Sienna pulls her maddest stunt yet to ensure she, Nico and Dodger enjoy the 'perfect' family Christmas, reveals Hollyoaks’ Anna Passey…

Sienna’s about to get the Christmas she dreams of: there are mince pies, sparkly lights and, most importantly, her daughter, Nico, and her brother, Dodger, are in attendance. There’s just one small problem: poor Dodger (Danny Mac) is handcuffed to a radiator and is only enjoying festive 'fun' with his twin because she’s got him locked up in the basement of her mum’s old house.

“It’s completely bonkers,” laughs Anna. "But Sienna’s not really aware of what she’s doing. She thinks everything is wonderful. It’s quite haunting and creepy.”

Dodger isn’t being a doting dad to Nico… Has this upset Sienna?

“She really can’t understand why he isn’t stepping up and being a father to Nico [Persephone Swales-Dawson]. She’s besotted with Dodger, he loves her and they have this brilliant child. She can’t understand why that wouldn’t work as a family unit. She believes it would all be perfect if only he’d play ball.”

How does she try and change his mind?

“She thinks if she gets Dodger and Maxine [Nikki Sanderson] apart, he’ll have more time for Nico. Firstly, she suggests to Nico that Dodger is cheating on Maxine, knowing Nico will confront him and she kidnaps Minnie and gives her to Patrick. Obviously, neither strategy works!”

Why doesn’t she tell Nico who her real dad is?

“She doesn’t want Nico to know her uncle is her father. But, on the other hand, Nico doesn’t understand why Dodger doesn’t want anything to do with her any more. It all gets really complicated because Dodger knows he’s the father, so do Sienna and Patrick [Jeremy Sheffield], and they’re all trying to keep it a secret.”

Does Nico work out the truth?

“She does some detective work and finds a Christmas card. There’s something in it that makes her think Patrick is her father. Poor Nico finds it all too much and tells Sienna she wants to go back into care.”

Is that when Sienna snaps?

“Yes, she believes she’s about to lose her daughter and Dodger. When Dodger turns round and tells Sienna he’ll never be a dad to Nico, she’s desperate to bring them together… so she hits him over the head with a spanner and drags him down into the basement.”

What does Nico make of that?

“Nico’s in on it at first. She’s pleased because at least now she can have some answers, but she does see something has gone terribly wrong with her mum.”

Does Sienna try and pretend it’s a normal Christmas?

“Yes, she’s singing carols, decking the tree and feeding everyone mince pies. It’s as if they’re in this mini snow globe. Nobody else in soap will be having a Christmas quite like Sienna’s.”

Is it going to end badly?

“Well, I can’t see a happy ending!”

Danny Mac is quitting the role of Mark 'Dodger' Savage, Hollyoaks' most handsome villager.

According to Digital Spy, the 26-year-old actor will depart the village early next year.

As ever, Hollyoaks producers say Dodger will exit the soap in an explosive storyline.

He's about to discover he's the father of Nico... his sister's daughter! But Dodger's also been deeply involved with Maxine Minniver and Theresa McQueen in recent times and his final storyline will centre around the choice he has to make and the consequences.

Danny joined Hollyoaks in 2011 and has regularly scooped the Sexiest Male title at soap awards ceremonies.

Hollyoaks star Danny Mac says his bizarre, tangled relationships are quite easy to play because he's as confused about who he's seeing as his character Dodger!

Danny plays Mark 'Dodger' Savage in the Channel 4 soap, who's in love with his father's wife, Maxine (Nikki Sanderson), while also involved in a relationship with Theresa McQueen and about to find out he's the father of Nico, who just happens to be the daughter of his sister Sienna Blake!

Danny told What's on TV: "There are episodes I literally flick through, we're filming out of sequence and... there's a block of five eps, he sees all three girls about four times in each episode!

"'Which one is that and where's he just come from?' It's literally spinning me out. It's making it quite easy to play, the confusion is with me as much as it is with Dodger!"

Danny said he's equally repelled and fascinated by the Nico storyline. "Everyone's waiting for the day that Dodger finds out he is the father of Nico and it's not to far away, that's for sure. Urgh!" he said.

"It's horrible and crazy and bizarre, but I've sort of grown really fond of it. But it's a great storyline to get given, it's a big challenge... to make it real and to justify it. It's been crazy, it's really weird, but it is Hollyoaks!"

There's a romantic surprise in store for Dodger when girlfriend Maxine pops the question!

Hollyoaks star Danny Mac has said he couldn’t believe it when he discovered his character Dodger Savage had fathered a baby with his own twin.

The Channel 4 soap made the shock revelation that twins Sienna Blake (Anna Passey) and Dodger had had a one-night stand before they were introduced as siblings and didn’t recognise each other when they eventually met up as long lost family, years before they were reunited with daughter Nico (Persephone Swales-Dawson).

“It’s brave, it’s crazy and it’s weird. It’s all the things Hollyoaks is able to do and get away with. I had no idea this was on the cards,” says Danny.

“In terms of my character, it changes people’s perception of him. Sienna having Dodger’s baby is every kind of wrong you can think of.”

The actor added fans of the soap were equally confused…

“A lot of people just can’t believe it. Some of them are upset that Hollyoaks has done this to Dodger, while others love it and say it’s a massive plot twist they never saw coming.

“Then there are some who still believe that Sienna’s dad, Patrick [Jeremy Sheffield], is really Nico’s father. There’s been such a massive range of reactions from people, which is brilliant.”

Hollyoaks continues on C4 on Monday, September 22, 6.30pm.

Hollyoaks headteacher Patrick Blake is finally set to be arrested for domestic violence.

Patrick's son Dodger Savage (Danny Mac) reports him to the the police for his year-long psychological and physical abuse of Maxine Minniver (Nikki Sanderson).

Maxine - who is pregnant with Dodger's baby - tried to expose Patrick (Jeremy Sheffield) as she left him on their wedding day, but decided not to report him to the authorities.

But when Dodger and Patrick both attend Maxine's latest baby scan together, tensions flare up and Dodger decides to expose his dad to the cops.

It's not known if Patrick - who is currently holding his daughter Sienna (Anna Passey) prisoner in the boiler room at Hollyoaks High - will actually be charged.

The scenes will screen on Hollyoaks on Channel 4 next week.

So why is Dodger accused of attacking Holly?

“Cindy works out that Holly slept with Dodger and when she asks Holly if she gave consent, she doesn’t answer. Cindy assumes that Dodger attacked her daughter and decides to go to the police. It’s really serious - this could ruin his life.”

Does he feel guilty about sleeping with Holly?

“It was a silly mistake and shouldn’t have happened. He’s 27 and Holly’s 16. But she is legal and she consented so he didn’t actually do anything wrong.”

Is he worried about what people will think?

“Yes. He doesn’t want Maxine to think the worst and there’s the fact that he has always been a bit of a ladies’ man, so people might think he is capable of something like that.”

Talking about Maxine, how does Dodger feel about her?

“He’s really keen on her, but he thinks he can never have her. She’s with Patrick and he doesn’t know what Patrick is really like. Now that she’s pregnant, it means she’s even further out of his reach.”

But he’s there for her as she waits to hear if her baby has Down’s Syndrome…

“Yes, he offers Maxine his support… Especially as he realises that Patrick is not all he seems when he makes it known that it would be a problem for him if there were something wrong with the baby. That wouldn’t bother Dodger. He would love that child as his own because he has such strong feelings for Maxine. He’d be a great dad.”

Why can’t he be attracted to a woman without baggage?

“I don’t think they exist in Hollyoaks. But as far as he sees it, Maxine is the perfect choice. Maxine is kind, intelligent and beautiful. He’s hoping that if he hangs around for long enough, she’ll realise that he’s the man for her.”

What’s in store for Dodger?

“A lot more drama and upset. But I’m enjoying it and at least I can go home at night and be thankful that I’m not really Dodger.”

Hollyoaks hunk Danny Mac tells Soaplife that Dodger tries to put the nightmare of his killer brother Will behind him… but he gets another huge shock!

Dodger tries to move on by having a one-night stand. Who with?

"I can’t tell you, but I don't think viewers will be surprised. He tries to move on by sleeping with an old flame, but it only helps for 10 minutes. He ends up hurting the woman and that causes him pain because he's not a bad guy."

Then he finds out Sienna is faking her pregnancy…

"The alarm goes off at Anna's house and a neighbour calls Dodger. He goes over there and is shocked to see Sienna. Then he notices her fake baby bump on a chair and realises she's not having a baby."

And?

"He’s disgusted and disappointed. Sienna tries to explain why she’s faking it and Dodger storms off."

Will Dodger tell Darren the truth?

"He doesn’t think it’s his place to tell Darren. He thinks Sienna should do it."

He's in for another shock when he gets an email, supposedly from Texas…

“Seeing her name come up on the screen brings up lots of emotions, but of course, he knows it's not her. He tries to work out who has done it and the first person who comes to mind is Will. Nobody else would need or want to do that to him."

Is there any light at the end of the tunnel for Dodger?

"I have no idea, but at the moment I think he needs a holiday!"

Danny Mac reveals to Soaplife that Dodger’s in big trouble when the Roscoe boys catch him with their mum in Hollyoaks!

It’s been a while since Dodger got his top off, but now he’s back in Hollyoaks and ready to enjoy a steamy affair with Sandy Roscoe - who is more than 20 years his senior! "Dodger has always been keen to date the older women plus Sandy helps to take his mind off Texas," says Danny.

So is this new affair why we see Dodger running around Hollyoaks half-dressed?

"Yes. He’s been caught by the boys sleeping with Sandy and ends up getting chased all round the village topless, which is standard for Dodger, or at least it used to be before he got really sad. The director had us running everywhere and we were knackered by the end of it."

What attracted him to Sandy?

"She’s an attractive older woman who has a lot going for her. Also, she doesn’t need Dodger and she isn’t going to put a lot of pressure on him. He’s come back feeling a bit chirpy and he’s looking for a bit of fun."

How does Dodger feel about Sandy’s sons?

"I think he enjoys winding them up over Sandy. He plays it really cool and likes the fact that he has the upper hand, but they have a surprise in store for him."

What do they do?

"They bundle him into the back of a van, tied up and blindfolded, and tell him they’ve put him at the top of a cliff. He’s terrified. He doesn’t know them well enough to work out whether or not they’re telling the truth, so he has to play it safe."

Is Dodger ready to find love again?

"I don’t think so. Not so soon after Texas. Also, he has grown up and I don’t see him going back to the man who liked to flirt with all the girls. I think when you have loved and lost like Dodger has, you build up a wall and don’t trust women. That’s what can turn boys into love rats…"

And he’s still mourning Texas, isn’t he?

"Absolutely. He’s still cut up about what happened and is knocked for six when he finds out that his mum has admitted to killing her. He doesn’t believe it, but with her history he knows it could be true. The hardest thing for Dodger is the fact that Texas wasn’t his when she died."

So he doesn’t suspect Will?

"Why would he? Dodger’s ready to talk to Will and build bridges and doesn’t for a minute think he caused Texas’s death."
