Evil Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) is on a mission to find out who was responsible for killing her late husband, DI Banks (Drew Cain) in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

When she sees the teenagers Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith), Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) and Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) chatting out in the street, she seizes the opportunity to bundle them into her car and whisk them away from the village.

Later on she plays a twisted game of truth and dare with the scared youngsters in a bid to get to the bottom of what happened to her bent copper husband the night he was shot dead in The Loft.

Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) initially confessed to the murder to protect the teens after he was racked with guilt at exploiting them in drug and human trafficking activities.

However he has since been released from prison and Clare is yet to discover who her husband’s true killer is.

As she terrorises the teenagers, will one of them confess to the murder?

Meanwhile Rex is about to be well and truly rocked when his sister, Grace Black (Tamara Wall) drops some bombshell news that will change his life forever.

Plus, Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) who has been held captive on the Love Boat with Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) by her serial killer father, Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) starts to fear that Ste is not going to make it.

Ste has been getting progressively more and more ill and weak as he’s been unable to take his usual medication.

Tonight things take a turn for the worse when Ste falls unconscious.

Meanwhile, Sienna’s sister, Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) gets a warning call from a mystery person.

Will Liberty, who is engaged to serial killer Jez, be able to track down Liberty and Ste or will Jez get to them first?

Serial killer Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) was sent into a spin in yesterday’s episode when his ex-fiancé John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) finally worked out that Jez was the real murderer of Bobby Costello.

Jez had to take immediate action to silence John Paul, but what has he done to him?

In tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings) friends and family are aghast to learn of John Paul’s fate.

Meanwhile, it’s the day of Tony Hutchinson’s (Nick Pickard) plea hearing. With everything that has been going on, his ex-wife, Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher), is too distressed to attend.

Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) and Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox) decide to show their solidarity with Diane and also back out of going to court.

However, killer Jez has no such qualms and he and his fiancée Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) breezily announce they will go and show Tony their support.

Tony has been charged with the killing of Bobby Costello and Liberty is clueless that Bobby’s real killer is actually the man standing by her side, Jez!

Tony is a bag of nerves as he faces the stand.

Right before heading in, Diane tells Liberty and Jez that the McQueens won’t be there due to the terrible events involving John Paul McQueen.

Liberty is chilled to the bone, knowing what she told her fiancé Jez Blake, minutes before the attack on John Paul.

As the plea hearing begins, Liberty is unable to stay silent and rushes to call detective Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) about her fears involving Jez.

But is it all too late?

As the hearing for Tony continues there are dramatic and frightening scenes for the residents who find themselves embroiled in the cross fire.

Elsewhere, Grace Black (Tamara Wall) is heartbroken when her sister Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) announces that she is fleeing Chester with her daughter, Tori, in tow.

Their grandfather Froggy Black (John Middleton) isn’t heartbroken, he’s furious with Clare!

On her way out of the village, Clare comes across the teens, Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass), Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) and Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence).

Vicky confronts Clare when she spots her carrying something suspicious.

Meanwhile Clare is more determined than ever to find out who was responsible for killing her detective husband, DI Banks (Drew Cain).

John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) finally realises that it is his ex fiancé, Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) who is Hollyoaks’ serial killer in tonight’s episode of Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

Alcoholic John Paul, who has recently relapsed, wakes up bleary-eyed after an altercation with Jez in which a memory was triggered placing Jez at the scene the night Bobby Costello (Zak Sutcliffe) was murdered.

As the penny drops, a horrified John Paul, who was passed out in the back of a cab when Bobby was killed by Jez, realises just what terrible danger everyone is in.

He races round to the Blake house to warn Jez’s new fiancée, Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) that she’s engaged to a serial killer.

However, Liberty is sceptical of John Paul who reeks of alcohol and is mumbling his warning in a blind panic.

She doesn’t believe what he’s saying and instead tells him he needs to get urgent help for his alcohol addiction and issues.

Meanwhile, evil Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) has found Jez’s two hostages, Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) and Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson), tied up on the Love Boat.

However rather than saving their lives and rescuing them, Clare realises she can use the situation to her advantage.

She decides she will blackmail Jez ,who she is convinced is the one in possession of all her late husband, DI Banks, missing cash.

Will her ruse to manipulate Jez into doing what she wants, work?

Or is it Jez who will have the upper hand?

Elsewhere, things are complicated for Sienna’s brother, Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) and her girlfriend, Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrins).

Convinced that Sienna was never coming back and was guilty of murder, Dodger and Sienna have recently grown closer and were seen sharing a kiss.

Tonight they start to suspect that Sienna may not be the serial killer after all.

The two of them put their feelings aside as they try and figure out the truth by visiting Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas Speed) in prison.

Joel is currently behind bars after confessing to the murder of Tommy Odenkirk (Brandon Fellows).

However when they talk to him, the pair realise Joel has no definite recollection of killing Tommy but that Jez Blake was at the scene of the crime!

Meanwhile, after finding out that John Paul had come to warn Liberty about him, Jez needs to shut the situation down.

At The Hutch, John Paul is brushed off by a furious Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) who is rushing to get ready for her ex husband, Tony Hutchinson’s (Nick Pickard) plea hearing.

Jez turns up and confronts John Paul, who is beginning to doubt his own memories of the night of Bobby’s murder.

John Paul vows to get sober and uncover the truth. However, Jez decides he must act fast to silence John Paul for good.

Is he planning to make his ex lover and fiancé his next victim?

Jez has framed Sienna for the spree of murders including that of her sister, Dilly Harcourt, Robbie Roscoe and Dennis Savage.

Recently he has been keeping her a prisoner on the Love Boat and drugging her with sedatives as he works out what to do with her next.

Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) is also trapped with Sienna and is struggling badly as his health takes a dangerous turn for the worse.

In tonight’s episode Sienna promises her good friend Ste that she’ll kill Jez as soon as her father arrives back.

However their plan is derailed when a different face turns up on the boat.

Who has discovered them? And will they help them escape or will they leave them there to suffer?

Elsewhere, Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) receives a call from her ex husband, Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) who tells her there’s been an update on his case.

Tony is currently behind bars for the suspected killing of Mercedes McQueen’s (Jennifer Metcalfe) son, Bobby Costello.

Tonight Tony has to break the shattering news that John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) has come forward with more information and it’s NOT good news.

Meanwhile, Grace Black (Tamara Wall) and her sister, Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) have something to celebrate at last. Clare encourages Grace to put on a casino night at The Loft to make the most of their good news.

Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor-Dawson) heads there later on and starts gambling in a bid to pay off all the Osborne family debts.

However his son Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) finds him and tries to stop a drunk Darren from doing anything he will bitterly regret.

Will Darren, who is in emotional turmoil right now, take any notice ?

Earlier on Cleo has an emotional time when she goes to visit her ex, Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) in prison.

Joel was recently seen attacking fellow inmate, Tony Hutchison (Nick Pickard).

Cleo is horrified and goes to see Joel wanting to know if what she has heard is true.

However she finds Joel in a very despondent state and she’s worried about him when he says he can’t remember anything.

Trying to lift him out of his fog, Cleo breaks some news to him.

Will she reveal that she is pregnant with his baby son?

Meanwhile Vicky Grant (Anya Lawrence) is DEVASTATED when she overhears Dodger showing Cleo the list of murder victims that he found.

When Vicky learns that her ex fiancé’s name, Robbie Roscoe (Charlie Wernham), is on the list she is heartbroken to realise he could be dead.

With Cleo also in turmoil, she turns to Dodger for emotional support but things get a little too cosy between the pair of them.

Sienna’s father, Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) watches as the two of them grow closer.

Are they about to share a kiss?

Elsewhere, Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) who has been kept prisoner by Jez, along with Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) is struggling as he has been unable to access his medication and his health is in rapid decline.

However, Sienna is about to take action and tells Ste that she is planning on KILLING her father Jez, that night.

Will she go through with it?

Later, when Dodger visits the Osborne family looking for information on Robbie it’s all too much for Robbie’s brother, Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor-Dawson).

Darren has recently been floored by the bombshell that he is not the biological father of his daughter Morgan.

Now he is also being dealt the shock news that his brother may be dead.

When his wife Nancy (Jessica Fox) tries to console him, he angrily pushes her away.

Meanwhile, Tom Cunningham (Ellis Hollins) who’s recently been released from prison, arranges a meal for him and Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell). However he’s left rattled when he comes face-to-face with evil Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix).

Clare has some cruel words for him that cut him to the core.

During their date, Peri confesses she’s worried she’ll crumble soon with everything she’s been through.

Tom reassures her he’ll stay in the village if that’s what she needs.

Later, Peri asks Marie Fielding (Rita Simons) for advice on what she should do with Tom.

However when talking to Marie, Peri is surprised to notice there’s something different about Marie.

What has she clocked?

Plus, John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) goes to the police to give a statement about the night that Bobby Costello was killed.

Who is he going to name as the guilty party and how will it impact Tony?

Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) stuns her mother Myra (Nicole Barber-Lane) when she drops some bombshell news in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

Mercedes was recently floored when she discovered she was pregnant with Tony Hutchinson’s (Nick Pickard) baby.

Old friends Tony and Mercedes had enjoyed a brief fling before Mercedes was devastated to believe that Tony was responsible for killing her son, Bobby Costello.

Tony is currently in prison awaiting trial and Mercedes is crumbling under the weight of her secret.

Tonight she confides in her mum Myra and tells her that she is pregnant with Tony’s child!

How will Myra take the SHOCK news?

Later on Mercy loses her temper with her brother John Paul McQueen (James Sutton).

Alcoholic John Paul has been getting drunk again and is still unable to identify the voice that he heard in his flashback of the day Bobby was killed.

An angry Mercedes lashes out at him and tells him he needs to follow her orders on what to tell the police.

What exactly does she want him to say ?

Meanwhile, Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) takes Sienna Blake’s (Anna Passey) clothes that she’s retrieved to detective Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) hoping that it may be useful evidence.

Dodger is working at home on the case and is trying to piece together a case that would pinpoint who the serial killer is.

However, Dodger is later horrified to see that someone in his family has put the clothes in the washing machine therefore destroying any evidence.

The true serial killer, Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) blames his mother Martha Blake (Sherrie Hewson) for the washing machine “mistake”.

Meanwhile Dodger finds Sienna’s list of names that she made when she worked out her own father Jez was the killer.

However, when Dodger sees it he immediately assumes it’s Sienna’s list of all her victims.

Jez is rubbing his hands with glee when Dodger seems to have yet more evidence that his own sister is the killer.

Elsewhere, Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) tells her ex-husband, Tony that she loves him and the two of them agree that they are going to start all over again and make their relationship work.

However, later on Diane is distressed when she sees that Tony has been badly beaten up in prison.

Will he reveal who attacked him?

Plus, Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor Dawson) is demanding answers from his wife Nancy (Jessica Fox) following some recent SHOCKING revelations involving him.

We’re not sure it’s possible to get a more wholesome yet genuinely funny start to the weekend than Bake Off’s sister show. Jo Brand hits exactly the right note (there’s as much eye-roll as Swiss roll) while hosting the celebrity panel and sympathising with the baker who has left the tent, and Tom Allen’s deadpan style is perfect. With his huge ‘whisk’ microphone, he’s merciless with the home bakers in the studio, who seem only too delighted to have their offerings – and their personal lives – under his scrutiny. Tonight, there’s a look back at all the Biscuit Week drama, while the panel includes Stephen Mangan.

Gardeners’ World, BBC2, 8 pm

Much as many of us would like to hang on to summer for as long as possible, now we’re heading into the middle of September, it’s time for gardeners to be practical and look ahead to autumn. Monty Don does just that this episode, as he prunes his raspberries, harvests sweetcorn and assesses his plants in pots. Meanwhile, Frances Tophill is in Cornwall to find out more about a new technology that’s creating borders for pollinators.

Mitchell and Webb Are Not Helping, Channel 4, 10 pm

David Mitchell and Robert Webb’s sketch show series continues tonight with a terrible reality show, Hot Seat (even the host, played by Webb, admits the format is like ‘two Maltesers in a paper bag’). There’s also the return of Sweary Aussie Drama, an advert for an incredibly violent family game called Stab the Pirate and an insight into the conversation which may have taken place when ABBA’s Björn asked his wife Agnetha to sing the words ‘I’m nothing special, in fact I’m a bit of a bore’ in Thank You for the Music.

After three years of co-hosting C4’s The Great British Bake Off with Noel Fielding, the excitement of immersing herself in the glorious world of gingham-clad tables, bucketloads of bunting and a deluge of delicious delicacies still hasn’t worn off for Alison Hammond.

"I’ve never worked on a show where such a cross-section of people come up to talk to me about it. It really brings people together. It’s happy TV. I love it!" says the always bubbly Brummie. "Each series is completely different and this is a lovely, quality season."

The Great British Bake Off airs on Tuesday evenings at 8 pm on Channel 4 in the UK, and in the US new episodes land every Friday on Netflix.

Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) has some unsettling advice for his fellow inmate, Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

Earlier on Tony has a visit from his ex-wife, Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) who has recently got back together with Tony.

Tony, who is behind bars for the killing of Mercedes McQueen’s (Jennifer Metcalfe) son, Bobby Costello, who he accidentally ran over, tells Diane that he’s thinking of changing his plea to guilty.

However, Diane stands firm and reminds Tony that it was an accident.

Neither of them are aware that Bobby’s real killer is serial killer, Jez Blake, (Jeremy Sheffield) who murdered Bobby minutes before Tony ran over him.

Diane tells Tony that his family needs him and pleading guilty would be a disaster.

Later on Tony has a conversation with his fellow prisoner, Joel.

Joel, who is seen having a worrying phone call with a mystery person, seems quite cold towards Tony and when Tony tells him he can’t plead guilty Joel tells him he’s a child killer!

Tony is left frightened when other prisoners turn against him.

Is Tony in terrible danger?

Meanwhile, Tom Cunningham (Ellis Hollins) has finally been released from the same prison and tonight he is overjoyed when he meets up with his ex, Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell).

Peri tells Tom that she wants the two of them to go to Spain together to see their daughter, Steph.

Will Tom be on board with that plan?

Elsewhere, Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox) admits to Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) that she still hasn’t told her husband Darren (Ashley Taylor-Dawson) that he is NOT the biological father of their daughter, Morgan.

Is she about to break the bombshell news to Darren?

Plus, Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) becomes more convinced that his sister, Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) is a killer after coming across some new incriminating evidence.

Meanwhile, pregnant Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) lashes out when Marie Fielding (Rita Simons) presents her with a pram and baby essentials.

With her girlfriend, Sienna, gone and presumed dead, Cleo is terrified about the prospect of bringing up a baby by herself.

When Marie, who is the unborn baby’s grandmother, offers to raise the child herself, a horrified Cleo baulks at the idea.

Criminal Froggy Black (John Middleton) has set his sights on detective Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

Froggy has only recently been released from prison but now he is doing all he can to protect his estranged granddaughters, Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) and Grace Black (Tamara Wall), who are both facing criminal charges.

In yesterday’s episode, Clare attempted to blackmail detective Donny by showing him CCTV footage that she had of their passionate fling that took place in the garage.

Clare demanded that Donny destroy any evidence against her and Grace otherwise she would show the incriminating footage to Donny’s devoted fiancée, Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi).

Tonight Clare is angry to learn that her blackmail threats have failed. However, it’s grandpa Froggy to the rescue.

When he learns what Clare’s plans are he assures her that he has dirt on Donny and will have no problem getting Donny to destroy the evidence on her and Grace.

Later on Froggy squares up to Donny and reveals a secret he knows that will tear Donny’s family apart if he doesn’t do as he says.

Will Donny be backed into a corner and comply with Froggy’s demands?

Or will he stand his ground and face the consequences?

Elsewhere, prisoner Tom Cunningham (Ellis Hollins) confides in his fellow inmate, Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) and tells him how much he enjoyed his recent visit from his ex, Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell).

However, Tony is feeling really low and struggles to react.

Seeing his pal so despondent, Tom speaks to one of the governors and arranges for trained chef Tony to have a position working in the prison kitchen.

Can Tony regain some hope and spark doing something he enjoys?

Later on Tony brings Tom a piece of cake as a thank you for supporting him inside.

However Tom has to break the news to his friend that he’s been granted early release!

He’s going to be leaving prison tomorrow meaning Tony will have to fend for himself from now on.

Plus, Leela Lomax (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) and Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) turn to Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) to help find Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) who is still missing.

Ste’s family are worried that he has vanished and doesn’t have his medication with him meaning his health will be taking a turn for the worse.

Lucas hands over footage to Dodger taken from the flat’s doorbell and it’s not long before detective Dodger finds something that immediately sparks his interest.

Will it lead him to Ste?

Tom is behind bars after being made a scapegoat for a failed investment scheme that went wrong when he was staying with his sister Jude, in Spain.

Tonight Tom, who enjoyed a long relationship with Peri when they were teenagers, is delighted to come face to face with Peri who is the mother of his child, Steph.

Will old feelings be rekindled?

It certainly looks like it as sparks between the two of them start to fly.

Meanwhile Peri’s mum, Leela Lomax (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) is worried when she discovers her brother Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) is still AWOL and hasn’t come home to celebrate baby James’ birthday.

Ste’s son, Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) tells her that his dad hasn’t been back ever since the two of them had a falling out.

When Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) notices bruises on his boyfriend Lucas’s arms, Lucas lies and tells him that Ste attacked him.

He also shows him messages that imply Ste is gone for good and won’t be returning anytime soon.

Elsewhere, twisted serial killer Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) plans a memorial service for his daughter, Sienna Blake (Anna Passey).

Sienna’s girlfriend, Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) doesn’t want to believe that Sienna could be dead but Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) tells Cleo that Sienna would never in a million years willingly abandon her children, Sophie and Sebastian.

Unbeknownst to everyone, Sienna, who is very much alive and being held captive by Jez in the Love Boat, is watching the memorial service and yelling for help but no-one can hear her!

Plus, Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) blackmails Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) after the two of them recently got passionate together in the garage.

Clare shows Donny the CCTV footage of them together and demands that detective Donny destroy all evidence against her and her sister, Grace Black (Tamara Wall), otherwise she will show the incriminating footage to his fiancée, Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi).

Will Donny do as Clare wants and destroy the evidence so she and Grace can walk free?

Or will he decide to play Clare at her own game?

Fran (Eve Myles) asks Ria to come back to work for her, which is a welcome distraction from the anonymous messages Ria keeps getting, but Lee thinks Fran isn’t to be trusted. He’s not the only one – if you remember, the handyman, Derek (Clive Russell), had previously warned Ria, ‘Get out of here while you can’. What did he mean? And who is behind those increasingly threatening messages? The uneasy tension continues to build in this twisty psychological thriller.

The Sunshine Murders, 5, 2.15 pm

New Zealand farmer Shirley Rangi (Emily Corcoran) fetches up in Athens in this first episode of a ‘cosy crime’ series, originally scheduled to air on Tuesday, September 2. She’s there in search of her father, but unexpectedly finds a secret half-sister, Detective Helen Moustakas (Dora Chrysikou). At first, Helen finds her to be an unwelcome annoyance, but Shirley’s shrewd observational skills and insights prove surprisingly useful during Helen’s investigation into the death of an archaeologist. Look out for Peter Andre as pathologist George. The series continues with new stories every afternoon until Friday.

It’s been fascinating to watch 2018 Love Island contestant Zara McDermott develop into an accomplished presenter of documentaries, and here she delves into the highs and lows of holiday haven Thailand. The first episode sees Zara explore Bangkok from a backpacker’s point of view, before delving into its bustling red light district. Continues until Wednesday and is also available as a box set on BBC iPlayer.

Jamie: Eat Yourself Healthy, Channel 4, 8 pm

We’re all well used to newspaper reports on the next ‘superfood’, or consumer shows telling us why we need this or that trending ingredient in our fridges or larders, so what’s been refreshing about Jamie Oliver’s latest series is bringing the science together with recipes that look genuinely delicious. In this week’s episode, for example, we may know that fermented foods are good for the gut, but how about using kimchi in a sauce for a seared tuna dish to boost our bone health? Other highlights include a squash risotto with potential to help with our eyesight, plus a look at how compounds in kiwi fruit could aid sleep.

The Great British Baking Show 2025 is finally here, once again kicking off 10 weeks of cake-related catastrophes and mouthwatering recipes as a new batch of bakers enter the tent all with one mission in mind — impress Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith enough to win the title of Star Baker.

The new series, which landed in the UK on Channel 4 on Tuesday, September 2, is now available to watch in the US on Netflix, with new episodes landing on the streaming site every Friday.

As we get to know the new bakers, who have all got their sights set on earning themselves a coveted Hollywood handshake, this series looks like it's going to be the best yet, as it gets off to one of the most dramatic starts ever when Cake Week almost ends in catastrophe.

While we don't want to spoil the drama for you, let's just say there are more soggy bottoms than sponge-based masterpieces this week as the bakers are tasked with first making a Swiss Roll with an inlay design, before having to create a batch of Fondant Fancies for the technical challenge with no recipe at all.

Finally, the bakers are faced with creating a landscape cake for their showstopper, which ends in varying levels of success.

The bakers taking part this year are Toby, Nadia, Aaron, Leighton, Jessika, Jasmine, Hassan, Lesley, Front row: Tom, Pui Man, Iain, Nataliia - but who will be improving their baking skills each week and joining The Great British Baking Show winners list, and who will be feeling the heat in the tent before they're sent home?

In the UK, The Great British Bake Off 2025 airs on Channel 4 on Tuesday evenings at 8 pm, and in the US, new episodes will land on Netflix every Friday.

Gogglebox, Channel 4, 9 pm

Our favourite couch potatoes are back to give us their opinion on the latest TV and, we hope, an update on everything else. Has Lee used any more of Jenny’s face cream as a dip? Has Daniella been drinking out of a plant pot again? We don’t yet know what they’ll be watching, but we’ll hazard a guess that it could include Parenthood, Dating Naked or The Great British Bake Off 2025.

The Paper, Sky Max and Sky Showcase, 9 pm

This sequel to the US version of The Office follows the fortunes of the once mighty Ohio newspaper the Toledo Truth Teller, now a shadow of its former self. Under the temporary stewardship of the website’s managing editor, clickbait queen Esmeralda Grand (Sabrina Impacciatore), the print edition has languished, its pages filled with irrelevant celebrity stories bought in from agencies. Newly installed editor-in-chief Ned Sampson (Domhnall Gleeson) has a bold, idealistic vision to restore the paper to its glory days – but with no money to make it happen, can he turn his beleaguered admin staff into scoop-hungry reporters?

Here We Go, BBC1, 9 pm

The Jessops are on their way to baby Atlas’ baptism, but godfather Paul (Jim Howick) has got a dodgy tummy and, according to Sue (Alison Steadman), ‘has that poorly dog smell’. Amy (Freya Parks), meanwhile, is preparing to play at the Bedford Battle of the Bands and is hopefully putting her crisis behind her, but her bandmate is worried that having septuagenarian Sue as their devoted No 1 fan sends the wrong message. It all works out in the end, but there are some highly embarrassing moments along the way… This has been another great series and the Jessops are turning into one of our favourite sitcom families.

Bake Off: An Extra Slice, Channel 4, 8 pm

Following Tuesday’s first episode of The Great British Bake Off 2025 series, Jo Brand and Tom Allen are back with the highly entertaining sister show. Hassan joins them - the first baker to leave the series - and Jonathan Ross is on the panel.

Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox) and her husband, Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) are REELING after discovering the identity of the person who kidnapped their young daughter, Morgan (Lottie-Rose Mulhall) in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

The parents have been beside themselves ever since Morgan was taken from their home and Nancy was sent a ransom demand for £10,000 in exchange for Morgan’s safe return.

Now that the family have found out that the culprit was someone close to home they are thrown as to what course of action they should take next.

Will they turn them in to the police?

Elsewhere there is more drama involving Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) and her friend Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson).

Sienna has been kept locked up by her serial killer father, Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) on the Love Boat to silence her from spilling the truth about him.

Meanwhile, the complicated love triangle of Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) her mum Leela Lomax (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) and Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) continues.

Leela has enjoyed seeing Prince for dates and no-strings fun but hasn’t told Peri, who also has feelings for Prince.

Tonight, mumLeela is out on a date with Prince but when she sees Peri passing by she quickly ducks to try and hide.

Later on, Peri, who is no fool, assures her mum that she is ok with her dating Prince. And Leela is feeling a bit better about the whole situation when she hears Peri excitedly arranging a date of her own.

But who is it with?

When Prince and Leela later go to Casa McQueen they see Peri having an emotional call on her laptop.

Leela presumes her daughter has been stood up but when Peri angrily snaps at her, she wonders what the REAL reason is that Peri is so upset.

Plus, Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) is proud of her nephew, Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) for reaching his 60 days clean milestone.

Dillon had previously been battling a drug addiction. However he is feeling guilty about Misbah's praise as he hasn’t been entirely honest with his family.

Has he had a recent relapse?

Later on Misbah has got other family matters to attend to.

Her fiancé Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) has not been returning any of her recent calls.

When he finally returns home detective Donny does a lot of grovelling and Misbah starts to warm to all his profuse apologies.

However, she’s left feeling sick to her stomach when she notices a giveaway sign of what Donny has ACTUALLY been up to!

Has her fiancé cheated on her?

Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) is FURIOUS when she discovers Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) is organising a fundraiser to help her husband, Tony (Nick Pickard) in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

Tony has recently been arrested for killing Mercedes’ son Bobby Costello (Zak Sutcliffe) and is now behind bars.

Tonight Diane is hosting the fundraiser at The Dog in a bid to raise money for a top lawyer to try and help him get out.

When grieving Mercedes learns what’s going on she storms into the event reeling that Tony, who she has recently had a fling with, never came forward with the truth and shouts that he deserves to be locked up in prison.

Elsewhere, Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) needs to confront Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) after events took a worrying turn in yesterday’s episode.

Dillon has recently developed feelings for Ste, who is the father of his boyfriend, Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis).

However, when a conversation doesn’t go the way Dillon wants it to, the upset teenager takes action!

Meanwhile, Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) receives a message from Charlie Dean (Charlie Behan) asking her to meet.

With Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox) and Darren’s (Ashley Taylor-Dawson) daughter, Morgan (Lottie-Rose Mulhall) still being held by a mystery kidnapper, Nancy pleads with detective Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) to do more to find their little girl.

Later on the family is FLOORED when they discover the identity of the kidnapper.

Who has taken Morgan and is it someone close to home?

Plus, Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) remains locked up on the Love Boat after her serial killer father, Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) has kept her captive there to silence her.

Can she find a way to escape or send an alert for help?

Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) starts to suspect the Osborne family is hiding something very important from him in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

Viewers have seen the Osbornes plunged into panic ever since Darren Osborne’s (Ashley Taylor-Dawson) and Nancy’s (Jessica Fox) youngest child, Morgan (Lottie-Rose Mulhall) vanished.

Nancy was later horrified to receive a ransom note sent via text message demanding £10,000 for their little girl’s safe return.

Tonight detective Donny wants to film an appeal for Morgan but Nancy is acting shiftily and seems keen to avoid any police involvement.

When Donny senses that she and Darren are hiding something from him he pushes for answers.

Will they reveal the truth, that they are secretly gathering the money to meet the kidnapper’s demands?

Elsewhere, former drug addict Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass) receives his 60-day sober chip and shares the news with his proud boyfriend, Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) and Lucas’s dad, Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson).

However, Dillon, who has developed feelings for Ste is thrown and emotions are stirred when Ste leans in to give him a big hug.

Wanting to thank him for his help, Dillon asks Ste if he can take him for dinner.

Ste reminds Dillon to shut down any inappropriate feelings for him and instead gives Lucas the day off from working at The Hutch so he and Dillon can spend it together.

Meanwhile, Ste, who has secretly rekindled his relationship with his lover Rex Gallagher, (Jonny Labey) hastily arranges a rendezvous with Rex back at the house.

However, trouble is brewing when Dillon and Lucas also decide to spend the day together at home.

Dillon arrives back first, while Lucas is out buying supplies, and is shocked to find Ste and Rex back together.

An angry Dillon, who was trafficked by Rex, berates Ste saying having Rex at the house puts them all in danger.

Ste pleads with Dillon not to reveal to Lucas that he and Rex have secretly been seeing each other but will Dillon stay quiet?

Plus, Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) is in turmoil when she gets some news that knocks her for six.

Mercedes has recently undergone bowel cancer treatment.

Tonight she turns to doctor Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) for help and admits she has had some test results that have floored her.

The Great British Bake Off, Channel 4, 8 pm

As our favourite culinary contest makes a welcome return, the 12 new bakers tantalising the tastebuds of judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith are a lovely bunch. But they are all feeling overwhelmed when they tackle their first Signature – a Swiss roll with an inlay design. Then there’s a fondant fancy Technical for which they have no recipe, they must guess the flavour and their ingredients include red herrings – Paul looks gleeful at how mean he has been! Finally, for the Showstopper, they create a landscape out of cake. But whose Bake Off journey will kick off in style as they win Star Baker and who will only be heading home?

The Great British Sewing Bee, BBC1, 9 pm

The mill’s vibe turns Hitchcockian for Movie Week as the Pattern Challenge is to recreate the jacket worn by Tippi Hedren in The Birds. Designed by Oscar-winner Edith Head, it’s ‘a terrific challenge’ says Patrick Grant because it involves one pattern for the front, back and sleeves. The Transformation is to make an after-show party outfit from cinema curtains, with one effort more suitable for an adult film, while the Made to Measure asks for a horror costume, prompting some horrified looks from Esme Young. Which sewer has performed their swansong?

The Yorkshire Vet, 5, 8 pm

It's not often that Peter Wright mentions his past working with James Herriot, so it’s a lovely reminder when he name-drops his former mentor. ‘My old boss Alf Wight used to say, “First you need to catch your patient…”’ is his advice as he tries to round up some rebel sheep with an energy that belies his 40 years in the profession, as he needs to inject them against a nasty pox called orf. Even more unpleasant is the eye infection plaguing Ozzy the llama, and Julian Norton’s surgery to tackle it is a definite look-away-now moment. Plus, a heart-warming follow-up as, after treating mountain rescue dog Kenzie for her red ear, Matt Jackson-Smith gets to help her in her training – by playing a body!

Midsomer Murders, ITV1, 8 pm

An organic bakery in the newly restored Larkton's Mill causes resentment in Lower Blissingham, with many of the old village businesses struggling, traffic having increased and rumours that owners Tom and Chrissie Larkton are planning to expand. Highwayman Inn landlady Denise Bantrig organises a protest group against the couple, and is supported by Maria, who runs the old village cafe and will not let her business go down without a fight. Their complaints are not taken too seriously until several people are dosed with a dangerous hallucinogenic at a Midsummer's Eve party, with Barnaby and Winter called in to investigate, and the situation escalates when a farmer is murdered.

The Inheritance release date

The Inheritance starts on Sunday, August 31 at 9 pm on Channel 4, continuing on Monday, September 1 at 9 pm and Tuesday, September 2 at 9.30 pm. That's three episodes a week to make sure you don't miss any drama!

What's the aim of the game?

A game of wit, wisdom and sheer hard graft, The Inheritance is best described as the lovechild of The Traitors and The Apprentice.

As the series begins, 13 strangers are summoned to a grand stately home in Dorset, where they’ll compete for share of the fortune left in The Deceased’s will - and she’s designed a deviously difficult game to ensure that only the most cunning can get their hands on it.

Who's playing The Deceased?

The glamourous benefactor at the heart of the show, known as The Deceased is portrayed by actor, model and national treasure Elizabeth Hurley.

She's very much alive and well and ready to put these wannabe beneficiaries through their paces.

"At first, my character wasn't glamorous… she was very old - but they changed that, then added Robert and this stately home into the mix and I thought it was fabulous," teases Elizabeth, 60, at the official launch of the show at The Ned hotel in London. "I watched an episode of The Traitors and loved it, so I'm grateful to have been asked. Because my parts are pre-recorded [The Deceased sets out the rules of her requests from beyond the grave] it’ll be exciting for me to watch it play out."

Who is The Executor of The Inheritance?

Acting as The Executor is everyone’s favourite TV barrister Robert Rinder, who’ll oversee proceedings as the 13 players work as a team to complete The Deceased’s final requests, a series of challenges designed for players to win a share of her considerable fortune.

"I’ve experienced the full buffet of cases in my legal life, and barristers need to have an intuitive sense of how all kinds of people are going to behave," says Robert, 47. "This show explores how people might react when you put a fortune in front of them; how they might approach issues of fairness, how they might mislead people and what they might do when people aren’t looking."

As they say, there's no such thing as a free lunch and the players will be put to the ultimate test emotionally, physically and mentally to win a share of The Deceased's fortune. So what sorts of challenges can viewers expect for these 'final requests'?

"The requests are very fitting for this lady and her estate,' says Elizabeth. "For example, the first one relates to sourcing and bottling wine; everyone has to put on diving suits and plunge into this hideous lake. The Deceased comes up with a whole host of interesting things for these poor people to do - all of which she would’ve done herself. Obviously."

How lovely that the team has to work together to literally share the wealth...

Hmm... Not quite. You see, there's a catch: Only one player can be named Prime Beneficiary from each request and they must convince the others that they alone should take all the money they earned as a group. The Inheritance is not about who deserves the cash - but who can outsmart the rest to claim it!

So how exactly is the Prime Beneficiary chosen?

Once each of The Deceased's requests is complete, players gather for the Division Ceremony, with a brave few stepping forward to make the claim to be Prime Beneficiary and take all the money they earned as a team.

As discussions - and arguments - ensue, The Executor is casting a watchful eye on proceedings...

"At first, I was very much playing a part of The Executor but then it started to really matter to me that any encounters I had with these participants were real, just as it would be putting someone on the spot in the witness box," says Robert. "It’s not just about winning the money; there are a number of emotional, psychological and sociological elements, too. I’m rarely surprised by anything but what transpires really did alter my perception of how I believed people behaved."

Where is The Inheritance filmed?

The Inheritance is filmed at a grand country estate in Devon, which enabled Elizabeth to fully immerse herself into the character of The Deceased.

"The fact we were getting dressed and made up in that big house made a real difference," she says. "It is exquisite and a real treat to be there. And we had an amazing costumier, Miranda Almond, who found the most fabulous couture. I knew I wouldn’t need to see any photos or do any fittings beforehand - I trusted she was going to bring me great dresses and she did!"

The Great British Bake Off is back! What were the bakers like this year?

Paul Hollywood: “The bakers this year are amazing and really nice. What we're attracting now is not just bakers, they're engineers, they're artists, they're creative, so their bakes are elevated to another level. ‘This was the hardest year to decide who's going to leave. The quality was excellent."

Prue Leith: “Every year, I think it can't get better. But it does! They were a good mix. We had very artistic people, like hairdressers and a wedding stylist and designers, so their Showstoppers were amazing. And they were good fun!”

The Great British Bake Off starts in the UK on Tuesday, September 2 at 8pm on Channel 4 and will be available on the channel’s streaming site from the same date. And in the US it will air as The Great British Baking Show from Friday, September 5 on Netflix.

Darren went looking for Morgan but has not returned home all night.

Unbeknownst to Nancy, Darren has tracked down Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) and is interrogating her as he is certain she has something to do with his missing daughter.

Detective Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) is also on Clare’s trail.

Evil Clare has broken her bail conditions and not returned home and Donny is determined to find her.

Clare’s grandfather, Froggy (John Middleton) suggests to Donny that he goes with the detective to the location that Clare has been traced to.

Donny is shocked to realise that Froggy is Clare and Grace’s grandfather.

Do Donny and Froggy have a history of some sort?

Elsewhere, Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) encourages her friend, Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher )to go and visit Tony in prison.

She tells Diane he’s a good man and if he was here he would be the first one out looking for missing Morgan.

Later, Nancy is introduced to the family liaison officer; Annie.

However, while Annie is busy on a call Nancy is HORRIFIED when she gets a ransom text message demanding she pay up 10K if she ever wants to see her daughter Morgan alive again.

Who has kidnapped Morgan and how will Darren react when Nancy fills him in on the latest terrifying twist in their daughter’s disappearance?

Plus Jacob has some news for Frankie that leaves her devastated.

Morgan vanished in yesterday’s episode when big sister Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith), who was supposed to be looking after her, left her alone while she rushed out to meet her boyfriend, Jacob Omari (Ethaniel Davey).

Tonight the Osbornes are frantically trying to locate the little girl and want to know who is responsible for taking her after their house was broken into.

Detective Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) is helping with the search and asking everyone questions.

Frankie encourages Jacob to lie and say that they were at the house the whole time when Morgan went missing, not wanting to get into any further trouble.

However Jacob forces Frankie to admit the truth.

Morgan’s mum, Nancy (Jessica Fox) is absolutely furious to learn they left her alone and Darren has no hesitation in accusing Jacob of being involved in Morgan’s abduction.

When teenage Jacob, who was being controlled by a gang headed up by Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix), receives a text message from Clare the whole Osborne family turn on him.

Is Jacob really involved in Morgan’s disappearance?

And will Frankie turn against him too when she thinks he is somehow to blame?

Meanwhile, Pearl Anderson (Dawn Hope), Jack Osborne (Jimmy McKenna) and Nancy light candles and say a prayer for Morgan's safe return, convinced Clare is involved.

Darren finds Clare and corners her in a storage container when no one else is around.

What is Clare doing there?

And who or what is hiding in the storage container?

Elsewhere, Froggy (John Middleton) tells his granddaughter Grace that he’s determined to bring the Black family back together but Grace is suffering as she continues to be haunted by memories from her past.

Plus Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) is worried when she sees her fiancé Jez at the Love Boat with his ex, John Paul McQueen (James Sutton).

Jez has to throw Liberty off the scent as he tries to cover up his latest crimes.

Having made his way to the village, Froggy, who is the grandfather of Grace Black (Tamara Wall), Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) and Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey), manipulates Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor-Dawson) into giving Rex a job.

Froggy wants to help Rex when he discovers he is living in his van after being made homeless.

Meanwhile with their plea hearing that day, Clare begs her sister Grace to stick to their plan and plead ‘not guilty’.

But it seems that Grace has got other ideas.

Over at the Osbornes it’s Morgan’s first day at school and doting parents Darren and Nancy are spoiling her.

However they are alarmed when Morgan trips over and Clare rushes to help her. The protective parents warn Clare to stay well away from their child.

Later on Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) is left looking after Morgan at home.

However Frankie has got other things on her mind.

She and her boyfriend Jacob Omari (Ethaniel Davey) are planning to get intimate and Jacob heads off to the shop to buy protection.

When Frankie realises he’s left his wallet behind she leaves the house and runs after him to meet him halfway.

But things are about to take an alarming turn.

When Frankie returns home she’s horrified to discover the house has been broken into and even worse, Morgan is missing!

A terrified Frankie is left to break the news to Nancy that the little girl has vanished.

Has twisted Clare got something to do with Morgan’s disappearance?

Meanwhile Grace is struggling with recent revelations and turns to drink and Darren encourages Diane (Alex Fletcher) to visit Tony in prison when he learns that his mate really isn’t coping at all well behind bars.

Plus, there is more drama involving the Blake family.

Serial killer Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) is out to silence his daughter Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) after realising she knows too much about his killer secrets.

However things take a horrifying turn when he tells her family that it was Sienna who murdered Dilly Harcourt (Emma Johnsey Smith)!

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo... 75th Anniversary, BBC1, 8 pm

The military spectacular marks 75 years with the theme of ‘The Heroes Who Made Us’. For the first time, there is a storyteller who weaves together the show’s heritage with tales of the individuals who work in their communities to make others’ lives better. The line-up includes performers from the UK, Poland and Switzerland, with both the Orchestra of Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the United States Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps making their Tattoo debuts, and there’s the traditional lone piper on the castle ramparts.

Fake or Fortune… What Happened Next? BBC1, 6.30 pm

Fiona Bruce and Philip Mould reopen the files on one of their old cases. In 2024, a painting bought at auction for £2,000 by amateur collector David Taylor turned out to be a lost work, known as The Bean Harvest, by Canadian impressionist Helen McNicoll. A happy ending, then. But it turns out the story was far from over. Following the episode’s release, David was offered a staggering £300,000 for the piece by Canadian philanthropist Pierre Lassonde. Yet in an extraordinary twist, he turned down the offer and decided to try his luck at auction. Did his punt pay off, or did his luck run out?

If you’ve been following the morphine thief storyline closely and are keen to know who the real culprit is, you will not want to miss tonight’s episode, as their identity is revealed. Meanwhile, accused of a crime he didn’t commit, Jacob (Charles Venn) isn’t taking the investigation into him lying down. His (former?) bezzie mate Iain (Michael Stevenson) is by his side every step of the way, although their bromance is still broken. Iain’s marriage to Faith is on pretty shaky ground, too… Elsewhere, Nicole’s attempts to help vulnerable Cassie flee from Holby end in tragedy and open a Pandora’s box on her own painful past in the process.

Annika, BBC1, 9.10 pm

When a block of ice containing a body is discovered between the islands of Islay and Jura, Annika (Nicola Walker) and Michael (Jamie Sives) head to the Inner Hebrides, where they’re joined again by Harper Weston (Doctor Who’s Varada Sethu), who’s now been transferred to the Marine Homicide Unit. Just as Annika and Michael have found a way to talk about their daughter Morgan, Annika gets sidetracked when she realises that her ex Jake (Paul McGann) is at a conference on Islay. What follows is another entertaining episode of the police procedural, with the usual quirks thrown in – including an unusual tattoo, George Orwell’s 1984 and a brief foray into Call the Midwife territory for Annika.

Bettany Hughes' Lost Worlds, C4, 8.10 pm

For her latest series, Bettany Hughes uncovers the mysteries and legacy of the Nabataeans, an extraordinary desert people who flourished in a kingdom with the capital city of Petra (in southern Jordan) between the 4th century BC and 1st century AD. ‘They were the engine of ancient civilisation, but have been largely written out of history. I wanted to show just how important they were’, says Bettany. In Hegra (in modern-day Saudi Arabia), using the latest archaeological techniques, the historian reveals a desert city once a bustling hub of Nabataean life, uncovers tombs containing human remains and employs a drone to capture artwork from thousands of years ago that has never been seen before.

Great Gardens of Europe, 5, 6.20 pm

If you’re looking for an opportunity to escape and unwind, there are few better ways than a trip to beautiful green spaces – without even having to leave your sofa. This new series does what it says on the tin and shows us some of Europe’s best gardens. This first episode begins near Amsterdam with the site of one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world, Leiden’s Hortus Botanicus. As well as exploring its fascinating history, including its role in making tulips popular across the Netherlands, the programme also takes viewers around the gardens to see some of the exotic species in the tropical greenhouses, as well as centuries-old trees.

The Great British Bake Off 2025 is getting ready to welcome a new batch of 12 brave contenders who will be entering TV’s most famous tent in a bid to impress judges Paul Hollywood and Dame Prue Leith.

Before the 16th series of the culinary contest begins, we’ve got an early look at the amateur bakers who will be donning their aprons to create all manner of Signatures, Technicals and Showstoppers under the watchful eye of hosts Alison Hammond and Noel Fielding.

Originally from Manchester, Aaron, who lives with boyfriend Anthony, loves adding Caribbean twists to French patisserie and experimenting with Asian flavours. Outside of baking, he enjoys making his own liqueurs, sewing, cycling and lifting weights, and he is teaching himself French while also studying for a Master’s degree in Computer Science and Data Analytics.

ANALYTICAL RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT SCIENTIST, 30, FROM SOUTH YORKSHIRE

The chemistry graduate, who tests new drugs in the pharmaceutical industry, uses his scientific prowess in his baking and, along with learning different skills, he likes to research new tastes and recipes, and he frequently includes nutty flavours that are a key element in the sweets from his Pakistani roots. Hassan, who lives with his mum, is a keen gamer and quizzer in his spare time.

IAIN

SOFTWARE ENGINEER, 29, FROM BELFAST

A one-time amateur powerlifter, Iain, who originally comes from Coleraine, lives with girlfriend Dervla and cat Viktor. The music-lover dubs himself ‘Yeastie Boy’ due to his enthusiasm for sourdough and he has fun recreating album cover art in the crusts of his loaves. He is also a fan of pickling and utilises fermented fruit and vegetables to give a new spin to classic flavours in his bakes.

MEDICAL STUDENT, 23, FROM LONDON

Edinburgh-born Jasmine grew up making bread and cakes with her mum and aunts, and batch-baked for family holidays in the Highlands. Now, as respite from her medical studies and hospital placements, she whips up treats using fresh, seasonal ingredients and traditional flavours. She lives with her cousins and is a keen sea-swimmer, half-marathon runner and hockey player.

JESSIKA

SERVICE DESIGNER, 32, FROM LONDON

Jessika was raised in Cornwall, where she and sister used to enjoy eating cake after dance classes, and she loves demonstrating her gymnastics and roller-skating talents when she performs as her colourful Drag King persona. She likes to display her creativity and innovation in her baking by mixing surprising flavours, and she often makes birthday entremets for her friends.

LEIGHTON

SOFTWARE DELIVERY MANAGER, 59, FROM SURREY

Originally from Swansea, Leighton used to play the organ in his local church when he was growing up. Married to Californian Eric, he likes to blend Welsh/British and American influences in his bakes, while he uses his fondness for maths and formulae to create the perfect recipes. He has an Irish Terrier, Cilla, and frequently sings tunes from musical Les Misérables while cooking up a storm!

HAIRDRESSER, 59, FROM KENT

Avid birdwatcher and gardener Lesley, who lives with partner Mark and dogs Norman and Marley, has been baking since she was 10 after being taught by her nanny and auntie. Now, she serves cakes to her hairdressing clients and makes comforting traditional bakes with modern, eye-catching designs. She is eager to inspire her granddaughter, Mabel, to follow in her footsteps.

HAIRDRESSER, 41, FROM LIVERPOOL

Ex-personal trainer Nadia has a penchant for fusing Italian and Indian cuisine and was inspired to cook by her dad, an Italian chef. The Scouser lives with partner Daniel and daughters Rosa-Bella and Maria and makes big Sunday feasts for her family. She creates novelty cakes and develops imaginative approaches to classic recipes to suit her rustic and soulful style, and she loves dancing in her kitchen!

NATALIIA

OFFICE ASSISTANT, 32, FROM EAST YORKSHIRE

Economics graduate Nataliia moved from Ukraine four years ago and her family followed on as refugees from the war with Russia. Her grandmother sparked her love of baking and she now uses Ukrainian-inspired ingredients, such as honey and spices, in old-school British bakes. She enjoys running, painting and walking her Ukrainian rescue dog Aria, and she lives with husband Harry and daughter Francesca.

PUI MAN

BRIDAL DESIGNER, 51, FROM ESSEX

Ardent knitter Pui Man, who was born in Hong Kong, lives with her husband and two children, and volunteers to distribute surplus food from supermarkets to her community. She rediscovered the joy of baking in lockdown and has an eye for detail when designing wedding dresses, and brings the same perfectionism to her bakes – and she would love a hug from Paul Hollywood!

TOBY

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE, 29, FROM WARWICKSHIRE

Raised in Sidmouth, Devon, Toby lives with girlfriend Syd and rescue dog Bex, and he has spent the last three years renovating his home. He works for a fitness start-up and has a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, so he tries to bring a simple, healthy take to his bakes, which are based on classic recipes and flavours. Bread is his forte and each day he makes something different.

TOM

CREATIVE ENTREPRENEUR, 31, FROM LONDON

Tom, who has been with his boyfriend for three years, used to work at his own advertising agency, but food is his passion, which he shares with his family, as he learnt to bake with his mum and Danish granny, and he now fishes with his brother and forages for mushrooms and cooks roasts with his dad. He adds creative twists to his bakes and he prides himself on his presentation.

The Great British Bake Off 2025 will air on Channel 4 later this autumn and we will let you know the exact date as soon as it is announced.

Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) is TERRIFIED when she fears she could become her father, Jez Blake’s (Jeremy Sheffield) next victim in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

Jez is now aware that his daughter Sienna knows that he is a serial killer and he will stop at NOTHING to silence her.

Tonight he tracks down Sienna and finds her on the run.

A cat and mouse chase between father and daughter gets underway in a garden centre as Sienna attempts to flee from her father with him in hot pursuit.

With Sienna in his clutches, Jez twists things round and plays the victim.

He pleads for help over the garden centre tannoy, claiming Sienna is armed and after him.

Sienna’s brother, Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) is alarmed when Jez makes all kinds of claims about Sienna and is not sure who to believe.

Will Jez convince Dodger that it is Sienna who is a dangerous killer?

Elsewhere, more secrets are revealed in the Black household after siblings Grace Black (Tamara Wall), Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) and Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) are forced to spend time with their criminal grandfather, Froggy (John Middleton).

Tonight Grace is shaken to her core when more truths emerge.

It’s all too much for Grace and she runs from the house.

Rex finds her in a distraught state but he doesn’t trust her and thinks it is another ploy she is using to stop him speaking out against her to the police.

Grace pleads with him to believe her version of events but he coldly pushes her away.

Later on, more HORRIFYING secrets relating to Grace are set to be revealed!

Plus, the Osborne family is ready for their youngest child, Morgan (Lottie-Rose Mulhall) to start primary school.

However, trouble is brewing when the little girl decides she doesn’t want to go.

Can her parents Nancy (Jessica Fox) and Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) get her through the school gates?

There is panic when pregnant Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) falls seriously unwell in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm. (See our TV Guide for full listings).

It’s the day of the flower competition, ‘Hollyoaks In Bloom’ and Cleo’s girlfriend and florist Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) is there.

However Sienna is terrified when she finds Cleo doubled over and in excruciating pain.

Worried that something might be wrong with her unborn baby boy, the two of them rush to hospital.

Meanwhile at the flower show, secret serial killer and gardener, Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) is among the competitors vying for a prize.

However the show takes a different turn when Sienna’s brother, Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) turns up and breaks some HORRIFIC news.

What has happened and has Jez committed murder again?

Elsewhere, things are incredibly tense between Grace Black (Tamara Wall) and her sister, Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) ever since their brother, Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) turned them into the police and was released from prison himself.

The sisters have been further divided following the shock appearance of their sinister grandfather, Froggy (John Middleton), who showed up at their flat after being on day release from prison.

Tonight Froggy is adamant he and his three grandchildren should all have a family meal together.

However Rex is made to feel increasingly uncomfortable when Froggy makes barbed jibes at him about being a snitch.

Later when Clare learns that her daughter, Tori Blake (Harriet O’Shea) is playing the piano at a village concert, she, Grace, Rex and Froggy all go off to support her but events take an unexpected turn when something triggers Grace leaving her in a panic.

Back at Grace’s flat, Clare and Froggy attempt to comfort Grace when she is floored by some haunting memories.

What traumatic events from the past has Grace been triggered into remembering?

Meanwhile, Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox) treats her daughter Morgan (Lottie-Rose Mulhall) ahead of her starting primary school and they head to The Hutch for some treats.

However there's tension when Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) arrives and publicly accuses Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) in front of all his customers.

Mercy also takes a swipe at Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) over Ella Richardson’s death. Ste killed Ella earlier in the year after knocking her over in a hit-and-run road accident.

How will a guilt-racked Ste respond as Mercy unleashes a torrent of accusations?

Serial killer Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) looks like he’s going to MURDER again when he finds himself backed into a corner in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

Viewers recently saw Jez’s daughter, Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) horrified when she worked out her dad had claimed many victims including Bobby Costello, Robbie Roscoe and Dennis Savage and had been keeping mementos of them buried in his allotment.

Since discovering her dad’s killer secret, Sienna is terrified for her own safety and tonight she is desperate to flee the village with her children.

She has arranged to collect new identities for her family and is planning to start a new life far away from Chester.

However, her escape plan is halted when Jez suddenly shows up along with Sienna’s sister, Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) and her brother Dodger Savage (Danny Mac).

Meanwhile, Sienna’s girlfriend, Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) is alarmed by Sienna’s frantic behaviour and decides an intervention is needed.

Later, Jez finds Sienna alone in the folly and quizzes her on her plans, telling his daughter he doesn’t want her to leave him.

Sienna tells Jez she connects with him better than anyone else but if they’re to continue being in each other’s lives, he must hand himself in and confess to his crimes.

Wanting the love of his daughter, twisted Jez agrees to go to the police.

However, the confession takes a TRAGIC turn when Jez decides to take a different course of action.

Is he about to kill again?

Elsewhere, Grace Black (Tamara Wall) tries to reconnect with her brother Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) who has recently been released from prison.

However Rex, who grassed on both Grace and his sister, Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) gives Grace the brush off.

Meanwhile, Clare is angry that Grace is prepared to forgive Rex for turning them in to the police.

However, she has got more on her plate when her grandfather, Froggy (Emmerdale's John Middleton) shows up at the flat.

Froggy, who is an inmate at the same prison where his grandson Rex was being held, is out on day release and is keen to build bridges with his granddaughter, Grace.

Grace apologises for ignoring the letter he sent to her but Clare has harsh words for Froggy and tells him to stay well away from the two of them.

However, Froggy completely ignores her wishes when he later shows up at the flat with Rex and insists the four of them have a family meal together!

Elsewhere, tensions are simmering between Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) and her mother, Leela Lomax (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) when the two of them have found themselves in competition for the attention of Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer).

Tonight Leela attempts to play things down but gets herself in hot water when her comments about Prince are overheard by the man himself!

The Great British Bake Off 2025 (or The Great British Baking Show if you're in the US) is on the way, and once again, the series has just released a gem of a trailer.

Over the years, the show's trailers have become a highlight for fans with their cheeky humour and quirkiness, and this year's offering is no different.

The new clip, which is just over a minute long, opens at the beginning of time, and soon, what looks like a meteor starts flying through a starry sky. However, in a hilarious twist, the rock turns out to be an egg, falling into a bowl of cake mixture.

The animated trailer then sees the evolution of humans, which turn into Noel and Alison before opening with a sunny, fully formed world, complete with animals, plants, and even a Prue Leith-shaped sunshine.

Fans will be thrilled that the trailer confirms Prue will be returning to the series after she was replaced in The Great Celebrity Bake Off 2025 earlier this year by Caroline Waldegrave OBE.

While we still have a little wait to find out who will be taking part in the series this year, the show will follow the same format and once again see more cake-related catastrophes and mouthwatering recipes.

We will also have a new batch of bakers enter the tent, all with one mission in mind — impress Paul and Prue enough to win the coveted title of Star Baker, and perhaps with the odd Hollywood handshake added in for good measure.

Each week, the bakers will once again face the regular challenge trinity: the signature, technical and showstopper. Alongside returning themes of Cake, Biscuit, Caramel, Bread, Pastry, Dessert, and Pâtisserie, last year we saw two new weeks: Autumn and 1970s.

The Great British Bake Off 2025 will return to Channel 4 in the UK and Netflix in the US.

There's some edge-of-your-seat drama landing on Channel 4 today (Tuesday, August 12) as new psychological thriller, In Flight, lands.

The six-part series, which will air today, Wednesday and Thursday evening this week and the same next week, also lands on Channel4.com as a box set, ready for you to binge at your leisure.

The series stars Coronation Street and Mr Bates vs The Post Office star Katherine Kelly, as single mum Jo Conran, who works as a flight attendant.

However, Jo's world is turned upside down when her 19-year-old son Sonny is jailed in Bulgaria for killing a lad in a drunken brawl - a murder he swears he didn’t commit.

Things take a horrifying turn when Jo’s approached by hardened gang leader Cormac (Stuart Martin), who warns her that Sonny will be killed in jail unless she uses her job as cover to smuggle vast quantities of heroin from Istanbul and Bangkok.

But as Jo’s coerced into carrying out the crime syndicate’s orders, risking everything in the process, she gets pulled into a violent world of corrupt cops and brutal assassins while desperately trying to keep her son alive. But Jo will do anything to protect her family.

Jo’s customs officer ex Dom, is possibly the only one who can help Jo out of her hellish predicament. But as the series progresses, can anyone – even Jo’s son – be trusted?

Speaking of her new role, Katherine told us: "Jo will do anything to save her son. She’s an ordinary woman, yet by the end of episode two she’s got a gun to somebody’s head! Not only did I not expect the twists and turns, but they also came thicker and faster than any other series I've ever been in. Roller coaster is a very overused word for a thriller, but I’m struggling to think of one better!

"Every actor’s process is different, but I’m a homework kind of girl and, luckily, a friend of mine works at an airline, so I spent a day there with him. You’ve also got to let your imagination go to some dark places because it’s a dark topic. But I don’t hold on to anything, otherwise I’d just burn out. I have a good on-off switch!"

In Flight starts on Channel 4 on Tuesday, August 12 2025, at 9pm.

There are three episodes per week from Tuesday to Thursday, all at 9 pm, so the series ends on Thursday, 21 August.

Things are looking very bleak indeed for Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

In yesterday’s episode an almighty confrontation erupted at Bobby Costello’s (Zak Sutcliffe) funeral when revelations about Tony’s fling with Bobby’s mum, Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) surfaced.

But that wasn’t all.

Details about Bobby’s death implicating Tony also came to light!

Tonight, Tony and his wife Diane (Alex Fletcher) are both taken in for questioning by police.

Viewers saw Tony accidentally run over Bobby and ever since then he has believed he was the one who killed him.

However, what he doesn’t know is that Bobby was already dead when he was hit by his car, having been previously bludgeoned to death by serial killer, Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield).

Tony and Diane plotted to hide any evidence of the car accident by hiding their car but what view will the police take of Bobby’s death as more facts emerge?

Elsewhere, Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) is in a panic having recently uncovered the truth about her serial killer father Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield).

When she confronted Jez the two of them got into a fight and disaster struck when they both fell from a high wall.

After being knocked unconscious, Sienna later recovered but has since been faking memory loss in order to protect herself from Jez.

Tonight Sienna tells Jez and her sister Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) that it looks like she won’t ever regain her lost memory.

However, Liberty smells a rat and worries that Sienna is keeping something from her.

Later on, Sienna is found frantically trying to sell all the stock from her flower stall much to Liberty’s horror.

Panicked, she pays Dodger (Danny Mac) a visit at the police station, but before she gets to speak to him, Jez arrives on the scene.

What is he planning to do to ensure Sienna stays silent about his heinous crimes?

Meanwhile, Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) has been enjoying some attention from Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) and also her mum, Leela Lomax (Kirsty-Leigh Porter).

Both women seem very keen on the charming McQueen.

Tonight Prince has two separate dates with them BOTH.

John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) is not impressed and tells Prince he needs to choose who he’d rather be with, mum Leela or daughter Peri?

However Leela’s brother, Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) overhears the conversation and tells Prince he needs to stay well away from both his sister and his niece.

What will Prince do?

The funeral of Bobby Costello (Zak Sutcliffe) descends into chaos when a HUGE showdown erupts during the ceremony in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

Earlier on, as the service gets underway Bobby’s heartbroken mum, Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) prepares to stand in front of the friends and family to share some words about her beloved son.

However trouble is brewing and when Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) arrives.

Spotting her in the wings her husband Tony (Nick Pickard) rushes to try and head her off.

Diane was left HORRIFIED in yesterday’s episode when some revelations about Tony, who she has only recently got back together with, surfaced.

As viewers know, Tony has recently enjoyed a fling with Mercedes which they have been desperately trying to keep under wraps.

Has Diane discovered their secret?

And is it all about to kick off at the funeral?

It certainly looks that way when there’s a showdown which is live-streamed to the entire village!

However, even more shocking revelations are going to emerge when new details about Bobby’s death come to light!

Meanwhile, Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) offers to look after Leela Lomax’s (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) son Daniel for the day.

Daniel and Prince bond as they go out shopping together and later on, Leela’s daughter Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell), who has taken a shine to Prince, asks him out for some drinks.

It’s a yes from Prince!

At home Leela notices her daughter has a spring in her step but Peri denies it’s down to Prince.

Meanwhile, Peri encourages her mum to get back in the dating world.

Later on Prince finds a note from Peri at Casa McQueen saying she is looking forward to their date but at the same time a message from Leela, who has taken Peri's dating advice on board, pops up on his phone asking him for some no strings fun!

It looks like Peri and her mum are both competing for Prince’s attention.

Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe) is APPALLED when she believes it was her own brother who killed her son, Bobby (Zak Sutcliffe) in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

The day starts with the McQueen family preparing for Bobby’s funeral which is going to be live-streamed for those unable to attend.

At The Dog, alcoholic John Paul McQueen (James Sutton) is trying to get served but landlords Diane (Alex Fletcher) and Tony (Nick Pickard) refuse him, not wanting to encourage his drinking.

Emotions are already running high and Tony is horrified when a heartbroken Mercy suddenly comes bursting into the pub, saying she finally knows who killed Bobby!

Tony, who believes HE was the killer after running over Bobby in his car, assumes the worst and thinks that Mercedes is going to publicly accuse him.

However, Mercedes is pointing the finger of blame closer to home having convinced herself it was her own brother, John Paul, who was responsible for his untimely death.

Meanwhile, the real killer, John Paul’s ex fiancé, Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) is wandering around with no-one having any idea he was the one who bludgeoned Bobby to death with a rock.

In a high state of agitation Mercedes, who has recently enjoyed a fling with Tony, asks him if he can be by her side to support her through the funeral.

Tony, who is racked with guilt, reluctantly agrees.

However, all hell is going to break loose and disturbing revelations are going to be made during the live-streaming of the funeral when two villagers unearth a HUGE secret involving Tony.

What have they discovered?

Elsewhere, detective Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) breaks the news to Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) and Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) that the police can no longer protect them, forcing Rex, who’s recently been released from prison, to make a decision that leaves Ste devastated.

Meanwhile, Prince McQueen (Malique Thompson-Dwyer) asks Pearl Anderson (Dawn Hope) if she’s heard from her grand-daughter, Zoe Anderson (Garcia Brown), the mother of his child and his ex.

Pearl puts her foot in it revealing that Zoe is newly engaged and wants her new fiancé to adopt their son, Theo.

Prince is completely heartbroken to hear that she has moved on and another man is going to get to be dad to his boy.

Later on a downcast Prince gets a helping hand from mother and daughter, Leela Lomax (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) and Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) who take over some supplies to the McQueens.

When the three of them start chatting, the two women are struck by Prince’s kindness and start seeing the single man in a whole new light!

Could a new romance for one of them be in the offing?

It’s too much for Mercedes who is overcome with grief and unable to face up to the reality that her young son is gone.

Distressed, she flees from the village.

Elsewhere, things seem to be looking up for former couple Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) and Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey).

Following Rex’s release from prison the two of them have rekindled their relationship and spent the night together.

However they are worried about Ste’s son, Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) finding out.

How will Lucas, who despises Rex for what he’s done, react if he catches the two of them together?

When word spreads that Rex is out of prison, Lucas isn’t the only villager who disapproves.

Lots of the locals are angry that he’s been released and make their feelings known.

Meanwhile, Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) and his ex-wife, Diane (Alex Fletcher) who have recently got back together, are terrified that Tony’s damaged car is going to be linked to the accident which killed Bobby.

Diane and Tony unite to keep Darren and Mercedes distracted when their battered car is towed away from the garage.

Plus, there are further developments with the Blake family when John Paul McQueen makes a confession relating to Bobby’s death.

Serial killer, Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffeld), confessed all to his horrified daughter Sienna Blake before things took a tragic twist in yesterday’s episode.

Sienna’s girlfriend, Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) and Sienna’s sister, Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) fear for her safety after they make a SHOCKING DISCOVERY!

Meanwhile, Sienna’s brother, detective Dodger Savage (Danny Mac), confirms Bobby McQueen’s (Zak Sutcliffe) cause of death to his devastated mother, Mercedes McQueen (Jennifer Metcalfe).

However Dodger is interrupted when news reaches him of a terrible accident that has just happened.

Over at The Hutch, Tony Hutchinson (Nick Pickard) prepares for a BBQ for the locals.

His friend and restaurant colleague, Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) urges Tony to postpone the BBQ in light of recent tragic events.

However Tony is determined to plough on with it saying he doesn’t want to waste any of his stock.

Elsewhere, prisoner Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) is released from jail and returns to the village but keeps to the shadows, wary of how his sisters, Grace Black (Tamara Wall) and Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) will react to seeing him around again.

Later on Ste tries to reach out to his son, Lucas Hay (Oscar Curtis) to try and patch up their troubled father/ son relationship but Lucas gives his father the brush-off.

Meanwhile Rex is keen to pick up where he left off with Ste and is hopeful for a reunion between the two of them but Ste says they need to get Lucas’s blessing before rekindling their relationship.

When Rex, who shopped his sisters Grace and Clare to the police, shows up at Grace’s flat, Clare is less than impressed.

However Grace insists she doesn’t want to lose another brother and pleads with her sister to leave him unharmed.

Ste later finds Rex loitering about outside The Dog.

With his son Lucas out for the night, Ste invites his ex, Rex, over to his.

Are the two men going to get back together?

Meanwhile, Martha Blake (Sherrie Hewson) prepares to take decisive action when her son Jez’s safety is compromised.

Plus Tony and his wife Diane Hutchinson (Alex Fletcher) are sent into a spin when Tony is certain it’s only a matter of time before the fatal crash, in which Bobby died, is traced back to him.

Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) demands answers after working out the truth about her killer dad, Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) in tonight’s Hollyoaks on at 7pm (See our TV Guide for full listings).

Last week’s episodes saw Sienna uncovering the extent of Jez’s serial killings when she did some digging at his allotment and discovered he had been keeping reminders of all his victims!

Tonight a horrified Sienna returns home to her family and girlfriend Cleo McQueen (Nadine Mulkerrin) with muddy hands, sick to her stomach.

However Jez is nowhere to be found. A worried Sienna, who now fears for her own life, locks herself in the bathroom while she works out her next move.

When Jez eventually arrives home he realises he can no longer hide the truth from her anymore. He asks his daughter to meet him at the allotment so he can tell her everything.

At the allotment Jez unburdens himself and tells his daughter the extent of his crimes. The serial killer feels liberated as he no longer has to hide anything anymore but Sienna is utterly appalled to hear about all his victims.

Sent into a panic she runs away and urgently tries to contact her brother, Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) to fill him in on Jez’s shocking confessions.

However, as she flees towards the city walls, Jez chases after her and when he catches up there are TRAGIC consequences.

Has Jez done something to his daughter to silence her or will some other fate befall Sienna?

Elsewhere, prisoner Tom Cunningham (Ellis Hollins) introduces his fellow inmate, Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) to top dog, Froggy (John Middleton).

Rex is stunned to learn that Froggy is his estranged grandfather.

Later on Rex has good news when he’s told by Detective Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) that he’s going to be released from prison later that day.

Plus, Cleo admits to Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart) she feels like her girlfriend, Sienna, is keeping something back from her and not always being her true self.

Liberty reassures Cleo, telling her Sienna is like her father, Jez, and constantly self-sabotages not feeling worthy of love.

Meanwhile, worried Martha Blake (Sherrie Hewson) begins to fear the worst when she tries to get in touch with her son, Jez, but he seems to have gone to ground.

Riot Women (BBC One and BBC iPlayer)

The six-parter Riot Women is by Happy Valley and Gentleman Jack writer Sally Wainwright follows a group of spirited middle-aged Yorkshire women who form a punk-rock band for a local talent contest. As their musical endeavours give them all a new lease of life, a revelation comes to the fore causes huge trouble. Lorraine Ashbourne, Joanna Scanlan, Amelia Bullmore, Rosalie Craig and Tamsin Greig play the band members. Do also look out for veteran stars Anne Reid and Sue Johnston.

I Fought The Law (ITV1 and ITVX)

Sheridan Smith stars in I Fought The Law, which is an emotional four-part drama based on the true story of Ann Ming, who campaigned to change the Double Jeopardy law, which had prevented someone from being tried twice for the same crime, following her daughter’s brutal murder. Julie, 22, had gone missing in November 1989 in Billingham, Cleveland, and her body was found hidden under the bath in her home.

Her murderer, William Dunlop, was wrongfully acquitted but, years later, confessed to the crime. Thanks to Ann’s tireless campaigning, the 800-year-old legislation was overturned and Dunlop was jailed for life. Daniel York Loh plays Anne’s late husband Charlie Ming.

The Guest (BBC One and BBC iPlayer)

Torchwood and Keeping Faith star Eve Myles plays business owner Fran, who recruits Ria (Gabrielle Creevy) as a cleaner in four-part thriller The Guest. The duo become friends when Fran helps Ria to decide what she really wants from life, but things go wrong after Fran’s advice leads to a devastating incident and the women are drawn into a chilling plot. Emun Elliott and Sion Daniel Young co-star.

Trespasses (Channel 4)

Set in 1975 against the turbulent backdrop of all the Troubles in Northern Ireland, this four-parter follows star-crossed lovers Cushla (Lola Petticrew), a spirited Catholic schoolteacher, and Michael (Tom Cullen), a controversial married barrister, as they embark on a passionate but dangerous liaison. Gillian Anderson plays Cushla’s eccentric mother, Gina.

The Forsytes (5)

Based on the classic Forsyte Saga novels by John Galsworthy, six-part period drama The Forsytes is set in the late Victorian era and follows the lives a well-to-do family of stockbrokers, as they wrestle with who’ll take over the family firm. Joshua Orpin plays Soames Forsyte and Millie Gibson is his dancer bride Irene (see pictured above), while Francesca Annis is matriarch Ann, alongside a strong supporting cast that includes Stephen Moyer, Tuppence Middleton, Eleanor Tomlinson and Jack Davenport.

King & Conqueror (BBC One and BBCIplayer)

This epic eight-part period drama King & Conqueror follows the Norman conquest of Britain, one of the most decisive historical events in our history, after the infamous Battle of Hastings in 1066. Harold of Wessex (James Norton) and William of Normandy (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) began as allies but ended up bitter enemies as they fought for control of the British throne. Emily Beecham plays Edith Swan Neck, the wife of Harold while Clémence Poésy is William’s wife, Matilda. Eddie Marsan, Claire Holman, Juliet Stevenson, Joseph Mawle, Elliot Cowan and Jean-Marc Barr also star.

The Death of Bunny Munro (Sky Atlantic and NOW)

The Death of Bunny Munro is a drama starring former Doctor Who star Matt Smith, which is based on Nick Cave's book about a father/son road trip. After the suicide of his wife Libby, sex addict and lothario Bunny finds himself the sole carer of his nine-year-old son Bunny Junior (Rafael Mathé), with very little idea of how to parent.

As the pair embark on a road trip across southern England, Bunny Junior starts to unravel as a result of his grief. Both are dealing with their grief in very different ways. While older Bunny tries to bed every woman he can, Bunny Junior spends his time talking to his mother’s ghost and trying to distract himself from the fact his dad is a chaotic mess. As Bunny Junior starts to spiral, Bunny realises he must do something to rescue his son from his own outdated notions of what it is to be a man.

Coldwater (ITV1 and ITVX)

Coldwater sees Andrew Lincoln play John, a stay-at-home dad struggling to cope when a violent incident in a playground leaves him so troubled that he and wife Fiona (Indira Varma) decide to move their family to the (fictional) titular Scottish village to start over. But things get even more complicated in this six-part thriller when John bonds with charismatic neighbour Tommy (Ewen Bremner) who is hiding some very dark secrets…

Murder Before Evensong (5)

Murder Before Evensong is based on the debut novel Murder Before Evensong by the Reverend Richard Coles and is a six-part whodunnit series. Harry Potter star Matthew Lewis plays crime-solving cleric Canon Daniel Clement, while Amanda Redman as his nonsense mother, Audrey.

The Woman in Cabin 10 (Netflix)

Based on the bestseller The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware this one-off thriller follows a journalist, played by Keira Knightley (above), who is given the travel assignment of a lifetime when she's asked to cover the maiden voyage of a luxury cruise liner, which then sets sail. Then, late one night, she witnesses a passenger tossed overboard and tries to raise the alarm. However, she is told she must have dreamed it because all passengers are safe and accounted for.

Yet despite no one believing her, she continues to search for the truth, even if it means putting her own life in danger. Other stars include Hollywood star Guy Pearce, Ted Lasso’s Hannah Waddingham, Ajala, Gitte Witt, Art Malik, Daniel Ings, David Morrissey, Christopher Rygh, Paul Kaye, Kaya Scodelario, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, John Macmillan, Pippa Bennett-Warner and Ayọ̀ Owóyẹmi-Peters.

Down Cemetery Road (Apple TV Plus)

Adapted from the 2003 novel Down Cemetery Road by Mick Herron, who is also the author of Slow Horses, this eight-episode thriller stars Ruth Wilson as Sarah Tucker, who asks private eye Zoë Boehm (Dame Emma Thompson) to help find a child she suspects has vanished in Oxford, UK, but a complex conspiracy unfolds.

Atomic (Sky Atlantic)

Atomic is an intense five-part thriller stars Alfie Allen as drug-smuggler Max and mysterious Mohammed (Shazad Latif) who find themselves flung together and caught up in a sinister terrorist plot to steal uranium to build an atomic weapon. The pair must decide whether to save themselves or save humanity and must also avoid CIA agent Cassie Elliot (played by Samira Wiley) who is hot on their heels.

The Thursday Murder Club (Netflix)

The movie adaptation of Richard Osman’s 2020 novel The Thursday Murder Club boasts a killer cast as four pensioners-turned-amateur sleuths create cosy chaos in their retirement village. Ex-spy Elizabeth (Dame Helen Mirren), former union activist Ron (Pierce Brosnan), retired psychiatrist Ibrahim (Sir Ben Kingsley) and ex-nurse Joyce (Celia Imrie) meet weekly to discuss cold cases. But when a murder occurs on their doorstep, the quirky quartet becomes embroiled in a real whodunnit. David Tennant, Richard E. Grant, Jonathan Pryce, Naomi Ackie and Tom Ellis star, while Harry Potter’s Chris Columbus directs. ‘It’s a dream to see this book in such incredible hands,’ says Osman. ‘What a cast! I’m pinching myself.’

The popular reality show is now up to season 7 and this time, celebs including S Club and EastEnders star Hannah Spearritt, former dancer and TV personality Louie Spence, to professional boxer Conor Benn and former Premiership footballer Troy Deeney will take on tough physical and mental military challenges such as hanging off a 160ft high wire and plunging the freezing North Sea to jump into a moving speedboat. Harry Clark says: “Growing up, I'd watch people close to me be in the SAS, which always inspired me. This show was a different experience to what I had imagined but I always love a challenge and it proves you're always learning new things about yourself.”

Rebecca Loos adds: “I honestly don't know whether I am mentally strong enough but one of the reasons I want to do this course is because I want to find out whether I'm able to stick it through mentally. But I want to do this course because it's a once in a lifetime opportunity to do an SAS training course. What happens at the start of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins 2025

"This is a course that is really going to challenge me," admits Louie Spence as he realises what he's let himself for at the start of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins 2025. "I’m not going to be able to get myself out of a situation with a high kick and the splits."

The first task of season 7 sees the recruits plunge 26ft into the North Sea where they must swim to a rendezvous point within a minute and jump onto a moving speedboat. And it’s certainly a daunting challenge. "I’m too old for this,’ says 55-year-old Louie Spence. ‘I feel like a grandad in a kids’ school. I don’t think I’m going to last the night."

Other tasks in the series include hanging off a 160ft rope wire, staging a terrifying hostage rescue mission and driving through hostile enemy territory. And as some of the celebrities near breaking point, how long will they last?

Tonight everyone is STUNNED when he pops the question to Liberty Savage (Jessamy Stoddart).

At first he asks her to be his partner for the flower show, Hollyoaks in Bloom, but things soon take a different turn when Jez has marriage on his mind!

Sienna is gobsmacked when her brother, Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) reveals the latest with Jez and Sienna’s sister, Liberty.

Meanwhile, worried dad Darren Osborne (Ashley Taylor-Dawson) confronts his daughter Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) about her relationship with Jacob Omari (Ethaniel Davey).

However, Nancy Osborne (Jessica Fox) gives her husband some advice and Darren decides to take a different tack and go easier on the teens.

Jacob is pleased when Darren invites him for dinner at The Hutch.

However the meal takes an awkward turn when drunk John Paul gatecrashes the family do and is clearly worse for wear.

John Paul has been left crushed following new revelations about Jez.

Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) who is working at The Hutch is really worried to see that alcoholic John Paul who he was once married to, has fallen off the wagon again.

He tries to intervene by taking his drink away from him as an angry John Paul storms off.

Elsewhere things are looking bleak for Grace Black (Tamara Wall) and her sister Clare Devine (Gemma Bissix) following their arrest in yesterday’s episode.

Are the siblings looking at a long stint behind bars for their crimes?

Or is someone going to help soften the blow for them?

Their grandfather, Froggy (John Middleton), currently doing a stretch in prison himself, certainly seems to be taking an interest in the two women.

Tonight, there is drama when Clare comes face to face with the grandfather she clearly despises.

What will Froggy have to say to her?

Meanwhile, Grace is devastated after getting some terrible news about her son, Curtis (Reuben Shepherd).

Is Rex to blame?

Earlier on Grace’s brother, Rex Gallagher (Jonny Labey) changes his police statement naming evil Clare and DI Banks (Drew Cain) as joint leaders in the criminal operations involving human trafficking and drug dealing.

Rex, who up until now has been protecting his sister Grace, also says that Grace was involved in the grooming and manipulation of youngsters Frankie Osborne (Isabelle Smith) and Dillon Ray (Nathaniel Dass).

As a result undercover police are sent to watch Grace’s flat while detectives Donny Clark (Louis Emerick) and Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) wait nearby on standby and poised for any alerts.

An oblivious Clare and Grace are trying to enjoy themselves inside the flat while Grace’s son Curtis (Reuben Shepherd) heads off to go and spend time with Clare’s adopted daughter, Tori Blake (Harriet O’Shea).

However, when Clare leaves the house she rumbles the undercover officer lurking around and comes straight back in to warn Grace.

When Dodger learns the undercover copper may be compromised, he races to the flat but is he going to arrive too late?

Will the sisters be able to make their getaway?

It seems not because later on the pair of them are ARRESTED!

And there are more revelations when word gets back to their grandfather, Fraser Black Snr aka Froggy (played by former Emmerdale star John Middleton).

Froggy is an inmate at Longmere Prison where Tom Cunningham (Elllis Hollins) is also serving time and his ears prick up when he hears about his granddaughters' fate.

Meanwhile Jacob Omari (Ethaniel Davey) and Frankie enjoy hanging out at the park but Jacob has a confession to make.

He confides in Dillon that he’s planning on leaving the village soon.

Elsewhere, Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson) is struggling following his son Lucas Hay’s (Oscar Curtis) recent violent outbursts towards him.

Ste pleads with Lucas telling him he needs to get professional help to treat his aggression however Lucas is having none of it and snaps back at his dad.

Ste’s sister, Leela Lomax (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) is also going through a tough time. She tells Ste how she is struggling to move forward following her painful split with her husband, Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed), the father of her baby daughter.

Plus, Misbah Maalik (Harvey Virdi) shocks her friend and colleague, Peri Lomax (Ruby O’Donnell) when she spills some family news.

In the raunchy anthology drama, Annabel plays Charlotte, a successful heart surgeon who seems happily married to Jacob (Nashville's Sam Palladio), a top anaesthetist, and lives in a swanky cul-de-sac in Yorkshire. But their lives are soon upended when mysterious nurse Mia (The Witcher's Aggy K Adams) joins their team at work and also moves into their street.

As both Charlotte and Jacob are tantalisingly drawn to Mia, tensions mount, while the return of Charlotte’s ex-lover Leo (Heroes' and Never Have I Ever's Sendhil Ramamurthy) also causes turmoil. But events take an even darker turn when patients start unexpectedly dying at the hospital...

The Couple Next Door has so many twists and turns. Did you watch the first season, which starred Eleanor Tomlinson and Sam Heughan?

“Yes, I found the first run gripping but our characters are 10 years older and are dealing with a different time of life so there’s a new flavour. There's also a thriller element, which brings an exciting level of threat!”

The Couple Next Door season 2 airs on Monday 14, Tuesday 15 and Wednesday 16 July at 9pm on Channel 4 in the UK and the concluding episodes are set to air the following week.

The box set will be available on Channel 4's streaming site from the launch date.
