Following months of being woefully underutilized on General Hospital, is Gio (Giovanni Mazza) about to finally get a storyline? Perhaps. After a fun meet-cute with Emma Scorpio-Drake (Braedyn Bruner) in the plaza on Christmas Eve, there were strong hints that Gio and Emma will have more interactions in the future, which may prove to be interesting.

Poor Gio has been kind of left out as everyone else on General Hospital got big dramatic storylines this fall. Giovanni Mazza is so talented, that it’s about time they give Gio a storyline with some meat to it, including a possible romance with Emma.

The role of Emma Scorpio-Drake has recently been recast. Braedyn Bruner is a newcomer to GH but she brings exactly the kind of bohemian fun spirit to Emma that is the perfect match for Gio. Gio is kind-hearted and steady, and Emma has a “Robin Hood” sense of justice and a keen sense of adventure that could bring Gio out of his shell.

Emma has been in and out of Port Charles for the past couple of years in school and helping her grandmother Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) on a few missions here and there. But a relationship with Gio could keep her in town for a while now.

Gio has been kind of at loose ends ever since he arrived in Port Charles. He lives at the Quartermaine mansion, which is a pretty nice address for someone so young. He’s kind of a Quartermaine cousin through the Cerullos, which is a weak enough claim that it’s surprising Tracy (Jane Elliot) allowed him to move in.

But there’s some speculation that he’s actually the son of Brook-Lynn (Amanda Setton) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) after a brief relationship they had when they were young. Whether or not that’s true, Gio hasn’t had much to do on the show in the time he’s been around.

It looked for a while as if they were going to set him up as a love interest for Trina (Tabyana Ali) but now it seems like Trina is going to have an enemies-to-lovers style romance with handsome football player and art lover Kai Taylor (Jens Austin Astrup). That once again leaves Gio hanging out with no real purpose.

Gio is one of the few characters currently on the show who doesn’t have a “past” in Port Charles, so his future is really wide open. He’s only distantly related to the Quartermaines (that we know of officially) so he’s free to hook up with any number of the younger characters on the show. He’s technically in school on a music scholarship, so the writers could give him any number of music-related futures.

And that’s one of the reasons why it’s tragic that they haven’t really given Gio a real storyline yet. As one of the few characters who doesn’t have any bad relationships or feuds with anyone in Port Charles, he has the most potential for any interesting storyline. But he’s just been languishing in the background for months.

His meet-cute with Emma was very sweet and hopefully will be the start of some real development for the character. They make an adorable couple and I’m excited to see what happens for them.

It would be very interesting if he finds out that Brook-Lynn and Dante are his actual parents. Dante is already struggling so much after losing Sam (Kelly Monaco) that finding out he has another child could be a great comfort to him. But that might complicate any future that Dante might have with Lulu (Alexa Havens-Bruening).

Gio finding out that Brook-Lynn is his mother would cement him within the Quartermaine family and possibly even make him the heir apparent to the family’s name. Tracy likes him and she hates Drew (Cameron Mathison), so she’d probably be very happy to dote on Gio and make him the public face of the Quartermaines so they could distance themselves from Drew and his shenanigans.

The new year is bringing a lot of new relationships to General Hospital and the potential for And that’s one of the reasons why it’s tragic that they haven’t really given Gio a real storyline yet. Netflix's cheapest tier is its ad-enabled one, which will set you back $6.99 per month, and with no Netflix Black Friday deal, that price won't go any lower. There's also tiers for $15.49 and $22.99 but bundling streaming deals for under that cost wouldn't be hard.

I'm going to show you a few streaming combinations to save you money on streaming services compared to Netflix, but before we jump in, let's look at some of the deals available:

Black Friday streaming bundles

With a fair few Black Friday streaming deals out there, there are actually a fair few ways to bundle four streaming services for a low price.

Unfortunately, unlike last year, there's no way to crank that to five streaming services. But four is still decent number, and there are loads of different options.

Here's a few combinations. They mostly hinge on the fact that Max is a bundle of two streaming services.

• Max ($2.99) + Discovery Plus (free with Max) + Hulu ($0.99) + Disney Plus ($2 when bundled with Hulu)

This one will cost you $5.98, so you're saving over $1 per month compared to Netflix. I've prioritized the Hulu and Disney bundle because it lasts for two months, while some others don't. The Max deal is for six months.

• Max ($2.99) + Discovery Plus (free with Max) + Hulu ($0.99) + Paramount Plus with Showtime($2.99)

We can swap out Disney Plus for Paramount Plus for an extra $0.99, though that deal is only for a couple of months.

• Max ($2.99) + Discovery Plus (free with Max) + Hulu ($0.99) + Peacock ($1.99)

We can do another bundle that's $1 cheaper than Netflix by bringing in Peacock instead of Paramount Plus or Disney Plus, and it's technically the cheapest combo on this list, but only by a single cent.

You might have noticed that I didn't bring any Prime Video Channel deals into the mix, and that's because you need to be a Prime Video subscriber to get them. If you're not, the extra cost will make this pricier than Netflix.

If you're happy trying to undercut Netflix Standard, not Netflix Premium, you can bundle all of these Black Friday streaming deals and more for well under its $15.49 monthly price. And if you think four streaming services is too many and only want three, again there are countless combinations of the above deals that'll save you loads of cash.

Black Friday deals to let you watch Yellowstone on demand in the US

Yellowstone isn't on Paramount Plus' library, and instead it streams on Peacock. Season 5 part 2 isn't on Peacock just yet, and we'll have to wait until the new year for it to show up (no date has been announced, but it'll almost definitely be in the next 6-10 months), but there is a Peacock Black Friday deal that'll help.

Black Friday deals to let you watch Yellowstone on demand in the UK

If you live in the UK, there are actually loads of ways to save money and watch Yellowstone. The new season is joining previous ones on Paramount's streaming service, making Paramount Plus Black Friday deals the best way to sign up.

Paramount Plus is offering deals on monthly an annual plans of its two ad-free tiers (find out more about the new Paramount Plus tiers here) as well as on the Prime Video channel.

Streaming isn't the only way to watch Yellowstone. There are loads of Black Friday deals on DVDs and Blu-rays, including Yellowstone and its spin-offs. Here are my favorites:

Lots of the major streaming services are offering fantastic Black Friday streaming deals, but for the most part these are on the mainstream platforms and only for new subscribers. So if you're a returning subscriber or want a more niche subscription, what do you do? Well, that's where Roku steps in.

Like with the Prime Video channels deal we've seen, Roku has announced a huge range of discounts over the Roku Channels. These let you you pay a little bit each month to see extra videos populate your Roku device or TV home page.

Some of these affect the major streaming service's channels like Paramount Plus, Max or Discovery Plus, but lots of them are let you sign up for smaller channels which you might not consider otherwise. History Vault? Lifetime Movie Club? A&E Crime Central? All are discounted.

To get one of these Black Friday channel deals, you'll need to own a Roku streaming stick or TV, and all you need to do to get the trial is sign up for the service through your Roku device. You'll need to do so on or before Monday, December 2 in order to get the new discounted price.

This isn't a deal offered by Apple, because in all my many years of covering Black Friday, I've never seen one (not counting Apple TV Plus free trials). But other companies come to the rescue and that's why this Roku deal is really big.

Yes, it's technically a Roku deal: anyone that owns a Roku streaming stick or TV can sign up for Apple TV Plus for free for three months (and there are some other Roku Channel deals you can find here). Bear in mind that Roku devices are as cheap as $17.99 right now because they too have Black Friday deals on them. So it's cheaper to buy one of these (the Roku Express is the cheapest one) than pay the usual $9.99 fee for your first three months.

I'll list some Roku deals below that you can pick from, and the company's TVs and streaming sticks alike are on offer. All you need to do to get the free three months of Apple TV Plus is sign up through your Roku device until Thursday, January 2 when it expires. How to get the free Apple TV Plus

Once you've bought and received the Roku player, you'll need to set it up quickly to get the deal, because this only works if you sign up on or before Monday, December 2.

When it's working, set up Apple TV Plus and you'll be prompted with the promotion to try the streaming service for free.

This impressive streaming deal is a bundled offered by Verizon, giving consumers access to two of the largest streaming services at a discounted price.

With this bundle you can watch original series like Stranger Things, The Crown, Game of Thrones, Wednesday, Bookie, The Last of Us, Hacks and more for a relatively low price.

Verizon's latest offering joins other streaming bundling offers that it has, including the Disney bundle, which combines Disney Plus with Hulu and ESPN Plus. 

In this post, we are going to go over all of the details that you need to know about this Netflix and Max bundle from Verizon, including price, when it is available and who is eligible to sign up for it. So, let's start answering those questions.

Netflix and Max bundle price

Verizon is offering the Netflix and Max bundle for $10 per month.

Based on the pricing for the Netflix ad-tier ($7.99 per month) and Max ad-tier ($9.99 per month) as standalone services, Verizon says that its bundle saves consumers more than 40% per month.

In order to sign up for Verizon's Netflix and Max bundle, you must be a Verizon myPlan customer. The myPlan program is a mobile phone plan that allows consumers to determine what level of service they need, with the base plan starting at $30 per month (Unlimited Welcome) and upgraded plans coming in at $45 (Unlimited Plus) and $55 per month (Unlimited Ultimate). Customers can then choose additional perks they want to add to their plan, most of which are available for $10 per month.

If you are already a Verizon myPlan subscriber you can add the Netflix and Max bundle to your monthly bill through your account. If you are not signed up for myPlan, you can do so at verizon.com/myplan.

There are some terms for the Netflix and Max bundle that consumers could find helpful. The first is, as mentioned above, you must be a myPlan subscriber with one of the Unlimited mobile plans. But here are other terms worth noting:

• You can only access content from each service separately
• Enrolling in the Netflix and Max bundle may impact existing subscriptions to those services

Prime Day 2023 falls on Tuesday, October 11, and Wednesday, October 12 (ie, right now) and is home to all kinds of deals that are great for movie buffs.

Themed LEGO sets are regularly included in Amazon's lineup, and are always a solid pick-up ahead of the holiday season. I was planning on skipping Prime Day Deals this year to try and save some cash and stop myself from making any big impulse buys... but I've spotted one particularly good LEGO Ghostbusters deal that might ruin my spending resolution.

Typically, LEGO sets see discounts of between 15% and 25% at this time of year. However, Amazon UK currently has the LEGO replica of one of Hollywood's coolest-ever cars (second to the DeLorean, obviously) available for nearly £70 less than the asking price.

As a certified movie nerd (and someone who loves unwinding away from my screen by building some LEGO), I've already got a fair few pint-size replicas from some of my favorite franchises sitting around the house. I've always wanted to spend several hours putting together one of the more complicated sets (including that 6,167-piece LEGO replica of Rivendell), but some of the sky-high asking prices on the more complex builds have regularly put me off.

Unfortunately for my wallet, this massive discount on the ECTO-1 is proving very difficult to resist picking up, especially since it's cheaper than the already-discounted prices at other retailers like Argos or Smyths.

The not-so-secret weapon for NFL fans for years has been NFL Sunday Ticket, which allows them to watch every game outside of the local game available with NFL on CBS and NFL on Fox each week. But NFL Sunday Ticket can get expensive. That's why many fans may be interested in a slate of NFL Sunday Ticket deals that are being offered for the 2024 NFL season.

A standalone subscription for NFL Sunday Ticket costs $479 for the full season (monthly payments are available) or $349 if you combine it as part of a YouTube TV subscription; you can also add on NFL RedZone for an additional $40.

Here are the details of the deal:

• New Verizon mobile customers can qualify for free NFL Sunday Ticket when they purchase a select smartphone and activate it using and Unlimited Ultimate or Unlimited Plus plan.
• New Verizon home internet customers qualify when they sign up for a Fios 1 Gig, Fios 2 Gig, 5G Home Plus or LTE Home Plus plan
• Existing mobile customers can get NFL Sunday Ticket for free if they:
  • add a new line of service with a qualifying device on the Unlimited Ultimate or Unlimited Plus plan during the limited time promotion
  • upgrade an existing device to a qualifying device on the Unlimited Ultimate or Unlimited Plus plan during the limited time promotion
  • move at least one line from a metered/usage-based plan to the the Unlimited Ultimate or Unlimited Plus plan during the limited time promotion
• Existing home internet customers can get NFL Sunday Ticket for free if they:
  • upgrade existing home internet plan to 5G Home Plus or LTE Home Plus during the limited time promotion

FanDuel users can get a three-week free trial of NFL Sunday Ticket this season. All customers (where FanDuel is available) that bet $5 are eligible for the three-week free trial. For more information, visit FanDuel.

YouTube TV & NFL Sunday Ticket bundle

You can get NFL Sunday Ticket at a discount if you opt to pair it with a deal for YouTube TV, giving you the ability to watch both locally available NFL games and Sunday Ticket's out-of-market NFL games all in one place.

From now until August 29, you can bundle YouTube TV and NFL Sunday Ticket and save a total of $85. You'll pay four months of $146.49 for both NFL Sunday Ticket and YouTube TV; after which the standard YouTube TV monthly rate ($72.99/month) will be reapplied, bringing the total to $167.74 per month for both services.

NFL Sunday Ticket/YouTube TV/Max bundle

YouTube is offering a brand new bundle to further entice people to sign up for NFL Sunday Ticket: giving football fans that add Sunday Ticket up to four months free of streaming service Max.

There doesn't appear to be any special deal on price for YouTube TV or NFL Sunday Ticket than what we've detailed above, but you are getting Max for free for four month, a deal that would normally cost at least $40.

One thing to note, you cannot be a current Max or Entertainment Plus subscriber to get this deal.

NFL Sunday Ticket monthly payments

While this is not necessarily going to save you any money in the long run, YouTube's introduction of monthly payment plans for NFL Sunday Ticket is going to mean you can spread out the cost of it rather than paying a big lump sum right away.

If you opt for the monthly payment plan, you'll pay $119.75 per month up front and then three additional payments at that price over the next three months. Note that this does not mean you can only pay for one month of NFL Sunday Ticket, if you sign up, you are committed to paying for the entire season, with YouTube automatically charging you each month. If paired with YouTube TV, those monthly payment prices come down to $94.75 per month.

The other thing to note is that monthly payment plans are not available for everyone. Those living in Georgia, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Nevada and Tennessee are not able to sign up for the monthly plans, and instead must pay the full price at initial sign up.

NFL Sunday Ticket Student Plan

The NFL Sunday Ticket student plan is back. Eligible students can sign up for NFL Sunday Ticket for just $199 for the season, with an option to add NFL RedZone for an extra $10. However, this plan only allows you to watch games on YouTube Primetime channels, you can't access NFL Sunday Ticket through YouTube TV.

A great streaming deal over Black Friday makes HBO Max a lot more affordable, letting you catch up on all the top movies and TV shows from one of the world's best streaming services.

You normally have to pay $9.99 per month for HBO Max for its ad-supported tier, but if you subscribe before November 28, you'll only have to pay $2 for each of your first three months.

The HBO Max ad-supported plan has all the content of its premium ($14.99-per-month) sibling, but doesn't let you stream in 4K, or download titles to watch offline. There's no deal on that pricier version though.

You probably know HBO for its own selection of hit shows like Game of Thrones, Westworld and White Lotus, with new titles like Our Flag Means Death and House of the Dragon keeping fans coming back for more.

But HBO Max also offers Warner Brother movies once they've finished their theatrical runs. This means The Batman, Dune and Fast & Furious 9 are all on there, as well as many classic movies too.

At some point in 2023, HBO Max is getting combined with Discovery Plus, which is something that Warner Media has confirmed. This means that the HBO Max library will swell with loads of factual shows on history, food and the world — though we imagine that the three-month deal may well have ended by that point.

While HBO Max is one of the highest entries on our list of the best streaming services, one thing it suffers from is the price, with the high monthly cost, lack of a free trial and very rare discounts making it one of the costliest subscriptions. But that's why this Black Friday deal is great — it's a rare opportunity to try HBO Max without paying the full amount.

Black Friday shopping tips

• Be aware of scams: big online shopping events like Cyber Monday can attract scammers, so make sure you shop from official sites (check the domain) and if you get emailed Cyber Monday deals, check the sender is reputable before clicking any links.
• Avoid refurbished products: while refurbished goods are often a good way to get the item you want for less, during sales periods they're not always the best value. Also, be sure you're not buying a refurbished item when you think you're buying something new.
• Consider stock shortages: there are so many issues around delivery delays and lack of stock hitting retailers this year that we'd suggest starting your holiday shopping as soon as you see the item you want, at a price you think is good value. Of course, if time isn't an issue then it's worth weighing up whether you really want to hold on in the hopes of an even better deal.

Hulu is in the giving spirit this National Streaming Day, as the streaming service is offering a special discount to its subscription service where consumers can sign up for just $1 per month for three months for a limited time. That means you can have access to Hulu shows and movies — like Only Murders in the Building season 2, the new limited series Pistols, Fire Island and more — for just $3 all summer long.

New subscribers can sign up for the deal from May 20 to May 27 at 11:59 pm PT.

Typically, Hulu’s monthly subscription fee starts at $6.99 for its ad-supported plan, while an ad-free plan goes for $12.99 per month. This deal only covers the ad-supported plan, so if you switch your plan during the course of the offer, the discount will be removed. Still, it works out as an $18 saving for the three-month period.

The deal is only available to new or "eligible returning" Hulu subscribers. To be an eligible returning subscriber, you have to have canceled your previous Hulu subscription more than one month before signing up for a new one. While a seven-day Hulu free trial is a standard offering from the streamer, that's not available as part of this deal and you can't combine it with any other promotion — but at just $1 per month, that's hardly surprising! 

When the three-month period is over (between August 20 and August 27, depending on when you sign up for the deal), anyone who wants to continue their Hulu subscription will be automatically switched to the standard price for the with-ads plan — $6.99 per month. 

There are still ways to save on a Hulu subscription after that though, as signing up for the Disney Bundle will get you access to Hulu along with Disney Plus and ESPN Plus, for the single monthly fee of $13.99.

Hulu is one of the original streaming services, offering both current and classic TV shows from many different networks, as well as its own original series and movies. Some of their most high-profile offerings include TV shows like The Handmaid’s Tale, Ramy, Shrill and FX or Hulu original series like Under the Banner of Heaven and Reservation Dogs. 

The timing of this deal also means you'll get to see some of a slate of exclusive-to-Hulu movies, including the comedy, Fire Island, Emma Thompson’s Good Luck to You, Leo Grande and the Predator prequel, Prey.

Verizon has been promoting Disney Plus from the get-go, offering the streaming service to its customers for free for a full year initially, now for six months. They may have an even better deal offer now, as eligible Verizon customers can get the Disney Bundle — Disney Plus, ESPN Plus and Hulu — for free. 

The Disney Bundle normally costs $13.99 per month (this includes the ad-supported Hulu version, though a Disney Bundle with ad-free Hulu is also available), so getting it for free is a pretty good deal. Even if you are not eligible to get the Disney Bundle for free through Verizon, they do have another option that allows you to pay just $6 per month for the trio of streaming services.

Here's what you need to know about Verizon's Disney Bundle offer, from eligibility to the fine print.

Who is eligible for the Verizon Disney Bundle deal?

To be able to get the Disney Bundle for free from Verizon, a customer must have signed up for either the 5G Get More or 5G Play More mobile phone plan, or the Get More Unlimited and Play More Unlimited plans if you got them on or after August 20, 2020. If you fall under these plans you can get the Disney Bundle for free for as long as you stay with the plans.

This deal is available until midnight on May 31, 2022. Meaning if you want the Disney Bundle for free you have until that date to add the feature or change to a qualified plan and enroll.

Some finer print details: you can only have one Disney Bundle per account; also, business and prepaid accounts aren't eligible for the Disney Bundle offer.

If you already have a Disney Plus on Us promotion through a different, non-eligible Verizon plan, you can upgrade to the Disney Bundle for $6 per month during the duration of the promotion (it will increase to $13.99 per month at the end of promotion).

How to sign up for the Verizon Disney Bundle offer

Eligible Verizon customers can enroll in the Disney Bundle offer through the Add-Ons page in My Verizon.

To get there, go to your Verizon Account and then select "Apps & Add-Ons." Depending on your account, the option to enroll for the Disney Bundle will be available in a section labeled either "Add-ons & apps overview" or "Add-ons & features overview." If you've been looking for an excuse to see the latest movies, Saturday, Feb. 26 is your best bet. This Saturday is the very first "Cineworld Day", meaning all tickets at Cineworld and Picturehouse cinemas across the country will cost just £3.

That means you'll be able to watch any film in any format, including IMAX screenings, 4DX extreme cinema, the 270-degree ScreenX experiences, and it's the perfect chance to discover Cineworld's Superscreen (with Dolby Atmos sound), all for just £3 a ticket this Saturday. (Online booking fees will still apply.)

FREE screenings of CODA this weekend (Feb. 25-27)

If you live near London, Apple is re-releasing CODA to celebrate the film receiving three Oscar nominations for Best Picture, Best Supporting Actor (Troy Kotsur), and Best Adapted Screenplay.

CODA was the first movie featuring a predominantly deaf cast to be honored with a Best Picture nomination, and CODA's Troy Kotsur is the first deaf male actor to ever be nominated for an Oscar.

You'll be able to watch CODA free of charge (with open captions) for a limited theatrical run from Friday, Feb. 25 through to Sunday, Feb. 27. Screenings are being held in major cities throughout the US, but there are also a handful of free showings at the Barbican Centre in London. 

You can check showings on CODA's website and book up to four tickets per person for free with the Barbican, while supplies last.

Odeon: FREE tickets on Mondays for O2 phone and Virgin Media customers

If you're an O2 or a Virgin Media Broadband, TV, or home phone (not Virgin Mobile) customer, you can grab an ODEON cinema ticket for free every single week with Movie Mondays on O2 Priority.

To redeem the offer, you'll need to download the Priority app on the App Store or Google Play Store. Once you're logged in, you'll just need to find and claim the Odeon offer in the app, and you'll get a voucher code which you can redeem online for a single standard 2D ticket at any Odeon cinema (except the BFI IMAX, ODEON Leicester Square and ODEON Luxe & Dine).

Vue Cinema: Grab 2 tickets for £7 with the My Vodafone app

Vodafone customers can grab two Vue cinema tickets for £7 (costing £3.50 each) through Vodafone's VeryMe Rewards scheme.

Every week, this ongoing offer allows you to purchase two e-admission codes in the My Vodafone app (which you can find on the App Store and Google Play Store). 

You can then redeem these codes either online or at any Vue Box Office for two standard 2D tickets, but you can redeem them for special screenings if you pay the difference.

The offer is open to Pay monthly customers, with a selection of rewards available to anyone on a pay-as-you-go contract. PAYG customers can unlock even more of the offers by topping up at least £10 every 6 weeks.

Get £3 Cineworld and Picturehouse weekend tickets on Three UK

Three UK launched their new customer rewards scheme Three+ towards the end of 2021, and this offers you a range of deals including £3 cinema tickets every weekend at Picturehouse and Cineworld cinemas. 

To redeem the offer, customers need to download the Three+ app on their phones (via the App Store or the Google Play Store). A new code for one £3 adult standard seating ticket for Friday-Sunday is generated in the app each week, with the previous one expiring if not used. 

Do be aware that online booking fees will still be included, and you can pay extra to upgrade to VIP/Premium seating and to special formats (3D, IMAX, etc) during the purchasing process. There are also separate reward codes for each cinema chain, so make sure you redeem the right one before you try to purchase a ticket.

Currently, only customers on Three's Pay Monthly or Pay As You Go tariffs can register for Three+, although the company says they're "working on making Three+ available to our Home Broadband, Mobile Broadband and business customers soon". When is Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2021?

The Black Friday / Cyber Monday 2021 weekend starts on Friday, 26 November and runs through until Monday 29 November.  It is always the weekend after Thanksgiving in the US. 

But these days "Black Friday" is a month-long affair starting mid-November and running through Thanksgiving and beyond.

Retailers like Currys and Argos (in the UK) and Walmart and Best Buy (in the US) have sales and daily deals all the way through the month of November so it's worth keeping a lookout on anything you're interested in — just in case there's a special offer.

Cyber Monday shopping tips

Hulu has a Cyber Monday streaming deal this year that's almost too good to believe! For this weekend and through Cyber Monday, the TV and movie streaming service is offering new and returning customers the chance to sign up for a full year at just $0.99 per month. Returning customers must not have been active subscribers in the past month to be eligible for this offer.

That means you'll get access to Hulu for 12 months at just $11.88, an 85% saving on the standard price ($6.99 per month). This is a great deal — especially when you remember people paying the same or more per month for a cable package. 

If you've never had a Hulu subscription, you're in for a treat. Your membership lets you watch thousands of the latest shows like Dexter and Succession the day after they air live on TV, along with popular Hulu originals like The Great, Dopesick and Only Murders in the Building. Tons of movies are on the service too — originals as well as HBO, Starz, Showtime movies — including blockbusters like Deadpool and indie films like Oscar-winner Parasite. 

For $12, you're paying less than the price of a movie ticket, for a year's worth of entertainment.

A one-month subscription to Hulu's ad-supported plan usually costs $6.99 so this represents a massive 85% saving. After the offer period is up your subscription will renew at the regular price each month. However, you can cancel at any time if you decide to end your membership. Hulu also offers a no-ads plan which costs $12.99 per month, though unfortunately there's no discount on it this Cyber Monday.

Nov. 18 is National Princess Day, and to celebrate Best Buy is offering special deals on DVDs for many of people’s favorite princesses, the Disney princesses. From the original Disney princess Snow White to the more recent Moana, there are some great, one-day-only deals being offered for movie fans to add to their DVD collection.

The deals being offered by Best Buy are for both Blu-ray, UHD and DVD copies of many Disney animated classics. You’ll need to act fast, though, as these deals are all set to expire at midnight on Nov. 18.

When folks ask us which Roku they should buy, we always say Roku Ultra. Yes, on a typical day it costs twice as much as other Roku fare that also has support for 4K resolution. But today is not a typical day. Today finds the 2020 Roku Ultra (they get updated every couple years or so) on sale for just $69. And that that price, it's pretty much a must-buy situation.

The big selling points for Roku Ultra over the less-expensive options are that it's more powerful, it has an Ethernet port so you don't have to deal with flaky wireless connections, and it has a USB port for external storage. Have a hard drive full of movies and pictures and stuff? Just plug it in.

Roku Ultra also comes with the Roku Voice Remote, which has a headphone jack for private listening. That means you can stay up all night watching TV, and not wake anyone in the process. And if you need a set of earbuds, Roku has you covered there, too, with a set included in the box.

And just like every other Roku device, Roku Ultra also supports Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple AirPlay and HomeKit.

One of the worst secrets in the world is that Amazon Prime Day isn't really just a day. It's not even just a couple of days. It's more like a matter of weeks in which you can get some of the bets deals of the year not just on all things Amazon, but all things.

And the deals are starting weeks ahead of time this year. One of the best so far is the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K, which currently can be had for 20 percent off, taking it down to just $39. 

For that paltry sum you'll get a streaming stick that can handle 4K resolution, plus Dolby Vision for HDR, meaning you'll get the best picture you can possibly get. It also supports Dolby Atmos, so if your sound equipment also supports that standard you'll get some of the best spatial audio available in home entertainment.

There's also 8 gigabytes of storage on board, so it's got plenty of room for all the streaming apps (and games, too) that you could want to enjoy.

Apple TV 4K — which is still our No. 1 overall streaming device in 2021 — has found itself with a great price on Amazon. You can snag the 32-gigabyte Apple TV 4K for just $149.

That's an excellent deal, though there are a couple caveats. First is that Apple TV 4K is a product from 2017. That's not to say it isn't as good now as it was when it was released — because it is. It's has access to just about every streaming app you could ever want, and it can even play games via Apple Arcade. And if you're into the Apple ecosystem, it also can serve as a Homekit hub, as well as a way to use AirPlay to beam your phone or Mac screen onto your TV.

And that caveat leads to this: We're very much expecting a new Apple TV device any time now. We don't know exactly when it will drop — it could be tomorrow, it could be in six months or more. But there is one coming, eventually.

And there's also the fact that Apple TV 4K has what's universally regarded to be the worst remote control since the time you thought it'd be a good idea to pay your neighbor Billy to get up off the couch and change the channel by hand. (It seemed like a good idea at the time.) Instead, we highly recommend picking up a Logitech Harmony Companion. 

That all just makes this $149 price point that much more appealing, though. 

Apple TV 4K also has all the specs you'd want in a streaming device. As the name implies, it supports 4K resolution. It also supports Dolby Vision for HRD, and Dolby Atmos for audio. (You'll need a TV and sound system that support those features, of course.) And it has software that's updated regularly, so you can be sure that you have the latest features and security improvements.

One of the things we love to look for deals on come Black Friday are remote controls. They're sort of the redheaded step-child of the living room — nobody wants to have to think about the remote control. But it's the thing you're going to use the most whether you're only using a TV, or some sort of streaming stick like Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K, or the Roku Ultra. Or even Apple TV, which is our pick for the best streaming hardware while also having the worst remote control in the history of remote controls.

The point is, you deserve something better. And Black Friday sales are a fine time to save a little money on a new remote control.

Here's what we're looking for when we're looking for Black Friday Deals on remote controls:

Logitech Harmony Companion

The Logitech Harmony Companion is still my absolute favorite remote control. It has all the buttons you'll need, including numbers (just in case), volume and channel up/down, a full-size directional pad that's easy to use without looking, and options for smart home devices like lights, so it's super easy to turn things off and on, or just dim them, while you're watching TV.

The Harmony Companion also comes with a Harmony Hub for controlling all those smart things. The remote talks to the hub, the hub talks to the internet, and then all the things work. Setup is a breeze, and this remote control is still the most beautifully designed hardware in my home.

I've been using one for years, and it's just as good today as it was when I bought it.

Logitech Harmony Elite

If you need a serious upgrade, the Logitech Harmony Elite is where it's at. It appears to have lost a the numeric buttons but gained a touchscreen, which in fact is where those buttons have gone. And the touchscreen allows for so much more, because it's able to adapt to whatever situation you put it in. The screen also it makes easier for everyone to use, because you don't have to know what the function buttons do — it's all just written right there on the screen.

This remote control is rechargeable as well and looks great on its stand in your living room. It also comes with a Harmony Hub for controlling all the smart things — basically it's the last remote control you'll ever need.

Alexa Voice Remote

For those who are all in on Amazon Fire TV and are suffering along with the original remote control, consider an upgrade to the Alexa Voice Remote. This second-generation remote control still lets you use your voice to do all the Alexa things, but it also includes TV controls, so you can adjust the volume without needing a separate remote, as well as a power button so you can shut things down when you're done.

It normally retails for $29, but look to maybe shave off a few dollars come Black Friday.

Function Apple TV replacement remote

The remote control that comes with Apple TV is, in not so many words, bad. It is not a good remote control. This one from Function is a lot better, and it's a mere $30 before any Black Friday Deals.

It's programmed to work with Apple TV And Apple TV 4K out of the box and unlike Apple's remote has actual buttons that you're used to using, instead of a finicky trackpad thing that was lovingly dreamed up by engineers who apparently never actually sit in front of a television. Plus it has infrared built in to work with all of your usual TV controls.

Samsung makes many of the best TVs you’ll see on the market. You’ll find stunning options both big and small. And, if you’re coming from a more budget-oriented device, the difference you’ll see in quality will astound you.

Many affordable TVs are now able to offer a 4K picture for excellent visual clarity, and most pair that with some level of smarts to give you easy access to streaming content. Samsung’s TVs take that performance to even higher heights. 

On Samsung’s premium TVs, it offers an exceptional high dynamic range (HDR) to let you see more detail in bright areas of the screen as well as shadows, and you can perceive over a billion colors on many models. 4K displays are abundant in Samsung’s offerings, and it even has 8K models for some of the sharpest visuals commercially available. 

Now, these premium TVs tend to cost a bit more than your average model, but when you’re putting amazing films on for movie nights, binging your favorite show, or tuning into the latest sports championship, having amazing picture quality can make it worth the extra cost, especially as we’re spending more time at home. That said, now’s a great time to dive in, since Dell’s steep discounts will make those same Samsung TVs much easier to fit into your budget.

Dell is a trusted brand in electronics, so you can be sure you’re not getting a lemon when you buy from its online store. It’s deals rival the best online sales out there, so, if you want to see your shows and movies like you’ve never seen them before, have a look at some of these deals on premium Samsung TVs.

If any of these deals stick out to you, you should act fast. Deals like this don’t tend to last forever. Many of these deals have carried over from Dell’s Labor Day sales event, and since Labor Day is well behind us, these deals could become a thing of the past any day now.

The TCL 8-Series is one hell of a Roku TV. And it's currently on sale for one hell of a discount at Best Buy.

The 65-inch 8-Series — normally $1,999 — can be had for just $999. And the larger 75-inch mode, which usually goes for $2,999 — is discounted to $1,499.

In other words, you can get either one of them delivered for half-off.

What makes the 8-Series so good? It's the first TCL TV to use mini-LED panels, which are even better than QLED. That means blacks will be blacker than ever before — and much closer to the true black of OLED, but without the price hike that comes with that technology.

Here's how we put things when we got our first hands-on look at the 8-Series back in August 2019:

"Mini-LED allows TCL to form a much more precise backlighting pattern, that mirrors the image on the screen. As a result, blacks are actually black. To prove this, the company put the latest Samsung QLED side-by-side with its 8-series TV and the result was the latter is able to actually turn off the LED diodes behind the black parts of the screen. Look at a Samsung QF9N QLED closely and you'll see that the black parts aren't actually black, especially when you tap on them and you can see the LED diode behind respond with a bubble-like effect. With the TCL 8-series, blacks are actually black, and when you tap the screen with your knuckle, it doesn't bubble like on other QLED devices."

So in other words, it's a great TV that's able to compete with more expensive technology.

One note, however: We're coming up on the one-year anniversary of the debut of the 8-Series. That doesn't mean a refresh is imminent — and even if it is, this is still one hell of a deal. It's just something to be aware of.

If you've been eyeing an Amazon Fire TV Cube — read our full Fire TV Cube review — but just couldn't stomach paying the full retail price, today's your lucky day. Deals site Woot has used Fire TV Cubes listed at just $49, which is a ridiculously good price.

What's the big deal about the Fire TV Cube? For one, it does 4K video and Dolby Atmos audio just fine. But the other thing is that it has an array of microphones built in that also turns it in to a full-fledged Amazon Echo. That means you can use your voice to control all kinds of things with the Fire TV itself, as well as any other smart home stuff you may have rigged up.

Woot's listing has the Cubes being in "very good condition," which likely should be good enough for your purposes unless you just have to have that new Fire TV Cube smell, which absolutely is not a thing. (We've tried smelling them. It just does not exist.)

Estimated shipping time is set at July 24 or so, and free shipping comes if you're an Amazon Prime member. And chances are you are.

Best Buy's 4th of July sale is going on strong, and the best deal in it is probably the TCL 8 Series 65-inch Roku TV going for $999.99. This is a deal we have seen a couple times before, but it only ever shows up during major holiday sales. The last sale was over Memorial Day. Outside of the big sales event, this TV can go as high as $2,000. Since Best Buy is the only place that sells it, no one else can beat it on price.

Want to take it up a notch? You can also save on the 75-inch version of TCL's 8 Series TV . It's down to $1,799.99 from an MSRP of $3,000. And much like the 65-inch version, only Best Buy carries this TV so only Best Buy can put it on sale.

This TV's use of mini LED tech is one of the things that sets it apart. This feature gives you precise control of your TV's image quality, making brights as bright as ever and creating a beautiful contrast with the darks. You get tons of depth and dimension no matter what you're watching. The QLED panel also helps deliver a wider range of colors, giving you even more vivid pictures. Since the TV supports multiple HDR formats including Dolby Vision, you can combine all these technologies for some of the best image quality and clarity around.

There are two 15W speakers built in, but the TV also has support for Dolby Atmos. So if you decide to go the surround sound route, you can get the sort of audio experience that makes you feel like you're sitting in a movie theater.
