For many General Hospital viewers, it’s been rather shocking (and difficult) to watch Drew (Cameron Mathison) morph into the most infuriating man in Port Charles. Heck, there’s an argument no one in all of daytime is more loathed than the congressman. Drew has gone through such a drastic change that we decided to look back and focus on the moment his character shifted, in hopes of trying to figure out what happened.

Pinpointing the occasion, we surmised that Drew changed in the aftermath of him being stabbed in prison while he was serving a sentence to spare Carly (Laura Wright) from getting locked up. The shift in his demeanor was slight at the time, shown really in how he interacted with Nina (Cynthia Watros) upon his release from confinement and his insistence that Scout (Cosette Abinante) attend a private school. However, Drew upped the ante when he carried on in an affair with Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and tried to blackmail everyone in town.

Having said all of that, our best guess as to what transformed Drew boiled down to the theory that former General Hospital villain Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin) somehow faked his death, got plastic surgery to look like Drew and swapped places with him sometime during the prison transport to or from the hospital after the real Drew was stabbed. Furthermore, the real Drew may be held hostage somewhere.

While we think the theory is still plausible, with Britt’s (Kelly Thiebaud) return, we have to consider another one. As has been talked about on the show, Britt is working for a mystery boss that allegedly cares about her. One who is partnered with Sidwell (Carlo Rota) in this Port Charles takeover plot.

We’ve previously guessed the mystery person is either Cesar Faison (Anders Hove ) or Peter August (Wes Ramsey). If our hunch is right, then we have to consider that somehow during Drew’s prison stabbing and him being treated, either Cesar or Peter got to Drew to again play games with his mind.

Longtime General Hospital viewers will recall that Cesar and Peter once worked with Helena (Constance Towers) in kidnapping Drew and enacting their brain-mapping plot to switch his memories with Jason's (Steve Burton). They further made Drew a trained assassin. Is it possible that Cesar or Peter again targeted Drew to use him for some yet-to-be-revealed master scheme? Sure it is. If this is the case, Port Charles is going to be in for one heck of a shocker when the truth comes out, which could easily occur on the back of Britt returning to Port Charles and her boss becoming exposed.

Again, these are just a few theories that could explain Drew’s erratic behavior. It’s entirely possible that Drew morphed into someone unrecognizable for a completely different reason.

The 2025 Daytime Emmy Award nominations have been announced, and the What to Watch team has been counting down to the big ceremony on October 17.

As I personally wait to see who will walk away with some gold hardware when the time comes, I’ve gone through several of the Emmy categories to offer my take on who should win. Previously, I made my arguments for why The Young and the Restless’ Eileen Davidson and Courtney Hope should respectively win for Outstanding Lead Actress and Outstanding Supporting Actress. Now it’s time to tackle the Outstanding Supporting Actor category.

This year’s nominees for Outstanding Supporting Actor are no surprise, as they all delivered an amazing body of work in 2024. Take The Young and the Restless’ Michael Graziadei, for example. Graziadei did a bang-up job portraying a grieving Daniel Romalotti, who was wrestling with difficult emotions after losing the love of his life in Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom). Not only that, the Daniel character had to fight for his freedom after being framed for Heather's murder, and be a supportive father to a daughter who lost her mother.

Days of Our Lives’ Blake Berris was also a standout portraying Everett/Bobby. The dissociative identity disorder storyline usually pushes an actor to dive deep into their reservoir of talent to effectively play different people in the same soap, and Berris didn’t disappoint.

The rest of the supporting actor category this year is rounded out by General Hospital actors, all of whom are no longer present on the canvas of the show yet are incredibly deserving of a win.

First, there’s longtime General Hospital star Jonathan Jackson. Many fans welcomed Jackson’s return to the soap as Lucky Spencer, and he was tied into a few life-or-death scenarios. He popped back on the canvas trying to escape a deadly hostage situation with Sidwell (Carlo Rota), was devastated he couldn’t be the one to save his sister’s life and he became the first person to learn that Kristina (Kate Mansi) tried to kill the love of his life Elizabeth (Rebecca Hearst), who it was also nice to see him reconnect with after all these years.

Gregory Harrison was also exceptional as Gregory Chase in General Hospital. Although his time on the show was brief, I can’t deny how impactful it was watching Harrison’s Gregory Chase struggle with ALS, while making a profound impact on the lives of his family members and friends. His last moments as Gregory Chase, in particular, were tearjerkers.

And as many heartstrings as Harrison pulled on among viewers, I think it will be Tajh Bellow who walks away with the Daytime Emmy this year for his portrayal of TJ Ashford.

Though the powers that be inexplicably phased out the character in the current landscape, the scenes Bellow delivered in 2024 were some of the best of the year as a grieving parent. Not only did he have to show the sadness that comes with losing a child, but he also was forced to show the anger and frustration that comes with learning that had the child survived, his pseudo sister-in-law/surrogate had every intention of keeping the baby.

Adding to Bellow’s remarkable year was the subsequent storyline of having to pick up the pieces of his shattered dream without his partner, Molly (Kristen Vaganos). Bellow gave viewers two versions of heartbreak simultaneously, as Molly essentially was incapable of helping TJ mourn their daughter or being a common-law wife to him.

On a final note, while I would again surmise that Bellow has this locked in the bag, I won’t rule out the small chance that Harrison comes up victorious.

General Hospital’s rivalry between Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is really heating up. Now that Sonny kidnapped Sidwell’s son Marco (Adrian Anchondo), Sidwell is out for blood. He wants to take Sonny’s property, business and family. But Sidwell’s plan to alienate Sonny from his family is not going to work, in my opinion.

Slap an AirTag on that plan

We learned earlier in the summer that Sidwell was the one who paid off Judge Heran (Tessa Auberjonois) to give Michael Corinthos (Rory Gibson) full custody of his children. But that seemed like a bizarre move, and many people were confused about why Sidwell would care about the Corinthos’ custody battle.

Now, Sidwell has revealed that his master plan is to get Michael to turn on Sonny by making it seem like Sonny paid off the judge so that Michael would get custody. Once it comes out that Judge Heran took a bribe, Michael could lose custody of his kids to Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). Furthermore, if Sidwell frames Sonny so that it looks like Sonny paid off the judge, Michael may become so upset that he’d turn on Sonny and cut him out of his life. That would make Sonny lose the thing he values most, his family.

If you’re having trouble understanding that, you’re not alone. That plan is so convoluted that Sidwell should have put a GPS on it to just keep track of it. Sidwell says he’s playing the long game, but that’s not a long game, it’s a cry for help.

Judge Heran

There are a lot of flaws in Sidwell’s plan, but the first and biggest flaw is that Judge Heran knows Sidwell paid her. She met with him at Wyndemere to tell him that she had done as he wanted and given Michael full custody. Sidwell told her that she would receive her final payment. How would Sidwell set up Sonny for making the bribe when the judge knows it was Sidwell?

Theoretically, he could have the judge killed and make it look like the deposits to the judge came from Sonny’s bank accounts or business accounts that were tied to Sonny. But without the judge, there would be no way to prove that she gave custody to Michael solely because of a bribe. So he needs the judge alive, and she needs to tell the police that she made her decision based only on the bribe. But if she talks to the police, will she also tell them that Sidwell was the one who paid her?

Frame Sonny

It’s safe to assume Sidwell knows a lot about laundering money. But he can’t just drop a random payment in the judge’s account and make it look like it came from an account tied to Sonny Corinthos. In order for Sonny to get charged for bribing the judge, there would need to be proof that the money received by Judge Heran came from Sonny directly or from one of his business accounts that he has direct access to.

Anyone who knows Sonny knows that he would never be careless enough to drop a bribe in someone’s account using an account that could be traced to him. Even if Sidwell could somehow find a way to tie Sonny to the bribe money, it would be a big stretch for anyone who knows Sonny, including Anna (Finola Hughes) and the PCPD, to believe that Sonny would be that sloppy.

Michael’s loyalty

Another reason why this plan is destined to fail is that if Michael lost custody of his kids, he wouldn’t blame Sonny, and he wouldn’t take it lying down. At this point, Michael is never going to hand those kids over to Willow. If the custody order was reversed because the bribe came to light, Michael would take those kids and flee the country. And Sonny would put them on his personal jet to do it.

Sonny has built a rock-solid relationship with Michael. Michael isn’t going to turn on his dad just because Sidwell tried to frame him. Even if he lost custody, Michael would never believe that Sonny bribed the judge because he knows that family is everything to Sonny. Michael would never believe that his father would risk Michael losing custody by doing something stupid like bribing the judge. It’s not going to happen.

Is this all Sidwell’s got?

Sidwell is supposed to be a huge global power player, but since he’s settled in Port Charles, he’s been more of a cartoon villain than an international crime boss. This plan of his to get rid of Sonny is laughable. Frankly, if this is the best he can come up with, Sonny is going to end up driving Sidwell out of town easily. So far, it seems like Sonny has been able to get the upper hand in every interaction he’s had with Sidwell.

Sonny really struck a hard blow when he kidnapped Marco and showed Sidwell that his family isn’t safe. Understandably, Sidwell wants to make Sonny feel the same way, but this plan of his isn’t very scary. There are too many variables that Sidwell can’t control, and I don’t think it will work.

Sidwell needs to go back to the drawing board or let Marco come up with a plan if he really wants to succeed in getting rid of Sonny Corinthos.

We’ll be the first to admit that, as of late, on General Hospital, Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) has made one poor decision after the next.

Before Sam (Kelly Monaco) died, Alexis basically sacrificed herself for Kristina (Kate Mansi), willing to go to prison for her daughter, thinking there was a chance Kristina murdered John Cates (Adam J. Harrington). Then, after Alexis learned that Kristina attempted to actually kill Ava (Maura West) but almost murdered Ric (Rick Hearst) and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) instead, the attorney decided to help her child by covering up the crime. Not only that, but Alexis agreed to embezzle money from her great-nephew’s estate to pay Ava and Ric to keep quiet.

With all that being said and looking ahead, we have a hunch that Alexis may finally attempt to do what she should have done a long time ago, and that’s go after custody of Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Sam’s daughter Scout (Cosette Abinante).

We understand that at first glance, it’s a bit of a stretch for Alexis to go after custody of Scout when Drew is her father and has the means to take care of her. However, his antics continue to prove he has no moral compass, is perhaps the most manipulative person in Port Charles and his growing list of powerful enemies may soon make him as dangerous to be around as Sonny (Maurice Benard).

To add to all of this, Drew told Alexis in the General Hospital episode that aired on August 7 that he plans to move Scout to DC with him, taking her from the only family she knows, as she still grieves her mother.

Up until now, Alexis has frustrated us by not looking at custody as an option and constantly chastising Drew’s enemies for making life difficult for him in Port Charles, which could prompt him to leave town with Scout. She got upset with Tracy (Jane Elliot) for pushing Drew’s buttons, and judging by the preview clip for the episode airing on August 8, Alexis is going to unleash on Jason (Steve Burton) for more or less the same.

We get it, she wants to keep Scout in town and wants to honor Sam’s wishes for her daughter. But at some point, Alexis needs to wake up and realize no one is going to keep putting up with Drew’s shenanigans out of some misguided loyalty to Sam’s memory. Heck, Sam would be repulsed by Drew if she were alive. If Alexis really wanted to honor her daughter, she would do what even Tracy suggested, and go after custody of Scout, which we think the savvy attorney may soon gear up to do.

Not for nothing, should Alexis make the bold move, she knows the law, would likely have an excellent custody lawyer in bestie Diane (Carolyn Hennesy), could get a long list of credible character witnesses and if Sidwell (Carlo Rota) learns of such a case, he may tip the scales in her favor given Drew foolishly attempted to threaten him in the episode that again aired on August 7.

Unfortunately, Alexis does have this whole embezzlement scheme hanging over her head, but as long as that secret remains a secret (at the very least doesn't get her tossed in prison before a custody ruling), she may be in a good position to get Scout.

When it comes to the General Hospital world, you’d think none of the players on the canvas heard of the expression, “Secrets, secrets are no fun, secrets, secrets hurt someone." There are a number of secrets floating around Port Charles at any given time, and the people in Molly’s (Kristen Vaganos) life are holding some whoppers.

Months ago, Kristina (Kate Mansi) thought she was doing the world a favor by cutting the brakes on Ava’s (Maura West) car. However, she failed to realize she cut the brakes on Ric’s (Rick Hearst) vehicle by mistake, causing him and Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), a passenger in Ric’s car, to get into an accident instead.

Kristina immediately felt guilty about her actions and was content with not going to the police, but she found herself at the center of a blackmail scheme thanks to Ric and Ava.

Ric and Ava had enough evidence to get police to arrest Kristina for attempted murder, but decided to use what they had to force Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) into stealing money from the Cassadine estate belonging to baby Ace to pay them for their silence.

Alexis has maintained she’s doing the wrong thing for a good reason, wanting to keep Kristina out of prison and wanting to spare Molly from becoming outraged to learn her sister tried to kill her father. If you’re trying to run down the list of crimes in all of this chaos, we count attempted murder, accessory to a crime after the fact, obstruction of justice and embezzlement.

With all that being said, and this being the soap world, Molly is bound to find out she’s being lied to by the people she thought she knew best. The only question is, how will she learn the truth? If we had to guess, she may start to unravel this tangled web of deceit thanks to Cody (Josh Kelly).

At the moment, Cody has been cozying up to Ava because Kristina paid him to seduce her away from Ric, believing that splitting up Ric and Ava would put a stop to the couple’s blackmail scheme. However, Cody has genuinely been building a bond with Molly. Given Cody’s habit of being a blabbermouth, we can imagine him eventually confessing to Molly about being hired by Kristina.

Should that happen, Molly is likely to confront Kristina to question the motive behind such a duplicitous scheme. Kristina may pretend she was just doing this all out of a need to end a relationship between Ric and Ava, which Molly wasn’t a fan of herself. However, Molly is smart and may not buy that excuse.

We suspect Molly would then do some digging around until she discovered some clues and learned the truth. And should that happen, she is bound to be more furious than we’ve ever seen her.

Not only did her sister try to kill her father, but Molly’s immediate family has committed some serious crimes, and she works for the District Attorney’s office. Once Molly knows what they did, she’s obligated to report it as an officer of the court, but would she? Although we can’t say for sure whether Molly would turn her family over to the authorities, we are almost positive she’ll be outraged being forced into this position of having to decide.

While many Port Charles residents are worried about whether or not Sonny (Maurice Benard) may be headed to prison for kidnapping, money laundering or whatever else may arise in his feud with Sidwell (Carlo Rota), perhaps more attention should be paid to the fates of Kristina, Alexis, Ava and Ric.

General Hospital’s Dimpled Kingpin and residential Casanova, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bendard), has found himself in an unusual predicament lately, and that’s being incredibly single. Although he was in a relationship of sorts with the dearly departed Natalia (Eva LaRue), we’d argue that he’s not been in a real romance since ending his marriage to Nina (Cynthia Watros) back in the early part of 2024.

As such is the case, we think it’s time he jumpstarts his love life and kicks off his next great courtship. Having said that, we decided to play matchmaker and come up with a shortlist of women we think would be perfect for him. First up is ADA Justine Turner (Nazneen Contractor).

So sure, ADA Turner is currently trying to do everything legally possible to have Sonny locked away in prison. However, we’ve noticed the banter between them often borders on flirtatious. And Turner would hardly be the first woman on the right side of the law to fall for Port Charles’ residential mob boss. Heck, longtime fans of General Hospital will recall Sonny once fell for FBI Agent Reese Marshall (Kari Wührer).

Our second pick for Sonny’s next romance would be Nina. Although the two split due to Nina’s lying, the exes have managed to remain on friendly terms since the divorce, even as Michael (Rory Gibson) and Willow’s (Katelyn MacMullen) marriage imploded. Sonny and Nina have shared a number of one-on-one conversations since divorcing that lead us to believe there’s still love there. Plus, with Nina being a town pariah after the truth about her and Drew (Cameron Mathison) was revealed, and Sonny fighting a public perception battle of his own, the duo may find comfort in each other.

Last up in the quest to pair Sonny off is, of course, Carly (Laura Wright). The two are like The Young and the Restless’ Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). Both couples live to break up to make up. We won’t even pretend to count how many times Sonny and Carly have remarried over the years.

Now, a #Carson reunion faces two issues. On one hand, Carly is currently in a relationship with Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna). On the other hand, Carly is in a different stage in her life and doesn’t want to embrace being together with someone in the underworld. However, her relationship with Jack is doomed given all his lies about Josslyn (Eden McCoy), and Sonny wants to get out of the mob business as soon as he deals with this Sidwell (Carlo Rota) threat. When the truth about Jack comes out and Sidwell is dealt with, we can see the exes reuniting.

Although we’re still rejoicing over the fact that General Hospital’s Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) finally knows the truth about Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) and sees Drew as the loathsome politician that he is, we still think she is a long way from being the nice and innocent woman viewers first met.

From the day the judge ruled in favor of Michael (Rory Gibson) in the custody hearing, we noticed that something inside her broke. Which is why we weren’t shocked when Willow was revealed to be the one stalking baby Daisy and trying to drive Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) mad. And after Willow learned the truth about Drew, it was interesting to watch her unravel and become unhinged at Carly’s (Laura Wright) house, begging to see her children.

Fast forward to the present, and although she is doing her best to pretend she’s in a better place, despite desperately wanting her children, we just don’t buy it. In fact, we believe Willow may soon prove she’s not quite on the redemptive arc that she wants people to believe she’s on. It’s not hard to imagine a scenario that occurs in the near future where Willow places another person in her currently chaotic web, and we’re talking about Chase (Josh Swickard).

In the General Hospital episode that aired on August 5, Chase took a moment to offer some comfort to Willow at the hospital. As she cried about her current plight, he listened with quite the sympathetic ear. He had so much compassion for her that he even goes to Michael in the episode airing on August 6 to plead Willow’s case about visitation with the kids. Given that Michael now strongly suspects Willow stalked Daisy, we don’t think Chase will get very far.

However, if Willow suspects Chase is an ally, she could attempt to seduce him at some point, seeing his sympathy as more romantic and less platonic. Or, she could seduce him, hoping to gain leverage over him so she can strong-arm him into doing some of her bidding in a quest to get her kids back (bidding that exists within the realm of legal).

These scenarios, of course, are problematic largely because Chase is married to Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton). With all the Quartermaines still furious with Willow for cheating on Michael with Drew, they’d probably be further outraged if they were to ever learn Willow and Chase got romantically involved in the future.

Just a reminder, Willow and Chase were married once upon a time, so them tapping into some residual feelings from the past is completely believable. Additionally, Chase and Brook Lynn have hit a few rough patches thanks to the Gio (Giovanni Mazza) truth coming to light and their difficult journey to have a child together.

Returning from the dead isn’t exactly a nuanced concept for General Hospital or daytime TV as a whole. Soaps have been reviving characters from death for years, and Dr. Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) is the most recent example of that. Although she was previously believed to be murdered at the hands of Heather Webber (Alley Mills), as viewers now know, she is somehow alive and well, just waiting for Jason (Steve Burton) or someone to stumble across her path.

Again, as viewers know, Britt is alive but is tied up in this villainous plot with Dalton (Daniel Goddard) and Sidwell (Carlo Rota). Well, in the General Hospital episode airing on August 4, show writers seem to drop some clues as to who the other mysterious partner and boss is in all of this.

First, Anna (Finola Hughes) and Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) bump into each other on the dock and have an interesting one-on-one. They talk about regrets, and Anna regrets joining the WSB and the sacrifices she made for the job, while Obrecht wishes she hadn’t fallen in love with an evil maniac, aka Cesar Faison (Anders Hove). It seems rather interesting that Cesar’s name would be brought up now, with him also believed to be dead.

Also, in the episode, Britt talks to an employee of her boss and stresses that the boss wants her to be kept happy, and she’s not. Furthermore, in a later phone conversation with the boss, while viewers don’t hear him, it appears that the boss is concerned about Britt’s well-being.

Given that Anna and Obrecht brought up Cesar, and Cesar was Britt’s father, we have to consider that Cesar is Britt’s boss and Sidwell’s unknown partner. However, while this could be the case, we tend to think there is another possibility. After all, Cesar wasn’t exactly the nicest to Britt when he was known to be alive, so him being a doting father all of a sudden would be a slight change.

Pivoting, allow us to propose the idea that the big boss in this whole ordeal is none other than Peter August (Wes Ramsey). The conversation between Anna and Obrecht could actually foreshadow Peter returning from the dead, as he’s Cesar’s son, Obrecht's sort-of stepson and Anna’s nephew. Plus, he’s Britt’s brother and has a vested interest in committing evil acts in Port Charles.

Selfishly, we kind of hope Peter is the big boss, as he would cause a lot more trouble in Port Charles than Cesar in this day and age. Let’s not forget, Peter shares a daughter with Maxie (Kirsten Storms), once employed Lulu, had his “dead” body hidden by Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst), blackmailed Nina (Cynthia Watros) and once played a role in the whole memory debacle with Drew. Peter resurfacing would impact a lot more players in town and cause widespread panic.

However, we won’t know who the big boss is until he’s actually revealed. So, it looks like we’ll all just have to keep watching the show.

Although we thought it would be General Hospital’s Jason (Steve Burton) to unearth Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) new job, as it turns out, that honor belongs to Anna (Finola Hughes) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). The Port Charles officers caught Josslyn and Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) in the act of spying and were able to put two and two together to determine that the young duo are WSB agents.

Now, at the time of the “aha moment,” Anna and Dante decided to keep what they knew from Carly (Laura Wright), concluding that Jack Brennan’s (Chris McKenna) investigation into Dalton (Daniel Goddard) must be of utmost importance and that exposing Josslyn would do more harm than good. Fast forward to the following preview clip for General Hospital episodes airing on August 4, and it appears Anna may have changed her tune, threatening to reveal what she knows to Carly.

As seen in the clip, in addition to Anna making that ominous threat, she’s subsequently kidnapped by an unidentified man dressed in black. And that got us thinking, who would have it out for Anna? Obviously, we believe that the culprit is an operative of Jack.

We can imagine that after Anna issues Jack a threat about exposing him for recruiting Josslyn into the WSB, he’d want to do what he could to ensure she keeps her mouth shut. To be clear, we don’t think he would have her kidnapped to keep her hostage long-term. We suspect Jack would do so long enough to keep her out of the way of the Dalton investigation, or more likely, he’d kidnap Anna and have her brought to him, so he can meet her in a secret location to discuss why it’s important for Anna to remain quiet.

With all that being said, it just seems as if there is an unofficial clock in Port Charles counting down to the moment Carly inevitably finds out about Josslyn working for the WSB, and Jack being the one who recruited Josslyn after helping her cover up the murder of Cyrus (Jeff Kober). When that happens, The Metro Court is bound to explode, and we believe she’ll wind up ending things with Jack.

Should our hunch prove correct, we just have one question. Will a single Carly gravitate to a single Sonny (Maurice Benard) and kick off a new #Carson romance?

General Hospital's Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) has always had a very complicated relationship with her mother, Liesl Obrecht (Kathleen Gati). That’s probably an understatement, but when Jason (Steve Burton) approached Liesel at the bar and asked her about Britt’s death, Liesl seemed genuinely upset and still grieving for her daughter, even though we know she is very much alive.

Far away in Croatia at the Five Poppies, Britt is also having some complicated feelings, wistfully said “Goodnight, Mutter” before falling asleep. That makes it seem like she misses her mother. Why hasn’t she reached out to Liesl in all this time to let her mother know she’s alive? That seems strange.

The Britch

Britt isn’t known for being a sentimental person. She didn’t get the nickname “The Britch” for nothing. And from the way she treated the massage therapist at the Five Poppies it doesn’t look like she’s changed much.

During her relationship with Jason, she did become a little softer and let her guard down more. Plus, she told Liesl in the past that it upset her to think that people thought she was cold and mean; and she did return to her mother when she was dying, seeking comfort from Liesl in her last moments.

It’s possible that even though she survived the poison, Britt has an illness. In Croatia we saw her inject herself with some kind of medication. Maybe she hasn’t told her mother that she’s alive in case the treatment she’s getting doesn’t work.

Even the mean and manipulative Britch may have wanted to spare her mother the agony of watching her daughter die twice. It would wreck Liesl to find out her daughter was alive, then have to lose her all over again.

But is The Britch capable of that kind of empathy for another person? I’m not convinced. She was never taught empathy or kindness as a child, so even though she did soften up over the years I am not sure that she would go to these lengths to protect her mother’s feelings.

The one person who seemed to be able to break through Britt’s shell was Jason. The fact that they share a lifetime of doing morally questionable deeds and crimes probably helped build that bond. Jason’s motives are always good though, while Britt’s are usually self-serving.

Maybe Britt didn’t tell her mother that she was alive so that Liesl wouldn’t tell Jason? Britt has to know that Jason would come looking for her if he knew she was alive.

If Britt is mixed up in something shady again she might not want Jason to find her so that he won’t get involved in whatever it is she’s up to. She’s been keeping tabs on what happens in Port Charles, so she must know Jason is alive. It’s plausible that she would keep quiet so she doesn’t appear on Jason’s radar.

The Cassadine connection

But the best motive for Britt to not reveal herself to Liesl is that she is connected to something deeply shady that is affecting the power players in Port Charles. The shot that she gave herself is a clue. So is the fact that the courier delivered Dalton’s (Daniel Goddard) backpack to her.

Whatever Dalton is up to, he’s been testing something on animals, which is why Emma (Braedyn Bruner) wants to bust him. But I doubt the WSB wants to get the inside scoop on Dalton because he is engaged in animal testing. Animal testing is heinous, but it’s not the kind of thing that the WSB would send in a team over.

What if Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) arrival, his purchase of Wyndemere, Dalton relocating to GH and conducting experiments there, and Britt’s reappearance are all connected? They all seem to be tied to some mystery man that is calling the shots. What if that mystery man is Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy)?

It would make sense. The bomb that was set in Sonny’s penthouse that injured Michael was an older WSB explosive device. Victor was at one point the director of the WSB. He kidnapped Liesl, so if Britt is now working with Victor that could be why she hasn’t reached out to her mother.

Maybe Victor somehow saved her from the poison that supposedly killed her, and got her to help him with some kind of medical testing, which is now being carried out in Port Charles. He could have some kind of partnership with Jenz Sidwell to get rid of Sonny (Maurice Benard) and take control of Port Charles so that Victor could return and once again be the primary power in Port Charles.

Whoever is behind the experiments that Dalton is doing must have deep pockets and connections to Port Charles and General Hospital, because there are secret experiments going on in General Hospital labs. Britt would know what labs in the hospital could be used secretly, and how to access them. She could be directing the research and experiments from afar.

And, if Britt is involved in some kind of highly experimental medical tests funded or directed by Victor Cassadine, it would make sense that she wouldn’t let her mother know about it. Even if she does love and miss Liesl, Victor would make sure that she keeps quiet either by threatening to have Liesl killed or some other type of coercion.

It will be interesting to see what Jason finds out about Britt, and why she hasn’t revealed to anyone that she’s alive. It will also be interesting to see if the WSB is aware that she’s alive.

On General Hospital, Emma (Braedyn Bruner) never turns away from a challenge, especially if it means she can help animals in the process. Exhibit A, she was thrown out of school and charged with crimes in California for protesting against animal testing.

Now she’s followed Dalton (Daniel Goddard) to Port Charles, determined to get the evidence she needs to prove he’s testing something on animals. And she enlisted Gio’s (Giovanni Mazza) help to do it.

When Josslyn (Eden McCoy) stole Emma’s work and used it to get an internship with Dalton so that she could get close to him on a mission for the WSB, Emma found another way to get what she needed. She stole the building master key from Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) while pretending to flirt with him.

But Emma and Gio have no idea that whatever Dalton is doing is so much more serious than experimenting on animals. Anna (Finola Hughes) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) have just recently figured out that Vaughn is a WSB agent and that whatever Dalton is doing is tied to an international mystery. Now Anna is very concerned that Emma is putting herself in the middle of a situation that is far more dangerous than she thinks.

And she is, especially if she becomes Dalton’s new research assistant. Vaughn told Josslyn that Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) is going to pull them out of the assignment.

If that’s true, and Josslyn quits the internship, Emma is next in line to take it. With the key she stole from Vaughn and unfettered access to Dalton’s records, Emma could learn more than she wants to know about whatever experiments Dalton is really doing.

Only Josslyn and Vaughn know that Dalton was doing something in a secret lab at General Hospital. Emma doesn’t know that these experiments could be connected to medical research that people would be willing to kill for. And whoever is funding this research probably isn’t going to let one college student get in the way of these experiments.

Emma probably thinks the worst trouble she can get into is getting expelled or getting arrested again. But if she isn’t careful, she’s going to drag Gio with her into an international mystery that could put them both in very real danger.

And knowing Emma, that’s exactly what is going to happen. She doesn’t really stop to think about the consequences of her actions or the big picture. And she doesn’t take no for an answer either.

Gio is a bystander in all this who is just going along with Emma because he wants to help and protect her. But if Emma insists on going through with her plan to bring Dalton down she may need Gio and her grandmother, Anna, to rescue her because she ends up in jail or worse.

No one warned me when I started covering soaps a few years back that I'd become so invested in the stories that missing an episode or two (or three or four) could really throw me off. So now we want to know how you deal with missed episodes of your favorite soap by voting in our poll below, or leave a comment if you don't see a response that matches your strategy.

I'll admit, early on in my soaps coverage days, I wasn't as worried about missing an episode here or there. But unlike network or cable TV shows with a new episode every week, soaps air every day and a missed episode can throw off the whole experience if something big happens while you were away.

It was one thing when I only covered The Bold and the Beautiful. Catching up on the half-hour soap was easy, even if I sat and watched all of the episodes back to back so that I was on track once again. Adding Days of Our Lives to the mix complicated things because trying to catch up on an hour-long show can be challenging if you've missed more than one or two.

Recently I attended San Diego Comic-Con and missed a few episodes of the daytime dramas I cover. My plan had been to watch them upon returning home each night from the pop culture confab. While sitting in the press room working on an article, my esteemed What to Watch colleague sent me a message that something big happened on B&B and I was instantly filled with FOMO. Was I missing a big story? Should I watch right away?

Trying to catch up on one show was hard enough, but catching up on missed episodes, while staying on top of new episodes, was downright challenging.

Since B&B is shorter, I was able to watch those episodes but for Days I turned to a mix of reading recaps, watching clips and scouring social media for the big events everyone was talking about. In some cases I went back and watched key events in the episode.

Now, I realize that in my case it's a bit different. I write about soaps for a living so I need to stay on top of what's happening. If that wasn't the case, I'm not sure I'd feel so much pressure to catch up.

On General Hospital, Jason (Steve Burton) remains convinced the woman he saw in the airport was Britt (Kelly Thiebaud). Even though Liesel Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) seems to genuinely think Britt is dead and grieves for her, it certainly wouldn’t be the first time a character cheated death against all odds.

Liesel said that Britt died in her arms and was cremated, but is that true? Jason is digging into what happened after Britt’s death to find out.

To find out, Jason is turning to Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst). Elizabeth hasn’t had much of a storyline since Lucky (Joshua Jackson) left, so it’s nice to see her having something to do. But how can Elizabeth help Jason prove Britt is alive?

Elizabeth has great instincts and loves a mystery. It’s possible Jason will confide his suspicions to her hoping she will help him talk through all the ways Britt might have possibly survived. The two have a long past, and a solid friendship, so Jason may feel like he can turn to Elizabeth for help even though she never really liked Britt.

It’s also possible that Jason wants Elizabeth’s help getting Britt’s records from General Hospital. Even though Britt’s records would be inactive after her death, her medical records could contain important information that could tell Jason more about where she could be.

And, if anyone else has accessed those records since her death that could mean she’s alive somewhere and getting medical treatment. Maybe she’s getting treated for Huntington’s? Her medical records might show if other doctors accessed them and where they accessed the records from. That could give Jason more insight into where Britt might be.

Jason did find the Five Poppies spa online after remembering seeing the stranger who could be Britt carrying a Five Poppies bag. Maybe the spa is also a medical spa, which could explain why she’s been staying there. If she’s getting treatment for either Huntington’s or the effects of the poison that was supposed to have killed her it would make sense for her to be staying at a spa.

Speaking of the poison that Heather Webber (Alley Mills) used to kill Britt, the medical records could contain information about it. Knowing what poison it was, and how the poison works, would give Jason a starting point. From there he could start researching whether or not it’s possible for someone to survive the poison.

Jason needs proof before he does anything crazy like fly to Croatia, or tell Liesel that Britt might be alive. Elizabeth might be able to give him the proof he needs through Britt’s medical records and personnel file from the hospital. She may not want to help him because she never liked Britt, but she does really care about Jason, so she may help him just because he needs to know for sure if Britt is alive or dead.

General Hospital spoilers say that Michael (Rory Gibson) has a big decision to make, and that decision probably has to do with his ex-wife Willow (Katelyn MacMullen).

Michael has tried in the past to work out a split custody arrangement with Willow because he knows it’s important for the kids to have a good relationship with their mother. Her relationship with Drew made that impossible.

But now that Willow has left Drew, Michael has to decide whether or not to let Willow be part of the kids’ lives. The custody hearing is still months away, but Michael knows it would hurt the kids to not see their mom for months.

Michael could choose to let Willow be around the kids if someone is there to supervise them, so she doesn’t kidnap them or do something impulsive or crazy. He does seem to want to let the kids have time with their mom. Can Willow really be trusted though?

Yes, she left Drew. But Willow is not the same. She’s a shell of her former self, and she has given up all control of her life to Drew. That’s not going to go away overnight. Just because she walked away from marrying Drew that doesn’t mean she’s going to be in the right mental state to have any kind of shared custody.

Drew also has already bulldozed his way into the Q mansion demanding to see Willow, so until that relationship is really done it’s definitely not safe for the kids to be around Willow. Drew could come barging in and scare them at any time.

Michael knows that Willow loves the kids. And now he knows that she isn’t with Drew any longer. However, he doesn’t know that Willow is the reason that Sasha (Sofia Mattson) had to flee Port Charles to keep baby Daisy safe. If he finds out that Willow was the one sneaking into the Quartermaine mansion and moving Daisy around he probably won’t let her anywhere near Wiley or Amelia even without Drew in her life.

The smart move here would be for Drew to tell Willow she needs to get her own apartment or house so she has a stable home for the kids before she can spend time with them. And, she needs to make sure Drew knows their relationship is over for good. If she can demonstrate that’s getting her independence back, then he could let her see the kids. Some counseling wouldn’t hurt, either.

Michael’s big decision could also have to do with his father, Sonny (Maurice Benard) or with Kristina (Kate Mansi) now that he knows she tried to kill Ava (Maura West). But it’s more likely that the big decision will be whether or not leaving Drew is enough to earn Willow the chance to spend time with her kids again.

No one wants a mother to be separated from her children. However, Willow let Drew change her, and she needs to prove that she can be a calm and stable presence in the kids’ lives before she’s allowed to see them regularly. Hopefully, Michael will make Willow stay away from the kids until he’s sure can put them first.

You’d be hard pressed to find a General Hospital fan that’s not applauding the downfall of Drew (Cameron Mathison) and the end of the dreaded #Drillow. Finally aware that he slept with her mother, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) scolded Drew in an epic showdown on her would-be wedding day and swore to be done with him for good. It may have taken over a year for us to get here, but thankfully, we’ve made it and Willow has woken up.

While we suppose there is always a chance that Drew could manage to sweet-talk Willow back into a reconciliation, we actually think she meant what she said when she professed to being done with the congressman. Sleeping with Nina (Cynthia Watros) was one thing, but manipulating her children (i.e., making sure Wylie [Viron Weaver] heard him stating Michael [Rory Gibson] didn’t want him anymore) placed him in a place there’s no coming back from.

With that being said, and now that Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) is out of the picture, some General Hospital fans believe a reunion is in the cards for Michael and Willow. Since this is the soap world, we certainly can’t rule that out. However, there is so much bad blood between the exes that they’d have to be really committed to doing the hard work and have a love that’s still there to get past all of their transgressions.

We’ve taken the liberty to come up with two of the biggest hurdles to a #Millow reunion, and that starts with Willow herself. In the aftermath of losing custody of her children, Willow stalked Sasha and baby Daisy as payback.

Willow’s actions went so far that she sent Sasha packing, leaving Michael without ready access to his newborn daughter. If Michael were to ever learn that, he’d likely become enraged. Sadly, with Drew having an inkling of Willow’s heinous actions and him being Drew, we can’t rule out that he’ll tell Michael to sabotage a reconciliation.

A second obstacle comes in the form of Mini-Carly, aka Josslyn (Eden McCoy). We’d usually say Mama Bear Carly (Laura Wright) would be strictly opposed to Michael and Willow getting back together, but Carly, at her core, has always liked Willow. She loathes that Willow hurt her son, but Carly was like a mother figure to Willow at one point, and they shared a close bond before Drew.

Carly may have blasted Willow several times when news of the affair broke, even likening Willow to Nelle (Chloe Lanier), but we think Carly always felt bad that Willow allowed herself to be manipulated by Drew. Plus, Carly may not cause too much of a fuss about a possible reunion if she knows it will make her grandchildren happy, and a reunion is done in a truthful and non-toxic manner.

This brings us back to Josslyn. The newly minted WSB agent loves her brother and has scolded Willow more than anyone has. Josslyn is very protective of her brother and may not want to see him go down a path with Willow that sees him hurting again. While soapy affairs aren’t new, and Josslyn herself has cheated in a relationship, Willow cheated with her husband’s uncle, good friend and business partner wrapped in one. That’s pretty low. And Josslyn may love her nephew and niece, but we wouldn’t put it past her to devise a scheme to ensure Michael and Willow become nothing more than good co-parents.

So, are Willow and Michael going to try and reconcile? Would they stand a chance with her secret about Sasha and Daisy out there, or with Josslyn around Port Charles?

The mystery surrounding General Hospital’s Professor Dalton (Daniel Goddard) is starting to unfold now that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is on the case for WSB and Anna (Finola Hughes) has taken an interest in him as leader of the Port Charles Police Department. However, in a twist of fate, it looks like Dalton’s mystery could be closely tied to the reemergence of Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud).

As viewers know, Dalton is working on some kind of project, and his bosses are Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and a yet-to-be-revealed villain. While we still suspect that Sidwell’s partner may be someone like Victor (Charles Shaughnessy), Jax (Sebastian Roché) or Peter (Wes Ramsey), we can’t rule out the very real possibility that Britt works for Sidwell in some capacity, especially given the timing of her resurfacing and her recent travels to France, where Dalton’s courier was headed.

This brings us around to Jason (Steve Burton). He happened to be at the French airport when Britt was boarding a plane, and he spotted her. Although reason is convincing him that he must have been mistaken, as Britt is dead, he can’t ignore his gut telling him that Britt is alive. Considering he was once thought to be dead, he’s further emboldened to dig into this Britt mystery.

During the week of July 28, Jason takes his suspicions about Britt to Anna, and we have a hunch he’ll ask Anna’s guidance on how to pursue this. Unfortunately for him, this could spell trouble.

We can imagine a scenario where it’s revealed that Britt is working for these soap villains unwillingly. Perhaps they are blackmailing her, or maybe they’ve developed an illegal medical process that cured Britt’s Huntington's Disease, and the good doc is being forced to do their bidding as the price of her survival. Either way, she’s in deep with these people.

With that being said, Jack Brennen (Chris McKenna) is determined to learn what nefarious thing Dalton is up to and to lock up all the parties involved. If Britt is involved, then Jack likely wants to go after her as well, whether she’s a willing participant or not.

Knowing Jason, if he finds Britt and learns she’s over her head and being forced to do things against her will, he’d probably try to save her by any means necessary, even if that means messing with Jack’s investigation. And Jack wouldn’t take kindly to more interference from Jason on a case, considering Jason worked with Anna in helping Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) escape for months.

Should our theory ring true, we’re interested to see how Jack plans to stop Jason in a Britt rescue. Jack better not let things get too out of control, as he’d hate to learn that no matter how strong his feelings are for Carly (Laura Wright), she’ll always have Jason’s back and jump to aid him.

It’s official that Kelly Thiebaud is reprising her role as General Hospital’s Dr. Britt Westbourne. She confirmed it, and fans also noticed that Liesel Olbrecht (Kathleen Gati) mysteriously spoke about Britt in the present tense when she talked to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) at the Metro Court pool. She also took a selfie with Rocco (Finn Carr), so maybe that selfie was going to get sent to her daughter?

Even though I’m excited to see a Britch vs Lulu (Alexa Havins) showdown because it will make Lulu absolutely crash out, I don’t want to see Britt rekindle a romance with Jason. Jason’s been through enough, and he deserves better than Britt.

Jason hasn’t been in a relationship with anyone for quite some time. There were some signs that maybe he would start a relationship with Sasha (Sofia Mattson) when he agreed to pretend to be the father of her baby, but that never happened.

There was also the potential for a romance with Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) back in Africa when they kissed during their escape from being held captive by Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). But that turned out to be a dead end also. So he’s been alone for far too long. It’s definitely time for Jason to have a love interest again.

But that love interest shouldn’t be Britt. Their brief relationship never really made sense, and frankly, Jason deserves to be with someone who is a better human being than Britt.

Yes, Jason has done some bad things, and his loyalty to Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Carly (Laura Wright) is disturbing. However, at his core, he’s a good guy who will do anything for his family and the people he loves. He deserves a relationship with a woman who will love him the same way and prioritize his happiness and safety. That’s not Britt.

Faking her death

If Britt really cared about Jason, she would have found a way to let him know she was alive after she was attacked with Heather Webber’s (Alley Mills) poisoned hook. She wouldn’t have let him grieve for her. There may be reasons why it was better for her to be thought to be dead, but if she knew Jason at all, she would know she could trust him to keep her secret. It’s just rude to let him grieve like that.

No doubt she will have all kinds of reasons why she didn’t let him know, but they won’t be good enough. And Liesel dropping that present-tense comment about Britt but not actually telling him she was alive was pretty cruel also. Jason deserves to be with someone who wouldn’t cause him pain on purpose.

Britt only cares about herself

Even though Britt seemed honestly upset when Jason was missing and presumed dead, she is really not capable of the kind of love that Jason deserves. She always puts her own schemes and ambitions first, while Jason puts everyone he loves first.

Jason is loyal to the people he cares about, and Britt is only loyal to herself. Someone like Jason, who will risk his life over and over again for the people he loves, deserves to have a partner who loves him like that and will do anything to protect and help him.

Temu Sam

Britt is the Temu version of Jason’s real true love, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco). Britt is strong, focused, determined, smart and willing to break rules like Sam, but she doesn’t have Sam’s fierce love and loyalty. Sam was the perfect match for Jason because she was also loyal to the people she loved and would do whatever it took to keep them safe.

Even his relationship with Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) was better than his relationship with Britt. Elizabeth is a sweet person who genuinely cared about Jason.

Sam’s death affected Jason in a really deep way, and I’m worried that he’s going to turn to Temu Sam to fill that void since she does have some of the same characteristics that Sam had. But Britt can never fill Sam’s shoes. She doesn’t have the ability to bring Jason out of his shell and show his softer side like Sam had. And no relationship can last when one person always has their guard up.

Jason deserves a good relationship

Jason is so concerned with duty and helping Sonny and the people he loves that he never has the time to develop a real relationship with anyone. Instead, he’s everyone’s beard. He married Carly to help stabilize Sonny’s operation when Sonny was missing. And he was willing to publicly play the father role for Sasha’s baby so that no one would find out Michael (Rory Gibson) was the father. It’s time for Jason to focus on finding his own real, loving relationship.

He was never able to make it work with Sam, but that doesn’t mean the right partner isn’t out there for him. Jason deserves a partner who can handle his criminal associations, roll with the crazy things he does for the people he cares about and love him anyway.

Jason needs a partner who will act as a stabilizing influence and balance out the chaos he lives in. That’s not Britt Westbourne. She’s going to cause more pain. Britt is also very likely to create more messes for Jason to clean up.

Jason deserves better than Britt Westbourne. And I hope they give him a better love interest soon, because he’s been single for way too long.

With the nominees for the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards officially announced, the What to Watch team is counting down to the big day on October 17, looking through the soap categories and offering our take on who should walk away victorious.

I previously offered up my reasons why I think Eileen Davidson is a shoo-in for the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Daytime Drama Series category. Her portrayal of The Young and the Restless' Ashley dealing with dissociative identity disorder and subsequently trying to piece her life back together, even as Martin (Christopher Cousins) continued to torment her family, was brilliant. And as I look to the Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Daytime Drama Series category, I again have to look to the long-running CBS soap.

Now to be clear, this year’s list of nominees all did great jobs in their respective roles. General Hospital’s Kate Mansi had quite the transformative storyline as Kristina in 2024, first losing the surrogate child she was carrying for her sister Molly (Kristen Vaganos), then going toe-to-toe with Molly as the two women argued in grief, before they both lost their big sister Sam (Kelly Monaco).

Days of Our Lives has two actresses hoping to take home a win for supporting actress in Linsey Godfrey and Emily O’Brien. Godfrey did a heck of a job as Sarah Horton, getting run over by her mother-in-law and attempting to recuperate. O’Brien stepped into the role of Theresa Donovan at the tail end of 2023, but fully embraced the part in 2024, making for quite the joy ride as she added her own unique flavor to the dramatic soap character.

Even with such formidable competition in the category, it’s the women of The Young and the Restless who I think it all boils down to. Both Susan Walters, who portrays Diane Abbott, and Courtney Hope, who plays Sally Spectra, delivered performances that were truly standouts in 2024. And it was Hope, who I believe did just enough to edge out her competition. If we’re right about her winning this category again, it would make her a winner in back-to-back years.

I recall watching the tumultuous breakup between Sally and Adam (Mark Grossman) on The Young and the Restless, and I said then that her work on screen was gold hardware-worthy. Hope perfectly struck a balance between visibly showcasing Sally’s heartbreak and fully demonstrating the character’s rage at being betrayed and lied to. Take a look at her unleashing on Adam below (I’m still applauding).

I also have to commend Hope for how she handled Sally’s mending process. Sally realized that Adam was exactly who people warned her he was, and had to wrestle with the fact that she ended things with Nick (Joshua Morrow) for the younger Newman.

Plus, she was left trying to move on from Adam, falling into the arms of Billy (Jason Thompson). While in the present, we’re well beyond the eligibility period for the 2025 Daytime Emmys, I can’t help but desire seeing more of the fierce Sally in future episodes.

Now I’d be remiss if I didn’t bring up my theory that there’s a slight possibility the supporting actress category ends in a tie. Although we think Hope will capture the trophy, she could wind up sharing it with Walters.

Walters had some stellar moments in 2024 as Diane, whether that be unleashing on Jack (Peter Bergman) for purposefully relapsing for Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) benefit, pretending to fallout with with Jack for Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) sake or having the tough conversations with Kyle as he wrestled with his past trauma, Walters’ Diane scenes were must-watch.

So, who do you think will take home this year’s supporting actress Emmy? Will it be Hope or someone else?

Finally! The worst-kept secret in Port Charles is finally out as General Hospital’s Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) has learned about Nina (Cynthia Watros) and Drew (Cameron Mathison) sleeping together before she got involved with the loathsome congressman.

Curtis (Donnell Turner) spilled the beans to Willow before she walked down the aisle to marry Drew, hoping Willow would end things with Drew and Drew would pack up and move to Washington, DC. Considering she spends the end of the July 25 episode walking down the aisle of the church, I can’t say whether she’ll break up with Drew for good or not. I’m holding out hope that this spells the end of #Drillow, but her thinking is so warped these days, she may marry him if she believes it will help win her kids back in court.

Now, before Willow actually started walking down the aisle in her wedding dress, she had the ultimate showdown with Nina in a room in the back of the church. MacMullen offered some great scenes as Willow, blasting her bio mom for holding this salacious secret for over a year. Willow blamed Nina for watching as she destroyed her marriage and family by falling for a man who had been lying to her from the beginning. She even blamed Nina for losing custody of her children to Michael (Rory Gibson).

In an especially gut-wrenching scene, Willow claimed to be envious of Nelle (Chloe Lanier), who was fortunate enough to go to her grave not knowing Nina was her biological mother. Talk about an “ouch moment.” Before Nina slunk off in tears, Willow made it crystal clear that she was done with Nina and wanted nothing more to do with her.

This all brings me to my point. Although Nina was sobbing in tears, knowing she hurt her only living child and realizing Willow may never speak to her again, I don’t feel bad for her. The Crimson Magazine editor has had ample opportunity to tell Willow the truth.

She could have told her daughter about her romps in the hay with Drew way back when Willow first expressed an interest in Drew and kissed him. Nina could have also shared the truth with Willow any time before she officially divorced Michael. Heck, Nina revealing the truth could have spared Willow a painful custody hearing, one she lost.

What doesn’t help my callous feelings toward Nina is the fact that she didn’t learn a lesson from her marriage to Sonny (Maurice Benard). That relationship imploded because Nina kept lying instead of being honest. They’d arguably still be together if she realized that most people don’t like being lied to, no matter how hard the truth is to receive.

Perhaps if Nina is subjected to more cruelty from Willow, I’ll find an ounce of sympathy for her. But for now, I’m just shrugging my shoulders. On a final note, do you think like I do that Willow may be headed for a stint in Ferncliff?

Weeks ago, when General Hospital’s Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) lost custody of her kids, we suspected something snapped within her mentally. She collapsed in the courtroom, arrived at the hospital not speaking and understandably was overwhelmed with sadness. It was as if a light within her went out. Then came the whole Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) and baby Daisy situation.

Willow spent days gaslighting Sasha, making her believe that Daisy was in danger. Willow exacerbated the situation so badly that Sasha took her newborn and had Jason (Steve Burton) escort her out of town to Robert’s (Tristan Rogers).

Then, when Willow learned of Sasha’s departure, it was Dr. Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) who noticed that Willow had the biggest sinister smile plastered on her face. Willow’s great-aunt told Nina (Cynthia Watros) something was wrong with her daughter, but Nina casually dismissed the concerns.

Fast forward to the July 24 General Hospital episode, and in a last-ditch effort to bring down Drew (Cameron Mathison), Curtis (Donnell Turner) told Willow that before she and Drew became an item, the congressman was sleeping with her mother. Willow later confronts Nina with this news in the episode airing on July 25, moments before Willow is to wed Drew.

When you combine the fact that Willow has lost her kids and is desperate to get them back, she stalked Sasha and Daisy, she recently learned from Portia (Brook Kerr) that Drew is capable of dubious blackmail and now she is aware her mother slept with Drew over a year ago, Willow may soon go off the deep end.

We recently suggested there was a chance she may follow in Nelle (Chloe Lanier) and Nina’s footsteps and resort to kidnapping, taking her children and running off. When she realizes she destroyed her life, losing custody of her children for Drew, she might do what she feels she has to in order to rectify the situation.

Whether Willow resorts to kidnapping or not, we can’t help but think her mental health is in an all-time fragile state, even more fragile than when she was being manipulated by Shiloh (Coby Ryan McLaughlin). We think she’ll soon find herself at the Ferncliff Asylum to get the help she’ll need.

Should our hunch prove correct, then we believe in good soapy fashion, while she’s getting help in the mental health facility, she’ll run into someone familiar. A person from General Hospital’s past. If we had to guess, this person could be someone like Nelle.

Yes, Nelle is thought to be dead. However, characters returning from the dead is hardly rare in daytime, look at Jason and Britt (Kelly Thiebaud). It could be rather entertaining to see Willow come face-to-face with Nelle, who may be in the facility under another alias.

And can you imagine these two catching up and realizing they both lost custody of their children thanks to Michael (Rory Gibson)? Furthermore, these two teaming up to unleash havoc on Michael’s life in revenge could provide for some great TV moments.

Additionally, would you be up for a Carly (Laura Wright) vs Nelle showdown part two? Carly wouldn’t know what hit her.

General Hospital’s Drew (Cameron Mathison) and Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) certainly don’t have a fan club over here. Like many viewers of the soap, we find their relationship revolting and exhausting, and can’t wait until the #Drillow train comes to an end. Along those lines, we’ll be happy to see Drew’s overall downfall as he’s become the most infuriating character in all of daytime.

Anyway, at the moment, the couple remains committed to each other, and they’re taking their steps to walk down the aisle during the week of July 21.

Despite Nina (Cynthia Watros) trying to caution her daughter about taking such a step, Michael (Rory Gibson) reiterating that marrying Drew will further strain their co-parenting arrangement and Portia (Brook Kerr) revealing to Willow that Drew is blackmailing her, nothing seems to be deterring Willow from her pending nuptials.

Now, there’s always the possibility that Nina could finally do what she should have done months ago and confess to sleeping with Drew before Drew turned his attention to Willow. However, she's been holding onto that secret for over a year, and she even betrayed Sonny (Maurice Benard) to keep it, so we can’t count on her to be brave enough now.

To be clear, we aren’t saying the wedding will go off without a hitch and Drew and Willow will sail off into the sunset in marital bliss. After all, this is the soap world. With that being said, we can imagine their wedding leading to something big. Something shocking. If we had to guess, we’re talking about a kidnapping.

We can’t forget that Willow was just stalking baby Daisy. So if someone is going to be doing the abducting here, it’s a strong chance it’s her.

Perhaps Nina actually does tell Willow about her own romps in the hay with Drew, and that makes Willow snap. Maybe she comes to realize she’s thrown her whole life away for Drew, not knowing who he really is. Desperate to regain some control, she seeks out her kids at the Quartermaines and kidnaps them, fleeing from town. Considering both her mother and sister have committed kidnapping before, Willow may join the family tradition.

However, allow us to propose the idea that Willow abducts no one, but she is abducted. Since arriving back in Port Charles, Dr. Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) has been the only one to see just how bad of shape Willow is in and wants to actually take steps to help her. Considering Obrecht tends to be a bit unconventional in her methods to “help,” we’re considering the possibility that she kidnaps Willow to save her.

Let’s say Obrecht does kidnap Willow, before or after the wedding. Well, we think Obrecht could stash her at the infamous Ferncliff Asylum to get the psychological assistance she desperately needs. Willow likely wouldn’t be appreciative at first, but she may come to realize that her great-aunt just wants to stop this downward spiral.

Of course, a kidnapping storyline hasn’t been confirmed. We just have a theory that a kidnapping is on the horizon.

When General Hospital’s Leslie Charleson unfortunately passed away back in January of this year, many longtime fans were saddened that they’d no longer see her character, Dr. Monica Quartermaine, walking the floors of the Quartermaine mansion or the halls of the hospital. In that vein, we wondered how the powers that be at the soap would honor her legacy and give the Monica character a fitting sendoff.

Again, Charleson passed in January, and it’s now July, but General Hospital has not yet addressed Monica’s fate. In fact, whenever Monica is brought up, she’s said to be upstairs in her bedroom. However, did General Hospital just drop a clue that Monica’s farewell is on the way?

In the episode that aired on July 22, Martin (Michael E. Knight) was alone in Drew’s (Cameron Mathison) living room when he stumbled upon a drawing. But flipping over the drawing, he saw the masterpiece was created on an envelope addressed to Monica.

When Martin asked Drew about it, the congressman just assumed Wylie (Viron Weaver) and Amelia (Sequoia & Serenity Mork Macko) took scrap paper from the Quartermaine mansion and colored all over it. Drew didn’t concern himself with it any further and left Martin to open the envelope and read the letter inside. Not much is known about the contents of the letter by the time the episode concludes, other than it’s from someone who Monica hasn’t been in contact with for quite some time.

With all that being said, fans will recall that Daytime Emmy Award-winning actress Erika Slezak is slated to make her big debut on General Hospital soon. In recent days, rumors have swirled about the possibility that Slezak is preparing to premiere on the ABC soap as Monica’s long-lost sister. Should that be true, things could get rather interesting.

Let’s say the soap is gearing up for Monica’s heartfelt goodbye. We can imagine a scenario in which Slezak makes her entrance onto the scene around the time of Monica’s funeral, and it’s revealed that the letter Martin read is the first of many correspondences between the sisters. Then, shortly after the funeral and at the reading of the will, the Quartermaines become shocked to learn that Monica left the house to her sister. That’s the kind of bombshell news that would send Tracy (Jane Elliot) spiraling.

For years now, she’s had to swallow the fact that her brother and parents died, and the house was left to Monica. She would be furious to learn that after Monica passes, the house goes to Monica’s sister, a woman she doesn’t really know. Given Tracy’s cantankerous history, she’d likely make sure Monica’s sister knew just how unhappy she was.

But hey, let’s say Monica doesn’t leave the house to her sister, but to Jason (Steve Burton) instead. If Jason inherits the home and Monica’s sister decides to stay in town for a while, he’d likely welcome her into the mansion. Again, Tracy isn’t a people person, so she might still clash with Monica’s sister. Tracy may plead with Jason to toss Monica’s sister out of the home, but Jason wouldn’t do that, especially having lost Monica. Tracy would just have to live uncomfortably under the Quartermaine roof.

While all of this is largely rooted in theory, we can’t help but hope Slezak is portraying Monica’s sister and becomes a sparring partner for Tracy. Slezak and Elliot are two soap legends, so they’d probably put on quite the entertaining display.

Welp, another General Hospital skeleton has fallen out of the metaphorical closet. In the episode that aired on July 21, Anna (Finola Hughes) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) pieced together that Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) is a WSB agent and is investigating Professor Dalton (Daniel Goddard). While Dante was shocked at the thought, thinking of Josslyn as his “little sister,” incapable of being a spy, Anna believed Josslyn made the perfect recruit for Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna).

As the two Port Charles cops further unpacked Josslyn’s newfound career, they tossed around the idea of telling Carly (Laura Wright) about her daughter’s profession. Anna and Dante ultimately decided it was best not to loop in the Metro Court owner, as Carly would likely blow Josslyn’s cover and wreck the Dalton investigation. Anna may not trust Jack, but she vouched for him as an agent and surmised that the Dalton investigation is incredibly important.

Then came the statement that gave us pause. Anna claimed Jack was determined to nail Dalton for whatever wrongdoing he’s guilty of, no matter what it takes, and that prompted Dante to ask a question. Dante asked, "So you think he’ll [Jack] stop Dalton under any circumstances, even if that means sacrificing an agent?"

That question, combined with the foreboding music, makes us believe that Josslyn may soon find herself in a life-or-death situation. Will Dalton learn that Josslyn’s an agent and report back to Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and his mystery partner? Will Sidwell then order Josslyn to be eliminated? We certainly think this scenario lies in the realm of possibility.

If Josslyn finds herself in danger, she may need someone to come help rescue her. This could-be hero could be Vaughn (Bryce Durfee), as he is the one who trained her and works most closely with her. However, we also can’t rule out the prospect that Anna will rely on her former WSB training to save Josslyn. Heck, for that matter, Dante is a former agent, so he could help save Carly’s mini-me.

One thing we know for sure is that if Josslyn has a brush with death because of the WSB and Carly hears about it, the new Spencer matriarch is bound to become enraged. She’d probably end her romance with Jack and may even go so far as to plot revenge against him.

What started out as General Hospital’s Anna (Finola Hughes) looking out for her granddaughter, Emma (Braedyn Bruner), is slowly morphing into Port Charles’ top cop trying to see what the WSB is up to.

From the moment Professor Dalton (Daniel Goddard) arrived in town and it appeared he and Emma were drawn to each other (in a non-romantic capacity on Emma’s end), Anna made it her mission to learn more about Dalton, feeling there was something suspicious about him. Anna also believes that Dalton is somehow tied to the trouble Emma found herself in while in California.

Trying to get to the bottom of things, Anna first went to Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna). She hoped her former WSB colleague would give her some insight into Dalton and inform her if the agency was looking into the professor. Unfortunately for her, Jack shut her line of questioning down and dismissed her as an overly concerned grandmother. That, of course, did nothing but make Anna even more suspicious.

She then turned to Jason (Steve Burton) and asked him to use his resources to do some digging into Dalton for the sake of not only Emma, but Josslyn (Eden McCoy) too, as she was now working for him. Jason loves Carly (Laura Wright) and all of her kids, so he was more than ready to grant Anna’s request.

Fast forward to the General Hospital episode airing on July 18, and Anna tasked Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) to look into Vaughn (Bryce Durfee). Knowing the newcomer has been hanging with Emma and Josslyn and having done a background check on him, only for it to come clean, Anna had Dante follow him.

It just so happens, Dante followed Vaughn as he and Josslyn were following Dalton’s contact, which led the two cops to correctly assume that Vaughn is a WSB agent and that Josslyn is likely one as well. Especially, since Carly filled Anna in on what she knows about Josslyn’s Easter Island trip and Josslyn’s dynamic with Vaughn.

With all that being said, we suspect the deeper Anna goes into this rabbit hole about the WSB, Vaughn and Josslyn, the more likely Anna may discover how Josslyn became a WSB agent. And if that happens, Anna certainly would stumble across the unsolved murder of Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).

Viewers will recall that Josslyn murdered the deranged criminal in part in self-defense, but largely because she was so enraged that he killed Dex (Evan Hofer). After doing the deed, instead of calling Jason or her mother, Josslyn called Jack to help her cover up the crime. He then prompted her to sign up for the WSB, which she did. So is Anna able to connect all the dots and suspect Josslyn killed Cyrus? Just maybe.

If so, what would that mean for Josslyn? Could she find herself in the hot seat and under investigation? That’s certainly possible, but Anna would probably need to get a confession out of Josslyn to prove anything, as Jack had Cyrus’ body and the evidence “taken care of.”

Call me excited, because if Kelly Thiebaud is reprising her role as Britt Westbourne on General Hospital, then Lulu (Alexa Havins) may finally get the humbling she deserves.

We don’t know yet if Britt will be revived from the dead or if Thiebaud will be playing an entirely new character, maybe one that’s related to Britt. But in the past, Britt Westbourne was one of the few characters who was a match for Lulu.

Now that Lulu is having big feelings about Rocco (Finn Carr) finding out that Britt Westbourne was his birth mother (though not biological mother), she may lose if Britt, or someone that resembles her, suddenly reappears in Port Charles.

The Britch

Newer viewers may not remember the Britch, but anyone who has watched the show for years will definitely remember one of the best bad girls in the show’s history. Britt Westbourne is the daughter of supervillains Cesar Faison (Anders Hove) and Dr. Liesel Obrecht (Kathleen Gati), so being an awful person runs in the family.

While working at the hospital, she was given the nickname "the Britch" by Felix (Marc Samuelson) because she is so manipulative and will do anything to get what she wants. And what she wanted was a child, so she stole one of Lulu’s embryos. Her mother implanted the embryo, and Britt gave birth to Rocco, although she called him Benjamin. In Lulu’s current mental state, if she finds out Britt is alive, it’s almost certain that she will confront Britt.

Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) tried to take Lulu on but failed, and it ended up making her relationship with Gio (Gio Mazzara) worse. But if anyone can truly knock Lulu off her high horse, it’s the Britch.

Lulu has it coming

I know Lulu’s been through a lot, and some people argue that she deserves some peace. But until she stops sticking her nose in everyone’s business but her own, Lulu isn’t going to stop messing up other people’s lives. She needs to be taken down a few pegs by someone who can pierce the armor of self-righteousness she uses to justify her actions.

Even if she did have a right to try and find information that would have helped her find Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez), she had no right to blow up Brook Lynn’s life with the help of info she stumbled upon. It wasn’t her secret to tell, and it wasn’t her place to insist that Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) be told.

Knowing that her own closet wasn’t clean, Lulu should have kept her mouth shut. Now, her own secret that she kept from her child is blowing up her life, and she’s more concerned with punishing Brook Lynn and feeling sorry for herself than she is about making sure that Rocco is ok. Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) is the one who was looking through files he shouldn’t have been, but no one has mentioned his role in this chaos.

If Britt is back, it will be interesting to see what would happen if Rocco wants to develop a relationship with Britt. Lulu would definitely not be ok with that, but what if it was in Rocco’s best interest? Would she be able to put aside her hatred of Britt and allow her to have some part in Rocco’s life? Rocco isn’t a baby anymore, so she and Dante may not even get a say in who Rocco has in his life.

Karma is accountability

I was willing to give Lulu a pass on some things because of what she’s been through, but she really crossed a line by blowing Brook Lynn’s secret wide open and making it public. It’s outrageous that she would claim the moral high ground and say that she would never lie to her son while keeping from him that he had another mother and another name for his first year of life.

Brook Lynn still has some empathy, which is why she didn’t use the file she got revealing Britt was Rocco’s birth mother. It’s not her fault that Danny found it and couldn’t keep his mouth shut.

Port Charles needs a female supervillain again

The men are having all the fun when it comes to getting to play the villains. Drew (Cameron Mathison), Sidwell (Carlo Rota) and the original Port Charles villain Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) have been running Port Charles for too long.

It’s about time to have another female villain hatching plots and calling the shots in Port Charles. And no one plays a villain better than Kelly Thiebaud. I’m excited to see the mess she’s going to cause, especially for Lulu.

The powers that be have announced the nominees for the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards, and I’m feeling a myriad of emotions. While I’m shocked that The Bold and the Beautiful has been shut out of the main soap categories and disappointed that The Young and the Restless’ Melody Thomas Scott and Colleen Zenk were both snubbed for the respective portrayals as Nikki and Jordan, I still find myself thrilled to see the list of nominees, especially when I feel as if the nomination was completely deserved.

That brings me the nominations for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress. Although I wish Scott were added to the number, every actress in the category is deserving of a nomination.

Sharon Case and Michelle Stafford were phenomenal on The Young and the Restless during the eligible nominating period, portraying Sharon and Phyllis wrestling with the death of Heather (Vail Bloom), the torment by Jordan and Ian (Ray Ward) and the then the kidnapping at the hands of Martin (Christopher Cousins).

Also from The Young and the Restless, Melissa Claire Egan did a dynamite job portraying Chelsea, a mother struggling to help her son cope with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and a girlfriend wrestling with feelings for two men at the time.

Over in the land of General Hospital, Nancy Lee Grahn and Laura Wright (who respectively play Alexis and Carly on the soap) definitely earned their applause and rave reviews. Alexis has had to deal with a lot, including the death of her daughter, Sam (Kelly Monaco), and trying to help her other daughters and grandchildren adjust to such a loss.

And Carly has had to suffer through almost losing another child, while fiercely taking on Drew (Cameron Mathison), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) for the sake of her grandchildren. Plus, it’s been nice to see Carly transform into the de facto Spencer matriarch.

With all that being said though, my money for the winner of this year’s Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress category is The Young and the Restless’ Eileen Davidson.

From the moment Davidson’s character Ashley kicked off her dissociative identity disorder (DID), I’ve been nothing short of impressed by the range of talent Davidson used in not only portraying Ashley, but the other personalities of her psyche as well. Right before viewers' eyes, she morphed from a confused and terrified Ashley to a wildly flirtatious Belle to a naive Ash to an assertive and ruthless Ms. Abbott. I can’t say I can recall any actress from any soap playing four different personalities.

Then I was completely riveted watching Ashley come to grips with her fragile mental health state and her having to face off with the spark of her mental torment, Martin. Not only did Ashley have to come face-to-face with him in Paris the night Alan (Christopher Cousins) died, but she also had to confront Martin in Genoa City as he pretended to be Alan and in love with Traci (Beth Maitland).

I’ve been so enamored with Ashley’s story that I’ve actually missed her in her long hiatus in France. Not for nothing, CBS still hasn’t gone into the childhood weeds as to what originally caused her DID. Martin may have prompted her different personalities to emerge, but as our psychology research and even the soap suggested, Ashley’s DID originated in childhood. What could have happened to her that viewers have yet to learn? I’m hoping that’s something that’s explored in future episodes.

When news broke that Kelly Thiebaud was returning to General Hospital, many fans wondered how she would reappear.

During her previous time on the soap, she portrayed Dr. Britt Westbourne. However, the character was killed thanks to Heather (Alley Mills) and her toxic hook. If Britt is set to return, there’s likely some wild story as to why her death has been faked. Not for nothing, if Britt is back from the dead, she’d hardly be the first person on the soap to be brought back to life. Heck, look at Jason (Steve Burton).

Well, it looks as if we won’t have to wait any longer to know if Thiebaud is returning as Britt or someone new, as the actress makes her official return in the General Hospital episode airing on July 18. Regardless of the character she’ll portray, we’re starting to wonder if she’s the infamous courier mentioned by Sidwell (Carlo Rota).

During the General Hospital episode from July 14, Sidwell met with Dalton (Daniel Goddard) and scolded the professor for his lack of progress in their secret mission. Specifically, Sidwell stated, "Our mutual friend is growing impatient, and neither of us is happy about your progress. He’s sending a courier next week to get some answers about what is taking so long. Now, if you don’t have them, there’ll be hell to pay."

So again, could Thiebaud be the carrier? It would seem as if the timing of the courier’s arrival and her first appearance align more or less. If our hunch proves correct, then things could get interesting in Port Charles. Furthermore, if she proves to be the courier, then we once more have to question who Sidwell’s partner is.

While we suspect Sidwell could be working with Jerry Jax (Sebastian Roché), who has been in the wind for years now, there are also those who suspect the partner is Victor Cassadie (Charles Shaughnessy), who is believed to be dead.

Additionally, if Thiebaud turns out to be Britt and she is the courier, then we’re going to consider the possibility that Sidwell’s partner could be her villainous brother, Peter August (Wes Ramsey). Peter is another one presumed dead after Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) hit him over the head with a tire iron, but as history has shown, death is not always final in the soaps.

All in all, it looks like we’ll have to keep watching General Hospital to satisfy our curiosity about Thiebaud and Sidwell’s mystery partner.

With each week that passes by and General Hospital’s Drew (Cameron Mathison) is not brought to his knees in humility, I grow more agitated and exhausted by the character.

Across all the daytime soaps in the US, Drew is by far the most infuriating to watch. He has absolutely no redeeming qualities, and he seems determined to outdo himself in sinking to newer lows and launching even more despicable schemes.

Heck, during the week of July 14, he literally ordered Portia (Brook Kerr) to make it appear that Michael (Rory Gibson) has an opioid addiction. As if it weren’t bad enough that Drew slept with his nephew's wife and led Michael’s son to believe he wasn’t wanted, Drew now wants to inflict further damage on him. What’s extra twisted about all of this is the fact that Drew thinks he’s playing a hero, doing this all for Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). (Even writing this, I find myself literally shaking my head.)

When you add that Drew slept with Willow’s mother and never told her, Drew is blackmailing Portia and he’s trying to destroy Sonny (Maurice Benard) for no other reason than Drew is egotistical and can’t stand that people in town love the Dimpled Kingpin, I’m joining a band of fans ready to cheer for Drew’s downfall. And to be clear, I’m just talking about the character, not the actor Mathison, who, all in all, is doing a great job portraying a villain.

Back to frustration with Drew. Talking to a colleague today, I thought back to the last time I was actively waiting on pins and needles to see a character’s demise. And then it hit me, it was Game of Thrones’ Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson).

For those of you who aren’t as familiar, Joffrey was a spoiled, bratty and intolerable teenage king who enjoyed torturing people just because he could. Causing public embarrassment appeared to be his favorite pastime. He also had blood on his hands, ordering the murder of more than a few characters. The teen was so vile, I admittedly cheered when he got what was coming to him and was poisoned.

As crazy as this next statement may sound, I think I find Drew more loathsome than Joffrey. Yes, to my recollection, Drew hasn’t killed anyone or ordered that they be tortured necessarily. However, unlike Joffrey, Drew is a grown man and conceivably knows the difference between right and wrong, as he wasn’t always like this.

There was a time when Drew was seen as the “good” twin when it came to him and Jason (Steve Burton). Since Drew had a barometer of good and evil at one point, where Joffery didn’t, given his upbringing, I’d argue Drew’s antics are more heinous.

Additionally, it’s hard to look at Drew knowing his level of manipulation has zero boundaries. Joffrey may have been a pain to innocent children who weren’t caught up in the fight for the iron throne, but as a grown man, Drew is not above using kids as pawns, regardless of how that may impact them.

Oh, and I can’t forget that Drew is grown with the temperament of a prepubescent boy. The man has literally whined about Jason getting “everything” and has thrown temper tantrums about Michael being perceived as the golden boy of Port Charles.

On a final note, while there are plenty of people who may disagree with me and label Joffrey more of a monster than Drew, you’d be hard pressed to find a General Hospital viewer who isn’t sick of the congressman.

Is General Hospital’s Curtis (Donnell Turner) about to do what should have been done months (really a year) ago? If the hints dropped in the episode that aired on July 16 are any indication, then yep!

In the episode, Nina (Cynthia Watros) popped up at his Aurora office, claiming she wanted to join the “Anti-Sonny” bandwagon. He quickly surmised that her desire wasn’t of her own free will and blamed Drew (Cameron Mathison) for pressuring her. While he was correct that she was being pressured, she claimed it was someone else pulling the strings this time. As viewers know, the puppeteer in this case is Tracy (Jane Elliot), who is threatening to out Nina and Drew’s love affair if Nina doesn’t do her bidding.

While Curtis listened to Nina talk about not wanting to do anything to alienate Sonny again, and her apologies for roping Portia (Brook Kerr) further into a toxic dynamic with Drew, Curtis flashed back to a previous conversation he had with Nina in which she disclosed she slept with Drew shortly before the congressman pivoted his attention to her daughter.

Before the episode ends, Curtis develops this curious expression on his face and says, "Sometimes Nina, you have to betray a friend. It never feels good, but when you have no other choice, sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do."

Although she thinks he’s comforting her about betraying Sonny again, we think he was giving her a fair warning that he was going to publicly out her messy love affair with Drew. And while we usually don’t cosign a friend being disloyal, we’re in full support of this bombshell revelation making its rounds across Port Charles.

Curtis is desperate to humble Drew, tired of the manipulative hold the congressman has over his wife and the impact that’s having on his family. After the Jacinda plan didn’t work, outing Nina and Drew is the only card Curtis has left to play in an attempt to damage Drew’s credibility. Oh, and Nina should understand Curtis’ perspective since she outed the paternity of Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) baby in open court for the sake of Willow (Katelyn MacMullen).

If our hunch is correct, we’re sad to say that even if the truth is revealed, we still think Willow would stick beside Drew. He has such an unhealthy hold on her that we wouldn’t be surprised if he’s able to dismiss the public outing as lies. Heck, if not that, Drew may shift the blame on Nina, and Willow could claim she wants nothing more to do with Nina for the umpteenth time.

We’ll say it again. We can’t stand Drew and we're eagerly waiting for his epic downfall. Unfortunately, while Curtis outing Nina and Drew may deflate Drew’s ego a bit, we’re not sure it will crush him like the roach he is in Port Charles.

General Hospital’s Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Sidwell (Carlo Rota) may be warring mobsters, Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) a baby stalker and future kidnapper, Drew (Cameron Mathison) the most infuriating person in all of daytime, but make no mistake about it. Tracy Quartermaine (Jane Elliot) is a menace, no matter how funny her zingers may be.

The Quartermaine matriarch constantly pushes the buttons of her enemies, butts in the business of her relatives and carries herself as the moral superiority of Port Charles, despite her problematic history. Understandably, her cantankerous attitude doesn’t necessarily gain her a lot of friends, and in the General Hospital episode that aired on July 15, she acquired one more foe — Nina (Cynthia Watros).

After calling Nina over to the Quartermaine estate for a chat, Tracy quickly put pleasantries aside and blackmailed the Crimson editor-in-chief into publicly bashing Sonny in the press. Tracy is determined to rid Port Charles of Sonny, claiming she’s doing it to protect her family. However, she’s blind to the fact that people like Sidwell likely present a greater danger, especially since Sidwell has a mysterious business partner.

Oh, and how did Tracy blackmail Nina? Tracy finally revealed that she knew about Nina sleeping with Drew before the congressman started hooking up with her daughter. The revelation gobsmacked Nina, but she relented to doing Tracy’s bidding, fearful that Willow would disown her should this “secret” be revealed. (We have strong feelings about Tracy waiting until now to weaponize this secret and even stronger feelings about Nina continuing to hide this secret from Willow, but we digress.)

Having said all of this, we couldn’t help but notice that before the aforementioned episode ended, Nina stated of Tracy, “You just messed with the wrong b*tch.” Nina’s history shows she never takes being railroaded lightly, and always launches a plan of revenge against those conducting the train. So we can’t help but think she’ll soon go after Tracy.

If our hunch is correct, then we suspect that Nina will go after Tracy by finding a way to strip her of Deception. Not only would it be a blow to Tracy, but it would be a twist of irony considering how Tracy came to gain a controlling interest in the business. Thankfully for Nina, not only does she have the money to probably make this happen, but she also has a powerful friend in Martin (Michael E. Knight), who also wants to take Tracy down for all the chaos she’s unleashed in his life.

Now again, Nina’s history shows she likes revenge, but she’s not always good at it. She often moves without considering the consequences of her actions, and there are usually some innocent people who get caught in the crosshairs. In this case, we can picture Maxie (Kirsten Storms) being caught in the fallout.

Let’s not forget that there was the recent revelation from Natalia (Eva LaRue) that some of Sonny’s “questionable funds” got mixed into Deception. Should Nina hire Martin to dig up some dirt on Tracy, and he learns this information with the help of a forensic accountant, Martin may go ahead and pass this information to law enforcement or leak it to the press without consulting Nina first. This, in turn, could lead to the end of Deception not just for Tracy, but for Maxie and Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) as well.

If Deception does come to an end and devastates Maxie, Nina may claim she didn’t know Martin would take what he learned and run with it, but Maxie may still find herself upset that Nina put this all into motion.

This is all speculative at this point, but as entertaining as Tracy is, even we are anticipating her being fed some humble pie, sooner rather than later.

In a plot twist we certainly didn’t see coming, in the General Hospital episode that aired on July 14, it was revealed that Sidwell (Carlo Rota) has a yet-to-be-revealed partner.

Before Sidwell readied himself to accept sympathies and support his son at Natalia’s (Eva LaRue) funeral ceremony at the church, he met with Professor Dalton (Daniel Goddard).

During their conversation, Sidwell stated, “Our mutual friend is growing impatient, and neither of us is happy about your progress. He’s sending a courier next week to get some answers about what is taking so long. Now, if you don’t have them, there’ll be hell to pay.”

Who knew Sidwell had another partner in his big plot? Right away, we started to think who Sidwell could be in cahoots with, and one name came to mind — Jerry Jax (Sebastian Roché).

For a while now, we’ve questioned Sidwell’s unrelenting interest in taking over Port Charles. He’s an international criminal with seemingly no connections to Port Charles, and yet, he wants control of the town for his criminal enterprise, even willing to go up against Sonny (Maurice Benard) to do that. We initially speculated that he had some unknown personal ties to town (like he was a Cassadine or Sonny’s long-lost brother), but none of that has been confirmed. However, if Sidwell’s business partner is Jerry, that starts to make sense.

Jerry has a complicated and villainous history with Port Charles. We’re talking kidnapping, armed robbery and attempted murder (on several occasions), just to name a few of his criminal acts. His evil deeds have literally touched every family in town, and he actually has a family member of his own still around. We’re of course talking about his niece Josslyn (Eden McCoy).

Mini Carly brings us to another reason why Sidwell’s partner being Jerry makes sense. When Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) was determined to recruit Josslyn into the WSB, we couldn’t figure out why. Although the picture is now clearer, as Jack assigned Josslyn the task of investigating Professor Dalton at the very school she attends, perhaps Jack’s interest in Josslyn also stems from her connection with Sidwell’s “secret” partner, her uncle. With Jack being a leader in the WSB, we wouldn’t be surprised if he already knows the identity of Sidwell’s associate, but has remained tight-lipped about it.

Adding to all of this, we can’t forget that Jerry loathes Sonny. It’s easy to see that hatred being transferred onto Sidwell, because Sidwell previously had no real gripes with Sonny to try and kill him on numerous occasions (even that whole diamonds debacle isn’t a good enough reason).

With all that being said, should General Hospital viewers be preparing themselves for a Jerry return? Not for nothing, back in February, Roché did an interview with US Weekly, and while on the topic of a General Hospital return he stated, “Never say never.”

It shouldn’t be lost on any General Hospital viewer that Carly (Laura Wright) recently begged Sonny (Maurice Benard) not to escalate the tension with Sidwell (Carlo Rota).

After Kristina (Kate Mansi) was caught in the fire at Charlie’s and Lucas (Van Hansis) went to his big sister to plead Marco’s (Adrian Anchondo) case, Carly went to Sonny and cautioned him to handle this mob threat differently. The Metro Court owner evoked all the past mob-related tragedies involving his children and warned him to be "better" this go-around in handling his enemy.

Although Sonny took his ex’s words under advisement, judging by the following preview clip, it appears that the Dimpled Kingpin decides to do things his way and kidnap Marco. Not only that, but it seems Sonny even goes to Sidwell to talk about what’s “fair game.”

To be honest, we can’t say we blame Sonny here. Sidwell has been gunning for Sonny for months and has nearly killed two of his children. Also, it’s not like the Port Charles Police Department has been helpful in solving these crimes or preventing further attacks. The Corinthos patriarch is just a man trying to protect his family, and authorities have left him practically no choice but to take action on the Sidwell front.

With that being said, Sonny kidnapping Marco will most assuredly elicit a strong response from Sidwell. Marco is Sidwell’s only child. So what might Sidwell do?

If we had to guess, considering Sidwell has proven to have an affinity for explosives, he may venture to blow up Sonny’s piers. Although Sidwell would like to ultimately acquire the piers for himself, he is a man with a big ego, and we wouldn’t be shocked if he’d rather watch them burn just to prove a point to Sonny. This, of course, could mean an innocent bystander may find themselves at the wrong place at the wrong time and caught in the explosion. But Sidwell likely wouldn’t care.

However, should Sidwell venture from his usual form of villainy, then he may retaliate against Sonny by kidnapping a Corinthos heir. Considering Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna) warned Sidwell not to do anything to Carly or her loved ones, Sidwell might leave her children and grandchildren with Sonny alone. If so, then this could spell bad news for Kristina, Avery (Ava & Grace Scarola), Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Gio (Giovanni Mazza).

Now, Sidwell likely won’t target Kristina because she was just caught in the fire at Charlie’s, and he wasn’t pleased his lackey made the error in setting fire to the pub while she was there. He also probably won’t go after Avery, given her age. And though he isn’t stupid enough to kidnap a cop, he is probably unhinged enough to kidnap a cop’s son, which leads us to Gio.

Let’s not forget that Tracy (Jane Elliot) has been warning Gio about Sonny and the danger he brings. Plus, Sonny recently cautioned Gio about hanging around him until this Sidwell issue is dealt with. Have the warnings been foreshadowing danger to come for the violinist?

Should Gio find himself in danger, we secretly hope it’s Brook Lynn (Amanda Setton) who comes to his rescue. Her saving his life would probably go a long way in repairing their fractured mother/son relationship.

For the last few months on General Hospital, Sonny (Maurice Benard) has largely been focusing on his health and his family. His heart condition and the attack on the penthouse that injured Michael (Rory Gibson) made it necessary for Sonny to step back and rearrange his priorities.

But his enemies didn’t take time off, and now Sonny is about to go to war, old-school style, with Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota). Sonny’s position in Port Charles is in danger on all fronts, and he’s going to need to make a big show of force to keep the empire he’s spent his life building.

Sidwell is a worthy opponent

Sidwell may be a match for Port Charles’ resident organized crime boss. He has deep pockets and an international reach. He lives on an island like a cartoon villain, and he really wants the piers where Sonny currently does business.

What makes Sidwell particularly dangerous for Sonny is his connections. In a criminal vs. criminal fight, I think Sonny could take Sidwell. But Sidwell has been busy building financial and personal relationships with the heavy hitters in Port Charles by doing things like underwriting the Nurses Ball. He’s smart enough to wage campaigns on two fronts: public and private. Privately, he’s laying the groundwork to take control of Sonny’s turf by doing things like bombing Charlie’s Pub and bribing the judge in Michael’s custody case.

Publicly, he’s waging a charm offensive, trying to get the richest and most powerful people in Port Charles on his side. He’s also supplying Deception with zincite and doing his best to be indispensable in the city.

However, no one trusts him. Many movers and shakers in Port Charles know and trust Sonny, and their loyalty isn’t going to shift just because Sidwell starts throwing money around. Even with his charming son Marco (Adrian Anchondo) now at his side, Sidwell is going to need to work harder to overcome his reputation in Port Charles. No one has forgotten what he did to Lucky (Jonathan Jackson), Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) or Jason (Steve Burton) in Africa.

This time it’s personal

Sonny would like to think he’s pretty good at keeping business and family separate, but this time, Sidwell has gone after his family multiple times, and that makes it personal. There’s never been any evidence that Sidwell was behind the bombing at the penthouse that almost killed Michael, but Sonny and Jason both suspect Sidwell was behind it.

If Sidwell was responsible for the penthouse bombing, did he force the judge to give Michael full custody of his kids as a way of making up for the pain he caused? Sidwell seems to have a twisted moral sense that might have made him feel like he owed Michael for hurting him so badly.

Sidwell crossed Sonny’s last line now. Ordering the fire at Charlie’s Pub while Kristina (Kate Mansi) was inside was a personal attack that Sonny’s not going to let go of. He knows that Selina Wu (Lydia Look) is scared of him and would never attack him like that. Sonny knows it was Sidwell and may gun for Marco as payback, if he doesn’t let Carly’s (Laura Wright) words ring in his ears.

When Marco first came to town, he wanted little to do with his father. But now, he thinks that Sonny is responsible for the death of his mom Natalia (Eve LaRue), and he’s joined his father’s vendetta against Sonny. This is going to get messy, and I live for mess.

Always bet on Sonny

Sonny hasn’t been at his strongest the past few months. His heart condition knocked him down for a while, and he’s been dealing with a lot personally. I really thought at one point he would sell the piers and go into retirement.

But now that Sidwell has twice gone after his family directly, Sonny is gearing up for some old-school violence, and I’m here for it. There is no one like Sonny Corinthos when he’s on a mission to settle a score, and he’s got a big score to settle with Sidwell.

Sonny’s not stupid. He knows that whether or not the vote goes his way, he needs to make Sidwell understand that he’s the dominant power in Port Charles and he’s going to remain in power. Sidwell thinks that if the city votes to take the piers, he can knock Sonny out of position as the big power in Port Charles, but that’s not going to happen.

Sidwell is naïve not to realize that Sonny has held power in Port Charles all these years by making sure that everyone who tried to topple his reign was destroyed. Even though Sidwell may know how to cultivate power in other places, he’s never tried to take power in Port Charles. He’s underestimating Sonny’s wit and determination, and that’s going to backfire on him.

I think it will be a tough fight, but ultimately Sonny will come out on top. It may cost him the piers, his investment at Deception and possibly some of the connections with his family, but I think he will win. Sidwell will be lucky to make it out with his son.

Like many General Hospital fans, we were hopeful for Trina (Tabyana Ali) and Kai (Jens Austin Astrup) and their relationship. After experiencing the devastating loss of Spencer (Nicholas Chavez), it was nice to see Trina be able to meet someone we thought was a great match. Then here came Drew (Cameron Mathison).

After Kai suffered his football-career-ending injury and Drew offered to pay for Kai’s experimental surgery (that unfortunately didn’t work), Kai has found himself looking to Drew as a mentor. Especially, once Drew decided to hire Kai to work for him. But this all has presented a huge problem for Trina.

Trina loathes Drew. She correctly sees him as the corrupt politician and villainous phony that he is, and Kai refuses to accept that perception. Although the two wound up deciding to agree to disagree on Drew, Kai made a grave error in warning Drew of Curtis’ (Donnell Turner) plans after he overheard Curtis talking. While Drew appreciated the heads-up, even the congressman warned Kai that if Trina found out what he did, Trina would not be pleased. And on this, Drew is right.

We can’t imagine a world where Trina doesn’t explode on Kai for what he did. Trina’s likely to feel this is a betrayal of her father, and as the saying goes, “Blood is thicker than water.”

Kai may try his best to explain away his actions, but Trina probably won’t be able to understand. Although it’s possible that some time goes by and she tries to forgive him, we just don’t think Trina and Kai are going to make it. Whether Trina dumps him immediately after learning what he did, or waits to do it in the not-so-distant future, we just believe Trina and Kai aren't meant to be.

With that being said, because this is the soap world, should Trina experience some heartbreak, she’ll need another romantic partner. That got us to do some thinking, and we’ve come up with three potential partners.

First up is Gio (Giovanni Mazza). Although he has some kind of romantic situation with Emma (Braedyn Bruner), Vaughn (Bryce Durfee) has made it his mission to get close to Emma for WSB purposes, and we think Vaughn and Emma’s dynamic could prove to be a problem for Gio and Emma's relationship.

Additionally, it’s worth noting that before Emma and Kai emerged on the scene, it looked like Gio and Trina would become an item rather than just being friends. So with Vaughn in the mix now, and Trina and Kai having problems, perhaps Gio and Trina can finally pursue things together.

If not Gio, then perhaps now would be a great time to bring back Spencer from the “dead.” When he fell into the water last year, his body was never recovered, and yet he was presumed deceased. That left many of us assuming Spencer would be brought back at some point, so why not bring him back as Trina’s relationship with Kai is crumbling?

Our final guess for Trina’s new romance is with someone not on the show’s canvas at the moment. It could be a guy completely new, or maybe it could be a person who’s familiar, like Morgan Corinthos.

We know that Morgan is another one presumed to be dead, but his body wasn’t recovered either, leaving the door open for him to resurface. Trina and Morgan have never met, but we think it could be interesting to see Trina dating her best friend’s brother. Not only that, but to see how Curtis would respond to Trina dating Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) child.

As of now, all these other Trina romances reside in the realm of theory. She’s still paired with Kai. But again, #Trai or #Krina seems all but done.

It’s been months since General Hospital’s Carly (Laura Wright) has been warned about her romance with Jack Brennan (Chris McKenna), and yet those warnings are still ringing in our ears.

Jason (Steve Burton), Sonny (Maurice Benard), Felicia (Kristina Wagner), Lucas (Van Hansis) and even Elizabeth (Rebecca Herbst) have all cautioned Carly about being involved with Jack, given the danger he presents. However, she’s remained undeterred and committed to her relationship with him, despite it almost costing Carly her life when Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) accidentally poisoned her with a drink meant for Jack. This is a decision we’re almost certain she’ll live to regret.

As General Hospital viewers know, Jack is an agent with the WSB and with a number of enemies, so Carly being in his orbit puts her in danger. However, if that wasn’t enough of a threat to their romance, Jack is also hiding some major secrets from her. First, there’s the fact that he covered up Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) murder of Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober). In that same vein, Jack then recruited Josslyn to join the WSB.

We also have to talk about our theory that Jack knows more about the penthouse bombing that nearly killed Michael (Rory Gibson). While we aren’t sure if he’s responsible for almost murdering Carly’s eldest son, we have a hunch he may know more information about it that he’s been withholding.

Should Carly learn any one of these secrets, she’d likely break up with him, and sadly for Jack, we suspect one of them is about to spill out soon. But which one?

If we had to guess, we suspect Carly is getting ready to learn that her daughter is a WSB agent. Not long ago, Anna (Finola Hughes) asked Jason to look into Professor Dalton (Daniel Goddard) for the sake of protecting Emma (Braedyn Bruner) and Josslyn. He agreed to do so, and we speculated then that his investigation put him on a collision course with Josslyn, as she’s also investigating him.

It just seems likely Jason would learn what Josslyn is up to and her new profession. Although he may not discover that his de facto niece is also a murderer (though she killed Cyrus in self-defense). Sadly for Josslyn, even if she begs Jason not to tell her mother, we don’t think it will work.

Not for nothing, but Jason has lied to Carly a few times this year, and he’s fortunate she was so understanding to overlook it. Especially, when Jason ran around pretending to be the father of Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) baby, knowing Michael was the bio dad, making baby Daisy her granddaughter. So Jason probably won’t want to rock the boat with his bestie, and he may press Josslyn to come clean or threaten to do it himself if the young agent refuses.

Either way, when the Metro Court owner learns Jack recruited her daughter into a dangerous profession, she’s likely to erupt in anger. Understandably, she doesn’t want anything to happen to her mini-me, and probably can’t bear the thought of losing another child to violence.

Should Carly and Jack meet their relationship’s end soon, we are holding out hope that will mean #Carson will be back in action, with Carly and Sonny once again reunited.

As soon as the General Hospital judge ruled in Michael’s (Rory Gibson) favor and awarded him sole custody of Wiley (Viron Weaver) and Amelia (Sequoia & Serenity Mork Macko), we suspected Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) was headed toward trouble, especially after she collapsed in court and temporarily entered a catatonic state.

At the time, we suspected Willow would take a page out of Nina’s (Cynthia Watros) book and kidnap Michael and Sasha’s (Sofia Mattsson) new baby, Daisy. Well, it was revealed in the General Hospital episode airing on July 8 that Daisy’s stalker is in fact Willow, and she told Daisy while holding her, "Your mommy betrayed me, your daddy won’t let me see my children, so we’re going to show them how that feels, okay." While we think that statement hints at Willow kidnapping Daisy in the future, we’ll just have to wait and see.

This new version of Willow is again not entirely shocking, as we predicted she would suffer from a snap in reality. However, what if this snap is being driven by her dead twin sister, Nelle (Chloe Lanier)? Allow us to explain.

In the time leading up to Michael and Willow’s custody battle, there were a few insults hurled at Willow, claiming she was just like Nelle or worse. While that initially wasn’t seen by most fans as a signal of Willow’s dark turn, in hindsight, the writers could have been foreshadowing events to come.

Then, bouncing back to Willow’s courtroom collapse and her subsequent inability to communicate temporarily, it didn’t seem as if she received an adequate mental health evaluation to give her the all clear. She was just in the hospital briefly, before she was released, and she was up and talking again.

However, let us propose the possibility that there was more to that incident. In a soapy twist, could Willow have collapsed as herself, but awoken as both Willow and Nelle, adopting her sister’s diabolical personality to pair with her own?

Over on The Young and the Restless, Ashley (Eileen Davidson) went through a storyline where she had dissociative identity disorder that stemmed from a traumatic event. It caused her to shift between different personalities at any given moment, and each personality in some way helped “protect” Ashley and helped her go after what she wanted.

Bringing this back to Willow, it’s possible that she’s now suffering from dissociative identity disorder. While there are times she’s her “normal” self, her Nelle personality is driving her to exact revenge against those who wronged her in the most heinous of ways.

Adding credibility to our theory is how Willow is approaching this revenge scheme. At the moment, she’s doing small things to Sasha to make the new mother believe something nefarious is going on, while making those around Sasha question Sasha’s mental fitness after giving birth. Willow’s gaslighting is very similar to what Nelle once did to Carly (Laura Wright), in making the Metro Court owner believe Morgan (Bryan Craig) was still alive, with the sole purpose of driving Carly mad and making Carly’s loved ones believe she was delusional.

So has Willow morphed into Nelle? If this is the case, we can’t wait to see how Drew (Cameron Mathison) deflects blame and how Nina (Cynthia Watros) carries on as if she couldn’t have stopped Willow’s downward spiral.

From the moment General Hospital’s Sidwell (Carlo Rota) decided to take up residence in Port Charles and attempt to take over Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) territory, we’ve been suspicious about his real motive.

Some will argue that because Sidwell is a criminal and knows how profitable Sonny’s operation is, that’s reason enough for Sidwell to go after the Corinthos patriarch. Additionally, this same group might point out that Sidwell zeroed in on Port Charles due to his rivalry with Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) and Holly (Emma Samms).

However, we’d counter that a man as well-versed with the world as Sidwell could literally set up his criminal organization anywhere. Plus, Lucky and Holly are long gone, yet Sidwell is determined to stay in town and wreak havoc.

Adding to all of this, Sidwell purchased the infamous Cassadine estate, Wyndemere, and has been rather insistent on reacquainting Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) with Helena’s dagger, the very instrument used to kill Alexis’ mother. So again, we question Sidwell’s real motive for lingering around Port Charles. This is where Jordan (Tanisha Harper) could come into play.

It’s been a few months since Jordan accepted Sidwell’s offer to work for him, with her only pretending to do so until she’s able to gain enough intel on Sidwell to finally expose him for the ruthless mob boss that he is. With her being a former federal agent and ex-cop, we think it’s only a matter of time before she gets a glance at the skeletons in Sidwell’s closet.

We can imagine a scenario where Jordan uncovers either one of two things. First, we think it’s a real possibility that Sidwell is actually a Cassadine. It would hardly be the first time that a new Cassadine heir appears in town to cause trouble, and we’ve been saying for a while that although General Hospital is entertaining, a villainous Cassadine presence has been missing. We thought it would be nice to see Nikolas (Adam Huss) resurface, but perhaps Sidwell being revealed as a Cassadine could be an interesting twist.

If not a Cassadine, we’ve floated the idea that Sidwell could ironically be related to Sonny. That somehow, Sidwell is a long-lost brother or cousin of Sonny, whom Sonny didn’t know existed. Perhaps, Sidwell grew up with a chip on his shoulder about Sonny, and when the Dimpled Kingpin helped Holly with the diamonds, that fueled Sidwell’s resentment of Sonny and pushed him to go after him.

Now, if either theory rings true, there’s a chance that Jordan learns of the family connection by overhearing a conversation Sidwell has with someone, or she traces Sidwell's funds back to an individual closely tied to the Cassadine or Corinthos clan.

Heck, we can’t rule out the possibility that Jordan learns Sidwell has another motive altogether, keeping him in Port Charles. Could he be related to one of Sonny’s many former enemies and be seeking revenge? Sure, it’s possible. We will just have to keep watching.

Since General Hospital’s Daisy was born, there have been a series of oddities surrounding her young life. First, there was the incident at the hospital when Sasha (Sofia Mattsson) was excited to reunite with her baby but was brought the wrong child. Sasha immediately noticed the error, and the nursing staff was quick to correct the "mistake."

Then there have been the weird occurrences around the Quartermaine mansion. For example, in one episode, Sasha clearly put Daisy in a yellow onesie, but moments later, when Sasha went to check on her daughter, she was wearing a red onesie. Additionally, someone has been lurking around Daisy’s nursery.

This all has us thinking Daisy may soon find herself in danger of being kidnapped. Given the mob war heating up between Sonny (Maurice Benard) and Sidwell (Carlo Rota), it’s easy to assume that Daisy will find herself a victim of the chaos and that Sidwell will orchestrate her kidnapping. While that could certainly prove to be the case, we have three other viable suspects besides Port Charles’ new dangerous villain.

First up, there’s Gladys (Bonnie Burroughs). Sonny’s loathsome cousin may have some twisted motives to want to take Daisy.

After stealing Sasha’s money and having her committed to Ferncliff a while ago, Sonny warned his cousin to leave town and not return, or he’d have to take more of a permanent approach to ensure she stayed away from Port Charles. Gladys took Sonny up on his proposition to survive and left. However, it’s not hard to imagine that given her unceremonious departure, she’s developed a grudge against Sasha and Sonny.

Is it possible that Glady has been keeping tabs on Sasha and Sonny? Did Gladys learn that Sasha was pregnant and suffer a mental break, thinking about the baby Sasha lost with Brando (John William Wactor III)? Furthermore, in a twisted way, could Gladys see taking Daisy as a way to start over with a family? It should also be noted that with Daisy being Sonny’s grandchild, Gladys could also see kidnapping Daisy as retribution.

Next up on the suspect list is Willow (Katelyn MacMullen). After her breakdown in court when she lost custody of her two small children, we suspected that her character would take a dark turn, perhaps walking in the footsteps of Nina (Cynthia Watros), who once kidnapped Avery (Ava & Grace Scarola) after suffering from a break from reality. While in most recent scenes it seems as if Willow is more focused on reuniting with her son and daughter rather than kidnapping her ex-husband’s infant, we can’t rule out the possibility that Willow has a hidden agenda.

Our last suspect is none other than Nelle (Chloe Lanier), Willow’s “evil” twin sister. Although Nelle is believed to be dead, she is hardly the first person to come back from beyond the grave. Look at Jason (Steve Burton). And if Nelle is alive, she has plenty of reason to want to kidnap Daisy.

When alive, Michael proved successful in getting custody of Wiley (Viron Weaver) in a court battle against her, and Nelle was never the biggest fan of Sasha. Plus, Nelle can’t stand Carly (Laura Wright). Adding all of this to Nelle’s overall evil demeanor, Nelle would likely be happy to kidnap Daisy if that meant sticking it to Michael, Sasha and Carly.

Of course, these are just some theories we have about the future of the Daisy storyline. However, they're ones we have to consider as something appears to be on the horizon, as indicated by the following General Hospital preview clip for the week of July 7.

General Hospital fans, this is not a Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) apology piece or an excuse for her actions. Willow is responsible for her own choices, and she’s made some incredibly bad ones. But her past really did make her the perfect victim for Drew (Cameron Mathison), and he knew that.

Now, Drew is more responsible for the current mess because he specifically targeted Willow based on her past. He doesn’t love her, and probably never did. He wants to control her, and her past set her up perfectly to be controlled and manipulated by a strong male figure.

Drew deliberately chose Willow

Why would Drew choose to go after his nephew’s wife? It always seemed a little strange that someone like Drew would pursue his nephew Michael’s (Rory Gibson) wife when, as a good-looking, wealthy, successful man, he would have a lot of dating options. I think Drew picked Willow because she grew up in the Dawn of Day cult, and he knew how easy it would be to manipulate and control her.

Long-time GH fans will remember that Willow was raised in the Dawn of the Day cult after being sold to Harmony Miller (Inga Cadranel) by her maternal grandmother. Willow was trained from childhood to obey a strong male figure. And when Harmony convinced her to sleep with the head of the cult, Hank Archer (Coby Ryan McLaughlin), she learned to associate submission with being loved and accepted.

Drew knew Hank Archer from his time in the military. He knew exactly the kind of man that Archer was, and he knew how Archer manipulated Willow. Because Drew is a terrible human being, he knew that he could manipulate and control Willow the same way that Archer did.

Drew is exploiting Willow’s insecurity and need for protection and peace to make her stay with him. He doesn’t want her to marry him because he loves her; he wants her to marry him so he can have full control over her.

Willow has regressed

After leaving the cult and marrying Michael, it seemed like Willow had been able to leave her past behind. With the help of Nina (Cynthia Watros), and even Carly (Laura Wright), Willow was able to learn to make her own decisions and be her own person. So why did she immediately crumble into a crying waif when she finally slept with Drew? Because Drew’s influence made her regress back to the mental state she was in when she was in the cult.

It makes sense that in a time of trauma, when she feels like everything is falling apart, she would look to a strong male figure to tell her what to do, since she was conditioned from childhood to look to Archer for help, protection and guidance.

Drew knew that he could easily break Willow down and control her, which is exactly what he’s done. Now Willow has lost her marriage and her kids.

Can Willow break free?

Drew knows exactly what he needs to do to keep Willow under his control. By manipulating the conditions around her and telling her what she wants to hear, he can continue to isolate her from everyone who might help her leave him.

It’s not easy to break free from the control of a manipulative person, and Willow may not have the strength to do it. Even though Nina and many others would help her leave Drew, Willow has to see how she’s being manipulated and want to leave herself.

When Willow lost custody of the kids, she had a total mental breakdown. That could have been a turning point for her. She could have realized that she lost her kids because of Drew, left him, and started doing the work to repair all the relationships she’s damaged by supporting him. Eventually, Michael would have let her back into the kids’ lives if she had done that. Instead, Willow decided to marry Drew, because Drew told her they should get married.

Willow is ruining her life. I don’t think right now she can face that she’s responsible for losing her kids because of her choice to be with Drew. So instead, she’s going to marry him and continue to make terrible choices.

Willow has too much invested in her relationship with Drew to admit that she made a huge mistake. And now Drew has convinced her that getting married will help her get custody of the kids again. I don’t think she can break free of him because ultimately, she doesn’t want to. It would be too painful for her to realize that she repeated the mistakes she made in the past by choosing Drew.

They’re both to blame

Willow is responsible for her choices, and she’s not a victim in this. However, Drew is an absolute monster who targeted Willow precisely because he knew how easy it would be to break her down mentally and control her.

The kids definitely deserve better, so even though the judge was bribed to give custody to Michael, I’m glad he has sole custody. There’s a small chance Willow could get it together and break free of Drew, but who knows when that will happen.
