The 2024/25 Premier League season is in full flow, showcasing some of the best talent and most exciting fixtures in world soccer. Champions Manchester City will again be fighting off the challenge from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur to see who will lift the famous trophy next May.

Aston Villa and Newcastle United will also be eager to improve on the promise of recent years.

New boys Leicester City, Ipswich Town and Southampton, will be battling things out with the likes of Brentford, Nottingham Forest and Fulham at the other end of the table to retain their top flight status and live to fight another day. While Everton fans should be rightfully worried that their 122-year top flight tenure may finally come to an end.

Premier League football has been on pay TV in the UK since its inception in 1992. 200 games are shown per season (with all Saturday 3pm UK kick-offs still excluded) and, to catch as many games as possible, you'll need a grand total of three subscriptions.

The majority of games (128) are shown on Sky Sports on top of a regular Sky base package — at the time of writing, prices start from £46 a month, although they do fluctuate a little up and down.

A cheaper, more flexible option is signing up to a rolling Now Sports Membership for £34.99 per month, which lets you access all Sky Sports channels just without the non-sporting entertainment that Sky offers, too.

Another 52 matches will be shown on TNT Sports (formerly BT Sports), which you can view as a TV package or as an online streamer. It costs £30.99 a month either way and includes the Discovery Plus library of factual content if you opt for the online option.

Last but not least there's Amazon's online streaming service Prime Video showing 20 games — usually around the busy Christmas period. £8.99 per month or £95 per year pays for an Amazon Prime subscription to watch these and also gets you all the other Prime perks such as free delivery, exclusive discounts and Amazon Music.

BBC's flagship highlights show Match of the Day carries extensive coverage and analysis of all matches later on in the day their played. That's free to watch on BBC TV or the online iPlayer, assuming you have a UK TV licence.

How to watch Premier League 2024/25 in the US

Unlike in the UK, you can watch every single game of EPL soccer if you live in the US.

NBC's dedicated online platform Peacock streams all Premier League matches for the cost of only $7.99 per month / $79.99 a year. Most go out live.

If you want to watch on TV, you'll find several Premier League games per matchday shown on NBC, CNBC and USA. It's worth noting, however, that games slated for CNBC and USA won't go out live simultaneously on Peacock — you'll have to wait until the following day to watch them on the online service.

If you don't have access to those NBC channels through cable or your antenna, then you can access them through a live TV streaming service that has them in its line-up.

For example, Sling TV's Blue plan, which costs from $40 per month, includes NBC and USA in select markets (check here whether yours is included). DirecTV from $79.99 a month and Fubo from $79.99 per month are other OTT options that include NBC stations.

Optus Sport is once again carrying every single one of the 380 Premier League matches this season.

How to watch the NBA in the US

In the US, NBA games will be nationally televised on ESPN, TNT, ABC, ESPN3 and NBA TV during the 2023/24 season.

ABC is one of the US' main four broadcast networks that are available to anyone with a traditional pay-TV subscription or a TV antenna. If you've moved away from traditional cable though to a live TV streaming service, ABC is available on popular services such as DirecTV, FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV.

ESPN and TNT, meanwhile, are premium cable channels, but are widely available on both traditional cable TV subscriptions (double check with your local provider) and live TV streaming services. If you're looking for the latter, ESPN is available on DirecTV, FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV (specifically Orange) and YouTube TV; TNT is available on DirecTV, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV (both Blue and Orange) and YouTube TV.

Finally, there's NBA TV, which is not available as a standard channel on DirecTV, FuboTV, Sling TV or YouTube TV, but can be added as part of an add-on bundle on all of those services. You can also access NBA TV broadcasts through NBA League Pass, with plans costing $14.99 per month or $99.99 per season.

How to watch the NBA in the UK

It's all change for basketball fans in the UK this season, with TNT Sports (formerly Eurosport and BT Sport) picking up the rights to the NBA. The broadcaster will air at least nine games during each week of the regular season, with live streaming available through Discovery Plus.

TNT Sports costs £29.99 per month, and also has exclusive coverage of the Champions League, Europa League, Europa Conference League, MLB and MotoGP.

A subscription also unlocks access to Discovery Plus' factual shows, as well as all of the sports previously shown by Eurosport, such as Premier League, tennis and cycling.

Hardcore fans may instead want to look at NBA League Pass, which costs £14.99 per month or £99.99 for the season, after a 7-day free trial, and shows every single game live.

How to watch the NBA in Australia

ESPN has the rights to air the NBA in Australia, so if you want to catch the action, you'll want a Foxtel Sports subscription or access to Kayo Sports.

This latter is your cheapest option, with plans costing as little as $25 per month, and and unlocking access to all of Foxtel's live sports coverage. The catch is that it's streaming only. You can find Kayo Sports here.

To watch on TV, you'll need Foxtel Sports. This costs $77 per month, though there's a discount if you commit to a year's plan which brings it down to $58.60 each month. Some of Foxtel's top-end bundles, like Premium or Platinum Plus, also include sports streaming but they cost more than the Sports package. Use Foxtel's app to stream instead of watching on TV if you'd rather watch online.

English football is back because the Premier League 2023/24 kicks off on Friday, August 11. That means it's time to work out how to watch the matches, whether you live in the UK or abroad.

This annual cycle of the EPL returns its schedule to normal, after disruptions first from COVID-19 and then from the World Cup 2022. The season will run until Sunday, May 19, 2024. 

Manchester City is coming in hot after three Premier League wins in a row, along with many EPL regulars. Promoted this year are Sheffield United, Burnley and Luton Town, with the latter returning after an absence of over 30 years, replacing the relegated Southampton, Leeds United and Leicester City.

How to watch the Premier League in the UK

There's no easy way to watch the Premier League in the UK — in fact, to catch all games, you'll need a grand total of three subscriptions, with very little overlap in which games will be airing on which platforms.

First, online streaming service Prime Video will be airing 20 games, so if you're paying £8.99 per month or £95 per year for an Amazon Prime subscription you can watch these. The price also gets you all the other Amazon Prime perks, which may make it worth the subscription cost.

Another 52 matches will show on TNT Sports, formerly BT Sports, which you can view as a TV package or as an online streamer. It costs £29.99 either way and includes Discovery Plus' library of factual content if you opt for the online option.

The rest of the matches will air on Sky Sports though, making it the best option if you only want one subscription, with its offerings covering 128 games throughout the season.

Unfortunately, Sky Sports is also your priciest option, costing £46 per month (that's £18 per month over a standard Sky TV contract, though the prices fluctuate a little). A cheaper option is signing up to Now Sports for £34.99 per month, which lets you access Sky's channels, though you'll miss out on the non-sporting entertainment that Sky offers too.

In the UK, do bear in mind the blackout laws when planning your streaming or TV watching — on Saturdays, you won't be able to watch any matches between 2:45 pm and 5:15 pm, on any of the above methods.

How to watch the Premier League in the US

It's actually a lot easier to watch the Premier League in the US than it is in the UK.

Your easiest and cheapest way to watch all of the matches is using streaming service Peacock, with just $5.99 per month letting you watch the action (even games that aren't showing in the UK due to blackout rules). Paying $11.99 per month lets you stream without ads.

If you want to watch on TV, you'll find many of the Premier League games scattered across various NBC Sport-related channels: Sling TV (on its Blue plan), Fubo, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV all offer NBC, NBC Sports Network, USA and CNBC.

Fubo costs $74.99 per month for its Pro plan, though an extra $10 will get you to Elite with more channels and DVR and an extra $20 will get you Ultimate with a huge number of channels. Sling TV costs $40 for its Blue plan or $55 for its Blue and Orange plan each month, though you can get $10 off your first month to save a little money. Hulu with Live TV runs you $69.99 per month with ads and $82.99 per month for no ads. YouTube TV has just one monthly rate of $72.99 per month.

How to watch the Premier League in Australia

The one and only way to watch Premier League 2023/24 games in Australia is using a subscription to Optus Sport, with the online streaming service airing all the games (at admittedly antisocial hours for many).

Optus Sport costs $24.99 per month or $199 per year, with that annual price equating to four months' free over the monthly cost. Subscribers to Optus SubHub can pay just $6.99 monthly too, making it a great deal if you already use this service.

Plus, with football blackout rules in place, we don't even get to watch every match from the comfort of our own homes, either. 

The biggest broadcaster for the Premier League in the UK is (and continues to be) Sky Sports. They get the lion's share of matches each season, having aired more than 140 games last season (mostly on Sky Sports Premier League).

There's a range of Sky TV packages available to suit just about everyone, so the simplest way to check out all the best Sky TV deals is to head to Sky.com. Sky Sports is available as an add-on to whatever package you choose, so it's really up to you what you want to choose 

If you just want access to Sky Sports on its own for the duration of the Premier League, we'd suggest looking into a NOW Sports Pass instead. For a £34.99 a month rolling contract, this pass gets you complete access to all 11 Sky Sports channels, so you can keep up with the games that matter to you plus other sports including Formula 1, NFL, cricket, golf, and more.

At the time of our most recent update, there's currently an offer available that sees you getting the Now Sports pass for just £21 a month for six months, before auto-renewing at the standard price. 

The second-biggest broadcaster is BT Sport. For the 22/23 season, BT has a minimum of 52 fixtures that are exclusive to BT Sport. Like NOW, BT Sport is available as a rolling monthly contract for the cheaper price of £29.99 a month. 

This gets you all five BT channels (BT Sport channels 1-4 plus Box Nation) and lets you stream all the sports you could want on your preferred device. Do be aware that BT Sport is rebranding later this year to TNT Sports, as well.

If you're looking to maximize your Premier League coverage, BT offers a "Big Sport" package which comes with a NOW Sport membership, BT Sport and Prime Video (more on that below), so you can watch every single televised top-flight football match this season.

Prime Video is the third and final major Premier League broadcaster that you need to know about in the UK. Under its current agreement, Amazon has the rights to a small number of matches; like last season, there were 20 live fixtures exclusive to the streaming service in 2022, split into two batches during the winter.

Since the European Amazon Prime price hike went into effect last year, a monthly Amazon Prime subscription costs £8.99 a month, with the annual fee now costing £95 a year. 

Where to watch the Premier League in the US

In 2021, NBC Sports signed a six-year rights deal with the Premier League that will see NBC continue to be the US home of the Premier League until 2028. This deal covered all 380 matches, and came with exclusive rights to Spanish-language coverage, too.

Premier League games will be shared across NBC's various channels and platforms; landmark matches will air on NBC's flagship stations, whilst some others will play out on USA Network. Games that aren't shown on these networks will be made available to stream on Peacock. 

The cheapest way to get access to NBC and the USA Network (local TV listings permitting) if you don't already have it is to sign up for the Sling Blue package with Sling TV. 

Sling Blue comes with the cable channels you'll need to watch the Premier League in the US along with other channels perfect for sports fans like the NFL Network and Fox Sports. For the complete Premier League experience, you're also going to be a Peacock Premium subscriber, as around half of this season's games will only be available to stream on the NBC service.

Peacock Premium costs $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year, but if you want to get rid of ads in your on-demand content you can opt for Peacock Premium Plus for $9.99 a month / $99.99 a year. 

Peacock does have a free tier, but you won't be able to stream the English Premier League that way, as live sports broadcasts are just one of the range of perks available solely to Premium members. The bright side here is that being a Peacock Premium subscriber also enables you to watch other live sports along with Peacock Originals, plus you'll also get next-day access to returning broadcast series, too.

Which Premier League teams have been relegated?

Norwich City, Burnley, and Watford have all dropped down to the second division for the current season. They have been replaced by Bournemouth, Fulham, and Nottingham Forest, the latter of which has not been in the EPL for 23 years.

How to watch the Premier League in the United States

If you're wanting to watch the Premier League in the US, it's nice and easy. That's because NBCUniversal has the rights to every single game, so you can watch the entire season (all 380 matches) across NBC's platforms.

Most folks will find games on NBCSN (with a few spread across CNBC, USA, or NBC proper), which is available on every cable service or major streaming platform.

The most economical way to get NBCSN if you don't already have it is to sign up for the Sling Blue package on Sling TV. On its own, it costs $35 a month and gets you more than 40 channels — including NBCSN. But you can do even better if you pair it up with the Sling Orange plan, for $50 a month.

Premier League games on NBC and NBCSN will also be streamed at the NBCSports website and on the NBC Sports app.

How to watch the Premier League in the UK

Despite the UK being the home of the Premier League, watching your favorite team can be a bit tricky. For a start, not every game is televised owing to the blackout rule. Even if the game you're after is one of the 200 available to watch live, you'll then have to figure out whether to stream it on Sky Sports, Prime Video, and BT Sport.

As per usual, Sky Sports will be home to the bulk of the televised games this year. However, there are still 52 which are exclusive to BT Sport this season and there's a decent amount of upcoming games exclusive to the latter service. So, it's definitely worth considering if you want complete access to all the televised games this season. 

What teams are in the Premier League in 2022?

One of the coolest things about the Premier League — especially when compared to professional sports in the United States — is that the teams change a bit every season. The bottom three teams in the Premier League at the end of the season (based on points) are "relegated" down one level to the English Football League Championship. (Also known as the Sky Bet Championship.) And the top two teams from the EFL are promoted to the Premier League. (A third team joins them after a little mini-tournament between the Nos. 3-6 teams in the EFL.)

It's great because it puts some real stakes on the season. It's not just about money — it's also about the indignity of being sent down a level. And it gives teams in the lower leagues impetus to play harder (and spend more money) to reach the top level. After the 2020-21 season, Fulham, West Brom and Sheffield United were relegated to the EFL, while Brentford, Norwich City and Watford were promoted.

How to watch Manchester City in the UK

Following the Premier League in the UK can be a bit of a pain, as matches are shared between Sky Sports, BT Sport, and then Amazon Prime gets involved during the Winter.

If you're a Manchester City fan, you'll need a BT Sport subscription to watch the most games at the beginning of the season. Although Sky has the team's first televised match against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 15 August, you'll have to switch over to BT Sport for the next two televised match-ups against Chelsea and Arsenal.

As we mentioned, once November rolls around, Amazon has the exclusive rights to two full rounds of the Premier League, so you'll need to switch over to Amazon Prime to keep up towards the Christmas period.

How to watch Manchester City in the United States

US football fans will be able to watch all 380 matches in the Premier League this season. Most games that are being broadcast on TV are being shown on NBCSN, but a few will appear on either CNBC or NBC proper. These channels can be found on every single cable service or streaming platform.

The most cost-effective way of getting NBCSN is Sling TV's Sling Blue package. Picking up this package gets you NBCSN along with 42 other channels. Three decent signings, but I sure fans will be hoping for more new names including a backup striker to Harry Kane.

Everton finished in a disappointing twelfth place last season, and they have made some good signings already including the high profile signing of James Rodriguez from Real Madrid. Two other good signings are Allan, a Brazilian midfielder from Napoli and Abdoulaye Doucoure from Watford. So in midfield, they have looked to transform their options in that position, and they looked to be in a far healthier place in doing so.

It promises to be fascinating to see how the two sides fare this season, as expectations on improvements from last season are expected so will be interesting to see how the game goes on Sunday.

Tottenham vs. Everton: Players to watch

From the home side, we are picking Dele Alli. The England international a couple of seasons ago was seen as being a major star in the coming years in the Premier League but as yet, he has yet to hit those heights. He is still only 24 years of age, and a big season is hoped for from the Spurs fans.

For Everton, we have to select James Rodriguez due to make his first league start for the club. It will be interesting to see how Rodriguez fares in the Premier League. He is massively talented technically, with a lovely left foot which is capable of scoring great goals and setting up opportunities for others. How will he cope with the physical demands and where will Ancelotti try to play him in the team system will be intriguing to watch.

Tottenham vs. Everton: Prediction

We can see this one being a close affair. Tottenham Hotspur having home advantage will be favourites and Everton with a few changes are a bit of an unknown, but we do fancy both teams to pick up a point.

For Liverpool, today was a long time coming. It's hard to remember a time when the Reds weren't going to be this year's Premier League champions. It wasn't a matter of if — they simply had too many points for anyone to realistically catch them.

OK, maybe it was a matter of if. Because for a while nobody was sure if the Premier League would finish, thanks to the shutdown for the global pandemic. We knew the world would never look the same. We new football (soccer!) would one day continue, and that Liverpool would one day continue to put tallies in the win column. We just didn't know if it'd actually be in 2020.

But like many major professional football leagues (including the MLS here in COVID-19-ridden America), the games continued. Sure, there aren't any fans in the stands, and the usual crowd noise is fed into the TV feed artificially (which I'd argue is a an affront to god and man and the sport itself), and today — after a 30-year wait, plus a few extra months for a novel coronavirus, Liverpool hoists the Premier League trophy.

It's a feat no other team has done. Liverpool sealed the title with seven games left on the fixtures — two games quicker than the likes of Everton (1984-85 season), Manchester United (1907-08, 2000-01), and Man City more recently in the 2017-18 season.

But the work is not yet finished. Liverpool plays host to Chelsea today at 8 p.m. local time — 3 p.m. Eastern here in the United States.

The Reds are playing for pride. Nobody wants to celebrate the league title after suffering an embarrassing loss. Chelsea, meanwhile, is very much playing for third place. (Man City is secure in second, 15 points ahead going into today's game.)

Chelsea enters today's game a point ahead of Leicester and Manchester United, and four points ahead of six-place Wolves. Chelsea and Wolves face each other Sunday on the final day of the season, and Man U and Leicester go at it. So, barring draws, there absolutely will be some movement in the tables.

But today, win or lose, is about Liverpool. It's about the Reds' remarkable season. It's about lifting that trophy and celebrating what they did — and how they did it. And like it or not, everyone's got to tip a hat to that.

Here it is — our first full weekend of Premier League play since the pause for the global pandemic. There are four games on the slate on Saturday, three more on Sunday, and a lone game on Monday.

The headline, of course, is that Liverpool — which is still sitting squarely atop the tables and will still be so no matter how the weekend ends up — is back on the pitch on Sunday.

Going into Saturday's games, Liverpool remained 22 points ahead of Manchester City, which beat Arsenal 3-0 on Wednesday in the second game back from the break. Assuming Liverpool wins on Sunday, the Reds could clinch the Premier League title the following day should Manchester City lose at home to Burnley. If Man City wins on Monday, Liverpool could clinch the title on Wednesday at home with a win against the visiting Crystal Palace.

At the bottom of the table, Bournemouth and Aston Villa each have a lot to play for this weekend, making up two of the three teams below the relegation line. (For those not used to the way things work, the bottom three teams at the end of the season will be sent down to a lower league, with three lower-league teams replacing them.)

Bournemouth plays Crystal Palace in Saturday's final game, and Aston Villa hosts Chelsea on Sunday.
