Based on Marissa Stapley’s novel of the same name, Lucky follows the titular con artist (Taylor-Joy) who is forced to go on the run when a multimillion-dollar heist goes wrong. Despite abandoning her life of crime years ago, Lucky must embrace her darker side one last time as she's pursued by the FBI and a ruthless crime boss.

Lucky also features a star-studded cast of Timothy Olyphant, Annette Bening, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, and William Fichtner.

The Westies

Bullets and bloodshed ignite the streets of 1980s New York in MGM+'s gangland thriller The Westies on 12 July.

The official plot synopsis reads: "The Westies is a gritty and kinetic crime drama centering on New York City’s infamously violent Irish gang of the same name. The series is set in the early 1980s when the construction of the Jacob Javits Convention Center on the Westies’ home turf in Hell’s Kitchen promises a financial windfall. Despite being outnumbered fifty-to-one by the Five Families of the Italian Mafia, the Westies’ legendary brutality and cunning have given them the leverage necessary to share the spoils through a fragile détente.

"But internal conflict between the brash younger generation and the old-school leadership threatens to set a match to this powder keg, which will sweep the Westies into the FBI’s ever-deepening investigation into the Italian mafia."

JK Simmons plays the mob's shrewd leader, Eamon Sweeney with Tom Brittney starring alongside him as his right-hand man, Jimmy Roarke.

R.J. Decker

Coming to Disney+ on 14 July, this dramedy centres on R.J. Decker (Scott Speedman), a disgraced newspaper photographer and ex-con who starts over as a private investigator in the colourful-if-crime-filled world of South Florida.

The series sees him tackle bizarre cases with his journalist ex Catherine Delacroix (Adelaide Clemens), her police detective wife Melody Abreu (Bevin Bru) and a mysterious new benefactor "who could be his greatest ally or his one-way ticket back to prison."

Walker season 2

Walker season 2 rides onto Paramount+ on 10 July and picks up three months after the dramatic season 1 finale. The Western drama sees Texas Ranger and widower Cordell Walker (Jared Padalecki) finally settle into family life on the ranch. However, he soon becomes embroiled in a bitter feud with the Davidsons — the "Hatfields to the Walkers' McCoys" — who move into the ranch next door and bring up traumatic childhood memories.

Little House on the Prairie

This Netflix reimagining of Laura Ingalls Wilder’s beloved book Little House on the Prairie tells the story of the Ingalls family who face harsh conditions as they attempt to settle down in the American West.

The adaptation, which premieres on 9 July, follows the Ingalls as they decide to leave Wisconsin and build a new life in Independence, Kansas. However, their arrival causes a stir with the Osage People, who have long called the land their home.

Alice Halsey plays Laura Ingalls, and Crosby Fitzgerald and Luke Bracey star as Caroline and Charles Ingalls, aka Ma and Pa. Meanwhile Skywalker Hughes plays older sister Mary.

Law & Order season 24

21 episodes and a new commanding officer later, the hit crime procedural Law & Order season 24 is coming to an end on 7 July. In this season, Lieutenant Jessica Brady (Maura Tierney) replaced Kate Dixon (Camryn Manheim) as head honcho in the NYPD's 27th Precinct. Fire Country season 4

More sizzling drama is set to light up our screens with the return of CBS drama Fire Country on 1 July. Max Thieriot reprises his role as young convict Bode Leone who joins a prison release firefighting program in a bid to shorten his sentence. This time, Bode is a free man as he continues his journey towards redemption in his hometown, all while battling huge wildfires across Northern California.

In Fire Country season 4, Station 42 faces internal turmoil following the Zabel Ridge fire, but they must band together for a dangerous rescue that tests their strength, loyalty and the future of the firehouse.

Suits LA

This Suits spin-off takes us to the cutthroat world of Los Angeles entertainment and criminal law. The legal drama, which debuts on C4 streaming on 1 July, follows Ted Black (Stephen Amell), a former federal prosecutor from New York who has reinvented himself as a power player in LA, representing the city’s most influential and dangerous clients.

The series was a big hit with What To Watch writer Sarabeth Pollock as she wrote in her Suits LA review that it's "flashy, entertaining and it delivers on all fronts, with lots of promise for the future of the Suits universe."

Silo season 3

One of the best Apple TV shows is back as the third season of dystopian drama Silo debuts on 3 July. The book-to-screen adaptation tells the story of 10,000 people living in an underground silo under mysterious circumstances, while revealing an origin story set centuries earlier.

The official synopsis of season 3 reveals: "In the present, Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson) survives her forced 'cleaning' but returns with memory loss as the silo recovers from rebellion and faces a dangerous new threat. Avatar: The Last Airbender season 2

The hit Netflix adaptation of the beloved Nickelodeon cartoon is back for a second season on 25 June. After saving the Northern Water Tribe from the invading Fire Nation, Avatar Aang (Gordon Cormier) and his 'Gaang' — Katara (Kiawentiio), and Sokka (Ian Ousley), have another battle on their hands. This time, the crew go on a mission to convince the Earth King to help them in their fight against Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim).

The Bear season 5

There's more culinary chaos in the final season of critically acclaimed dramedy The Bear, which picks up after Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Richie and Natalie “Sugar” (Abby Elliott) discover that Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) has walked away from the restaurant and left them to run the business. The new partners must try to earn a Michelin star with no money, the threat of a sale and a torrential storm in their way. Although they soon realise that what makes a restaurant “perfect” might not be the food, but the people.

The Bear season 5 has its last service on Disney+ on 26 June.

House of the Dragon season 3

Betrayal and bloodshed await as House of the Dragon season 3 swoops onto our screens on 22 June. In the third instalment of the Game of Thrones prequel, Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) is confident of peace after agreeing a deal with her arch-enemy Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) that will allow her to waltz into King's Landing unchallenged.

Unfortunately, her plans soon turn to ash as she fears for the life of her son Prince Jacaerys Velaryon (Harry Collett) in the Battle of the Gullet. Happy Valley star James Norton joins the cast as fearsome new foe and Alicent's cousin Ormond, while Matt Smith returns as Daemon Targaryen.

The final season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan hits MGM+ on 13 June, with Mekai Curtis and Patina Miller reprising their roles as Kanan Stark and Raquel "Raq" Thomas one last time in the prequel Power series.

The hit crime drama explores a teenage Kanan Stark (played by Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson in the original series) and his entry into the drug business with his mother, Raquel Thomas.

It's John Nolan's (Nathan Fillion) last shift as The Rookie season 8 comes to an end on 16 June. UK comedy drama Doc Martin has got the US reboot treatment with Sky One's Best Medicine on 9 June. The original series featured Martin Clunes as the blunt but brilliant GP Martin Ellingham at work in the fictional Cornish village of Portwenn.

Now, this 13-part American adaptation sees Josh Charles play Martin Best, who develops a blood phobia and leaves his career as a surgeon in Boston to become the general practitioner for the fishing town of Port Wenn, Maine. However, his abrupt bedside manner quickly rubs the locals up the wrong way. Martin Clunes also guest stars as Dr Martin Best’s father, Dr Robert Best.

Based on Karin Slaughter's novels of the same name, Will Trent is a Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) detective who was abandoned at birth and had a tumultuous youth growing up in Atlanta's foster care system. Now, he uses his unique point of view to ensure nobody is abandoned like he was and has the highest clearance rate in the GBI.

Will Trent season 4 will have its UK premiere on Disney+ on 3 June.

Cape Fear

Inspired by the 1991 Martin Scorsese remake, Apple TV's Cape Fear stars Patrick Wilson and Amy Adams as married attorneys Tom and Anna Bowden whose lives are upended when Max Cady (Javier Bardem), an evil killer they are responsible for putting behind bars, is released from prison and is hellbent on revenge. Cape Fear kicks off all the action on 5 June.

Fire Country season 1

The CBS drama follows Bode Donovan (Max Thieriot), a young convict who joins a prison release firefighting program in Northern California to get a shortened prison sentence and redeem himself from his past mistakes. As Bode returns to his hometown, he hopes that he can earn forgiveness for his criminal reputation, all while battling huge wildfires.

The 27th season of hit police procedural Law & Order: Special Victims Unit is coming to UK soil on Sky Witness on 25 May. In this new instalment of the iconic Dick Wolf franchise, Captain Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) continues to lead her elite team of NYPD detectives in tackling some of the most harrowing crimes, including sexual abuse and domestic violence.

Set in the world of For All Mankind, this new sci-fi thriller is an "alt-history" of the space race. Apple TV transforms the historical event into a "propulsive paranoid thriller that takes us back to the key moment in the alt-history retelling of the space race — when the Soviet Union became the first nation to put a man on the moon."

Star City takes us behind the Iron Curtain as it offers a what-if take on the global space race from the Soviet Union perspective, where the cosmonauts, engineers and intelligence officers on the Soviet space program all took risks to propel humankind forward.

Apple TV has a new dark comedy to add to its sprawling library with the arrival of Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed. The 10-part series, which premieres on 20 May, follows newly divorced mother Paula (Tatiana Maslany) as she becomes embroiled in a dangerous web of blackmail, murder, and youth soccer. FROM season 4

The mystery continues on Sky One as the fourth season of MGM's hit horror series, FROM premieres on May 14 in the UK.

FROM follows the residents who are trapped in a nightmarish town where mysterious forces and monstrous beings terrorise the locals. Citadel season 2

Richard Madden, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Stanley Tucci are throwing themselves into more exciting espionage as they reprise their roles for the second season of Prime Video's hit spy series Citadel on May 6.

The trio return as elite operatives Mason Kane, Nadia Sinh and Bernard Orlick who work for a global spy agency that was destroyed by a powerful syndicate eight years ago. Man on Fire

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II steps into the role of Special Forces Mercenary John Creasy in this new Netflix adaptation of A.J. Quinnell's book series, Man on Fire. The action thriller sees John looking for a fresh start and goes on a path to redemption to try and overcome his personal demons. However, he finds himself back in the fire before he can wipe the slate clean.

The Book of Boba Fett

The Disney+ Star Wars spin-off The Book of Boba Fett is coming to ITVX on April 29. Set within the timeline of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett centres on the titular bounty hunter (Temuera Morrison) and mercenary Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) as they navigate the criminal underbelly of the Star Wars universe and fight for Jabba the Hutt's old territory.

As per the official plot: "The Book of Boba Fett finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the Galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate."

There has been a public outpouring of love and support ever since Pauline Quirke’s family announced in January last year that the much-loved actor, best known for her roles in Birds of a Feather, Emmerdale and Broadchurch, has been living with dementia.

Now her 31-year-old son, Charlie Quirke, who starred opposite his mum in Birds of a Feather, has decided to raise both awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK by running the London Marathon on Sunday 26 April 2026 in honour of his beloved mum. But he won’t be taking on the emotional challenge alone...

Friends and loved ones, including his girlfriend Chloe, Gavin & Stacey’s Andrew Knott and Jamestown’s Luke Roskell, will be running alongside him as part of Team Quirke, hoping to complete the 26.2-mile course through the capital for dementia research.

In the fifth and final series of the critically acclaimed dramedy, Deborah and Ava return to Las Vegas to secure Deborah's legacy as a comedian following the false news reports that Deborah passed away.

Tracker season 3

Based on the best-selling novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver, Tracker stars Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw, "a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a reward seeker, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve all manner of mysteries while contending with his own fractured family."

Episode 10 of the CBS action-drama airs on Disney+ on April 21, which sees Colter cut off from his friends Reenie (Fiona Rene) and Randy (Chris Lee) after being framed for a string of murders. Colter is then forced to team up with unexpected ally Billie (Sofia Pernas) to stop an assassin and uncover a murky truth.

Margo's Got Money Troubles

Based on Rufi Thorpe's bestseller of the same name, Margo's Got Money Troubles features a star-studded cast that includes Elle Fanning, Michelle Pfeiffer, Nick Offerman and Nicole Kidman.

The book-to-screen adaption, coming to Apple TV on April 15, follows 20-year-old Margo (Elle Fanning), an aspiring writer who finds herself broke and a single mum after an ill-judged affair with her married college professor, Mark (Michael Angarano).

Struggling to make ends meet and care for her baby son, Bodhi, Margo turns to the online adult-content website OnlyFans to raise cash. Meanwhile, the story also focuses on Margo's former Hooters waitress mother Shyanne (Michelle Pfeiffer), who struggles with being a grandmother and her estranged father, ex-professional wrestler Jinx (Nick Offerman) as he unexpectedly moves in.

Nicole Kidman also stars as wrestler-turned-lawyer Lace, who helps Margo when Mark re-enters her life.

Euphoria season 3

Critically acclaimed teen drama Euphoria returns after four years, which sees the high school students now in the throes of early adulthood.

Set five years after season two, the new instalment finds struggling addict Rue Bennett (Zendaya) in Mexico trying to pay off her debt to drug dealer Laurie (Martha Kelly). Meanwhile Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer) is at art school, Maddy Perez (Alex Demie) is working at a talent agency in Hollywood, and Lexi Howard (Maude Apatow) is an assistant to a showrunner (played by Sharon Stone).

Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen

Horror fans are invited to tune in to Netflix’s new thriller Something Very Bad Is Going To Happen, about a doomed wedding. Starring Camila Morrone and Adam DiMarco as Rachel and Nicky, the action follows the ill-fated bride and groom in the week leading up to their nuptials.

The pair set out on what should be a fun road trip to his family’s holiday home, which is tucked away in a snowy forest, for their dream wedding. But Rachel, who is already prone to superstition and paranoia, can’t shake a feeling of dread about their forthcoming ceremony. And when she’s met with a series of eerie coincidences and awful surprises, she’s forced to confront her fears and contemplate whether she’s doing the right thing.

The drama comes from the Executive Producers of Stranger Things and the cast also includes Jeff Wilbusch, Karla Crome, Gus Birney, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Ted Levine and Sawyer Fraser, and All eight episodes are available on Netflix from Thursday, March 26.

Daredevil: Born Again Season 2

Charlie Cox is back as the masked vigilante, alongside Vincent D’Onofrio as Wilson Fisk when the popular MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe) drama has its much-anticipated return.

Picking up six months on from Fisk declaring martial law, having firmly established himself as Mayor of New York, Daredevil is public enemy number one. Now sporting a new black suit, Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Cox) has help from his resistance ally, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) as they aim to take back control.

And if fans aren’t excited enough about Krysten Ritter reprising her role in the eight-part series, there’s another treat in store with Tony Dalton back as Jack Duquesne aka The Swordsman.

Season two episodes release weekly on Disney+ from Wednesday, March 25.

For All Mankind Season 5

The fifth season of For All Mankind makes its way to Apple TV and with Happy Valley now a thriving colony in the years since the Goldilocks asteroid heist, friction builds between those who live on Mars and the people on their former home.

Now time-jumping to the 2010s, the 10-part space drama sees the nations of Earth demanding law and order on the Red Planet, as they seek to gain control. Stars Joel Kinnaman, Toby Kebbell, Edi Gathegi, Cynthy Wu, Coral Peña and Wrenn Schmidt. Watch out for the launch of spin-off series Star City in late May.

Cross S2 finale

Season two of Prime Video's edge-of-your-seat thriller, based on James Patterson’s best-selling book series, builds to a dramatic climax this week. But will gifted homicide detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross (Aldis Hodge) catch vigilante Rebecca/Luz (Jeanine Mason)?

The investigation has taken Cross and his team to Chicago and Texas in pursuit of the killer. Will he crack the case?

He’s already come face-to-face with the murderer and deciphered her Mexican-inspired Kill List, but she managed to evade capture by double-crossing him. So now it’s a race against time to stop her campaign of vengeance against billionaire Lance Durand (Matthew Lillard) and the other human traffickers that murdered her mother.

No decision has yet been made on a season three renewal. But showrunner Ben Watkins has spoken previously about having a four-season plan in mind.

The final episode is available on Prime Video from Wednesday, March 18.

Imperfect Women

Executive produced by and starring Elisabeth Moss and Kerry Washington, Apple TV’s eight-part limited series centres on a crime that destroys the lives of three women who have been friends for decades.

The psychological thriller is based on Araminta Hall’s novel of the same name and covers themes of guilt and retribution, love and betrayal as well as decisions and compromises that forever change the course of people’s lives.

The drama also features Kate Mara, Joel Kinnaman, Leslie Odom Jr, Audrey Zahn, Jill Wagner, Rome Flynn, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Violette Linnz, Indiana Elle, Jackson Kelly, Keith Carradine, Ana Ortiz and Wilson Bethel.

Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell lead the cast of this deeply personal family drama about resilience and transformation. The six-part love story that introduces us to the Clyburns is set across two worlds: the stunning Montana landscape and the contrasting vibrancy of Manhattan. This heartfelt study of grief and human connection, created by Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan, also features Patrick J Adams, Beau Garrett and Matthew Fox.

The Affair

Having previously been shown on Sky Atlantic, seasons 1-3 of The Affair arrives on ITVX this week. Starring Dominic West and Ruth Wilson as cheating lovers, the spicy drama offers their own perspectives of their many interactions.

Noah Solloway (Dominic West) has four children with wife Helen (Maura Tierney). While on their annual summer stay on Helen’s wealthy parent’s estate in Montauk, New York, the family heads to the Lobster Roll, where Alison Lockhart (Ruth Wilson) works. After decades of anticipation, Patricia Cornwell’s best-selling book series finally makes it to the small screen. Prime Video’s forensic crime thriller stars Nicole Kidman as Dr Kay Scarpetta, a highly skilled medical examiner who’s determined to identify a serial killer, and to prove that her career-making case from almost 30 years ago isn’t going to undo all her hard work.

Set across two timelines, the eight-part drama also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Bobby Cannavale, Simon Baker and Ariana DeBose.

Virgin River

Season six’s wedding(s) finale was a long time coming after two years of Jack (Martin Henderson) and Melinda’s (Alexandra Breckenridge) engagement. FBI season 8

Garden clubs are supposed to be a peaceful retreat, but not for the Grosse Pointe Garden Society. In this drama, four suburban garden club members get their green fingers dirty with a murder mystery.

An epic new adventure awaits in Westeros with the Game of Thrones spin-off A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, which is inspired by George RR Martin’s trio of Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas.

This new addition to the hit fantasy franchise is set around a century before the events of the original saga and 100 years after the first prequel series, House of the Dragon. The six-parter follows knight Ser Duncan the Tall (Peter Claffey) and his squire Prince Aegon "Egg" Targaryen (Dexter Sol Ansell) as they navigate dangerous exploits in a world where the Targaryen family still hold the Iron Throne, but have lost the dragons that made them so respected.

The Beauty

The Beauty is yet another dark creation from the mind of TV hitmaker Ryan Murphy which asks the question: Would you willingly contract a sexually transmitted disease if you knew it would make you beautiful?

Following on from his recent success of Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story and Grotesquerie, The Beauty is inspired by the comic book series of the same name and features an all-star cast of Evan Peters, Ashton Kutcher, Jeremy Pope, Anthony Ramos, and Rebecca Hall. Also making guest appearances are Bella Hadid, Billy Eichner, Meghan Trainor and Ben Platt.

The official plot synopsis reads: "When international supermodels begin dying in gruesome and mysterious ways, FBI Agents Cooper Madsen (Evan Peters) and Jordan Bennett (Rebecca Hall) uncover a conspiracy that threatens the future of humanity. The investigation leads them directly into the crosshairs of The Corporation (Ashton Kutcher), who will stop at nothing to protect his trillion-dollar empire."

Tell Me Lies season 3

The hit psychological drama is back for a third outing on Disney+ (January 13) and this time, Lucy Albright (Grace Van Patten) and Stephen DeMarco (Jackson White) have rekindled their rocky romance as they prepare for spring semester at Baird College.

The hit supernatural drama sees sceptical psychologist Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers) join forces with priest-to-be David Acosta (Mike Colter) and tech expert Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi) to investigate supernatural phenomenon's in the church, including "supposed miracles, demonic possessions and other extraordinary occurrences."

Based on Alice Feeney's novel of the same name, this twisty thriller features Tessa Thompson as Anna, a reclusive news anchor who springs back into action when she finds out about a murder in her sleepy hometown of Dahlonega. As Anna jumps onto the case in search for answers, Detective Jack Harper (Jon Bernthal) is suspicious of her involvement, chasing her into the crosshairs of his own investigation.

Spartacus: House of Ashur is a spin-off to Steven S. DeKnight's Starz series, Spartacus and set in an alternate timeline where the villainous Ashur (Nick E. Tarabay) survives his death, which happened in the third season.

The synopsis hails it as a "thrilling, erotic and history-bending, roller-coaster experience that builds on everything which made the original series a colossal hit." The plot continues: "What if Ashur had lived, and the Romans rewarded his treachery with the gladiator school where he once bled? Welcome to the House of Ashur. No longer a slave, Ashur has clawed his way to power, owning the same ludus that once owned him.

Another epic quest awaits for the titular demigod in Percy Jackson and the Olympians season 2. The Disney Plus show, based on Rick Riordan's iconic fantasy novels, will return on December 10 and sees Percy (Walker Scobell) take on the choppy seas to rescue his friend.

This time, the second season will be adapting Riordan's second novel, The Sea of Monsters, where Percy goes on a quest through this location to save Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and Camp Half-Blood.

As per the official logline: "After Camp Half-Blood’s protective border is breached, Percy Jackson embarks on an epic odyssey into the Sea of Monsters in search of his best friend Grover and the one thing that may save the camp — the Golden Fleece.

Dark Winds season 3

Hailed as "one of TV’s hidden gems" by What To Watch writer Michael Balderston, Dark Winds season 3 is set to blow us away on U&Alibi on December 9.

Dark Winds season 3 picks up six months after the events of season 2 and follows Lt. Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) and Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon) as they investigate the disappearance of two boys. Meanwhile, Bernadette Manuelito (Jessica Matten) uncovers a human and drug smuggling conspiracy as she tries to settle into her new life with the Border Patrol.

The Abandons

Saddle up for a Western showdown between Gillian Anderson and Lena Headey as The Abandons rides on to Netflix on December 4. Set in the Washington Territory in 1854, this dusty drama follows the matriarchs of two very different families - the wealthy Van Nesses led by Constance (Gillian Anderson, and the Abandons, a found family of orphans and outcasts protected by Fiona Nolan (Lena Headey).

The families find themselves linked by "two crimes, an awful secret, a star-crossed love, and a piece of land with silver underneath. The collision echoes the American struggle of the haves and have-nots, in a place just beyond the reach of justice."

Doc season 2

The doors of Westside Hospital are swinging back open for Dr. Amy Larsen (Molly Parker) in Doc season 2. The medical drama continues the story of brilliant physician Amy as she tries to rebuild her life after a car crash caused her to forget the last eight years of her life.

As Amy attempts to become the doctor she once was, she will come face-to-face with challenging truths about her missing years and try to repair fractured relationships. In this week's episode, which airs on Sky Witness on December 3, Amy grapples with having memories while treating a mother-to-be with a mysterious condition, and Amy's mentor Dr. Joan Ridley (Felicity Huffman) visits Westside.

Pluribus

After creating the critically acclaimed Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, Vince Gilligan has another TV masterpiece on his hands with Pluribus. The Apple TV sci-fi show centres on Carol Sturka (Rhea Seehorn) and a small group of others who are immune to a virus that has transformed humanity into a happy, hive mind. This collective consciousness known as "the Others" are on a mission to assimilate Carol and the individuals to join them, forcing her to save humanity from its own bliss.

Episode 6 airs on December 5 and it's worth watching purely for Seehorn's performance of the cynical novelist. Caryn James writes in her BBC review: "Seehorn's empathetic performance is both dramatic and witty, grounding the sci-fi plot in her visceral, fearful, determined reactions."

We're heading back to the Upside Down as the final season of Netflix's sci-fi juggernaut Stranger Things premieres with the first four episodes on November 27 in the UK. After nearly ten years of suffering Vecna's reign of terror, Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and the gang must unite to find and kill the monstrous creature.

In Watson, the beloved character (played by Morris Chestnut) is at the heart of the action and takes place six months after his partner Sherlock dies at the hands of Moriarty.

The official plot reads: "The show stars Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson, who resumes his medical career as the head of a clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders. Mayor of Kingstown has been re-elected on Paramount Plus as season 4 of the hit crime thriller airs on October 26. Co-created by Yellowstone's Taylor Sheridan, Mayor of Kingstown season 4 once again follows Mike McLusky (Jeremy Renner) as he tries to maintain order in the corrupt town.

Tales of the Walking Dead

Although The Walking Dead came to an end in 2022, it's come back to life in the UK with Tales of the Walking Dead — and even better that the first two episodes drop on Sky Max on October 31, making it perfect Halloween viewing.

Inspired by former US Marine Greg Cope’s memoir, The Pink Marine, Netflix’s Boots stars Miles Heizer (13 Reasons Why) as bullied, gay high-school student Cameron Cope.

It's 1990, when it was still illegal to be gay in the military, and this comedic drama follows troubled Cameron as he impulsively decides to join the Marine Corps in the hope it’ll turn him into a ‘real man’. And he’s not going it alone. Alongside him is his straight best friend Ray McAffey (Liam Oh), who’s following in the footsteps of his own father, a decorated military man.

Joining a diverse group of recruits at boot camp, for Cameron’s sexuality to be revealed would mean a prison sentence – or worse. This coming-of-age eight-parter promises a lot of heart and sharp wit as it navigates friendship and resilience. It also stars Vera Farmiga (Bates Motel) as Cameron’s narcissistic mother, Barbara.

The Last Frontier season 1

If you love high-octane, stunt-filled dramas with things exploding, then Apple TV+’s The Last Frontier is a must-see.

When a prison transport plane crashes in the Alaskan wilderness, chaos ensues, and it’s up to Frank Remnick (Jason Clarke) as the sole US marshal in charge of the area, to deal with the unprecedented situation.

And it soon becomes clear that this was no accident. With 11 convicts captured and 18 missing, Remnick learns that an unscheduled pick-up was made to collect a prisoner known as Havelock. When boarding the plane, he was hooded and restrained, but it seems he may have known what was about to happen. And this is his one shot at freedom.

It’s a race against time as the town and its residents come under threat. But what exactly does Havelock may have had planned?

The 10-part series begins with a two-episode drop, followed by weekly episodes and the ensemble cast includes Dominic Cooper, Haley Bennett, Simone Kessell, Dallas Goldtooth, Tait Blum and Alfre Woodard.

Twisted Metal, season 1

Having previously aired on Paramount+, this action comedy that’s based on a PlayStation game, now arrives free-to-air on BBC One, with two episodes a week.

Set in a post-apocalyptic US – now known as the Divided States Of America, with cities having become walled fortresses – it stars John Mackie (Captain America) as John Doe, a very chatty milkman who not only has amnesia, but also a strange past. This outsider is offered the chance of a better life by Raven (Neve Campbell) if he agrees to retrieve a mysterious package. But his mission takes him into terrifying territories, and he encounters some dangerous characters, including a sinister clown known as Sweet Tooth.

Some great gags and the good news that the 10-part series has been recommissioned for a second run.

All Creatures Great and Small, 5, 9 pm

It’s always a treat to be heading back to Darrowby, and as the sixth series begins, we jump forward in time almost four years to May 1945 when the dark days of war are nearly at an end. While James (Nicholas Ralph) and Helen (Rachel Shenton) are busier than ever following the arrival of their second child, Rosie, Tristan (Callum Woodhouse) is home from the front. But all eyes are on Siegfried (Samuel West), who is at peak crabbiness and is letting Skeldale House drown in absolute chaos. There’s only one thing for Tristan and a super-stressed James to do – seek out an absent Mrs Hall (Anna Madeley)…

House of Guinness, Netflix

Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight takes us inside another family dynasty in a period drama delving into the history of Ireland’s famous stout empire. Set in 1868, the tale opens on the day of Sir Benjamin Guinness’ funeral, as his children (played by Anthony Boyle, Emily Fairn, Fionn O’Shea and Louis Partridge) face up to the task of running the world famous St James’s Gate Brewery. Some are better prepared than others, and Knight relishes the chance to put a modern spin on a 19th-century story, as four very different siblings wrestle with responsibility and legacy in a wild tale that froths with forbidden love and rebellion.

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK, BBC3, 9 pm

Grab your lashes and prepare for 10 weeks of sequins and sass as Mama Ru is back for a glitter-soaked seventh series. Twelve fabulous new Queens enter the Werk Room (check them out in Meet the Queens earlier at 8.40pm), with beauties including Paige Three and Bonnie Ann Clyde hoping to impress judges RuPaul, Alan Carr, Graham Norton and Michelle Visage with their outrageous runway looks and lip-sync talent. Who will be winner of week one and a coveted RuPeter badge? And who must sashay away from the competition?

Slow Horses, Apple TV Plus

The Slow Horses team are now on their fifth series in less than four years, but their quick work certainly doesn't seem to be adversely affecting the show's quality, as this could well be their best investigation yet.

The six-parter sees geeky hacker Roddy Ho (Christopher Chung) dragged into a terrorist conspiracy, which begins when he snares himself an implausibly glamorous girlfriend. As ever, the strength of this grimy espionage thriller lies in the wonderful character depth of the Slough House misfits, especially Jackson Lamb, with Sir Gary Oldman playing the slobbish spymaster wonderfully.

The Hack, ITV1, 9 pm (ITVX box set)

Set between 2002 and 2012, this drama intertwines two real-life stories: the uncovering of illegal phone tapping that took place at the News of the World newspaper and the investigation into the unsolved murder of private investigator Daniel Morgan. David Tennant stars as investigative journalist Nick Davies, who uncovered the phone hacking scandal, where journalists were found to have tapped phones, bribed police officers and exercised improper influence in pursuit of stories, while Toby Jones is former editor-in-chief of The Guardian Alan Rusbridger. Robert Carlyle plays former Met Police detective chief superintendent Dave Cook.

Stranded on Honeymoon Island, BBC1, 9 pm

It’s the final week for the honeymooners in the Philippines night, there’s one last Couples’ Cove event and, naturally, it’s and their speed-dating event in London must seem like a not without drama, while Friday sees a surprise visit from long time ago. In tonight’s episode, those missing home will the programme’s host, Davina McCall. She has some news be thrilled to see family and friends arriving for a visit – but about a final chance to ‘flare out’ – so who will be making a will the new partners get the seal of approval? Tomorrow commitment to stay together?

We've all faced the disappointment of finding a US drama we really want to watch, only for it not to be available in the UK.

The US is constantly creating must-see entertainment content and you might be thinking that these programs are only available to US audiences — but that's not the case.

Thanks to these US streaming platforms securing deals with UK broadcasters like Sky and ITV, we can now watch award-winning content from a variety of genres. Although the UK isn't guaranteed the same release date as those across the pond, it saves you from waiting an age until they reach UK screens.

Here are the US dramas available to watch on both UK channels and streaming this week, as well as our top picks.

Monster: The Ed Gein Story

Monster: The Ed Gein Story is the third season of Ryan Murphy's true crime anthology, which lands on Netflix on October 3. After his terrifying takes on Jeffrey Dahmer and Lyle and Erik Menendez, Murphy's latest project focuses on convicted murderer and suspected serial killer Ed Gein (Charlie Hunnam).

Gein, also known as 'The Butcher of Plainfield,' terrorised rural Wisconsin and confessed to killing two women between 1954-1957. His crimes went on to inspire a number of classic horror films, such as The Silence of the Lambs, Psycho and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre.

Netflix reveals that it's the "most harrowing instalment yet" as "Monster: The Ed Gein Story tells the story of how one simple man in Plainfield, Wisconsin, became history’s most singular ghoul. He revealed to the world the most horrific truth of all — that monsters aren’t born, they’re made... by us."

The Rookie season 7

Although nothing seems to be stopping cop John Nolan (Nathan Fillion), it can't be said for The Rookie season 7 as it concludes on Sky Witness on September 30.

The Rookie follows forty-year-old John, who moves to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of joining the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). As their oldest rookie, he's met with disbelief by colleagues who view him as a walking midlife crisis and must navigate the challenges of being a cop.

What To Watch writer Terrell Smith writes that: "The series has become ABC's premier crime procedural and continues to wow viewers who clamour for more." So it's good news that The Rookie has since been renewed for another season.

Billy the Kid season 3

Billy the Kid season 3 gallops its way onto MGM+ on September 28, with Tom Blyth reprising his role as the notorious outlaw for one last ride. This refreshing modern Western story explores the life of Billy the Kid through exciting action, so saddle up as this saga is set to come to an epic conclusion.

Billy and Sheriff Pat Garrett (Alex Roe) have a reckoning to come; meanwhile, "Billy has the opportunity to quit New Mexico altogether and pursue a future with Dulcinea (Nuria Vega), the love of his life. But he has unfinished business with Garrett, who has betrayed him, and decides to stay. Jesse Evans (Daniel Webber), Billy’s long-time friend, rival, and enemy, also remains in Lincoln, searching for a newfound purpose and perhaps atonement for his sins. Billy will fight like hell to try to finally find the justice that has long eluded him, even if it means he’ll die trying."

The Great British Bake Off, C4, 8 pm

Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith often remind us of those firm but fair teachers who we were slightly scared of, but who had a twinkle in their eye, and that's the case as they celebrate Back to School Week. The challenges hark back to the golden days of school dinners: flapjacks for the Signature, cake with (lump-free!) custard – which Prue wants the bakers to make not with ‘modern equipment’ but ‘elbow grease’! – and a Showstopper involving a school fete stall display. Who has done their homework to make the grade as Star Baker?

Michael Palin in Venezuela, 5, 9 pm

There’s no doubt Sir Michael Palin has been to some dangerous places over the years. But there’s a particularly fraught second leg to his Venezuelan adventure, thanks to a frightening encounter with the country’s notorious intelligence services who detain him and his film crew for seven hours! Michael also meets mobsters in the heart of Venezuela’s gangland, takes a ride on the tallest cable car in the world in the Andes, and gets up close and uncomfortably personal with a 10ft anaconda. What’s more extraordinary is the octogenarian takes it all in his stride.

Stacey & Joe, BBC1, 8 pm

Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash prepare to celebrate her eldest son Zach's 17th birthday. There's a lovely low-key family meal of fish and chips, but not before Stacey and Joe have a contest to see who can whip up the best lemon drizzle birthday cake – no spoilers! And Stacey plots to expand her smallholding with a beehive – messaging bee lover David Beckham for advice! Another episode buzzing with charm.

ITV at 70, ITVX

Raise a glass to a couple of sprightly 70-year-olds – on 22 September 1955, TV Times launched its first issue and ITV began to broadcast. The channel has entertained millions since with dramas such as Upstairs, Downstairs, The Jewel in the Crown and Downton Abbey; soaps Coronation Street, Crossroads and Emmerdale; children’s shows like the iconic Thunderbirds; and entertainment including Blind Date. You can still see many of the historic programmes – and more up-to-date ones like the award-winning Mr Bates vs The Post Office – on ITVX, and look out for new special documentaries ITV News at 70 and Around the Regions. Here’s to many more years of brilliant TV!

The Guest, BBC1, 9 pm

Parts of this psychological thriller series may have felt a little far-fetched, but any slightly wrong notes have been worth it for tonight’s brilliantly dramatic finale. Ria (Gabrielle Creevy) and Fran (Eve Myles) both find themselves in a desperate situation, and although they’ve proved their street smarts in the past, this time they may not be able to rely on their wits alone. But while Ria may have just enough ties to her old life to fall back on, Fran soon finds that doors are closed in her face at every turn. Will Fran’s survival instinct be enough to see her come out on top? And does Ria have any chance left of ‘taking the loaf’ – not just the crumbs – as Fran urged her at the beginning of their relationship?

Jamie: Eat Yourself Healthy, C4, 8 pm

Week in, week out, we’ve been impressed with Jamie Oliver’s ability to reel off fact-filled nutritional science at the same time he’s chopping away or stirring at his island hob. And we feel we’ve learnt a lot. This week’s closing focus is on the power of protein to keep energy levels stable, and dishes include a stew to boost bone health containing calcium-rich tofu and vitamin D-packed mushrooms, while a hassle-free one-cup recipe for pancakes with wholemeal flour and yogurt also fits the bill.

Coldwater, ITV1, 9 pm

No matter how annoying your neighbours may be, unless you're very unlucky they're not as terrifyingly weird as Ewen Bremner’s Tommy (the actor plays creepy and menacing so convincingly he even manages to make the word "moussaka" sound threatening). Neighbour Fiona (Indira Varma) has had enough of him, calling him "poison", and while her husband John (Andrew Lincoln) is repelled by the same behaviour, he’s bound to Tommy in ways that would horrify Fiona if she knew. But is mild-mannered John about to turn? He's under massive pressure and has had a lot to deal with, and now it’s starting to feel like his real fight-or-flight moment has just arrived.

Top Guns: The Next Generation, National Geographic, 9 pm

Following a class of students who are taking on the final stages of the US Navy's advanced fighter training programme, this six-part series reveals exactly what it takes to become an elite pilot. The documentary joins the navy and marine corps students as they attempt a series of high-stakes, high-pressure manoeuvres such as dogfighting, aircraft-carrier landings and low-level flying in order to get their coveted gold wings. In the first episode, we see the cadets carry out precision-bombing exercises and, as some pilots struggle, it’s clear that there is definitely no room for error.

Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams: Ultimate Test, BBC1, 8.15 pm

"What can you do? You can't tie him to the wickets, can you?" jokes Freddie as another recruit loses interest and wanders off the pitch in Newton Heath. Mind you, it’s starting to feel like anything might be worth a try as attendance at the Manchester cricket club drops so low that the boys can't get a team out. Led by the irrepressible Presley, can they drum up enough new players to save the side?

Meanwhile, the Blackpool girls are buzzing after their first competitive game, and the boys of Bootle have a surprise opponent for their second…

Given that my job is to cover streaming services for What to Watch, I often have to start far more TV shows than I could feasibly finish. However over the years, I've found a fool-proof way of weeding out the best Netflix shows that doesn't take any time.

This 'test' lets me watch just a single episode of a series on Netflix, be it an original creation or something the streamer added, and determine whether it's an addictive binge or just another forgettable piece of 'content' for the streamer.

Admittedly, not a single series from 2025 has passed this test, but that says more about the streamer's own quality rather than the efficacy of this test. So without further ado, let me introduce the Seinfeld Test...

The Seinfeld Test

One of the most popular draws for any streaming service remains the box-set comedy. In the early days of Netflix people would sign up just to watch The Office and now, entries like Parks & Rec, Superstore and The Peep Show remain easy binge watches that keep people coming back (depending on country, those shows aren't necessarily all on Netflix).

For me, this series is Seinfeld, which is on Netflix in the US, UK and Australia, with all 9 seasons available to view. I've seen it before, and I'll see it again, but it's one of my favorite comedies (my actual favorite, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, isn't available on the ad-supported tier of Netflix which I use, and anyway I've seen it far too many times at this point!).

So what's the Seinfeld Test?

Every time I boot up Netflix, one of the first things I see is the 'Continue Watching' bar. This will, of course, include Seinfeld, but usually after one or two of the various Netflix shows I've tested. I like the classic comedy but I'm not such an addict that I'm watching it every day.

The Test, though, is what I'll click when I see this carousel. If I'm genuinely interested in a show, to see where its story takes it or how the characters develop, I'll click on the next episode to continue the series. If not, I'll click Seinfeld to sink back into my comfort show.

A problem with the test

My test works because while I like Seinfeld, I'm not addicted to it, and I'd gladly watch something else if it gripped me. There are a few series I've gotten really stuck into this year like Andor season 2, Foundation season 3, The Studio and High Potential (which only came to the UK this year, so I'm counting it, but I've already started season 2).

The problem is that none of these series have been Netflix ones. In fact, not a single series has passed the test this year. Many series I start fail the test because they just don't make an impression on me, and an increasing number of Netflix Originals this year have actively irked me for one reason or another (most recently was Untamed because of how Eric Bana's character is told he's alcoholic yet in the first episode we never see him drink, and it's funny watching how hard the show tries to bend over backwards to avoid showing him imbibe).

The last Netflix series I finished was Black Doves from last year, and even that I totally forgot about until writing this article (as the similarly-titled Black Rabbit just came out).

And my test doesn't apply for movies, which you sit down and finish in one go. I'm more of a film fan anyway, although Prime Video is still my go-to for those.

Of all What to Watch's writers, I'm probably the most down on Netflix — every time the editor-in-chief asks if I've seen anything good to see on the streamer, to add to our round-ups, the answer is invariably "no" — and I'd say this test is probably to blame, having highlighted how I'd rather watch a 35-year-old show that I've seen before, rather than whatever Netflix has out this week.

Hopefully that'll change before the year is out. Stranger Things season 5 and A Man on the Inside season 2, both in November, return shows I'd previously binged, which is probably the streamer's best bet of beating the test.
