If you subscribe to ESPN Plus, you're about to find that not much is going to change... for you. However ESPN's streaming offerings are changing massively at the end of August which may lead to some confusion.

The headline change is that ESPN is launching a new streaming service. What's it called? No idea, but press materials suggest that it could, confusingly, be called simply 'ESPN'.

This new service is set to launch on Thursday, August 21, and a subscription will cost $29.99 per month or $299.99 per year. That's almost triple the price of the existing subscription but there's a cheaper tier which costs $11.99 per month and offers what ESPN Plus currently does... so in other words, this basic plan is a continuation of ESPN Plus, and existing subscribers will be rolled over to it with basically no change. Hence my first sentence.

But what about the expensive tier, which ESPN is called the Unlimited Plan? Well, that's where the sports broadcaster's new online offerings begin to shine.

The Unlimited Plan's core selling point is that it lets you stream sports that are airing on ESPN's cable channels, a list quite a lot more expansive than what ESPN Plus gets. This includes things from ESPN, ESPNU, ESPNNews and various other channels. The broadcaster predicts that this offering includes 47,000 live events each year (ESPN Plus' stat is at 32,000).

This is the first time that you've been able to stream ESPN's cable channels over the air from one service (various live TV streaming services have certain ESPN channels, but not the ESPN Plus catalog too).

While the expanded live sports offering is obviously a big draw of this new-and-improved ESPN platform, it'll also include all of the broadcaster's studio shows and its large library. Plus, many WWE Premium Live Events will be available on the platform including WrestleMania in 2026.

To coincide with the change, the ESPN Plus app will see some big upgrades. and these will come to existing subscribers too. Multiview will see some improvements (what are they? ESPN hasn't said), odds information for betting and the ability to play fantasy sports.

While these are the only two tiers, you can pay a little bit more because both will be available via bundles. The standard ESPN Plus tier will continue to be on the Disney Bundle and the higher tier will also come in two bundles: one with ad-supported Disney Plus and Hulu for $35.99 per month, and another that drops the ads on those two streamers for $44.99. An introductory offer will reduce the former tier to $29.99 per month for your first year.

So this is a big change for sports streaming fans, and the first in a while after several combo streamers were announced but then fell apart (looking at you, Venu Sports). But if you're already on ESPN Plus and like it just fine, then nothing's changing for you.

The sixth race of the F1 2025 season is upon us, and that's important for US-based fans of the racing league, because it gives ESPN Plus a time to shine.

ESPN Plus is a name that crops up when researching how to stream all of the F1 2025 races, but before you sign up, it's always worth doing some research to work out exactly what you'll get with that subscription.

That's because, while it's one of the best streaming services for F1 fans, ESPN Plus will only be showing certain races, though it'll be offering extra features to subscribers for other events too.

That's a bit cryptic, isn't it! I'll explain more in this guide detailing everything you need to know about streaming F1 2025 races on ESPN Plus.

What is ESPN Plus?

For those of you who don't know, ESPN Plus is the streaming service of broadcaster ESPN, which is owned by Disney.

It lets you live stream plenty of live games and also hosts plenty of factual shows, including the acclaimed 30 for 30 and other ESPN shows. You can watch ESPN Plus on your TV, iPhone, Android, Roku, Amazon Fire TV or on other smart devices.

A subscription to ESPN Plus costs $11.99 per month or $119.99 per year, but there are ways to save including the occasional ESPN Plus deal, and the Disney Bundle which combines multiple streaming services for an overall discount.

Can you stream live F1 races on ESPN Plus?

Now to business: can you live stream F1 races on ESPN Plus? You can, but not all of them.

ESPN Plus is set to offer live streams of a select few F1 races, and these are all set to be the ones that show on the ABC channel, not ESPN.

Here's the list of ABC-broadcast Formula 1 races according to ESPN:

1. Sunday, May 4 — Miami Grand Prix
2. Sunday, May 25 — Grand Prix de Monaco
3. Sunday, June 15 — Grand Prix du Canada
4. Sunday, October 19 — United States Grand Prix
5. Sunday, October 26 — Grand Premio de la Ciudad de Mexico

That's only five races that your ESPN Plus subscription will let you live stream. However there are other perks to signing up.

What will ESPN Plus show during other F1 races?

ESPN Plus won't exactly crash when other races are going on, and there are still some extras you'll get for subscribing.

Firstly, lots of practice races, qualifiers and talk shows about each Grand Prix will stream on ESPN Plus, but that's not all.

For every single race (ESPN Plus-aired on not), the app will host two useful extra features.

For one, you'll be able to watch live streams from in-vehicle cameras, to see the race for a whole new angle. The other useful feature is track stats, so you can see how racers are faring and where they are on a map of the track. So these two features could help an ESPN Plus-subscribed F1 fan get a lot more out of the racing experience.

I should also point out, for Formula 2 races, that all F2 2025 races will be on ESPN Plus.

How else can you watch F1 races?

If you were hoping that ESPN Plus would be a one-stop shop for streaming all of the F1 2025 races, I'm sorry to disappoint you.

Instead, the races are airing on ESPN cable channels. Of the 24, five will air on ABC (and also be on ESPN Plus). Of the remaining 19, 11 will be on ESPN and 8 will be on ESPN2.

Streaming fans can cut the cord and use a live TV streaming service to watch from these channels. The cheapest option is Sling TV Orange but Hulu with Live TV, Fubo and DirecTV will also let you see them.

The same networks and platforms that brought the NFL to viewers in the regular season are going to be the ones you need to watch the NFL playoffs: ABC, CBS, ESPN, Fox and NBC.

All of those networks are going to have games over Divisional round. ABC/ESPN have the Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs, Fox has the Washington Commanders vs Detroit Lions, NBC is airing the Los Angeles Rams vs Philadelphia Eagles, and CBS closes it out with Baltimore Ravens vs Buffalo Bills.

ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC are nationally available broadcast TV networks available to anyone with a traditional pay-TV provider or a TV antenna. If you’ve made the move to live TV streaming services, all four networks are available on Fubo, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV, while Sling TV offers Fox, NBC and ABC (in select markets).

ESPN, meanwhile, is a cable channel available through traditional pay-TV providers and live TV streaming services (all of Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV).

There will also be streaming options for most of the playoff games. Those that air on CBS are going to stream simultaneously on Paramount Plus for all scribers, games on NBC will stream on Peacock and ESPN Plus will have the games that air on ABC/ESPN.

One playoff game on Wild Card Weekend, Pittsburgh Steelers vs Baltimore Ravens, is streaming exclusively on Prime Video, meaning that in almost all circumstances you will need a Prime Video subscription to watch. I saw “almost all” because if you live in the Pittsburgh or Baltimore TV region then the game will air on local TV channels. For all others not living in those areas, the game will only be available on Prime Video.

There is one final streaming option that will allow you to watch all of Wild Card Weekend playoff games in one place, NFL Plus. But it comes with a catch — all games can only be watched on a mobile device.

How to watch 2025 NFL playoffs in the UK

You can watch the NFL playoffs in the UK through a couple of different options.

One is NFL Game Pass through DAZN. This subscription option will have all of the Wild Card Weekend games. As an FYI, if you’re not able to watch this week’s games but want to catch up for any of the upcoming rounds, DAZN is reducing the price for NFL Game Pass each week of the playoffs by £5.

DAZN has a standard Season Pro and an Ultimate plan, and the latter costs £5 more. It gets you the ability to watch multiple games at once, more devices to watch on simultaneously and the ability to tap into alternate feeds of games for different commentators.

All games are also going to be shown on Sky Sports TV. In order to watch the game you must have a Sky Sports subscription, which is available through a Sky TV package.

You’ve seen the PGA Tour and LIV Golf, but starting Tuesday, January 7, there’s a new golf league for fans to enjoy, the TGL. Backed by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, the TGL begins its inaugural season tonight, airing at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT on ESPN and streaming on ESPN Plus.

Featuring many of golf’s best players, the TGL is a new type of golf league, featuring a unique match-play format and teams, all taking place in a state-of-the-art indoor arena that combines a simulator and an adjustable green. Matches will air on Mondays and Tuesdays during primetime over the next few months.

This first match airing on January 7 will feature the New York Golf Club, featuring Matt Fitzpatrick, Rickie Fowler and Xander Schauffele, going up against The Bay Golf Club, represented by Ludvig Åberg, Wyndham Clark and Shane Lowry. Scott Van Pelt, Matt Barrie and Marty Smith are serving as the ESPN telecast team for the inaugural season.

In TGL, each match will feature two teams of three players in a 15-hole match that includes nine holes of "Triples" (three vs three alternate shot) and six holes of Singles (head-to-head play). The team with the fewest shots to complete a hole earns their team one point, if the teams tie then zero points are awarded; there are no carryover points. The team with the most points at the end of the 15 holes wins. If the match is tied after 15 holes, the match will be settled with a three vs three closest to the pin challenge.

Another thing to know about the TGL format is that there is a shot clock, forcing teams to hit within 40 seconds (designed to have the match completed in two hours). The broadcast will also feature unprecedented audio access with all players mic’d; advanced shot data; a production plan featuring robotic and embedded cameras throughout the field of play; and a high-tech, in-venue lighting and video presentation.

The TGL features 24 of the best golfers in the world divided into six teams of four. In addition to the New York Golf Club (Fitzpatrick, Fowler, Schauffele and Cameron Young) and The Bay Golf Club (Åberg, Clark, Lowry and Min Woo Lee), the teams include Atlanta Drive GC (Patrick Cantlay, Lucas Glover, Billy Horschel, Justin), Boston Common Golf (Keegan Bradley, Hideki Matsuyama, Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott), Jupiter Links Golf Club (Max Homa, Tom Kim, Kevin Kisner, Tiger Woods) and Los Angeles Golf Club (Tommy Fleetwood, Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose, Sahith Theegala).

To watch the inaugural TGL match on January 7, you must have access to ESPN or ESPN Plus. The cable channel is available through traditional pay-TV providers or live TV streaming services like Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV. Is there an ESPN Plus bundle right now?

Here's where this article gets a bit more useful; there are a fair few ESPN Plus bundles that'll help you save money compared to buying services individually.

The first one that I should briefly touch on is the ESPN Plus annual plan; costing you $119.99 for a year, it roughly costs you the same as ten months of a subscription, giving you an extra two for free.

Next we get to the Disney Bundle; this combines Disney Plus, Hulu and, on its higher tiers, ESPN Plus too. For sports you'll want Trio Basic, costing $16.99 per month, or Trio Premium, for $26.99 per month, which lets you stream from Disney Plus and Hulu without ads.

For context the ad-enabled tiers of the three plans would usually cost you $31.97, so you're saving a lot of money. If you already subscribe to Disney or Hulu, or are considering doing so, this is a good money-saver.

Another option which is coming up in the future is Venu Sports. This streaming service, which is set to cost $42.99 monthly, is set to combine ESPN Plus with all sports broadcast by Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery.

Venu Sports hasn't launched yet and we don't quite know when it will, but we expect it to very soon. When it comes, we'll have more information on what it'll actually show.

If you're currently an ESPN Plus subscriber, you're able to upgrade to the Disney Bundle with ease. Hopefully that'll also be the case with Venu Sports but we'll have to wait to see.

Jason Kelce played 13 seasons in the NFL, all for the Philadelphia Eagles. He is a Super Bowl winner and All-Pro center who is all but bound for the NFL Hall of Fame. He retired in 2024 and has since made the transition to being a media star.

Even before his playing career ended, he began The New Heights podcast with his brother Travis Kelce (currently playing for the Kansas City Chiefs), which is one of the most popular podcasts currently streaming. After he retired he joined ESPN as an analyst on Monday Night Football. Kelce was also the subject of a hit documentary, simply titled Kelce, on Prime Video, which you should watch, even if you’re not an Eagles fan.

If you’re curious about the name, it is derived from the first full-length NFL Films project, They Call It Pro Football, from 1967. NFL Films is one of the producing partners for They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce.

But is there any way for football fans not subscribed to ESPN Plus to watch the game?

The good news is if you live in Los Angeles or Arizona, then yes. There is going to be an alternative viewing option that won’t require you to sign up for another monthly streaming subscription. For those outside Southern California and Arizona, there is actually another option besides ESPN Plus, but it will cost you some money and has a small catch.

The one catch is that you can only do so on your mobile devices (phone, tablet).

So though the game is being billed as “exclusive” to ESPN Plus, there are other options to watch Chargers vs Cardinals on October 21. However, if you decide that ESPN Plus is the best way for you to watch the game and you want to sign up for the streaming service, there are a couple of different ways to go about it. The Chargers vs Cardinals week 7 Monday Night Football game is one of two Monday Night Football games this week. Once the only sports streaming service of note, its now got some competitors nipping at its heels in the form of DAZN, Fite TV and Apple TV Plus. This is without mentioning MLS which has become increasingly more popular alongside major streamers which have also dipped their toes into this world led by Peacock and Prime Video. Both of these big streamers have been making advances in sports content and - as a response - ESPN partially operated Venu Sports will be wading in too.

This recent competition might be reflected in the price increase ESPN Plus has inflicted on its subscribers who will have noticed an extra bump in monthly bills. It's always worth checking in on the ESPN Plus Black Friday deal to save you some money, worth bearing in mind for the next time this rolls around. Alongside this, the new pricing information below and other features, we update this article regularly to reflect this streamer's changes.

Final thing to reflect on before getting stuck into the nitty gritty of this article: ESPN Plus is more affordable if you get it as part of the Disney Bundle. FYI, ESPN Plus does not offer a free trial at this time.

How to watch the NHL on ESPN

ESPN is one of the most popular cable sports networks in the US and as such is available on just about every traditional cable provider subscription (though never hurts to double check). ESPN is also available on live TV streaming platforms like Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV.

If you subscribe to either a traditional of live TV streaming service, then you can also use that login information to watch NHL games through ESPN.com or the Watch ESPN app.

There are no NHL games airing on ESPN/ESPN 2 this week, November 11-17, but most games are going to be available to stream on ESPN Plus throughout the week, while ESPN Plus/Hulu has two marquee games: Devils vs Panthers at 7:30 pm ET/4:30 pm PT on November 12 and St. Louis Blues vs Buffalo Sabres at 7:30 pm ET/4:30 pm PT on November 14.

ESPN Plus is also slated to host a number of games throughout the week.

What you need to know about the NHL on ESPN Plus

In addition to exclusive national NHL games on ESPN Plus, the streaming service offers more than 1,000 live out-of-market games for its subscribers. Called NHL Power Play on ESPN Plus, this provides 1,050 games throughout the NHL season, with fans able to choose between the home team or away team's broadcast.

In addition, ESPN Plus features replays of every NHL regular season and playoff game through NHL Power Play on ESPN Plus.

ESPN Plus has been around for a few years now, offering original sports programming as well as exclusive coverage of live sporting events, including college football, college basketball, the PGA Tour, UFC fights and even, prior to this year, some out-of-market NHL games. The streaming service’s investment in hockey has increased exponentially though.

Watch the rise and fall of a real-life NFL star in American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez, a new sporting TV series that premieres on Tuesday, September 17.

Aaron Hernandez will look at the NFL player of the same name, a tight end for the New England Patriots. His career was called short when he was charged for murder, with more possible crimes to his name too. Josh Rivera plays the lead role as Hernandez.

Created by TV legend Ryan Murphy (of American Horror Story, Dahmer and Grotesquerie fame), American Sports Story is a new anthology TV drama looking to depict real-life dramas stemming from the sporting world. Aaron Hernandez's story is the first but probably not the last.

How to watch American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez in the US

People living in the US can watch American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez in two separate ways.

Firstly is on cable, with the show playing on FX. The first episode will air on Tuesday, September 17 at 10 pm ET/PT and each new episode will play at the same time weekly.

If you don't currently have FX as part of your cable plan, several live TV streaming services offer the channel including Sling TV, FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV.

Your other option is via cable, with each episode of Aaron Hernandez playing on the streaming service Hulu one day after it plays on FX. 

Hulu costs $7.99 per month for its ad-supported tier or $17.99 for its ad-free one, but those are its standalone prices. Can you watch American Sports Story: Aaron Hernandez in the UK

While many FX and Hulu shows end up airing on Disney Plus in the UK, that's not necessarily going to be the case for American Sports Story.

That's because no streaming option has been announced for the show in the UK just yet, even though many other FX shows do have Disney Plus dates announced. This isn't totally unexpected as sports-related shows are often the ones that don't make the journey over the Atlantic.

What makes this inconvenient is that, until Friday, September 27, there's a limited-time deal on Disney Plus. If you sign up before then, you can get the ad-enabled tier for £1.99 per month (£4.99 normally) for three months. But since we don't know if American Sports Story will play on the platform, it's impossible to say if this deal will prove useful or not.

We'll update this article if American Sports Story gets confirmed for Disney Plus, or any other streaming platform.

As in the UK, there's not been any announced streaming option for American Sports Story in Australia, so you might have trouble watching it.

There is also a trio of special awards that announce their honorees ahead of the ceremony. "What if I told you…" Those five words are enough to get a lot of people's attention as they famously were used in the early promotions for ESPN's series of 30 for 30 sports documentaries that began in 2009. While the sports broadcaster is still adding to the 30 for 30 library, many still hold the early entries as the pinnacle of the series. While all 30 for 30 docs are available on ESPN Plus, Netflix also has a number available for their subscribers. In fact they've just added one on June 17 that may be my all-time favorite sports documentary: June 17, 1994.

If you're not aware of the significance of that day 30 years ago, let me give you a quick rundown of what was one of the most hectic and historic days in sports history. That day saw the commencement of the 1994 World Cup, the first to be hosted by the US; the New York Rangers celebrated their 1994 Stanley Cup win, the team's first in more than 50 years; golf legend Arnold Palmer played his final round at the US Open; baseball phenom Ken Griffey Jr. tied Babe Ruth's record for most home runs in a season before June 30 (30); and game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Houston Rockets and New York Knicks was played. 

But everything would take a back seat to the series of events that unfolded around OJ Simpson on that day, as he failed to turn himself in to police after being named a suspect in the murder of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman and then later became involved in a police chase that took the country by storm and pushed everything that happened in the world of sports to the side.

What makes the documentary, directed by Oscar-nominee Brett Morgen (Moonage Daydream), so spectacular and unique is that it chronicles the day through actual footage, using no voiceover or set interviews. We simply see the day play out in chronological order with the actual footage of all these events, and how bit by bit the OJ story would overtake everything (famously, NBC opted to cut away or use a picture-in-picture feature for the NBA Finals to track the OJ police chase). It's a brilliant choice that not only lets viewers understand how the events of the day unfolded, but also how this day was something of a turning point for the media and the country as a whole.

The documentary does not get into the rest of what happened with the OJ case — his trial and ultimate acquittal on the murder charges — but that story has been told brilliantly in other series, including the Oscar-winning documentary, OJ: Made in America, and the Emmy-winning TV drama American Crime Story: The People vs OJ Simpson. Of course, OJ Simpson passed away earlier this year at the age of 76.

While June 17, 1994 is a personal favorite from the 30 for 30 slate, Netflix has many other docs from the series available to watch right now, including Lance, I Hate Christian Laettner, The Fab Five, Deion's Double Play, Survive and Advance, Nature Boy, Four Falls of Buffalo and more.

It all comes down to this, as the pivotal Stanley Cup Finals game 7 takes place on Monday, June 24, between the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers. Unfortunately, there is no free trial for ESPN Plus at this time, so as far as cost your options, there is a monthly subscription that runs $10.99 per month or a year-long commitment that costs $109.99, which does represent about a 17% savings on what a monthly subscription would cost. That is if you opt to sign up for ESPN Plus as a standalone service, but there are options to combine it with other services as well. 

You can bundle it with the Disney Plus and Hulu streaming services (known as the Disney Bundle) for $14.99 per month to get the streaming services with ads or $24.99 per month for no ads; both plans save more than 40% from paying for the streaming services separately, according to Disney.

You also automatically get ESPN Plus if you sign up for Hulu with Live TV. But with that you don't need to worry about having ESPN Plus as Hulu with Live TV carries ESPN and ABC, so you could just watch the games on those channels.

Once you have signed up for the service, it is relatively easy to start watching. When the games are live (or just about to start), they should appear on the ESPN Plus homepage for easy access. You can also search for the game if needed.

ESPN Plus works on a range of devices, including smart TVs, smartphones, tablets and computers.

It's time for the final spin. After 41 years of hosting the nightly edition of Wheel of Fortune (he actually started with the daytime version of the show two years earlier), the long-time host's final episode shepherding the popular game show is airing on Friday, June 7.

Fans have had some time to prepare for this, as Sajak announced in June 2023 that he would be stepping down as host. Replacing Sajak is going to be American Idol host Ryan Seacrest, but fans of the show will likely be happy to know that Vanna White is going to remain on Wheel of Fortune for the foreseeable future.

Ahead of the final episode, a video clip was released of Sajak wishing audiences goodbye and speaking on what the game show meant to him.

"It's been an incredible privilege to be invited into millions of homes, night after night, decade after decade," Sajak said in the clip. "And I always felt that the privilege came with the responsibility to keep this daily half-hour a safe place for family fun. No social issues. No politics. Nothing embarrassing, I hope. Just a game. But gradually it became more than that. A place where kids learned their letters. Where people from other countries honed their English skills. Where families came together, along with friends and neighbors and entire generations. What an honor to have played even a small part in all that. Thank you for allowing me into your lives."

Sajak began his career in radio, working as a deejay for Columbia College Chicago and then as a disc jockey for Armed Forces Radio during Vietnam. He'd continue in radio after returning from service before getting his start on TV as a voiceover artist for Nashville's WSM-TV before appearing on camera as an anchor and weatherman. He moved to Los Angeles to become a full-time weatherman in 1977 and after a few others had their try at hosting Wheel of Fortune, Sajak took over things first on the daytime edition in 1981 and then on the nightly edition starting in 1983. During his tenure Sajak has won three Daytime Emmys for Outstanding Game Show Host and has become ingrained in US TV culture, much like his former contemporary, Alex Trebek was on Jeopardy!

As for what's next for Sajak, Variety reports that he is going to appear in a theater production of Prescription: Murder, which is based on the old Columbo TV series, in Hawai'i in the summer of 2025.

If you like to stream live sports over the internet, then the announcement of a new sports streaming service should perk your ears. Venu Sports is set to be a nice big player in the market when it launches later this year.

Venu Sports is an aggregate streaming service that combines coverage from two Disney-owned companies, ESPN and Fox, with everything broadcast by Warner Bros. Discovery on its various channels. 

In short, it could soon become your go-to sports streaming service for when you want to live stream a big tournament or individual game, catch a new documentary on your favorite team or check out highlights for a range of events.

Venu Sports potential release date

The Venu Sports release date hasn't been confirmed just yet, but a Warner Bros. Discovery press release places the launch in "the fall of 2024", which roughly points to anywhere from September to November.

We could see Venu Sports launch at the same time as another collaboration between Disney and Warner Bros.: the announced but as-yet-unnamed Disney Plus, Hulu and Max bundle.

That release date suggests Venu Sports will come out just after the busy 2024 summer of sports is over with the likes of the 2024 Olympics, soccer Euros all ending before then.

However Venu Sports could launch in time for the tennis US Open (which begins on August 26 and ends in September) and several PGA Tour fixtures, which also fall in mid to late August, and the ESPN and Fox's coverage of the NFL, college football and MLB playoffs begins in earnest.

Plenty more sports events take place in the latter months of the year, so Venu Sports will likely have some big tournaments straight away.

Unlike the release date, we do know the price for Venu: it'll cost you back a princely $42.99 every month.

As a reminder for how that compares to other services, ESPN Plus (which comes included in Venu) costs $10.99 per month while Max starts at $9.99 per month and goes up to $15.99 or $19.99 for ad-free or higher-resolution videos.

Multiple Venu Sports bundles have already been confirmed: you'll be able to combine a subscription with Disney Plus, Hulu or Max, if you also want to watch non-sports content. No price has been announced for these bundles.

What sports will Venu Sports show?

So far, Venu Sports hasn't announced what it has the rights to, but it could potentially air all sports that Disney or Warner Bros. Discovery currently have the rights to.

Warner Bros. Discovery owns the rights to stream soccer, baseball, basketball and a few other sports, with the likes of MLB and NBA streaming on Max or the media company's various channels.

ESPN airs loads of sports including the NFL's Monday Night Football, Formula 1, tennis Grand Slams, PGA Tour, NHL, NBA and lots of college games. It also hosts loads of documentaries, highlights shows and sports analysis programming. The company has specified that Venu Sports will get both ESPN's cable coverage and ESPN Plus coverage of sports, the latter of which is a little more comprehensive for certain tournaments.

Fox also has loads of sports including regional sports, NFL, NBA and more. It's set to air the next Super Bowl in 2025, so Venu Sports could stream that too, though it's not been confirmed.

Venu Sports technical details

At the moment, Venu Sports hasn't detailed the technical side of its service.

Regarding resolution, it's likely that the streaming service will offer 4K resolution, as both ESPN and Warner Bros. Discovery offer live streams of events in this crystal-clear resolution (though it's worth noting that much of ESPN's 4K broadcasts are upscaled, rather than native 4K).

We also don't know which devices will support Venu Sports but it's likely that most smart TVs, streaming sticks, mobile devices and computers will be able to download the Venu Sports app. That's because these all support ESPN Plus and Max.

We'll also have to wait to find out about any handy features offered by Venu Sports like simultaneous game streams, picture-in-picture, live functions like results or sports betting odds, a feature ESPN currently hosts on its website. 

The second major of the 2024 golf season is here, as the PGA Championship 2024 officially tees off on Thursday, May 16. While we've laid out all the ways to watch the PGA Championship on TV, online and more, a specific way that you can watch both exclusive and live coverage of the tournament is through the ESPN Plus streaming service.

ESPN is splitting coverage duties for the PGA Championship with CBS, with the sports broadcaster offering full coverage for the first two rounds on Thursday and Friday, as well as early morning coverage on Saturday and Sunday. ESPN Plus is a big part of supporting that coverage, but it is going to go above and beyond that as well. Special previews for the PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club are going to stream on Tuesday, May 14, and Wednesday, May 15, and the streamer will also have additional coverage on the weekends even as CBS takes over the primary coverage. In a nutshell, you'll be able to watch a lot of the PGA Championship just with what ESPN Plus offers.

So, if you've cut the cord from traditional TV but are still looking for how you can watch as much of the 2024 PGA Championship as possible, then here is what you need to know about how to get access to ESPN Plus to do just that.

How to watch the PGA Championship on ESPN Plus

ESPN Plus is a subscription-based streaming service, so you must be signed up in order to access it. Also, it is only available for those in the US; sorry golf fans who reside outside of the states.

As far as how to sign up for ESPN Plus, there are a number of options. The first is to sign up for ESPN Plus as a stand-alone service, which costs $10.99 per month or $109.99 when you commit to a full  year upfront; there is no ESPN Plus free trial at this time.

You can also get ESPN Plus with other streaming services. The sports streaming platform is currently included with all Hulu with Live TV subscriptions (starting at $76.99 per month). Another option is to bundle it with Disney Plus and Hulu with what is known as the Disney Bundle, which begins at $12.99 per month.

Once you are signed up for ESPN Plus, then its live PGA Championship coverage should be easy to find on the homepage or by searching for golf on the platform.

Some of the biggest names in sports this year came from an often-overlooked source: women's college basketball. From breaking records throughout the 2023-24 college basketball season to being drafted onto professional teams in the WNBA, elite athletes like Iowa guard Caitlin Clark, South Carolina center Kamilla Cardoso and UCLA guard Kiki Rice became household names this year with their incredible athleticism and courtside charisma. And now those prominent players are the subject of a new ESPN+ Original Series, Full Court Press, premiering this weekend.

Directed by Kristen Lappas and produced in partnership with Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions and Words & Pictures, the four-part series offers a behind-the-scenes look into young stars like Clark, Cardoso, Rice and others as they navigated what was a historic year for women's college basketball, with exclusive interviews, game footage and more.  

"As someone who has grown up a devout fan of the women's game, I am thrilled that we are able to make this show at this pivotal moment in the history of the sport. To be able to pull back the curtain and document Caitlin Clark's historic season has been a privilege for our entire team," Lappas told ESPN. "Each of our three players brings a unique set of storylines to the table, and we hope we're able to capture both the excitement and the complexities surrounding what it means to be an elite female basketball player in 2024."

Fans can tune into Full Court Press this weekend on ABC: episodes 1 and 2 will air back-to-back on Saturday, May 11 beginning at 1pm Eastern, with episodes 3 and 4 to follow on Sunday, May 12 at 12:30pm ET. If you don't have cable, live TV streaming services will enable you to tune into ABC to watch the docuseries as it airs, including Fubo, DirecTV, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV. All four episodes will also be available to stream live on the ESPN app, and will be available to watch on demand on ESPN+ following the initial broadcast.

If you've clocked into All American season 6, then you know the coming-of-age series has once again provided must-see drama for fans. From the continued evolution of #Spelivia to the ongoing feud between Spencer (Daniel Ezra) and Jordan (Michael Evans Behling), the show isn't holding any punches. The storylines have been so entertaining that CW decided to recently extend season 6 by two more episodes, which leaves fans like us with a hope that a yet-to-be-announced season 7 is coming. 

Speaking exclusively with What to Watch, Kareem Grimes, who plays Preach, took a moment to share his thoughts on the new season and shed some light on what fans can look forward to seeing in the upcoming episodes. Not only did he tease a surprising development with Preach, but he also was brave enough to pick a side in the Spencer vs Jordan dilemma.

How does it feel now that All American is finally back on the air after a long hiatus? 

Grimes:  Amazing man, it's a blessing. My story, I was only supposed to do two episodes on All American, and here we are, sixth season. A full 180 of his [Preach] character from where he started. Now he's a father, a single father. Also a teacher now, a full-time teacher now at South Crenshaw. It's just a blessing. I think any actor who gets these opportunities, of course, you're grateful for the work, but to do the work and they appreciate it and they keep you on, it just speaks volumes.

How was it going into this season, officially the first one without Taye Diggs as Billy? 

Grimes: For me, I think coming back season 6 was like taking up where Taye left off. You know, making it fun and comical on set. I do little videos with the castmates. But just kind of like taking on that role, especially for my character being at South Crenshaw, he's a teacher, and just carrying that legacy that he [Digg's Billy Baker] left and Preach kind of taking on that role. 

But yeah, we kind of knew in season 5 and were just like alright, the show must go on. So we were just happy to be back and wanting to fill the void that he left, and make sure that we shouted him out throughout the show, his character, to let him know what his presence has left leaving the show.

As the new season has picked up, there’s a lot going on. Is there a storyline that you think is your favorite so far?

Grimes: [Laughing] We just shot it and I wish I could tell you, but just know it is something I think the audience and everybody will or has experienced in junior high or high school. Everybody has probably experienced it if they've gone through drama class or maybe an arts elective. It's amazing how these writers week in and week out are just able to tap in. Without giving too much away, it's going to be a really good episode. I think you'll be able to see another side of Preach that you haven't seen before, which is probably going to shock a lot of people. But we just shot it, and I think it's episode 11, so you have a while. That so far is probably one of my best, and episode 5. 

We're gearing up for the 100th episode of All American, is there anything you can tease? 

Grimes: [Laughing] Man, I wish I could. All I can tell you is that one of our castmates directed the episode. To be honest, unfortunately, I wasn't in the 100th episode so I really don't know. I’m going to be a fan like everybody else. 

Before I let you go, with Spencer and Jordan feuding, whose side are you on? 

Grimes: It's interesting because they're both in the talks for the Heisman, so now you have that situation. I think what it is for me, I would kind of side with Spencer a little bit because of his circumstances. You know, inner city, wanting to take care of his mom and wanting to do all those things, you want to root for him to be able to go to the league. So he can be able to take care of his mom and his brother. 

Lastly, what are you watching currently outside of All American? 

Grimes: That's good, it's so many shows. I just finished watching The Gentleman on Netflix. I’m a big Guy Ritchie fan. I'm watching Invincible, it's an animation on Prime. It's also really good… Those two come to mind right now.

Since the start of All American season 6, tension has been brewing between Spencer (Daniel Ezra) and Jordan (Michael Evans Behling) on the field. While they’ve tried to prioritize their brotherhood above football, things come to a head in All American season 6 episode 3, "Business Is Business." 

Elsewhere, Olivia (Samantha Logan) gets started on the research for her dad's biography by interviewing someone who knew Billy (Taye Diggs) growing up in Crenshaw — Grace (Karimah Westbrook). Unfortunately, a walk down memory lane takes an awkward detour and leaves both Olivia and Grace with some unprocessed feelings to deal with. 

Here's what happened in All American season 6 episode 3.

Spencer's loss is Jordan's gain

The GAU football team finishes up a game where they've blown out the competition. Spencer asks Jordan why he didn't throw him the ball on a play he would have usually done so in the past. Spencer suspects Jordan is holding onto feelings about him declaring for the draft and not telling Jordan about Olivia's book beforehand. Jordan claims to be fine and that he's just following Mac's (Jamel King) analytics. 

Speaking of Mac, in the locker room, Spencer watches from a distance as he meets with Coach Boone (Mustafa Speaks) and Dr. Gutenberg (Charlie Farrell), the university president. Spencer's suspicions about their meeting prove warranted as the trio winds up announcing Mac is now the new offensive coordinator, a step up from just being an analyst. 

Spencer pulls Coach Boone to the side and says the move is a way to position Mac to take his job. While it's clear Boone is not a fan of Mac's promotion and is aware of the implications, he notes to Spencer that business is business. 

Olivia meets with Grace 

Olivia is a walking ball of nerves when she speaks to Layla (Greta Onieogou) about interviewing Grace for her book. Layla questions if it's a good idea considering the complicated history between Grace and Billy. Olivia says if she's starting with her dad's childhood and teenage years, Grace is a great place to start. Laura (Monet Mazur) has already given her blessing. 

When Olivia sits down with Grace, the two ladies have a good time rehashing Billy's past. Denise (Alexis Fields) even joins them with her dedicated box of Billy memorabilia. Then in an awkward moment, Denise says she didn't think anything would keep Billy and Grace apart back in the day. Not thinking, Liv makes a joke that the affair was proof of that. Quickly realizing her faux pas, Olivia apologizes and immediately exits. 

Alone with Layla, Oliva admits she didn't realize she had unresolved feelings about the affair and probably let the awkward words slip out of her mouth because of her emotions. When Olivia goes back to meet Grace to share her realization, Grace is graceful and understands Olivia's feelings. 

Spencer snaps at practice

Spencer and Coop (Bre-Z) are at the beach house waiting to meet a few agents who want to represent Spencer. While he can't sign with anyone until he officially enters the draft portal, he can start to be proactive. 

One agent leaves a lasting impression when he notes Spencer has received fewer touches with the ball this season. He says if that continues, Spencer's stock will drop when it comes to the draft. These words sting Spencer a bit. It should be noted, the agent's assistant, Eric (David Gridley), appears unsure of his boss’ assessment. 

Later, Spencer steps back into Crenshaw High School to meet with Preach (Kareem J. Grimes). Preach wants Spencer to talk to young star Deion (Taiv Lee), who is a bit withdrawn under the pressure of all the lights. Deion isn't overly receptive to talking with Spencer, but eventually agrees to go to a GAU practice upon Spencer's invitation.

It's not only Deion at the practice, but Coop and Eric as well. Unfortunately, practice doesn't go Spencer's way after nearly all the plays don't involve him. Spencer calls Jordan out on it, and Jordan claims to be running Mac's offense. In frustration, Spencer asks to play defense. 

Spencer absolutely shines in the defensive position, much to Jordan's chagrin. Jordan eventually throws an interception into Spencer's hands, which prompts Spencer to yell at Jordan, "Is this what it takes for me to get you to throw me the ball?" Spencer shares some more fiery opinions before Coach Boone kicks him off the field. 

Later, Spencer apologizes to Deion for not being a better role model. Deion is shocked to hear an apology. He lets his guard down with Spencer, inviting him to his game. 

When Spencer is catching up with his mom at their family home, Eric comes by to tell Spencer not to let the words of his boss get in his head. Furthermore, he says while practice didn't go the way Spencer intended, he was impressed with his obvious desire to play ball and his defensive chops. Eric thinks when the time comes, plenty of people will pay Spencer attention as an NFL prospect. This all prompts Spencer to ask Eric to become his agent when he's eligible for the draft. 

Does Layla actually want to get married?

Jordan and Layla (Greta Onieogou) talk about the wedding. Layla is very nonchalant about it, whereas Jordan is eager to get planning underway. 

The conversation quickly pivots to Jordan feeling bad his recent football success is coming at the expense of Spencer having fewer plays designed for him. Layla tries to reassure Jordan that Spencer will find a way to get his touches, and it's okay to focus on Jordan's highlight reel season. Hoping to further cheer him up, Layla offers to call a few wedding planners and have them meet with him and Layla later. Jordan is impressed with her initiative and takes her up on the offer. 

After the previously mentioned disaster of a practice with Spencer, Mac approaches Jordan in the locker room and wants to take the star quarterback out to eat. Jordan asks for a raincheck as he's set to connect with Layla. Mac is shocked to learn Jordan is engaged and hopes that doesn't serve as a distraction for the season. 

At Layla's lounge, she is fussing with vendors on the phone. As she wraps the call, her business partner Ryan (Brian Borello) walks in and senses her tense mood. He tries to get her to lighten up with an impromptu dance session. She is reluctant at first, but eventually starts to move to the music. On cue, Jordan walks in and catches them.

Ryan excuses himself and Layla explains she's had a stressful day; Ryan was helping her to decompress. Jordan asks where the wedding planners are. Layla admits to forgetting to call them. An annoyed Jordan swiftly exits. Jordan eventually winds up meeting with Mac in his office and the two enjoy a drink. Mac is ready to make Jordan the star of the team, and Jordan is ready to see that happen. 

Left behind at her lounge, Layla reconvenes with Ryan. Layla notes her feelings about the wedding, and her mood in general, are a bit anticlimactic. She thinks it has something to do with her antidepressants. Ryan says it may be time for her to see a doctor to see if they can recalibrate the medication. 

Asher has a quarterback problem

Asher (Cody Christian) leaves his heart doctor appointment with good news only to walk into the Coastal football locker room to hear that the team's starting quarterback has torn his Achilles. This sends the coaching staff into a tizzy, as they now need to recruit a player to come in last minute.

Tryouts release date

ESPN Plus is debuting Tryouts on Wednesday, April 10.

The inaugural season of the show features seven episodes, with one episode releasing each week from April 10 through May 22.

In order to watch Tryouts, you are going to need a subscription to ESPN Plus. It is available as a standalone service or can be bundled with Disney Plus and Hulu via the Disney Bundle.

We tried it out. All we had to do was click this link and we were taken to ESPN8: The Ocho, which at the time was airing a match from the Professional Cuesports League (billiards). It wasn't clear if this was live or previously recorded.

As you can see in the social media post from ESPN's PR, other "seldom seen sports" that are going to air on ESPN8: The Ocho include kickball, axe throwing, cornhole, dog surfing, wiffleball, stone skipping, foosball, sign spinning, spikeball, table tennis, table hockey, slippery stairs and even pillow fighting.

ESPN has long been the biggest sports provider in the US, though as a cable channel, it required either a traditional pay-TV subscription or a live TV streaming service that carried the channel in order to watch, though most included the network as part of the basic packages as it carried NFL, NBA, NHL, MLB and college sporting events that draw many viewers.

Some of the obscure sports set to appear on ESPN8: The Ocho would occasionally pop up on ESPN2 or some of the other ancillary cable channels, and the network’s streaming service, while ESPN Plus would also have live streams of major and smaller sports. But with ESPN8: The Ocho, these more obscure sports have a permanent home that is easily available for anyone interested.

We guess we just have to wait for the dodgeball tournament featured in Dodgeball to be on.

The NHL season is already in full swing, but it's ratcheting things up a notch on Tuesday, October 24, with the NHL Frozen Frenzy on ESPN. This special broadcast event, taking place for the first time, is going to feature all 32 NHL teams in action, with ESPN offering hockey fans access to all of the games across their various platforms, including ESPN, ESPN2 and ESPN Plus.

The NHL on ESPN special event is going to feature three nationally broadcast games on the flagship ESPN network back-to-back-to-back starting at 6 pm ET/3 pm PT. Then, starting at 6:30 pm ET/3:30 pm PT, the puck is going to drop on a new game every 15 minutes (until 9:45 pm ET/6:45 pm PT), ensuring there will be non-stop hockey throughout the night. 

While all 16 games are going to stream on ESPN Plus, 13 of them are only available to watch in full on ESPN Plus. Spoilers ahead for Mayans M.C. season 5 episode 9 “I Must Go In Now For The Fog Is Rising”. Stay away if you’re avoiding spoilers.

With just one episode left the consequences of EZ’s decisions are starting to hit home in a big way. The penultimate episode of Mayans M.C. opens with a visibly shaken Bottles and Guero catching a late-night ride back to the clubhouse to tell EZ what happened at the Broken Saints ranch.

In the morning Angel is getting Maverick ready for the day with Felipe’s help. Felipe tells Angel that he’s a good papa and that Felipe is proud of him. Angel asks Felipe how he is supposed to tell Maverick that they weren’t good enough for Adelita to stay. Felipe tells Angel to tell Maverick that his mother loved him very much. Felipe warns Angel that boys who grow up without a mother’s love turn hard. He tells Angel not to let Maverick turn out like them.

At Broken Saints ranch EZ seems more concerned about the fentanyl than the people lost. Two of the Broken Saints are dead. So is Elio. There are no supplies left.

The women of the Broken Saints have to move their animals and most of their operation because now the land and water are toxic because of the fentanyl and the supplies to make it.

One of the Broken Saints wants to kill EZ. Johnny Panic takes responsibility for agreeing to help the Mayans. She won’t allow EZ to be killed. But she warns him to leave and never come back. If he comes back, he’ll be killed.

Back at the Sons compound Isaac is upset about EZ killing Happy. He vows that EZ will know what it feels like to lose a brother.

Miguel secretly meets with Devlin to try and cut a deal for him and his family. Now that Emily’s committed to making their family work Miguel is staying true to his promise to move heaven and earth to give them a chance. After Potter threatened to take away everything Miguel has he’s ready to give Devlin what she needs to take Potter down. He gives Devlin some papers to prove to her he has the goods. But he tells her that before he gives up anything else he wants a full immunity deal for him and Emily. Later on in the episode while Emily is playing with Cristobal Miguel gets a call from Devlin. The immunity deal was approved.

As EZ was riding back to the Mayans clubhouse he drops his bike on a deserted highway in the desert. As he’s trying to figure out what to do a woman in an old truck stops to help. She offers to give him a ride to a service station. It’s Wendy Case (Drea de Matteo), Jax Teller’s ex-wife and mother of one of his sons.

As they drive she tells him a little of her history with Jax, without mentioning Jax or the Sons of Anarchy by name. Wendy was passing through the area on her way back from a 12-Step meeting.

It seems she is staying clean for her kids. She counsels him to show up for Sofia and to be more present with her. It’s a really nice cameo and she seems to get through to EZ.

She leaves him at a service station where the owner agrees to go get his bike and get him on the road again. When EZ finally makes it home he has a frank talk with Sofia and tells her he loves her so much it hurts. EZ doesn’t open up to her about all the things he’s struggling with. But he does tell her that that when everything feels like it’s crashing down on him knowing he has her gets him through. EZ and Sofia are back on solid ground, but it may be too late. Everyone that gets close to EZ gets hurt.

Devlin amps up her campaign against Potter. She approaches Potter’s wife and child at a market. Potter sees her and warns her against interacting with his family. Later on Potter approaches Katie to form an alliance. She’s hesitant to work with Potter but agrees to tell him what she knows as long as Potter assures her that EZ will die.

Packer, out for revenge, goes to Angel’s house but no one is there. Angel and Maverick are now staying at Felipe’s. Angel goes out to get food and Felipe puts Maverick to bed. But Packer and the Sons burst into Felipe’s house. They shoot Felipe. He manages to get to his guns and fight back but he’s wounded. In a tense standoff Packer tells Felipe he’s there for Angel. Maverick cries, and Felipe is determined that Packer won’t get Maverick.

As he lays bleeding out Felipe sits on the floor with Maverick in his arms, blasting gunfire at the door of Maverick’s room to keep Packer and the Sons out. There are sirens in the distance and the Sons flee.

Angel returns to the house to see flashing lights and a lot of cops. Felipe is dead, but Maverick is safe. EZ’s decision to kill Happy has now killed Felipe and almost killed Angel. Who will be the next to pay the price for EZ’s decisions?

With just one episode left, EZ’s day of reckoning is at hand. Has he flown too close to the sun? His bid to take down the cartel is in shambles. Felipe is dead. The club is questioning his decisions.

And Packer is determined to make EZ suffer. EZ will either become a leader whose legacy will endure or he’ll become a cautionary tale of failed leadership. Whatever happens the finale of Mayans M.C. is bound to be exciting.

Super Bowl LVII saw the Kansas City Chiefs reign victorious, but hope springs eternal for all 32 NFL teams and their fans each year, in large part starting with the NFL Draft. It's kind of funny how big an event has become where people just read names, but fans love to watch the NFL Draft and are as hyped as ever for the 2023 edition.

The NFL Draft takes place over three days, with its first two days occurring in prime time. Multiple networks are also covering the event and offering different things for fans to watch depending on if you want expert analysis (ESPN and NFL Network) or if you prefer to get to know the personal stories of the college kids getting the opportunity to live their dream (ABC).

We're here to help you sort out all of the ways to watch the NFL Draft, be it on traditional TV or live TV streaming services, as well as all the other key details that you need to know.

NFL Draft date

The 2023 NFL Draft takes begins on Thursday, April 27, and runs through Saturday, April 29. The first round takes place on April 27, with rounds two and three on Friday, April 28, followed by rounds four, five, six and seven on April 29. 

NFL Draft time

After the first round of the NFL Draft concluded just before midnight ET on April 27, day two of the draft, covering rounds two and three takes place on April 28 at 7 pm ET/4 pm PT. 

Then on April 29, draft proceedings kick back off at noon ET/9 am PT with the remaining four rounds (four, five, six and seven)

Many of the networks broadcasting the NFL draft will have coverage hours before the official start time for each day.

How to watch the NFL Draft in the US

There are going to be three networks covering all three days of the NFL Draft in the US — ESPN, ABC and NFL Network — and there are a number of different options to watch any of these channels in whatever way you like: on traditional TV, streaming or on your computer.

ABC is the easiest, as it is one of the four main networks in the US offered to all traditional pay-TV subscribers. If you’re looking for live TV streaming options though, ABC is carried on FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV. If you are a subscriber to any of these options, you'll be able to watch ABC's coverage on TV or on your computer/mobile device.

ABC's sister station ESPN is a cable network, so it is not carried by all traditional pay-TV services, but just about all of them have the option to add the sports-centric channel. Meanwhile, live TV streaming services FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV all carry ESPN. If you subscribe to any of these services, you can also watch ESPN's draft coverage on ESPN.com or the ESPN app.

NFL Plus is going to be your best bet, though it is only carrying live coverage from the first round on April 27. How to watch the NFL Draft in the UK

Sky Sports is going to UK NFL fans’ home to watch the NFL Draft with live coverage of the event airing on the main Sky Sports channel at 1 am UK on Friday, April 28, and midnight UK on Saturday, April 29. The third day of the draft is not scheduled to be shown.

If you don't currently have Sky Sports, it's £24 per month on top of your standard Sky TV subscription, so you can get them bundled together for £46 if you're not already a subscriber.

The Red Sox are bringing up the rear in the AL East right now and are a game under .500, but a series win could get them back into the thick of things. The Red Sox are scoring, ranking top eight in runs so far this season, but their pitching has let them down thus far, with the team's ERA in the 20s. One of their better pitchers is set to start on Sunday in James Paxton.

Sunday Night Baseball TV schedule

Eleven of the 25 games that are going to be a part of the Sunday Night Baseball schedule have been announced. The rest of the slate is going to be revealed as the season goes along, with official announcements of games coming at least two weeks before they're to be played.

Sunday Night Baseball key info

We won't pretend All American season 5 hasn't been a rocky one for Olivia and Spencer. Fans that have been keeping up with the episodes know the pair went from being the Romeo and Juliet of the show to two people who can't be around each other without things getting awkward. However, even in their uncomfortable post-breakup space, it was clear they still loved each other very much. For many viewers though, that love was starting to look like it wouldn't be enough to reunite them as Spencer moved on with Alicia (Pauline Dyer) and Olivia was trying to explore something with Noah (Tyler Parks). 

Then in "Feel It in the Air," which aired on January 30, the episode ended with Oliva telling her mom she still loves Spencer and wants him back. This obviously gave supporters of #Spelivia hope that the two were on the road to reconciliation. 

Fast forward to the February 6 episode titled "O.P.P." With a mission of getting her man back, Olivia knew she had to somehow split up Spencer and Alicia. Thankfully for the Baker twin, an opportunity to get closer to her ex presented itself in the form of a charity date auction to raise money for Jamie (Miya Horcher). The guys of the infamous "Vortex" agreed to allow people to bid for the chance to go on a date with them. When it came time for bidding on a date with Spencer, Olivia made a bold move and went toe-to-toe with Alicia in the auction process and outbid her (not exactly the most subtle move on Olivia's part). 

While on their date, the exes laughed and talked through Spencer's current tiff with Billy Baker (Taye Diggs) over the GAU coaching job. But Olivia chickened out when it came to telling the football player she loves him. Viewers started to think Olivia would waste all her chances to share her feelings. 

By the end of the episode, by coincidence, Spencer and Olivia ran into each other at Billy's home. Taking it as a sign, the younger reporter put her heart on her sleeve and told her ex in a passionate speech that she wants him back. He was left speechless and didn't offer a reply. Not that Olivia gave him much time to respond considering she then quickly left the house. 

With the confession of love put out in the atmosphere, does that mean the show couple is back together? Not yet at least. Again, Spencer didn't say he wanted his ex back and he still has a girlfriend. Fans will have to tune in Monday to see what happens next.

As expected, most viewers are fully behind a reconciliation between Spencer and Olivia. Not only did they enjoy seeing the latter win a date with the former at the auction, but some were moved to tears when she made it known to Spencer that she misses him. ESPN is one of the broadcast homes for the NBA, offering nationally televised games throughout the season as well as the NBA playoffs. But can you watch live NBA games with the self-proclaimed worldwide leader in sports' streaming service, ESPN Plus?

It's complicated.

ESPN Plus offers its subscribers a mix of live sports and original programming. Currently, the sports that you can stream regularly on ESPN Plus include the NHL, college football and other college sports, MLB, the PGA Tour UFC, the Professional Fighting League (PFL), MLS, LaLiga, Bundesliga, Emirates FA Cup, Copa del Ray, the EFL, Scottish Premiership, Top Rank boxing, tennis, cricket, rugby and the Professional Lacrosse League (PLL) and more. Similar to the NFL on ESPN Plus, the streaming service does not regularly stream the NBA, but there are some exceptions.

Select NBA games are being streamed on ESPN Plus, with a simulcast of the ESPN broadcast, a Spanish-language broadcast and Stephen A. Smith's new alternate broadcast available to stream for the game.

For the first week of the 2023-2024 season, there are going to be four NBA games on ESPN, however none of them are going to be available to stream on ESPN Plus.

Check NBA League Pass to see what teams would be affected by local blackout restrictions. Archived versions of blacked out games are available three days after the broadcast via NBA League Pass, though subscribers can listen to these games live.

Another restriction is that any game that airs nationally on ESPN, ABC, TNT & NBA TV is not available to watch live on NBA League Pass, though the games' audio broadcasts are available live and subscribers can watch them three hours after the broadcast concludes.

ESPN is one of the two main broadcast homes for the NBA, along with the NBA on TNT, but how can you watch the NBA on ESPN to make sure you don't miss any of the on-court action? We've got you covered.

The sports cable network is dubbed the worldwide leader in sports for a reason, with Monday Night Football, the NHL on ESPN, college football and more live sports helping to back up that claim. The NBA is also a key component of that, often with multiple games a week airing on ESPN.

How to watch the NBA on ESPN

ESPN is a cable network, but thankfully there are a few ways to get it whether you have cut the cord or not. First, the network is available from just about all traditional cable TV providers (though it never hurts to double-check), which means if you're signed up for a cable package then you should have access to all live games on ESPN.

Those who have opted to move away from traditional pay-TV options can still watch ESPN live if they sign up for a live TV streaming service. ESPN is carried by all four of the most prominent live TV streaming services: Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV.

All of these options allow you to watch the game on your TV, but if you are signed up for any of them you can also watch on your computer or mobile device through either ESPN.com or the Watch ESPN app.

Some NBA games also air on ABC (i.e., Christmas Day games, playoffs). All of the above options, except for Sling TV in some markets, apply to watch ABC as well. However, you can also watch your local ABC station with no such subscription if you have a TV antenna to receive local over-the-air signals.

In case you're wondering if you can watch the NBA on ESPN Plus since the sports network covers the league intensively, the answer is: sometimes. Most NBA games are not available to stream on ESPN Plus, however, simulcasts of select ESPN NBA games (in English and in Spanish) are now being offered on ESPN Plus, as is Stephen A. Smith's alternate broadcast, which you can learn more about below. 

For UK basketball fans, Sky TV carries many games live, though at least in the early part of the season it does not look like they do so for games carried on ESPN.

Stephen A. Smith's alternate NBA broadcast

Just like Peyton and Eli Manning have their Manningcast that serves as an alternate broadcast for Monday Night Football, ESPN commentator Stephen A. Smith is going to be doing an alternate broadcast for NBA games on the network called NBA in Stephen A's World for select games throughout the season.

When Young Rock made its debut in February 2021, fans of Dwayne Johnson’s career immediately started to wonder just how truthful the NBC sitcom was to the former wrestler’s real life. As Young Rock season 3 is about to explore even more of the actor's backstory, we did some digging to help set the record straight. 

While Young Rock actually revolves around a fictional Johnson in 2032, where he is running for president, the show uses flashbacks to tell various stories from three hugely important parts of Johnson’s life. These are his time as a 10-year-old in Hawaii, a high school student in Pennsylvania and in college at the University Of Miami. 

In an interview with USA Today ahead of the show’s release, Johnson insisted that "everything that people see in this first episode and throughout the season, everything happened." However, he was quick to then add the caveat of, "Now, what we do is, maybe it happened in a different year, maybe it happened in a different city."

So, which storylines from Young Rock are actually fact? And which are fiction?

Did The Rock know Andre The Giant?

Iconic wrestler and actor Andre the Giant played a key role throughout Young Rock's first two seasons, regularly passing down advice and being a father figure to the young Johnson. It’s certainly true that Johnson would see the Giant a lot in his youth in real life, too. 

The Rock’s grandfather, the High Chief Peter Maivia, was best friends with Andre the Giant. He’d regularly visit Hawai’i, where Maivia ran a wrestling training center. 

The Rock has posted plenty of pictures of him and Andre the Giant onto social media, all of which proves just how close the pair genuinely were. 

Did The Rock play football?

Clearly, The Rock is a man of many talents. That’s why he was able to transition from being one of the most popular wrestlers of his generation to one of the most popular actors in the world in a heartbeat. As Young Rock shows, The Rock’s talents also extended to football.

Johnson was such a good defensive linesman for Freedom High School in Bethlehem Township, Penn., that he got a full athletic scholarship to the University of Miami. However, despite winning the 1991 national championship there, by the end of his time at college, Johnson had dropped down the pecking order. After graduation, he was only recruited by the Canadian football League’s Calgary Stampeders. 

Two months into the 1995 season, he was cut, leaving him with just $7 in his pocket. That’s when he turned his attention to wrestling. The rest, as they say, is history.

Did a homeless man die in The Rock’s first car?

No, he did not. But a lot of the story is true. 

In the very first episode of Young Rock, entitled "Working the Gimmick," we see Johnson buying a car for $103 from a very sketchy individual while working in a pizzeria. When he drives it away, though, a homeless man wakes up in the backseat. 

Over the course of the episode, the homeless man buys The Rock and his friend alcohol, they have a fun night, only for him to suddenly die in the backseat. The Rock then abandons the car at a fast food restaurant, calls the police and leaves an anonymous message that he’s dead.

In real life, though, Johnson bought the car when he was 15 for $75 and drove it halfway down the road. That’s when the homeless person in the back woke up. According to an old interview dug up by CinemaBlend, Johnson kicked him out of the car and he never saw him again. Johnson then realized he didn’t have the "gas key" for the car, so he left it outside a Burger King. 

Did Cyndi Lauper and Liberace attend Wrestlemania?

In Young Rock season 3, some of The Rock’s early brushes with celebrities are going to be shown. This includes legendary singer Cyndi Lauper, who after the success of her singles "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" and "Time After Time," found herself involved in the WWE. 

While Lauper herself wasn’t a wrestler, on March 31, 1985, at Wrestlemania I, Lauper managed Wendi Richter, who defeated Leilani Kai to win the WWF Women’s Championship.

Another celebrity set to appear in Young Rock season 3 is Liberace. Like Lauper, Liberace appeared at Wrestlemania I. 

Rather than getting in the ring, though, the legendary musician/actor was the guest timekeeper for the main event, which saw Hulk Hogan and Mr. T defeat Roddy Piper and Paul Orndorff. 

During the promotion for Wrestlemania, Liberace even sat next to Muhammed Ali and Hulk Hogan and spoke about his late mother’s love of wrestling.

Will The Rock run for president?

Of course, one of the great unknowns regarding Young Rock is whether or not Dwayne Johnson will actually run for president in 2032. We still have to wait a few years to find out whether or not that’s fact or fiction. 

There were reports in 2022 that quoted Johnson as saying that a presidential run was "off the table," but in an interview with CNN, while he said that a future political career is not his focus right now, it is something that he may still consider down the line.
