Since it arrived on Netflix in June, animated movie KPop Demon Hunters has become a genuine, global sensation.

Though Netflix often keeps tight-lipped on viewing figures, the streaming giant revealed that it surpassed 33 million views in two weeks and it has been sitting at number 1 in their global charts for over a month. Not only that, the soundtrack peaked at number 2 in the Billboard album charts, and the original songs have dominated the Spotify rankings, leading to a real-life battle for the top spot between the fictional bands from the movie, HUNTR/X and the Saja Boys.

The surprise hit focuses on girl group HUNTR/X, K-pop idols who also happen to be badass demon hunters. Their singing voices maintain the barrier that keeps the demons at bay from the real world, but cracks start to appear when rival boy band, Saja Boys, are sent from the underworld to steal their fans and open up the divide that separates evil from good.

While the concept of KPop Demon Hunters is pretty unique — one of the many reasons it has resonated with fans — here are some other series and movies streaming on Netflix that will scratch a similar itch.

Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld

The similarities with KPop Demon Hunters are almost immediate from the opening moments of Netflix animated series Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld. The series focuses on 16-year-old Jentry Chau (voiced by Ali Wong), a teenage girl who learns she has demon-slaying powers, and a powerful demon is out to get her to steal them from her.

Not only are there similarities in the story, but Jentry Chau vs. the Underworld also has a similar neon aesthetic. There’s even a K-pop link, with Jentry being particularly fond of singing songs by Korean mega-idols, BLACKPINK, at karaoke with her friends, and there’s a killer soundtrack as well. Across the series, Jentry has to battle both literal and her own personal demons, in a similar way to Rumi (voiced by Arden Cho) in KPop Demon Hunters.

Sailor Moon Eternal

In addition to the catchy soundtrack and striking visuals, KPop Demon Hunters also has a compelling story about a group of female protagonists who have to save the world. When it comes to a female troupe defeating evil with the power of love and friendship, you can’t go wrong with Sailor Moon, and Netflix has the two-parter movie, Sailor Moon Eternal to fill the gap between rewatches of KPop Demon Hunters.

This movie focuses on the “Dream” arc of the manga and is a continuation from the anime series, Sailor Moon Crystal. In Eternal, the Sailor Guardians face the threat of the Dead Moon Circus, an acrobatic group with strange abilities that use dark energy to manipulate people’s nightmares. While it is entirely possible to go into Sailor Moon Eternal without being fully versed in all things Sailor Moon, a basic understanding of the lore would make it a little less baffling to complete newcomers.

Pop Star Academy: Katseye

You may have already heard of real-life girl group, Katseye, thanks to viral songs such as "Touch" and "Gnarly". However, you might not know the story behind how they were formed, and that is where Pop Star Academy: Katseye comes in.

This docuseries offers a peek behind the curtain, showing how K-pop bands are formed and the rigorous training process involved.

The idea of creating a global girl group in the K-pop mould was the brainchild of music giants Hybe and Geffen, and this compelling reality series shows the incredible commitment that goes into becoming K-pop idols. Pop Star Academy becomes even more brutal when it moves into the “survival” phase, and those who don’t make the cut are taken out of the process.

KPop Demon Hunters delves a little into the highly competitive nature of K-pop with the rivalry between HUNTR/X and Saja Boys, and Pop Star Academy really brings home the toll of being in this industry and the immense talent needed to rise to the very top.

Nimona

Those who were particularly drawn to Rumi’s struggle in KPop Demon Hunters will be pleased to hear that there is another very similar movie already waiting for them to enjoy on Netflix.

Like the all-singing 2025 smash-hit movie, 2023 animated adventure Nimona also focuses on a gutsy female protagonist and a fragile truce that is supposedly keeping evil forces at bay from the real world.

Set in a unique futuristic-meets-medieval world, shape-shifting outcast Nimona (voiced by Chloë Grace Moretz) decides to help the exiled former knight, Ballister Boldheart (voiced by Riz Ahmed), to clear his name after he is accused of murdering the Queen.

Much like KPop Demon Hunters, Nimona explores what it really means to be a hero — or a monster, for that matter — and the impact of being perceived as a monster on the person in question. The touching friendship between Nimona and Ballister is an unlikely one, but it is one of the many great aspects of this movie.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba

It is worth knowing going into it that Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is tonally very different to the more light-hearted KPop Demon Hunters, but there are some similarities between Jinu’s (Saja Boys’ lead vocalist, voiced by Ahn Hyo-seop) tragic backstory, and the catalyst for Tanjiro Kamado (voiced by Natsuki Hanae) in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

When Tanjiro Kamado’s family is killed, and his only surviving relative, sister Nezuko (voiced by Akari Kitō) is turned into a demon, he joins the Demon Slayer Corps, an organization that keeps the forces of the underworld under control.

Focused on avenging his family and finding a cure for the afflicted Nezuko, Tanjiro hones his demon-slaying abilities while also struggling to overcome the trauma that led him there. Central to Demon Slayer is the unbreakable sibling bond between Tanjiro and Nezuko — something that is also seen in the found-family HUNTR/X trio in KPop Demon Hunters — and in a similar way to the 2025 movie, Demon Slayer also explores the fine line that exists between humans and monsters.

Our Fault (Culpa Nuestra) is the third instalment to Prime Video's smash hit adaptation of the Spanish Culpable book trilogy by Mercedes Ron.

Bree Cameron (played by Juliet Godwin) hasn't seen a whole lot of her busy boyfriend, Remi Carter (Adam Rowland), on Home and Away (1:45pm - see our TV Guide for listings).

Music producer Remi has been working day and night at the recording studio, finishing work on albums for both Kirby Aramoana (Angelina Thomson) and Avalon Bracken (Gemma Dart).

So when Bree's phone calls to Remi go unanswered, she starts to worry...

Sherlock Holmes remains one of the most famous characters the world over (fictional, to be clear, despite some speculation Holmes may be based on a real person). He has memorably been played by Benedict Cumberbatch, Robert Downey Jr., Henry Cavill and Basil Rathbone, among others. All of those adaptations of Sherlock were made in the US or the UK, but did you know that the former Soviet Union made a series of Sherlock Holmes movies/TV series?

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson was a series of five movies that were then broken up into 11 episodes that aired on TV in the Soviet Union during the 1980s. At the heart of it was the performance of Vasiliy Livanov as Sherlock Holmes, which many who are well-versed in all things Sherlock Holmes consider to be one of the best portrayals of the character.

What’s really cool is you can watch The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson for yourself right now, and for free on YouTube, with an account having all 11 episodes of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson with English subtitles.

Though the Soviet Union’s film/TV industry was behind this adaptation of the classic London detective, it was heavily praised for being very faithful to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s original work. This includes having the series set in London, with a street in Riga, Latvia (then part of the Soviet bloc), serving as the exterior of Holmes’ traditional residence on Baker Street.

Starring alongside Livanov’s Holmes was Vitali Solomin as Dr. John Watson. Together they went through a number of Holmes’ classic cases, including “The Adventure of the Speckled Band,” “A Study in Scarlet,” “The Adventure of Charles Augustus Milverton,” “The Final Problem,” The Adventure of the Empty House,” “The Hound of the Baskervilles,” “The Sign of Four,” “Scandal in Bohemia,” “The Adventure of the Engineer’s Thumb,” “The Adventure of the Second Stain,” “The Adventure of the Bruce-Partington Plans” and “His Last Bow.”

Livanov’s performance as Holmes is so well regarded that he was actually made an Honorary Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) “for service to the theatre and performing arts.”

If you’ve made your way through some of the notable current summer crime/mystery hits on TV like Untamed, Dept. Q, Countdown or Smoke, then The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson can be a fun alternative. And again, most importantly, free to watch.

Under a Dark Sun is a new French murder mystery on Netflix starring Ava Baya as a young mother accused of murder. Here’s everything that happened in the sixth and final episode...

The action starts one year earlier. A woman is writing to Arnaud about constructing perfume and how you use different notes for its layers. It's Alba’s mother, Nadia. She writes: "Do you know what has clung to my skin for 24 years? The smell of flowers and soil. The day I gave birth to my daughter in your fields. That is my base note.

"My heart note is the memory of her crying when that same day, the nurse took her away from me. My top note is a mix of guilt and anger. You made me believe that because she wasn't planned, because I didn't even know that I was pregnant, that the only solution was to abandon her.

"I thought that if I forced myself to forget her, she would vanish. I rebuilt everything. Far away from Grasse, far away from the young woman who had nothing. Who was nothing. Now, I’m pregnant again. Apart from my doctor, no one knows that I've carried a child before. Since this child has been growing inside me, the scent of the past has resurfaced. It follows me." She continues that she feels ashamed of her cowardice. All she thinks of is the daughter she abandoned, and it’s time to pay for the mistakes of the past.

She says she's not giving Arnaud a choice; she's found her daughter, Alba. Nadia says they’re both going to ask for Alba’s forgiveness, and Arnaud is going to give her his precious roses. And she signs off the letter.

Béatrice is alive!

Back in the present, we thought Béatrice was dead, but she's not! Alba is desperately trying to save her. Alba cries for help. Two people finally come and find that she has a weak pulse. They ask who Alba is and ask each other if Joséphine is secure.

Lucie tries to find Mathieu. She finds a scene of destruction in the house.

The cop arrives at the clinic, but Alba has fled. He tells his colleagues the suspect is on the run. Surely he's worked out by now, Alba isn’t behind all this. Apparently not!

Alba hasn't left the clinic. She hides in a room.

Béatrice is in a bad way, while Alba frantically tries to get blood off her hands. The medics give Béatrice adrenaline in a desperate bid to save her. Béatrice has a weird vision of herself at the roulette table with Arnaud as the croupier.

Leo wakes and calls out for his mum, but there’s no sign of her.

Alba finds Joséphine’s room. Alba finds a book on the floor, which looks like the one Manon gave her brother. Joséphine doesn’t want Alba to look at it.

Alba shows her a photo of her mother and asks if she recognizes her. Josephine recognizes Naida. Josephine remembers blood being around Nadia. They find Alba, but she locks the door and continues to talk to Josephine.

Joséphine recalls Nadia giving birth. She found Nadia and her baby, she remembers. She recalls Nadia passing out. She wanted to take Nadia to the hospital, but she remembers the doctors didn’t want her with them. She remembers being left alone for hours, except by Arnaud. Joséphine believes Arnaud was frightened because it was his baby. We see Arnaud saying he's always been on Joséphine’s side and brought her into the family, talking Mathieu into marrying her. He wants her to keep the fact that he got another woman pregnant a secret from Béatrice and Mathieu.

Alba asks Joséphine why Arnaud lied, saying Mathieu is her dad. This triggers a memory in Joséphine.

We see Joséphine shouting at Arnaud. "Stop pretending. I've kept my side of the bargain for 10 years. You've been lying to me this whole time! Mathieu told me everything. His affair with Nadia! I know that you're not the child's father. It's Mathieu."

Arnaud makes out she’s mad, and that it's all in her head.

Joséphine, traumatized by the memory, throws Alba to the ground, shouting "No."

Mathieu is on a beach, remembering being with Nadia. He walks into the sea looking like he might take his own life.

Lucie is in her car, looking for Mathieu. She gets a call that Béatrice is in a coma.

Leo tries to call Alba, but gets no answer. He calls Hadrien. He asks him if he can ask Manon to track Alba down.

Alba is talking to the head of the clinic, who says her predecessor admitted Joséphine, not her. The cop is confused. Alba says Arnaud wanted to destroy Joséphine, and that’s why he got her admitted. Alba tells the cop that Mathieu is her dad, not Arnaud. At that point, Manon walks in.

Manon goes to see her mother, Joséphine. She cries on her as she gets no response. Alba picks up the book. Manon asks where she found the book, and Alba says her and says someone has ripped a page out with a message on it. Manon tells Alba the message she wrote in the book for her brother. It was mum’s favorite, she explains. Alba asks if Hadrien has read Joséphine the book and how long Hadrien has known she's there. Alba asks Manon why Hadrien would hide that he’d found their mum? She says she doesn’t know.

Alba says Arnaud's murder was never about the inheritance; it was revenge. She thinks Hadrien killed Arnaud to avenge his mother. Alba continues that Hadrien set her up for Arnaud’s murder because he also blamed her for what happened to her mother.

Alba asks Manon to call her brother now. Manon looks at her phone, and there’s a message from him saying Alba is acting insane and he’s picked up Leo, who's a mess. Alba is stopped on the way to save Leo by the cop, so she headbutts him and grabs his gun! She knocks another cop out of the way and drives off.

Hadrien is with Leo, and they are shooting arrows. Hadrien takes off his jumper and, in doing so, exposes his tattoo. Leo thinks he recognises it as the one belonging to his kidnapper! Manon begs Alba not to hurt her brother, and Alba says he's her brother as well, as Mathieu is her dad. Manon says everyone in her family wears a mask, and so she has as well.

Under a Dark Sun ending explained: Manon is the killer

We see Manon looking through photos of Alba and Arnaud’s will. And we see Manon was the one who sent Alba the text message offering the job, pretending to be from Arnaud. And we see Manon pulling the trigger, killing Arnaud!!

Manon, back in the present, tells Alba she had the perfect plan, but Alba ruined everything.

We flashback to see Manon directing Valentin, telling him that unless he goes along with her, he will report him to the police for his crimes. And we then see that Manon has the exact same tattoo as her brother, and that's the one Leo saw! Hadrien is innocent.

We also see Manon carrying a knife to attack Béatrice. Manon then says to Alba, "You've made me do the only thing I detest, improvise." And she grabs the steering wheel! Alba loses control of the car, and it rolls many times.

Lucie finds Mathieu beside the sea and hugs him. "There’s something I need to tell you," says Lucie.

Petrol drips from the wrecked car. Alba is alive. Manon seems to have gone. Alba picks up the gun and exits the car.

An injured Manon staggers into the house. She finds an unresponsive Hadrien at the bottom of some steps in the garden. Then we see he has an arrow stuck in him, Leo has shot him dead with an arrow!

Alba arrives, and Leo says he didn't mean it and says Hardien has a tattoo. Manon says she will admit everything, but Alba will lose everything too, as Leo will go to prison. Pretty sure he'd have a very good defence being a child, having been recently kidnapped and having a very good reason for thinking that the man he killed was his abductor, but there you go!

Alba says they'll say Hadrien is the killer, and then Leo can say it was self-defence. “Our silence for yours,” she says. Alba points the gun at Manon, and Leo screams at her not to pull the trigger.

We move forward in time and see the house empty.

Alba is working in a fast food restaurant. She ends her shift and looks at a photo of her mum. Alba has got a new flat and shows Leo. He worries that they can't afford it, but she says they can now that she has a job.

Leo says he can't stop thinking about what happened. Alba says nothing happened apart from what they told the police. Alba says she’s taking his fear away from him, and they hug.

Alba gets a phone call and returns to the house, which has a for sale sign. Alba goes in and hears voices. She steps into the room, and Béatrice is talking to Mathieu. Lucie is also there. "Look who’s returned," sniffs Béatrice. She asks if the mystery buyer asked Alba to be there, and she replies that it was their lawyer.

Béatrice says that Alba won’t see a penny because it turned out she wasn't Arnaud’s daughter. Alba says that’s fine; she wants nothing. Lucie doesn't want to sell.

Manon turns up! Béatrice doesn’t remember that Manon was her attacker. Lucie says Hadrien got what he wanted: the fall of the family and the house. Mathieu tells her to stop talking like that and that he has to sell, otherwise he’d die.

Béatrice thanks Alba for saving her life. Béatrice asks Alba to share a glass of champagne with her, as this will be the last time they see each other. They all toast "the family".

Nadia then walks in! She smiles at Alba, and she smiles back. Nadia is obviously the mystery buyer. It seems Manon has escaped justice. But we're sure Nadia will give Alba and Leo the house, a happy ending of sorts.

Valentin, who we now know is evil, has Alba, Noor, and Leo locked up in the back of the van. He stops the van at a very scenic spot. He points the gun at them and tells them to get out. He then walks them to a spectacular cliff. He cuts Leo free of his bonds. Leo hugs Alba.

Valentin tells Alba she's a good mum, and she spits in his face. "This could have been so much easier if you just died like you were supposed to," he says. We flash back and see he whacked her with the spade before burying her in the coffin. He also reveals he was the one behind the camera footage of her and Leo in their home. He says he had to get close to her to keep an eye on her.

Alba asks him who he's working for, and he tells her to shut up and puts the gun to her head. Noor sees he's distracted and stabs him in the knee! Alba and Valentin wrestle. Noor takes her chance again and repeatedly stabs him in a frenzy. He's very dead.

Béatrice appears to be in some kind of asylum and strapped to a bed! This seems rather absurd, given that she seems completely normal. "The thing is, I’m not mad," she screams, now looking mad. As she tries to make a telephone call from the front desk, someone is watching her. Lucie is singing and is clearly delighted to have ditched her mother. She plays a voicemail from her desperate mother and smiles to herself.

Did Valentin murder Arnaud?

Alba is talking to the lead cop, who says Valentin killed Arnaud and framed her to protect himself. Turns out Valentin had cameras hidden in a lot of the homes on the estate so he could send videos to perverts. But is he really the one who killed Arnaud? The cop thinks Arnaud grew suspicious of what Valentin was up to, and that’s why he was murdered. Manon is at Alba's side.

The cop continues that Valentin hacked into Arnaud's computer, and that’s how he found out about Alba. Valentin would force the vulnerable workers to have sex with his clients. He'd already been to prison for the same crime but had changed his identity. Manon rages that the police failed to check him out and instead focused on Alba. The cop mentions Jacques, but he thinks he died of a heart attack. Manon makes the odd comment that wanting to be part of her family is not for the faint-hearted.

Mathieu finds that the workers are leaving the farm.

Lucie answers the door, and it’s her boyfriend.

Alba says sorry to Manon about what happened at the party. Noor says Samira is going to stay with her, and she hopes to get some documents to be allowed to stay in France. Noor says she did what Alba asked of her and said nothing. They hug. Noor says whoever it is, Alba should find them and make them pay.

Alba pleads with Leo to talk. He does and asks who his father is. She tells him. She says the drawings in the notebook Leo found were by him. She says he’s dead. She says he drunk a lot and took drugs. He became mean and dangerous. Leo pushes for more answers, and Alba says he went crazy and attacked her. She says she pushed him away, and he fell and never got up. Leo says that she killed his dad. He asks her to leave.

Mathieu snorts more drugs. Lucie says they should add drugs to the prostitution ring going on at their estate. She says they need to talk to the press, but she can’t think of what to say. Mathieu shouts they’re ruined.

Back at the asylum, the doctor tells Béatrice that her family has seen a lot of disturbing behaviour by her. They then debate all her weird behaviour. The doctor refuses to let her leave despite her begging.

The woman who was looking at her sits opposite her. It’s Joséphine! Manon’s mum. Joséphine plunges a fork into Béatrice’s hand.

Alba speaks on the phone to tell Manon that she was lying and that Valentin was just a pawn for someone. She continues that Arnaud was hiding something else, the name of her mother. She says she thinks Arnaud got a flower picker pregnant, and that’s her mum. She tells Manon that if she can find her mother, she might be able to work out why everything has happened. Manon seems keen that Alba doesn’t dig any further. But Alba says she’s the one who has to end all of this.

Leo wanders about the hospital. He finds Hadrien in his room, and Hadrien explains he’s Manon’s brother and says she asked him to check on him. Hadrien offers to take him for an archery lesson.

Oliver heads off to stay at a hotel while Lucie sorts her head out.

Béatrice gets her hand seen to. She asks how long Joséphine has been there, and the workers tell her years, and that she was paranoid and claimed to be a victim of a plot. She had complained of being tricked by her in-laws and that the manager was involved.

Alba searches the family home. She finds employee documents from the time she was born in a file. She wonders if one of the women in the photo is her mother. By chance, she finds some more photos and one interests her a lot.

Leo is having his archery lesson. Leo talks about his dad being dead, and Hadrien says he grew up without his mother.

Alba's father is revealed

In the middle of the night, Béatrice makes an escape bid. She goes into Joséphine’s room. Béatrice says she had no part in her being taken away. She says she thought she'd abandoned her son and kids and started a new life somewhere else. Béatrice gets to the reception desk and makes a call and says the person on the other end has to believe her.

Alba goes to visit Mathieu. She shows him the photo and asks for the name of the flower picker on the right. He can’t remember. She says she believes Arnaud hired her and the next spring she gave birth. Mathieu says she doesn’t know anything. Alba says why has just her file gone.

Lucie calls Oliver and says she’s not coming to join him. She can’t leave Mathieu. Oliver says she doesn't owe her brother anything. But she replies she does because she is part of the reason he's like he is.

When they were young, she spied on him with one of the flower pickers, who he was very much in love with and she knew that he'd want to divorce Joséphine to be with her and she freaked out because Joséphine had invested heavily in the estate and without her money the estate woud be “f*****d”. Lucie told her father everything, and the next day Joséphine was gone. OK, so looks like Arnaud somehow managed to have Joséphine placed in the asylum! It’s not clear what happened to the flower picker, but Lucie continues that is why Mathieu is so deeply unhappy.

Mathieu, meanwhile, looks like a man on the edge. He calls out for Alba, but there’s no sign of her. He sees the pack of photos she had, and there are pictures of what could be Alba’s mum. Is she the mystery flower picker Lucie was talking about? It appears she is, as we see Mathieu flash back to being with her.

Alba suddenly appears and points a sword at his head. "That's my favourite too," she says of the photo. She says he got his revenge on Arnaud and killed him. "When you saw my name on the will, that's when you realised that he'd got the flower picker you loved pregnant."

They struggle, and she kicks him to the floor. He suddenly declares Arnaud isn't her father, he is! Mathieu says he would have done anything to save his family, and we see a flashback of him appearing to be ready to burn down Alba’s home and kill her. However, he saw how much she looked like the flower picker he loved, her mother, and couldn’t. He took a hairbrush so he could do a DNA test to check whether she was his daughter. He says that before she arrived, he had no idea she even existed.

He says he promises he didn’t set him up, and he didn’t kill his dad. He says he has no idea why his father included her in the will. Alba asks him for the name of her mother. “Nadia,” replies Mathieu. He says he was deeply in love with her and was going to leave Joséphine for her. But then Nadia vanished without telling him she was pregnant. He says he didn't abandon her.

Turns out Béatrice called Alba! She says Alba's mother is at the clinic with her and she must come now, they’re in room 102! Alba heads to the clinic.

Alba goes inside and finds room 102. She walks in, and Béatrice is covered in blood. And a siren goes off!

Under a Dark Sun is a new French murder mystery on Netflix starring Ava Baya as a young mother accused of murder. Here’s everything that happened in the fourth episode...

Episode 4 opens with Leo looking out from a gap in his blindfold; he thinks he can see his mum. He then sees someone with a distinctive tattoo on their back. He’s in a car, his captor grabs him, and he screams.

Lucie refuses a call from Mathieu. Mathieu takes drugs.

Béatrice is alarmed to get a racy gift from her future hubby, Jacques. Mathieu’s son Hadrien says he's not going to the wedding. Mathieu says yes, he is. Then turns out he's forgotten his own son's birthday! They argue.

Lucie drinks red wine and meets a mystery woman, who says she thinks they have enough to intervene. Not clear what that's about.

Alba is crying. Alba stashes a knife in her shoe. She gets a message from the kidnapper.

Alba attends a party. The kidnapper messages her "nice dress”. She walks about the party trying to work out who sent her the message. Valentin taps her on the shoulder. He’s had a text telling him to go to the party or Leo will die.

Alba gets a text telling her to kill Jacques! And she has one hour. “We have to call the police,” says Valentin.

Alba rushes off and spies Jacques. She eyes up a knife and we see her imagining stabbing Jacques to death.

She sees Valentin again. Manon spots her. Béatrice stops her and says she wants help with a legal problem. Manon is quite dismissive.

Alba heads upstairs with Valentin keeping watch.

Will Alba kill Jacques?

Mathieu is confronted with the fact that the caterers are threatening to stop work as they haven't been paid. Matthieu says Lucie should have paid them, but it’s clear she hasn’t, and she’s ignoring her messages.

Mathieu goes to talk to Omar, hoping to strike a deal to sell the estate. Béatrice and Jacques join the conversation, and Jacques says he hopes Mathieu will soon be calling him stepfather. Omar looks rather stunned by the turn of events and makes his excuses.

Manon gives Hadrien a birthday gift. She says it's a book their mother read to them, but he says he doesn’t remember and stomps off.

Alba finds some drugs, which we’re guessing she intends to use to make it appear Jacques is dead. She mixes the drugs into the champagne. But then the chief cop arrives and knocks it out of her hand. He tells her about her adopted dad being in a coma after driving into a tree. Manon steps in as the cop tries to drag Manon off.

Manon tries to talk to Alba, but she gets a text from the kidnapper telling her to hurry up. Manon tries to look at Alba’s phone, but Alba pushes her away, and Manon marches off. "Hurry up, 22 minutes left," reads the latest text. "Jacques’ life against Leo’s".

Béatrice and Jacques have a highly awkward dance! She says it's over. He says in that case the children will find out her gambling addiction ruined Arnaud, and that she knew about Alba’s existence for months. She walks off. Mathieu and Béatrice argue. Alba has a second go at spiking champagne.

She finds Leo

Mathieu gives a speech to the audience. His speech becomes muddled as he talks about his father. The audience looks awkward. Omar leaves. Jacques takes over the speech. He hands the microphone over to Béatrice to share their happy news. She looks anything but happy! He announces that he and Béatrice are getting married. Mathieu walks off.

"Now we know why you've been asked to kill him," says Valentin about the news that Jacques is marrying Béatrice.

Alba goes to speak to Jacques and tries to hand him the spiked glass of champagne. But he says he's drunk enough. However, he mentions that Arnaud has "a magnificent Armagnac" hidden away. Alba goes to fetch it.

Lucie turns up and sits down with a depressed Mathieu. They argue once more. Mathieu says he's a shit dad, son, and brother. Well, we can't argue with him there. Lucie says things have to change, and she needs to know she can trust him. She adds there's someone he should meet.

Alba and Valentin search for the Armagnac. She finds it and they spike it. But then Béatrice walks in! She throws Valentin out. Alba says this isn’t how it looks, and Béatrice considers and lets her leave.

Alba gets another text saying she has just four minutes left to kill Jacques. She runs and gets the gun from the car. She walks with the gun back into the party as everyone watches the fireworks. She points the gun at Jacques, but then notices he has the spiked glass of Armagnac. She lowers her gun. Béatrice turns and gives her a knowing look. Manon also turns around.

Jacques suddenly collapses. Alba gets a congrats text from the criminal mastermind. She's also given Leo's location.

Béatrice is alone, but then someone who is a doctor walks in with Lucie. It’s the woman Lucie met earlier. Mathieu walks in. Turns out Jacques is dead! Luie gives her a tablet and a drink and says it will make her feel better. She starts speaking, but then gets sleepy. The doctor says it’s standard for a transfer! Lucie then chillingly tells her mother she did warn her.

The police arrive it appears at where the officer was shot. A car explodes.

Alba and Valentin find a van. Alba frees Leo and Noor from the van. But then Noor says, "Alba, it's him!" And they turn to see Valentin pointing a gun at them. "I'm sorry,” he says and the episode ends.

I'm hooked on every twist and turn as we follow Alba (Ava Baya), a young mother who flees her controlling father to start a new life with her young son Leo.

With little money, she’s delighted when she gets a mysterious text offering her a job interview picking flowers at a vast estate.

But when she arrives, the boss, Arnaud, says he didn't ask her to come for an interview. He does, though, give her the job, but then asks when she's going to stop pretending about why she’s really here and says she should meet him first thing the next morning!

However, when Alba shows up for their appointment, she finds him in a pool of blood, dying. He's been murdered, and she's now the chief suspect!

She then faces a battle of wits against Arnaud's manipulative widow Beatrice (played by two-time Oscar nominee Isabelle Adjani), who's hellbent on making sure Alba is behind bars. Did Beatrice kill her husband? Or was it another member of her poisonous family, including her hideous son Mathieu? And why on earth is Beatrice's granddaughter Manon so keen to help Alba? And what about Alba? Can we really trust her?

It’s a great set up and Alba is very much at the heart of the show, trying to solve who killed Arnaud. The cops are always lurking in the background, but it seems to be up to Alba to find the truth about this bizarre family.

What I love about Under a Dark Sun is that you're really unsure where it will go next. There are a couple of moments when I gasped in surprise as something shocking happened. I even rewound one episode to double-check that something really did happen!

It reminds me a little of Netflix's recent Nordic noir hit The Glass Dome, with a female central character who very much feels alone in the world. It also shares the same sense of claustrophobia. But Under a Dark Sun has far more humor, with Isabelle Adjani getting the majority of the best lines as caustic Béatrice.

The whole six-part series also looks great, having been shot on the French Riviera. So, give it a whirl and you won't be disappointed.

It has been announced today, Wednesday, July 9, that the highly acclaimed thriller Code of Silence has been renewed for a second season by ITV, and filming gets underway next year.

Code of Silence season 1 featured Rose Ayling-Ellis as deaf caterer Alison Woods, who is drawn into a dangerous investigation to lip-read conversations between a gang of criminals for the police. Soon, Alison finds her world is turned upside down as her life becomes increasingly more complicated.

The first series, which boasts an impressive all-star cast including Kieron Moore, Charlotte Ritchie, Andrew Buchan, Nathan Armarkwei Laryea, Joe Absolom, and Fifi Garfield, received four and five-star reviews. The series was described as 'a landmark moment for inclusion and representation' and hailed as 'the must-watch thriller of the year.'

Rose Ayling-Ellis’s performance was particularly praised, while the production team and ITV were recognised for delivering a drama with genuine impact and talkability.

The series captivated audiences, with the first episode watched by 7.5 million viewers, and over 20 million streams have been recorded across the full box set since it launched on May 18, 2025.

Fans who have watched the first season will know that the ending of the series leaves plenty of scope for a second season, but where will we see Alison's story heading this time?

The good news is Rose is back as Alison for the second season, and she couldn't be happier: “I’m so proud that Code of Silence has been recommissioned. Netflix has added Under a Dark Sun, a tense new French thriller series.

At just six episodes, it's perfect for a speedy binge-watch and is sure to appeal to fans of great recent European dramas like The Åre Murders and Secrets We Keep.

While those shows were set in Scandinavia, we're off to the French Riviera for Under a Dark Sun, which sees a young woman, Alba (Ava Baya) become the prime suspect in a murder case.

Teasing the plot, the makers say: "A young mother on the run finds an unexpected opportunity to bounce back by becoming a picker in a prestigious flower farm in Provence. But the mysterious death of the family patriarch of the company casts her under the spotlight as the prime suspect.

"As she grapples with the mounting accusations, she uncovers a shocking revelation — she's the unexpected beneficiary of the late patriarch's estate, unearthing her deeply-rooted connections to this affluent lineage."

The trailer sees Alba face fierce questioning from the police, who challenge her that inheriting a vast fortune gives her a great motive for murder.

Star Ava Baya told France Net Infos: "Alba is a mother wolf. If you touch her son, she bites! Her determination is what I really liked about this character. In fact, she's a young woman fighting against injustice, against a system that wants to crush her.

"She's also fighting against a crazy family that wants to prove her guilty. And Alba does everything she can to protect her son and her past, always. It was a real role of character. And I really liked her determination, above all."

Under a Dark, which looks fabulous, having been filmed on the French Riviera, certainly boasts a great cast, including two-time Oscar nominee Isabelle Adjani. The 70-year-old star was nominated for the Best Actress award for The Story of Adele H. and Camille Claudel.

Ava Baya added she was nervous working with such a big star. "She's played incredible characters. Since I was somewhat apprehensive, I prepared a lot. I learned my lines a lot, and in many different ways. But when I arrived on set for the first time and saw her, I realized she was very open and very funny. And she's a real hard worker. I really appreciated that after so many years in the film, she continued to work. She's truly an example to me. "

The show is created and written by Nils-Antoine Sambuc, who created the popular French mystery series Blood of the Vine, which was set in the world of wine.

Horror and slice of life are two anime genres that don't often meet, but the new Netflix series The Summer Hikaru Died — released today on Netflix (Saturday, July 5) — makes a strong case for them being such a perfect blend that you'll wonder why they haven’t always gone together.

Based on the manga of the same name by writer and illustrator, Mokumokuren, The Summer Hikaru Died combines elements of body horror and body-swap comedies and explores the friendship between Yoshiki (voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi) and the titular Hikaru (voiced by Shuichiro Umeda).

Following a solo hiking accident, Hikaru tragically dies from his injuries. However, much to Yoshiki’s bemusement, Hikaru later returns from his adventure unscathed — but there is something different about him. This Hikaru looks like the real one, and has all the same memories Yoshiki’s lost friend had, but there is a darkness in him that might just be impossible to contain.

So why am I particularly excited for this series? Well, the manga has already garnered a pretty impressive critical reaction, earning nominations at the American Manga Awards in 2024 and 2025. Based on this and the reactions from fans of the manga, there is plenty to be excited about in The Summer Hikaru Died. Fans and reviewers rave about the relatable characters in particular — the friendship between Yoshiki and Hikaru has an unignorable queer subtext that readers loved, even though their relationship is never explicitly said to be romantic.

While the full-color art style of the anime series differs from the stark black-and-white of the manga serial, early glimpses in the trailer show that the unique art style will still effectively translate from page to screen. This is particularly evident in the beautiful patterns used to show Hikaru’s metamorphosis into something otherworldly. Speaking to An An, creator Mokumokuren talked about his influences, saying, "I feel like I'm influenced by the works of directors such as Koji Shiraishi and Guillermo del Toro, as well as stylish horror movies from overseas."

In a series that deals with a character who has seemingly been reincarnated from the dead, you can expect a little weirdness in The Summer Hikaru Died, but there is a subtlety to the strangeness that means it is one you’ll want to keep both eyes on — and possibly return to for repeat watches. It toys with the psychological idea of the “uncanny valley” — something that looks real, but there is also something just a little … off. Not only is this something that is evident in Hikaru’s character, but it is woven through the immersive soundscape. The sounds of the cicada insects are lifelike, but not quite, and the sound of the wind could just be the wind, but it could also be whispers of something more sinister.

Expect twists and turns as The Summer Hikaru Died explores grief, love, acceptance, and what it means to be human … plus the pitfalls of being a teenage boy whose best friend just turned into some kind of mythical entity.

The Survivors is a gripping new thriller series on Netflix, which is set in the stunning landscape of Tasmania and based on the bestselling novel by Jane Harper.

The show follows Kieran Elliot, whose life was changed forever 15 years ago when two people close to him drowned in a terrible storm, while a young woman also went missing.

But, as Kieran returns to his childhood home with his new family in tow, the past resurfaces when a woman is found murdered after digging into the 15-year-old mystery.

With the community once again rocked by tragedy, the investigation not only threatens to uncover old mysteries but also reveals a secret killer amongst them.

Here is everything that happens in The Survivors episode 6...

The final episode of the series opens with a flashback to the day Gabby, Finn and Toby died. We see young Mia and Gabby arguing about the fact that Gabby is going to a party and is off to buy booze, but Mia doesn't think it is a good idea. As they part ways after a fight, Brian sees Gabby walking alone and warns her there is a storm coming and offers her a lift home, but she just asks where Kieran is and tells him she will be fine. We see Gabby get on Toby and Finn's boat and put her rucksack in the dry box (just where Geoff told Trish he had found it) - all while a huge storm comes in.

In the present day, Kieran is asking his mom why she doesn't want to find out more about the claims that Gabby was on Finn and Toby's boat. Verity tells him he seems adamant to pin the blame on his dead brother, but soon a huge argument erupts where long-buried truths come out, with Verity blaming Kieran for leaving right after his brother died, and Kieran finally admitting to his mom that he went to Sydney because Brian told him to, otherwise the blame Verity was putting on Kieran would ruin him. Verity asks Brian if this is true, and he admits it is - but when Kieran asks his mum why she finds it so hard to love him, she can't answer and walks off.

Sue interviews Julian about his argument with Bronte, but he calls her a trauma tourist, trying to dig up information on the terrible things that have happened in Evelyn Bay. Later, Alex suggests that whoever buried the camera probably also buried the laptop, and that whatever Bronte found out about Gabby's death is on that laptop.

Having got a search warrant, the police turn up at Julian's house. Soon, they are digging up the garden to see if they can find the laptop. Meanwhile, at the police station, Sue is looking at the videos and images Bronte's parents sent over from her cloud, and they find videos of George, and quickly connect him to the images of Bronte's stalker by recognising his jumper.

Mia visits George, and he tells her he has something to show her. He also has all the footage from Bronte's cloud that her parents passed on to him, and he shows her videos of Bronte retracing Gabby's final moments. On the day Bronte died, she went to the caves that Kieran and Olivia got stuck in, and she has photos of names scratched into the rocks. One is Toby's name and the other is Gabby's - with the date of February 2009, the same time that she died. As they try and work out whether this means Gabby might have been in the caves the day the storm came in, George crosses a line when he stares at Mia and tells her how beautiful she is. She is freaked out by his unwanted attention and leaves.

Mia calls Kieran as she tries to get away from George's house, and she sends him the photo of the name carving, but he can't read the exact date carved into the rocks. She knows this means that if Gabby was in the caves, she couldn't have been in the boat, and therefore Finn and Toby aren't to blame for her death. Kieran says he is going to go and check out the caves, but Mia asks him to be careful as it is dangerous.

As the police question George, who admits to stalking Bronte, not killing her, Kieran and Sean head to the caves to see what they can find. The pair climb through rocks with head torches on, but Sean tries to make Kieran go the wrong way, and when they find the place where Gabby had scratched her name, they find it has been recently scratched out.

Meanwhile, Verity is with Julian, talking about the boys, when Mia calls and tells her that she is worried about Kieran as he is taking too long at the caves. She gets off the phone and asks Julian why he was so sure that Gabby wasn't on the boat with Toby and Finn the day of the storm, and it turns out that Gabby was in the caves with Sean on the day of the storm.

Meanwhile, in the caves, the penny drops with Kieran that it was Sean who was in the caves with Gabby, and Sean promises he didn't hurt Gabby, but that she was looking for Kieran and so Sean offered to take her to him in the caves. In a flashback, we see Gabby putting her bag in the dry locker on the boat before going to the caves, where Gabby scratches her name in the rocks. While they are there, Sean tries to kiss Gabby and she tells him she doesn't like him like that, which upsets him. Gabby tells him she wants to go home, but doesn't know how to get out of the caves, so Sean offers to show her, but with his pride dented, he rushes out of the caves and leaves her there to get lost. As the storm comes in, we see Gabby drown as the tide rises while she is trapped in the caves.

In the present day, Sean is explaining to Kieran that when Gabby's bag washed up onto the beach and everyone assumed that she had been swept off a cliff, it was like it never happened. Meanwhile, Julian is explaining to Verity why he covered the whole thing up, telling her that he had already lost Toby in the storm and couldn't face losing Sean, too and so told his son to pretend that the whole thing with Gabby never happened. She is sickened that he has been keeping this a secret all this time, but Julian tells her it doesn't matter where Gabby drowned. However, Verity says the truth does matter, especially to Gabby's mother, Trish.

Verity asks Julian if he did something to Bronte, after all, he collected Brian from the beach that night so was in the area and it would make sense that he would be trying to protect Sean. But he is adamant he didn't do anything wrong. When Liam gets home, he sees Julian grabbing Verity and she tells him that they need to go to the police.

In the cave, a distraught Kieran tells Sean that he should have told him the truth about Gabby and that he can't believe he has been holding onto this for so many years. Kieran tells Sean they need to tell Trish the truth about how her daughter died, but Sean is adamant that he can't, and that is when Kieran realises Sean is holding his torch... the one that he lent to Bronte.

Kieran asks Sean when he got his torch back, and we see a flashback to the night Bronte was killed that Sean went to get the torch, but while he wast at Bronte's house, she asked him if he would go to the beach with him as she wanted to photograph something but didn't eant to go alone at night.

As she is showing Sean the images on her camera on the dark beach, she reveals the one with Gabby's name scratched in the rocks and by the way he reacts, she realizes that he knows more about her death than he has let on. When she confronts him, he hits her over the head with his torch, killing her. When he realizes she is dead, he drags her body into the sea so it looks like she has drowned, but he is interrupted by Brian, who is on one of his nighttime walks. It is Sean's torch that Brian recalled seeing and as Brian is blinded by the torchlight, Sean runs away - and that is when Brian sees Bronte in the shallow water and tries to save her.

In the present day, Kieran is putting two and two together as Sean tells him what happened, and he works out that Sean is the one responsible for the graffiti and framing Brian by putting the camera in his boathouse.

Sue and Alex discover a match from the camera dirt and Ash's house, but with Ash having an alibi for the night Bronte was killed, they realise their prime suspect is now Sean. At the same time, Liam and Verity arrive at the station and discover that Sean is now a wanted man, and Verity tells the police he is at the caves with Kieran.

The police race to the caves and Liam and Verity follow, but inside Sean and Kieran are fighting.... Kieran gets the upper hand but can't bring himself to drown his friend and lets him go, not realising Sean has a rock under the water, which he uses to smash Kieran over the head.

As Liam, Verity and Mia wait outside the caves, desperate for news, they finally see the police emerge with someone and it is Sean in cuffs. They have a long and anxious wait, but eventually Kieran comes out of the cave with the help of the police, covered in blood but alive.

Time jumps forward, and we see the police find Bronte's laptop in Ash and Sean's garden, while they also unearth Gabby's skeleton in the caves. Meanwhile, Sean is charged with murder.

Sue goes to see Brian and Verity, and apologises for thinking Brian was guilty of murder, and tells them all the charges have been dropped. Mia tells Kieran he should stay in Tasmania with his parents until they have settled into their new house in Hobart - he asks her to stay with him, and she agrees.

Later, everyone gathers on the beach to remember Bronte and Gabby, and Kieran tells his parents they are planning to stay for as long as they want them there, and Verity is thrilled to have her family together again.

Bronte's parents are also at the memorial and hand Trish Bronte's scrapbook that she made all about Gabby, which Trish loves. Olivia hands out little bunches of flowers and they all throw them into the sea in memory of Bronte and Gabby.

As the episode comes to a close, we see Bronte on her home video that she recorded about her investigation into Gabby's death and she signs off telling the viewers that she is looking forward to going home, going back to school and is excited for what's next... a future that she never got to live.

The penultimate episode opens with a flashback to Gabby and Mia arriving at a house party with older kids. Gabby wants to go and see Kieran, Toby and Finn, while Mia thinks they should just go home. Soon Gabby goes off with Finn and Toby to get a beer, leaving Mia alone.

In the present day, Verity thanks Kieran for all he has done in working out what Brian was trying to say to them. She tells him she will stay with Brian and try to get him out of jail, while he needs to go home to Evelyn Bay, get Audrey back to her mum, and to represent the family at the memorial football match for Finn and Toby.

At home, Kieran goes into Finn's room to find his football jersey so he can wear it in his memory for the football match. Mia arrives and tells him about the photo of Gabby on Finn and Toby's boat. He says lots of people went on their boat and it doesn't mean anything, but Mia disagrees and wants to tell someone about the new evidence she has found.

Olivia goes to see Ash and tells him that she took the phone to the police. He is cross, thinking that she did it for Kieran, but when she says there is still something he isn't telling her, he denies it and punches a glass door in anger as she leaves.

The police go through Bronte's phone and take Ash in for questioning. They ask him for his phone to confirm that he was at home at midnight when she was killed, and not at Bronte's house selling her weed, like his messages suggest.

Alex is convinced Brian is innocent and was trying to save Bronte, and he thinks that Ash framed him, knowing that he was a suspect, and planted the camera in his boathouse. Sue asks Alex to get forensics to see if they can get a soil match from the camera and Ash's house.

The next morning, Olivia and Kieran meet up, and she tells him she is sorry that she has always let him take the blame for Finn and Toby's deaths, and that she is sorry for calling them that day, because if she hadn't, they would still be alive.

Olivia asks Kieran if he ever wonders what their lives would have been like had that day never happened, and if they would still be together. He tells her he does sometimes, but the day did happen, and there's nothing they can do to change that. They are sitting really close and looking very intimate as Mia gets home and sees them. She is upset to see them looking so cosy, especially now she knows they were once an item, and drives off with Audrey over to Trish's house.

While she is there, she shows Trish the picture of Gabby on Finn and Toby's boat, and tells her that Gabby always used to say she was seeing an older man, but that Mia thought she was doing it to annoy her. Trish says that she could be onto something and knew her daughter had secrets, but maybe this is why she ran away. She calls Geoff to see if he knew anything about Gabby having a fling with one of the older boys, as he was their footie coach, but he has a confession to make. He tells Trish that when the boys' boat was searched after the storm, he found Gabby's backpack in the dry locker. He admits that becasue it wouldn't change a thing - Finn, Toby and Gabby would still be gone - he didn't tell anyone and threw the backpack into the sea, knowing it would wash up on the beach. He says that finding the backpack meant that they could close the investigation he was in charge of. He tells her she can report him if she wants to, but that he is convinced that Gabby drowned on that boat at the same time as Finn and Toby, leaving Trish devastated.

While Chris is at the police station looking through the Surf N' Turf CCTV that he has finally got his hands on, Verity arrives home with Brian, having got him out on bail after Kieran worked out his dad was trying to save Bronte, not kill her. Brian hugs his son as he gets out of the car, and in a rare show of affection, Verity also hugs Kieran, thanking him for helping to get his dad out of jail.

Over at Trish's house, she shows Olivia the photo of Gabby on Toby and Finn's boat, and she is shocked, promising she didn't know that her little sister was hanging around with older boys. When Trish leaves Olivia and Mia alone, Olivia apologizes to Mia for getting close to Kieran, promising that nothing is going on and that they are connected by nothing but grief.

The day of the memorial football game arrives, and the whole bay is there to remember Finn and Toby. Verity is annoyed when some of the town's residents give Brian a hard look, still convinced he is the one who killed Bronte, while Sue and Alex are there to oversee the event and watch their suspects closely.

Julian and Verity make speeches about Finn and Toby, but while Trish listens to the community celebrate the opening of the football club house in the boys' memory, she is upset that no one is remembering Gabby.

As the footie game continues, Trish can't take it anymore and goes over the Julian and Verity, telling them that Gabby was on the boys' boat and asks what two grown men were doing with a child. She reveals all about the backpack and Geoff throwing it into the sea, stitching him up, and making a huge scene as the football grinds to a halt as the argument escalates.

Soon, everyone is fighting in the stands and also on the pitch as Ash picks a fight with Kieran, annoyed that the phone got handed in, and tells him he isn't welcome in Evelyn Bay anymore.

Later, after the fighting has died down, Ash goes to see Olivia and tells her where he really was the night Bronte was killed. He admits that seeing her with Kieran made him jealous, and so he slept with a random tourist to make himself feel better. He tells her he is sorry and did it because he has always known he isn't good enough for her. He asks what he can do to put things right, but Olivia is furious and tells him to get out and that they're over.

Back at home, Kieran gets out of the shower to find Mia packing. She tells him she has changed her flight and is going home, but wants to go alone as she needs time to think.

Meanwhile, Chris is looking at the CCTV from the Surf N' Turf and he spots Bronte having an argument with Julian out the back of the bar. He shows Sue, and she is pleased they have a new lead.

Did Julian kill Bronte?

The Survivors is a gripping new thriller series on Netflix, which is set in the stunning landscape of Tasmania and based on the bestselling novel by Jane Harper.

The show follows Kieran Elliot, whose life was changed forever 15 years ago when two people close to him drowned in a terrible storm, while a young woman also went missing.

But, as Kieran returns to his childhood home with his new family in tow, the past resurfaces when a woman is found murdered after digging into the 15-year-old mystery.

With the community once again rocked by tragedy, the investigation not only threatens to uncover old mysteries but also reveals a secret killer amongst them.

Here is everything that happens in The Survivors episode 4...

The fourth episode opens with another flashback - this time to Brian teaching the kids, including a young Mia and Gabby, how to do CPR on the beach. Gabby comments that it is only the tourists who drown in the sea, but Brian tells her that while that might be the case, he would prefer it if she stayed alive. The time then returns to the present, and Brian is in a cell, having been arrested for Bronte's murder.

As Mia walks home, she is hounded by the press, who want to know more about Brian's arrest. Meanwhile, Kieran is on the phone to his mom, who is at the lawyers, as she hasn't been allowed to go and see Brian yet.

Sue and Alex are at the police station and they talk about how there were no prints on the camera found in Brian's boathouse, but that there was dirt on the lens. Alex reminds Sue that they need to treat Brian with care because of his medical condition. In his cell, Sue questions Brian and asks if Verity has been helping him... but he takes her literally and says yes, because she helps him get dressed.

Liam is trying to leave the house to go and see Verity, but Julian has blocked him in with his car and says Verity is in Hobart with Geoff. Chris arrives with a police warrant to get the bar CCTV from the night that Bronte was killed, and Julian reminds him that it is old and practically broken, but Chris says their IT team will be able to help, annoying Julian.

Trish comes round to see Kieran with some dinner for the family, and fusses around him, cleaning up and making tea. Olivia is with her and she asks, out of earshot of her mom, if he is okay. He is worried about his dad and asks Olivia if she knows anything that could help Brian. She admits she has Bronte's phone, but she won't hand it in as it will get Ash in trouble because he used to deal drugs to Bronte and wasn't very discreet. He begs her to hand it in as it could have something on there to help his dad, but she refuses. He tells her that she 'owes him' because he has never told anyone about what happened 'that day' - not even Mia. She is stopped in her tracks and tells him that while she is grateful for everything he has done for her in the past, she still won't go to the police with the phone.

Verity comes home and is pleased to see Trish and Olivia there, but things are awkward when Kieran asks her about what happened with the lawyers, and she says they are looking at cross-contamination with the DNA and that it could have been a mix-up. She is putting on an easy breezy front, pretending all is well, and asks Trish and Olivia to stay for dinner and opens wine.

Kieran needs to get out of the house, so he goes to see Ash and Sean - he begs Ash to hand the phone in, but he says he is looking at 2 years in jail if he does, and there might not even be anything helpful on there.

Meanwhile, Trish, Verity, Mia and Olivia have dinner and make small talk about the memorial football game, until Verity starts talking about Mia being a mother, and they're reminded about the children they have both lost. Soon, Verity has had too much wine and accuses Mia of thinking Brian is guilty. They start arguing, but as they do, a photographer appears at the front door and takes photos of them through the window. Mia chases him down the road and into his car, and Verity is so overwhelmed by the whole thing that she breaks down in Mia's arms.

Over at Sean and Ash's house, Ash comments that Bronte was always at George's house. Kieran says he bets there are messages from him on the phone, and tells Ash he will play a game of ping pong with him, and the winner gets the phone. Ash agrees as he is a better player. Ash wins, and tells Kieran that they need to work out who really killed Bronte so that they can get Brian out of prison. They all head over to George's house to see if he is the one who spray painted Brian's boathouse, but they make lots of mess because they're drunk and all they find is a dark room in his garage, but no paint. George catches them and fights Ash, telling them that if he finds them on his property again, he will call the police.

The following morning, Kieran wakes early and goes to the beach with Audrey. Mia finds them there and asks if he is okay, but he tells her he has a confession to make. He tells her he wasn't in the caves alone the day Finn and Toby died, and that he was with Olivia. They had secretly been seeing each other, and then the storm came from nowhere. Olivia made it out okay, and it was her who called Finn and Toby to save Kieran, meaning he has been covering for her all these years. Mia is stunned and asks why he is only just telling her this now, but he says he didn't want the town to turn on Olivia like they have with him.

Mia goes for a walk, and when Kieran gets home with Audrey, Verity says that Brian has been charged and they're moving him to jail, but they will have 15 minutes with him before he is transferred. With Mia not answering her phone, Verity says they will have to take Audrey with them. Meanwhile, Mia is at George's house. She asks him if he thinks there is a link between Gabby and Bronte's deaths, and he says he doesn't know, but shows her the dark room that Bronte set up in his garage. He also tells her that the book he is writing at the moment is about Evelyn Bay and all the deaths that have happened there.

After a conversation with her mum, Olivia realises she has to do the right thing and hand Bronte's phone in, so she goes to the police station and gives it to Chris. He asks if she has the laptop, but she says only the phone, and that she panicked and should have brought it in earlier.

Over at George's house, Mia is going through a box of photos from the dark room in the garage, and there are some that Bronte took of George, and others of Mia with Gabby when they were little. There is another one of Gabby on a boat just before she died, but Mia has never seen it before, and wonders who took it. She asks George if she can keep it, and he says yes.

Later, Mia compares it to a photo of Finn and Toby on their boat and she realises it is the same boat Gabby is on in the photo. Was she with them the night they died?

Kieran and Verity go to see Brian, but he isn't responding to them and barely knows they are there. As Kieran is trying to get through to his dad, Brian doesn't talk but crosses his arms. At first, Kieran thinks he is getting ready to be cuffed by the police, but then he realises crossed arms is a diving sign for a swimmer submerged, and he realises his dad saved Bronte, and that is why her body wasn't washed out to sea, and why his DNA was on her body.

In a flashback, we see Brian pulling Bronte's lifeless body out of the water and doing CPR on her, but it is too late, because she is already dead.

But if Brian didn't kill Bronte, who did?

Here is everything that happens in The Survivors episode 3...

The third episode opens with a flashback to Finn, Toby, Kieran, Verity and Brian all on a boat together about to go diving. Finn tells Kieran that he and Toby are thinking of adding a tour of the caves to their boat trip business and asks him to go and scope it out for them. Kieran agrees, but Brian and Verity make him promise that he will go at low tide, as it is dangerous.

In the present day, Kieran and Verity paint over the graffiti on the garage. Verity notices that it is unlocked, despite Kieran promising that he locked it the previous day.

Meanwhile, the police find Marco on a campsite called Three Capes and say they want to question him about Bronte's murder; however, he runs away, and they have to chase him through the campsite. They take him in for questioning, but he refuses to answer much and denies a DNA sample. But once he has left, they put the glass he drank water from into an evidence bag.

Brian goes in to be questioned by the police later that day, and they take his DNA too. Verity is worried about what he might say due to his dementia, and so she and Kieran go with him. Brian can't remember much apart from seeing a bright light on the beach the night Brontë was killed. As the police press him for answers, he gets distressed and then confused, thinking that it is 15 years ago and Finn has just died. He tells the police he 'saw her on the beach and told her to go home as a storm was coming' but Verity explains he is confusing Bronte with Gabby, who died the same night as their son.

Meanwhile, Mia goes to see George after Trish sent her, as he was friends with Bronte. They talk about Bronte and her fixation on Gabby's death, but while they are talking, Ash turns up and starts stealing a bird bath from the garden. George goes out to confront him, but he says it was his grandmother's, just like the rest of the house. George points out that he paid for the house fair and square, but Ash is furious and tells him to go home to the mainland.

At the police station, Alex and Sue quiz a local officer about Brian, asking for his connection to Gabby. He explains that Brian was the last person to see her alive before she was swept out to sea by a freak wave. He sings Brian's praises, telling them he is an all-around nice guy and a respected community member. Sue asks who interviewed Brian 15 years ago, and he says it was a now-retired sergeant called Geoff.

Brontë's parents arrive to speak to the police about their daughter's death. They ask if she mentioned Liam or Marco to them. They have never heard of Liam, but know Marco, and it turns out Marco and Bronte didn't meet in Evelyn Bay, but in Canberra, where they dated for a bit before she broke things off.

Olivia gets home to find the house has been turned upside down by the police. She goes into Bronte's room to hide her phone somewhere, but is interrupted by the police, who have brought Bronte's parents to the house to collect some of her things. They meet, and Brotne's mum, Andrea, says that Bronte talked about Olivia all the time and thanks her for being a friend to their daughter. Olivia leaves them to it and goes to see Ash.

Olivia tells Ash that she failed to drop the phone off in Bronte's room, but Ash says that he will sort it and asks her for the phone. Sean is home and Olivia tells her that she feels bad that Bronte's parents were so nice to her when she didn't really like Bronte becasue of the way she was obsessed with digging up the past about Gabby.

She double checks that Sean was definitely with Ash the night Bronte was killed, and he says they were at home playing cards... but when she asks if that's what Ash asked him to tell the police, Ash comes out of the shower before Sean can answer.

Verity asks Kieran to go for a dive with her, but when they get there, he sees that Liam and Sean are also coming. Things are awkward between the men, but Verity encourages them to make up. At the same time, Brian is out getting ice cream with his friend Geoff, and he has a flashback to the day Gabby vanished and he recalls that she was looking for Kieran, but can't remember why.

As Verity, Kieran, Liam and Sean go diving, Kieran starts having flashbacks to the night his brother died and has a panic attack. Struggling to breathe underwater, Kieran fights to get to the surface and makes it onto the boat, but when he does, he blames Liam for messing with his oxygen tank, and they argue. Verity intervenes and Kieran gets cross with her, having flashbacks to the day she blames him for his brother's death.

Marco tries to leave the country and head to the mainland, while the police fight to get the DNA results back so they can bring him back in for questioning. As the police track his whereabouts, they hold a press conference back in Evelyn Bay. Sue asks the town for help with their investigation into Brontë's death. She asks if anyone has seen her phone, computer and camera but Ash and Olivia keep quiet about having the phone.

Bronte's mother, Andrea, stands up to speak and begs everyone for their help. Brian starts to have flashbacks and asks Verity to take him home. The lab calls Alex and tells them they have a match for the hair found in Bronte's mouth, and soon they're in the car, heading to find their suspect. At the same time we see Marco board his flight, having managed to leave the island.

The police turn up at Brian and Verity's house and it is revealed that the DNA belongs to Brian and they arrest him on suspicion of murder.

As Verity tries to stop them taking her confused husband away, things only get worse when the police search the house and find Bronte's camera in the boatshed. As Brian is driven away by the police, all Mia and Kieran can do is watch with tears in their eyes.

Did Brian kill Bronte?

He's also not impressed by the way Cash handled his recent encounter with the River Boys gang, by letting his friend Tane Parata (Ethan Browne) get involved in the rescue mission.

However, Sergeant Langham is soon distracted by further details of the River Boys case, which mention witness Lacey Miller (Sophea Pennington).

WHY does Sergeant Langham unexpectedly ask Cash to bring Lacey in for further questioning, when the River Boys case is now closed?

Meanwhile, Lacey is supporting her now official boyfriend, Theo Poulos (Matt Evans), with his recovery.

Lacey still feels responsible for endangering Theo's life after he got mixed-up with her and her now ex-boyfriend, Gage Reynolds.

Lacey is in for a surprise when she is summoned to the Police Station by copper Cash.

Isn't the River Boys case officially closed now that Gage is behind bars?

But Lacey gets a blast-from-the-past when she arrives at the Police Station and comes face-to-face with the familiar looking new Sergeant...

Despite her previous run-ins with Lacey, Leah now realises she has Lacey to thank for helping to save Theo's life during his recent encounter with the River Boys gang.

With both Leah and Justin trying to build a bridge with Lacey, Theo also attempts to get to know her better.

As a rule, I really don’t watch shows like this. The idea of knowingly witnessing a lot of death is a hard choice to make, but when I heard the hype about how psychologically twisty it is throughout, I realised it was so much more and I’m really glad I listened.

Squid Game at first glance, is a torturous and sadistic nightmare. And pretty much no matter how you look at it, that's really what it is. But, if you delve deeper, it's a human experiment that breaks down every single part of a person to see how they'll react when faced with their own pretty much inescapable fate. A fate that they chose after their individual actions led them there. And then, when faced with the chance to become a hero or a villain in any given game, it's a shock or a relief to see the final path they choose.

After season 1 though, it seemed impossible that more episodes could be made given how unique the premise was. And, to be honest, I wasn’t sure if I could take another series of jaw-droppingly horrific deaths hidden under the guise of whimsical childhood games.

But, Gi-hun dramatically returned in season 2 for revenge – throwing himself back into the deadly games. So, I sat myself back down for what turned out to be, as I said in my Squid Game season 2 review, “another thrilling ride”.

Then came season 3 and having watched all six episodes, I’m going to find it really hard not to give anything away. Not only was season 3 full of more sickening twists and a whole lot of stabbing, but it was also surprisingly emotional. It turns out, in my own response to witnessing their trauma, I’d grown an attachment to the Squid Game characters through director Hwang Dong-hyuk’s incredible storytelling. So, watching the deaths in this final season was even harder.

And if there’s one thing Squid Game isn't, it's predictable. For season 3, Gi-hun is forced to continue the games following his failed escape plan, losing his close friend in the process and falling for the unknowing betrayal of Front Man, aka Player 001.

Then, there’s Guard 11 hoping to save a player she knew from outside the games. Oh, and add in that Front Man’s real-life brother is determined to hunt him down on the island. It’s a lot to pack into six episodes, but by no means did any one episode feel rushed.

I'm afraid to tell you that, by and large, the season 3 players are overwhelmingly nasty by nature. Fortunately, while there's a lot of background players that make decisions that I was seriously appalled by, the main characters they draw focus to throughout season 3 are, it seems, primarily good at heart. And there's some heartbreaking decisions that left me pausing the show and walking off for a few moments alone.

But as the games continued in their usual and predictably horrifying fashion, because ultimately that's what the show is about, I will say that there's a specific point when it all becomes a touch outlandish. If, of course, the proposition of murder games wasn't already too much for you.

Without giving too much away, an unexpected new player joins the games and their presence is pretty unbelievable (as are the VIPs' reactions to their arrival). But, without it, I fear the same emotional moments littered throughout the final season wouldn’t have been as harrowing. And in turn, I don’t think the season as a whole would’ve been as good.

There’s another outlandish moment though that I definitely could’ve done without. The final scene of the entire show leaves a door open that I really wish had been shut for good. Just as I felt there was hope for redemption for one particular character, fixing wrongs by doing the right thing finally, I’m not quite sure there is.

Ultimately, while I’m satisfied that some parts of the show were tied up in an albeit haunting red bow, I’ve got more questions that I want answered. And, knowing that this is the final season, I’m aware that I’ll never get that closure. But then, isn’t the sign of a great show one that leaves you thinking about it for years to come? And maybe I missed something… One day, when my heart is ready to take the drama, I’m sure I’ll watch it all over again.

Picking up where season 2 left off, Gi-hun, aka Player 456, and the remaining players must battle through the final deadly games to fight for their survival. With Gi-hun personally seeking his revenge against Front Man. Meanwhile, Jun-ho continues his search for the island, hoping to reunite with his brother and free any survivors before it's too late.

With the 45.6 billion won prize continuing to divide players, Front Man and the VIPs watch on as they take on game after game to pay off their debts in the outside world. But, at what real cost?

Here's a recap of everything that happened in Squid Game season 3 episode 6.

The final episode begins on Jun-ho boarding Player 246’s boat after killing the guards pursuing him. Player 246 is dressed like a guard, so they think he is one. When Jun-ho holds his gun up to him, Player 246 explains what's happened. Jun-ho knows to use the scanner, which confirms he’s a player. He tells Player 246 to show him where the games are and he points to the island barely visible in the fog.

Back at the final game, Player 333 asks Gi-hun if the baby is okay. She is. But then they’re prompted to move to the final round and head over the bridge. Player 333 gets there first and takes the pole from the middle of the platform. He turns to Gi-hun, still on the previous platform, and tells him to hand the baby over and stay put. Gi-hun tells him that if he did that, Player 333 would have to choose to kill himself or his own child on the final platform. He says he knows. Gi-hun only has five minutes to cross over. Meanwhile, a guard calls Front Man out of the VIP room.

Guard 11 is in Front Man’s office. She pours alcohol over the files in the archive and sets them on fire with a lighter. She holds her bleeding side where she’s been injured and pours more alcohol over the files. But, as she’s leaving, she notices files marked as lists. Meanwhile, as Player 333 demands the child, he steps nearer onto the bridge. Gi-hun tells him if he and the baby don’t make it across, he’ll lose. Player 333 suggests they all die together.

Elsewhere, an officer shows Front Man that there's a boat approaching on the radar. On the boat, Jun-ho says he’s called the coast guard while his teammate helps the injured Player 246. He tells them the coast guard will be there in a couple of hours and puts on the diving gear to head off solo. In the game room, Gi-hun tells Player 333 he’ll let him kill him on the platform, so the baby doesn’t have to die. Player 333 says he doesn’t believe him. Gi-hun says he swore to Player 222 that the child would be safe, so he has to trust him. Player 333 starts accusing Gi-hun of being with Player 222. Meanwhile, guard 11 is looking through the lists, they’re of all the guards. She finds herself.

Gi-hun lays the baby down on the bridge and Player 333 tells him to step back, so he does. There’s 40 seconds left. Player 333 uses the pole to pick up the baby and bring her over to his side. But, while he’s distracted, Gi-hun pulls the knife he was given by Front Man out of the murdered player behind him. With two seconds left, Gi-hun leaps over the bridge as it retreats. He’s armed with the knife and Player 333 picks up the pole.

In guard 11’s file, it explains how she defected from North Korea and worked as a performer at the amusement park. There’s a photo of her with her husband and daughter. It says that her husband was executed and her daughter is dead. Player 333 and Gi-hun fight and Player 333 knocks the knife out of Gi-hun’s hand. The button rises from the platform and it needs to be pressed before the final round officially starts. They fight and the pole gets thrown off the ledge. Gi-hun gets the knife, but Player 333 grabs the baby and dangles her over the edge. He threatens to drop her unless Gi-hun throws the knife to him and moves away. He agrees.

Once Gi-hun is far enough away, Player 333 puts the baby down on the platform, grabs the knife and starts stabbing at Gi-hun. He slices him in the side and stabs him in the arm, but he's wrapped his jacket around it to protect himself. They both roll off the edge. Gi-hun has one hand on the platform and Player 333 is hanging onto him below. He falls but manages to grab onto Gi-hun's jacket, but then the jacket starts to rip and while Gi-hun holds onto it, Player 333 falls to his death. As Gi-hun pulls himself back onto the platform with the baby, he realizes the button to start the round was never pressed.

The coast guard arrives, but there’s a drone up in the sky watching from the island as it does. Meanwhile, Jun-ho arrives at a door under the island. While Guard 11 sits in Front Man’s office as the archives burn, holding a gun to her face to shoot. At the final game, Gi-hun steps on the button to begin the round. He’s given ten minutes. Guard 11 stops herself from shooting as she hears the baby crying on the screen in front of her from the game. There are three minutes left. Gi-hun stands on the edge, cradling the baby. Tears come to his eyes. He turns round and places the baby down. Then, he falls backwards and down to his death, sacrificing himself.

The game ends. An officer tells Front Man the Coast Guard ship is approaching and he orders an evacuation. Front Man presses a red button that starts a 30-minute timer. Meanwhile, Jun-ho is climbing a ladder and notices a bomb strapped to the wall with the same timer counting down. In Front Man’s office, Guard 11 puts her uniform back on, but uses the officer’s mask to access the elevator. Front Man goes to Gi-hun’s body as Jun-ho finds his way into his office. He sees Front Man on the screen arriving at the top of the pillar with the baby. He shoots at Front Man, breaking the screen but revealing a door behind it.

Jun-ho enters the VIP room, looking over the final game. Front Man is on the circle pillar, cradling the baby, and Jun-ho shoots through the glass, revealing where he is. He shouts to his brother, In-ho, and begs him to answer why he did it. In-ho turns away and descends down the lift. Meanwhile, cars and helicopters are leaving the island. Guard 11 is in one of the cars, still grasping her injured side. There’s 30 seconds left on the timer and the whole place is empty. The timer ends and the island is set ablaze. Jun-ho has escaped in time.

Squid Game season 3 ending explained

It cuts to a figure in a dark hallway. He shoots the lock off a door and enters. It’s Gin-hu’s Pink Motel where all his winnings are piled inside of the bedroom. It cuts to six months later at the amusement park where Guard 11 and Player 246 worked. But, Player 246 is back drawing portraits and he’s drawing Guard 11, though he doesn’t know who she really is. He tells her he thinks he recognises her. She tells him she used to work there, too. His daughter runs up and Guard 11 greets her. He asks how she knows his daughter and she says from when she was working there. He tells her she’s been getting a lot better. She steps up to leave, and as Player 246 says he hasn’t finished her portrait, she says she’ll be back later.

As Guard 11 gets back into her car, she’s called by a man, but she doesn’t know who he is. When she asks, he says it’s Park Man-cheol from South Men, North Women. He was helping her look for her daughter. He says someone has said they might have seen her daughter in China, but it hasn’t been confirmed yet.

Elsewhere, a prison is letting out inmates. Woo-seok has been released. Jun-ho and Woo-seok's friend are there to greet him. As they drive away, Jun-ho asks him what’s next for him. He says he doesn’t know now that he’s not looking for the recruiter anymore. Woo-seok asks Jun-ho what he’ll be doing, but he says he’s not a detective. Woo-seok asks him if he wants to work together. Jun-ho says they can’t be a loan shark without money. Woo-seok asks Jun-ho if he’s sure all of Gi-hun’s money is gone and Jun-ho says there was nothing left by the time he got there. Woo-seok wonders if it was Gi-hun who took it, not knowing that he had died.

When Jun-ho arrives back at his apartment alone, the baby is there wearing Player 222’s jacket. There’s a black envelope with a red ribbon placed on top of her. Inside, it says ‘Player 222 Winner’ with a bank card in Jun-ho's name. He takes it to a cashpoint and when it asks for his PIN, he enters 0222. It works and he sees the balance is 45.6 billion won.

Elsewhere, at an airport arrivals, Park Man-cheol, the man who helps reunite lost families, greets a woman and says she must be Sae-byeok’s mum. Sae-byeok was one of the players who died during Gi-hun's game and stood there waiting is her younger brother, Cheol. An elderly woman, Cheol’s adoptive grandmother, tells Cheol to say hello to his mother. He bows. She apologizes that it’s taken her so long. They hug, reunited. As Park Man-cheol looks up, he sees Guard 11 on the escalator. She’s boarding a plane to China. Park calls her and asks her if today is the day she flies out. She tells him she’s at the airport now and he apologizes that he couldn’t be there. He tells her he’s arranged for someone to meet her on the other side and hopes she finds her daughter.

Woo-seok and his friend arrive at the Pink Motel, Gi-hun’s place. Woo-seok says they’re going to fix it up. He says they’re the owner and head manager now. Woo-seok shows him where the money was. They wonder again who took it. It cuts to Los Angeles. A man in a suit approaches a house and rings the buzzer. A young girl answers, it’s Gi-hun’s daughter, and Front Man is waiting at the door. He asks if Seong Ga-yeong lives there. She replies that that’s her and asks him who he is. He says he’s an acquaintance of her dad. He says he has a gift for her from him. A black box with a red circle, triangle and square on top.

Ga-yeong asks if her dad sent the gift as a way to see how she’s doing. She tells Front Man to send a message to her dad telling him she stopped waiting to hear from him a long time ago. She says he can forget about her, but before she shuts the door, Front Man tells her that he has her father’s belongings and that he passed away. He says that before he died, he left the box of things for her. She takes it and he bows and leaves. Inside the box is Gi-hun's bloodied Player 456 jacket. A black envelope is on top with a red ribbon. She opens it and there’s a bank card inside with her name on.

As Front Man is being driven away through the streets of LA, he winds down his window at a standstill as he hears a noise. Down an alleyway, a woman in a suit (Cate Blanchett) is playing ddakji against a man. She wins and slaps him across the face. She looks to the side and sees Front Man watching her. She stares and gives a slight nod and smile. The man in the alleyway tells her they’ll play again. So, they do.

The penultimate episode opens on guard 11 reaching the vent on the side of the cliff. She shoots it, stopping the fan from rotating and allowing her to enter. Meanwhile, Gi-hun has returned to the main room. He holds the knife to Player 100’s neck. It cuts to a flashback of Front Man sitting in front of a man wearing a full owl mask. Front Man is wearing a suit labelled as Player 132 and he’s offered a knife by the masked man to go and kill the other players. The same as Front Man has done for Gi-hun. He goes back and stabs the remaining players to death. Gi-hun can’t do the same. Instead, he imagines Player 167 is there and she tells him that he’s a good person.

Guard 11 crawls through the vents while Player 246 tries to escape on the boat. It’s foggy and Jun-ho is driving the boat across the water, too. On the radio, someone speaks to Jun-ho. He’s told to give up. It’s his brother, Front Man. He tells him if he keeps looking for the games, he’ll die. Meanwhile, the players are all waking up. They’re told the final game will begin soon. Guard 11 makes it above an apartment and hears the shower running. She drops down into the room, but then the shower stops. She hides.

The final eight players ascend the stairwell to the final game. Guard 11 holds her gun up as the officer comes back into the room. He asks if she came alone and she says she’d never follow the order to bring the player back. He asks what she wants and she tells him to delete Player 246’s record. He does so on his computer, as instructed. She says she has to get rid of the records in his brain, but before she can shoot him, he tells her there’s hard copies in the archives in the Front Man’s office. Only him and Front Man have access.

The players arrive to the final game. There are three large pillars; triangle, circle and square. Meanwhile, guard 11 uses the officer to get to Front Man’s office. In the lift, the officer turns on her and tries to grab her gun. They begin to fight and continue as they reach Front Man’s office, wrestling into the room. In the game, the players are asked to proceed to the elevator. They all get inside. At the top, they are stood on the yellow square. The VIPs are watching from their viewing window and the game announcer says they’re playing Sky Squid Game.

The officer asks guard 11 why she’s doing what she’s doing. He says he knows her and Player 246 worked together at the amusement park. She says if Player 246 dies, so will his daughter. He scoffs that she’d do all this to protect a child when she abandoned her own. She begs him to let them go. He gets out a knife and tells her she crossed the line. They begin to fight again and she gets hold of the knife. He smashes a glass over her head. He tells her he didn’t just bring her there because they’re both from North Korea. He said he thought she’d understand him. He tells her he also lost the only person he cared about as he stabs her in the side. The control room call in on his walkie-talkie. He’s told they’re waiting to start the game. He tells them to proceed and he’ll be there soon.

He turns on the screen to let guard 11 watch the final game. He tells her he should’ve thrown her into the game too. He thought since she ditched her child to save herself, she was different like him. She crawls towards the elevator, so he picks up his knife and follows her. He says she can’t get use the elevator without his mask, but she manages to open the door and pick up the gun from the elevator and shoot him to death.

At the final game, the players are told the rules. There will be three rounds. First, the square pillar, then the triangle pillar and then the circle one. Each shape they have to play a pushing game. They are to push players off alive as a group. Then, they’ll move to the next pillar. Each round will continue the same. One or more players on each pillar has to die. If they don’t do it in the time limit, all players will be eliminated.

The players start to move towards Gi-hun and the baby. But, Player 125 is hallucinating that Thanos is hanging off the edge. Thanos tells him he missed him and needs help to get up. He says he has more pills in his necklace. As Player 125 goes to reach him, Thanos changes into Player 124 who grabs at his leg and asks for the pills. Then, it switches between the two men and he fights them both off. The announcer tells the players to press the button on the ground to start the game. They have 15 minutes.

Player 100 tells them to lose one each round, so they only have to get rid of three. They want to vote who to eliminate in each round. The six players look between Gi-hun and the baby and Player 125. They start to discuss eliminating the baby, Player 222, first. They tell Gi-hun the baby doesn’t have a chance. Player 333 objects. He says instead, they should kill Gi-hun because he’ll try and protect the kid at all costs, meaning he won’t let the baby go and they'll fall together. One of the players says they should push them both off, but another argues then they’d need to get rid of more than three players if they did that. They all look at Player 125. He starts to beg and then he starts screaming at them. There’s only four minutes left, but they can’t decide which player will actually push him off. Nobody wants to do it.

Then, Player 333 pulls the pole from the middle of the square out of the floor. He uses that to move towards Player 125 while keeping his distance. He pushes him off the edge as he imagines his friend that Player 124 killed holding his hand and falling with him. The other players congratulate Player 333. Meanwhile, the pursuit team are chasing Player 246 in his boat. Guard 11 is in Front Man’s office and opens a door, seeing the body of Player 001, Commander Oh, and his owl mask next to him. Another door is locked, so she shoots it open. Inside this room is another door to a stairwell. She descends and finds another locked door, which she shoots as well. Here, she finds all the hard copies in the archives.

For the final game, a bridge appears for the players to walk across to get to the triangle pillar. The VIPs contemplate how the players will separate Gi-hun and Player 222 to kill them between pillars. Before Player 100 presses the button to start, Player 333 stops him and says they need to separate Gin-hu and the baby before they start the timer. They vote to eliminate the baby next. Even Player 333 agrees. Player 353 pulls the pole from the pillar and asks Gi-hun to hang the baby on the end of the pole. They argue that they’ll push both of them off. But he says they’d have to pick another person to die on the next pillar.

Player 203 presses the button and the 15-minute timer starts. He says they should just push them both off. Gi-hun tells Player 353 to do it, but Gi-hun tells him they’re already talking about pushing Player 353 off next. He can’t do it. Player 203 tries to take the pole off him, but he won’t let go. They start struggling with the pole between them. As they argue, Player 333 says he has an idea. Meanwhile, guard 11 searches for Player 246’s file and finds it. As Player 246 continues his escape, the pursuit team starts firing at him. They shoot at his motor stopping the boat altogether.

At the game arena, the men are playing rock, paper, scissors. They play as a group with anyone in the minority losing, which is Player 100 and Player 336. Then they play each other and Player 336 loses meaning he has to get the baby. Meanwhile, the guards pull up to Player 246’s boat. As they go to shoot him, someone else shoots them to death. It’s Jun-ho and his teammate on their boat.

The men have tied all their jackets together and around Player 336's waist. He tells them not to let go of him. Player 333 tells him if he can’t get hold of the baby then to pull both of them into the center with him. He says he’ll push Gi-hun when he does. Player 336 walks towards Gi-hun. He tells him they’re going to draw lots and eliminate players collectively by pulling strips of fabric and whoever gets the shortest loses. He tries to lure Gi-hun in, but he refuses. He says to bring the lots to him.

When Player 336 asks for them, Player 100 says he needs to count again to be sure. Suddenly, Player 336 lunges forward and grabs Gi-hun, pulling him in as the men pull at the jackets. Gi-hun pulls out the knife Front Man gave him and cuts the jackets. He then holds the knife up to Player 336’s throat. Player 333 starts approaching from behind with the pole. He starts running and tells Gi-hun to get out of the way as he pushes Player 336 off the edge. He turns to Gi-hun and tells him he’s with him.

The remaining players say they don’t need to kill anyone else. So, then they suggest drawing the lots. They vote and four of them agree they should draw lots, with the majority, their idea wins. Player 333 says that they could betray them. They says he betrayed them and it was his suggestion to kill the baby in the first place. Then he admits to them all that he’s the father of the baby. The VIPs rejoice at the drama. One of them says Front Man bringing Gi-hun back was the best idea of all. Player 333 tells Gi-hun they should team up since they have weapons.

Suddenly the other players turn on Player 039 and start beating him up. Player 100 says they should beat him half to death and then carry him over the bridge. Then, at the next pillar, they can push him off. They continue to beat him and then break one of his legs. Gi-hun starts walking towards them with the knife. He tells them it’s not the right way to do it. Instead, they should draw lots. They try to beg with Player 333 to stop. But then they try and grab the pole from him and the knife from Gi-hun. A struggle starts between the players and Player 203 gets hold of the knife to try and stab Gi-hun. Player 333 manages to push Player 353 off the edge. And Gi-hun stabs Player 203 before he’s nearly strangled to death.

The baby is crying on the floor where Gi-hun left her safely. Player 100 remains with Player 309 still on the floor. They're now against Player 333, Gi-hun and the baby. Player 100 starts to beg as Player 333 walks towards him with the pole. Player 333 says they’ll get 15.2 billion each if he pushes Player 100 off and so, he does it. He turns around and sees Player 309 crawling towards the edge. Player 333 asks him not to fall because they can talk about it, but he does it anyway. That leaves Player 333, Gi-hun and the baby for the final round. A round in which one of them needs to be pushed off the edge.

The episode picks up on the fifth game, jump rope. Player 096 is waiting to push players off the bridge before they make it to the other side. He says to Gi-hun, it can just be the two of them left and then they can vote to leave, claiming half the prize pot each. He shoves another player off. Player 100 will be the next to reach the other side. As the players are suspended on the bridge with no-one wanting to cross, more start to fall off. Player 100 bargains with Player 096 and says he’ll help him knock the others off if he lets him over.

Player 349 wants to turn back, but as she forces the player behind her to go back, he falls off. She jumps her way back to safety. But, Player 203 kicks her off when she gets there. Player 125 takes the last pill from Thanos’s necklace. Gi-hun tells Player 096 to move out the way. He says he’ll push him from behind if he doesn’t. He moves and Player 100 makes it across. There’s only seven minutes left. Player 333 offers to help Player 222 across, but she refuses. She asks him why he killed Player 120 when she was helping her, but he argues that he didn’t know that's what she was doing. He was just trying to protect her, like he said he would.

He tells her he just wants to help them get out of there so they can have a life together. She shows him her swollen ankle and asks him if he’s going to carry her across. She tells him she created the baby and that baby has nothing to do with him. He leaves her sitting on the bench. As Gi-hun tries to help players get across, Player 096 knocks him to the ground. They struggle on the edge of the platform while more players fall off the bridge. Gi-hun throws Player 096 over his head and onto the bridge, getting him thrown off by the swinging rope as it knocks into him.

There’s only three minutes left. Player 125 is hallucinating on the bridge. Player 222 starts walking forward and Gi-hun tells her to stay there because he’s coming back for her. She watches as Player 333 lets another man fall to his death, jumping over him on the gap as he clings to the side. With one minute left, Gi-hun goes to head back to help Player 222. But, she limps to the edge and tells him not to come. She tells him that if he doesn’t survive, her baby will die, too and that she wants to watch over her. She walks off the edge and falls to her death. The game is over.

Elsewhere, the guards are scanned before they head out to the outer perimeter. While they scan guards 11 and 16 and send them outside, the officer watching orders the pursuit team to get ready. Meanwhile, the remaining players return to the main room. The VIPs discuss what they’ll do with the baby now. One suggests they eliminate it. Another argues that because Player 222 is gone, the baby should be too. But one argues that the baby crossed without her, so it should be independent. The VIPs can’t agree, so they ask Front Man. He suggests the baby competes as Player 222 in the next game. He says the voting and game will be more interesting if they do. The six VIPs agree.

Player 336 asks Player 353 if he can work out what the prize pot will be for the eight players remaining. He answers, 5.6 billion. Player 336 thinks that’s good enough to leave and 353 agrees. They look at Player 100 and say he owes 10 billion won, so he won’t leave. The guards enter to announce the results. 16 players were eliminated, so there’s nine left, making it 4.9 billion won each. The players argue there’s only eight players. The guards call out their numbers, including 222. They’re angry that the baby counts as a player. They want the baby’s share of the money and order for her to die. They start walking towards Gi-hun, demanding he hands over the baby. The guards fire a warning shot and say that physical violence between players is no longer allowed.

For reaching the final game, each player is given a box. At the police station, Woo-seok and his friend have been brought in for questioning. Woo-seok pleads with the officer and tells him he knows who Captain Park is, but the officer won’t believe him. He says they’re on an island that his team are trying to find. He takes out the photo of Captain Park and the recruiter and tries to explain what he did to his boss. The officer says he needs more information on the recruiter, but he says he doesn’t know who he is.

The officer instead says he’s looked into Woo-seok and starts listing his criminal convictions. He tells him that Captain Park was only convicted of illegal gambling and was issued a fine, other than that he’s clear. Meanwhile on the boat, Jun-ho points to the island on the map where he got shot. He says he used a tank of air to get there from the game’s location through an underground cave and that took about 40 minutes. They narrow down the search perimeter. Jun-ho says they’re running out of time and asks Captain Park for advice. He crosses out a section of the map and says the island won’t be there.

Back at the station, the officer wants to call Captain Park. Woo-seok pleads that he needs to call someone too, he says his lawyer. He’s offered a phone, but he says he needs his contacts to get the number. The officer calls Park and tells him his house was broken into. Park asks who did it and they tell him it was Woo-seok. When they ask if he knows him, he says no, they’ve never met. They then begin to tell him all about what Woo-seok has said about the games. In the background, Captain Park listens to Woo-seok begging for his phone. They finally agree. He tells them to hurry. The officer tells Captain Park his dog is dead.

Jun-ho comes out to speak to Captain Park, but he lies about who called him. The officer tries to control Woo-seok’s phone, but he grabs it off him and runs. Jun-ho’s phone rings. Captain Park calls into boat two and tells them they’ve been exposed and to kill everybody. Woo-seok shouts down the phone at Jun-ho, telling him that Captain Park works for the men on the island.

Meanwhile, Captain Park loads his gun. He shoots most of the team on the boat to death, but Jun-ho hides. Captain Park asks the last man still left alive where Jun-ho is. He tells him to turn around, to which Jun-ho fires a spear into his chest. Before Park dies, Jun-ho demands to know who he really is and why he saved him after he was shot. He says he was following orders and was told to do whatever it took to keep Jun-ho alive. Jun-ho says Captain Park knows where the island is, but he says he can’t do anything now anyway. He dies without telling him where it is.

Back at the main room, the remaining players are treated to a sit-down dinner in suits, like the previous games. They feast on their meals and one of the guards prepares a bottle for the baby. The VIPs are worried that the players will want to vote to leave. Front Man says they won’t do that because he’ll make them believe they’ll all survive the final game.

The guards give the players a hint about the final game. They tell the players that all of them will get to choose who gets eliminated. If they can agree on three players to kill, the rest will survive. They say a minimum of three, so they can kill off even more if they choose to. If they pick three to die, the remaining six will be allowed to leave the game. They start the vote, in reverse order. Gi-hun votes to leave. Player 222’s vote is forfeited because she’s unable to make it. The rest of the players vote to continue, apart from Player 125. The majority is reached and they will proceed to the final game.

The VIPs are happy that Front Man was right. He won’t tell them what the final game is, though. The only female VIP heads to bed. On the boat, Jun-ho tries to keep the last remaining member of his team alive. Jun-ho reveals to him that he needs to find his older brother on the island. His teammate says they’ll never find it in time. Jun-ho looks at the part of the map Captain Park crossed out.

On the island, guard 11 and 16 board the boat and drive away. Boat two calls into Front Man and tells him that his boat is cleared, but that Captain Park was killed. Meanwhile, the officer tries to talk to guard 11. She says she has nothing to say to him, but he tells her the boat won’t get them far. He tells her to hand over guard 16. Then, the officer threatens her by saying he knows that Player 246 will be heading to the hospital to see his child. With this threat, she turns the boat around.

In the main room, Player 100 says they should kill Gi-hun and the baby. For a third, Player 125, calling him a junkie. Then, the remaining six will get 7.6 billion each. One of the players argues that they don’t know what the game actually is and that more might go, but they all put their hands in to agree to the plan. Player 333 joins. Meanwhile, guard 11 jumps off the boat and tells guard 16 to head to land and call the police because his daughter’s in danger. When they split, the officer orders the pursuit team to shoot them both.

In the main room, while everyone else is sleeping, a guard tells Gi-hun that Front Man wants to see him. On the island, guard 11 looks at the vent coming out the side of the cliff. Gi-hun is taken to Front Man. He sits down across from him. Meanwhile, guard 11 scales the cliff to get to the vent. Front Man brings Gi-hun a proposition. He says the players have made a team to vote him and the baby out. He says he’s trying to help them, but Gi-hun doesn’t believe him.

To this, Front Man hands him a knife and tells him to kill anyone who wants to kill him or the baby. When Gi-hun asks why Front Man is saying this now, he removes his mask revealing his true identity as Player 001. He says he’s sorry for killing Jung-bae and Gi-hun grabs the knife. He tells him to kill him if he wants to, but it won’t change anything. Gi-hun holds the knife down and tells him that if he goes and kills the other players while they sleep, he and the baby will win and they won’t be able to play the final game with just two. The games will have to finish. Front Man gives him his word. As Gi-hun goes to leave, Front Man asks him if he still has faith in people. He continues to walk away.

Picking up where season 2 left off, Gi-hun, aka Player 456, and the remaining players must battle through the final deadly games to fight for their survival. With Gi-hun personally seeking his revenge against Front Man. Meanwhile, Jun-ho continues his search for the island, hoping to reunite with his brother and free any survivors before it's too late.

The episode opens on the dead players being retrieved from the arena after hide and seek and laid into coffins. A red player tries to overpower a guard and another female guard shoots him to death. More guards turn up and they’re excited to kill who is left alive. In the main room, Player 333 is waiting for Player 222 to come back. Player 124 asks him if he’s seen Thanos’s necklace. He’s panicking and tells the guards he wants to go back in to get it, but they refuse. Player 125 comes back and he has it hidden in his hand.

Players 149 and 222 finally return, holding the baby. She’s limping on her broken ankle. Elsewhere, the female guard has dressed Player 246 up as a guard. But, he’s struggling with his injury. She tells him to deal with it if he wants to live. Meanwhile, the baby is crying so Player 149 tells Player 222 to try feeding her. The guards come in and congratulate the players. 110 players have been killed. There’s only 25 players left, 43.1 billion won, leaving 1.724 billion won to each player if they stopped now. The guards call for another round of voting.

Front Man sits with the VIPs at a dining table. The VIPs are revealed to be the guards they brought in to murder the remaining red players who didn’t manage to kill anyone in hide and seek. The ones excited to kill. One of the VIPs didn’t make it in time to take part because his helicopter was late. The female VIP accuses him of being drunk, that’s why he was late. They congratulate Front Man on what he’s done. They raise a glass to Chairman Oh. The officer in the room is called out by an alert and replies to his walkie-talkie. He’s told they’ve lost contact with the operating room. He tells the guard to go down and check it out.

On the boat, the drone pilot flies the drone up into the sky. Woo-seok calls Jun-ho and tells him that he’s asked all the local fishermen and no-one knows anything about Captain Park or even who he is. He says it’s suspicious. He says it’s like Captain Park doesn’t even exist. He gives him another warning and Jun-ho says he has to go. On the island, the screens are brought down to the VIP table for them to watch the voting. Front Man tells them that players will want to see how much money they can get and won’t want to vote against the majority. 16 players currently hold O badges meaning they should want to continue.

The vote begins and Player 124 changes to wanting to leave. But, Player 125 swaps to stay. Player 149 tries to beg with the players to leave. She says they can have her share of the money and split it. She says they can’t let a young mother and her baby die. She begs on her knees, but players continue to vote to stay. Meanwhile, the guards arrive in the operating room and find all the dead bodies. On the stairwell, the female guard hands the man a key with 16 on it. She tells him to follow the soldiers and that to be careful of the surveillance camera in his room. He leaves and she jumps up towards a vent. The vote comes to Gi-hun and again, he refuses. The vote concludes and the majority decide to continue to the next game.

The VIPs are talking over Player 149’s plea to leave. They laugh about how she killed her own son to save someone she’s only just met. The officer checks in on the operating room. They blame the surgeon for the death of the guards, number 16. Meanwhile, the man hiding as guard 16 enters his room. The officer comes to check if guard 16 is in his room and he’s shown that he is.

On the boat, Captain Park suggests they head back as the tide is coming in. Jun-ho says they should bring the drone back, but then he spots something. He recognises the beach and tells Captain Park to take them to it. In the main room, Player 149 brings Player 222 food and tells her to eat. She agrees, but she goes to apologise for being the reason Player 149 killed her son. She tells her not to apologise and that she needs to just focus on her baby.

The officer wants number 16 brought to him and he also wants number 11, the female guard, tracked down. As he stands in his dark room, she tells him that number 11 is right here as she holds a gun up to him. She broke in via the vents. He asks her if she killed the men in the operating room and she nods. She wants guard 16 to patrol the outer perimeter with her and tells him that he’ll get her a boat. He still thinks guard 16 is the doctor and wonders how she knows him. She says that to make him look good in front of the VIPs, that he should just let them disappear.

Jun-ho arrives on the island. He hallucinates Front Man shooting on the beach and then climbs up to the cliff edge and remembers him shooting him there. He calls into the boat and tells them they’ve found the place where he was shot. He says the island must be nearby. Captain Park listens in.

In the main room, Player 149 goes to speak to Gi-hun, still chained to his bed. She tells him again that it’s not his fault. She sits by him and tells him life is unfair. Bad people ruin it all and good people always blame themselves. She explains her son always blamed himself. She says once she shouted at him for being so weak. She said after that, he tried to kill himself. She took him to the hospital and prayed for help, all for her to kill him in the end.

She tells Gi-hun that he can look after the players that are left. But, he tells her, he can’t. She says the baby needs him to help her, at least. Player 222 and her girl need Gi-hun to help them survive. She begs. Elsewhere, Woo-seok and his friend arrive at a house. He says he needs to prove Captain Park is a traitor. His friend warns him that he shouldn’t break in. Woo-seok loads a gun and tells his friend to keep a lookout.

He goes up to the house and the letterbox is stuffed full. He pulls out a letter addressed to Park Yeong-gil. He jumps over the wall to break in and a dog is tied up and starts to bark at him. He ducks round it and breaks into the house. The next morning, the guards are ordered to wake up ready for roll call. Hidden in guard 11’s breakfast is a key to the boat. The officer then tells another guard to go back down to the operating room because he feels like something is off.

In the main room, a coffin is brought in. Gi-hun looks across the room and sees that Player 149 has hanged herself overnight. Player 222 cradles her baby and cries. Elsewhere, the guard calls to the officer and tells him the doctor, guard 16, is actually dead. They realise Player 246 is now hidden in guard 16’s clothing. Inside Captain Park’s home, Woo-seok notices photos on the wall of fishing trips with friends. He recognises the man in one of the photos as the man in the suit, the recruiter, that shot his boss. He turns around to see the dog has gotten inside. It bites him and he shoots it to death.

In the main room, the players are told the fifth game is about to start. Player 124 is struggling without the pills from Thanos’s necklace. Player 222 can’t stand to leave her baby behind, so takes her with her. Injured, Woo-seok tries to escape but notices a covered hole under the dog house outside. It’s filled with money and a guard’s outfit. He’s disturbed by the police arriving.

Meanwhile, as the players head to the fifth game, Gi-hun offers to hold Player 222’s baby. She tries to refuse and he says she might accidentally hurt her, so he should take her. She agrees and then limps up the stairs behind him. The VIPs discuss how she’s at a disadvantage. One VIP says he’s bet on her for the next game, joking that he was drunk when he did it, but he thinks she might be able to survive.

Front Man offers to show them what the next game is. He lifts the screen and shows them their viewing window looking right at it. The red light, green light doll is there and a male doll is standing opposite her over a bridge. Player 222 begins to blame herself for the deaths of her friends, but Gi-hun tells her they all chose to take part in the games. It was everyone’s choice. He tells her he has a daughter and raising her makes up some of the greatest moments of his life. He says he’ll help her.

The VIP who voted for Player 222 is mad that he’s at a disadvantage. Another VIP suggests putting the baby in the game because a mother would do anything to save her child. The other VIPs like the idea and they all clap as the players arrive. The players enter and stand behind the red light, green light doll. There’s a rope across a bridge with a gap in the middle. On the other side, the male doll is holding the other end of the rope.

The fifth game is introduced as jump rope. Each player has to make their way across the bridge while jumping the rope as it swings round and round. They have 20 minutes. The order they cross is up to the players. Gi-hun tells Player 222 to sit and rest. Her ankle is even worse than before. The boy and girl doll start to swing the enormous rope. Gi-hun tells Player 222 they should go together. He tells her to leave the baby there to get afterwards. The guard tells him that all players have to make it across the bridge. Player 222 tries to argue that her baby is not a player, but the guard says she is now.

Player 100 tells them they’re wasting time, so someone needs to go first. Another player tells him to go. Player 222 tells Gi-hun to take her baby across. Player 125 asks Player 124 if he’s sick and he tries to push him away. So, Player 125 shows him he has Thanos’s necklace. Player 124 begs and apologises. Player 125 throws it onto the bridge and tells him to go and get it. So, he does. The VIPs get excited as they see a player has finally started to move. Player 124 retrieves his necklace and when he goes to open it, he sees there’s no pills left. He’s knocked off the bridge and killed by falling to his death. Player 125 holds the final pill in his hand.

Then, Gi-hun takes Player 222’s baby and says he’ll come back to get her once he’s across. She tells him he doesn’t have to, but he says she won’t be able to go alone with her bad leg. Gi-hun has tied a sling from his jacket across his chest and cradles the baby inside. The VIPs can’t understand Gi-hun’s motive. Not only does he have to jump the rope, he also has to jump the gap between the bridge. He makes it across the gap. And then, he makes it across the bridge with the baby. Player 333 watches on.

There’s only 12 minutes left, but when Gi-hun goes to head back, other players have started heading across the bridge. Player 096 makes it across the bridge, but as another player almost makes it too, he pushes them off.

The second episode begins with Player 246 waking up. The female guard holds the gun up to the doctor and he tells her they made a deal, but she shoots him dead anyway. She puts her guard uniform back on before Player 246 can see her and looks over to the doctor’s uniform and discarded mask. Meanwhile, the red team enters the arena for hide and seek. The 30-minute timer starts. Player 124 takes another pill from Thanos’s necklace. He offers one to Player 333, but he refuses.

Meanwhile, the red team head down different paths to find players. One of the blue team enters a door to hide. A red player follows them in. Another blue player leaves his door and runs to hide somewhere else. Gi-hun is looking for Player 388, but just misses him running past. Player 044 leads her four followers to try and find the exit. Player 100 unlocks a door and heads up the stairs to another door, but his square key won’t open the next one. He realises he needs another shape. Player 232 follows him in and they use his triangle key to open the next door.

Elsewhere, Players 120, 222 and 149 try to enter a door. Player 120 tries her circle key on a triangle lock. Player 222 has the triangle key, so they use that. Inside, there’s another door and Player 120 works out all three of them have the different keys they need; triangle, circle and square. They hand their keys over to Player 120. Gi-hun spots Player 388 running and chases him into a dead end, but he opens a door to a sheer drop surrounded by other doors. As Gi-hun lifts his knife up to him, he realises it’s Player 197, not 388. He looks across and sees Player 388 opposite hanging out of another door looking down at the drop.

There’s 25 minutes left. Player 007 is looking for someone to kill. Players 124 and 333 are chasing Player 235. Player 333 corners him in a room and Player 124 comes in. They overpower him and stab him. He begs on the floor that he has a kid and a wife and Player 333 stops Player 124 from killing him. He says they have to kill someone together by stabbing at the same time. Player 124 likes that idea and they do it.

Elsewhere, Player 226 runs into the team of three blue players using their keys together. Despite using their keys, they have ended up back in the main maze. He chases them down. Meanwhile, Player 333 takes the key from the player they’ve just killed. They say they need another kill to earn their place in the next game. When they’re gone, Player 125 steps out of the door next to where they were. He finds Thanos’s necklace on the ground. He opens it and takes a pill.

The team of three are running. Player 222 slips on the stairs and twists her ankle. Player 120 stands in front of her to protect her from Player 226. He tells her to move. Or, he says, she can hand over the older woman instead. Player 120 tucks her keys into her top and holds up her fists. They begin to fight. She overpowers him and gets the knife, stabbing him dead. Meanwhile, while Player 100 is working with another player to share keys, they enter a room at the same time as a red player. Player 100 pushes his teammate forward and closes the door behind him, leaving him to be stabbed to death. He waits until the red player has gone and steals his dead teammate’s key to keep using.

Player 124 and 333 find another blue player to kill and stab him together. They take his key. Player 222 hears that 333 has made it through. She says he’ll be coming to help her. Elsewhere, Player 333 tells Player 124 he needs to find Player 222. He says he’ll help him find her. But, he says they should kill any blue players they find so that less red players get through. Then, they’ll get even more prize money. Gi-hun continues to search for Player 388 and misses him again. Player 388 is being chased by someone else and he manages to fight them off on the stairs, which breaks the player's knife, but he was stabbed in the leg. He pockets the knife.

Meanwhile, the trio find a room to hide in and they look at Player 222’s ankle which is swollen and red. Player 120 thinks it’s broken. She suggests they stay put and see how it goes, but Player 222 says she’ll wait alone. The mother offers to wait with her and they send Player 120 off on her own with the keys. There’s 15 minutes left. And then, Player 222’s water breaks.

Player 007 walks past a door and notices a bloody handprint on it. He finds a blue player cowering behind the door. The player starts to plead with him. And while Player 007 hesitates, the blue player launches at him and starts fighting. Player 203 comes in and stabs him to death, just as he’s about to kill Player 007. He stands on his glasses as he leaves Player 007 in the room.

Meanwhile, Player 222 is delivering her baby and she bites on the jacket to stay quiet. Player 044 continues to lead her followers, saying she can hear voices calling her to find the exit. When she uses her key to enter a room telling them it’s the way out, she immediately backs up and runs off leaving them behind. Player 124 and 333 jump out and start stabbing the players to death. Player 044 and 388 run into each other. He’s got his broken knife. She continues to run and finds Gi-hun. She says she just saw Player 388 with an injured leg just down the hall, so he should kill him instead. Gi-hun leaves to find him.

He follows a trail of blood on the floor from Player 388's stabbed leg. The women continue to help Player 222 have her baby, but there’s only 11 minutes left. Player 125 finds Player 044 and he says he’s looking for his friend that died at the hands of Player 124 to save her. She runs off and hides in a room. As she turns round, she finds a door labelled ‘Way Out’, but to open it she needs all three keys. She only has one. Player 007 continues to look for someone to kill, but he’s crying. Player 044 leaves her room looking for keys and uses fallen blue players blood to mark the arrows to guide her back to the exit.

Elsewhere, Player 100 is almost cornered by Players 124 and 333, but before they turn the corner he uses a dead player’s blood to smear on his face and lays on the floor. Player 124 stabs the body next to Player 100 and just as he’s about to stab him, too, Player 333 leads him away. Player 044 turns up and tries to steal his necklace, but realising he's actually alive, they team up. He has two keys. While she pretends she uses voices, she looks at the arrows in blood she’s left to guide the way.

Meanwhile, Player 222’s baby is born. A girl. Player 149 uses the knife in her hair clasp to cut the umbilical cord and wraps the baby in a jacket. A red player comes in and Player 120 grabs her knife to fight him. She overpowers him and stabs him to death. Another red player approaches, sees what’s happened and leaves. Then, she realises she’s found her way to the room with the exit. She uses her three keys and opens the door. Before she steps through, she heads back for the other two women and the baby. She’s been stabbed, but she limps back to tell them. But, as she stands there in the doorway, Player 333 stabs her to death. He enters the room and finds Player 222 and her baby sitting there. Player 124 tries to come over and see who's inside, but Player 333 closes the door and leaves.

Gi-hun is still following the trail of blood that Player 388 has left behind. The blood suddenly stops halfway up the stairs and Gi-hun turns around and heads back to the door. Player 388 is cowering behind. Meanwhile, the mother takes all three keys from Player 120’s body. She says they need to find the exit and it must be nearby. Elsewhere, Player 044 and Player 100 reach the way out with their three keys. They open the door together, but Player 100 pushes Player 044 back inside the game, taking one of the keys and shutting the door behind him. When she turns round Player 125 is there. He’s asking for the woman again, his friend that was killed.

Player 388 begs for his life to Gi-hun. He says he wasn’t a soldier and lied because he just wanted to team up so he had a chance to survive. Gi-hun tells him it’s his fault. He begs that he was going to bring the ammo back, but he couldn’t. Gi-hun grabs him and tells him he killed them all. As he begs, he grabs the broken knife from his pocket and starts to stab at Gi-hun.

Back with Player 149, Player 222 and her baby, they search for the way out and find it. There’s three minutes left. Player 125 continues to beg to Player 044 for his friend. She starts to insult him and he hallucinates that it’s Player 124 instead. To this, he stabs her to death. Then, he imagines it’s his friend that he killed and cowers into the corner. As the mother is using the keys to open the door, Player 007, her son, finds them. Elsewhere, Player 388 accuses Gi-hun of doing everything he’s done so far just to win the game himself. They continue to fight.

Player 007, her son, enters the room and tells his mother he’ll die if he doesn’t kill someone and tries to go for Player 222 holding her baby. Player 149, his mother, says instead to stab her and then he’ll go through and Player 222 and her baby can escape. Meanwhile, Player 388 runs to a door and opens it to the sheer drop again. Gi-hun finds him and they carry on fighting. Gi-hun strangles Player 388 to death. Player 007 continues to struggle with his mother and breaks free, running towards Player 222 before he sees the baby. He tells Player 222 he's sorry and goes to stab her, but his mother stabs him with the knife from her hair clasp before he can do it. The game ends.

Gi-hun sits on the floor and tells himself it’s all his fault. He holds the knife to his own chin, but the guards shoot it away and knock him out. Player 149 holds her son, Player 007, as he dies and he tells her he’s sorry. The guards come in and shoot him to death.

The female guard instructs him to close his eyes and does exactly as she says if he wants to live. She holds a scanner to his neck and it’s announced that Player 246 has been eliminated.

Player 246’s body is loaded into a coffin and one of the male guards expresses how pleased he is that the female guard has decided to become one of them finally. She tells him she wants to see the operating room. When he asks why, she says there shouldn’t be any secrets between them now they're partners. Meanwhile, another coffin is taken into the middle of the main room where the remaining players wait. Player 120 lifts the lid off to reveal Gi-hun inside. She feels his pulse and tells the other players he’s still alive.

Elsewhere, on the boat, the guards are looking for the missing man, the drone pilot that Captain Park pushed overboard in secret. Captain Park tells the men he thinks the guard was drunk. Jun-ho’s partner, Woo-seok, says he heard talking followed by some noises at about 3AM. He checks with Captain Park because he says he saw him out on the deck. Jun-ho wants to look for the body, but Captain Park talks him out of it. Nearby, the drone pilot's body is seen washed up on the rocks of an island.

In his bed, Gi-hun recalls the final battle with Front Man in his sleep when he’s awoken by Players 149, 007, 222 and 120 by his side. He sits up and looks at the remaining players around the room all staring at him. He asks where everyone else is and Player 120 shakes her head. She asks after Gi-hun’s friend, Jung-bae, and he looks at her sadly. Again, he replays the words Front Man said before shooting his friend dead.

The guards enter the room. It’s revealed that another 35 players have now been eliminated. The prize fund grows to 36.9 billion won. The share would be 660 million won per player and they says it's time to vote again to see if they’ll continue to the next game. Gi-hun steps forward and pleads to the guards, asking why they kept him alive and no-one else. He holds one of the guard’s guns to his head and asks for them to kill him, but they won’t. From his room, Front Man watches. He receives a call from Captain Park who tells him they’ve docked to find another drone pilot. Front Man tells him they cannot find the island until the games are over. Captain Park wants to know what happens if things go wrong and Front Man tells him to kill them all, including Jun-ho.

Back at the main room, they’re casting their votes once again. Gi-hun refuses to vote and therefore forfeits. The players are still divided, but the ones on the circle side who want to stay have more people. They shout out as one of the players on the X side steps forward to vote and in fear, she votes to stay instead. Meanwhile, Front Man meets with a guard. He says that eight managers and 27 soldiers have been killed. He instructs him to replace the soldiers and repair damages to the building.

The coffins arrive at the incinerators, but instead of Player 246’s being burnt, it drops down to the operating room, marked with the sign for organ donation. The male guard is leading the female guard down to the basement and he wants to know where she learned to shoot and why she crossed the border. She says they can talk once it’s all over, but wants to see the operating room first.

Back at the voting, the majority have chosen to stay so they’ll proceed with the next game. Player 100 is heckling Player 456 asking him if his plan all along was to get rid of lots of players. They accuse him of acting when he asked the guards to kill him. But then, they start clapping for him to thank him for the larger prize pot.

Then, Player 044 approaches Gi-hun. She tells him he’ll hear all his friends screaming every day until he dies. Gi-hun looks up at her and grabs her by the throat. He’s handcuffed to the bed so he can’t grab her again as two other players pull her away. At the operating room, three men pull Player 246 onto the table just as the male and female guard arrive. He vouches for her and says they all trust each other, that’s why they don’t wear their masks in the room. She takes hers off. But, as they go to cut Player 246 open, she fights the male guard beside her and grabs her gun.

Although she tells them to drop any weapons, one of the guards grabs his gun from under the table. She shoots him before he can fire. They try to shoot her, but she beats them to it. As she goes towards the male guard who brought her down, she tells him the reason she crossed the border was because she shot her commander in the head and then, she shoots him dead, too. The only remaining guard is the one who operates on the bodies. She instructs him to save Player 246 and if he dies, she’ll kill him.

In the main room, Player 124 has five pills left from Thanos's necklace and takes one. Everyone else is getting food and Player 333 gives the pregnant Player 222 some of his. Gi-hun refuses to eat despite Player 149 offering hers. Player 120 then comes over to apologise for not bringing more ammo and Player 007, Player 149's son, says it’s Player 388's fault because he came back for ammo and then just sat on the floor. Gi-hun doesn’t look up or say a word until they’re gone. Then he looks back at Player 388 and continues to stare.

On the boat, Jun-ho is crossing off the islands they’ve searched already on a map. Woo-seok comes in with food and drinks. He wants to talk about Captain Park and asks Jun-ho about how Captain Park saved him after he was shot on the island. Then, Woo-seok tells Jun-ho he noticed that Captain Park had a screwdriver in his hand when he caught him on the deck after the drone pilot disappeared. Jun-ho makes excuses for him, but Woo-seok says it’s weird. He says he trusts his gut, but Jun-ho continues to defend him. Then, Jun-ho turns on Woo-seok saying he’d been drinking with the drone pilot that night and dismisses him.

Meanwhile, as everyone sleeps, Gi-hun continues to stare at Player 388. He wakes up and finally sees Gi-hun staring at him. The guards enter and instruct the players to get ready for the next game. Front Man is told that the VIPs have arrived. As the players ascend the stairwell, there’s bullet holes everywhere and a collection of players hanging dead by their wrists in the middle.

Inside the fourth game, they’re instructed that they’ll be divided into two teams. They will each draw a blue or red ball from the dispensing machine by turning the mechanism. Elsewhere, the doctor has stitched up Player 246. He says he needs to give him a transfusion, but they don’t have any blood. The female guard tells him to use hers. Meanwhile, the players draw their teams at random. The mother and son players get split. Gi-hun joins the red team. The game is announced as hide and seek.

The blue team are told that they have 30 minutes to find the exit and escape or stay hidden so they’re not caught. The red team are told they have to find the blue team and kill them. If a red player doesn't kill at least one blue player, they’re eliminated. Each member of the blue team is handed a box with a necklace inside and a key. They’re told that the key works for doors in the arena to access new areas.

Once a door is opened, it cannot be locked. The red team are handed a box each, too. Inside, a knife each to kill the other players. The blue team are angry they haven’t been given anything to defend themselves, but the red team argue they can use the keys to escape. The guard offers them a chance to swap teams with someone on the opposing side.

At the boat, they have a new drone pilot. Woo-seok calls Jun-ho and says he’s not coming on the boat that day because he needs to look into something. He tells Jun-ho he’ll be in touch if he finds anything. Woo-seok gets into a car with a man and tells him that their old boss is dead. He tells him how they had to play rock, paper, scissors, but says it's a long story.

Player 044 steps forward for the blue team and says she’ll lead them to freedom. Only four players are listening to her speech. Player 124 approaches Player 125 and tries to convince him to switch teams to hiding. He starts to talk about the woman he killed from their team and realises that Player 125 was watching and didn’t save her. He pulls out Thanos’s necklace and says their whole team is dead now and they need to work together. Player 333 tries to switch with Player 222, saying it’s her only way out. He says she won’t kill anyone, so they should swap. He says he’ll kill someone and then find her. Since she won’t swap, he tells her to kill him instead and then escape. Then, both her and the baby can live.

The mother and son talk about swapping. He tells her to give him the knife. She says she’ll swap with someone else, but he says they can’t stick together or they’ll get hunted. She says he won’t kill anyone if he has the knife. He says she couldn’t either. Player 100 tries to switch with Gi-hun, but he stares him down coldly. Player 388 is desperately trying to switch with a woman, but she refuses him.

He notices again Gi-hun staring at him and approaches him, asking him why he’s staring. He tells Gi-hun it wasn’t his fault and they wouldn’t have won anyway. He instead tries to blame Gi-hun, grabbing hold of him and shouting in his face. The guards back him down. The game announcer tells the players the game is about to begin.

On the boat, Captain Park asks Jun-ho where Woo-seok is. Jun-ho tells him he had a family emergency. Captain Park says he thinks he got scared and left. Meanwhile, the blue players leave the main room to start the game. The mother and son have switched roles. He tells her he’ll get it over with and come find her. She says she can hide, even after his dad beat her so many times, she didn’t die. He tells her she has her secret weapon, the knife hidden in her hair clasp, if she needs it. She says they’ll leave together. Player 222 approaches Player 333 and tells him to swear on his life and accepts switching with him. He tells her he swears he’ll find her.

The blue players enter the game room, a series of paths like a maze, the ceilings covered in painted stars. They are given two minutes to hide before, they're told, the red team will come. Player 100 says they need to spread out and look for the exit. If it’s found, the player must shout and they can all follow. Meanwhile, Player 124 approaches Player 333 and asks if he wants to work together and he agrees. Player 222 is struggling and Player 120 offers to go with her. The mother, Player 149, follows. Finally, red team enters the arena. Gi-hun stands to enter and says the words: “It’s all your fault” as he goes to hunt down Player 388.

The brainchild of writer and director Hwang Dong-hyuk, the vivid hellscape where debt-ridden contestants play life-or-death children’s games in the hope of winning an enormous cash prize became a global sensation when it debuted on the streaming service on 17 September 2021.

Now, Hwang Dong-hyuk hopes fans will embrace the concluding chapter in his gripping survival saga about man’s inhumanity to man with the same enthusiasm as they have in the past.

“I poured over six years of my life into Squid Game, not counting when I first wrote the original script more than a decade ago,” shares showrunner Hwang, 54. “I hope this third season will satisfy fans. All around the world, they’ve shown incredible love and support and I’m truly excited by their reactions.”

Here, the cast reveals how the stage is set for a thrilling finale…

Squid Game season 3 cast — who is still in the game?

Player 456 - Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae)

In Season 1 protagonist, Seong Gi-hun, clad in his iconic green Player 456 tracksuit, beat fellow contestants, including some dearly acquired friends, in the Squid Game arena. Season 2 saw him embark on a mission to unmask the event’s shadowy masterminds by re-entering the competition. Yet, unknown to him, game-runner Front Man had anonymously joined proceedings as Player 001 and sabotaged his plans to stop the cruel sport.

Season 3 picks up in the wake of Season 2’s violent cliffhanger where Gi-hun launched a futile rebellion and Front Man, whose real name is Hwang In-ho, faked his death…

“The attachment I feel toward Gi-hun is quite different from my other roles. While shooting Squid Game I had a chance to look at all the joys and sorrows of the various characters through his eyes and I hope that experience is also shared with the audience,” says original cast member Lee Jung-jae, 52.

“For Season 3 I thought about the guilt Gi-hun feels with so many people dying and I knew he couldn’t be of sound mind. He wants to give up everything. Whatever happens in the game, to the other people, or even himself, he is in a state in which he doesn’t have the ability to think clearly… Until an important and touching scene, when another player brings him to his senses by telling him that they need his help and he also needs their help in return!”

“After the failure of Gi-hun’s riot he’s overwhelmed with a profound sense of defeat and he reaches his lowest and darkest point. He feels completely powerless, as if he wants to give up everything,” adds director Hwang of his central hero. “We’ll see how he returns to the game arena and faces the challenges ahead. The story then takes an interesting turn and becomes about his transformation and how Gi-hun overcomes what stands in his way.”

Front Man - Hwang In-ho (Lee Byung-hun)

With Front Man back in total control, in Season 3 he welcomes the game’s wealthy VIP financiers to watch the final rounds, while Gi-hun despairs following the slaughter of his comrades…

Grave new threats facing the surviving participants include a skipping game where a foot wrong could prove fatal, and the introduction of a creepy companion for motion-sensing doll Young-hee called Chul-su.

But fatal games aside, the main narrative centres on Front Man, who’s focused on breaking Gi-hun’s spirit, while he in turn must dig deep to protect his sense of self.

“Season 3 is the phase in which Gi-hun finally puts into action his long-harboured determination to upend this entire system and In-ho resumes his original role as Front Man and tries to stop him,” shares Lee Byung-hun, 54.

“In-ho’s desperation in the past, when he had no other choice but to participate in the game as a player, has turned him into an emotionless man deprived of any hope for humanity, so he became Front Man. I think his ultimate goal is to break down Gi-hun's conviction through a psychological battle of beliefs, creating another game entirely.

“Season 2 set the stage for Season 3, where these stories reach their climax and culminate in an explosion of dramatic intensity. The duel between Front Man and Gi-hun begins in earnest - and you won’t be disappointed!”

“Front Man is relentless in pushing Gi-hun to his breaking point and wants to tear down all his beliefs,” adds director Hwang. “To him, the history of mankind has always been a cycle of those who rule and those who obey. But Gi-hun still has some surprises to throw Front Man’s way…”

Player 120 - Cho Hyun-ju (Park Sung-hoon)

Having survived the deadly riots, the transsexual ex-marine has nerves of steel and a heart of gold… Will she survive to start a new life?

“I have been playing a lot of villains lately, so it was nice to play a lovely and virtuous character like Hyun-ju,” says Park Sung-hoon. “She is someone multi-faceted and strong, who cannot be solely defined by her gender. I want her to be remembered as a genuine person who cares for others in the midst of all these selfish characters.

“There is a scene in Season 3 in which I have to fight two characters on a complicated set. In order to film that scene, we had to attend stunt training, rehearse multiple times beforehand, and finalise the scene on set!”

“Hyun-ju is the complete opposite of Dae-ho [see below] in terms of heroism. Despite being part of one of the most marginalised communities in society, she embodies profound conscience, courage, and a compassionate heart, and in Season 3 viewers will get to see even more of her story,” promises director Hwang.

Player 388 - Dae-ho (Kang Ha-neul)

Following his breakdown during the riots, there is a question mark over the self-proclaimed former-marine’s true identity on the outside…

“Honestly, I think Dae-ho is probably the most realistic person. Yes he’s sly in certain situations, but if it happened in real life, I think most people would be like him. As human beings, we all have parts of ourselves that are like that, and I had that in mind when depicting him,” says Kang Ha-neul.

“I have no regrets [living as Dae-ho during 10 months filming]. How else could I have breathed the same air and chit-chatted with Lee Jung-jae or Lee Byung-hun? Squid Game brought together so many amazing actors. Everyone I worked with had so much to offer and I learned so much from them. I simply have no regrets and I can move on now having been part of something great.”

Player 222 - Kim Jun-hee (Jo Yu-ri)

The vulnerable, heavily pregnant young woman is fighting for two…

“There were so many memorable scenes from Seasons 2 and 3 - Jun-hee was a woman who lived a very dynamic life! My favorite scene is when she has an emotional conversation with Myung-gi [see below] and I’m looking forward to seeing how it came out on screen,” says Jo Yu-ri.

“Jun-hee faces a lot of difficult choices, and I’m sure some will consider her to have a one-track mind, and others may see her only as a pregnant woman or a mother, but I hope she’s a multifaceted, heartfelt character who is remembered for a long time.”

Player 007 - Park Yong-sik (Yang Dong-geun)

Will the chronic gambler sacrifice his elderly mother Jang Geum-ja AKA Player 149, who is in the game to clear his debts?

“This is hearsay so don’t take my word for it, but I’ve heard the ending is going to be wild!" says Yang Dong-geun.

“I’m overwhelmed and speechless to be an integral part of this global sensation. It’s an honour to partake in the worldwide anticipation for Season 3. As of now, every day is about waiting for the release date.”

Player 149 - Jang Geum-ja (Kang Ae-sim)

One of the eldest contestants in the game, she's a mother figure to her allies and desperate for the game to stop.

“She has become close friends with Hyun-ju,” says Kang Ae-sim. “I’m so thankful, as someone who’s living the second half of her life Squid Game could open new doors for me in many ways and I feel the weight of its significance.”

Player 124 - Nam-gyu (Roh Jae-won)

The savage, drug-fuelled nightclub promoter has a target on his back after killing former ally Se-mi (Player 380).

“Season 3 is fresher, sadder, and more shocking than Season 2 and, excitingly, there’s a big change in Nam-gyu,” reveals Roh Jae-won.

“I think he was often bullied and in the game the only people Nam-gyu could belittle were Min-su and Se-mi, but even Se-mi looked down on him. In Season 3, after Thanos dies, Nam-gyu feels like he’s the main character now. He’s not very likable and he does things that he really shouldn’t...”

Player 333 - Lee Myung-gi (Yim Si-wan)

The in-debt cryptocurrency influencer is determined to get out alive alongside his pregnant ex-girlfriend Jun-hee - but he has several enemies in the game who blame him for their financial difficulties…

“He’s a prime and extreme example of how a series of bad choices, and one bad, impulsive choice in particular, can ruin one’s life. If I may defend him a little, Myung-gi doesn’t strike me as inherently evil. But as you can see, chasing money led to many irrevocable consequences,” explains Yim Si-wan.

“I have a feeling that Myung-gi will be regarded as pure garbage by the viewers watching Squid Game. But as someone who slipped into his role, I’d like the viewers to consider the emotional factors that drove him to this place.”

Player 125 - Park Min-su (Lee David)

After going through hell in Season 2, this previously timid character has undergone a transformation and now has his sights set on Nam-gyu…

“Min-su enters the game due to fraud, but he persists throughout for another reason. As the show progresses, there are moments where Min-su’s reason for playing is fuelled by not money but revenge. That in turn brings out guilt,” explains Lee David.

“In Season 3, Min-su and Nam-gyu have one particularly important scene. Director Hwang told us there is one game where ‘everyone crosses a line of no return.’ This applies to Min-su…”

Player 044 - Seon-nyeo (Chae Kuk-hee)

Dangerous and obnoxious, the shaman uses her influence to unbalance the competition and is one to watch out for!

Hwang Jun-ho (Wi Ha-jun)

The former detective and Front Man’s brother desperately seeks the secret island, unaware there’s a traitor amongst his crew…

“His journey in Season 3 is fraught with challenges and shaky situations. In portraying him I wanted to strike a balance between his personal emotional turmoil and professional resolve, highlighting his dedication to justice. It’s Jun-ho’s personal conviction that fuels his determination, which, for me, made his tenacity especially compelling,” says Wi Ha-jun.

“This series delves into and expresses themes of social inequality, generalised social systems, economic hardship and human nature at its most exposed state. I think that’s why so many people around the world can relate and appreciate it.”

Pink Guard 011 - Kang No-eul (Park Gyu-young)

How far will the North Korean defector-turned-Squid Game soldier go to find the daughter she was forced to leave behind?

“No-eul is someone whose life isn’t easy, but she resolves to go on with renewed determination, so in that aspect, she represents a basic level of respect and integrity, and I portrayed her with that in mind,” says Park Gyu-young.

“I think Squid Game shows the cruelty of taking human life for a certain purpose, using it as the means for someone else’s gain.”

Squid Game Season 3 is available on Netflix from Friday 27 June 2025 when the impactful dystopian drama returns with central protagonist Gi-hun, AKA Player 456, teetering on the brink of insanity as he is thrown into even deadlier games. Creator Hwang Dong-hyuk’s vivid survival thriller packs a lot of punch (and every other imaginable form of violence) as Gi-hun makes his last stand against nemesis Front Man. Is Mali Hudson (Kyle Shilling) in the bad books with his girlfriend, Abigail Fowler (Hailey Pinto)?

Abigail wasn't happy when Mali's slip-up led to her mum Deb finding out about her drug addiction problems.

Mali attempts to apologise again when Abigail returns home.

However, he's in for a surprise when he discovers Abigail's bags are packed and a taxi is waiting for her!

ELSEWHERE, Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo) discovers WHO told her estranged dad Jimmy about her engagement to Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright).

And it's someone who she never would have expected!

Theo Poulos (played by Matt Evans) and Sonny Baldwin (Ryan Bown) are in DANGER from the River Boys on Home and Away (1:45pm - see our TV Guide for listings).

The violent gang are determined to make sure Theo and Sonny don't make it to court, to testify against gang member, Gage Reynolds.

It's not looking good for Theo, who is now bleeding from the wounds he was left with after nasty Gage's previous attack, when he tried to crush Theo with his own car!

With both Theo and Sonny stranded out in the middle of nowhere, the River Boys intend to make sure the guys don't live to tell the tale...

Meanwhile, Leah Patterson (Ada Nicodemou) and her husband, Justin Morgan (James Stewart), head for Yabbie Creek Police Station to get an update about her missing nephew, Theo.

However, when Leah comes face-to-face with Lacey Miller (Sophea Pennington), who has been working with cop Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) to help put Gage behind bars, it all kicks off!

Leah makes it very clear that she blames Lacey for Theo's latest ordeal at the hands of the River Boys...

Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo) is thrown when she receives a congratulations text message from her estranged dad, Jimmy.

Eden still wants nothing to do with the man who cheated on her mum Deb years earlier.

So how did Jimmy find out about Eden and Cash's engagement?

Eden immediately jumps to the conclusion that it may have been one of her siblings, Levi (Tristan Gorey) and Abigail (Hailey Pinto), who shared the news.

Or was it someone unexpected who shared details of Eden's personal life with the man she hates?

On today's episode of the Aussie soap, Theo and Sonny are travelling to court with their girlfriends, Lacey Miller (Sophea Pennington) and Dana Matheson (Ally Harris).

Suddenly, their security van is hijacked by the River Boys gang, when a fallen tree blocks the road...

After attacking the bodyguards, the violent surf gang turn their attention to would-be witnesses, Theo and Sonny...

While Dana and Lacey are left stranded on the road, word soon gets back to the Bay that Theo and Sonny have not arrived at court, with Gage's trial about to begin...

Cash Newman (Nicholas Cartwright) and Eden Fowler (Stephanie Panozzo) are all loved-up as they arrive home.

The couple got engaged (again!) during a trip out into the countryside to visit Cash's foster dad, Gary.

It doesn't take neighbour John Palmer (Shane Withington) long to come around and pitch himself as their wedding celebrant!
