MLB Tuesday is back for another thrilling season. In 2025, the name shifts from MLB on TBS Tuesday to simply MLB Tuesday, as fans will be able to tune in on both TBS and Max. This is the 52nd year that Major League Baseball is available on TBS, continuing a longstanding tradition and expanding it into the streaming sphere.

It might be the start of baseball season, but Apple TV plus is bringing the thrill of the Fall Classic to life anew in the new three-part docuseries Fight for Glory: 2024 World Series. What to Watch talked with Emmy-winning director RJ Cutler (Martha, Elton John: Never Too Late) about bringing the epic story between the Los Angeles Dodgers and New York Yankees to life [check out our Fight for Glory: 2024 World Series review].

Bringing the World Series to life as a film isn't a new concept. "The World Series film goes back to World War Two," Cutler explained. "The US government asked Major League Baseball to do a World Series film for the overseas soldiers so they could experience the World Series. And that's what the World Series film was." Eventually, films gave way to VHS and DVD copies that would be available in time for Christmas.

"Major League Baseball realized that there's an opportunity for there to be a real film here, a three-part film," he continued.

MLB reached out to Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, who in turn reached out to Cutler's production company, Filmworks, to see if he was interested in directing. It was a very easy ask of the lifelong Mets fan. "There was no arm twisting necessary," he laughed.

MLB's vision was clear: "To make it as cinematic as possible. Character driven, emotional, dramatic and beautiful, to really highlight the beauty of the sport."

The monumental challenge in the film crew's mission came with figuring out how to establish relationships with players when there's no way of knowing which teams will end up playing in the Fall Classic.

"We knew from moment one that it was going to be about the World Series," Cutler explained. That was the only constant throughout the process, because as he notes, "you don't know until a day or two before the World Series who's going to be in the series."

That meant Cutler and his crew had to build rapport with every team in the league. "We started shooting during the NLCS and ALCS, but we did that to develop the relationships." Cutler understood that there was no way to show up and expect players to open up to them, so that meant hitting the road early on in the season.

"All season long, we were developing the relationships," he said. "We were visiting teams. We went down to San Diego. Our office is 20 minutes from Dodger Stadium. I went to New York a bunch of times and had lots of Zoom meetings with all the front offices. People knew what we were up to and what we were trying to do: redefine the what the World Series film could be."

Once the Dodgers and the Yankees claimed their respective pennants, it was off to the races for the documentary team. "It required us to be incredibly deft and on our toes and ready to imagine the hotel reservations and the plane tickets, because you're not going to be able to get a hotel room the day before the World Series. And it's not a hotel room, it's 60 hotel rooms," he said, highlighting the size of his large crew.

Not only that, Cutler added that his crew only had about 12 weeks to turn the project around after the conclusion of the World Series. "So there were a lot of edit rooms going on, but it was incredibly fun. It was a blast for baseball lovers."

When it came to filming the World Series itself, Cutler noted that "there were so many twists and turns and complexities to the series that in many ways it was the gift that kept on giving."

The Dodgers ended up winning the World Series 4-1, with the Yankees pulling off a must-win victory in Game 4 to force Game 5. "4-1 in terms of the outcome is incredibly misleading," Cutler noted. "This series, the only blowout was the Yankees win. The rest of the games, three out of the other four games, the Yankees easily could have won with one swing of the bat and then the series would've gone the other way."

As a documentarian, it made for an incredible filming experience. "It was incredibly close, and that's the heartbreak of it. And so much of that hinged on Aaron Judge's slump and Freddie [Freeman] coming out of [his injury] and [Shohei] Ohtani's injury."

At the end of the night, Cutler and the production crew would gather in the bar at the end of the night to share what everyone saw and learned. "It would be midnight or so by the time we wrapped and we'd all get together and talk about it. There were 30 or 40 people and we would talk about what did we see? What did we learn from the players? What did we learn from the fans? What do we think's going to happen tomorrow? Who's pitching? What's happening with Ohtani? All of it."

Cutler's crew was preparing for Game 6 just in case. "We were making plans to go back to Los Angeles in the fifth inning of Game 5, like everybody else at Yankee Stadium." Cutler laughed and said that's why the World Series is so different from other championships. "Truly anything is possible until the 27th out."

Where to watch 2024 MLB Spring Training games 

If you can't make it out to Florida or Arizona, you might be wondering how to watch your team at Spring Training. Thankfully, you have some options. 

Fans who subscribe to MLB.TV can watch several out-of-market games live, either online or on a supported device. This year, MLB.TV will feature over 50 live spring training games over the six-week period, including their 30 Clubs in 15 Days promotion starting Wednesday, Feb. 28 with the Los Angeles Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates.

Not all games will be broadcast on MLB.TV because they have to be televised to begin with; if a team isn't televising the game, it won't be available to watch on MLB.TV. It's also possible that if one team's game isn't being televised, the opposing team will be. In that case, you might be able to watch on the opposing team's feed, which also means you'll be listening to their commentators. 

Every team will broadcast at least some of their games in their home markets, and we've compiled the broadcast schedules for each team below. While you're there you can also see which games are available on the radio or streaming on a team's website if it's not being televised.

There will also be several nationally televised games on ESPN.

How to watch 2024 MLB Spring Training games on ESPN

ESPN and ESPN Plus will feature ten spring training games beginning February 22.

How to watch 2024 MLB Spring Training games by team 

Each MLB team has its own TV licenses within its broadcast area, and that means that there are a certain number of games that will be televised. To watch your local market team, find the regional sports network that they air games on and see if that is available on either your traditional pay-TV service or if a live TV streaming service carries the channel. 

If a game you want to watch is outside your TV market, you might be able to watch the game on MLB.TV, so be sure to check the schedule. 

Also note that while only certain games are televised in your local market, there are other ways to watch (or listen), including webcasts on the team's website or on the local radio.

How to watch MLB on Fox on TV

The MLB on Fox will have games throughout the regular season on Fox, FS1 and Fox Deportes, with many of its signature games, including the 2023 All-Star Game, airing on its main Fox channel.

As far as being able to watch the games, those airing on that Fox flagship station are easy enough to watch, as Fox is a available through all traditional pay-TV cable providers and even if you still use a TV antenna, as well as being carried by the major live TV streaming services, including FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV.

FS1 is a little trickier, as it is a specialty cable channel, but one carried by most providers, as well as FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV (Blue) and YouTube TV. Spanish-speaking viewers can also get Fox Deportes through traditional cable options or FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV. 

How to watch MLB on Fox online

Fox does not have its own streaming service, but it does still allow for online and mobile viewing. The key is that you do have to be a subscriber to a traditional cable or live TV streaming service that carries the Fox channels.

When is MLB Opening Day 2023?

MLB Opening Day 2023 is Thursday, March 30. 

For the first time since 1968, all MLB teams are going to play their first game of the season on the same day, meaning that there are going to be 15 games throughout the day.

Major League Baseball has TV deals with several networks, so it can take some searching to find the game you're looking for. Generally speaking, if you're looking to watch the team in your home city then you'll need to consult local listings to see where it's on. 

If you're looking for nationally broadcast games, or out-of-market games, you might find them on Fox, TBS, ESPN or MLB Network. Fox is available without a cable TV subscription, but you'll need a cable package to watch TBS, ESPN and MLB Network. 

If you've cut the cord, Fox and ESPN are included in the channel lineups of FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV. TBS is available on Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV, while MLB Network is available (included or as an add-on channel) with FuboTV and Sling TV.

Things to know about MLB 2023

Friday Night Baseball is returning to Apple TV Plus for the 2023 Major League Baseball season. The streaming services weekly doubleheaders will feature some of the biggest matchups in baseball, but this year watching the games will come at a price, as they'll only be available to Apple TV Plus subscribers. 

Apple TV Plus' weekly doubleheader coverage begins Friday, April 7, with two must-watch matchups. The Texas Rangers face off against the Chicago Cubs in the inaugural daytime edition of Friday Night Baseball, to be followed by a night game featuring the San Diego Padres at the Atlanta Braves. 

"We can't wait for Friday Night Baseball to start up again, and we're excited for fans to experience everything new we're bringing this season," Apple's senior vice president of Services, Eddy Cue, said in a press release. "Apple TV Plus truly has something for everyone, from two live baseball games every Friday night, to an incredible slate of award-winning original films and series — there's never been a better time to sign up."

And that's the key. Unlike last year, where MLB games on Apple TV Plus were available for free, this year they're only available to subscribers. 

Apple TV Plus is going all-out with their Friday Night Baseball coverage, with an all-star roster of on-air talent including former MLB players Xavier Scruggs and Matt Joyce and noted baseball writer Russell Dorsey. Lauren Gardner and Siera Santos will return to provide pre- and postgame coverage, with two former MLB umpires, Brian Gorman and Dale Scott, on hand to talk about all of the MLB rule changes that will impact the new season. 

Fans will also be able to enjoy a new whip-around show, MLB Big Inning, starting March 30. The new show will feature live coverage and game highlights every weeknight. Then, beginning in April, there will be even more MLB coverage with Countdown to First Pitch, MLB Daily Recap and MLB This Week. 

All of the Friday Night Baseball games will feature the same crystal-clear picture that had fans raving last year thanks to Apple's state-of-the-art cameras and immersive 5.1 sound with Spatial Audio. There will also be more players wearing microphones and exclusive aerial drone footage, and viewers in the US and Canada will be able to listen to audio from the home and away teams' local radio broadcasts as well.

The World Baseball Classic returns this spring with teams from 20 countries vying for the title. While Major League Baseball gears up for the season, many players will be leaving spring training to join international teams in hopes of bringing home a big win. 

While Team USA expects to make an impact at the WBC, it's anyone's guess as to which country will come out on top. Shohei Ohtani and Yu Darvish will represent Team Japan while the Dominican Republic team is stacked with players like Juan Soto, Manny Machado and Wander Franco lining up behind their designated hitter and team general manager, Nelson Cruz. 

It's also a huge occasion for Team Great Britain as they make their first-ever WBC appearance. And there are already lots of fans cheering for the underdog Czech Republic team that's made up of baseball enthusiasts who are not professional athletes. In fact, their team is made up of financial analysts, teachers and firemen and they're a lot of fun to watch.

How to watch the World Baseball Classic 2023 in the US

Fans in the US can tune into the World Baseball Classic on the Fox Sports and Fox Deportes family of channels, including FS1 and FS2. A small number of games will also be available to stream on Tubi. 

Fox is carried by all cable TV providers, so you can watch your local Fox station. Another option is a TV antenna, which can receive all local station signals, including Fox. FS1 and FS2 aren't always included through cable TV subscriptions, so check with your provider to make sure you have them.

Thanks to a rain delay for game 2 of the National League Division Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves, the Andrew Lloyd Webber episode of The Masked Singer season 8 ended up being pushed from Wednesday’s schedule to the fury of American fans who were prevented from seeing the episode though it aired as scheduled on Canadian stations.

Let’s just say it was a mess all around. The NLDS game was scheduled for 4:35 pm ET on Fox, and even if the game lasted three hours there would be plenty of time for The Masked Singer to air at its regularly scheduled time of 8 pm ET. A rain delay caused a delay, so The Masked Singer social media team told fans that the game would be on as soon as the game ended. There was no indication at that point that the show wouldn’t air.  

However, as the rain delay persisted and turned into an almost three-hour delay in itself, it eventually became too late for The Masked Singer to air on the East Coast, forcing Fox to postpone the episode until next week. 

Fans, having waited up until after 10:30 pm ET to watch the show, were furious at what appeared to be a last minute decision to postpone the show. And they had good reason to be upset: the show had already aired in Canada earlier in the evening as scheduled, so spoilers for the episode were already racing across the internet. 

It’s an even bigger deal for The Masked Singer fans because the Andrew Lloyd Webber episode was to be the first to feature three new singers — Robo Girl, Mermaid and Maize — since the season premiere. (Harp won again last week and moves ahead to the semifinals)

The Masked Singer was quick to apologize to fans, though the decision was out of their control. 

It’s worth mentioning that next Wednesday, October 19, is game 2 of the National League Championship Series. The game will either air on Fox or FS1, but we won’t know until the field is set on Sunday.

As of this writing, per local Fox news affiliates who have been tasked with addressing fan concerns, it looks like the plan is for the episode to air next week.  It's possible that this means  the season has just been extended by a week, unless a decision is made to air two episodes in the same week to get back on track. 

The Masked Singer [usually!] airs Wednesdays at 8 pm ET/PT on Fox.

For the first month of the seasons, ESPN Plus is going to be providing a live stream of almost a game a day, with 30 games set to be available on the platform through April 30.

ESPN Plus is a subscription streaming service that is available just to US consumers. As a standalone service, ESPN Plus costs $10.99 per month or $109.99 if you sign up for a full year. Consumers can also sign up for ESPN Plus via the Disney Bundle, which combines ESPN Plus, Disney Plus and Hulu for a single monthly fee. The sports-centric streaming service has also become a standard feature for all subscribers of Hulu with Live TV.

ESPN Plus does not currently offer a free trial.

After signing up for ESPN Plus, consumers will have access to available MLB games (local market blackout restrictions do apply to out-of-market games), as well as the MLB archives featuring classic games and historic baseball moments. ESPN Plus also offers coverage of the Little League World Series when that gets underway.

How to watch MLB on Peacock

While Peacock does offer a free version of its streaming service, if you want to watch its MLB Sunday Leadoff games, or any sports it provides for that matter, you have to be a subscriber to Peacock Premium. The good news is that consumers have options when it comes to a subscription, as Peacock Premium has both an ad-supported and an ad-free version. The bad news, Peacock no longer offers its free trial.

Once you are a Peacock subscriber, you can watch it on a smart TV, including Roku, Android TV and Apple TV, either a PlayStation or Xbox gaming console, mobile and tablet devices or your computer.

Baseball fans are set to get access to Friday Night Baseball for free over the coming weeks, thanks to a partnership between Apple TV Plus and MLB.

The deal, which has been struck for the 2022 season, begins on April 8 and viewers will not need an Apple TV Plus subscription — or a free trial — in order to watch the games.

The first half of the season falls under this offer, with games available to watch through June 24. There is not yet an update on whether the second half of the season will also be free to watch.

Streaming is available for viewers in territories across the globe — the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Brazil, South Korea, Japan, Puerto Rico and Mexico.

What’s more, those who are watching from the US will be able to watch a new live show called MLB Big Inning, which features highlights, look-ins and more.

In the US and Canada, there will also be a livestream shown around the clock which provides MLB games and replays, news, highlights, analysis and classic games as well as on-demand programs.

An added bonus of this partnership is that the games and shows will not be subject to local broadcast restrictions.

Apple has also revealed that the MLB plans to mark Jackie Robinson Day on April 15, as the date will be the 75th anniversary of Robinson’s debut in the Major League.

The first games on the schedule will be the New York Mets vs the Washington Nationals, and this will be broadcast live from Nationals Park in Washington, DC, from 7 pm ET. After that, the Houston Astros will face off against the Los Angeles Angels live from Angel Stadium at 9:30 pm ET. The full schedule can be found here.

The partnership was originally announced at Apple’s Peek Performance event in March, where it also unveiled Mac Studio and the iPhone SE. At the time, Apple’s vice president of services Peter Stern said in a statement: “Baseball has a special place in the heart of so many Apple customers — not just in the United States, but in many countries around the world. We’re proud to make Apple TV Plus the home for great baseball moments throughout the season.”

This partnership marks Apple’s first major foray into the live sports coverage industry — an area it has been circling for a while. Indeed, this is not Apple and MLB’s first deal, as one of the first apps which went live on the App store back in 2008 was MLB at Bat.

Apple is also reportedly looking into covering other leagues, such as NFL games once the Sunday Ticket expires, after the next season.

The Los Angeles Dodgers (43-17) now hold a 1-0 series lead over the Rays, and that Game 1 win was a complete team effort. They had a mix of slugging and small ball to run up the score, putting up eight runs in bunches. Both Cody Bellinger and Mookie Betts hit home runs, while the bottom half of the batting order strung together key singles to produce a four run fifth inning. Pitcher Clayton Kershaw got the win with six innings of pitching with only one earned run.

In Game 2, the Dodgers will give the ball to pitcher Tony Gonsolin (2-2). He’s a second year player who has an outstanding career 2.60 earned run average, but this is his first ever postseason and he lost his only start to Braves in the Championship series. The Tampa Bay Rays (40-20) put up a fight in Game 1 of the World Series even if it didn’t go their way. Centerfielder Kevin Kiermaier hit a home run and drove in two runs on two hits, but he was the only Ray to have more than one hit. Additionally, the Rays batters only managed to draw one walk the entire game. The Braves managed to frustrate the Dodgers in the last round by working the count for long at bats, and that can lead to more walks. It’s a strategy the Rays should consider.

The Rays turn to starting pitcher Blake Snell to help them rebound in Game 2. Snell has had an excellent season and very good postseason, with a 3.38 earned run average this October. The bigger question will be if the hitters can step up at the plate and produce runs early.

Tampa Bay Rays vs. Houston Astros AL Championship Series Preview

The Tampa Bay Rays (40-20) may have swept the Blue Jays in their Wild Card series, but they had a much harder time with the Yankees in the Division series. The Rays and Yankees were the only series to go the full five games, but the Rays managed to stay loose and have fun instead of tensing up. 

After winning game five on a Mike Brosseau home run in the bottom of the eighth inning, the Rays held a dance party in the dugout. The Rays may not have been able to pull off the sweep but expect them to come back with a mix of bullpen pitchers today. Each may pitch just a few innings, but Tampa Bay hopes that adds up to nine quality innings and a win.

The Houston Astros (29-31) have spent this playoffs fighting against the conventional wisdom, so there is no reason to doubt their chances in the AL Championship Series. The Astros brought a losing record into the playoffs and had been carrying the heavy label of Cheaters from the offseason. 

The Astros have responded by winning five of their six playoff games. The Chicago Cubs (34-26) won the NL Central pennant and the city of Chicago is electric that both of their baseball teams will be in the playoffs this fall. In fact, the Cubs won two games out of three against the White Sox on the last weekend of the regular season.

To be fair, they’ve played fewer games than most teams and rank third in on-base percentage, so they could make up for lost time as the season goes on. A successful series against the division-leading Braves would do dividends for Harper’s squad.

That’s not all too likely, however, as the Braves remain a highly efficient team. The season series between these two ballclubs is split with each team having won a game twice. Left-handed pitcher Max Fried, who will get the start, has been great for Atlanta. He’s allowed just four runs in 29 innings pitched with a spotless record so far this year.

If Fried can heat up early and maintain his composure throughout the game, the Braves should be able to tack another win onto their total in this shortened season.

It’s hard to know what to make of this Miami Marlins team considering how far behind the curve they are. Most other teams have played around 10 games more than the Marlins have, but it’s their own fault. After starting their season with a 2-1 series victory over the Philadelphia Phillies, it was revealed that four players had recently tested positive for COVID-19 and decided to play anyway, putting the entire MLB at risk.

All’s well that ends well as the Marlins are back to playing and have done well. They recently swept a three-game series against the Baltimore Orioles and took a game off the New York Mets at Citi Field. However, we have yet to see this club at full-strength with multiple players cycling in and out of the rotation to kick off the season.

That gives a noticeable advantage to the Atlanta Braves — An established group that’s amongst the best in the league in scoring with over 100 RBIs already in this young season. Left fielder Marcell Ozuna has been a revelation at the plate, placing near the top of the team in RBIs, hits, batting average and home runs.

They’ll need him to step up to take down a fiery Marlins team and its rotating cast of characters.

It’s been an interesting start to the season for the Minnesota Twins. They’ve defended Target field with honor, winning seven of eight games at home, but they haven’t traveled particularly well.

Kansas City swept a three-game series against the Twins ending with a 4-2 victory on Sunday. That matchup was galvanized by the return of third baseman Hunter Dozier, who hadn’t made his season debut after testing positive for COVID-19 in late-July. In his first at-bat, Dozier racked up two RBIs with his only hit in four chances at the plate.

The Twins are in the midst of a three-game series against a middling Milwaukee Brewers club. Left fielder Eddie Rosario punctuated the game with a grand slam in the third inning that gave the Twins a lead they never lost. Minnesota is all over the stat sheet this season, ranking fifth in home runs, fourth in earned run average and are tied for second in saves.

Kansas City hasn’t been quite as captivating as a whole, but shouldn’t be counted out. They’re a feisty group with some accurate sluggers with deceptive speed. The Royals rank second in total hits and are tied for second in hit percentage in addition to the third-most stolen bases on the year. Defense and pitching are going to be the keys to success in this matchup.

Minnesota and Kansas City meet for 10 games this season, so there’s plenty of time for the Twins to chip away at that series deficit. To make that happen, they need to take care of business in these three games at home.

How to watch Royals vs. Twins:

As usual, the game will be broadcasted locally by FSNO and FSKC. Those in local markets won’t be able to catch the national broadcast, which will be available on the MLB Network.

Today's Tampa Bay Rays and Boston Red Sox live stream will prove one thing, for sure: The Sox have got to find a way out of the divisional cellar.

We're 18 games (more or less) into the truncated COVID-19 season, with divisional play the name of the game. And going in to the Aug. 13 game in Boston — the final in this four-game series — the Rays have managed to keep the first-place Yankees within sight. The Sox, meanwhile, are looking up at everyone. 

The game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. Eastern and will be available on ESPN+.

Right-hander Tyler Glasnow (0-1, 5.56 ERA) is looking to pick up his first win on the season. He'll be going up against Boston's Kyle Hart, who's making his major-league debut in this game. He had a 3.52 ERA in 2019 between his time with Double-A Portland and Triple-A Pawtucket.

The Rays (11-8) have been hot in the AL East, winning five straight going into Wednesday's game in Boston and picking up seven of their last 10. Boston, meanwhile, lost three straight going into Wednesday and won just three of their last 10.

In the film Seth Rogan  stars as an Eastern European immigrant who somehow manages to get preserved in pickle brine in 1920. Sounds crazy, but with the year we’re all having also sounds like a totally normal thing to happen. Rogen plays both the main character and his great grandson in the film.

The Oakland Athletics will travel to the Pacific Northwest to battle their division rival Seattle Mariners Friday, July 31.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and MLB.TV for out-of-market viewers starting at 9:40 p.m. Eastern time, or 6:40 p.m. local time in Seattle. The game will be played without a crowd at T-Mobile Park in downtown Seattle. Fans in the area can catch the game on their local broadcast, which may be found and watched with a free trial on streaming services like Hulu with Live TV or YouTube TV .

Preview of Athletics vs. Mariners 

This matchup features two American League West teams, one trying to unseat the Houston Astros as division champs and the other attempting to escape the division's cellar. 

The Athletics' 2019 season ended at the hands of the Tampa Bay Rays during the wild card round of the Major League Baseball playoffs last year after winning 97 regular season games. That matched their win total from the previous season, but they've had the misfortune of being in the same division of the Astros, who have gone to the World Series twice in the past three years.

But 2020 is a new year. The Astros have been dogged by a cheating scandal and the regular season has been reduced to just 60 games due to the coronavirus pandemic. The latter makes for a lot of uncertainty in how the season will ultimately play out, but it does mean there will be an expanded 16-team postseason.

Friday night's game will mark the 2020 home opener for the Mariners, albeit with no fans in the stands due to the pandemic. They finished at the bottom of the division last year with just 68 wins and aren't expected to make much of a splash this year. 

The Mariners do feature outfielder Mallex Smith, who led the MLB with 46 stolen bases last year.

How to watch the Athletics vs. Mariners 

Both ESPN+ and MLB.TV are scheduled to carry the game for fans who don't live in the immediate area. Local fans using those services will be out of luck due to blackout restrictions. 

ESPN+ costs $5 a month, or $13 a month when bundled with Disney+ and Hulu. It doesn't require a cable subscription and offers some live sports and original programming, but it's only meant as a kind of an add-on for the worldwide leader in sports.

The Arizona Diamondbacks will mark their 2020 home opener against the Los Angeles Dodgers Thursday, July 30 from Chase Field in Phoenix, in what has already proved to be a strange, pandemic-altered baseball season.

Those living outside the local market for this game can catch it on ESPN+, which is a streaming service offered by the sports media giant that doesn't carry the network's flagship programming but provides some live sports and original shows. MLB.TV will also carry the game, but like ESPN+, that's only for out-of-market games.

Thursday's game will start at 9:40 p.m. Eastern time, or 7:40 p.m. local time in Phoenix.

Thursday's game won't necessarily feel like a home opener for the Diamondbacks. Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, which has hit Arizona especially hard recently, the MLB is going without fans in the stands this year. 

That hasn't prevented the coronavirus from affecting play. A few games were postponed in recent days after players and coaches on the Miami Marlins tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, according to various news reports. Some commentators have even suggested the entire season is in danger, given that the outbreak emerged just a few games into an abbreviated 60-game regular season.

Given the ongoing uncertainty, you might as well watch as much baseball while you still can, right? 

This matchup features the Dodgers, a team CBS Sports predicts will finish atop the National League by winning two-thirds of their games this year. After winning a NL-best 106 games last year, they snagged right fielder Mookie Betts from the Boston Red Sox, adding to a lineup that already includes the reigning NL MVP Cody Bellinger. 

The Diamondbacks are no slouches, though. CBS pegged them as the fifth seed in the NL for the expanded 16-team playoffs after they added former San Francisco Giants ace Madison Bumgarner to their pitching rotation.

How to watch the Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks

This game will be carried on ESPN+, which comes with a $5 a month price tag. The service can be bundled with Disney+ and Hulu for $13 per month, however. So if you're looking to supplement your baseball viewing habits with the vast Disney vault and Hulu's catalog of TV shows, that might be the option for you. 

Keep in mind: ESPN+ no longer comes with a free trial.And you won't be able to catch your local team (or teams) on ESPN+ due to blackout rules.

Similarly, MLB.TV will carry the game for fans outside the local area. You have a few options with that package. For the year, you'll pay $60 to stream every team's out-of-market games live or on-demand. MLB.TV is advertising three-day free trials.
