Taylor Sheridan continues to be one of the busiest men in Hollywood, with his latest neo-western, The Madison, introducing The Clyburn family. We’ve said it since Beyond the Gates premiered, there’s something peculiar about Hayley (Marquita Goings). We couldn’t figure out why Bill’s (Timon Kyle Durrett) mistress-turned-wife was so pressed to be accepted in the same spaces as Dani (Karla Mosley) and the rest of the Duprees.

So yes, no one wants to feel isolated, but Hayley’s been incredibly dense about not understanding why the Duprees don’t think highly of a woman who befriended the family only to wind up “stealing” Dani’s husband.

Fast forward to the recent storyline of Hayley allegedly being pregnant, and we can’t figure out why she’s seemingly lying. Although she tried her best to convince everyone in Fairmont Crest that she’s carrying Bill’s child, Dani, Ashley (Jen Jacob) and now Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) doubt that’s ever been the case. And then in the Beyond the Gates episode that aired on August 7, after causing a scene at the bar in an argument with Dani, Hayley claims to have lost the baby.

Let’s say are suspicions are warranted about Hayley wanting to be with Bill, be around the Duprees and faking a pregnancy. Then you have to wonder why and what her endgame is.

Taking a guess, we have a hunch that Hayley may be playing a long game of revenge, either against Bill or Dani. It could be Bill, as he’s proven himself to be a shrewd and manipulative attorney, willing to dibble and dabble in the legal grey area to get a job done. Perhaps there is someone whom he’s wronged in the past, and that person is a relative of Hayley. Along those lines, Hayley could have taken it upon herself to befriend Naomi, seduce Bill and have something big planned for him, yet to be revealed.

On the other hand, if Hayley’s gripe is with Dani for something the model did to her or a loved one, well, Hayley has already done a pretty good job at unraveling Dani’s life. Hayley has Dani’s husband, and if Hayley makes everyone believe Dani is the cause of her losing a child, then perhaps Hayley hopes Dani’s loved ones will see her as some kind of monster as well.

Now, yes, we’re fully aware that playing a long game of revenge is more Leslie/Dana’s (Trisha Mann-Grant) style, evidenced by her plot against Ted (Keith Robinson). However, in the soap world, there’s always room for more than one villain on a show’s canvas. Heck, Hayley may prove to be more meniacle than even Leslie.

As much as we would love Beyond the Gates’ Dani (Karla Mosley) and Andre (Sean Freeman) to stop playing games and respectively cut off romantic feelings for Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Ashley (Jen Jacob), the model and photographer continue to make their dynamic complicated.

This is in spite of the fact that the duo has amazing chemistry, the Duprees largely approve of Dani being with him and Andre wanting to initially commit to her. Now, Andre is ready to throw his weight behind a relationship with Ashley, which we can only assume will aggravate Dani.

Well, let’s say Andre and Ashley do become an item, and Dani opts not to fight for “her man.” With Andre off the board and Bill happily married to Hayley (Marquita Goings) (although we suspect that marriage is living on borrowed time), Dani may be owed another love interest to blow into Fairmont Crest. Thankfully for her, Beyond the Gates’ creator Michele Val Jean and executive producer Sheila Ducksworth recently shared that a “hot male” is headed to the show’s canvas. Ducksworth in particular stated, “I can’t say who just yet, but I will say longtime soap fans all know and love him!”

While we can speculate on which familiar actor is headed to the soap, we might as well speculate who he may be paired with in a romantic situation, if romance is on the table. Again, that brings us back to Dani. If our suspicion here is correct, while we think Dani may soon find herself grinning from ear to ear, we don’t think everyone in town will be jumping with glee.

We can imagine a scenario where the heartthrob heading to town is actually an old flame of Dani’s. Someone who once served as a rival to Bill for Dani’s heart, once upon a time. Bill probably wouldn’t be happy to see this mystery man and may even find himself getting jealous, despite him now being married to his former mistress.

Andre may also feel a certain way seeing Dani fall hard for a man, even getting into a relationship with him. After all, Andre tried a few times to take things to the next level with Dani, but she wasn’t going for it. So to see her move on quickly and more seriously with someone other than him, and even Bill, may cause Andre to be jealous as well.

At the moment, this possible development in Dani’s love life is based in theory. However, we can definitely envision it happening in the near future.

When Beyond the Gates’ Hayley (Marquita Goings) announced she was pregnant, it didn’t take long for us to find ourselves agreeing with Dani (Karla Mosley) that Hayley was lying.

This especially became true as Hayley started acting nervous surrounding the topic of a sonogram and began making mysterious phone calls to someone not yet revealed to viewers.

Thinking along these lines, we tried to figure out by what means Hayley would pull off such a scheme. She would have to fake doctor appointments, a pregnancy bump and eventually, a delivery. It’s not hard to imagine her having hired a surrogate, but if that were the case, we still have questions about the paternity of the child and whether or not the baby would be Bill’s (Timon Kyle Durrett). Also, how would she pull off a secret surrogacy without some help from a team?

Fast forward to the week of August 4, and looking at the following preview clip for the Beyond the Gates episodes, it appears Hayley experiences some bleeding, and Dani will be on hand to witness it. While it’s possible the new Mrs. Bill Hamilton could be experiencing some real pregnancy complications, we have to consider that she could be acting in an effort to cover up her lying about being pregnant in the first place.

With all that being said, and if we’re proven correct about Hayley’s duplicitous pregnancy scheme, then we believe it’s only a matter of time before a person who is helping Hayley is revealed, or she recruits someone else to aid her further in carrying out the scheme. Someone like Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant).

Leslie, at the moment, is on an island of one (with a few visits from Eva [Ambyr Michelle]). She lacks allies and is in need of money, as she currently is relying on money from her daughter. Hayley and Leslie previously had a conversation and know each other, but perhaps they will have another in the future that sparks the idea of them working together to carry out this pregnancy plot. In exchange for Leslie’s help, Hayley may offer a hefty lump sum.

Admittedly, we’re intrigued by the idea of Leslie and Hayley partnering up to pull off a scheme. The outsiders trying to trick the Dupree/Hamilton/Richardson machine. However, given this is the soap world, when a partnership of this magnitude comes to light, you better believe it will make for an explosive time in Fairmont Crest.

Since Beyond the Gates first debuted in February, Dani (Karla Mosley) has emerged as one of the more fiery personalities who tends to shift the moods for the other players on the show’s canvas.

Case in point, Dani completely shook Fairmont Crest to its core when she appeared at Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Hayley’s (Marquita Goings) wedding with a gun in hand. While we don’t necessarily anticipate Dani doing a wild follow-up to that extreme in the near future, we do believe she is about to make a bold decision.

What decision, you ask? Well, while we think it will again involve matters of the heart, this time we have a hunch it will be about Andre (Sean Freeman) instead of her ex-husband.

For months now, Dani and Andre have been entangled in a steamy romance, perhaps the hottest on the show. However, despite Andre’s attempts to make them something more than bedroom buddies, Dani has pumped the brakes at every turn, afraid to be hurt again. Plus, she still has love for Bill.

Dani’s hesitation has naturally pushed Andre into the arms of newly single Ashley (Jen Jacob). Although Andre is dating Ashley now, he finds himself still having romps in the hay with Dani, most recently agreeing to shag in the episode that aired on August 4.

With all of that being said, and with more of the Duprees now knowing about Dani and Andre, Dani showing some jealousy toward Ashley after catching Ashley and Andre on a date and Dani set to receive a wake-up call from Pam (Cady McClain), we have to consider Dani is about to throw down the metaphorical gauntlet. We suspect Dani may throw caution to the wind and finally tell Andre she wants to be with him.

Unfortunately for Dani, we don’t see her romantic rival Ashley just slinking away. Andre has had a connection with Ashley since the show’s premiere, but he didn’t pursue anything to respect her relationship with Derek (Ben Gavin). But now that she’s single, he’s planning dates for her and hoping for more. Additionally, Ashley seems rather content with pursuing things with Andre. So, how does Dani clear the path for herself to make #Dandre official?

If we had to guess, Dani may start to play matchmaker for Ashley. We wouldn’t be surprised if Dani launched a plot to rekindle things between Derek and Ashley. The two recently shared a sweet moment, so Dani pushing Derek and Ashley back together may not actually be too difficult. However, if she’s caught manipulating matters of the heart, she may face the wrath of Ashley, Derek and maybe even Andre.

From the moment Beyond the Gates’ Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) revealed to all of Fairmont Crest about her affair with Ted (Keith Robinson), it’s become painfully obvious that despite all her ranting about how wrong he treated her and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) in the past, Leslie desperately wants to reunite with her former flame.

Whenever Leslie and Ted are in the same room, she’s practically throwing herself at him. Unfortunately for her, he’s yet to take her bait, and unfortunately for him, she’s proven she is not the type to give up.

Ted has made it perfectly clear that he is only focused on reuniting with Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix). But Nicole has maintained, especially in light of the Martin (Brandon Claybon) revelation, that she has no desire to save her marriage. Additionally, in the Beyond the Gates preview clip for the week of August 4, Nicole finds herself in the company of Ted’s business partner, Dr. Carlton Fitzgerald (Robert Christopher Riley). He puts a smile on her face and goes so far as to ask her out. Check out the clip:

After watching the clip, it dawned on us. We can imagine a scenario in which Leslie catches Nicole and Carlton in an intimate moment, and Leslie comes up with the idea to partner with Carlton to officially break up Nicole and Ted. While Carlton may initially reject any pitches from Leslie to work with her to officially put a seal of divorce on Nicole and Ted’s marriage, he could wind up changing his tune if Nicole starts to appear as if she’ll forgive Ted.

Now, what could a Leslie and Carlton alliance look like? Well, perhaps it’s Leslie and Carlton working together to ensure there are more occurrences where Nicole catches Leslie around Ted or the two entangled in a kiss, or them working with each other to make sure Ted catches Nicole in romantic instances with Carlton.

Should our hunch prove correct, then we have to also assume the day would come when Carlton would deeply regret partnering with Leslie. The woman is unpredictable and has a habit of going dangerously rogue. Let’s not forget, this is the same soap villain who ran an innocent Laura (Destiny Love) off the road.

As the saying goes, “Every dog has its day,” and The Young and the Restless’ Kyle (Michael Mealor) appears to be having a few back to back.

After busting Audra (Zuleyka Silver) in her seduction attempts to destroy his relationship with Claire (Hayley Erin), The Young and the Restless August 4 episode sees Kyle also with a front-row seat to Claire taking Victor (Eric Braeden) to task for his constant interference with the #Kylaire relationship. Although Claire’s harsh words for her grandfather come at the inopportune and somber time of Cole’s (J. Eddie Peck) funeral, Kyle couldn’t help but flash a quick smirk seeing his girlfriend stand up for him.

Sadly for Kyle, we think his victories may wind up being short-lived as everything involving Audra comes to light. Although it’s been indicated that Kyle will confess to Claire that he kissed Audra as part of a scheme to bust her for her attempts to ruin their relationship, we can see that kiss becoming the kiss of death to his love life with Claire. While it appears Claire may hear the truth and still remain committed to Kyle, things may change once Claire can see for herself the steamy exchange between Kyle and Audra.

Back when the steamy peck happened, we developed a theory that the action was caught on video. Cane (Billy Flynn) had hidden cameras all around his French estate, and we couldn’t help but think a camera spotted the liplock, and the footage would be used later in a soapy blackmail plot. Fast forward to the present, and we have a hunch that’s bound to happen rather quickly with Cane being the blackmailer and Kyle his victim.

We can imagine Cane going to Kyle with the video and threatening to expose it to Claire if Kyle doesn’t do his bidding. With Cane determined to one-up Victor and get his hands on Chancellor and possibly a piece of Newman Enterprises, Cane might want Kyle to behave as a spy on Claire to get inside information on the Newmans. Cane already put Holden (Nathan Owens) up to this task more or less, but Cane may want some reassurance that he gets the vital information that he needs.

Now Kyle could always claim he won’t do what Cane is asking and reassure Cane that he already told Claire the truth, but Cane may prove rather convincing with the video.

Kyle might leave some steamy details out of his confession to Claire, like him being in only a towel when he kissed Audra. Kyle may also forget to mention to Claire that he and Audra had a few other “flirtatious” moments in France (i.e., him leaning in close to smell her perfume, which on camera may look completely different). If Cane threatens to show Claire the footage, Kyle may wind up agreeing to help Cane out to oddly enough save his relationship.

The irony in all of this is that if we’re right, Kyle would wind up lying to his partner, a huge reason why he literally ended his marriage with Summer (Allison Lanier). Additionally, it would be rather interesting that, should the truth wind up coming out anyway (as it usually does in soaps), and Claire dumps Kyle, Audra probably won’t receive her due credit from Victor for the demise of #Kylaire.

It’s been over a month since The Young and the Restless’ Cane (Billy Flynn) revealed himself to Aristotle Dumas, and I’ve been patiently waiting to lock into this new iteration of the character. To really feel invested in his new ominous portrayal, this mysterious obsession with Chancellor and this need to prove he’s a worthy adversary of Victor (Eric Braeden). Unfortunately, I’m admittedly just not a fan.

Now to be clear, my feelings of disappointment don’t rest on Flynn’s shoulders. He’s a fine actor, so this isn’t directed at his talent.

With that being said, Flynn has his own take on the Cane character that is markedly different from former Cane potrayer, Daniel Goddard. Flynn’s Cane is a little more conniving and dubious in my opinion, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Especially, since there’s still so much to be unpacked surrounding what Cane has been doing offscreen in his six-year absence from Genoa City.

This brings me to the storyline that ushered Cane back into The Young and the Restless fold. For months, viewers watched as the hype around who could be behind Aristotle Dumas was developed. He was built up as a mystery billionaire who could compete with The Great Victor Newman when it came to business. So when Cane was revealed to Aristotle, it was like the math wasn’t “mathing.”

Yes, I predicted Aristotle would be Cane a while ago based on the breadcrumbs left by show writers, but him confirming my suspicions and explaining he got the money to become a billionaire tycoon on the back of bitcoin investments, I just find it hard to believe.

His reveal felt like The Wizard being shown to be a culmination of smoke and mirrors in The Wizard of Oz. Sure, it’s possible the bitcoin story is true, but Cane and his father spent much of their previous time on the show involved in cons, scams and lies. It’s hard to believe they reconciled before Colin (Tristan Rogers) died, and they went legitimate to amass this large fortune.

Additionally, say what you will about Victor being a “villain” in his own right, but the man is the savviest tactician in all of The Young and the Restless business world. Plus, he’s had his share of enemies over the years, and you’d be hard pressed to recall one that’s been able to defeat Victor (sure, he’s lost a few battles, but never the war). And if Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) hasn’t taken down The Mustache, I fail to comprehend how Cane thinks he’ll be able to do the honors just because the size of his bank account has grown. He doesn't feel like a viable contender for the Newman patriarch.

Also, let’s talk about the fact that Cane’s reveal quickly fizzled into a series of murders that feel premature. Damian (Jermaine Rivers) wasn’t even on the show for a year before he was killed because of Cane’s assistant. Damian’s relationships with Nate (Sean Dominic) and Lily (Christel Khalil) were just starting to really cement, so I feel cheated that viewers won’t get to see the possibilities thanks to Cane. Since I was already a bit disenchanted with him because of the Victor angle, this hasn’t helped.

Oh, and then to have Cane murder off one of the very few Chancellors left in Chance (Conner Floyd) feels like a slap in the face of longtime viewers. The Chancellor name once commanded respect, fear and adoration in Genoa City. Now, it feels like another great family is being phased out of the canvas of the show.

Lastly, because I felt disconnected with Cane due to this “rivalry” with Victor and his hand in Damian and Chance’s murders, I’ve found it hard to enjoy this French excursion on The Young and the Restless, and it’s lasted for weeks. So the trip coming to an end is a great thing in my book.

While I’ll just have to give this new Cane a little more runway to land the plane here, I hope it happens soon. Getting the real story of his newfound finances and him being shown why Victor is Victor for a reason are a great place to start.

As The Young and the Restless brings the now-infamous French getaway at Cane’s (Billy Flynn) estate to a close, many residents of Genoa City find themselves in interesting predicaments.

For example, Lily (Christel Khalil) is forced to come to terms with the fact that the guy she was falling for, Damian (Jermaine Rivers), is now gone, arguably in large part due to her ex-husband’s antics.

We also acknowledge that Chance (Conner Floyd) is dead, Nick (Joshua Morrow) nearly died, Kyle (Michael Mealor) busted Audra (Zuleyka Silver) and Billy (Jason Thompson) essentially is opting to throw his new company away in an attempt to partner with Cane and Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) to take over Chancellor.

While there were certainly many things that occurred in Europe over these past few weeks, Genoa City was also experiencing some turmoil. Let’s not forget that Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Claire (Hayley Erin) lost Cole (J. Eddie Peck). And while Damian was murdered in France, when Lily calls Nate (Sean Dominic) in The Young and the Restless episode airing on July 29, Nate is absolutely gutted by the news.

Speaking of Victoria and Nate, we couldn’t help but notice how they’ve managed to gravitate toward one another while their loved ones have been in France. Outside of a moment with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), Nate has been Victoria’s support system as she dealt with her emotions surrounding Cole’s illness and eventual death. Heck, again in the episode from July 29, before Nate finds out about his brother, he shows up at Victoria’s house to be with her and Claire as they plan to lay Cole to rest (the funeral is ultimately postponed until their loved ones return home).

Conversely, after Lily told Nate via phone that Damian had been killed, he turns to Victoria for comfort. He is in such disbelief that a brother he had only recently discovered existed could be dead before they could really develop a solid bond. Plus, he’s dreading having to deliver the news to Amy (Valarie Pettiford), as Damian was her only child, and they just reconnected.

With all this mutual exchange of support between Victoria and Nate, we can’t help but think they could be headed toward a reunion. Sure, some may argue that they’re just two exes turned platonic friends leaning on each other during a time of grief. However, in the soap world, this is the kind of stuff that lays the groundwork for a romance (unless you’re Jack [Peter Bergman] and Nikki [Melody Thomas Scott]).

Now, if the two are headed toward a #Vate 2.0 relationship, they likely face a major challenge. Given how spectacularly their previous relationship flamed out, many may assume we’re talking about Victor coming between them.

That’s certainly a possibility, as Victoria can never have a romance without her dad interfering. However, we think if Victoria and Nate give it a go again, Victoria will do more to stand up to Victor and fight for her love life, and Nate, in turn, will be appreciative. Perhaps seeing Claire fight for her relationship with Kyle will give her inspiration.

With all that being said, we think Audra could present a problem. Although Audra was willing to cheat on Nate with Kyle to ensure she had a firm grasp on Vibrante, going as far as to make out with him, we suspect she’s hoping to keep her relationship with Nate intact. Nate, on the other hand, may not be so willing to stay in a relationship with Audra, especially in light of him grieving his brother. But even if Nate wants to end things, we can’t say that’s it for Audra.

Because her plans for Kyle failed and Victor won’t be pleased to hear that she hasn’t successfully kept their end of their bargain, he might pull funding for Vibrante. That may leave her a bit desperate. We can imagine a desperate Audra resorting to one of the oldest tricks in soap opera history to keep Nate in her orbit — a pregnancy.

Is it possible that Audra fakes a pregnancy with Nate to keep him around and maybe even get herself a position at Winters in the process? Sure, it is. She would ultimately have to then get pregnant by Nate for real or pretend to be with child for nine months until she can adopt a child or get a surrogate.

Look, we’re fully aware that this hypothetical storyline sounds dramatic and maybe even far-fetched. But again, this is the soap world, so anything can happen.

Finn makes a startling discovery in The Bold and the Beautiful recap for July 28, 2025.

We begin the week on a sunny day in Malibu, where Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) asks Finn (Tanner Novlan) if he minds that she’s getting out of LA to “recharge” and take some much-needed time away. “Take it,” he says, reminding her how much he loves her.

Bill (Don Diamont) asks the nurse how Liam (Scott Clifton) is doing. The nurse is “impressed” with how well he’s doing. Liam credits modern medicine, and Bill says he’s grateful for cash. Liam asks what he means.

Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Eric (John McCook) get their things together before their flight. Eric once again reminds Ridge that this is a chance to get back with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). Meanwhile, in the design office, Taylor (Rebecca Budig) is reminding Brooke that she has plans and a future with Ridge and nothing will get in their way, not even her.

Steffy says she’s going to miss Finn. They tell each other that they’re everything to each other before sharing a kiss.

Liam wants to know how much Bill spent, and he finally realizes that Bill spent a million dollars on something he didn’t know would work. “Liam, money doesn’t matter to me. You do,” Bill says.

Eric reminds Ridge that Nick is “circling Brooke like a shark,” and Ridge looks uncomfortable.

Brooke insists that this is a business trip, but Taylor asks how many Brooke’s Bedroom pieces she packed. Brooke tells her she’s awfully insecure for a woman wearing an engagement ring. Taylor is nonplussed, telling Brooke to save the game for someone else. She leaves, and Nick walks in, asking if that was Taylor “leaving in a huff.” He is about to leave, and he shows her his passport as a reminder that he’ll be in Italy, too. Brooke smiles.

Steffy says she wouldn’t leave town if Liam weren’t doing well. Finn says the MRI “seems” to indicate that he’s doing well, but Grace won’t get back to him, and it feels like she’s avoiding him. Steffy knows he’ll get to the bottom of it.

Bill says he needs to talk to Liam now that they’re through this. “I love you, son, and I’m so proud of the man you are, and the father you are. If you had left this world, the best of me would have gone with you,” he says, saying that he’s always battled the worst aspect of his personality. He never should have tried to mold Liam into his own image. He knows his armor helps him in business, but it has destroyed his personal life and he’s glad Liam pushed back. He pushed back about Luna, and he was “spot on” about her. He’s so grateful that Liam survived because he wouldn’t have survived having to bury his son. “I love you, Liam,” Bill says. They share an emotional hug.

Taylor finds Ridge in the CEO office and kisses him without saying a word. After they pull apart, she says it’s to remind him that she’ll miss him.

Nick says they can have fun in Italy. Brooke has to travel with Ridge and Eric, but he makes her promise that her “favorite sea captain” can fit into her schedule so they can get out on the water. Eric walks in as Nick kisses her and says he’ll see her in Naples. Eric looks upset.

Nick takes a business call in another office, and Eric finds him. When he ends the call, he asks how Eric is doing. Eric knows Nick is trying to get Brooke, and he doesn’t want him to interfere. Nick blames Ridge for marrying Taylor, leading Eric to tell Nick to stay away from Naples.

Steffy walks in to say goodbye to her parents, who agree she needs some time away. They ask for updates from her, and she asks the same from them. She says she’s so happy having a great marriage, great kids, Liam healthy and parents who are back together. Steffy knows Brooke will try to get back together, but she has faith in Ridge.

Finn walks in on Bill and Liam to see how Liam is doing. Liam thanks Finn for taking care of him since he’s not really his patient. Bill gets a meeting reminder and has to leave. He stops to say something to Liam and pauses. “I love you, too, Dad,” Liam says.

Liam tells Finn about all of his visitors, including Sheila. Liam credits Sheila for taking a bullet to save Steffy, but Finn credits Liam. Finn asks if Liam has gotten any more information from Grace about the surgery. Liam hasn’t heard anything, so Finn asks to check the incisions. Finn checks under the bandages and comes away looking very concerned, leading Liam to wonder what’s wrong.

Brooke walks into the office and says that Deuce says the plane is ready. She greets Steffy and Taylor and says the trip will be interesting. Eric walks in and says Naples is waiting. Steffy hugs Ridge, and then Taylor gives him a big kiss.

Nick pulls up photos of Capri and thinks back to his adventures with Brooke. He thinks back to his memories and smiles. “A new chapter. A new life for us, Brooke, and it starts in Italy,” he says.

Liam asks what’s wrong, and Grace (Cassandra Creech) walks in as Finn says that the incisions were smaller than he would have expected. She ducks outside before she’s seen while Finn explains that they should have been bigger. Liam asks if that’s a good thing for the healing process, citing his strong vitals and good progress. Finn is puzzled that Grace hasn’t been there to check on him. Liam admits he feels “weirdly fine” in a short amount of time. “It’s unbelievable,” Finn agrees. Outside, Grace looks panicked.

We begin today at Forrester Creations, where Eric (John McCook) continues to pressure Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) about Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang). “Life is short,” Eric says, reminding Ridge that he learned you have to hang onto love because tomorrow may never come. Ridge says he loves Taylor, but Eric says Brooke is the love of his life, and the trip to Italy is their chance. If he wastes it, he may lose Brooke for the rest of his life. Brooke walks in and asks if she’s interrupting.

Taylor (Rebecca Budig) asks Nick (Jack Wagner) about his trip to Naples. She jokes that he has business all over the world, so she knows he’s going there for Brooke. He smiles.

Finn (Tanner Novlan) is still trying to reach Grace, but she’s not answering his calls. He leaves another message as Bridget (Ashley Jones) walks in. Bridget also has questions for Grace and this mysterious procedure.

The nurse checks on Liam (Scott Clifton) and tells Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) that he’s doing “surprisingly well.” Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) walks in on crutches and sees Steffy. She starts to leave, but Steffy asks her to come back.

Bridget and Finn are so confused about the surgery and why Grace hasn’t been around since. Finn has questions about how she pulled it off.

Sheila is stunned that Steffy doesn’t want her to leave. “I’m actually glad you’re here,” Steffy says, noting that the last time they saw each other, she got shot trying to save her. Sheila says Liam got the worst of it, but Steffy is grateful for what she did. “I just want to say thank you,” Steffy says.

Taylor calls it “lucky” that Nick is going to be in Naples at the same time as Brooke. Taylor asks for a favor, telling him it’s something he’ll like because it has to do with Brooke.

Ridge assures Brooke that she’s not interrupting anything. Eric praises Italy’s passion and romance, noting that those are two things that Brooke and Ridge know a lot about.

Nick is curious about Taylor’s request for a favor. She admits she has a “long history” with Brooke, and Nick knows he was part of it. Taylor asks Nick to keep an eye on Brooke while she’s in Italy with Ridge.

Brooke agrees with Eric that she feels alive in Italy. Ridge asks if Eric is “overselling” Italy, but Eric says “the heart wants what the heart wants.” Eric gives them some time alone, saying it’s going to be a “transformative trip.” They laugh at his subtlety, but Brooke tells Ridge that the heart wants what the heart wants.

Finn and Bridget don’t understand how Grace could perform a surgery on Liam when he was in such a delicate situation, but Bridget eventually wonders if Grace knew there wasn’t enough time to wait. Even so, Finn just wants to ask her some questions.

Sheila asks if this means all is forgiven between them. Steffy won’t go that far, but she will concede that she appreciates what Sheila did. Luna tried to kill her, and she knows Sheila wanted her gone, too. She knows they could have gotten what they wanted by getting Steffy out of the picture, but she risked her life trying to save her, and it’s not something Steffy will ever forget.

Bridget knows Bill was trying to save Liam’s life, and Grace must have told him they had to move within a day. Finn understands what she’s saying, but there are still so many questions.

Sheila won’t overstay her welcome, but she wanted to make sure Liam was ok. She knows Luna was troubled, and she hoped she would turn her life around, but she couldn’t. Liam is glad Luna can’t hurt anyone anymore. As she moves to leave, Steffy asks about her foot, and Sheila decides to show them. She props her foot on the bed, revealing a big gap between her big toe and the next two toes. “They can’t call me Sheila Nine Toes anymore because I’m Sheila Eight Toes,” she says, telling them they have to laugh at it. Liam and Steffy don’t look so sure.

Nick asks Taylor if she wants him to spy on Brooke and Ridge, admitting that his spy skills are rusty. Taylor knows Brooke will go after what she wants, which means Ridge. She needs someone to look after her own interests, especially since they want the same thing: to keep Brooke away from Ridge. Taylor calls the idea “comforting.” Nick says he’s going to think about it.

Ridge tells Brooke that Eric is playing matchmaker. Brooke says they’re meant to be together, and they all know it. Hopefully, the trip will bring that back into focus. Ridge says he’s building a life with Taylor. Brooke says his relationship is built on a misunderstanding. She loves him so much and asks him to think about sitting together at a cafe, ordering pizza and chianti. They’ll go back to the hotel and “do what we do best, we’ll love each other.” She smiles at him.

Brooke keeps offering imaginary scenarios to Ridge, who says it can’t happen. “You can’t have dinner with me?” she asks. She wants to know when he’s going to come to his senses. Taylor walks up to the door and hears Brooke telling Ridge that he’ll never love Taylor the way he loves her. She wants them to work things out. Brooke says that if Ridge won’t have dinner with her, Nick will. “It should be you,” Brooke tells him. And he knows it should be her, too. Taylor closes her eyes.

Liam calls Steffy and Sheila’s conversation “interesting,” noting that seeing her foot was the “can’t-miss event of the season.” Steffy says she hasn’t made any plans when it comes to forgiveness. Steffy says she’s thinking about taking Kelly and Hayes out of town for some time to recover from the stress of the past few months. Liam says that he has more time now, and he’ll be there when she comes back, and they can put it all behind them. She tells him how much she loves him.

Finn keeps looking at Liam’s scans, wondering what really happened to him.

Brooke grabs her purse in the design office. Taylor walks in and asks if Brooke is packing. She says they were going to have dinner before their flight. Brooke says Ridge has a lot to do before they leave, so he’s not available. Taylor asks if Brooke understands what that means. “Ridge is with me, and there’s nothing you can do in Italy to change that. Nothing is coming between Ridge and me.”

We begin today at the Spencer Estate, where Liam (Scott Clifton) looks at his get well card and assures Kelly that he’s ok while Bill (Don Diamont) and Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) look on. The nurse reveals that his vital signs are good, and he credits Kelly and Beth. Bill says his little girls are what gives him strength. Steffy can’t believe it, but she has to admit that Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) is a hero, too.

Deacon (Sean Kanan) walks into Il Giardino to find Sheila playing games with the staff. He tells a foot joke, which makes her laugh. When Finn (Tanner Novlan) walks in, she looks surprised to see him. He says he wanted to check on her and to thank her for what she did to protect Steffy. She looks at Deacon, who smiles at her. Sheila looks thrilled.

Katie (Heather Tom) can’t believe Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) told Ridge that she wants to bring Nick on her work trip. She tells her sister that he wasn’t happy about it.

Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) is in the office with Eric (John McCook) when he gets some paperwork from the shipping department. It has been stuck on Nick’s ship because he was messing with Ridge. Ridge pledges to protect the people he cares about.

Taylor (Rebecca Budig) welcomes Nick (Jack Wagner) into Eric’s house. After greeting each other with jokes and pleasantries, he says he needs her “take” on something as a “woman involved with Ridge.” She reminds him that they’re engaged, and he thinks that’s enough to end Brooke’s pursuit of Ridge.

Kelly tells Liam that she loved their father-daughter dance. Bill suggests that he and Kelly go to the kitchen for a snack so Steffy can have time with Liam. Liam can’t believe Kelly almost lost both of her parents on the same day. He recalls that the first thing he saw was Sheila on the floor, shot by her own granddaughter.

Sheila can’t fathom the idea that Finn is there to thank her, but he wants to express his gratitude for what she did at the beach house. Sheila took a bullet to protect Steffy. “That was a very courageous thing to do,” he tells her.

Nick asks if Taylor knows about the Forrester trip to Italy. He needs to be in Naples for business anyway, so he wants Taylor to accompany him to help him with his plans.

Brooke assures Katie that she’s not trying to steal Ridge away by going to Italy with Nick. Katie can’t imagine Ridge was happy hearing Nick’s name. Brooke knows that it would have been disrespectful to Ridge and Eric to bring Nick while she’s away on business.

Eric asks Ridge if he’s going to protect Brooke from Nick. He asks what would happen if Nick shows up on his own, given that he could do just that even though he’s not invited.

Liam and Steffy discuss the details of the attack. There was a struggle and the gun went off, Steffy says. “And then Sheila ended up with eight toes.” Liam credits Finn for saving his life on the operating table and now he owes her. Steffy hopes Sheila can keep up what she’s done.

Sheila tells Finn she did what anyone would do. Deacon wants her to give herself more credit. Finn says he’ll never forget what she did. Sheila tells them that Luna carried a lot of scars from her past and she doesn’t think Luna truly meant to harm anyone.

Nick admits he’s been enjoying Brooke’s company. He notes their history together, and Taylor imagines that he’d like to make more history with her. Nick agrees, and he credits Naples as the perfect place to do it.

Katie wonders what Taylor thinks about all of it. Brooke knows Taylor would love for Brooke to fall madly in love with Nick so she can leave Ridge alone.

Ridge reminds Eric that he’s in love with Taylor and they’re getting married. Eric is aware of that, but he thinks the engagement is based on a “flimsy foundation” based on a misunderstanding. He reminds Ridge that Stephanie was “pigheaded” about Brooke but she still cared about her. He knows Ridge loves Taylor but she’s not his Logan and they both know it.

Steffy was terrified seeing Liam get shot, thinking she’d lost him. She couldn’t even say goodbye, and it was all because of Luna. But Liam lived. He not only survived being shot, but he beat cancer. “I’m so grateful for the miracle of you,” she says.

Sheila is delighted that Finn is there, but Luna’s life was cut short and she can imagine Finn feels conflicted. She knows he must be hurting, too.

Nick says that if Taylor comes to Italy, they could double date. She reminds him that it’s a business trip and it’s about fashion. She’s a psychiatrist. She’s also not feeling insecure about it. Nick doesn’t think she’s being honest with herself. He’s seen the fashion show and he knows Eric is rooting for Brooke. What if it happens again?

Brooke assures Katie she’s going to Italy for business. Katie knows she’ll be there with Ridge, and when Brooke says Eric will be there, too, Katie points out that Eric is rooting for her to be with Ridge.

Ridge tells Eric to drop it, but he won’t do it. “Not while you’re treating Brooke the way you are. It’s so unfair. You could lose her forever.”

Liam says words won’t express how blessed he feels after spending so much time trying to prepare to say goodbye. There’s no one he loves more than Steffy, Hope, Beth and Kelly. Steffy is so glad he’s not going anywhere.

Finn doesn’t really want to talk about Luna, but he wants to thank her for saving Steffy. Sheila says people really can change and Deacon agrees that he’s seen it firsthand in her. Sheila grabs Deacon’s hand and says she is better because of Deacon, and she thinks Luna could have changed it Luna had the right opportunity.

Taylor refuses to “throw shade” at her future father-in-law, but Nick doesn’t think it’s right that Eric is trying to separate them while she’s living in his house. That’s why Nick thinks Taylor should be in Naples keeping an eye on her fiance.

Brooke thinks about all of the magic in Italy, daydreaming about all of the memories there. She smiles.

Eric tells Ridge that he put Brooke in the fashion show for a reason. He understands why Ridge wants to marry Taylor for the kids, but his life with Taylor would “pale” next to his life with Brooke. What scares Eric is if Ridge woke up and realized Brooke was gone.

No matter how you look at it, The Young and the Restless’ Cane (Billy Flynn) has hosted arguably the worst international getaway in the soap’s history.

Because of all his duplicitous planning and shady staff, Damian (Jermaine Rivers) was murdered, Nick (Joshua Morrow) almost bled to death, nearly all his party guests are terrified and now, as of the July 28 episode, Chance (Conner Floyd) is dead. (We have our qualms about another member of the already sparse Chancellor family dying, but that’s a topic for some other day.)

As it turns out, during the episode in question, Carter (Vincent Stalba) confesses to Cane that he indeed murdered Damian, and did so in order for Cane to have a clear path to reconciliation with Lily (Christel Khalil). Carter then pleads with his horrified boss for help fleeing the country, but Cane rejects his request. This prompts Carter to freak out, and Chance, who was eavesdropping nearby, to announce himself and insist on holding Carter until local law enforcement arrives.

Carter doesn’t want to go to prison, so he whips out a gun, and when Lily walks by the scene, he grabs her as a hostage and starts running through the maze. Eventually, the duo bumps into Billy (Jason Thompson), and Chance and Cane catch up to them.

Cooler heads ultimately convince Carter to stop pointing the gun at Lily. He then quickly points the gun at Cane to kill him for the betrayal, but Chance winds up jumping in front of the gun, taking a bullet in the chest. Shortly thereafter, Chance is declared dead.

With more blood on his hands, the target on Cane’s back has only gotten bigger, with a number of people ready to get their revenge. The loved ones of Damian, Nick and Chance are all likely salivating at the mouth for the chance to get payback, but we’ll see if that lust for revenge turns deadly.

Having said all of that, and focusing back on Cane and the impact of his loss, we think fans should be gearing up for a big return to Genoa City to help send off the town's favorite cop. We believe there’s a good chance that both Nina (Tricia Cast) and Jill (Jess Walton) could show up in some capacity.

For Nina, it would be rather heartwrenching to see her in Genoa City, grieving the death of her only child. She was never a fan of him pursuing a dangerous career in law enforcement, and to know he was killed overseas trying to help someone while technically off duty will probably be devastating. Nina may also have more than a few choice words for Cane.

In terms of Jill, she’d probably be crushed to know her grandson, Phillip Chancellor Jr’s only grandson, is no longer living. She may also have a hard time accepting that a man she viewed as a son, Cane, bears some responsibility for this tragedy. Will she be able to forgive Cane, especially when she learns this whole French getaway boiled down to Cane scheming to get Chancellor?

And as captivating as it may be to think about Nina and Jill arriving in Genoa City for a possible Chance funeral, we think there’s a possibility that The Young and the Restless is gearing up for a surprise visit from Chance’s father, Phillip Chancellor III (Thom Bierdz).

It’s been a while since Phillip Chancellor III has been in town, so it would be fitting to see him arrive to mourn his son. Our only hope is that should he arrive, he stay awhile and launch a soapy plan of retribution for the loss of his child. Again, we think Cane has a whirlwind headed his way, so why not make the person behind the whirlwind be Phillip?

To be clear, as of publication, we have not heard word if Nina, Jill or Phillip is scheduled to reappear. We just think it would be nice if they did.

With the nominees for the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards officially announced, the What to Watch team is counting down to the big day on October 17, looking through the soap categories and offering our take on who should walk away victorious.

I previously offered up my reasons why I think Eileen Davidson is a shoo-in for the Outstanding Lead Actress In A Daytime Drama Series category. Her portrayal of The Young and the Restless' Ashley dealing with dissociative identity disorder and subsequently trying to piece her life back together, even as Martin (Christopher Cousins) continued to torment her family, was brilliant. And as I look to the Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Daytime Drama Series category, I again have to look to the long-running CBS soap.

Now to be clear, this year’s list of nominees all did great jobs in their respective roles. General Hospital’s Kate Mansi had quite the transformative storyline as Kristina in 2024, first losing the surrogate child she was carrying for her sister Molly (Kristen Vaganos), then going toe-to-toe with Molly as the two women argued in grief, before they both lost their big sister Sam (Kelly Monaco).

Days of Our Lives has two actresses hoping to take home a win for supporting actress in Linsey Godfrey and Emily O’Brien. Godfrey did a heck of a job as Sarah Horton, getting run over by her mother-in-law and attempting to recuperate. O’Brien stepped into the role of Theresa Donovan at the tail end of 2023, but fully embraced the part in 2024, making for quite the joy ride as she added her own unique flavor to the dramatic soap character.

Even with such formidable competition in the category, it’s the women of The Young and the Restless who I think it all boils down to. Both Susan Walters, who portrays Diane Abbott, and Courtney Hope, who plays Sally Spectra, delivered performances that were truly standouts in 2024. And it was Hope, who I believe did just enough to edge out her competition. If we’re right about her winning this category again, it would make her a winner in back-to-back years.

I recall watching the tumultuous breakup between Sally and Adam (Mark Grossman) on The Young and the Restless, and I said then that her work on screen was gold hardware-worthy. Hope perfectly struck a balance between visibly showcasing Sally’s heartbreak and fully demonstrating the character’s rage at being betrayed and lied to. Take a look at her unleashing on Adam below (I’m still applauding).

I also have to commend Hope for how she handled Sally’s mending process. Sally realized that Adam was exactly who people warned her he was, and had to wrestle with the fact that she ended things with Nick (Joshua Morrow) for the younger Newman.

Plus, she was left trying to move on from Adam, falling into the arms of Billy (Jason Thompson). While in the present, we’re well beyond the eligibility period for the 2025 Daytime Emmys, I can’t help but desire seeing more of the fierce Sally in future episodes.

Now I’d be remiss if I didn’t bring up my theory that there’s a slight possibility the supporting actress category ends in a tie. Although we think Hope will capture the trophy, she could wind up sharing it with Walters.

Walters had some stellar moments in 2024 as Diane, whether that be unleashing on Jack (Peter Bergman) for purposefully relapsing for Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) benefit, pretending to fallout with with Jack for Kyle’s (Michael Mealor) sake or having the tough conversations with Kyle as he wrestled with his past trauma, Walters’ Diane scenes were must-watch.

So, who do you think will take home this year’s supporting actress Emmy? Will it be Hope or someone else?

Like Big Brother proper, Big Brother: Unlocked will air on CBS, which means if you want to tune into the new behind-the-scenes series live on Friday evenings, you're going to need access to the channel. CBS is included with most cable packages but if you’ve cut the cord, you can also watch CBS shows live via streaming platforms like FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV and DirecTV Stream.

Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers will be able to live stream the show via the live feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service, as well as on-demand. Paramount+ Essential subscribers will not have the option to stream live but will have access to on-demand the day after the episode airs. Previous seasons of Big Brother are available to stream on Paramount Plus, and Paramount Plus subscribers will also have access to the 24/7 Live Feeds once the season begins.

When Beyond the Gates debuted back in February, there was no question in my mind that Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) was the new big bad villain of daytime.

He left his longtime wife, Dani (Karla Mosley), for the best friend of his daughter, and then strong-armed the Duprees, including Dani, to attend his wedding. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he’s constantly making sure to throw Hayley (Marquita Goings) in Dani’s face, bringing her to the country club and moving her into a home near Dani’s house. For all of that, Bill didn’t start the show off as my favorite person.

However, as he’s been “nicer” to Dani, has made strides to repair his relationships with his daughters, suffered a stroke and the emergence of Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) as the real villain of Fairmont Crest, Bill has become less problematic for me. However, you wouldn’t know that the way Ted (Keith Robinson), Martin (Brandon Claybon) and the Dupree clan have been blasting him lately.

First, Ted and the Duprees unloaded on Bill for his role in trying to make Leslie disappear and hide Ted’s affair. I thought that was a bit unfair, as they acted like Bill had the affair on Nicole (I mean, he’s definitely cheated on Dani, but this moment was not about that).

Bill was only doing a favor for Ted, his brother-in-law and friend at the time. Additionally, it may sound like an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think he was required to tell Ted’s secret to the Dupree family, so him keeping tight-lipped for decades wasn’t problematic.

Now this brings me to this whole ordeal with Martin. Years ago, when Bill stepped in to help cover up Martin’s crime, he was doing so on Vernon’s (Clifton Davis) orders. Vernon is the one who launched this whole cover-up scheme. And to his credit, we can understand him wanting to protect his grandchild from facing a potential murder trial for defending him from a racially motivated attack. However, it was also Vernon, along with Ted, who decided to keep Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) out of the loop.

Fast forward to the recent developments of the Martin saga, and all the Duprees blame Bill for Kenny’s (Jason Vendryes) demise, as if Ted pulled the trigger. Kenny was the one blackmailing Martin, and Vernon, Martin and Ted voiced their concern to Bill to handle the situation, knowing Bill had close ties with mobster Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) and he’d rely on Joey’s services to deal with Kenny.

I should also note, Bill didn’t give Joey a kill order, but stressed that Joey handle the situation. Legally, he has plausible deniability. So again, not a fan of Martin, Vernon, Ted and now Nicole blasting Bill for fixing the problems the Duprees keep bringing to his doorstep. After all, they seek him out knowing he may color outside of the lines to make things go away.

It’s also not lost on me that Bill now feels hurt by Vernon constantly viewing Bill as just some fixer or attack dog. Bill admitted he used to look at Vernon as a father figure and sought his approval. So he finds it painful to come to this unfortunate revelation.

With all that being said, I’m a firm believer that the Dupree/Richardson clan will again be in need of Bill’s services, and I can’t wait to see him decline their request for help. He should let them fend for themselves since they have such a problem with the way he does business.

It takes a special kind of person to eclipse The Young and the Restless’ Victor (Eric Braeden) as the most infuriating person in Genoa City, but it looks like this new Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) is that person. To be clear, Victor is our favorite character on the soap, but we aren’t ignorant of the fact that he has a particular talent for getting under the skin of almost everyone on the show’s canvas.

Back to Cane. Since his not-so-triumphant return to The Young and the Restless, he’s done nothing but enrage a number of guests at his French home.

Lily (Christel Khalil) is furious with him for lying about being Aristotle Dumas and blames him for Damian’s (Jermaine Rivers) death. Victor was already skeptical about Cane trying to take Chancellor before he became enraged with Cane for holding Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case) hostage in a storage room. And we’d venture to guess by the time this disastrous French trip is over, most people won’t be happy to learn that he’s been lying about their ability to leave Europe and return home sooner.

Adding to all this, when Amy (Valarie Pettiford) and Nate (Sean Dominic) learn that their respective son and brother was murdered in France, likely by Cane’s assistant Carter (Vincent Stalba), they’ll probably blame Cane for Damian’s demise. Along those lines, Holden (Nathan Owens) may be furious with his boss for the death of his bestie.

Having said all of that, we can’t help but imagine someone trying to kill Cane in revenge, or at the very least making his life incredibly miserable. We’re talking about Cane being forced to watch everything he’s accomplished in the business arena stripped from him, and maybe even having absolutely no one rallying for his cause, not even his children.

While we have a strong suspicion that either Victor, Nick or a combination of the two is likely going to try to bring Cane to his knees, we think someone else may strive to accomplish beyond that, possibly going as far as murder. If we had to guess who that person is, we think it’s either Amy or Nate.

For Amy, she just reconnected with Damian after being estranged from him for years. Their reconciliation helped push her into trying an experimental treatment to beat her deadly disease, and she was hoping for more time with her only child upon his return to Genoa City. Now that he’s dead, she won’t get to have those moments. If she feels as if she has nothing to lose, she may make it her mission to make Cane pay, maybe with his life.

Nate is an intriguing person to consider as someone who might try to kill Cane. He’s a former doctor and once pledged to do no harm, so to see him want to eliminate an enemy is a bit ironic. Although Nate is usually levelheaded, losing a brother he was just starting to bond with may cause him to snap. Especially when you add the fact that Nate is bound to learn that Audra (Zuleyka Silver) was willing to cheat on him for the sake of satisfying Victor’s scheme.

Selfishly, we kind of want to see Nate go dark and plot against Cane. As a former doctor, he’d likely be able to come up with a few different ways to murder him, but make it look like a natural medical issue.

If not Amy and not Nate, then allow us to propose the idea that the one who plots deadly revenge against Cane is Damian. Yes, Damian is allegedly dead. However, we’ve been holding onto a theory for a while now that Damian is actually alive and would at some point remerge onto the scene. Damian “haunting” Cane to drive him mad before attempting to kill him could prove rather entertaining.

Look, we know the last thing Genoa City needs is another murder mystery. However, Cane may have crossed too many people.

When it comes to Beyond the Gates’ Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant), she may be the least popular person in all of Fairmont Crest, but she certainly creates the most buzz.

After nearly killing Laura (Destiny Love) twice, blowing up Ted (Keith Robinson) and Nicole’s (Daphnée Duplaix) marriage and continually taking jabs at Nicole in the aftermath, even prompting the good doc to attack her in public, Leslie looks to be itching for her next chance at public humiliation for the Duprees. Which brings us to the reunion for Anita’s (Tamara Tunie) supergroup, The Articulates.

After failing to re-launch the group on a full-scale reunion tour, thanks to words from Vernon (Clifton Davis), Anita, Tracy (Maria Howell) and Sharon (Bonita Brisker) have at least decided to commit to a reunion concert date. Judging by the following clip, it appears the big show occurs soon. Unfortunately for the girls' group, the return to the stage may not be as triumphant thanks to Leslie.

The fact that Leslie appears to have invited herself to The Articulates’ big day spells trouble. She previously vowed to cause more problems for the Duprees, and it’s possible she’s ready to make good on her promise (we still don’t know what her gripe is with the Duprees, considering Ted and Bill are the ones who wronged her, but we digress). If we’re correct, then we have to ask, "What stunt will Leslie pull next?"

We actually can’t be sure what Leslie may be up to. However, if we were to guess, we suspect that it’s possible that between now and the concert, she learns of a deep, dark Dupree secret and threatens to expose it. Should this be the case, then we have to believe there’s a chance she finds out that Martin (Brandon Claybon) killed a man and that Vernon, Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Ted were among those to help cover up the crime.

This is dangerous information in Leslie's hands, and she certainly would weaponize it for her benefit. Given she’s not currently employed, she could leverage the secret into another payday for herself. However, if pure revenge is on the mind, then exposing it to concertgoers is certainly something Leslie would do.

So is Leslie again about to pull one over on the Dupree/Richardson clan? Well, we’ll just have to keep watching to find out.

When The Young and the Restless’ Audra (Zuleyka Silver) decided to make a deal with Victor (Eric Braeden) to destroy Kyle (Michael Mealor) and Claire’s (Hayley Erin) relationship, we had a hunch things wouldn’t go entirely to plan.

Sure, we thought there was a good possibility that Audra would be able to seduce Kyle into bed, but not without some major consequences. We felt it was nearly impossible for her to sleep with Kyle and for Nate (Sean Dominic) not to find out and be furious. Her ambitious, and unwise, alliance with Victor just seemed destined to cost her the first relationship she’s had in a while that wasn’t rooted in deceit, corporate espionage or manipulation.

Along these lines, we couldn’t rule out the real chance that in Audra’s efforts to seduce Kyle she’d genuinely start to fall for him again. Before Audra and Kyle left for France, it was Holden (Nathan Owens) who picked up on some chemistry between the two. So her rekindled feelings for Kyle would have complicated her allegiance to Victor, and The Mustache could have noticed and burned her in their arrangement.

Having said all of that, during the week of July 21, Kyle called Audra out for trying to lure him into sleeping with her to satisfy the end of her bargain with Victor. Audra, of course, denied such a thing, and even credited her kissing him as being vulnerable after Damian’s (Jermaine Rivers) murder and being caught up in the moment. But Kyle refuses to believe that she wasn’t trying to trap him.

Then, in The Young and the Restless episode airing on July 24, having been chewed out by Victor for not delivering results with their scheme, Audra meets with Kyle and raises the point that he almost cheated on Claire. She further asserts that Kyle will indeed break Claire’s heart.

Responding in kind, Kyle brags about having destroyed Audra, noting how now that her plan has failed, Victor will soon crush her, leaving her with no job and no business. Furthermore, he guesses that when the full truth is revealed about the lengths she was willing to go to in order to satisfy her ambition, she’ll have nothing and likely no one.

That’s when Audra replies with something interesting. She counters that if everything Kyle is saying is true, then that makes her even more dangerous with nothing to lose. This has us thinking Kyle may not want to brag too much for too long.

We can imagine a scenario where Audra tries to pivot her strategy once everyone is back in Genoa City. She may be able to convince Victor she has one more card to play in terms of Kyle, but refuse to tell The Mustache any particulars. Then, Audra decides to split Kyle and Claire up by going after Claire.

Audra may come to realize just how close Claire and Holden are becoming as friends, and opt to exploit that dynamic for her benefit. For example, Audra could go to Holden and try to sway him into helping her make it appear to Kyle that he and Claire have something going on behind Kyle’s back. Now to get Holden on her side, Audra may have to beg a little, considering how poorly she’s treated her old “friend,” but he may get on board with the scheme if the price is right.

And heck, perhaps Audra doesn’t even talk to Holden first, but instead sees his bond with Claire and sets them both up to make it appear that Claire cheated on Kyle, even if it’s not true. Kyle is a man with a lot of ego, so he won’t take kindly to believing he’s been cheated on.

At this juncture, this is all largely theory. However, we just don’t think anyone should count Audra out yet.

Nick gets under Ridge’s skin in The Bold and the Beautiful recap for July 23, 2025.

We begin today at Forrester Creations, where Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) is giving Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) an offer of forgiveness, but Ridge says it sounds like an “ultimatum.” She points out that he moved on with Taylor, so she should get a chance to be with Nick. She’s giving him a chance to share Naples. She also reminds him how hard it is to come to work knowing he’s with Taylor. She starts to lay into him, pointing out how he left her, when Nick (Jack Wagner) walks in and asks what he walked into.

Taylor (Rebecca Budig) asks Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) how she’s doing. They’re at Eric’s house, and Taylor wants to know if Liam has “really been cured.” When she calls it a miracle, Taylor asks for another miracle — as in Brooke not going to Naples.

Eric (John McCook) and Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) are in the office discussing a very important silk order when they get a whiff of Daphne (Murielle Hilaire). She had a great visit, but she’s glad to be back in LA.

Steffy doesn’t want Brooke on the trip, either. Taylor says Eric wants her there because she is a big part of the business. Steffy knows her mother is frustrated, but Taylor insists she’s not worried. Taylor knows that Eric would rather see Brooke back together with Ridge.

Daphne is glad to be back, and she’s glad to see Eric and Carter working together. She’s also glad that things are ok after the shootings. She’s very excited about the trip, and Eric says he’s excited about the “life-changing trip.”

Ridge, who is upset about the silk shipment, is even more frustrated to see Nick in the office. Nick knows exactly how to get under his skin. After he steps out, Brooke asks why he always provokes Ridge. When Brooke gets a call, Nick makes a call of his own. He tells the person on the line to continue holding the Forrester silk shipment.

Carter shows some of their new designs to Daphne, who asks for one of the designs for herself. He’s glad she’s there and asks about her latest fragrance. She says it’s ok to tease the press, but she adds that she’s putting together a “special package” for Eric, Brooke and Ridge to take to Italy. Carter is glad to have her back. “I miss seeing you,” he adds.

Steffy doesn’t want Taylor to be worrying about Brooke during the trip. Taylor knows Brooke is trying to manipulate the situation, especially with Nick back. Donna (Jennifer Gareis) walks in and asks if they’re talking about Nick. Donna admits that Brooke is only interested in one man.

Ridge and Eric are trying to track down the silk shipment, but Ridge is agitated about Nick’s presence. Eric becomes concerned when he hears that Nick is in the office, and he wants to know what he said. Ridge says he told Nick he shouldn’t be in Italy with them.

Nick says Italy loves Brooke, but he wants to show her the country on his terms. He wants her to see Naples like the locals, and go to Capri together. Nick says it’s one of the most stunning places in the world, and it’s a place “where anything can happen.”

Daphne wants to know why Carter missed her. She missed him, too, but she’s also surprised he said it. He says they’re friends, and a lot has happened since she left. He asks how long she’s staying. “We shall see,” she replies.

Steffy knows that Nick can charm Brooke. Donna admits that her sister can charm some men, too. Taylor asks if she thinks Nick might swoop in and “woo” Brooke, leading Steffy to ask if he’d be able to get with Brooke. Donna apologizes but has to say she knows her sister wants to be with Ridge, and she wants her to be happy.

Eric doesn’t like Nick, either, but he tells his son that he should look inside himself to figure out why Nick’s presence bothers him so much. Ridge gets a call from Will, who traced the shipment to Marone. Ridge instantly knows Nick was messing with them, and Brooke.

Nick says nothing compares to the beauty of Italy and wants to share it with her. Brooke reminds him that this is a work trip, teasing him that leading his company has changed his tactics. He says he’s still a sailor at heart, and he knows she loves the water, too. He reminds her that Italy loves her, too, and asks if she wants to be in “stiff meetings” or would she rather see the country with him. “And make a little magic.” She laughs.

Ridge says he mentioned the silk to Nick, and he lied about it. Now he’s messing with their business and costing them money. Eric says it’s more than that. First, it’s the silk, and then it will be Brooke.

Taylor points out that Ridge isn’t the only man who made Brooke happy; she shares a son with Nick. Donna doesn’t disagree, but she says everyone knows that Brooke and Ridge are meant to be together, and she believes Ridge feels the same about Brooke.

Brooke notes that Nick is flattering. Ridge walks in and asks Nick about his agenda in LA. He tells Brooke that he found the silk on one of Nick’s boats in Long Beach. When Nick makes a joke, Brooke says they need the silk. Nick calls his guy and tells him to unload the shipment. When he ends the call, Nick says it could have been settled if Ridge had asked nicely. Ridge says Nick comes into town and messes with people’s lives. When he mentions not messing with “Logan,” Nick tells him to stop calling her that, reminding Ridge that he’s marrying another woman. Brooke looks on, calculatingly.

Li and Sheila discuss Luna in The Bold and the Beautiful recap for July 22, 2025.

We begin today at Forrester Creations, where Eric (John McCook) is trying to understand how Liam’s tumor went from inoperable to being removed. Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) credits Grace and her colleague, but even Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) questions how they could do something the hospital couldn’t.

Ridge isn’t asking questions, he’s just happy it all worked out. Brooke is thrilled that the girls don’t have to say goodbye to their father. Eric says brushes with death make you reflect on how you live your life to embrace joyful things. He says the trip is still on and it’s “going to be life-changing for all of us.”

At Il Giardino, Deacon (Sean Kanan) sees his eight-toed wife and hopes she’s not working, but Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) has her foot propped on a pillow and she is, indeed, working. She can’t stay in bed anymore. Deacon loves when she’s “crazy in bed.” Sheila wants to help, but Deacon wonders if there’s another reason she’s restless. Sheila had no idea Liam was battling cancer. Li (Naomi Matsuda) walks in and says that Liam’s treatment was a miracle. Sheila isn’t happy that Luna wasn’t able to get the same result.

Eric wants Ridge and Brooke to see the promo video of “Forrester in Italy” that Will made. Ridge smiles indulgently as the video sums up some of the company’s best moments in Italy, most of which feature Ridge and Brooke together. Brooke says it brought back a lot of memories, some sad ones, too. Brooke says that she’s considering inviting Nick to Italy, but Ridge says he’s “not invited.”

Li isn’t happy about Luna either. When Deacon points out all of Luna’s crimes, adding that he’s “relieved” that they don’t have to worry about her, Li looks away uncomfortably. Sheila just looks sad.

Eric asks Ridge if he’s all right. Eric says he looks annoyed that Brooke wants Nick in Italy. Ridge calls him a “tool,” and he knows that Eric is trying to use the Nick angle to get him back with Brooke.

Brooke wraps up a call in the office. She gets a visit from Nick, who greets her with a “hello, beautiful.” He heard about Liam and he’s thrilled. But he knows she’s going to Italy with Ridge, and he wants her to remember that Ridge is marrying another woman.

Sheila and Li sit down and talk while Deacon watches from the bar. When Sheila says Luna wasn’t a monster, Deacon jumps in and says that Luna caused “all of this.” He knows they don’t want to see her vilified, but she was a monster. Li blames her upbringing, which seems to surprise Sheila a bit. She’s never seen Li defend Luna before. Li says Luna needed help from a young age, and Poppy never saw it. “Poor Luna never had a chance.”

Ridge knows Eric wants him to leave Taylor and go back to Brooke. Eric thinks he’s been clear about his feelings. Ridge wants to know if he respects Taylor, and when Eric says he loves Taylor, Ridge says Eric is trying to get him to leave her. Eric says he’d stay out of his son’s relationship if he knew he was happy. “You’re in love with Brooke,” he says. “You always have been and you always will be.” And now Nick is “circling like a shark.”

Nick says Brooke needs a man who can be decisive. He asks about their time together, and Brooke says she enjoyed it. His mom misses her, too. “You really turned my life upside down,” he tells her. He was looking for someone all those years ago, and that’s why he’s back now.

Ridge says Brooke is smart and won’t fall for Nick. Eric says she’s “vulnerable” and points out that Ridge said Brooke needed someone to watch out for her. He’s going to lose Brooke if he’s not careful. Ridge says Nick is fake and she’s not going to fall for it.

Nick reminds Brooke how he came to LA as a captain, and now he runs the company. He wants to show her the Naples he knows. He says building a boat is like “writing a love letter with your hand.” He brushes her arm as he talks about building boats. He’s building a cruiser, and he wants to take her out on the water and watch her in the sun. “I might even let you wear my captain’s hat,” he adds.

Sheila never thought she’d be sitting with Li trying to find comfort. She admits her heart is broken that Luna is gone and no one cares. Everyone is talking about Liam but not Luna. She asks if there will be a service, but Li quickly says, “It’s already done. It’s handled.” Sheila looks devastated.

Brooke walks in as Ridge ends a call. She asks if he’s ready for the trip, then she says things are different because the last time they were there, he pledged his love for her. She needs Nick there, pointing out that Taylor is always there. Ridge is fine with her moving on with her life, but just not with Nick.

Sheila wishes she knew about the arrangements. She never got to say goodbye to Luna. Li looks at her speculatively.

Nick is on the phone in the design office. He spots a photo of Brooke on the cover of a magazine, and he thinks back to their wedding when he promised never to let her go. He sighs.

Brooke reminds Ridge that Taylor has an engagement ring. He moved on with her, so why can’t Brooke be with Nick? She reminds him that they’re meant to be together. They always come back to each other, and it’s always in “magical Italy.” He looked through a keyhole and saw his Logan.

She points out that they’re too old for this, especially since it was all a misunderstanding. Surely he knows how much it was going to hurt her, but she still loves him, and she knows he loves her. She’ll forgive it all, but this is his last chance. Otherwise, she’s going to bring Nick to Italy. “Tell me that you’re going to come back to me,” she pleads.

Admittedly, it was easy for us to write off Beyond the Gates’ Dani (Karla Mosley) when she hurled accusations at Hayley (Marquita Goings) about the new Mrs. Bill Hamilton faking her pregnancy. Dani hasn’t been the most rational in the wake of her husband leaving her for their daughter’s best friend. Heck, she even pulled a gun on Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Hayley on the day of their nuptials.

In the weeks since Hayley announced she’s expecting a bundle of joy, it’s starting to appear that Dani was actually correct. In particular, Hayley has proven to be extremely cagey around the topic of an ultrasound for her unborn child. Weeks ago, she even refused to get one when she was allegedly having pregnancy complications after an argument with Dani.

Then, in the Beyond the Gates episode airing on July 22, Hayley magically appeared in front of Bill with a sonogram of their alleged baby. He was thrilled to see the progress of his child. However, later alone on the phone, she asks someone if they’re okay and need anything, before assuring the person she’ll be in touch later. Right away, we had to ask. Does Hayley have a surrogate?

If Haley is indeed hoping to pull off a pregnancy scam here, she’ll need a baby at the end of her fake pregnancy term. So her having a surrogate makes sense. Although at this juncture, we can’t quite picture how she fakes a delivery and pretends to go through all that occurs with a new mother post-delivery, but we digress.

Additionally, because this is the soap world, we can’t help but have a strong suspicion that a secret surrogacy won’t go to plan. In particular, we imagine Hayley’s could-be surrogate realizing she can get a lot more money out of Hayley and blackmailing her. Then, when Hayley tries putting her foot down, the surrogate blows Hayley’s world apart with the truth. Along those lines, can you picture the grin of satisfaction that Dani would plaster across her face, knowing she was right all along?

On a final note, if Hayley does have a surrogate, we have to then wonder about the baby’s paternity. If the child belongs to Bill, how was Hayley able to get his sauce for this special recipe without the savvy attorney knowing?

Call us suspicious, but we never bought the story The Young and the Restless’ Cane (Billy Flynn) was selling in regards to how he earned his fortune in six years.

He claimed that before Colin (Tristan Rogers) passed away, the two fixed their broken relationship and worked together to amass an empire on the back of their bitcoin investments. However, given Colin and Cane’s knack for lying and running schemes, we doubt the validity of this convenient explanation.

Fast forward to The Young and the Restless episode airing on July 23. As Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case) remain under house arrest, held hostage in Cane’s storage room, they start looking through a trunk. They find some old books and eventually spot an old family photo, but not of Cane and his brood. Nick surmises the photo looks as if it were taken in the “early 1900s,” and he spots Cane’s chateau in the pic. This leads Nick and Sharon to guess that the image is of the family that used to own the property.

Thumbing through more images, Nick and Sharon find one picture that has “De Leon Family, 1924” written on the back of it. The exes wonder if Cane’s estate was once the famous Chante de Leon winery, a company that stopped producing wine years ago, despite the fact they haven't seen any vines or grapes on the property.

They ultimately assume that it is, and perhaps Cane placed the maze over the vineyard. Although, they can’t figure out why Cane would go through the trouble of doing that. Nick and Sharon end the episode finding a bottle of champagne and trying to pick the lock to the storage room so they can escape.

We think their discoveries will ultimately prove fruitful in trying to get to the truth of how Cane became so powerful and what his true intentions are.

With all that being said, we now have a theory that Cane became a billionaire after becoming a widower. During his time away from Genoa City, he secretly got married to a descendant of the De Leon family. However, the marriage didn’t last long as his mystery wife died and left her family’s wealth and property to Cane. If this hunch is correct, we can’t say whether he married for love or a con, but either way, we wouldn’t be surprised.

Taking this hypothetical further, let’s say there are other living members of the De Leon family who aren’t happy that Cane inherited their family legacy. Could these individuals be the ones that Cane believes are trying to kill him?

Cane has been rather insistent that someone wants him dead, even assuming that Damian (Jermaine Rivers) was murdered by mistake and that he was the real target. It’s worth noting, Damian and Cane were poisoned by drinking the bottle of toxic liquor, and as a family uniquely knowledgeable of wine and the bottling process, it’s not hard to picture members of the De Leon family using poison in a beverage to harm their prey.

Again, Cane being a widower and inheriting an “ill-gotten” estate, is just a theory. However, it’s one we’ll be watching closely to see if it proves true.

If you’re a fan of daytime, then you probably already know that the good guy doesn’t always win. This is a lesson that Beyond the Gates’ Jacob (Jibre Hordges) appears not to know, as he’s proven relentless in his pursuit of exposing Detective Marcel (Darryl W. Handy) and unearthing Martin’s (Brandon Claybon) secret crime.

Now in the beginning stages of Jacob’s investigation, he at least had the support and journalism skills of Smitty (Mike Manning). Smitty, too, suspected that Marcel was a corrupt cop. However, once Smitty learned that one of Marcel’s dirty deeds while on the force was covering up Martin’s murder, Smitty backed off his pursuit and stonewalled Jacob.

Smitty may be upset with Martin for lying all of these years and letting Vernon (Clifton Davis) spearhead this cover-up, but at the end of the day, Martin is still Smitty’s husband and the father of their two children.

Jacob is not only getting pushback from Smitty now, but he’s also not finding any support for his investigation from his father, the top cop in Fairmont Crest, Chief Elon Hawthorne (Malachi Malik). Elon, of course, was an active participant in covering up Martin’s crime and knows Marcel dabbles in the grey area, so he wants his son to let this investigation go, knowing all the people it can implicate and the potential fallout.

Joining the list of Jacob’s opposition is Naomi (Arielle Prepetit). In the Beyond the Gates episode that aired on July 21, he vented his frustrations with Naomi and the possibility that Martin committed a crime, and she echoed his father’s sentiment that he should let this all go. He was taken aback by her response and accused her of wanting to do the Dupree way, but she unwavered in her commitment to her family, even noting the Duprees are Jacob’s family too.

Having said all of that, we think Jacob is not going to let this go, which means someone is bound to try and stop him. Who might this person be, you ask? Well, if our hunch proves correct, we think Elon may be compelled to sideline his son at work, either suspending him or firing him altogether.

It’s not hard to imagine Elon, in an effort to protect his son from Joey (Jon Lindstrom), prevents Jacob from using his badge officially to dig any deeper into this whole mess. The mobster would likely have no qualms about eliminating Jacob if he traced things to him, so Elon may deduce he would rather have his son alive and angry with him than dead. The question in the aftermath of such a decision would be if even that is enough to stop Jacob?

It should be noted that this is all largely based in theory, but we can’t shake the feeling that Jacob is gearing up for some trouble, warranted or not.

Over the years, The Young and the Restless’ Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) has proven he’s the one person in Genoa City you never want to cross. Coming after his family or businesses is always a mistake because he has a long memory, he is a masterful tactician and he makes getting revenge look like a highly skilled art.

With that being said, Cane (Billy Flynn) should be worried on some level. Not only has Cane been keeping Victor, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Sharon (Sharon Case) cut off from the outside world at his French estate, but thanks to Adam (Mark Grossman), Victor knows Cane is making mysterious moves in Genoa City that could impact Newman Enterprises and Chancellor.

All of this is offensive enough to The Mustache, but Cane now holding Nick and Sharon hostage in some kind of storage room while accusing Nick of murdering Damian (Jermaine Rivers) has fully infuriated Victor. Oh, and can you imagine how Victor will grow even more enraged when he learns that while Cane has been playing his games, Victoria (Amelia Heinle) and Claire (Hayley Erin) have been back home without their support system in the wake of Cole’s (J. Eddie Peck) death.

Cane better buckle in, because we can picture that sooner or later, Victor is about to make humbling Cane his number one priority, which should be good news for Jack (Peter Bergman), who has grown tired of his reignited feud with Victor. Should we be correct with our hunch, then we have to think about what Victor may wind up doing.

If we had to guess, Victor might take things to a personal level since Cane has gone after his family. This is where things could get tricky and interesting at the same time.

Cane went after Nick, but Victor probably won’t go after Cane’s twins, Mattie and Charlie, in a similar manner because of Lily (Christel Khalil) and Neil (Kristoff St. John). Neil was Victor’s best friend, and despite crossing Lily over Chancellor, Victor still respects his best friend’s daughter. So he wouldn’t want to harm Neil's grandchildren.

However, Cane has already suggested that Mattie and Charlie don’t know about his secret Aristotle Dumas identity. Even when news breaks of Cane’s secret persona, we can imagine Victor using Newman Media to help craft a negative image of Cane as a swindler and criminal, with the hopes of painting him in a bad light with the entire globe, especially Mattie and Charlie. Victor may want to do everything in his power to ensure Cane’s two children want nothing to do with him. And this again is just the twins.

As longtime viewers of The Young and the Restless know, Cane also has a younger son named Sam. Now Sam hasn’t been brought up in a while; however, to our knowledge, he’s around somewhere in the fictional soap world. Is it possible that the Newman patriarch will take a more direct approach in turning Sam against Cane, given Sam has no ties to Neil? Heck, will Victor even hope to weaponize Sam against Cane in some form or fashion?

Lastly, we can’t shake the possibility that Colin (Tristan Rogers) is very much alive and well, despite what Cane has alleged. If he is, and Victor learns of this, you better believe Victor would seek him out and drag the truth out of Colin about what he and Cane have really gotten themselves into and how they acquired their wealth.

All in all, we’re kind of excited to see Victor have another opponent on the scene to level. As much as his revived feud with Jack was fun to watch at first, that rivalry has lost its gusto as it seems to be one-sided. Jack is not interested in going toe-to-toe with Victor these days.

Unfortunately for Beyond the Gates’ Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix), she’s really been going through it lately. She found out Ted (Keith Robinson) cheated on her and fathered a child with Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant), she learned Dani (Karla Mosley) is carrying on a love affair with Andre (Sean Freeman) and now she’s been brought up to speed about the bombshell revelation that Martin (Brandon Claybon) killed a man and her family has bid hidng the information from her.

As if all of this wasn’t enough, Nicole can’t even lean on her family to get her through this rough and difficult time. Sans her daughter, nieces and grandchildren, Nicole has been lied to by her loved ones. She herself has noted that she feels everyone around her keeps her in the dark, treating her as this fragile person, incapable of handling the unfiltered truth and all that could possibly mean. The good doctor finds it all patronizing and offensive.

With all that being said, Nicole could use a listening ear and shoulder to cry on. While she has Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli), we suspect Nicole may turn to someone else for support, someone who may shock viewers.

Not too long ago, we floated the idea that Nicole would soon have a one-night stand with someone in Fairmont Crest, and that the person in question would be Dr. Carlton Fitzgerald (Robert Christopher Riley), Ted’s business partner. Carlton has made it no secret that he finds Nicole attractive, and the two hooking up is just the kind of thing that occurs in the soap world.

We should also add that we have a feeling Nicole won’t be feeling like her usually controlled self. All this chaos in her life may prompt her to do something out of character. And sleeping with her soon-to-be-ex’s business partner is certainly out of character, especially when she blasted Dani for crossing “inappropriate” boundaries.

Again, this is all a theory at this point, but we can’t shake the hunch that Nicole is about to shake things up since those around her are certainly doing that themselves.

In a moment of déjà vu, The Young and the Restless’ Jack (Peter Bergman) and Billy (Jason Thompson) once again find themselves at odds, and their differing opinion ends in a knee-jerk decision. This time, Billy severed his business relationship with his older brother at Abbott Communications, doing so without even securing another investor first.

It all goes down in The Young and the Restless episode airing on July 21. Jack and Billy pick up their conversation from the previous episode, and Billy takes exception to his big brother insinuating that he is preparing to let Jack down again.

From Jack’s perspective, he’s just frustrated that his brother is essentially going back on his word to focus on Abbott Communications, and instead, is focusing again on taking Chancellor away from Victor (Eric Braeden). Jack can’t fathom why his brother is even willing to partner with Cane (Billy Flynn) to make that happen, given Cane is currently accused of murder.

Understandably, Jack is not only worried about his brother’s obsession over Chancellor, but he’s also concerned about his investment in Abbott Communications. The two men trade a few barbs, in which Jack notes that Abbott Communications wouldn’t be able to get the doors open without his investment.

Tired of having this same conversation with Jack, Billy decides in this moment to pull the impulsive trigger and terminate his working relationship with him. He promises to return Jack’s investment and hints that Cane could be his new investor. So not only is Billy determined to get Abbott Communications up and running, but he’s also set on getting back Chancellor in some capacity.

Having said all of that, we can’t help but predict chaos and heartache in Billy’s future. Billy is putting all his eggs in this Cane basket, and Cane seems less than trustworthy. He’s currently working on a sneaky plan to get his hooks into all of the major corporations in Genoa City, and we still question the origin of his newfound fortune. Plus, as Jack pointed out, Cane is still a suspect in the murder of Damian (Jermaine Rivers).

If we had to guess, Billy will come to realize he’s ruined his chance to make Abbott Communications a big deal in Genoa City, chasing after Chancellor. Recalling his deal with Sally (Courtney Hope), if he goes all in in his pursuit of Chancellor, he’s leaving her in charge to run Abbott Communications.

We suspect he is going to jump ship for Chancellor, with the intention of leaving his girlfriend to run the company, but do so before Jack fully divests. Should that happen, we’d further go on to say that Jack doesn’t leave Sally in charge but taps Diane (Susan Walters) to be the boss instead.

Even if Cane does invest in Abbott Communications, assuming control of Jack’s stake in the company, we aren’t that confident that Cane wouldn’t double-cross Billy or that Cane would be able to be a sturdy source for the company.

Oh, and let’s not forget, Billy wants to tie his Chancellor future to Cane, who is already inching toward a partnership with Phyllis (Michelle Stafford). She’s been stabbed in the back a few times by Billy, so who’s to say that if Cane somehow acquires Chancellor from Victor, that Phyllis won’t finally return the favor and make sure he’s cut out of the business.

All in all, we just think Billy will live to regret rejecting Jack’s help for Abbott Communications and continuing on in his Chancellor obsession. If Billy manages to lose Abbott Communications and is duped when it comes to Chancellor, we can imagine him going into one of his classic downward spirals.

The powers that be have announced the nominees for the 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards, and I’m feeling a myriad of emotions. While I’m shocked that The Bold and the Beautiful has been shut out of the main soap categories and disappointed that The Young and the Restless’ Melody Thomas Scott and Colleen Zenk were both snubbed for the respective portrayals as Nikki and Jordan, I still find myself thrilled to see the list of nominees, especially when I feel as if the nomination was completely deserved.

That brings me the nominations for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress. Although I wish Scott were added to the number, every actress in the category is deserving of a nomination.

Sharon Case and Michelle Stafford were phenomenal on The Young and the Restless during the eligible nominating period, portraying Sharon and Phyllis wrestling with the death of Heather (Vail Bloom), the torment by Jordan and Ian (Ray Ward) and the then the kidnapping at the hands of Martin (Christopher Cousins).

Also from The Young and the Restless, Melissa Claire Egan did a dynamite job portraying Chelsea, a mother struggling to help her son cope with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and a girlfriend wrestling with feelings for two men at the time.

Over in the land of General Hospital, Nancy Lee Grahn and Laura Wright (who respectively play Alexis and Carly on the soap) definitely earned their applause and rave reviews. Alexis has had to deal with a lot, including the death of her daughter, Sam (Kelly Monaco), and trying to help her other daughters and grandchildren adjust to such a loss.

And Carly has had to suffer through almost losing another child, while fiercely taking on Drew (Cameron Mathison), Willow (Katelyn MacMullen) and Nina (Cynthia Watros) for the sake of her grandchildren. Plus, it’s been nice to see Carly transform into the de facto Spencer matriarch.

With all that being said though, my money for the winner of this year’s Outstanding Lead Performance in a Daytime Drama Series: Actress category is The Young and the Restless’ Eileen Davidson.

From the moment Davidson’s character Ashley kicked off her dissociative identity disorder (DID), I’ve been nothing short of impressed by the range of talent Davidson used in not only portraying Ashley, but the other personalities of her psyche as well. Right before viewers' eyes, she morphed from a confused and terrified Ashley to a wildly flirtatious Belle to a naive Ash to an assertive and ruthless Ms. Abbott. I can’t say I can recall any actress from any soap playing four different personalities.

Then I was completely riveted watching Ashley come to grips with her fragile mental health state and her having to face off with the spark of her mental torment, Martin. Not only did Ashley have to come face-to-face with him in Paris the night Alan (Christopher Cousins) died, but she also had to confront Martin in Genoa City as he pretended to be Alan and in love with Traci (Beth Maitland).

I’ve been so enamored with Ashley’s story that I’ve actually missed her in her long hiatus in France. Not for nothing, CBS still hasn’t gone into the childhood weeds as to what originally caused her DID. Martin may have prompted her different personalities to emerge, but as our psychology research and even the soap suggested, Ashley’s DID originated in childhood. What could have happened to her that viewers have yet to learn? I’m hoping that’s something that’s explored in future episodes.

As a lifelong Star Trek fan, I've been eagerly awaiting Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 after the thrilling cliffhanger at the end of season 2.

With the U.S.S. Enterprise locked in what appeared to be a no-win battle with the villainous Gorn, Captain Pike (Anson Mount) had to decide what to do with so many lives hanging in the balance.

Cliffhangers are not new to the Star Trek Universe but they're very tricky, especially as season finales and premieres, because they have to deliver a lot to fans who have been eagerly awaiting the outcome. Thankfully, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds season 3 episode 1 delivered on all fronts.

Here are the five things I loved about "Hegemony, Part II."

Teamwork makes the dream work

Captain Pike may be in charge, but he relies on the input of his crew, especially in life or death situations. Early in the episode, after determining some flexibility in Starfleet's order to leave the area and rendezvous with the fleet, Pike calls upon his crew for ideas. They only have one chance to save their friends from the Gorn but they have to move quickly. Spock (Ethan Peck) and Mitchell (Rong Fu) offer ideas but Pike ultimately goes with Una's (Rebecca Romijn) idea to disrupt the Gorn sensor array to buy some time.

Strange New Worlds isn't about any one character. Pike is the captain but he works best with his crew around him. Together, they are a formidable force that can take on anything... even the Gorn.

Scotty gets schooled

I love every scene that features Carol Kane's Pelia. Sage Pelia knows just about everything after her very, very, very long life, so it's no surprise that when Scotty (Martin Quinn) arrives on the Enterprise, it turns out she was his instructor at Starfleet Academy. Not only that, but she has stories; it turns out, he was one of her best students but he needed a little extra motivation.

In an episode fraught with tension, threat of death and tragedy, Pelia and Scotty's interactions are a welcome bit of comedy relief.

My favorite moment is when Scotty, desperate to remember how to assemble his own invention to shield the ship from the Gorn, is so distraught that he can't think. Pelia rushes in, telling him that the Gorn have arrived and time has run out. Lo and behold, the answers Scotty needs present themselves. In a flash, he's done. And when Pike walks in moments later, Scotty learns the Gorn are not there, Pelia just gave her former student the little bit of extra motivation he needed to unlock his own brilliance.

Mending fences

Chapel (Jess Bush) was so relieved to see Spock arrive on the damaged ship in the season 2 finale. There was no time for things left unsaid because Chapel was called upon to find a way to help Batel (Melanie Scrofano), who was being ripped apart from the inside out by baby Gorn using her body as an incubator and food source.

When Chapel started running out of options, Pike sent Spock to help her find a solution. Like a well-oiled machine, the duo sprang into action and worked together to save Batel's life. It wasn't easy and the chances of survival were very slim, but by doing what Chapel and Spock do best, namely, working off each other to inspire even greater moments of brilliance, they ultimately devise the only plan that doesn't, according to the computer, end with a 100% failure rate.

By the end of it, they were finally able to say what needed to be said so that they can move forward and put the past behind them. Ahh, resolution.

Confronting the past

The crewmembers trapped in the digestion pits on the Gorn ship with the Parnassus survivors also band together to escape the harrowing ordeal. Laían (Christina Chong) must face her fears and summon the courage to confront her past to save the present and her friends are there to help.

Laían has been haunted by her encounter with the Gorn as a child; it has been a recurring theme on the show since the beginning. Now she's been confronted with the prospect of not only losing her own life to the lizard baddies, but also the lives of her friends and all of the villagers whose lives are close to being extinguished.

Seeing her reach into her memories, terrifying and traumatic as it is, to draw out crucial information to save the day is nothing short of heroic.

Happy endings all around

While Star Trek is no stranger to tragedy and loss ("Khaaaaaaan!", anyone?), there are certainly those moments when the universe lines up just right so that everyone lives happily ever after. Well, at least for now.

"Hegemony, Part II" had several moments when things could have taken a much darker turn. But through teamwork and perseverance, the crew of the Enterprise pulled off a victory on all fronts. The Gorn are gone (for now), the Parnassus residents were saved, the crew is safe and Pike's beloved Batel survives her ordeal as a Gorn baby incubator.

Happy endings aren't a prerequisite for a good episode, or even a good season premiere, but they are important in setting the tone for what's coming up. Knowing that things ended well is the perfect way to transition into the new season before the drama starts to ramp up anew.

The cat is finally out of the bag on Beyond the Gates, and viewers now know that Martin’s (Brandon Claybon) big secret is that he severely beat Kenneth (Jason Vendryes) and killed another man in self-defense of himself and Vernon (Clifton Davis).

Unfortunately, back then, Vernon decided to cover up the whole ordeal with the help of members of the Fairmont Crest police department, Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) and Joey (Jon Lindstrom). Obviously, that cover-up didn’t work well, since Kenneth later reemerged to extort Martin before Joey ultimately killed Kenneth.

Not only do viewers know what happened finally, but so do Smitty (Mike Manning), Samantha (Najah Jackson) and Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller). Although they now know what’s been haunting Martin, and Kenneth is allegedly dead thanks to Joey, you’d think the Dupree/Richardson clan would be able to put this all behind them. However, we know better. This is the soap world after all.

With Jacob (Jibre Hordges) still determined to nail Detective Marcel Malone (Darryl W. Handy) for his corrupt time on the force, that unfortunately can lead Jacob straight to his cover-up job for Vernon and Martin. If he learns the truth, we aren’t sure if the strait-laced cop will keep things under wraps.

But what if another wrinkle appears in Martin and Vernon’s scheme? For example, what if someone else learns of this secret and uses it to their advantage?

We think it’s entirely possible that someone like Hayley (Marquita Goings) overhears her husband talking about what he did for Martin and Vernon, and she uses the information to blackmail the Duprees into making sure she’s finally welcomed into the fabric of the Fairmont Crest community. Although it would be quite despicable on her part, she’s desperate for acceptance, and the Dupree clan is desperate to remain out of prison.

Taking things further, what if Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) somehow learns of the secret? The woman is a heat-seeking missile when it comes to the Richardsons, and she would no doubt use the information to unleash another round of chaos. Heck, she could use this tidbit to pressure Kat (Colby Muhammad) to back off her quest to put Leslie in prison. Leslie could also use the info to manipulate Ted (Keith Robinson) into reuniting with her.

We can’t say for sure what’s next in this Martin saga, but we’re almost positive that it’s far from being over.

In The Young and the Restless realm, Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) has garnered a reputation for being ruthless, manipulative and a bit self-serving. So as determined as she was to be her own boss in Genoa City with her new cosmetics company Vibrante, we never doubted that she would be successful in seducing Kyle (Michael Mealor) to secure the business and funding from Victor (Eric Braeden). However, what we did doubt is whether everything would go to plan in her Kyle plot.

Fast forward to The Young and the Restless episode airing on July 18, and news of Damian’s (Jermaine Rivers) murder continues to make its rounds among Cane’s (Billy Flynn) party guests. After hearing the crushing update, a very upset Audra rushes to Kyle’s train car for comfort, and he happens to be in nothing but a towel.

Not once opting to put some clothes on, Kyle listens as Audra shares all the sordid details of what the guests know so far about the homicide. Additionally, she becomes engulfed with emotions thinking about how heartbreaking this news will be for Amy (Valarie Pettiford) and Nate (Sean Dominic) to learn.

For Amy, Damian was her only son, and for Nate, he was just getting to know his long-lost brother (we still both Amy and Nate will have more time to bond with Damian because we aren’t convinced he’s dead, but we digress for now).

As Audra and Kyle continue to talk, she expresses her concern that they may be doing business with a murderer, as she suspects Cane is the guilty party here. Kyle claims they don’t know that to be the truth at this juncture. She then responds by noting she feels safe in the moment with Kyle, and that's all it takes for the duo to exchange some longing looks and share a passionate kiss.

That’s where the episode ends for them, so we can’t say yet if the two will stop themselves or go ahead and hit the hay. Again, Kyle is only in a towel. But whether Kyle and Audra go all the way or don’t, they’ve now cheated on Claire (Hayley Erin) and Nate, respectively. This was essentially what Victor wanted as part of his alliance with Audra, thinking Kyle’s infidelity would end his relationship with Claire and send Kyle packing out of Genoa City.

However, with that being said, Victor only gets to run his victory lap in this scenario if Audra tells him about what happened. We aren’t sure she’ll be willing to do that.

Let’s think about this. The murder of Damian changes things dramatically. Audra is close to Amy and Nate, and would she really want to add this layer of scheming to their grieving process? By telling on Kyle and their infidelity, she’s telling on herself. She may not want Nate to have to deal with losing a brother and have to process the fact that she cheated on him for her career (although she clearly has feelings for Kyle as well).

Plus, when Audra learns that Cole (J. Eddie Peck) died, she may not want to dump this cheating scandal on Claire’s plate. Audra isn’t a friend of Claire, but she is human and may want Claire to be able to grieve in peace and have the support of Kyle.

All in all, we just think Audra may opt to keep her mouth shut for the time being. That, of course, puts her in quite the predicament with Victor, but with someone trying to pin Cane’s murder on Nick (Joshua Morrow), the Newman patriarch may find himself rather distracted. But since we are talking about the soap world here, the secret will spill out sooner or later.

Buckle up FBI fans, as FBI season 8 sees your favorite agents back in action, but on a brand-new night.

Not only this, but fans of the Dick Wolf drama will also see the procedural series paired with a crop of other shows, as FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International are no longer part of CBS' primetime lineup. Curious to know what else you can expect with FBI season 8? Here's everything we know.

FBI season 8 release date

FBI debuts its brand-new season on Monday, October 13 at 9 pm ET/PT on CBS. This is a change from the drama's previous Tuesday night timeslot. Additionally, leading in the show are The Neighborhood season 8 and DMV season 1, while the series is followed up by Watson season 2.

For those without traditional cable/satellite television, CBS is available through a number of live TV streaming services, including Fubo, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV. Paramount Plus Premium subscribers and subscribers to the CBS app also have the opportunity to watch episodes live as they air. Additionally, in the US, you can watch episodes on demand via Paramount Plus the day after they air on TV.

In the UK, while we don't have a release date for season 8, we anticipate new episodes will join previous episodes on Sky and Now at some point.

FBI season 8 will look a little different as Katherine Renee Kane won't be returning as a series regular as Agent Tiffany Wallace. Additionally, what's Law & Order: SVU's loss is FBI's gain, as Juliana Aidén Martinez makes her season 8 debut as a series regular.

It's too early for a trailer for the forthcoming episodes. We expect a preview clip to be released closer to the start of the fall TV season.

When Beyond the Gates first debuted, we collectively found ourselves saying, "Poor Dani." The youngest Dupree daughter had a rough go of it, dealing with the loss of a cheating husband who married her daughter’s best friend. Furthermore, Dani (Karla Mosley) was forced to watch the newlyweds on a daily basis as they moved into a nearby home and were popping up at all her usual spots in Fairmont Crest.

However, in the months since the premiere, it’s become clear that we should be saying, "Poor Nicole." Not only was Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) publicly humiliated at her anniversary party when Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) revealed to the public that she had an affair with Ted (Keith Robinson), producing Eva (Ambyr Michelle), but in the aftermath, Nicole has had to endure Leslie’s continued shady remarks.

In addition to her troubled marriage, Nicole also hit a snag with Dani. Once Dani told her sister about her “relationship” with Andre (Sean Freeman), Nicole became furious. While the good doc wasn’t pleased to hear her nephew by marriage has been sleeping with her sister, we’d argue that Nicole was more upset that another secret was hidden from her.

That brings us to the whole Martin (Brandon Claybon) situation. Now that viewers know Martin killed a man while defending himself and Vernon (Clifton Davis), and Vernon worked with members of the Fairmont Crest police, Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett), Joey (Jon Lindstrom) and even Ted and Anita (Tamara Tunie) to cover this up, we suspect that Nicole is going to be livid when she finally learns the truth.

While Nicole knows her son has been having nightmares, she’s been in the dark about what they’re about. More importantly, she has no idea her son killed a man, and everyone has been keeping this hidden from her for years.

This secret may be the straw that breaks the metaphorical camel’s back. We can picture Nicole unleashing in rage on several people in her family. She already showed cracks in her composure when she lunged at Leslie at the diner. While we can’t picture her getting violent with her husband, parents or son, we can imagine her giving them each an earful. Ted, in particular, may be a target of her rage, given this is another thing he’s lied about in their marriage.

Are viewers ready for Nicole to let loose on those closest to her? Given the circumstances, we wouldn’t mind seeing this.

And just like that on The Young and the Restless, suspicion for Damian’s (Jermaine Rivers) murder is starting to shift a bit toward Nick (Joshua Morrow).

Despite Cane (Billy Flynn) being the only one spotted with Damian’s dead body and Cane having a pretty solid motive for wanting Damian dead, in the episode airing on July 16, Nick was stunned to find the murder weapon in his sleeping car on the train.

As the episode picked up on July 17, Nick informed Chance (Conner Floyd) of the planted piece of evidence and pointed the finger at Cane for being behind the shady move. Even as Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), who was standing nearby, and Chance doubted that Cane went through the trouble of setting up Nick, the Newman heir was convinced that Cane or Cane’s assistant, Carter (Vincent Stalba), is trying to frame him for a homicide. Furthermore, Nick points to all the secrecy behind Cane and Aristotle Dumas as proof that Cane may not be this innocent bystander.

When Nick later passes along updates about all that’s happened to Victor (Eric Braeden) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), the patriarch and matriarch of the Newman clan are stunned. Interestingly enough, though, Victor agrees Nick is being set up but doubts Cane is behind it. The Mustache can’t buy that a man who was so careful to craft a new identity and plot against Genoa City power players in the last six years would be so reckless as to commit murder. Nick, however, maintains his theory, and carrying the momentum of outrage with him, he runs into Cane.

Nick and Cane do a lot of posturing and hurl accusations at each other. But it’s Nick’s words that stood out to us most. He informed Cane, "I don’t know what game you’re playing, but trust me, you will lose. You came after the wrong guy and family. But from now on, you come at me man to man, you hear me?"

As if those words from Nick weren’t ominous already, he finishes off his rant telling Cane, "But trust me, you’re gonna wish you were the one who was dead."

With all that being said, we once speculated that although Victor continues to show he’s as cunning as ever, that one of his children would start to really emerge as his true successor in ruthlessness and chaos. While we suggested there was a good chance this person could be Adam (Mark Grossman), we ultimately settled on Victoria (Amelia Heinle). We suspected that in the wake of Cole’s (J. Eddie Peck) death, something would unlock inside of her that made it clear who her father is.

Now we bypassed Nick in the discussion, largely because he’s traditionally spent his time in Genoa City being the “good guy,” trying to do whatever he could to prove he was a more upstanding guy than his father.

Plus, Nick has a hot temper, which doesn’t necessarily bode well if you’re trying to be a masterful tactician like the Newman Enterprises founder. However, is Nick about to prove us wrong? Is he about to show everyone, especially Cane, that a "new Victor" is waiting in the wings?

We have to say, Nick’s final words for Cane in the episode from July 17 certainly sent chills down our spines, as they could have come out of Victor’s mouth years ago in his feuding with Jack (Peter Bergman), Ian (Ray Wise), Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and the list goes on. Additionally, with Victor and Nick closer than ever these days, it’s not hard to imagine Victor providing some close guidance to his son to help him keep his temper in check and to methodically think through a mental game of chess with Cane.

On a final note, we have a hunch that both Nick and Cane will find themselves cleared of murder charges eventually, and that their real showdown could be in Genoa City as they take their battle to the corporate world.

Finally, on the Beyond the Gates episode on July 16, Martin (Brandon Claybon) shared with Smitty (Mike Manning) his deeply held secret. The very one that has been plaguing the congressman since the new soap premiered.

In the episode, after Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) revealed to Martin and Vernon (Clifton Davis) that Kenneth (Jason Vendryes) was officially handled (as in dead), Martin went home to an angry Smitty, who was ready to put Martin out of the house. However, Martin eventually was able to get Smitty to hear him out about what’s been going on with him, and that’s when the truth spilled from Martin’s lips.

As the story goes, one evening, Martin and Vernon were traveling home from a political event when they somehow got lost. Not only that, but their vehicle got a flat tire. Stranded on the side of the country road at night, Martin and Vernon were then approached by a truck driven by Kenneth and his friend. Kenneth and his bestie wasted no time leveling unnecessary threats and insults against the Dupree/Richardson men.

After Vernon threatened to call the cops, things escalated when Kenneth and company took to action, prompting Martin to wield a tire iron to defend himself and his grandfather. Martin beat Kenneth unconscious. When the other man lunged to attack Vernon, Martin wound up beating him to death.

In the immediate aftermath, Vernon called Chief Hawthorne (Malachi Malik) and Detective Malone (Darryl W. Handy) to fix this mess, and that snowballed into Bill and Joey (Jon Lindstrom) becoming involved. Kenneth was eventually paid handsomely and given plastic surgery, which is why it took Martin a while to recognize Kenneth while he was waiting tables at the country club.

Hearing the story, Smitty appeared to initially be understanding, but then became upset, realizing how many people knew about the original incident, and learning that Kenneth is now dead. Plus, Smitty was furious that Martin knew Kenneth resurfaced in town for a few weeks, but remained tight-lipped about it, putting their children in danger.

With all this being said, we fear this nightmare is far from over for Martin. For starters, Jacob (Jibre Hordges) is still investigating Detective Malone’s corruption, and unfortunately, Malone’s path is intertwined with the Duprees. So there’s a chance Jacob learns the truth, and given his unwavering commitment to justice, that may spell bad news for Martin. Even if Jacob’s investigative partner Smitty tries to distract Jacob from further investigating the detective for the sake of his family, Jacob is like a dog with a bone when it comes to Malone.

We also can’t ignore the fact that even if Smitty doesn’t want Martin to go to prison (at least for the sake of the kids), Smitty may not be ready to continue on in "happy bliss" with Martin. Understandably, Smitty is angry about being lied to for all these years, especially about something of this magnitude. If the couple is going to make it, then they have some extensive therapy in their future.

On a final note, Martin himself is still feeling tormented by what he’s done. The man was preparing himself to confess his deeds in a press conference before being stopped by Vernon. Can Martin keep his mouth shut and keep this under wraps? Maybe not.

Boy, we can’t wait for Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) to learn this sordid secret. If you thought she was mad at Dani (Karla Mosley) about Andre (Sean Freeman), we imagine she’ll explode about this news involving her son.

Now that The Young and the Restless has officially kicked off its French murder mystery, with all the Genoa City power players staying at Cane’s (Billy Flynn) estate seen as viable suspects for the death of Damian (Jermaine Rivers), we can’t help but wonder how this twisted storyline will end.

We’ll admit, we still are holding our reservations about whether Damian is actually dead, or if his death has been faked and he’s being held captive somewhere. But, until his survival news is made official, we’re left to follow along with this murder investigation being spearheaded by Chance (Conner Floyd), who admits not to having jurisdiction outside of Genoa City.

Naturally, all eyes of suspicion are being cast upon Cane as the crazed killer. Although viewers know a mystery person came along and stabbed Damian, the other guests never saw this mystery person for themselves.

Plus, we have a theory that Damian’s plight was orchestrated by Cane. Even if Cane didn’t commit the deadly acts, we can’t shake the feeling that he’s pulling the strings here with his assistant, Carter (Vincent Stalba), acting as his perfect little minion.

However, as seen in The Young and the Restless episode airing on July 16, blame for Damian’s murder starts to shift to Nick (Joshua Morrow), and for good reason. He locates the murder weapon in his sleeping car on the train and tells Chance that someone is trying to set him up.

It doesn’t take a genius to realize that Nick had no motive to kill Damian. Unfortunately for the Newman heir, we have a hunch that whoever is trying to frame him will make it appear that he really was trying to kill Cane, but made an error. Although we can’t say Nick is no murderer, we can say the times he’s had blood on his hands have always been in the defense of loved ones. Even with Cane going after Chancellor, it's doubtful Nick saw him as a physical threat to his family.

With all that being said, we have a hunch that when the dust settles (and if Damian really is dead), the true murderer will be revealed as Carter. Whether he did it on Cane’s orders or on his own volition to impress Cane, we believe both Nate (Sean Dominic) and Holden (Nathan Owens) are going to have a big issue with Cane.

Nate may have only recently learned that Damian was his brother, but the two were building a bond and grew fond of each other. Heck, Damian even cautioned Audra (Zuleyka Silver) about him keeping an eye on her on Nate’s behalf after noticing her antics with Kyle (Michael Mealor). And as far as Holden, he and Damian may have fallen out in recent weeks, but they were once best friends.

Should Nate and Holden both find themselves devastated by Damian’s death and blame Cane, which we suspect, we believe there’s a chance they’ll put their differences aside to go after Cane. With Holden having a unique position working for Cane at the moment, that could make things a lot easier in enacting a revenge plot.

After this whole Aristotle Dumas charade and now the murder, it’s likely that Cane finds himself facing more enemies than even Victor (Eric Braeden). Especially, when Victor, Jack (Peter Bergman), Devon (Bryton James) and Lily (Christel Khalil) learn Cane’s making moves against their respective companies. Will Cane soon learn that it’s literally him against the world (minus maybe Phyllis [Michelle Stafford])? Heck, will he find himself the target of a murder plot? Cane better tread lightly.

They say secrets in a marriage can destroy it, and Beyond the Gates’ Martin (Brandon Claybon) and Smitty (Mike Manning) are certainly putting this theory to the test.

With Martin keeping Smitty in the dark about what he did in his past and what he’s currently doing to keep it under wraps, and with Smitty pretty tight-lipped about his investigation into Marcel (Darryl W. Handy), the married duo certainly have their skeletons in their own closets.

However, because this is the soap world, their secrets are on a collision course about to be exposed, and this is in large part due to Kenneth (Jason Vendryes). Kenneth is currently making Martin’s life miserable, stalking the kids he shares with Smitty. With Kenneth presenting himself as a threat to the teens, we suspect all the sordid truth about Martin will come out sooner or later, and that could spell bad news for Kenneth.

We recently speculated that Beyond the Gates would experience its first murder, and we wouldn’t be surprised if the victim is Kenneth and the culprits are Martin and Smitty. Not for nothing, in the several months that Beyond the Gates has been on the air, the two men have made it clear that they love their children and are protective of them. Now that Kenneth has crossed the line of approaching Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller) and Samantha (Najah Jackson), Martin and Smitty may go to great lengths to prevent that from happening again.

It’s not hard to imagine the Richardson couple finding Kenneth and sternly warning Kenneth to stay away from them and their children. In response, Kenneth levies more threats and demands more money. However, Martin’s temper could get the better of him (as it has before), and a fight ensues. Then one thing leads to another, and either Martin or Smitty kills Kenneth by mistake, and the couple finds themselves in quite the pickle.

If our hunch proves correct, then we believe the couple may find themselves scrambling to cover up yet another secret. While we don’t think they’ll cover up Kenneth’s death by disposing of his body, we can imagine them not telling Jacob (Jibre Hordges) and the rest of the Fairmont Crest police department the whole truth, claiming self-defense. Heck, we can’t even picture Martin and Smitty telling the rest of the Dupree/Richardson clan the truth.

Again, this is all a working theory we’ve developed at the moment, so we’ll just have to keep watching to see what happens.

Just like that, another character from The Young and the Restless was allegedly murdered. In the episode airing on July 14, Damian (Jermaine Rivers) was not only poisoned, but he was also stabbed.

When the episode picks up on July 15, Cane (Billy Flynn) insists to Phyllis (Michelle Stafford) that Damian is dead and there is no sense in trying to get him medical attention. Additionally, Cane takes Chance (Conner Floyd) to see the dead body and asks the Genoa City cop to lead a murder investigation in France to determine who the murderer is (again, not sure how Chance has jurisdiction to do anything official in Europe, but we digress). Furthermore, Cane’s assistant, Carter (Vincent Stalba), and another one of Cane’s staffers move Damian’s body with a sheet over it.

Placing the metaphorical nail in this Damian coffin is the fact that Rivers himself took to X (formerly Twitter) to confirm the character was indeed gone.

Even with all of that being said, we still believe there’s a chance that Damian isn’t dead and will be back at some point. First, there’s something about the way in which this murder went down that doesn’t sit right with us.

It started out as a one-on-one conversation between Damian and Cane over a bottle of liquor. Damian outpaced Cane in drinking from his glass and immediately fell ill due to a poison. Cane claimed to be fine initially, but began feeling ill right before Damian got worse and was eventually stabbed by some mystery person. Then, again in the episode on July 15, after Cane walks away to grab Chance and bring him to the scene of the crime, the bottle containing the poison disappears, along with the murder weapon.

Also, Cane is insistent that Chance not bring local authorities to help with the investigation and doesn’t want the coroner called, but would rather like Damian’s body stashed in a freezer on the property.

Our theory here is that Cane orchestrated this whole ordeal with Carter’s help in a big scheme to win back Lily (Christel Khalil). Cane desperately wants to reunite with his ex, and Damian stood in the way of that. Since we don’t believe he’s a cold-blooded murderer, we think it’s possible he faked Damian’s death with Carter’s help, and will actually wind up hiding Damian somewhere, keeping him prisoner.

Let’s also not forget that Cane drank the poisoned drink suspiciously slow, as if he knew it was deadly and knew how much to digest to give the appearance of him being sick. Therefore, also making him a "victim" in this scenario.

On another note, going back to Rivers’ statement. If you watch the clip, you’ll notice he says, “Yeah, that's what it is, at least for now." To us, that sounds like he’s leaving room for the possibility that he’s not done portraying Damian, but rather just done for the time being.

Lastly, from a storyline perspective, Damian dying prematurely stunts the storylines with Nate (Sean Dominic) and Lily, in our opinion. It would be nice to see Damian’s relationship with his newly-found brother continue to develop and his romance with Lily continue to blossom.

So will Damian make a soapy return from the dead soon? Heck, we certainly hope so.

When it comes to Beyond the Gates’ Fairmont Crest, the town is becoming a powder keg of drama.

Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) and Doug (Jason Graham) are up to their eyeballs in corruption with dangerous mafioso, Joey (Jon Lindstrom). Martin’s (Brandon Claybon) deep, dark secret is about to finally spill out, thanks to everyone’s favorite country club waiter, Kenneth (Jason Vendryes). Oh, and we can’t forget that Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) may have found a stalker in Allison (Brianna Roberts), and Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) is trying her hardest to stay out of prison for the attempted murder of Laura (Destiny Love).

Any one of these situations has the potential to cause quite the boom if the right match is lit, and given this is the soap world, we are anticipating an explosive showdown sooner rather than later. Additionally, we suspect that means a murder might be in the very near future.

Now to be clear, the powers that be at Beyond the Gates have not stated that a murder is happening. However, this is more of our hunch. All the other power players in American daytime soaps have homicides baked into the fabric of their shows, so we think it’s about time Beyond the Gates joins the number.

If we had to guess who may meet their end, we think the most likely person to die is Kenneth. Right now, he has a lot of people who want him gone, and yet, he continues to provoke and blackmail Martin and his accomplices. Him dying could set up your classic whodunnit murder mystery, while also leaving a big mess for the Duprees to try and dig their way out of in terms of public perception.

If not Kenneth, then we have to consider the corrupt officer, Detective Marcel Malone (Darryl W. Handy). He’s been a key piece in trying to cover up this whole Martin debacle and he’s also closely intertwined in Joey’s shady dealings. Either one of these offenses could lead to his death.

For him, we can imagine a scenario in which Smitty (Mike Manning) and Jacob (Jibre Hordges) continue trying to get to the bottom of Marcel’s corruption, and that prompts him to take action to stop them. Then, in an attempt to kill either Smitty or Jacob, things go terribly wrong for Marcel, and he’s shot in self-defense.

Our final guess on a possible future murder victim is Chelsea’s scorned ex. Allison keeps popping up on Chelsea whenever the model/fashion is out and about, particularly when Chelsea is out with Madison (Kenjah). We won’t call Allison a dangerous stalker yet, but it’s easy to picture things headed that way. And that could spell out a life-or-death situation for Chelsea and her new beau that ends with Allison dead.

As the bulk of The Young and the Restless’ power players continue on in Cane’s (Billy Flynn) twisted French scheme, things take a twisted turn in The Young and the Restless episode airing on July 14.

It's been rumored for a while now that a "murder mystery" was going to kick off in France, and that's exactly what happens when Damian (Jermaine Rivers) winds up poisoned and stabbed. Although to be clear, Damian was not declared dead by the end of the episode.

We tend to think Damian won't be killed off the show. Though Amy (Valarie Pettiford) had an ominous feeling about Damian leaving Genoa City to go to France weeks ago, he’s not been on The Young and the Restless for even a year. His dying prematurely stunts his storylines with Nate (Sean Dominic) and Lily (Christel Khalil), but that's just our opinion. Damian's fate could very well be sealed.

Anyway, back to Damian's current predicament. At the top of the episode, Lily and Damian run into Cane and Amanda (Mishael Morgan), and Lily brags that she and Damian are an item. Cane is clearly bothered by the news, but wishes Lily the best. He then turns his attention to Damian and requests to speak in private.

During their one-on-one conversation, they talk over an expensive bottle of liquor. Damian outpaces Cane in downing his glass, which proves to be to his detriment. The new Winters employee starts to feel lightheaded and ill, prompting him to immediately accuse Cane of poisoning him.

Cane refutes the accusation, claiming they're both drinking the same liquor, and he's fine. However, the tide eventually turns against Cane, and he too gets sick. Despite being lightheaded himself, he stands Damian up to get him help, not noticing someone watching them from a distance.

As both men are up, that's when the mystery person walks by them and stabs Damian in the back. Cane is shocked by the scene and holds Damian as he collapses to the ground, while the culprit gets away. The duo is later stumbled upon by Phyllis (Michelle Stafford).

With all that being said, that brings us to the big question. Who tried to kill Damian? If we had to guess, it's Carter (Vincent Stalba), Cane’s assistant.

Our theory here is that Cane orchestrated this whole ordeal to win Lily back. Cane desperately wants to reunite with his ex, but she's falling for Damian. If Damian is out of the way, that clears a path for Cane.

Outside of the motive, we should also call attention to the fact that Cane showed noticeable restraint in drinking the liquor with Damian. Is it because Cane was aware that it was poisoned and knew how much to drink to only get slightly ill? After all, Cane being sick helps build the case that he too is a victim in this matter and incapable of being a suspect.

Lastly, let's not forget Cane is loaded. It's easy to imagine Cane paid Carter to do his villainous bidding, and with the deed being done, sets Carter up in the life of luxury in some remote part of the world.

We'll just have to wait and see what Chance (Conner Floyd) manages to unearth in his investigation, as he apparently has jurisdiction to perform law enforcement duties in Europe.

When Beyond the Gates’ Anitia (Tamara Tunie) revealed the deep, dark secret about how she and her Articulettes bandmates “stole” the group from a hidden fourth member, we found ourselves left with a hint of suspicion. While we had a hunch that the Dupree matriarch had a secret she was keeping from her family, we didn’t think this reveal was it. We felt something juicier was out there.

Shortly after the series premiered, we developed a theory that, like many soap matriarchs before her, Anita had a secret romance before her marriage that led to a baby being conceived and born. We didn’t know if the baby was a grown adult and was someone not yet seen on the Beyond the Gates canvas or if Nicole’s (Daphnée Duplaix) paternity should be called into question, but we just had a gut feeling something was afoot.

We should also mention the name Dante. In her quest to reunite with The Articulettes, viewers learned that Dante was the group’s manager, and his influence on Anita helped lead to the group’s ultimate demise. We thought then that perhaps something romantic occurred between Dante and Anita, but that was never mentioned. However, did the two have a romance? Did that lead to a secret lovechild?

With all that being said, more drama has been teased for this Articulettes’ reunion. Could some of the drama that’s been teased stem back to old issues surrounding Dante and Anita’s past relationship?

Now we’d be remiss if we didn’t bring up the possibility that perhaps the new Articulettes drama has less to do with Anita and more to do with Vernon (Clifton Davis).

It hasn’t been lost on us that when fellow Articulettes Sharon (Bonita Brisker) and Tracy (Maria Howell) blew into Fairmont Crest, they had some shady remarks and negative energy for Anita, but not for Vernon. So we think it’s entirely possible that Sharon or Tracy had a secret romance with Vernon back in the day, but Anita has no idea. Could Anita be on the precipice of learning this bombshell news?

To be clear, we don’t know for sure if there are more secrets to be revealed about Anita or Vernon because of the Articulettes. But what we do know is that Anita is not going to be pleased to hear that Vernon is trying to handle this Martin (Brandon Claybon) situation without letting her know.

From the moment The Young and the Restless’ Holden (Nathan Owens) stepped foot on the show’s canvas, he’s proven to be charming, has a way with words to get under some people’s skin and he’s quite sneaky.

Case in point, he’s managed to charm his way into a friendship with Claire (Hayley Erin) while ruffling the feathers of both Nate (Sean Hastings) and Lily (Christel Khalil) by pretending to be Damian (Jermaine Rivers) and then making subsequent snide remarks. But let’s zero in on his dynamic with Claire.

In The Young and the Restless episode from July 1, Cane (Billy Flynn) met with Holden at Crimson Lights and tasked him with getting close to Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan), Adam (Mark Grossman), Mariah (Camryn Grimes) and Claire. Holden seemed more than ready to accept the challenge with Chelsea, Adam and Mariah, and he noted he was already friends with Claire. Cane didn’t really explain the rationale behind his assignment, but it was clear he has some future nefarious intentions for his “targets.”

Fast forward to The Young and the Restless episode airing on July 11, and two important things happen that spell trouble for Claire. First, Holden finds Claire alone at Crimson Lights, and she shares with him that Cole (J. Eddie Peck) died. Holden is quick to offer his condolences and confesses that he has experience grieving a father, as his own dad died of cancer. Wanting to offer Claire some comfort, he suggests they get breakfast, and she hesitantly agrees to go with him to Society.

Their breakfast outing doesn’t exactly go as planned, because when they arrive at Society, they run into Chelsea and Adam. The reconciled couple is onto Holden being Cane’s handler and spy in Genoa City, and subtly grill him, but don’t make it a complete interrogation. Heck, Adam even teases the possibility of hiring Holden at Newman Media to help cover his inquisitive tracks.

Once Adam and Chelsea return to their table, Claire realizes she’s not in the mood for breakfast, and she and Holden talk about how she misses Kyle (Michael Mealor), who is off with Audra (Zuleyka Silver) in France. That leads us to the second important thing that spells trouble for Claire.

In France, Audra and Kyle pitch their perfume competition to Cane. He initially is not interested in the idea, but notices their “chemistry.” Because of their “flirtatious” banter between each other, Cane agrees to delay his public reveal that he’s Aristotle Dumas until Audra and Kyle’s perfume battle plays out. The duo celebrates the good news over drinks in Audra’s train car.

With all that being said, we have a strong hunch that Cane is going to utilize what he saw between Audra and Kyle for his benefit. Cane already has cameras all over his French estate, so we suspect he’ll soon pay extra attention to the footage of Audra and Kyle. Audra is already trying to tempt Kyle to give in and cheat on Clarie, and since we think she’ll prove successful, it’s not hard to picture Cane capturing the moment.

Then once he has the footage, we believe he’ll probably make sure to get the images to Claire “anonymously." Cane would do this all with the purpose of making sure to send Claire running into Holden’s arms for comfort.

With Mariah and Tessa (Cait Fairbanks) dealing with their own drama, Holden has proven to be Claire’s only friend in town. If Claire leans on his shoulder to vent about Kyle, would things then take a romantic turn? We don’t see why not, as Claire and Holden shared a meet-cute moment months ago, and we’ve actually been waiting for that dynamic to be explored.

On a final note, if our theory is true, Holden may want to be careful. Claire is nice and sweet now, but we can’t forget Jordan’s (Colleen Zenk) parting words that there is some of the deranged villain inside of Claire Newman.

In original US drama series, Dexter, which ran from 2006 to 2013, the master of concealment (played by Michael C. Hall) channelled his murderous urges – directed by an inner voice he calls his ‘dark passenger’ – into a ‘code’ created by his adoptive dad, cop Harry (James Remar).

Working as a blood-splatter expert with Miami Metro Police, the vigilante targeted those who’d escaped justice, taking out the trash and cleaning up his crime scenes.

Almost unmasked as the infamous ‘Bay Harbor Butcher’ once, Dexter faked his own death in the series eight finale, as his past threatened to catch up with him again.

Tracked down by his teenage son Harrison (Jack Alcott) and former colleague Angel Batista (David Zayas) in 2021’s Dexter: New Blood, the anti-hero was left for dead after being shot by his lad, who has a ‘dark passenger’ of his own.

In the opening scene of last year’s prequel to the franchise, Dexter: Original Sin, fans saw how Dexter had survived. Now in new series, Dexter: Resurrection – a sequel to New Blood – we join him 10 weeks later as he wakes from his coma while, in New York, Harrison is in trouble.

It should go without saying that there’s no love lost between Beyond the Gates’ Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) and Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant).

Not only did Leslie sleep with Nicole’s husband and produce a child in Eva (Ambyr Michelle), but the new soap villain also made a point of revealing this information in the most public way possible at Nicole and Ted’s (Keith Robinson) anniversary party.

Adding insult to injury, Leslie has remained in Fairmont Crest to be a thorn in Nicole’s side, often taunting the good doc about her former fling with Ted. Leslie popping up all around town serves as a constant reminder of Ted’s infidelity, making it even more difficult for Nicole to entertain the possibility of forgiving her husband and reconciling (for now, they’re officially separated).

With all that being said, it’s not hard to imagine Nicole and Leslie having a faceoff in the near future. Every person has a breaking point, and we suspect Nicole is quickly reaching hers.

We can picture Leslie approaching Nicole on the wrong day and the wrong moment, and Nicole unleashing on her, unable to contain all of her frustration. In good soapy fashion, we envision this confrontation happening maybe in the hospital stairwell. After some harsh words are exchanged, things then get physical. Before you know it, one thing leads to another, and Leslie goes sailing down the stairs.

In the aftermath of such a scenario, Nicole may claim the fall was an accident. However, again in soapy fashion, there appears to be a lack of hospital camera footage to back Nicole’s story, leaving her in some legal hot water. It may sound ironic, but at that point, would Nicole need Leslie’s confirmation that her tumble down a flight of stairs was an accident? Would Leslie give it? We think there’s a world where Leslie helps Nicole, but it’s likely to come at a big cost.

Kat (Colby Muhammad) and Jacob (Jibre Hordges) are currently determined to see Leslie thrown in prison for the attempted murder of Laura (Destiny Love). It seems like the walls are closing in on Leslie, but if she gains leverage over Nicole, will Leslie press Nicole to make sure the investigation goes away to ensure Nicole’s own freedom?

Kat would probably throw the investigation if that spares Nicole a stint in prison. And Jacob might be a Boy Scout, but he may not want to rock the boat with Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) and the rest of the Duprees by locking up Nicole (although we know he had no problem arresting Dani [Karla Mosley] after that wedding incident).

This is all a theory for now, but one we have to consider. It’s time Nicole taps into her dramatic side and Leslie sets her sights on a get-out-of-jail-free card. We like Leslie, so we don’t want her hauled off to the pokey.
