Darcy makes sure Adam and Maxine's engagement do is a disaster.

It's party time for Maxine who's organised her and Adam's engagement do to absolute perfection in Hollyoaks. But Darcy's out to make it an utter disaster...

Darcy initially puts a spanner in the works by telling Maxine that it's Toby's birthday on the same day of the party. Maxine reluctantly agrees that Toby can share in the festivities. But Darcy then takes her son's involvement to stratospheric levels and basically turns the bash into a kids' do.

Mortified, Maxine hits the bottle hard and then throws up as she's making a speech! Could things get any worse for Maxine? Well… could they, Adam?

Darren's dad Jack has some dodgy debts. But when Nancy finds a threatening note from someone demanding their money back, she suspects it her ex-husband, Darren, has started gambling again and confronts him.

Darren knows he has to help his dad, who has been in financial trouble since losing family pub, The Dog, last year. But what can Darren do to solve Jack's money troubles?

Darren tempts fate by getting a betting tip from one of his old gambling buddies. He and Jack place a bet on a horse and then listen to the race on the radio, hoping they will strike it rich!

Darren and Jack are anxious as the race results come in. They've taken a big gamble and risk losing a whole lot if their horse doesn't win. Fingers crossed!

Is it time to celebrate? Darren is excited when he and Jack appear to be on a winning streak. However, is Nancy right to worry that Darren's gambling addiction could return?

How does Darren find out his dad is in big money trouble?

“Someone steals Jade’s cancer fund and Alfie [Richard Linnell] gets the blame. Then Nancy [Jessica Fox] finds a note saying ‘Pay up Osborne’ and she thinks Darren’s taken the money to gamble with.”

Has he taken the money?

“No. He realises the ‘Osborne’ is his dad Jack [Jimmy McKenna]. That he must be in some sort of trouble.”

What does Darren tell Nancy?

“He manages to get away with it. He tells her he was only having a little flutter. He doesn’t want to grass up Jack and he also wants to protect Jade [Kassius Nelson]. He doesn’t want her to know Jack might be corrupt when she has cancer and is going through chemo.”

What does Jack say when Darren confronts him?

“He’s terribly embarrassed about it. He says he doesn’t owe much and that he plans to give Jade the money back.”

Whose idea is it to gamble to get the money Jack owes?

“Jack needs money fast and with Darren it’s once a gambler, always a gambler. Darren thinks he has a dead cert for Jack to gamble on.”

Does Jack go along with it?

“It shows you how desperate Jack is to trust the son who has a gambling problem. But he has no other options and, anyway, remember this is a man who once faked his own death.”

Could this get Darren back into gambling?

“That’s the worry. Once he experiences the feeling of either winning or losing again, he might want to gamble more. Like all gamblers, Darren thinks he can control it… If he gets that hunger back, it could be dangerous.”

Will the secret of Patrick’s hidden body bring danger too?

“That won’t go away. Darren’s already had to confide in Nancy that he helped hide the body in the wall… and the repercussions of the whole mess are going to be quite dramatic.”

Hollyoaks’ Jessica Fox tells Soaplife about the terrifying attack on Nancy - and why the future doesn’t look good for her and Darren.

Nancy and Darren have experienced enough trauma to keep an entire team of counsellors busy for years… So, will their second wedding be a fresh start? The omens aren’t good when a man attacks Nancy at her hen and tries to rape her… “How much more can go wrong for her?” says Jessica. “It will take an awful lot to knock Nancy down, but she is misguided about the wedding. Her and Darren need to deal with what’s happened in the past before they can more forward.”

Why does Nancy want to marry Darren (Ashley Taylor Dawson) again?

“She loves him, that’s the real core of it, and she wants to try and prove to herself and everyone else that nothing will stop her and Darren being together.”

Is Darren helping?

“She feels she’s doing all the wedding work while Darren is playing computer games. I don’t know why she is so surprised, but she gets very frustrated with him. She sees it as him being selfish. That’s been one of her biggest bugbears with Darren, but this time she thought it would be different.”

Rick (Victor Gardener) is very different, isn’t he?

“Where Darren is being selfish, Rick is being incredibly helpful. He’s charming, too and there is a spark there. When he tells Nancy that he’ll leave her alone it makes her look at him again. I think that what she’s doing is trying, unconsciously, to get her own back on Darren for cheating.”

That’s dangerous...

“I know and she feels horrific but, for some reason, she can’t help herself.”

What happens at the hen do?

“It’s the worst hen do ever. It’s Nancy, Frankie [Helen Pearson], Esther [Jazmine Franks], Maxine [Nikki Sanderson] and Phoebe at the pub. Robbie turns up and asks to talk to Nancy outside in the car park where he tries to kiss her and ends up getting a hard slap on the face. He goes and then someone comes at Nancy from behind.”

What happens?

“The person forces her onto the ground, lifts up her skirt and pulls down her knickers. Then Phoebe appears. She hears the commotion and calls out which stops the attacker, who then runs off. Neither Nancy or Phoebe see who it is, but Nancy realises she was within seconds of being raped.”

And?

“Phoebe [Mandip Gill] takes Nancy to the police station. Nancy wants to provide DNA so that this person is caught. Phoebe calls Darren, who wonders if they should cancel the wedding, but Nancy doesn’t want to. She won’t let this person ruin her life.”

Does she have any idea who it might be?

“She very quickly jumps to the wrong conclusion.”

Is the wedding ruined?

“No, It’s very sweet. You see why Darren and Nancy are together. However, Nancy is still bruised from her attack, tired and stressed out.”

What are their chances of happiness?

“Slim to none, which is a shame.”

Will Darren survive after collapsing from a heart attack?

Hollyoaks star Ashley Taylor Dawson has revealed that his character Darren Osborne will have to work hard to get back in estranged wife Nancy's good books.

The 31-year-old actor, who plays Darren in the Channel 4 soap, admitted that he's not sure if the couple will rekindle their relationship, after their lives were ruined by mentally unstable nanny Sienna Blake (Anna Passey).

"For Nancy to forgive Darren so quickly would be unrealistic. There's that saying about forgiving but not forgetting, and there's just so much that's gone on between them," he told Inside Soap.

"How much can Nancy really forgive Darren, and how much can she forget? That's the question."

Nancy, played by Jessica Fox, was committed to a mental institute after Sienna framed her for trying to kill her baby son, Oscar, and making it appear as if she was addicted to painkillers. Sienna also faked a pregnancy in an attempt to get closer to Darren.

He continued: "Having said that, they've got all that history and they really are trying their best to make it work. So I think it's going to take a lot more than Sienna Blake to keep these two apart."

Ashley, who competed in BBC's Strictly Come Dancing, teased that there's drama ahead when Sienna escapes from her psychiatric facility.

"First things first, they have to make sure their children are safe. They go into panic mode and decide to run away from the village," he said.

"Nancy grabs the kids, Darren packs up their stuff and they arrange to meet at the folly. But when Darren arrives there, something happens. I'm not allowed to say what, but it's a big shock - let's just put it that way!"

Hollyoaks’ Ashley Taylor Dawson tells Soaplife that Darren wants Nancy back - and she wants him, too. But then he finds out she slept with Joe… Uh-oh!

So, Darren regrets dumping Nancy now?

“Don’t forget Nancy had a drugs problem and almost drove a car off the top of a building with the children inside, so he had every right to think she’d lost the plot. But now she’s back, she looks different, she’s calmer - she’s the old Nancy, the one he fell in love with and he realises that, yes, he’s probably made a mistake.”

About time, too! What does he do?

“Firstly, he gives Nancy joint custody of the children and tries to help her out. She has nowhere and Darren offers her his flat where she can set up on her own. He’s trying to do the right thing by her.”

And he wants her back…

“He does. They have this day out and Darren starts talking about their wedding day as the happiest day of his life. They go to the Folly and find the brick they carved their initials into. You can see that they’re definitely still in love with each other. Darren apologises for the way he’s been and asks Nancy if there’s any chance of them getting back together.”

What does Nancy say?

“Unfortunately, the moment is broken by Sienna who turns up and starts throwing things around.”

Is that it then?

“Darren asks Nancy again in the pub and she tells him ‘no’. Then she admits she has slept with someone else and Darren is shocked that she’s moved on so quickly. He’s getting a taste of his own medicine.”

How does he find out it was Joe?

“Sienna figures it out and drops some big hints to Darren. He’s really angry. He gets on with Joe better than any of the other Roscoe brothers, he has even talked to Joe about Nancy and Joe has given him advice. As soon as he realises it is Joe it’s like a red rag to the bull.”

Does he have any suspicions Sienna is up to no good?

“He has no idea she has Tom captive. All he knows is that she’s not answering her phone and is never around. He doesn’t know why and even wonders if she might be having an affair. He’s not best pleased with Sienna at the moment and is feeling trapped. There’s a lot more drama to come…”

Darren accepts a video call from Cindy on his laptop. He rushes round to see her when he notes how depressed she is. However, he's left the video chat on and when a drunken Cindy leans in to kiss him, Nancy sees everything...

Cindy decides she and Holly need a clean break and packs up their things. It's an end of an era as Cindy moves out of Tony's flat, nervous about the new chapter in her life.

Dirk and Dodger are outraged when they spot Will being loaded into a mini bus to take him to his new home. Texas pleads with Will to reconsider and shows him exactly how much she cares with a kiss... Will is put out when Texas doesn't tell Dodger about them - she has no intention of going public with their relationship. After some words of wisdom from Doug, Will also agrees that it might work in his favor to keep Tex to himself for a while...

Doug spills cooking oil on the deli floor and before he can clear it up he slips and knocks himself out as smoke starts to billow from the oven. John Paul rushes to his rescue - his knight in shining armour, but Ste is jealous of the budding friendship.
