Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway 2023: When does it start?

Officially the happiest 90 minutes of the week, Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway returns for its 19th season on Saturday, February 25 at 7 pm on ITV1. 

For the first show, actor David Tennant is live in the studio as Guest Announcer and chart-topper Tom Grennan stars in a mind-blowing End Of The Show Show. Plus, there is lots more fun, frolics and audience surprises.

"It’s unlike any other show we do. It’s live, frantic and anything can happen. We love being part of it, creating ideas for it and having a laugh on a Saturday night," says Ant, with Dec adding: "The beauty of Takeaway is there are lots of elements that we constantly interchange, which always keeps it fresh for us and the audience. And keeps us on our toes!"

Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway 2023: Is the Undercover segment back?

Yup! We love this strand which sees Ant and Dec prank a celebrity by putting them in a sticky situation, then surprise them in disguise. Among the famous faces getting the Undercover treatment this series, are Strictly: It Takes Two host Rylan Clark and This Morning presenter Alison Hammond.

"Alison’s was a night in a creepy, old hotel that we set up but she kind of scuppered our plans when she turned up and refused to stay there because it looked too scary! She got back in the car and said she was going home — so it was going to be a very short Undercover until we managed to manufacture a situation to make for her to stay for a while," says Dec. 

Ant adds: "Anything that could go wrong, did go wrong that night. She went to the wrong location to start with, then she refused to stay at the hotel because it felt too creepy. We’d almost done too good a job at making it spooky!"

Yes, that's back too, with celebrities including The Body Coach himself Joe Wicks and The Traitors host Claudia Winkleman being instructed by Ant and Dec — via a concealed earpiece — to wind up unsuspecting members of the public.

"We’ve been trying to do Joe Wicks for years, but he was always so busy," explains Ant. 

"This year he finally had a gap and let us into his ear. I think he immediately regretted it when we started getting him to do things that embarrassed him!"

Following last year’s spooky mini-serial Polter Guys, this series boasts a spoof 'whodunnit murder mystery' in the shape of Murder at Bigwig Manor. 

"We’ve got Richard Wilson from classic sitcom One Foot in the Grave playing the head of ITV," reveals Dec. "He’s called a load of TV stars to his remote mansion to announce who’ll be the host of the hottest new TV show. One by one, all the stars in the running start getting killed off, so we have to find the murderer before we get done, too!"

And, as always, the mini-serial features cameos from a whole host of TV favourites...

"It’s got cameos from the likes of Davina McCall, Judi Love, Dermot O’Leary and AJ Odudu," reveals Ant, "with Stephanie Cole playing Stephen Mulhern’s Nanna!"

Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway 2023: Will the series finale take place abroad?

Due to the pandemic, the 2019 series was the last time Saturday Night Takeaway brought us its grand finale from Walt Disney World in Orlando. But now it looks like their usual jaunt to sunnier climes could be back on... 

"Yes it could all change and you’ve got to watch the first episode to find out where it could possibly be," says Ant, with Dec adding: "And how you could possibly get there with us!"

Ant & Dec's Christmas Limitless Win sees the Geordie presenting duo kicking off the second series of their hit game show in style with a celebrity special just in time for this year's Christmas TV schedule!

Who are the celebrity guests?

As we've mentioned, Ant and Dec will be joined by two pairs of stars to help kick off the new season of Limitless Win. 

In place of normal contestants, Katherine Ryan and Jimmy Carr and Rylan Clark and David Walliams will be teaming up to take on the bigger-than-ever money ladder and trying to bag plenty of money for their charities.

Talking about the gameplay, Ant said: "‘The celebrities come in and it all starts out quite fun, with lots of laughs. But as soon as they get up the ladder and they’re playing for money, and for charity, then the pressure hits them and everything changes.

He added: "For one celeb pair, their first question is related to Christmas and everyone will know the answer to it. But as soon as it comes to them physically locking it in, well, they just lose their bottle! It shows that you can be clever and know your stuff, but there’s also got to be an element of bravery to walk away with a serious amount of cash!"

How does Ant & Dec's Christmas Limitless Win work?

Fans of Ant & Dec's Limitless Win will be right at home with the festive special, as the celebs will be tackling a range of fiendish new questions to try and climb the ladder (which has been given a makeover and made bigger-than-ever for season 2!). 

Some of the questions they've teased so far include 'How many segments are in a chocolate orange' and 'How long is a man's size 10 foot in centimeters'; our celebrity guest stars will definitely need their thinking caps on!

Dec said: "We got a lot of feedback after the first series with people saying, ‘This is really tense! It’s hard to watch, it’s nerve-shredding!’ and this year it’s even more so. Sorry guys! We get higher up the ladder and more often. Contestants are nervous and stressed… they’re playing for very, very big sums of money. It’s really nerve-wracking. Very, very tense at times with a lot of jeopardy, but God it’s really watchable!"

With the launch date of I'm A Celebrity 2022 now just days away, we're all waiting to learn which celebs will be entering the jungle this time around. Whilst we'll have to wait just a little bit longer to find out their identities, Ant and Dec don't have to!

In a clip shared across Ant and Dec's social media channels, we see a producer revealing the celebrities to the presenter duo. It's safe to say the pair are very excited, as the pair share all sorts of reactions as they cheer, laugh, and are stunned by some of the stars who've signed on for the show.

Of two of the stars they saw, Declan Donnelly said "she's fun and feisty" and "she would hate every minute of it", whilst a pleased Ant McPartlin says "we knew we'd get you on there one of these days" about another.

As we aren't shown any faces in the video, we're still not sure which stars will be heading into the Australian jungle this November for the latest installment of I'm A Celebrity. However, there are still plenty of rumors about who might be popping up.

Some of the celebrities who could be part of this year's celebrity line-up include former Radio 1 DJ, Chris Moyles, rugby union star Mike Tindall, RuPaul's Drag Race winner The Vivienne and EastEnders legend, Danny Dyer, who is due to leave Walford later this year.

There's also a chance that Richard Madeley could be up for making a return to the jungle after he had to leave the show in 2021 for health reasons, though none of these big names have been confirmed at the time of writing.

Simon Cowell has expressed his delight in welcoming Ant McPartlin back to Britain’s Got Talent, after the TV star revealed he was taking a one-year break from presenting roles.

The 58-year-old music mogul said Ant's decision to take time off work, as he recovers from drug and alcohol addiction, was the "right thing to do".

Speaking in an interview, he revealed he was looking  forward to seeing Ant back on BGT in the near future.

“That is what I always thought would happen, so I am happy to hear that. He is welcome back and we have missed him,' he told The Sun

“But he has done the right thing by taking some time off, and he will come back fresh and will enjoy it.”

Simon’s kind words come after the 42-year-old presenter revealed he was taking time off until 2019 in order to focus on healing himself.

Releasing a statement last month, he explained: "My recovery is going very well and for that to continue having spoken to Dec and ITV, I have made the decision to take the rest of the year off.

“I’d like to thank both Dec and ITV for their continued support and I look forward to getting back to work in the new year.”

The break meant he would no longer be presenting the upcoming series of I'm A Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here! in November.

And it left many fans wondering who’ll take his place alongside longtime TV partner Declan Donnelly.

But much to everyone’s delight, this week Holly Willoughby, 37, confirmed she’d be keeping the legendary presenter’s shoes “warm” while he worked on his recovery.

“I couldn't be more excited to have been asked to stand alongside Dec for the next jungle adventure. I love Ant and want to send him my best wishes and support for a continued recovery,” the This Morning star revealed in a statement.

She added: "These are big shoes, not to fill, but just to keep warm for a little bit... Honestly, I'm a huge fan of I'm a Celebrity and actually feel like I've won a competition to go and hang out on my favourite show! When is it a good time to tell Dec I'm scared of everything that moves?!"

The boys will be the subject of a documentary

Ant and Dec might be taking a break as a duo right now but fans will get to see them together again in a new programme.

It’s been revealed that the boys will be the subject of a documentary celebrating their 30 years in showbiz and it will feature various highlights from the many shows they’ve been a part of over the years.

Famous friends will also be involved in the Channel 5 doc to discuss the pair’s achievements and amongst them is Peter Andre, who has given fans a teaser of what to expect.

“Last week I filmed a TV segment for Ant and Dec’s 30th anniversary, which was good fun!” the singer wrote in his New! magazine column. “I’m unsure when it will air, but it was great to take a trip down memory lane and remember the great things I’ve been involved in with the boys over the years.

“Everything from living above them 22 years ago, when they were PJ and Duncan, to appearing in various shows with them.”

It comes after Ant McPartlin stepped down from his TV commitments when he was arrested for drink-driving in March following a three-car crash in London.

In the wake of the incident the 42-year-old sought treatment in rehab - having been found to be twice the legal limit when he crashed the vehicle - and was disqualified from driving for 20 months when he appeared in court last month. He was additionally fined £86,000.

“I let myself down, I let a lot of people down, for that I'm truly sorry. I'd like to apologise to everyone involved in the crash and I'm just thankful no-one was seriously hurt,” Ant told reporters outside of court.

Meanwhile Declan Donnelly, 42, hosted the pair’s show Saturday Night Takeaway by himself for the remainder of the series and will do the same when it comes to the live shows of Britain’s Got Talent.

Ant McPartlin is expected to be host I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here this year, the ITV’s director of television has said.

The TV star recently revealed he nearly died as he battled depression, alcohol and substance abuse.

Ant – one half of much-loved duo Ant and Dec – entered rehab in June after struggling with a two-year addiction to super-strength painkillers following a knee operation in 2015.

The revelation cast doubt over whether he would be able to travel to Australia to host the reality show, but ITV boss Kevin Lygo told the Edinburgh International TV Festival: “Ant is doing really well and we are expecting him to return for I’m a Celebrity.”

He added that sustaining the channel’s biggest hits, including I’m A Celebrity, The X Factor and The Voice, as well as the soaps and daytime offerings, were crucial to its future.

He said: “We don’t often talk about shows that have been on for a long time, but they are vitally important to ITV and we have to put a lot resource and effort and energy into keeping these shows fresh and good.”

He continued: “There have been no new entertainment shows in last 10 years that have taken the world by storm.”

Lygo also addressed the huge success of Love Island on ITV2 over the summer, saying the ratings surge the channel saw have not tempted him to move the show to ITV1.

He said: “You would get a higher rating, but you would lose some of the cache and cool and lose some of the young viewers.

“It was very similar to Big Brother when it was on Channel 4.

“Love Island was a phenomenon. They are so rare, these big hits for young people.”

TV presenter Ant McPartlin has revealed how his addiction to prescription drugs almost killed him. Ant started taking painkiller medication following a knee operation in 2015.

Ant McPartlin has revealed how he nearly died after battling with depression, alcohol and substance abuse.

The TV star – one half of Ant and Dec – entered rehab in June after struggling with a two-year addiction to super-strength painkillers following a knee operation in 2015.

He explained how he had been hiding pills in different places to avoid his addiction being detected before a conversation with wife Lisa and TV partner Declan Donnelly got him on the road to recovery.

“I was at the point where anything — prescription drugs, non-prescription drugs — I would take,” he told The Sun on Sunday newspaper in his first interview since leaving rehab.

“And take them with alcohol, which is ridiculous. The doctors told me, ‘You could have killed yourself’. ”

Earlier this year, the 41-year-old asked Lisa to call an ambulance in the early hours of the morning after bingeing on tramadol, morphine and alcohol while recovering from a second knee operation in June.

He told the newspaper: “It was five in the morning and I was screaming in pain so I rang Lisa.

“She was upstairs because I was living in the living room because I couldn’t get around.

“I said, ‘You’re going to have to call me an ambulance. I’m in a bad way’.

He added: “I was insane. It sends you crazy. It was to the point of hearing things, seeing things in the garden and still the pain was getting worse.”

“I was depressed through the whole thing because I was in pain and immobile.”

Following two months of rehab, the Britain’s Got Talent presenter is clean of all drugs other than paracetamol for the first time since 2014.

He would visit different private doctors to get more tramadol prescribed, and recalled one occasion on Saturday Night Takeaway when he and Dec were performing with Take That.

“I knew there was a dance routine involved. I took a load of stuff that day just to get through the day.

“And I couldn’t feel anything on the night. But that did a lot of damage.”

“From the old lady who lies about her Valium supply to someone like me who was necking tramadol to the point of psychosis, in the end it’s the same thing. It’s addiction.”

The issue came to a head earlier this year during Britain’s Got Talent when he delayed a second knee operation to continue working on the ITV show.

After undergoing surgery following the show’s final, McPartlin said he was “just done”, adding: “it was horrendous”.

He added: “Dec came around and he kind of knew it was at the point where I needed help.

“Once I admitted I was in a bad way, they then helped get a team together because obviously I wasn’t in a fit state to do it myself.

“We had an hour’s conversation then I packed my bag and I went.

“I’m lucky because I have the means to do that. But there are a lot of people who don’t. So I’m very grateful.”

Cowell – who has worked with McPartlin for 16 years – told The Sun: “All I can tell you about Ant is he’s one of the most genuine people you’ll ever meet.

“He hasn’t changed in all the years I’ve known him.

“I don’t know details behind the scenes, but when someone has the courage to own it, deal with it, made a public statement, we would a million per cent support him. I think he’ll be fine.”

The music mogul added: “He’s got great people around him and also he’s got a great family around him. Dec’s his best friend.

“We made it clear we would always stand by them.”

Despite the pair’s close working relationship on Britain’s Got Talent, Cowell said he “never” knew about McPartlin’s struggles.

He said: “I mean, look, I have worked in entertainment for a long long time and I’ve seen what happens with pressure. I’m not making excuses here.”

Cowell also told the newspaper it was “100 per cent” feasible that Zayn Malik could return if One Direction ever decided to reform.

He said: “You know, it’s fun being out there on your own, but what I hope is going to happen is that they remember now how much fun it was being in a group.

“I always believe that you don’t make rules, you break the rules. So there’s nothing to stop them – if they want to – getting together for a tour, for an album.

“I made it absolutely clear, obviously, ‘We’re in’, Cowell added.

Ant McPartlin has checked into rehab after confessing to problems with substance abuse, alcohol and depression.

The TV star, one half of presenting duo Ant and Dec, said he wanted to speak out about his issues in order to help others.

McPartlin, 41, told The Sun on Sunday: “I feel like I have let a lot of people down and for that I am truly sorry.

“I want to thank my wife, family and closest friends for helping me through this really difficult time.

“I’ve spoken out because I think it’s important that people ask for help if they’re going through a rough time and get the proper treatment to help their recovery.”

McPartlin is believed to have checked into a rehabilitation facility, where he will remain for up to two months.

The paper has reported that McPartlin’s problems stemmed from failed knee surgery two years ago.

With an ongoing knee complication, McPartlin is said to have started taking prescription drugs to cope with the pain.

A source said that alcohol has also become a cause for concern among friends of the presenter.

His busy work schedule, which sees him, along with professional partner Declan Donnelly, front programmes such as I’m A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here! and Britain’s Got Talent for a large portion of the year, has been an additional factor to McPartlin’s battle with anxiety.

Several stars, such as Lord Sugar and Dame Kelly Holmes, have commended McPartlin for speaking out about his personal issues.

McPartlin is the long-time professional companion of Donnelly. The two having forged a union after starring in children’s drama series Byker Grove together in the 1990s.

They went on to enjoy a music career under the names of their characters PJ & Duncan, releasing songs such as Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble and Shout.

After several years presenting a range of programmes, they landed a job hosting Saturday morning ITV children’s programmes SMTV Live and CD:UK, where they remained for three years from 1998 until 2001.

Jobs on entertainment shows Pop Idol and Friends Like These led to their primetime career taking off in the early noughties, and they are now best-known for their stints on I’m A Celebrity, Britain’s Got Talent and their own entertainment show, Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

Ant and Dec have won the TV presenter award at the National Television Awards for 16 consecutive years.

Last year, the Geordie twosome were awarded OBEs in the Queen’s Birthday Honours for their services to broadcasting and entertainment.

A number of Britain’s Got Talent hopefuls will face off in the first of this year’s semi-finals on Monday night.

A choir made up of the relatives of missing people, a retired registrar-turned-DJ and a south London police officer who dances in his uniform are three of the 40 acts who will take to the stage during the live shows.

As well as the 35 acts put through by the judges in Saturday night’s show, the five golden buzzer acts will return after automatically qualifying for the semi-finals.

Simon Cowell backed teen singer Sarah Ikumu for his golden act while David Walliams pressed his buzzer for former contestant Kyle Tomlinson, 15, who he had previously told to have singing lessons.

Alesha Dixon handed five-piece dance group Just Us, whose lead member battles with the spinal condition scoliosis, their golden moment and Malawian comic Daliso Chaponda was put through by Amanda Holden.

Presenters Ant and Dec used their golden buzzer vote to put Tommy Cooper-esque entertainer Matt Edwards (pictured), 34, straight through to the live shows.

All 40 acts will get a chance to impress the public across the live shows, with one lucky competitor eventually being crowned winner and claiming £250,000 prize money and a spot at the Royal Variety Show.

Matt Edwards from Suffolk received a standing ovation from judges and the audience with his intriguing salt-related trick to the tune of The Champs’s classic track Tequila.

The 34-year-old’s routine – full of wacky facial expressions, dancing and impressions – was compared to famed comedian and magician Tommy by judge Amanda Holden, who called him “old-school with a twist, which is perfect for Britain’s Got Talent”.

As the judges continued to offer praise, the presenting duo paced on to the stage telling the panel “excuse us a second” before pushing the golden buzzer as Edwards sank to his knees in disbelief.

Dec said the pair had decided to back the magician-come-entertainer to offer him a hand-up.

He said: “He’s 34 years old and for some reason he hasn’t been given the break up until now, and we just wanted to be there and do it.”

Ant added: “We were laughing so much I thought I was going to pee myself.”

Offering praise to Edwards, Simon Cowell told him: “I’ve got to be honest, when you started with that voice I thought ‘it’s going to be really annoying’ but you are brilliant.

“I’m surprised you haven’t had a break yet, Matthew, because you’re really likeable, and nuts.

“You’ve just got something about you, an energy. This is what we look for in these shows, people who have got star quality, I’ve just got a feeling about you.”

The golden buzzer sends Matt directly to the competition’s live semi-final, an honour so far earned by teen singer Sarah Ikumu, female dance troupe Just Us and Malawian comic Daliso Chaponda.

Other successful acts in the latest round of auditions included a troupe of terrifying clown-faced dancers and a Welsh choir of schoolgirls who have only been performing together for a year.

The choir, made up of girls between the ages of 11 and 17, received a standing ovation for their moving performance of Nessun Dorma, which Simon said was the “most beautiful, incredible version” he had ever heard as they received four yeses.

Dance group The Next Generation’s horror-filled routine to a medley of songs including Neyo’s Monster was described as “horrible” by Holden while Simon admitted “you really scared me” as they received another four yeses.

Meanwhile, 74-year-old singer-come-entertainer Mal Ford – who spent years managing artists and travelling the world – won over the crowd with his left-field performance.

Ford, from Blackpool, roped in Ant and Dec to help him with his second song as he ignored the four red buzzers and successfully convinced the judges to send him through to the next round.

How did the idea for The Keith and Paddy Picture Show come about? Keith: "Back in 2009, when we performed (I've Had) The Time of My Life from the film Dirty Dancing on Let’s Dance for Comic Relief, we came up with the idea of doing a TV series where we'd 'recreate' some of our favourite films. Dirty Dancing is the first episode of this series. We were worried we wouldn't be able to do the famous lift again – it was eight years ago!" Paddy: "We're not poking fun at these films; we love these films, so we're recreating them as fans. There's a narrative running through the show where it cuts to us talking about what you're going to see next, why we included certain scenes and why others were cut. It's all knitted together really well."

Star Wars: Return of The Jedi, Jaws, Rocky and Ghostbusters are the other films you’ll be recreating. Were there any particular challenges? Paddy: "Well, with Star Wars: Return of The Jedi, we didn't want to get sued by creator George Lucas, so we had to make lots of changes. For instance, you can say 'Chewbacca' but you can't have the name 'Chewbacca' written anywhere. So, in the end credits, all those names have 'Copyright Infringement' stickers over them." Keith: "Yeah, Luke Skywalker had to be 'Luke Spaceman'!"

Singer Robbie Williams and presenters Ant and Dec are among the guest stars helping you bring these films to life. What will they be doing? Paddy: "Robbie plays Egon in Ghostbusters and Ant and Dec are Ewoks in Return of the Jedi. All the really meaty stuff we gave to proper actors like Stephen Tompkinson, Michelle Keegan, Anna Friel, Sarah Parish and Will Mellor. They all played it dead straight and totally got into it, so we could just mess about around them." Keith: "I found it really difficult working with Myleene Klass in Jaws because she was so hideous to look at in her bikini!" Paddy: "In Ghostbusters, Robbie actually hurt his back coming down the fireman's pole. We filmed that just before he was due to be a guest judge on talent show Let it Shine and we read in the press afterwards that: 'Robbie Williams has pulled out after injuring his back'. That was because of us!"

There's a lot of dressing up in this show – were any of the costumes or prosthetics uncomfortable? Keith: "I like the pain! He doesn't!" Paddy: "The C3-PO costume was just horrendous… they literally sealed me into this metal shell. I couldn't take it off because I couldn't move my arms; I was in it and that was that! I couldn't get the Darth Vader costume off either – luckily there was a little wee-hole!" Keith: "Paddy also had full Bill Murray prosthetic make-up on for Ghostbusters – but he ripped it off. I kept my fake nose on for days."

Do you already have ideas up your sleeves for future series? And what guests would you like to appear? Paddy: "We've got ideas for a Christmas special, so all classic Christmas films together in one episode. Then, for Halloween, we'd do all the classic horrors." Keith: "Whatever film we do next, it would be nice to have a cameo from an actor who was actually in that film. But me and Paddy would obviously still have the main parts – it’s not called Paddy and Robert De Niro's Picture Show!"

This weekend's BGT will see not one but two Simon Cowells on the show and you won't believe the contestant's talent. Is there enough room on the BGT stage for two Simons?

Can you image two Simon Cowells on BGT? This week you won't have to imagine it, as the show sees a contestant with the same name as the judge try his luck on the BGT stage.

His talent? Balancing spoons on his nose and face!

Ant and Dec let out a huge laugh when the contestant reveals his name is Simon Cowell. Ant joked: "Well Simon Cowell, Simon Cowell is ready for you" as he ushered the BGT hopeful onto the stage.

Dec said: "Knock 'em dead Simon Cowell".

While Ant chuckled and added: "Good luck."

The BGT contestant, aged 47,  works in IT, but his act is unique.

He said: "I think this is the first time my act has ever been seen on Britain's Got Talent, so it will be very interesting to see how the judges take to it."

When Simon reveals his name Judge Alesha Dixon cannot believe it. She replied: "No way!"

As Simon, the judge we all love to hate, looks at the contestant in a state of confusion, fellow judge Amanda Holden  said: "What do you do Simon Cowell? Do you terrorise people as well?"

The BGT contestant replied: "No nothing as glamorous as that."

Simon revealed that he has been practising his talent for quite a few years. Dramatic music sets the scene before Simon unwrapped his spoons and unveiled his ability to balance them on his nose and face.

Judge Simon Cowell didn't seem too impressed and the other judges appeared to still be shocked at the contestants name. Will Simon put Simon through? Tune in to ITV at 8 pm on Saturday to find out.

BGT screens on ITV on Saturday evening

TV presenter Cat Deeley will join former co-stars Ant and Dec for a one-off SMTV anniversary show.

Ant and Dec are planning an SMTV reunion with former co-presenter Cat Deeley.

The trio were back together on Saturday night when the Geordie duo broadcast the last in the series of Ant And Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway live from Disney World, Florida.

Cat appeared as a special guest and promised an SMTV 20th anniversary special.

In the ITV entertainment show’s segment The Missing Crown Jewels, Cat was revealed as the mystery villain Maskface.

She made reference to working with Ant and Dec on children’s TV for the programme which ran from 1998 to 2003.

As she was unmasked in the mini-drama, Cat said: “After SMTV Live Ant and Dec went on to become household names and forgot all about me. So I moved out to LA, got a job hosting a prime-time entertainment show and got five Emmy nominations.

“All I ever wanted was to be recognised at home so I took matters into my own hands and stole the Crown Jewels, now I just need to sit on the throne.”

When Cat came out on stage at Disney World they reminisced about working together.

Dec said: “This was the first time the three of us have kind of worked together since SMTV Live, since we kind of broke up then. We had some great times didn’t we on Saturday morning?”

Cat said: “But would we be rubbish now?”

Dec joked: “We were rubbish then.”

She replied: “Okay, yeah let’s do it.”

The episode saw Ant and Dec travel to the Florida theme park with a plane load of viewers who had won places on the holiday during the series. Scarlett Moffatt and Stephen Mulhern were also on presenting duties.

They were joined by actress Christina Ricci as the celebrity announcer and singer CeeLo Green, who led the sing-a-long section that challenges viewers to fill in missing words from a song.

Britain's Got Talent returns to our screens next week and viewers can expect to see the judges, and their pooches, getting active on the BGT stage.

Ant and Dec join the judges in the fun and bring their dogs on stage to take part in some 'Dog Yoga'.

The sneak peek clip, which will show before Corrie on ITV tonight (7 April), features yoga instructor and Britain's Got Talent contestant Mahny and her pet dog Robbie.

The duo take the stage to perform their routine and the judges, Ant & Dec and all of their pooches wait patiently for the audition to finish.

Ant's dog can't wait long enough and struts onto the stage eager to take part. Mahny invites all the judges and their pets on to stage to take part in a 'Dog Yoga' group session. Before the masterclass can start, the excitement gets a little too much for Ant's dog who takes a wee on the stage!

Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Dec Donnelly begin the routine, reaching their dogs to the sky in an 'upper paw pose' and finishing in the 'loose dog position'.

The dogs look a little confused, but the judges put 100 per cent into the task. Maybe they will try this out at home too.

When Alesha announces the end of the doggy yoga session, contestant pooch Robbie seems unimpressed and wees on David's shoes in protest – Dec can't contain his laughter! Poor David must have been barefoot for the rest of the show.

Ant and Dec reveal how they'll be going out with a bang as the finale of Saturday Night Takeaway comes live from the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida…

It seems everything that Ant & Dec touch turns to gold. And that can easily be said about the current series of Saturday Night Takeaway, which has been pulling in upwards of seven million viewers each week.

As the fun and games comes to an end for another year – sob! – the Geordie duo once again have something special planned for the finale. Last year, they brought us singing, dancing and all-round razzmatazz live from on board the MV Britannia cruise ship in Barcelona.

This time round, they’re really bringing out the big guns and, in a British TV first, the finale of Saturday Night Takeaway comes LIVE from Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida!

"Every year, since we relaunched Takeaway, we've done a series-long giveaway and each year it's got bigger and bigger," said Dec. "Last series, we took the final show overseas for the first time ever and broadcast live from a cruise ship in Barcelona. So, for this series, we thought, what next?

"Walt Disney World is the ultimate holiday destination, so it felt like the perfect fit," he added. "And that's where the idea came about to collaborate with Disney and be the first British TV show to broadcast an entire finale live from Disney's Magic Kingdom."

Before they head off to the land of Mickey Mouse and Pixie Dust, TV Times caught up with the boys to find out what surprises are in store for Saturday Night Takeaway's big finale…

This is a once-in-a-lifetime trip for fans of Saturday Night Takeaway, who’ve won the chance to join you in Disney World. What exactly is the prize on offer? Ant: "The trip starts with a visit to Virgin Holidays' V-Room lounge at Gatwick Airport for a special cocktail party. Then, all our winners will fly on a specially chartered Virgin Atlantic plane. They will get tickets to ALL six Disney Parks for the entire stay, accommodation and a massive US$2,500 Disney gift card to spend on dining, shopping and entertainment. And of course best of all, they will get to be our guests at the Takeaway finale live from Magic Kingdom!"

We’ve enjoyed seeing you on the show each week giving away 'places on the plane' to members of the studio audience as well as viewers at home. What's that been like for you? Dec: "Giving away places to Florida has been fantastic. Seeing the looks on the children's faces who have won has been so lovely."

So, how excited are you about going to Disney World? Can you talk us through what viewers can expect from the finale? Dec: "We still want it to feel like an episode of Takeaway, so absolutely there will be surprises in store. But, of course, we also want to celebrate the fact that we are at Disney, so we’re starting with a big number and finishing with a big number!" Ant: "We have a few special items up our sleeves and an ‘End Of The Show’ Show that everyone will be able to sing-along to. Plus, we’ll have a few American special guests, and there will be the final episode of our drama spoof, The Missing Crown Jewels, where MaskFace will finally be revealed…"

Going live from Disney World on the night, did you ever worry it was too big an idea to pull off? What are you most nervous about when it comes to the live broadcast? Ant: "It is a huge undertaking but that's what we aim to do with this show every year – push the boundaries of what can be done. Disney also have a fantastic team and are incredibly well-equipped and experienced at putting on big shows. It's going to be 27degC, humid and the whole show will be outside in the daytime [the UK is five hours ahead of Orlando], so it will certainly feel very different!"

Will you get much time to go off and have fun around the various theme parks when you’re not filming? Disney World has several golf courses too – do you think you might manage to sneak a round in? Ant: "I don't think we'll have much free time, but I'm hoping we can nip round and have a go on a few rides! It will be busy though." Dec: "We've heard the golf courses are really good, so we'd love to find time for that, but I'm not sure."

What are your own personal favourite attractions at Disney World? Do you like white-knuckle rides? Dec: "I loved the Tower of Terror as I'm a huge Twilight Zone fan." Ant: "Mine has got to be the Toy Story 3D game."

How would you sum up this series of Saturday Night Takeaway? What’s been the highlight for you? Ant: "We've had an amazing time. There are so many highlights and we're so happy people have enjoyed it. I really loved filming The Missing Crown Jewels – that was a definite highlight."

The boys are already looking ahead to next series...

It doesn't get much bigger than filming the Takeaway finale at Disney World. How do you plan to go one better for the next series – a rocket into space, perhaps? Dec: "We're always working on ideas! As soon as we finish this series, we'll have a little break and then we'll be straight onto working on ideas for next year's series!"

...Before that, though, they'll be back in the wings for the 11th series of Britain's Got Talent

It seems there's no rest for you, though, as the 11th series of Britain's Got Talent gets underway next week. Why do you still enjoy hosting the show? Dec: "For us, standing in the wings on stage, you never quite know what’s going to come around the corner and what’s going to come next. There’s just never a dull moment…" Ant: "Yeah, it’s just how eccentric all the acts are. Everyone thinks that Brits are quite mild-mannered and reserved. Believe me, from what we’ve seen, we’re absolutely not!" Dec: "And then, of course, the acts bring their families, who are always loads of fun. Some of the stuff they come out with is just gold! That’s why we like BGT – it's always different!"

Britain's Got Talent has released a star-studded new trailer which appears to be taking aim at TV channels' race for ratings

TV presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, Ant and Dec, and Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid have put their dancing shoes on in a new video for the return of Britain’s Got Talent.

The talent show’s new opening sequence sees Britain’s Got More Talent host Stephen Mulhern enlist the help of ITV stars as he raps about searching for the show’s 'one missing viewer'.

Comedians Keith Lemon and Jason Manford also join in the fun, along with the casts of Coronation Street and Emmerdale, the presenters of Loose Women, Jeremy Kyle and Emma Willis.

BGT presenters Ant and Dec throw in a couple of dab dance moves, while Willoughby and Schofield jump around their This Morning studio.

Former show winners Ashley Banjo and Perri Kiely, of dance group Diversity, and judges Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon, David Walliams and Simon Cowell also join in as Stephen takes his mission across the channel’s studios.

But as his Got To Find The One Viewer song comes to a climax, Ant and Dec point out that the missing fan is actually hiding behind the microphone.

“Well, that was a waste of everyone’s time,” says the disgruntled MC Stephen.

Britain’s Got Talent: Top Ten Ant & Dec Moments, ITV2, Saturday 25th March at 11.35am

Ant and Dec, Emmerdale, Julie Walters and Robbie Coltrane were among the winners at last night's Royal Television Society Awards in central London.

TV’s Ant and Dec have said they would love to see singer Adele make a guest appearance on their Saturday Night Takeaway show.

The pair revealed their dream for the prime time programme as it picked up the prize for best entertainment at the RTS Awards in central London last night, seeing off competition from Strictly Come Dancing.

As the pair accepted the award, presented by incoming Great British Bake Off presenter Sandi Toksvig, they told reporters: “Adele – we’ve never quite made it work because of all her tours and albums and stuff, but we could have a lot of fun with her. If you all put the pressure on from your end and we put the pressure on from our end, maybe we can make it happen.”

The popular duo, who have a legion of fans said they would stay in the job for “as long as people are watching”.

They continued: “We always try to make the show a special treat every week so we are really thrilled to be recognised with this award.”

Meanwhile Emmerdale were delighted to be triumphant in the Soap and Continuing Drama category for the second year running. Producer Iain MacLeod said he was pleased the show was finally receiving “the recognition it deserves”.

Hard-hitting BBC drama Happy Valley, starring Sarah Lancashire, scooped the gong for best Drama Series with the show’s writer Sally Wainwright who has created huge TV hits  including Scott & Bailey and Last Tango In Halifax as well as Happy Valley collecting two awards - including the Judges’ Award for being a writer of outstanding distinction.

Meanwhile, Grayson Perry picked up both best presenter and best arts programme prizes for his Channel 4 show Grayson Perry All Man. “In your face, David Attenborough!” he joked.

Speaking of the show, which saw him explore the modern view of masculinity, he said:

“Good television should have that water cooler effect of starting conversations – I have had taxi drivers talk to me about it and that’s lovely.

“It’s not my day job so I feel pretty good that I’ve just wandered unexpectedly into television and we’ve struck a nerve. But I think it would alter my relationship with television if I went full time – I quite like being the artist who just rocks up in front of the camera, so I don’t get too up myself.”

BBC Three, which recently became an online only service, won the channel of the year award, while Sophie Okonedo and Robbie Coltrane were named best actors.

Harry Potter star Julie Walters, 67, picked up a lifetime achievement award recognising her career across film and television genres that has already spanned more than 40 years. After joking that it was the “old people’s award”, she said: “It’s absolutely gorgeous, I’m thrilled.

“I always get excited at things like this, being surrounded by people I know, I’m like a Jack Russell dog.”

Her busy timetable this year includes work on the new Mary Poppins film, a second Paddington movie and a documentary on train lines around Britain’s coastlines.

She dismissed rumours that she had her eye on a role in Coronation Street, but confessed she loved watching the ITV soap.

Robbie Williams, Michelle Keegan and Ant & Dec are the latest famous faces to join Keith Lemon and Paddy McGuinness for their new series, The Keith and Paddy Picture Show.

Star Wars: Return of the Jedi and Ghostbusters have been confirmed as the final two films to be 'recreated' by Keith and Paddy for the brand-new five part ITV series, as the duo pay homage to their favourite moves of all time.

Ghostbusters sees singer Robbie as Egon, presenter Emma Willis as Janine, actress Sarah Parish as Dana and former footballer turned presenter Chris Kamara as Ray Parker Jnr. Other guest stars include Will Mellor, Gary Wilmot, Vicki Michelle, Emily Atack and Bob Carolgees.

Return of the Jedi will see actress Michelle Keegan playing Princess Leia, comedy duo Ant and Dec as Ewoks, This Morning host Phillip Schofield as Yoda, David Dickinson as The Emperor and Jeremy Kyle will appear as himself.

Robbie commented: "I had such a laugh with Keith and Paddy filming Ghostbusters and I'm thrilled to be playing Egon... I ain’t afraid of no ghosts!"

Michelle said: "I'm excited to be part of this new show with Keith and Paddy and thrilled to be taking on the iconic role of Princess Leia, a strong, female heroine and all round Star Wars legend. I had so much fun and we had such a laugh filming that I can't wait for everyone to see the final result."

Other iconic films getting the Keith and Paddy treatment will be Dirty Dancing, Jaws and Rocky. Each episode of The Keith and Paddy Picture Show will be a mix of film parodies and behind-the-scenes mock-doc footage.

Ant and Dec reveal what’s in store for the new series of Saturday Night Takeaway and how they won’t be going their separate ways any time soon…

It’s safe to say that 2017 has got off to a flying start for Geordie duo Ant and Dec. First, they picked up another three honours at the prestigious National Television Awards – including their 16th for Best Entertainment Presenters!

Then, just two days later, they were off to Buckingham Palace to collect OBEs for services to broadcasting from Prince Charles, who they got to know last year while making their ITV documentary celebrating 40 years of the Prince’s Trust.

"We’re old pals now," joked Dec. "Surprisingly, I had to go up to collect my OBE before Ant and the first thing Prince Charles said to me was: 'I see you’ve managed to shake him off for a bit!'"

"We try to make the show bigger every year," said Ant, "and the series finale this year will be better than ever. It’s huge!"

What new things do you have up your sleeve for the upcoming series of Saturday Night Takeaway? Ant: "Well, following on from last year’s mystery Who Shot Simon Cowell?, we’re doing another mini-drama called The Missing Crown Jewels. Basically, after getting our OBEs, we’re invited to join a secret society, which protects the monarchy. So, one night we’re sent to the Tower of London to look after the crown jewels and, what do you know, they get stolen. We have lots of celebs helping us hunt them down…" Dec: "Yeah, among others, we’ve got Joanna Lumley playing the head of this secret society and actor Michael Sheen is a character called ‘Gadget’. We hear Gogglebox star and reigning Queen of the Jungle Scarlett Moffatt will also be joining the show… Dec: "That’s right. We had a great time with her in Australia after she came out of the jungle and she’s the loveliest soul, so we’re looking forward to her coming on board. She’s got a very big role in the first show."

She’s doing an ‘electrifying’ live stunt isn’t she? Both: "Yes!" Dec: "But she doesn’t know what it is yet, ha, ha! We haven’t told her." Ant: "It’s quite spectacular. It’ll be quite a big one for show one, to guarantee we come back with a bang."

Can we expect some of our old favourites such as Undercover, where you prank a big-name guest by dressing in disguise, and I’m a Celebrity… Get Out Of Me Ear, where you instruct a celeb, through an earpiece, to misbehave? Dec: "Yep, Undercover’s back and we’ve already filmed a big one with TV chef Jamie Oliver.." Ant: "Yeah, he’s our first ‘victim’, ha, ha!" Dec: "It was really good fun. We’re dressed as paramedics for it, which will all become clear when you see it. Even when we finally revealed to Jamie it was us, it still didn’t quite sink in. Then for I’m a Celeb… Get Out of Me Ear we’ve done a brilliant one with X Factor host Dermot O’Leary going around a supermarket pinching things out of people’s trolleys."

When filming that segment, who’s the most mischievous out of the two of you? Dec: "Ant, definitely! He pushes it a LOT." Ant: "Yeah, I do quite like to push things, ha, ha! There were a couple of occasions where I tried to get Dermot to do stuff and he point blank refused!" Dec: "I get too worried that we’re going to get found out, so I’m like: ‘No, don’t do that.’ But Ant’s there saying: ‘No, try and do that! Try and do that! So Ant’s like the bad devil and I’m like the angel on the other side." Ant: "Oh, I wouldn’t say angel!" Dec: "Alright, less of a devil on the other side, then."

Do you still get nervous fronting a live show like Takeaway, or does it come completely natural to you now? Ant: "Oh, we still get nervous, especially on Takeaway because there are so many variables. You could be in someone’s home, or going live to somebody in a pub, or you’ve got an audience member you’re surprising. All those things could go wrong – and have – in the past. So that makes it a lot more nerve-wracking." Dec: "The general public can be quite unpredictable, so you’ve got to be on your toes as to what’s gonna happen. I always think the beginning of the show is like getting on a rollercoaster; whatever happens over the 75 minutes you’re on air, you’ve got to just put up with it, fling your arms around a bit, but you can’t get off till it ends!" Ant: "The viewers absolutely love it when things go wrong – they like it more when it goes wrong than when you get it bloody right!"

Mrs Brown is working on her own Saturday night show – are you worried she might steal your crown? Ant: "I dunno. We know [Mrs Brown creator] Brendan O’Carroll, and he’s lovely. I’m pretty sure it will be a slightly different show." Dec: "We only do seven Takeaways a year, so there are a lot of other weeks where shows like Takeaway have got the opportunity to be on. So I think there’s room for us all really."

Fans went out of their minds when you appeared separately to do a link on I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! last year. What did you make of the uproar? Ant: "Ha, ha! Yeah, it went mental. I never expected any of that!" Dec: "When the producer said that one of us would need to go into each camp, we didn’t think twice about it. So we did it but, when we looked on social media after, we were like: ‘Oh my God, it’s gone bonkers!’ ITV had to issue an apology, saying it wouldn’t happen again. But we did have to do it again the next night – so we came up with the idea of doing split-screen." Ant: "We’d like to reassure everyone, right now, that we ARE staying together."

So you don’t think you’ll ever consider going off and doing programmes individually? Ant: "Not now, no! Not after all that! Potentially, in the future, who knows. But at the moment, we love working with each other, we love doing Takeaway, Britain’s Got Talent and I’m a Celeb, so there really are no plans for that."

Finally, what’s your favourite Saturday Night Takeaway? Ant: "Definitely Chinese!" Dec: "I’m an Indian guy… well, obviously, not an Indian guy! But I do like a curry, preferably a hot one. Washed down with a Cobra beer."

Ant and Dec have signed a new deal with ITV that will take them past their 20-year anniversary with the network

Britain's favourite TV duo Ant and Dec have confirmed they'll be back to present more I'm a Celebrity, Britain's Got Talent and Saturday Night Takeaway in a new three-year ITV deal.

It means they'll appear exclusively on the channel until at least the end of 2019.

Ant and Dec said: “We are absolutely delighted to be extending our relationship with ITV, to continue on the three shows we love as well as exploring further opportunities both in front of and behind the camera. This deal will take us past the 20-year mark with ITV and we couldn't be happier.”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returned to ITV on Sunday with strong overnight TV ratings of 10.7 million and an 11.7 million peak, the show's highest audience since the 2013 final.

The Geordie duo joined ITV in 1998, presenting the Saturday morning shows SM:tv LIVE and CD:UK and they've won numerous awards including a record breaking 30 National Television Awards (including Most Popular Entertainment Presenters for 15 consecutive years), 12 BAFTA Television Awards and eight Royal Television Society Awards.

Television duo Ant and Dec have heralded their OBEs as the achievement their “mams” will be proudest of.

The pair – voted the nation’s favourite presenters in the National Television Awards 2016 – have been together for 26 years.

They described their inclusion on the Queen’s Birthday Honours list as a shock, saying they were grateful to have been recognised for services to broadcasting and entertainment.

“We are just two ordinary lads from the west end of Newcastle," said Ant and Dec.

“We hope us receiving this honour can inspire young people to chase their dreams and believe that anything is possible.

“This will definitely be the proudest our mams have ever been.”

The pair added: “We are both shocked, but incredibly honoured to receive OBEs.

“We absolutely love what we do and have done since we started out aged 13.”

The Geordie duo added that they are “passionate” about what they do and were especially honoured to host both The Queen’s 90th Birthday Celebration and the 40 Years of the Prince’s Trust documentary.

They continued: “What we do also allows us to work with some amazing charities that really do make a difference.

“2016 has been a fantastic year so far, and we’re so grateful for all the support we receive.”

The double-act found fame in 1990s BBC One children’s drama Byker Grove, had a short career pop career as their characters PJ & Duncan, and went on to present shows such as Pop Idol, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and Britain’s Got Talent.

British TV stars have been paying tribute to US comedian Garry Shandling, who has died at the age of 66, reportedly from a heart attack.

He was taken from his LA home by ambulance on Thursday morning and pronounced dead at a hospital.

The award-winning comic, who created It’s Garry Shandling’s Show and the BAFTA-winning The Larry Sanders Show, pioneered a form of docudrama comedy which influenced Ricky Gervais, among others.

The Office creator was also among British stars to pay tribute to Garry Shandling.

Ant and Dec kept a tight hold of their crown at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards as they took home the prize for best entertainment performance.

The pair were rewarded for I’m A Celebrity, Britain’s Got Talent and Saturday Night Takeaway, 21 years after they were first recognised at the awards.

Sir Lenny Henry was awarded a surprise fellowship of the RTS for his work raising awareness of diversity in the industry.

The comedian and actor was also presented with the Judges’ Award in recognition of his commitment to increasing minority representation in the industry with particular praise for his 2014 Bafta Television lecture on the topic.

Accepting the two awards, Sir Lenny said: “I’m so truly humbled by this, thank you so much for the fellowship.

“I’m happy the RTS acknowledges the importance of diversity and I hope the BBC and the Government accept the fundamental role of diversity by writing it into the charter.”

Channel 4 swept the board in several categories, winning best drama series for comedy No Offence and single drama for Coalition, which starred Mark Dexter and Bertie Carvel as David Cameron and Nick Clegg respectively in the political drama.

Its hit comedy Catastrophe claimed two of its three nominations, bagging scripted comedy and writer – comedy for Rob Delaney and Sharon Horgan, while Michaela Coel, creator and star of E4′s Chewing Gum, won the inaugural breakthrough prize.

Suranne Jones fought off stiff competition for the best female actor trophy for Doctor Foster, which was accepted on behalf of the new mother by her on-screen son Tom Taylor, while Sir Anthony Hopkins won best actor for his role in BBC Two’s The Dresser.

The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies followed up its Bafta success with two awards, scooping the prize for drama serial and the writer – drama award for Peter Morgan, the man behind Rush and The Queen.

In the ultimate soap showdown, Emmerdale beat rivals EastEnders and Coronation Street for the soap and continuing drama award.

Other winners included David Coulthard, Reggie Yates, Joan Bakewell and Judge Rinder as the best of British TV was celebrated by the industry.

Stars including Adele, Rihanna and Coldplay descended on London’s O2 Arena for the biggest night in the British music industry calendar.

Among the highlights at this year’s Brits was tearful Oscar-winner Adele emerging triumphant with four awards and the touching tribute to David Bowie. The late rocker’s Icon accolade was collected by actor Gary Oldman.

Ant misunderstood Dec, his fellow Brits host, when instructed to do a costume change. He hit the stage in a ruffled ballgown instead of a tuxedo. It’s a bad joke, but a fab photo.

Tonight Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway makes its return to ITV with shed load of live TV surprises and star-studded names. Magician and presenter Stephen Mulhern joins the duo as the new host of Ant Vs Dec, while Kevin Whately and Emilia Fox star in murder-mystery spoof, Who Shot Simon Cowell?

Since its debut in 2002, this much-loved Ant and Dec vehicle has wowed with A-list showbiz guests, high-octane stunts and challenges, celebrity undercover set-ups and surprises for the studio audience and unsuspecting viewers watching at home.

Picking just a few of the highlights wasn’t easy but, after MUCH discussion, here are our top five Saturday Night Takeaway moments...

1. Undercover bags One Direction

Back when the heartthrobs were a five-piece band in 2013, they thought they were being interviewed for New Zealand TV. But they weren’t – it was Ant.

You haven’t lived until you’ve seen a disguised Dec pretending to be a Directioner!

2. Louis Walsh’s banana phone

Former X Factor judge was brilliant craic in I’m A Celebrity Get Out Of Me Ear! in 2013. The Irishman let puppet masters Ant and Dec pull the strings as he showed unsuspecting painters and decorators around his house.

At one point, Louis used a banana as a phone and pretended to speak to Dannii Minogue. Little wonder Ant and Dec roared with laughter - as did viewers!

3. PJ and Duncan return!

In 2013, Let’s Get Ready To Rhumble (yep, that really was the spelling) made it to the top of the UK Singles Chart, 19 years after its original release.

Why? Because the video of Ant and Dec turning back the clock as PJ and Duncan – complete with dance moves, baggy pullovers and trainers – went viral. And it was absolutely wicked!

4. Simon’s not amused

In 2003, music mogul Simon Cowell was a panellist on American Idol alongside fellow judges Paula Abdul and Randy Jackson. How he didn’t twig earlier that the ‘brothers’ auditioning before him were Ant and Dec is a mystery.

Yes, they’d donned wigs and prosthetic make-up, but it’s still pretty funny to watch an exasperated Simon look on with disdain as the pair bumbled their way through a cringy rendition of Paula’s hit Opposites Attract. To give Simon credit, he finally started to smell a rat near the end.

5. Gordon Ramsay explodes

IT was no surprise when the celebrity chef lost his cool with ‘Juan’ and ‘Juan Junior’ (guess who?) as the hapless handymen caused havoc on the set of Gordon’s US MasterChef series in 2014.

Disguised as Latino men, the Geordie duo made noise on set whenever Gordon tried to speak his lines and an unappetising-looking burrito was left on his mobile phone.

Gordon’s expletive-laden exclamations are TV gold.

The new series of Saturday Night Takeaway begins tonight on ITV at 7pm. Enjoy!

Ant and Dec can cross Sir Elton John off their list of future guests after he made a dig about their light-entertainment show repertoire.

Sir Elton appeared on Ken Bruce’s BBC Radio 2 programme and revealed he would love to do Seaside Special, a BBC variety show from the 1970s in which a big top played host to names such as The Wurzels, Keith Harris and Orville, and Ronnie Corbett.

He said: “We’ve never done a Seaside Special. They should bring that back. I think Ant and Dec need another exposure, don’t they? It’s about their level, I would say.”

But it’s unlikely the Britain’s Got Talent, I’m A Celebrity and Saturday Night Takeaway hosts will be bothered – they recently picked up the most popular TV presenter prize at the National Television Awards for the 15th time in a row.

Sir Elton was on the radio show promoting his new album Wonderful Crazy Night, which he called a 'joyous record' designed for arenas.

He said: “The last one was a very intimate record and piano-based record and I wanted to make a record with the band and make it upbeat lyrically and musically, and I wanted to be able to play the songs on stage.”

The 68-year-old said it came from being 'in a good place in my life'.

He said: “I’m very happy with it. It’s very ‘up’ and it’s hard for me to write ‘up’ songs. As a piano player, I usually write miserable songs.

“I think I’m in a good place in my life, so was Bernie Taupin who writes the lyrics. It was planned, sometimes planning doesn’t work out to be the way it should but it all came together in the studio and it was done very quickly, and that’s how I wanted it to be and it’s a fun record.”

The upbeat album might be out of character for Sir Elton, but he certainly hasn’t lost his 'prima donna streak' – it took him three hours to get ready for the show.

He told Bruce: “It takes me three hours to get decent. I woke up at four o’clock (in the morning) today to get presentable to come to you all the way from Windsor.”

Wonderful Crazy Night is released on Friday.

It could be said that Ant and Dec are the jewels in ITV’s crown attracting viewers to the channel in shows like I’m A Celebrity, Saturday Night Takeaway and Britain’s Got Talent. But after winning the National Television Award for Best Presenter – for the 15th year running – it seems that the duo may be parting company with the network…

According to The Sun, the presenting duo have hinted at a parting of the ways with ITV to sign up with one of the internet streaming channels Netflix or Amazon Prime.

“Shows like Britain’s Got Talent bring the whole family together which is kind of irreplaceable on those streaming services,” Dec, 40, told the newspaper. "But there’s room for both. The big difference is the amount of money your Netflixes and your Amazon Primes have to spend.”

Now in the final year of a three-year contract with ITV, Ant and Dec have been paid £5million apiece to present Britain’s Got Talent, I’m A Celebrity and Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway. But it seems they have realised that more money is to be made away from the major TV broadcasters. 

When asked if they would consider leaving ITV, Ant, who’s also 40, said: “Well, we’re in the last year of our contract so that would be very unfair of me to say... wouldn’t it?”

“Who knows where we are going to be?” added Dec.

The duo would follow in the footsteps of Top Gear trio Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, who have signed a £160m deal with Amazon to create a new motoring show. After Clarkson was sacked by the BBC, Hammond and May decided that they couldn’t present the BBC motoring show with him, and turned down a deal to present the series. 

Ant and Dec revealed Paul Potts was their choice for the stand-out moment of Britain's Got Talent because it was the moment they realised the format worked and they had a hit show ont heir hands.

Dec Donnelly told What's on TV at the BGT launch in central London today: "Looking back over the 10 years, you automatically go back to some of the early auditions. especially that first Paul Potts audition when he sang Nessun Dorma and none of us really had the greatest of hopes for him and then that voice came out... and I think that's when we really knew we had a show on our hands, we had a hit show.

"I think that's the stand-out moment because that's when we knew the show was going to work."

Ant and Dec spoke about the 10-year contract for BGT and whether or not they'll be back for a series 11 in 2017.

Ant McPartlin said: "We don't know. This is our last year of hosting the show. We love doing it, there's no reason why we shouldn't be. Let's just enjoy series 10."

Ant added: "If we're asked, our contracts are up after this one, we'll see what happens later in the year."

BGT returns to ITV in the spring

Being embarrassed by the antics of our mums and dads is something that happened to most of us as some point in our lives and it seems even the royals aren't immune to cringe-worthy moments involving their parents.

During a documentary about the Prince’s Trust, set up by the Prince of Wales in 1976, Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, and his brother Prince Harry reveal how their dad Charles would make them cringe when they were growing up.

In the 90-minute programme – presented by Ant and Dec, who are Trust ambassadors – the brothers recall how Charles would laugh at inappropriate moments during school plays.

William told a story of how his father convulsed with giggles when a pyrotechnic explosion went off at the wrong moment as he was playing the role of narrator in a Christmas play.

The Duke said about his father: “He couldn’t stop laughing the whole way through the production.”

He added: “Several times I’d stop … I’d cast an eye across, like you know, a big death stare, and then I’d try and get back to my lines, it was terrible.”

William and Harry also praised their father’s charitable achievements with Charles’s eldest son saying the Prince had an “insurmountable amount of duty in him”.

“The Prince’s Trust evolved over time into what it is now, which is this incredible charity, that has really bust every possible limit it was ever set – it’s really done well," added The Duke of Cambridge. "And I think he’s incredibly chuffed at how it’s gone.”

The Duke also confessed that fatherhood has made him more “emotional” and prone to welling up.

Prince William is the proud father of two small children – Prince George and Princess Charlotte – and has discovered that becoming a parent has made him more aware of how “precious life is”.

Speaking to Ant and Dec with his brother, Prince Harry, beside him, William said of the changes fatherhood had brought: “I’m a lot more emotional than I used to be, weirdly. I never used to get too wound up or worried about things.

“But now the smallest little things, you well up a little more, you get affected by the sort of things that happen around the world or whatever a lot more, I think, as a father.

“Just because you realise how precious life is and it puts it all in perspective. The idea of not being around to see your children grow up and stuff like that.”

The Duchess of Cornwall has also given what is believed to be her first televised interview for the programme.

Camilla praised the Prince of Wales during the documentary for setting up his Prince’s Trust 40 years ago and said he was still “passionate” about helping young people.

The Trust grew out of Charles’s concern that too many young people were being excluded from society through a lack of opportunity.

In 1976, when he left the Royal Navy, he used the £7,400 he received in severance pay to fund a number of community schemes. These early initiatives were the founding projects of his charity.

Around the country, 21 pilot projects were set up – from a grant given to a 19-year-old woman to run a social centre for the Haggerston Housing Estate in east London, to funds used to hire swimming baths in Cornwall to train young lifeguards.

During the past 40 years it has grown to become Britain’s leading youth charity and has reached more than 825,000 young people in total, with three in four achieving a positive outcome – moving into education, employment or training.

Camilla said: “I think I’m really proud to be married to somebody who, 40 years ago, aged 27, had the vision to put it together – I mean it was an incredible idea then.

“For somebody – he was very young then – to think of it and to think of these very disadvantaged young people who had literally been to hell and back and to find a way to give them a second chance in life.”

Asked how Charles still maintains his energy and enthusiasm, she replied: “I don’t know, he just has that energy. You know if you’re passionate about something you can do it, he cares so much about these young people.”

When Ant And Dec Met The Prince: 40 Years Of The Prince’s Trust will be screened on ITV on Monday 4 January at 9pm.

Most Haunted presenter Yvette Fielding will probably be spooked by memories of the I’m A Celebrity… camp dunny by the time she eventually leaves the camp site.

Will the watching millions pity the her and her fellow camp stars whenever they need to spend a penny in that grotty loo? Probably not.

Apparently, there isn’t much privacy for anyone using it, either.

The night obviously ended well as Ant McPartlin’s wife Lisa Armstrong ditched her heels as she left the venue with her husband of nine years, while Declan Donnelly was led out by the hand by wife Ali Astall, who he married in August.

For six decades, ITV has entertained and informed the nation with award‐winning dramas and compelling soaps.

The characters created via scripted shows include the sharp-tongued Hilda Ogden from Coronation Street, gift of the gab Arthur Daley from Minder and Downton Abbey's Dowager Countess.

1. Ant and Dec.

Anthony McPartlin And Declan Donnelly are officially the nation's favourite entertainers. And they have a mantelpiece bursting with awards to prove it. The duo first found fame in 1990s BBC1 children's drama Byker Grove, even going on to forge a pop career as their characters PJ & Duncan.

2. Simon Cowell.

A global TV star, a record company executive and a producer, Simon Cowell has had an impact on popular culture on both sides of the Atlantic through his TV and music interests. A stint judging ITV's Pop Idol led to the equivalent position on US version American Idol, where his blunt appraisals of contestants consolidated his image as Mr Nasty, the TV judge everyone loved to hate.

Simon's series, and international formats, Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor remain important revenue generators for ITV.

3. David Frost.

The late broadcaster's professional activities are so diverse, he was once described as "a one-man conglomerate". Sir David first came to notice nationally with the BBC's Saturday night satirical programme That Was The Week That Was. Following its success, he set up David Paradine Productions, with programmes including ITV's Spitting Image and Through The Keyhole.

Sir David was instrumental in starting up two important TV franchises: London Weekend Television (LWT) in 1967 before going on to become one of the Famous Five who launched TV-am in February 1983.

4. Lord Michael Grade.

One of the most respected figures in British television, the nephew of ITV founder Lew Grade served as director of programming at LWT from 1976-1981. Under his stewardship, ITV aired landmark black working-class comedy The Fosters, which starred Lenny Henry and the late Norman Beaton, and he launched popular programming ranging from long-running arts series The South Bank Show to adrenaline-fuelled drama The Professionals.

Lord Grade became executive chairman of ITV plc in 2007, but left two years later.

5. William Roache.

The world's longest-serving soap actor has played Coronation Street's Ken Barlow since its 1960 launch. Professionally, William has spent so much of his working life with commercial broadcaster ITV in the soap, some Corrie fans find it hard to separate the star from the famous character he portrays.

6. Cilla Black.

Cilla, who sadly passed away back in August, became one of the nation's favourite entertainers after transforming from a successful singer in the 1960s to ITV’s queen of light entertainment fronting shows such as Surprise! Surprise! and Blind Date. Lord Grade said the once-nervous star soon gained a natural confidence in front of the cameras, which explains why her shows were ITV staples for so many years.

Surprise! Surprise! aired from 1984-2001 while Blind Date ran from 1985-2003, when Cilla announced she was quitting the show live on air.

7. Lord Melvyn Bragg.

The South Bank Show launched on ITV in 1978 with Lord Bragg as presenter; he remained at the helm until 2010. Dedicated to popularising the arts on the small screen, the multi award-winning series kicked off with a profile of Paul McCartney.

As Controller of ITV's Specialist Factual and Arts, Lord Bragg produced several series such as The Story Of ITV – The People's Channel and The Adventure of English, winning many broadcasting awards including the Broadcasting Press Guild's Harvey Lee Award for Outstanding Contribution to Broadcasting.

8. Sir Trevor McDonald.

Born in Trinidad, Sir Trevor joined ITN as its first black reporter in 1973, rising steadily through the ranks to become diplomatic editor and newscaster. He came to public attention as an ITN newsreader in the late 1970s, gaining even more of a profile when comedian Lenny Henry frequently imitated him on Saturday morning children's programme, Tiswas.

Sir Trevor confirmed his place as a household favourite anchoring ITV's flagship News At Ten where his "and finally" catchphrase, accompanied by a light-hearted story at the end of each bulletin, added a personal touch. Knighted in 1999, Sir Trevor left News At Ten for the final time in 2005, but he continues to present other series for ITV including The Mighty Mississippi with Trevor McDonald and The Mafia With Trevor McDonald.

9. Phillip Schofield.

Phillip made his name as a presenter for Children's BBC, appearing with Gordon The Gopher in the Broom Cupboard. In 1996, he signed an exclusive contract to present a series of shows including Talking Telephone Numbers, Schofield's Quest and TV Gold.

However, his ITV career truly took flight in 2002 when he co-presented ITV's flagship show This Morning with Fern Britton. They are credited with making it must-see TV again following the departure of original presenters Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan in 2001.

Phillip has a number of popular TV shows to his name including The British Soap Awards, 2006 celebrity ice skating show Dancing On Ice, 2009 game show The Cube and the commercial broadcaster’s annual TV fundraiser, Text Santa.

10. Richard and Judy.

The husband and wife team that launched This Morning quit in 2001 after 13 years to present a Channel 4 chat show. Broadcast from Liverpool's Albert Dock before transferring to London, it was the relationship between Richard and Judy that gave ITV's daytime series a unique quality rival shows simply could not match.

Richard and Judy went on to present prime-time shows for ITV, but none capitalised on the magic they had on This Morning. And the less said about their evening chat show, the better. The pair's infamous 1996 interview with American actor OJ Simpson, who had been acquitted of his wife's murder, was accused of giving him a soft ride by critics.

It was a bright and sunny day in Newcastle as Declan Donnelly, one half of the city’s famous duo Ant and Dec, married Ali Astall as family and friends – some quite famous – watched on.

Ant and Dec’s TV success saw them take home £23,000 a day last year, according to reports.

The Daily Mirror said Geordie duo Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, both 39, who grew up on council estates in Newcastle, raked in £8.4 million between them.

Their earnings come from hosting ITV hits Britain’s Got Talent, I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here! and Saturday Night Takeaway.

The Bafta-winning pair have a golden handcuffs deal with ITV.

According to the newspaper, a TV source said: “It’s little surprise they are raking it in given they are fronting three of the biggest and most popular shows on TV, with huge ratings to boot.

“For the big cheeses at the top of ITV, they are worth every penny.”

The Mirror said that accounts for the duo were filed by private firms Teecourt, Deecourt and Hurley Promotions.

Hurley, which is jointly owned by the pair, posted a profit of £1.97 million during its first trading period.

Teecourt, owned by Ant, made £3.2 million last year, while Dec’s company Deecourt posted identical profits, the newspaper said.

It’s been a star-studded evening in London’s Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, with some big wins from the very best of the small screen.

Highlights include a surprise win in the Leading Actress category with Georgina Campbell picking up an award for BBC3’s emotive drama, Murdered By My Boyfriend. Leaving many wondering what this means for the channel which may, or may not, be axed in the near future!

Benedict Cumberbatch’s Sherlock was outsmarted for a third time, with Jason Watkins picking up Leading Actor for ITV’s The Lost Honour of Christopher Jefferies.

It wasn’t all doom & gloom for Sherlock, however, as the show won the Radio Times’ Audience Award.

Supporting Actor went to Stephen Rae for The Honourable Woman. Supporting Actress was picked up by Marvellous’ Gemma Jones.

Ant & Dec’s trophy cabinet is rumoured to be close to breaking point, after the duo added best Entertainment Programme AND Entertainment Performance for Saturday Night Takeaway to their ever-growing gong collection.

The best Female Performance in a Comedy went to Jessica Hynes for BBC’s W1A, while Matt Berry picked up the Male Performance in a Comedy for Toast of London.

The Single Drama category was awarded to Marvellous. Coronation Street honoured much-loved Anne Kirkbride, who played Deirdre Barlow, when they received the award for best Soap & Continuing Drama.

Best Drama Series went to Happy Valley. The Comedy Entertainment honour was given to The Graham Norton Show.

Dispatches won best Current Affairs for their Children on the Frontline feature. While Sky News Live at Five: Ebola was awarded best News Coverage.  The Paedophile Hunter was chosen for best Single Documentary. Life and Death Row was awarded best Factual Series. And Channel 4’s Jon Snow was awarded the Fellowship accolade.

Meanwhile The Island with Bear Grylls picked up the best Reality and Constructed Factual. Grand Designs snapped up best Features. True Detective landed the best International. And Grayson Perry’s Who Are You? won Specialist Factual.

Scripted Comedy went to Mackenzie Crook for Detectorists. And while Sheridan Smith failed to pick up anything this year, Cilla and Mrs Biggs writer, Jeff Pope, was awarded this year’s Special Award.

And last, but by no means least, Sport & Live Event category was awarded to WW1 Remembered – From The Battlefield & Westminster Abbey.

Variety, they say, is the spice of life. And variety is definitely what you get on Britain’s Got Talent. You just never know who or what’s going to turn up on that stage! 

With The Voice, The X Factor and Strictly, it’s all about who can sing or dance the best, so it’s great to see a mixed bag of talent. And like last week, tonight did not disappoint. As well as singing and dancing, there were puppets, cute kids, three clowns with bagpipes, a bunch of breakdancing lads and a 76-year-old men performing a routine with cowbells!

Kicking off the show was 9-year-old Jesse Jane McParland from Northern Ireland who shocked and surprised the judges with a spectacular martial arts performance. Not only was she the first act of the night but she was the first to get a clean sweep of yeses from Simon and co. 

There were two stand-out acts of the evening – the first being Boyband, aka teenagers Corey, Mike, Dylan, Jaih and Mikey. The lads’ hip hop and breakdance routine didn’t only wow the judges but also Ant and Dec, who used their golden buzzer to send the boys straight through to the live shows.

The other stand-out act was 12-year-old Henry Gallagher who performed his own song about a girl he has a crush on. Awwww. Not only did he have everyone ooh-ing and aah-ing in the audience but his singing, dancing and the song itself were all top-notch. Talk about pop star in the making! 

Like Narinder Dhanni, who played tunes on a comb last week, we didn’t expect any of the judges, least of all Simon, to be impressed by a bloke performing with cowbells. But Joseph Friedmann, 76, got a yes from all the judges. Becky O’Brien, a 34-year-old English teacher and mum-of-five from London, was also a hit with the judges, as was magician Jamie Raven, 30. The more senior Jeffrey Drayton, 73, also got through to the next stage of the competition, albeit with only three yeses.

Sent home tonight were: sixty-somethings Jane and Dolores, who got two yeses from the judges with their oddly-titled song You Defrost My Heart At A Million Degrees; Hayley Pyke, a 42-year-old receptionist from Scotland, whose performance of The Show Must Go On with a theatrical mask failed to get any yeses from the judges; musical duo Arlene and Doug from Aberdeen; comedy entertainer Adam Lazarus and his puppet pals from Essex; and comedian Peter Cumine from Winchester.

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has poked fun at her Geordie roots in a sketch for Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.

The singer teamed up with her fellow Newcastle celebrities for their ITV entertainment show, where they make a celebrity behave in an embarrassing way by giving them instructions through an earpiece.

In the I’m A Celebrity… Get Out Of Me Ear segment that will be shown this weekend, Cheryl proves she is game for a laugh by showing a series of estate agents around a house that she is pretending to sell.

With each agent who makes a visit, Cheryl goes to her fridge and finds a different bizarre item planted there each time.

Making reference to her coming from Newcastle, two of the times she opens the door she discovers a single bottle of Newcastle Brown Ale, and a fridge stocked entirely with meat and potato pies.

On another trip to the fridge, she finds a framed photo of her X Factor judging nemesis Louis Walsh.

Ant and Dec also guide the star through a romantic dinner with one estate agent as a violinist plays by the table, until she is instructed to shout at the musician: “Knock it off, man!” and send him packing.

The sketch will be shown on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway on March 28 at 7pm.

Geordie lads, Ant and Dec, both 39, talk toTV Times about the return of their star-studded but slightly scary Saturday night extravaganza and why they nearly said no to hosting The Brits this week (Saturday, ITV1)...

Hello boys, we’re so glad Saturday Night Takeaway is back!

Ant: “Us too! It’s only on TV for seven weeks, but we spend the rest of the year developing ideas so it’s quite a beast. We’re very excited to be back on air.”

Dec: “It’s a very special show for us and we’re raring to go. It’s so cold at the moment and people are saying the telly’s not as good at this time of year, but we’re hoping Takeaway will be a joyous 75 minutes every Saturday night. We want to fight those winter blues!”

What can we expect this year?

Dec: “Every week’s going to be different and we’re going to play tricks on the audience and people at home – we’ve done loads of hidden camera filming already. Plus we’ve got a shiny new app so viewers can decide who they think will come out on top in Ant vs Dec. I’ll give you a clue right now, it’s going to be Team Dec.”

Ant: “We’ll see about that.”

There’s always a tense moment when the Ant vs Dec challenge is revealed. Sometimes you face terrifying challenges such as abseiling down ITV Studios – will you ever refuse a task?

Ant: “If it was just a general Monday afternoon I wouldn’t do half the things they ask us to, but it’s live Saturday night telly and you look a bit of a wimp if you pull out, so we kind of have to do it. Plus if we say no we’ve got 10 minutes of TV to fill!”

Dec: “So we’re kind of forced into doing it, we don’t really have much of a choice.”

Dec, you have a phobia of birds. What if there was an Ant vs Dec challenge involving pigeons?

Dec: “Yeah, now I would be awful at that. It just wouldn’t be very entertaining because I couldn’t go anywhere near them.”

Ant: “See I could do that easily, I’d love it. Let’s do a pigeon challenge!”

Dec: “I think they realise there’s a line. I don’t know if a lot of people know this, but the producers of Takeaway also work on I’m A Celebrity, so they’re very good at playing on people’s fears and pushing them to their limits.”

Ant: “We have to be careful not to say what scares us!”

We love the I’m A Celebrity…Get Out of Me Ear feature, where you feed silly lines to famous people through an earpiece. Have you planned some more for this series?

Ant: “Yes, we’ve done a few. We’ve just finished filming one with Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.”

Dec: “It’s amazing! She’s so good.”

Ant: “She was brilliant, there was not one thing she wouldn’t say and we did push her.”

Dec: “She was really nervous to start with but soon she was saying, ‘Ooh I’m really enjoying this!’ We’ve done some brilliant hidden camera hits too. We sprung a surprise on Olly Murs for show one, which was a lot of fun and he was a great sport. It’s shaping up to be a really strong series.”

You’re hosting this year’s Brit Awards, but your association with the event hasn’t always been happy. As PJ and Duncan you arrived late to 1995’s ceremony, having chosen to travel in an ice cream van, and in 2001 you admitted nerves stopped you enjoying the hosting experience. Are you going to have fun this year?

Ant: “Yes, we’ve made a pact to make sure we enjoy it this time.”

Dec: “And we’re getting a car – no ice cream vans! When we first got asked to host this year’s show we said no. Then we got off the phone and started chatting to each other and after half an hour we’d talked ourselves into it.

“The first time we hosted we were so scared of anything going wrong, but now we actively encourage stage crashers. We’re going to have a great night. It’s The Brits, you never know what’s going to happen next but you just have to roll with that.”

Are you up to date with modern music?

Ant: “A lot of the artists on The Brits this year have sold so many albums, both here and in the US, that you can’t fail to have heard them. It’s great, it feels like we’ve really got something to celebrate.”

Dec: “When you look at Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, George Ezra and Paloma Faith, these are not just Radio 1 artists, they’re popular across the board. It’s a really strong time for British music.”

You’re currently filming auditions for the next series of Britain’s Got Talent. Have you found any stars yet?

Ant: “Let’s be honest, some of the acts are horrendous, but we’ve found some good talent too and we’ve already pressed our golden buzzer to put an act straight through to the semi-finals, we did that on the very first day! We’re having a lot of fun and the great thing about BGT is the variety: one minute it’s a drag act and then it’s a dancing dog.”

David Walliams recently beat Simon Cowell to the gong for Best TV Judge at this year’s National Television Awards. Has he been gloating?

Dec: “Oh my God it’s hilarious! He has the award under the desk at every audition and any time Simon tells him off he just pulls it out. Simon’s got absolutely no comeback to it. And whenever we introduce the judges we always welcome David as, ‘Britain’s Favourite TV Judge’. That constantly rubs Simon up the wrong way, he’s genuinely bothered by it!”

Ant McPartlin has revealed how he can't wait to be best man when his sidekick Dec marries his fiancé Ali Astall.

Dec was best man at Ant's 2006 wedding to Lisa Armstrong, and Ant said he is looking forward to returning the favour.

Speaking on The Jonathan Ross Show, he said: "I can't bloody wait! He was best man for me, I've been married eight years now. His speech was very good, very funny so I've got a lot to get him back with!" he said.

Dec got engaged to his manager Ali on an island off the coast of Australia in November last year. It was just before he and Ant travelled to New South Wales to host the most recent series of I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!

“We'd organised dinner on the beach and we went round to one side of the island, the only place on the island where you can see the sun set, and we just did it there. It was lovely."

Talking about their relationship previously, Dec admitted it was ''a little strange'' when the couple first got together because they had been work colleagues for so long, but said: ''It's going good. Everything's hunky-dory.''

Dec, who first found fame with Ant in teenage drama Byker Grove, has previously dated actress Clare Buckfield and TV presenter Georgie Thompson.

The Jonathan Ross Show is on ITV at 9.20pm.

With all the awards they have won over the years, Ant and Dec are regarded as TV royalty.

Now the pair are joining up with the real thing for a new documentary about the work of The Prince's Trust.

The Geordie duo will spend time throughout the year with The Prince of Wales as the trust, which he founded in 1976, gears up to its 40th anniversary in 2016.

Ant and Dec will get see the Prince's work within the trust which enhances the lives of people aged 13 to 30 who are struggling with school or unemployment..

The result will be a 90-minute ITV special which will beshown next year.

Ant and Dec, who already work as ambassadors for the trust, said: " We are hugely excited to be working with HRH The Prince of Wales on our first project of this kind.

"We've worked with The Prince's Trust for years and know what an incredible job they do of supporting young people right across the UK.

"This is a unique opportunity for us to get under the skin of a great organisation and its founder, to pose the questions we've always wanted to ask and to see the achievements of the young people celebrated."

Britain's Got Talent hosts Ant and Dec have admitted they'd love it if their Golden Buzzer act beat those chosen by the show's judges.

Speaking at the Dominion Theatre as this year's BGT auditions arrived in London, Ant said: "We buzzed on the first morning of the first day but they were a really good dance troupe and deserved it. And Dec said that if their chosen act ended up winning: "We will dine out on that for a long time and we will not let the judges forget it either."

He then added: "It's a bit like how David's been winding up Simon now that he's the nation's favourite TV judge," referring to just David Walliams' recent win at the National TV awards. "Any time Simon disagrees with David the award comes out and he tells him: 'Remember, I'm the nation's favourite TV judge'."

The pair also revealed some of their on-stage antics with some of this year's auditionees, but admit they hated judging!

Former politician Edwina Currie has backed Jake Quickenden to be named King of the Jungle after she was voted off I'm A Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here!

They went into the jungle together and Edwina would like to see Jake come out on top.

Her departure leaves two-time X Factor contestant Jake, TV presenter Mel Sykes and former world Superbike champion Carl “Foggy” Fogarty vying for the crown in today's final.

Upon hearing that she had not made it to the last stage of the competition, Edwina said: “That is exactly what should happen, brilliant.

Speaking to Ant and Dec after leaving camp, she stated that before joining the competition she thought it would be horrible in the jungle. 

“In fact they were a terrific bunch of people. It was a privilege and a pleasure to know them and that's not flannel,” Edwina added.

Earlier in the episode Edwina, said the only thing she could compare to her experience in the jungle was childbirth.

When asked who she thought would take the top spot, she said that while all three would make worthy winners, her pick was Jake.

“He’s a gent, he’s a star,” she said. “He’s a great star in the making and he doesn’t even know it.”

Jake is also the favourite with bookmaker Coral going into tomorrow's final at 11-10. Carl is second best in the betting at 11-8, while Melanie is the outsider of the three celebrities still left in the competition at 4-1.

Rap star Tinchy Stryder and Playboy model Kendra Wilkinson have been voted out of the jungle in a shock double eviction.

Their fellow campmates were left open-mouthed when presenters Ant and Dec revealed that two of their number were leaving I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here! in the Friday night show (Dec 5).

Tinchy, 28, told the presenters about his unlikely friendship with veteran BBC reporter Michael Buerk and revealed he plans to go head to head at table tennis with his new best friend out of the jungle.

“Michael definitely was my right hand in there,” the singer said, and joked that the pair would be releasing an album.

“We are going to meet up again - I love table tennis and he says he is good at it so we will see how that goes,” Tinchy added.

Meanwhile, Kendra, 29, revealed that she got more than she bargained for when she entered the jungle.

The model, who had to endure more dreaded Bush Tucker Trials than any other contestant on this year’s series, said she thought the show would be part “faked” and ITV producers would secretly feed the campmates.

“I thought I would come in and act and get food under the table. But no, that is not how it works around here,” she said to Ant and Dec.

Discussing her argument with former Conservative minister Edwina Currie, she accused the politician of rounding on her when she was baring her soul and talking about her family.

“I wanted to share my story with people and she is attacking me while I’m in my most vulnerable place.”

The double eviction leaves just four stars left to battle it out to be crowned king or queen of the jungle on Sunday, December 7.

The remaining celebrities are Edwina, TV presenter Mel Sykes, X Factor reject Jake Quickenden, and superbike champion Carl Fogarty.

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! host Ant McPartlin will have to wait to find out if he will be best man for his on-screen partner Declan Donnelly.

Dec announced his engagement to his manager, Ali Astall, last week while in Australia filming the ITV reality show.

In an interview with the Daily Mirror, the pair, never seen apart on screen, revealed Dec had gone solo with the proposal and kept his fellow Geordie in the dark.

Ant told the paper: “No, he did it all himself. I’m very proud of him. Good lad.”

And Dec said: “It just seemed like the right time. So yeah, I just did it.”

And on the subject of his best man, he added: “He (Ant) has got to wait to be asked. There is plenty of time for all that.”
