Prime Day is here, and with it comes a number of deals on just about everything you could dream of from e-tail giant Amazon. Of course, being the movie and TV lovers that we are, deals on titles we enjoy and ways to help us watch them are big draws today. For myself, one that has caught my eye is the chance to get the entirety of Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone series.

Well, almost complete. With the second half of Yellowstone season 5 making its long awaited premiere this November, Amazon has deals on a DVD box set that includes the first four seasons of Yellowstone and its prequel series 1883, as well as individual deals on other prequel series 1923 and Yellowstone season 5 Part 1.

The Yellowstone: The Dutton Legacy Collection is the one that includes Yellowstone season 1-4 and 1883 (all on Blu-ray), and with its Prime Day Deal is available for a 33% discount, down to $74.99 from $111.99. You can then get the 1923 season 1 Blu-ray set for $15.49, a 52% discount from its usual $31.99 price, and Yellowstone season 5 Part 1 on Blu-ray for $12.49, a 63% discount from its standard $33.99 price. All told, the entire collection would cost you $102.97; less than the normal price of the Yellowstone: The Dutton Legacy Collection.

Of course, in addition to having all the episodes, these DVD collections for Yellowstone and its prequel series also offer behind-the-scenes features and interviews with cast and creatives. Getting the entire collection also allows you to have the entirety of Yellowstone in one place, rather than have to sign up for Peacock to stream Yellowstone episodes and Paramount Plus for 1883 and 1923 (just in US; in the UK all shows are available on Paramount Plus).

Yellowstone is a modern-day western that follows the Dutton family, who own the largest contiguous ranch in the US. However, there are many forces both from outside and within that put them at risk from losing it all. The series stars Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Cole Hauser, Wes Bentley, Kelsey Asbille, Gil Birmingham, Brecker Merrill and Jefferson White.

1883 is a prequel series that follows the first Duttons to head west, embarking on a dangerous journey in search of a land they can call their own. The series, which only has one season, stars Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, Isabel May, Sam Elliott, LaMonica Garrett, James Landry Herbert, Marc Rissman and Gratiela Brancusi.

1923 picks up the Dutton story 40 years in the future, as the family builds and defends their ranch during the Great Depression, westward expansion and in the aftermath of World War I. This series stars Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Brandon Sklenar, Julia Schlaepfer, Darren Mann, Jerome Flynn, Timothy Dalton, Michelle Randolph, Aminah Nieves and Brian Geraghty. There are plans for a 1923 season 2.

Happy Prime Day everyone! The annual discount day on e-tail giant Amazon always makes for some fun shopping or just browsing if you like. As a fan of physical media, this is a great opportunity to score some fantastic deals on DVDs at discounted prices. But while I was scoping out the best Prime Day Deals on DVDs, I couldn't help but notice one for the classic Rocky movie franchise.

It's a 4K UHD box set (with digital downloads available) that is being discounted 36% from $59.99 to $38.14. Honestly, that's a pretty solid deal, as first-run Blu-rays and 4K UHD DVDs can run $30 or more for just one movie. However on closer inspection there is something missing from this Rocky DVD set: Rocky V.

Officially titled Rocky: The Knockout Collection, the DVD box set only has the first four movies in Sylvester Stallone's iconic boxing franchise: the Best Picture-winning 1976 Rocky, 1979's Rocky II, 1982's Rocky III and 1985's Rocky IV. Rocky V, which came out in 1990, is completely absent from the box set, which for any Rocky fan is really just hilarious.

The box set has done what many fans of the Rocky franchise wish they could and forget about Rocky V. The fifth installment is universally seen as the worst entry in the franchise. It focuses on Rocky after his fight with Ivan Drago, suffering from tremors that force him to retire from boxing. Missing the ring, Rocky takes a young up-and-coming boxer under his wing, Tommy Gunn. However, the relationship sours and the two end up having a street brawl. Despite John G. Avildsen returning to direct Rocky V after helming the original and all of the usual cast back (Stallone, Talia Shire, Burt Young), the movie has a 33% "Rotten" score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes; it's even lower among general audiences, at 31%.

For the completists out there this may be an improper exclusion, but for myself and others, it honestly makes the DVD set more appealing. Of course, if we really wanted to be completists, we'd need Rocky Balboa and at least Creed and Creed II to complete the Rocky story (Creed III is the first time Stallone did not appear in a movie set in that universe).

In addition to the theatrical versions of the first four movies, Rocky: The Knockout Collection also has Rocky vs Drago: The Ultimate Director's Cut and The Making of Rocky vs Drago: Keep Punching.

If this has put you in the mood to watch the Rocky movies but you've said goodbye to physical media, all of the original Rocky movies are available to stream on Prime Video for subscribers (or rent for non subscribers), including Rocky V.

Here's another Amazon Prime Day deal you're definitely going to want to check out. If you snag a new Amazon Fire TV or Fire tablet device (we've got the list of eligible models below), Amazon is going to hook you up with three free months of the Disney bundle.

That means you'll get three months — free — of Disney+, a basic Hulu subscription, and ESPN+. The bundle normally runs $13.99 a month, so you're saving about $42 here.

The Disney Bundle really is just about the best streaming deal around. It gets you three subscriptions for the price of two, and pretty much runs the gamut of content. Disney+, of course, is home to all things Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and National Geographic. It's home to new originals like Star Wars: The Bad Batch, Loki, and WandaVision.

Hulu — well, it's Hulu. It's got the massive catalog of on-demand titles, with some of the most popular and best shows and movies around. Hulu also is home to new exclusives like The Handmaid's Tale.

And ESPN+ is the streaming sports service that's a must-have for anyone who loves sports. You can watch more live events than could possibly fit on TV, from pretty much any sport that exists. It's also the exclusive home of UFC pay-per-view events. In addition to live sports, ESPN+ also has a bunch of exclusive original content, led by Peyton Manning and Peyton's Places.

This may well be the best Amazon Prime Day deal we see. The original Apple TV 4K is on sale for just $99 for the 32GB model. Normally when it comes to previous-gen tech we'd tell you to stay away. And that'd particularly be true for something that was released in 2017. 

But this is the exception. The original Apple TV 4K was that good, and remains that good, even though it was just replaced by a newer model. But that previous-generation processor remains more than powerful enough to get the job done, and then so. All the apps you could ever need to watch all the shows you want to watch are still supported. And you'll still have 4K resolution support, Dolby Vision for HDR, and Dolby Atmos for audio.

Look, there's a reason we say Apple TV 4K is the best streaming device. Because it is.

The only real negative mark with this deal is that you'll get the previous-generation remote control. It works. But it's not great. You can get the new Siri remote for $60. But that takes your total up to what you'd pay for the newest Apple TV 4K. Just something to remember.

If you think you can hack it with that other remote control — or if you have a Logitech Harmony remote laying around — this is a hell of a deal on streaming hardware that doesn't see many discounts.

TVs are one of the biggest deals on Amazon Prime Day. And it's hard to beat this deal on the Sony X900H.

The 85-inch model (it also comes in 55, 65 and 75 inches) is a whopping 31 percent off for Amazon Prime Day, meaning you can get this monster in your living room for less than $1,800. (Plus it'll be delivered for free, which is no small thing.)

The X900H supports 4K resolution by default, of course. (How could it not at that size?) It also makes way for Dolby Vision for HDR (and that's the flavor of HDR you really do want), and Dolby Atmos for audio. For content that's not natively presented in 4K resolution, the TV will upscale things using Sony's 4K X-Reality PRO system. And a full-array LED panel will help make colors as bright as they can be, and darks as dark as they can be.

Gamers also have something to look forward to. The X900H has a 120Hz refresh rate and will push 120 frames per second at 4K, so that's good. There's also a dedicated game mode.

The X900H also supports all the smart assistants you can possibly want. Google Assistant is baked in, and there's also room for Amazon Alexa. The TV also supports Apple's AirPlay 2 and HomeKit.

Really, it's tough to go wrong here.

Amazon Prime Day is here. Almost. And that's good enough to get the ball rolling on Amazon's annual sales extravaganza not just for our purposes, but for Amazon's, too. 

In other words, the hot deals on things you might well want to watch the things you want to watch already have begun.

Amazon Prime Day — can we just call it Prime Month already? — means that you're going to save a ton on Amazon products, of course. That means things like Amazon Fire TV Edition televisions. That means Amazon Fire TV sticks. That means the Amazon Fire TV Cube. That means the Amazon Echo. That means the Amazon Echo Show.

Here's the thing about deals on televisions for Amazon Prime Day: It's possible to get something super inexpensive. But that doesn't mean you should.

If something says 720p on it, just keep walking. You don't want it. At bare minimum any TV you buy in 2021 should say at least "1080p" on it. And even then, know that you're not exactly buying something that's up to par for the year in which you're living — to say nothing of getting something that's future-proof.

Maybe it's OK if you're getting something for a kid's playroom. But nothing more sophisticated than that.
