Strictly Come Dancing 2025 is heading for our screens next week, bringing glitz and glamour back to our Saturday nights once again. But, there is a big change heading for the series as the way we vote has altered.

It was announced by the BBC that phone voting has been dropped from the show, meaning all fans of the series will now need to vote for their favorites online.

The BBC says: "For years, shows like Strictly Come Dancing, BBC Sports Personality of the Year and Eurovision let viewers vote by calling premium-rate numbers. However, this is now an outdated system and also expensive to run.

"Online voting has become the go-to choice for most viewers. In fact, the overwhelming majority of votes for the last Strictly series were cast online."

Online-only voting can be done via your BBC account, which the BBC explains 'offers a more personalised iPlayer experience and weather updates tailored to your location'.

Back for the new series are Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman in their presenting roles, with Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton du Beke all returning to the judging panel.

The celebrity lineup includes Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, Dani Dyer, Vicky Pattison, Alex Kingston, Balvinder Sopal, Stefan Dennis, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, Chris Robshaw, Ellie Goldstein, George Clarke, La Voix, Ross King, Karen Carney, and Lewis Cope.

Actor Kristian Nairn was also announced but had to withdraw for medical reasons, with Lewis Cope replacing him.

Strictly Come Dancing returns to our screens on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

Strictly Come Dancing 2025 is just around the corner and, now that we know which celebrity contestants are taking part, everyone's trying to work out who might be joining the Strictly Come Dancing winners list.

While former Emmerdale favourite Lewis Cope is currently favourite to win at 7/2, Ross King is unfortunately predicted to be the first elimination for the new series at 80/1.

However, in a shock turn of events, Neighbours legend Stefan Dennis has been given virtually no chance of winning after being given whopping odds of 50-1. According to bookmakers Oddschecker, the Neighbours legend could be one of the first to leave the competition, but of course, this is based on nothing but speculation.

One thing Stefan most definitely has on his side is the number of Neighbours fans who will be voting in their droves. If viewers of the Australian soap can get the show renewed after it was axed by Channel 5 back in 2022, then who knows how far Stefan might get in the series.

Other odds for the celebrity dancers are: Ellie Goldstein 9/2, Dani Dyer 5/1, Karen Carney 9/1, George Clarke 10/1, Alex Kingston 16/1, Vicky Pattinson 18/1, Harry Aikines-Aryeetey 20/1, Balvinder Sopal 20/1, Tom Skinner 22/1, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink 35/1, Le Voix 35/1, and Chris Robshaw neck and neck with Stefan at 50/1.

The new series, which starts later this month, sees Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman back presenting once again, while Craig Revel Horwood, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton du Beke are all back on the judging panel once again.

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 saw Chris McCausland lift the glitterball trophy with dance partner Dianne Buswell, and this year we will have two new professional dancers joining the show when it returns.

Sadly, we have already had our first celebrity withdraw from the series, with Game of Thrones star Kristian Nairn leaving due to 'unforeseen medical reasons'. Could his replacement, Lewis Cope, be the one to lift the trophy this year?

It has been announced today, Thursday, August 21, that Game of Thrones star, Kristian Nairn, has had to pull out of Strictly Come Dancing 2025 due to 'unexpected medical reasons'.

The news comes ahead of the new series, which starts next month, meaning a new celebrity had had to be found to take Kristian's place. The BBC has confirmed that the new celebrity joining the line-up will be revealed on tonight's The One Show on BBC One from 7 pm.

Speaking of having to withdraw from the seires, Kristian Nairn said: “With a heavy heart, I have to step back from this season of Strictly Come Dancing due to unexpected medical reasons. I was truly looking forward to the journey, and I’m deeply sorry to disappoint anyone who was looking forward to seeing me on the dance floor. Thank you all for your support, and I will be back on my feet very soon, in every sense. Love to all, Kristian."

Sarah James, Executive Producer, BBC Studios added: “We’ve absolutely loved getting to know Kristian in this short time, and he has all the makings of a brilliant Strictly Come Dancing contestant. We’re incredibly sorry to lose him from this year’s series and we all wish him a speedy recovery.”

The new famous face will be joining this year's already confirmed line-up, which includes Harry Aikines-Aryeetey from Gladiators, TV personality Dani Dyer, star of stage and screen, Alex Kingston, former professional footballer, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, EastEnders favourite Balvinder Sopal and British YouTuber George Clarke.

Also taking part are performer, presenter and singer La Voix, former rugby player Chris Robshaw, model, actor and influencer, Ellie Goldstein, The Apprentice star Thomas Skinner, Neighbours legend Stefan Dennis, former footballer Karen Carney, TV presenter Vicky Pattison and Good Morning Britain and Lorraine star Ross King.

Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One in September. Past seasons of the show are available to watch on BBC iPlayer.

It was announced today, Monday, August 11, that Gladiators star Harry Aikines-Aryeetey, aka Nitro, will be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing 2025.

Harry is the first celebrity name to be officially announced for the new series, which will arrive on our screens next month.

The BBC revealed the news on this morning's episode of CBBC show Newsround, where Harry, who took part in the Strictly Come Dancing 2024 Christmas Special, said: “After the Christmas Special, it was so nice I just had to do it twice! I’m so excited to be part of the Strictly family this series and I’m ready to give it all I’ve got. I’ll be bringing tons of energy to light up the dance floor. Let’s hope I’m as quick at picking up the routines as I am on the track!"

But, while fans are desperate to know who will be joining Harry on the Strictly dancefloor this year, we have a little wait to find out who will be announced next because it has been confirmed by the BBC that the next three celebrities will be announced on The One Show tonight at 7 pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.

Harry's name being announced first won't come as much of a surprise to fans after he was strongly rumoured to be taking part in the show following his huge success on the festive special.

The Gladiators star, who is an Olympian and a multi-gold medal-winning Team GB sprinter, became the first athlete to win gold medals at both 100 and 200 metres at the World Youth Championships, and won the 2005 BBC Young Sports Personality of the Year award aged 17.

Harry has gone on to win gold in the 4x100m relay at the European Championships and at the Commonwealth Games. He has competed in two Olympic Games and is a three-time European Champion and two-time Commonwealth Champion.

It is probably the understatement of the year to say that Chris McCausland has had a pretty 2024. After melting a nation's hearts and waltzing to victory in Strictly Come Dancing 2024, he now tops things off by co-starring in Bad Tidings, a soft-centered festive comedy in which he co-stars with Lee Mack.

Oh, and McCausland somehow found the time to co-write it too, with Ghosts writers Laurence Rickard and Martha Howe-Douglas. McCausland and Mack have previous as a double act. When they jointly presented an award at the TV Baftas in 2022 it was instantly obvious that they had fantastic chemistry. There was no straight man in this twosome, they were as funny as each other, trading quips and joking about the lines on the autocue script that Mack had to read for the visually impaired McCausland. The dream team then had what now looks like a dry run for Bad Tidings when McCausland had a cameo in Mack’s never-ending BBC sitcom Not Going Out. In the episode set in a train carriage, they played passengers who collided with suitably hilarious consequences.

So here they are again, clashing until the cows come home as burglar alarm salesman Neil (Mack) and Scouse accountant Scott (McCausland) who live opposite each other in a Stockport cul-de-sac. Most of the squabbles are caused by grouchy Neil’s’s small-minded curtain-twitching nosiness. During one heated exchange, Scott reveals that the neighbours have nicknamed Neil "petty spaghetti". But the big thing that gets Neil reaching boiling point is that Scott leaves his Christmas lights up all year and at night they shine straight into his bedroom over the road. Scott, like McCausland, is blind, so the lights don’t bother him, although you would think the electricity bills might. But let’s not be all petty spaghetti about plot holes. It is also probably best not to think too hard about why Scott ends up teetering on his rooftop during one of the stand-out set-pieces. Or how.

The feud comes to a head, however, when Neil tries to get the better of Scott by putting up even more illuminations than him on his house. Unfortunately, he causes a power surge and wipes out the electricity in the entire close. While everyone else, including Neil’s wife Laura (Sarah Alexander) leaves to spend Christmas with friends and family, joint community coordinators Neil and Scott have to stay and stand guard. It is all enjoyable, clean family-friendly fun. And then just when you think things can’t get any sillier a gang of cartoonish local villains, led by tough-as-boots Stacey Brennan (Rebekah Stanton), hear about the power cut and decide to rob every house in one night.

Can Neil and Scott put their differences aside and heroically defend the street? Before you can say "home alone" of course they can…. Bad Tidings is the perfect feel-good way to kick off your Christmas TV viewing. McCausland proves that not only can he do stand-up comedy and shiny floored shimmying, he can also act. Although in fairness playing a blind Liverpudlian harly involves a deep dive into Daniel Day-Lewis style method acting for him. The script is nicely sprinkled with playful asides about Scott’s lack of sight. During one argument Neil suggests that Scott is the person least qualified to run the Neighbourhood Watch.

But actually during the blackout Scott’s skilful way of knowing his way around in the dark becomes a distinct advantage as he proves himself to be a crack shot with a tin of sausage and beans. But if McCausland is the big draw here, let’s not forget Lee Mack, one of the funniest comedians in the country. Again, it’s not the biggest stretch for the Not Going Out star to play a stressed-out husband, but his character does have more depth than initially meets the eye. You might start off swiftly disliking Neil — well, it saves time — but you end up being sympathetic towards him. If you need something to get you into the Yuletide mood Bad Tidings is just the thing. It’s got laughs, it’s got heart, it’s even got a Love Actually joke in it. Let McCausland put the Chris in your Christmas.

Bad Tidings will premiere on Sunday, December 22 at 7.30 pm on Sky Max and also be available from then on NOW for Christmas 2024.

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 reached the final this evening with four couples battling it out to lift the glitterball trophy.

JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanek, Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell, and Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppolo, all took to the dancefloor for the last time.

The couples were mentored by one of each of the judges, and displayed all their skills in their show dances.

There were a few twists - including Tasha's brother who arrived from Australia to surprise her - and the fans loved it.

Chris and Dianne were the viewers' fave from the start, with many fans commending Chris - who is blind - for being brave enough to take part in the show.

"Long after this series is gone, we will remember the courage, attitude, skill and laughter this wonderful man has shown," said one impressed viewer.

And it seemed Chris and Dianne had also attracted some celebrity fans.

Chris's comedian friend Lee Mack was in the crowd, cheering on his mate and looking decidedly emotional at some points. Aww!

While Victoria Coren Mitchell said she'd bought a new television for the occasion! And she added that Chris's dancing was "powerful Christmas magic".

We have to admit, we were more than a little emotional ourselves!

And Chris also won over the judges. He even melted Craig Revel Horwood's icy heart!

Craig wrote a poem for Chris, telling him how proud he was.

And then as the icing on the cake, he gave Chris and Dianne a 10 for their final dance - a reprise of their Viennese Waltz to You'll Never Walk Alone.

What a night! But which couple will lift the glitterball trophy? It's all down to the audience tonight - the judges' scores don't count.

And though it might seem like a done deal, anything can happen.

We can't wait to find out.

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 reached the semi-final this week, with the celebs and their professional partners really pulling out all the stops to wow the judges.

It's always a tightly fought competition at this stage, with the couples having to dance twice and really impress to make it through to the final.

But before the first dances had even finished, the fans were taking to social media to declare their winner.

And it isn't even a celebrity contestant - well, not quite!

The viewers are united in their adoration of Strictly pro Dianne Buswell, calling her "a star".

This year, Dianne is paired with blind comedian Chris McCausland. The pair have really hit it off and Chris has won over the viewers with his determination.

"Just give Chris the glitterball trophy NOW," said one impressed fan. "Chris and Dianne for the win."

While Chris has been delighting the fans, the viewers have also been amazed by Dianne's efforts.

In fact, fans are hoping she gets to lift the glitterball trophy next week!

"Dianne DESERVES THAT TROPHY!" one fan declared.

"These two have been my highlight of this year's strictly," wrote another smitten viewer. "Dianne is a star and Chris works just as hard as everyone. I love them both so much.

Others mentioned Dianne's considerate coaching methods and how well she cares for Chris during the show.

Each week she tells Chris what is going on, and always makes sure he is safe when they go up to the Clauditorium.

"we're going up [the stairs] now" makes my heart weep joy every week," said an impressed viewer.

Chris and Dianne danced a Charleston first this week, scoring 33 points.

But it was their second dance - an emotional Viennese waltz - that really wowed the fans, judges and audience alike.

Both Chris and Dianne were teary eyed as the dance finished, and the judges were moved, too.

They won their best score of the series - four 9s - for the dance.

Will their performance tonight be enough to see them into the final and maybe to be crowned Strictly champions?

Strictly Come Dancing viewers are all saying the same thing about one contestant and his performance on the floor. 

Pete Wicks was took to the Strictly dance floor on Saturday night (30th November)for the latest instalment of Strictly Come Dancing alongside his professional dance partner Jowita Przystal after the pair made it to the quarter-final.

However, some viewers were critical of how the judges rated the performance, saying that Pete and his dance partner are 'immune to criticism'.

One Strictly Come Dancing fan wrote of the dance, 'Why are Pete and Jowita immune to criticism from the judges?

'He makes mistakes every single week and if it was anyone else they’d be getting crucified and not getting overmarked every week it’s a joke at this point.'

To which another fan of the BBC show said in agreement, 'Craig was so real for that 5.'

While another wrote, 'Why do the judges never wanna dwell on pete's mistakes but will go on and on about others that are actually good dancers #strictly.'

While another replied, 'Pete has long overstayed his welcome, he’s been the weakest dancer for weeks yet better performers are getting voted out cos all the middle aged Karens watching who think he’s hot keep voting for him!

'I implore any Pete fans, this is a dance competition, stop voting for him!'

And another said, 'Pete makes mistakes and Shirley says it's OK once again Diane telling Chris it's OK you are amazing coming up the stairs just makes me have tears.'

While another replied, defending the judges, 'He comes bottom every week you can't blame the judges for him staying in.'

And another fan said, 'Sorry, quarter final and Pete is getting it wrong, judges said he's shoddy and yet they keep praising him and somehow being persuaded to give him good critique. While others get put in dance off. I feel something isn't right here.'

To which another said, 'Can't believe the judges voted off montell and JJ Pete goes thru again shocked.'

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 reached week 10 tonight, with the remaining celebrities battling it out to make it to next week's quarter final!

Things got pretty competitive on the Strictly dance floor with Sarah and Vito, JB and Lauren, and Montell and Johannes, all winning 10s from the judges.

PLUS, Tasha and Aljaz scooped the first four 10s of the series for their beautiful American smooth.

At home, the viewers were delighted by the fabulous dancing on show. But it was actually a visitor to the show that left the fans - and Claudia - "sobbing"

Dancer Dianne Buswell has wowed the viewers this series with her brilliant partnership with comedian Chris McCausland.

Chris, who's blind, has wowed the fans throughout the season with his moves and Dianne's thoughtful choreography and care for her celebrity partner has won her a whole new host of fans.

At the start of the series, Australian Dianne told Chris she wanted to stay in the competition until November because her parents were coming to watch her dance.

Chris looked doubtful at the very idea of staying in the show so long. But here we were in week 10 and Dianne's parents Mark and Rina Buswell were in the crowd!

Proud dad Mark was so chuffed with Chris and Dianne's paso doble, that he was sobbing in the audience.

And that set everyone else off. Even Claudia up in the auditorium! And for a while 'Dianne' was trending on social media site X!

"I'm so happy Chris and Dianne are still in so we could have this moment," said one emotional fan.

"Not Dianne's dad crying," another viewer shared. "I'm sobbing."

After the sambathon at the end of this evening's episode, Chris and Dianne were second bottom on the leaderboard. But the fans are convinced they'll be taking home the glitterball trophy.

"Not only is he inspirational, he is incredible," said one stunned fan after Chris danced this evening.

Strictly Come Dancing fans spotted a meaningful reaction in the audience in last night's episode after some harsh comments from the judges.

Last night's Strictly Come Dancing (which aired on Saturday, November 16th) saw the BBC dance competition move to Blackpool Tower Ballroom, where the contestants took to the floor to impress the judges.

But it was an audience reaction from one of the contestant's parents that got people talking.

EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick performed a jive to The Ketchup Song by Las Ketchup alongside dance partner Michelle Tsiakkas.

The star got a lukewarm reception from the judges, with Motsi Mabuse saying, "Your standing leg, just a little bit, a tiny little bit, it didn't give you that vibration you need so you can absorb the music."

The camera panned over to Jamie's mum, who appeared to 'roll her eyes' after Motsi's comments.

'Jamie mum being a supportive queen rolling the eyes after Motsi comments,' wrote one fan on X (formerly Twitter).

While another said, 'Jamie's mum rolling her eyes at the judges...spot on!'

And another wrote, 'Loved seeing Jamie's mum rolling her eyes at him being over criticised again!'

To which another replied, 'Me too.'

Another Strictly fan defended Jamie, writing, 'I absolutely loved this, I’m not sure why the judges undermarked this; definitely the dance of the night in my opinion, big well done.'

While another said, 'Catching up on #Strictly. Chris was my favourite this week! Wynne, Pete & Jamie all with unsuitable music. Wynne & Pete both stitched with terrible themes & costumes also!'

Meanwhile, another said, 'Just re watched #Strictly (half watched last night because ill) Wow, @tashaghouri #tasha #tashghouri. If there was ever a #GameOfThrones musical, you to play Daenerys Targaryen and this would be her dance. A-maz-ing!'

Looks like Tasha could be a strong contender for the Glitterball trophy.

Anton Du Beke and all the Strictly Come Dancing 2024 gang are gearing up for the dance competition's annual trip to the ballroom haven of Blackpool this weekend.

Eight couples remain in the competition — comedian Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell, EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick and Michelle Tsiakkas, singer and presenter JB Gill and Lauren Oakley, Gladiators' Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe, reality star Pete Wicks and Jowita Przystał, actress Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola, model and Love Island star Tasha Ghouri and Aljaž Škorjanec, and opera singer Wynne Evans and Katya Jones — and they're all hoping that they'll dazzle the audience and the judges this week in the Tower Ballroom to secure a place in next week's show.

Ahead of Strictly's Blackpool bonanza, we caught up with Anton, who joined the judging panel permanently in 2021 after 17 years as a professional dancer on the show, to get his thoughts on the series so far — and who he thinks could win it...

Josh Widdicombe

Stand-up comedian Josh Widdicombe was the first celebrity announced to be taking part in this year's Christmas special and he will be paired with professional dancer Karen Hauer.

Josh has starred in over thirty series of Channel 4’s The Last Leg as a team captain and co-hosts the hugely successful podcast Parenting Hell with Rob Beckett. He has also written two Sunday Times Bestselling books and appeared on multiple comedy panel shows including Smart TV, QI, A League Of Their Own, Have I Got News For You and Taskmaster to name but a few.

Speaking of his festive challenge, Josh said: “I am utterly terrified this will end in humiliation and worried I’m going to be so bad I will ruin Christmas for the nation. Why have I done this?”

Tayce

Welsh-born Tayce was a finalist on RuPaul’s Drag Race UK Season 2. She is often dubbed the 'Naomi Campbell of Drag' and she models across the world in runway fashion shows. She has presented on BBC Radio 1, MTV and Sky. Tayce performs her drag act globally and has also released her own rap single.

Tayce will be paired with Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Kai Widdrington.

Speaking of joining Strictly, Tayce says: "I cannot wait to sleigh on the Strictly Ballroom floor. My partner and I are going to dance for our lives! In all seriousness, it’s an incredible honour to be the first Drag artist to be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing. I hope I do all of my Drag Race and Welsh fans proud! Sign me up for all the glitz, glam and discoballs."

Vogue Williams

Presenter, podcaster, DJ and fitness expert Vogue Williams was announced as the third celebrity for this year's Christmas special and she will be dancing with Carlos Gu.

Vogue is from Ireland and is often seen presenting fashion and red carpet segments on ITV’s Lorraine. Speaking of her new challenge Vogue says: “I’m so excited to join the Strictly family! Carlos would have more of a chance of winning a Nobel prize than turning me into a good dancer but I am determined to try my very best! I’m loving it so far, bring on the Ballroom floor.”

Harry Aikines-Aryeetey

Harry Aikines-Aryeetey or Nitro is a Gladiator and Olympian. He will be paired with Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Nancy Xu.

Not only is Harry Nitro on the BBC One series of Gladiators. He is also a Team GB sprinter, and Commonwealth and World gold medallist sprinter. Harry has competed at the highest level in the UK since his youth.

Speaking of appearing on Strictly, Harry says: “STRICTLY... ARE YOU READY?! Nitro’s blasting onto the Ballroom floor this Christmas! I’m swapping my trainers for dancing shoes, and trust me, I’m bringing the power, the energy and the moves! This December I'm gonna light up that dancefloor and crank the Christmas spirit all the way UP. Let’s do this!”

Tamzin Outhwaite

Tamzin Outhwaite is an actress and will be paired with Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Nikita Kuzmin.

Tamzin is a multi-award-winning actress from stage and screen, best known for her series leading roles including DCI Sasha Miller in the BBC’s New Tricks, Hotel Babylon, Murder Is Easy and EastEnders to name but a few.

Tamzin said: “I’m so excited to swap the stage for the Strictly Ballroom this Christmas. I’m used to performing in front of a live audience, but this is a whole new experience. I can’t wait to immerse myself in all things glitter and sequins, let’s hope the judges show Nikita and I some extra festive cheer this Christmas!”

Billy Monger

Billy Monger is a racing driver and TV presenter. He will be paired with Strictly professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova.

Billy was critically injured in a high-speed collision while racing in Formula 4 which left him with both legs amputated. Despite this, Billy refused to give up on his racing career, lobbying to allow both disabled and non-disabled drivers to race alongside each other.

He won the BBC Sports Personality Helen Rollason Award and had a BAFTA-nominated BBC documentary made about his story and recently beat the world record for a double amputee in the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii - the toughest endurance event in the world.

Speaking of joining the Strictly line ul, Billy said: "I've spent the last 12 months training 20 hours a week for an Ironman world record attempt, but the thought of donning sequins in front of Craig Revel Horwood fills me with a fear I've never experienced before. This is about as far from my comfort zone as it can get! My family are big Strictly fans, so I'm doing it for them and to raise awareness for what I’m doing for Comic Relief next year. I'm just hoping my leg doesn't fall off mid-dance!"

Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special 2024 judges 

Once again, Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke and Shirley Ballas will be behind the judging desk, all hoping to see some seriously impressive footwork.

As with previous Christmas specials, the judges' scores along with the voting studio audience will determine who will be lifting the sought-after Christmas trophy.

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 got serious this week as the celebs and their professional partners fought to make it to Blackpool.

All the stars really upped their game with Tasha Ghouri and Aljaz Skorjanec - who danced first - scoring two tens right off the bat.

But while everyone impressed, it was the marking of a telly milestone that DELIGHTED the fans.

Comedian Sarah Hadland took to the floor to dance an American Smooth with partner Vito Coppola.

The pair danced to Proud by M People - a song that has a special meaning for Sarah! She starred in the sitcom Miranda, alongside Miranda Hart.

And her character Stevie was legendary for singing the song in the show.

After Sarah's dance, presenter Tess Daly revealed that today is 15 years since the first episode of Miranda aired.

And the fans were thrilled that Sarah had marked the occasion in such a perfect way.

One fan declared it "so personal to me", as others said they'd been "waiting weeks" to see Sarah dance to that song.

"Loved Vito and Sarah!" declared another fan.

"Simply stunning!" said a delighted viewer. "Loved every second of it!"

Some fans found it emotional, with one viewer saying the routine brought a lump to their throat.

Others said Sarah had made them proud!

And one pleased fan said it was "delicious"!

Sarah and Vito delighted the judges too with Motsi saying the lifts in their routine were on a "different level"!

The pair got 33 from the judges, with Anton Du Beke giving them 9 out of 10.

But will it be enough to get them to Blackpool? We'll have to wait until tomorrow evening's results show to find out.

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 brought the GLAMOUR this evening!

The celebrities, the professional dancers and the judges all paid tribute to some of the most legendary music stars in Icons Week!

But while most of the costumes impressed the viewers, not everyone was on board with judge Anton du Beke's outfit!

Including Anton himself, and presenter Claudia WInkleman!

The judges' costumes were hilarious. Craig Revel Horwood wowed as Barry Gibb, Motsi Mabuse showed off her style as Tina Turner and Shirley Ballas donned an impressive wig as Cher.

But it was Anton - with blonde spiky locks and leopard print - who really got everyone talking!

As Claudia introduced the judges, she faltered on Anton's entrance.

"Cher and... my Auntie Joan?" she joked.

As Tess fell about laughing, Anton explained he was supposed to be Rod Stewart.

Though he admitted his costume showed potential, he said he thought it was more like Coronation Street icon Bet Lynch!

And Bet Lynch wasn't the only person Anton was compared to! The fans were as creative as ever as they took to social media.

"He reminds me of Barry Elliot of The Chuckle Brothers," said one viewer. While another thought he resembled Charlie Mullins - the outspoken founder of Pimlico Plumbers.

Another viewer said he looked like his own one-time dance partner, presenter Ruth Langsford!

Some fans even thought he looked like Kate Garraway!

Meanwhile the celebrity dancers entertained as icons from The Beatles to Madonna and Freddie Mercury.

Tasha Ghouri and her partner Aljaz Skorjanek topped the leaderboard with 39 points for their Pink-inspired couple's choice.

While Pete Wicks and his partner Jowita Przystal were stuck at the bottom with 22 after their salsa to Another One Bites The Dust by Queen.

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 returned to our screens this evening with Halloween week!

Halloween week has become a fan fave every year, with the costume and makeup departments relishing the chance to show off their impressive skills! 

And this year was no different! The celebrities and their partners threw themselves into the scary-themed dances and there were some amazing costumes on display.

But there was one costume in particular that left fans HOWLING! With laughter, that is!

Professional dancer Carlos Gu doesn't have a celeb partner this year, but that didn't stop him getting involved in the Halloween fun.

And he got all the fans talking when he showed up in the 'Clauditorium' dressed as Claudia herself!

Carlos donned Claudia's trademark black outfit - right down to her lacy tights - and a wig featuring her legendary fringe.

And the fans ADORED it, taking to social media to label it "beyond iconic"!

We couldn't agree more.

"He has won Halloween," one fan announced, while another agreed: "Whatever happens tonight, Carlos is the winner."

"Best costume ever," declared another thrilled fan.

Halloween week was a big hit with the viewers overall.

Montell and Johannes scooped 35 points for their cha-cha, and Tasha and Aljaz  wowed with their samba and won 37 points. 

And top of the leaderboard were Sarah and Vito, and Jamie and Michelle.

Even the judges impressed with their villain-themed costumes! 

Motsi Mabuse was dressed as Cruella from 101 Dalmations, and head judge Shirley Ballas wowed as Winifred Sanderson from Hocus Pocus.

AND Anton Du Beke and Craig Revel Horwood thrilled the fans when they arrived dressed as the scary twins from horror film The Shining!

Chris: "Yeah, I love trick-or-treating with my daughter. I’m not easily scared, although spiders freak me out! Strictly is honestly the scariest thing I’ve ever experienced!"

Dianne: "Actually spiders don’t bother me. But I’m absolutely terrified of heights. Rollercoasters definitely aren’t my thing!"

Which judge would you most like to take trick or treating?
Chris: "Craig! I’d cast him loose in the scariest house and leave him to be eaten by ghouls. Seriously, as much as me and Craig have this banter, he’d be well up for the theatrics of trick-or-treating!"

Aljaz: "All I can tell you is that I need to make it way scarier! Because I don’t like being scared my approach is always to start off happy and then make the routine more terrifying as I go along! But wait until you see this year’s group number. Oh my goodness, it feels like a film scene!"

Tasha: "For me, it’s Shirley, just because I want to impress her the most! They’re all quite scary though, and this week they’re going to have spooky costumes on and look even scarier!"

Sarah: "For our Halloween dance I want to go all out with the costume, wig, makeup and prosthetics. I keep telling Vito I want to wear coloured contact lenses!"

Vito: "Anton, just to see the funny expression on his face! But actually Sarah is the best person to scare…"

Sarah: "I’m actually quite jumpy. I can’t even cope with films like Jaws. Sometimes when I’m in a swimming pool I still think, could he get in through a pipe?"

Do you both scare easily?
Punam: "I’m not good with horror films. For hours afterwards I think someone’s tiptoeing around my house!"

Gorka: "When I was 15 or 16 we went to watch The Ring. I wanted to play it cool with my schoolmates but I was literally screaming!"

Punam: "Vito. He’d be properly hyper and just scream the place down!"

Gorka: "If I had to spend the night in a haunted house I’d take Karen. We’d have a bit of banter and make fun of the situation even if we were terrified!"

Is Halloween a big thing for you?
Sam: "Yes! My kids have already planned their outfits. Molly loves witches, and Zac wants to be Spiderman – he’s obsessed! We’ll probably go trick or treating, too."

Nikita: "I’ve never been trick or treating. I wouldn’t know what to do if someone said ‘trick.’ Maybe do a backflip! But I love Halloween on Strictly. The fun thing is that you can either become an evil character or dress up like a hot dog!"

Is there anything you’re scared of in real life?
Nikita: "Ants! They’re just so small they can crawl in anywhere. And I mean anywhere!"

Wynne: "Putting up signs outside the house saying, ‘enter at your own peril’. But as soon as Halloween’s over I like to start on the mince pies!"

Wynne: "Jamie Borthwick! He pranks me all the time, so I need to get him back. He loves beige food and can’t have sauce in his burgers, so I’m planning to ruin that!"

Katya: "Honestly, those two are like a pair of five-year-old kids! But I love Halloween Week on Strictly – it allows you to go rogue!"

What can hint about your Halloween routine?
JB: "Normally anything scary isn’t my cup of tea but I’m hoping we’ll perform something memorable that my kids can watch! Part of the fun of Halloween is putting on a great outfit and having a bit of escapism!"

If you had to spend a night in a haunted house with another Strictly star who would it be?
JB: "Probably Vito because he’d have way too much energy for any of the ghosts."

Amy: "I’d pick Dianne, my bestie. She’d keep me entertained and I wouldn’t be scared because I’d be laughing my head off at her!"

Do you celebrate Halloween?
Jamie: "Not really, I prefer Christmas. I’m like the Halloween equivalent of someone who’s a bit bah humbug!"

Michelle: "I love Halloween! I love all the scary movies and those fun horror mazes you get at theme parks. I think Jamie’s just scared!"

Jamie, is there a fellow celeb you’d like to go trick or treating with?
Jamie: "All the boys on the show are into the banter and we kind of like winding each other up. But Wynne would be top of my list. Often if I’m not doing much I’m like, ‘I’m a bit bored, where’s Wynne?’"

Are you good at coping with spooky things?
Jowita: "No, I’m scared of snakes, alligators and even water. But spiders petrify me, even the tiniest ones!"

Pete: "I don’t really have any fears. One of my favourite things is even taking the dogs for a walk in the woods at night. I’ve also got a tattoo of Casper the friendly ghost on my hip. Although it looks more like a chubby cross-eyed baby!"

Which judge would you most like to take on a ghost train?
Pete: "For comedic purposes it would have to be Anton. He’d be so hilarious I’m actually going to have to organise it now!"

Are you looking forward to Halloween?
Shayne: "Yes! It was my birthday earlier this month – me and my twin sister Emma turned 40. So I always love this time of year. I’m one of seven kids and we used to watch horror films like A Nightmare on Elm Street and The Exorcist. Now I like to take my kids trick or treating. My daughter, Willow, loves daddy dressing as a vampire!"

What’s Halloween Week like at Strictly?
Nancy: "I always feel like there’s something spooky going on in Elstree Studios in Halloween Week. My phone was playing music out of nowhere the other day!"

What do you most love about Halloween Week?
Johannes: "Dressing up! But the routine always starts with the right song, so as soon as Strictly finishes in December I start updating my playlist for next year’s Halloween!"

Which Strictly pro would you most like to take on a ghost train?
Johannes: "Definitely not Nancy or Amy, they’d just be hugging each other out of fear. I’d take the big guns like Kai and Vito for a bit of protection!"

Montell: "Although I have to say I’m actually toughening Johannes up a bit. I’m roughening up his shiny side. He’s almost unrecognisable now!"

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 returns with Halloween Week on Saturday, October 26 at 6.25 pm - watch on BBC1 and BBC iPlayer.  

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 returned to our screens this evening. And it may only be week four of this year's competition, but the eagle-eyed fans reckon they've already spotted some clues about next year's line-up!

The show began in its usual sparkling fashion this evening with celebrity Shayne Ward taking to the floor with partner Nancy Xu. The pair opened the show with their bowling-themed cha cha, scooping a brilliant 30 points.

They were followed by TV star Sarah Hadland who danced a beautiful foxtrot with her partner Vito Coppola and won 27 points.

But though it was a very strong start to the show, it wasn't the dances that had thrilled the viewers at home.

It was the glittering line-up of stars in the front row of the crowd!

The sharp-eyed fans spotted Ted Lasso star James Lance - who plays reporter Trent Crimm - right at the front.

And he wasn't the only celeb.

He was joined by Kadiff Kirwan, better known as Marcus Longridge in Slow Horses.

"Trent Crimm and Marcus from Slow Horses in the #Strictly audience," said one excited fan.

They weren't the only celebs on show though.

Former contestants Helen Skelton and Sara Davis were there too.

And Gladiator Montell Douglas was being cheered on by Dynamite, while Apollo appeared in her VT.

In fact, there were so many celebs on show that fans wondered if they were "foreshadowing" next year's line-up! 

Or perhaps it's more of a wish list!

For now, though, we're still waiting to see who'll be coming back to dance next week, let alone next year!

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 fans love nothing more that spotting familiar faces in the audience each week.

So they were thrilled to spot not one, not two but THREE celebs cheering on one contestant this week!

And they were especially excited to see one controversial celeb back in the ballroom.

This Saturday it was movie week in the Strictly ballroom. We were treated to Sam Quek as Lara Croft, Shane Ward as Elvis, and Toyah Willcox as Ursula the sea witch from The Little Mermaid.

While head judge Shirley Ballas floated down from the studio ceiling as Mary Poppins!

JLS star JB Gill took to the floor with partner Amy Dowden, dancing to Pure Imagination from Wonka.

They wowed the judges with their American smooth, scooping 32 points.

And the fans loved it, too, saying they were "so good"!

But it wasn't just JB's fancy footwork that impressed the viewers. They were also thrilled to spot two of his JLS bandmates, and Saturdays star Rochelle Humes, in the crowd!

Fans were especially delighted to see Aston Merrygold cheering on JB. 

Aston took part in Strictly back in 2017. He was paired with Janette Manrara and was a fan fave from the start.

But Aston was eliminated earlier than fans thought he should have been, causing a fair bit of controversy at the time.

So the fans were delighted to see him back in the ballroom - even if he wasn't competing this time!

"Never forget," joked one fan, referencing Aston's early exit.

And Aston wasn't the only JLS star in the crowd. Marvin Humes was also there - along with his wife, Rochelle Humes.

Rochelle took part in the Christmas special episode of Strictly back in 2013 but it didn't go well! Judge Craig Revel Horwood said her dancing reminded him of a "drunken auntie"!

The fans were thrilled to see the JLS bandmates, and one excited viewer simply said: "Welcome back, JLS!"

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 fans have decided who they think should win this year's competition.

And it might not be who you expect! 

This week's episode hit our screens tonight with the first couple due to be eliminated in tomorrow's results show.

There were some brilliant performances with the first week-2 rumba for 15 years, a lot of great compliments from the judges, and a few tears of joy, too.

But it wasn't Tasha Ghouri's wonderful Viennese waltz, or Shayne Ward's brooding tango that thrilled the fans.

Comedian Chris McCausland's astonishing foxtrot with partner Dianne Buswell won loads of praise, and even caused the celebrity to trend on X for a while.

Despite all these noteworthy performances, though. The fans were united in talking about one thing.

Gorka Marquez's outfit!

Gorka is dancing with television presenter Dr Punam Krishan, who took him to her hone town of Glasgow this week. And as part of the Scottish experience, Gorka got to try on a kilt.

But while he undoubtedly looked VERY dashing in tartan, it was Gorka's dance outfit that really thrilled the fans.

He and Dr Punam danced a foxtrot this week, to the Shania Twain hit, Man! I Feel Like a Woman.

And Gorka's mesh T-shirt and PVC trousers sent him to the top of the trending topics on X as soon as he took to the dancefloor.

The fans absolutely LOVED it,

In fact, they declared whoever had dressed Gorka for tonight's show, the real winner!

Some flustered fans even said they needed a cold shower to recover from the sight of Gorka in his outfit! And others begged him to wear it again next week!

Phew!

The person who the fans want to thank is Strictly costume designer, Vicky Gill, who one delighted viewer said "should be knighted" for Gorka's outfit! 

Punam and Gorka are currently third from bottom of the leader board, but we all know that once the public start voting, anything can happen!

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 returned tonight with the first live show of the series! 

All the celebrity couples took to the floor - with mixed results! 

But it wasn't the first glimpse of their moves that got the fans talking. Instead it was presenter Claudia Winkleman that everyone was discussing. Or rather, it was her outfit.

Fans took to social media to make the same joke about Claudia's long flowing white dress, because they reckoned she looked just like Princess Leia from Star Wars!

Television presenter Dan Walker, who took part in Strictly back in 2021, pointed out the similarity.

"Full Princess Leia vibes from Claudia tonight," he wrote.

And he wasn't the only one to make the connection. "Claudia's Fashion Leia dress is everything," said another viewer. While more fans joked that it wasn't yet movie week!

Some of the fans showed off their knowledge of Star Wars to make affectionate gags about Claudia's gown. 

"When you have to present a dance show at 7 but are handing out medals to Rebels at 9," joked one viewer.

"Nice of Claudia to take a break from planning the Rebel Alliance's attack on the Death Star to present tonight's #Strictly," teased another.

And one fan pointed out that something funny was going on with the judges' scoring - and perhaps it was down to Claudia "causing a disturbance in the force". 

Because Craig Revel Horwood was softer on some celebs than the other judges!

None of the celebrities will be sent home this week. Instead the scores will be rolled over and added to next week's results.

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 is back! And the fans have already crowned their competition "queen".

Because pro dancer Amy Dowden has taken to the dancefloor after completing her treatment for breast cancer. 

Amy was diagnosed with cancer twice last year, but in February 2024, she announced there was "no evidence of disease" and she was returning to Strictly Come Dancing.

So the fans were thrilled to see her back where she belongs - and so were Amy's pro-dancer friends!

The show kicked off with a special dance putting Amy centre stage and celebrating her return to the Strictly ballroom.

The dance ended with an emotional moment as the pro-dancers all wrapped Amy in a huge hug! And the fans watching at home were just as teary as they applauded her bravery.

"Seeing Amy Dowden come back on the show after fighting and beating cancer is the best thing ever," said one chuffed fan.

While others admitted they'd been fighting tears watching Amy dance.

"Not me getting emotional at Amy's return," said one viewer, with another saying they were "welling up" at the brilliant opening dance.

And one pleased fan simply said: "Amy is QUEEN".

We couldn't agree more!

In tonight's launch show, we found out that Amy has been paired with JLS star JB Gill - much to her delight.

It just feels like my first year all over again. I just want JB to have the best time and fall in love with dancing," Amy said.

The first episode of Strictly Come Dancing 2024 will kick off the proceedings on Saturday, September 14, and this is the episode that'll introduce us to all of our contestants and prepare us for the weeks to come.

You'll be able to watch the episode at 7:20 pm on BBC One, and it will air until 9 pm. If you don't want to, or can't, watch the show on terrestrial TV, you can also watch BBC One live using the streaming service iPlayer. The episode will be available to watch after it's been broadcast on iPlayer.

Strictly Come Dancing is a highlight of the TV calendar each year, and now we have an official air date for the 2024 series. 

It has been announced by the BBC today, (Wednesday, September 4) that the launch show of Strictly Come Dancing 2024 will air on Saturday, September 14 at 19.20 on BBC1, with the show running for an hour and 40 minutes, finishing at 9pm. 

The launch of the 20th anniversary series will see celebrity contestants paired up with their professional dancing partner for the first time and we are also usually treated to a group dance ahead of the first live show, which traditionally airs the following weekend - although this is yet to be confirmed. 

We also know that we're in for a Strictly Come Dancing treat as dancers will perform a special and 'empowering' routine to celebrate Amy Dowden's return after she had to take a break from the show last year after being diagnosed with breast cancer.

The new trailer sees the Strictly professionals dancing on a bright pink party bus in all their glittery glory, with Aljaž in the driver's seat while everyone else is dancing in the background to the party tune We Like To Party! (The Vengabus) by Vengaboys.

The party bus makes a special stop to collect Amy and fellow Strictly dancer, Lauren Oakley. Later, the bus also opens its doors to collect Johannes Radebe and Carlos Gu, who are also waiting patiently for it to arrive.

This new trailer officially marks the start of the 22nd series of the BBC show, which will open with a launch show later this month. 

The first episode will see an opening number performed in the studio to a medley of We Like To Party, Baby Baby by Corona, Pump Up The Jam + Get Up (Before The Night Is Over) by Technotronic, Absolutely Everybody by Vanessa Amarosi, Get Ready For This by 2 Unlimited, Saturday Night by Whigfield and Ooh Ahh (Just A Little Bit) by Gina G. The performance will be choreographed by Jason Gilkison.

The BBC has confirmed that Strictly Come Dancing will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer in September 2024. 

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has hit back at the idea that the BBC show should be axed over a string of controversies.

With Strictly Come Dancing 2024 just around the corner, there's been talk that the series celebrating its 20th anniversary this year should be culled.

It's been in the firing line over controversies, including accusations by former contestant Amanda Abbington about the behaviour of her ex-pro dance partner Giovanni Pernice, which he has denied.

The BBC has launched an internal investigation into the controversies, with the results expected soon.

Talking to The Times, Craig hit back at axe talk, saying: "Ridiculous. It's a wonderful show that's in 61 countries. But yes, I, like everyone else, want to know the results of the investigation."

He added that he hoped to see the results of the investigation "sooner rather than later" so it's clear what happened.

This year's line-up has now been confirmed, with Miranda star Sarah Hadland, EastEnders actor Jamie Borthwick, DIY SOS host Nick Knowles, comedian Chris McCausland and Love Island star Tasha Ghouri, who's the current favourite to win the famous Glitterball trophy.

And Craig promises to point out their dance failings in just the way he's always done.

"I will always call it as I see it. A walrus is a walrus. A gazelle is a gazelle. Strictly is still a wonderful show and yes, let's see what issues need addressing, but let's also not forget the absolute joy it brings."

The judging panel for 2024 remains the same as last year with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Head Judge Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke all returning. We don't have a start date yet for the new series (see our TV guide for full listings]. Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are returning as co-presenters. Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola were crowned champions of Strictly Come Dancing last year.

The announcements for Strictly Come Dancing 2024 celebrities have begun, but it looks like we could also be adding a Coronation Street favourite to the list according to reports. 

Following a rumored line-up leak, The Sun has reported that we will be adding Coronation Street favourite Shayne Ward to the stars who have already been announced this week. 

So far, the BBC has revealed that comedian Chris McCausland, JLS star JB Gill, opera singer Wynne Evans, singer and actress Toyah Willcox, Morning Live GP Punam Krishan, Love Island 2022 star Tasha Ghouri and reality TV star Pete Wicks will officially be joining the show. 

Soap fans will remember Shayne as Coronation Street's factory boss Aidan Connor, who had a heartbreaking exit from the show back in 2018 when the character took his own life. 

Since then, singer, actor and former X-Factor winner Shayne has enjoyed huge success in Channel 5 crime drama The Good Ship Murder with ex-Coronation Street co-star Catherine Tyldesley.

Talking of Shayne's Strictly adventure, a source reportedly told The Sun: "Shayne is a previous winner of an audience-voted talent show so will have high hopes of doing it again. He is excited to begin training.

"He has some dancing experience so could be a contender for the glitterball trophy. He also has a whopping fan base from his years as a Coronation Street hunk."

Other names that have been linked to Strictly Come Dancing 2024 but are yet to be confirmed include EastEnders favorite Jamie Borthwick, DIY SOS star Nick Knowles and Tom Dean, who reportedly let slip that he will be in this year's line-up at the Paris Olympics after helping Team GB retain their men’s 4x200m freestyle title. 

According to PA news, Tom said: "Naturally you want to take a break after you've had a full Olympic cycle and the opportunity arose. I thought it would be really exciting to try something a bit different."

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 will start on BBC One next month. 

Just hours after we discovered that comedian Chris McCausland was the first celebrity contestant to be confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2024, we now have another name to add to this year's lineup. 

JLS singer, TV presenter, and author JB Gill will be swapping mud and wellies for lycra and glitter as he joins Chris on the dance floor when Strictly returns to our screens next month. 

Most viewers will know that JB rose to fame as a member of one of the UK’s biggest boybands – JLS, who have accumulated five number-one singles, over 10 million record sales worldwide and have won a multitude of awards. 

But JB is also an avid and award-winning farmer and was the lead presenter on CBeebies’ BAFTA-nominated television series, Down On The Farm, Channel 5’s On The Farm series, plus contributions to the BBC’s Countryfile and Springwatch. JB Gill has also been a part of the presenting team for BBC Songs of Praise since 2017 and has his own TV show Cooking With The Gills on Channel 5.

The news that JB would be dancing this year was announced by Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle on ITV1 show This Morning earlier today and comes after Olympic swimmer Tom Dean reportedly let slip that he was also part of this year's lineup last week. 

And this isn't the first time JB has shown off his fancy footwork on the Strictly dancefloor. Speaking of his time on the Christmas special, JB says: “I danced in the Strictly Christmas special over a decade ago and LOVED it, so when I got the call to join Strictly this year, it was an immediate yes from me. 

"I’m raring to go and looking forward to showing off some new skills to the JLS boys. From muddy wellies on the fields of my farm to sequins and Glitterballs - I’m here to embrace it all!”

The first official announcement for Strictly Come Dancing 2024 has arrived, and we now know that comedian Chris McCausland is the latest celebrity contestant confirmed for the brand-new series. 

While there has been plenty of speculation about who might be taking part in the dance competition this year, we have all been waiting for an official line from the BBC before the show returns to our screens next month. 

Chris, who suffers from the hereditary condition retinitis pigmentosa, lost his sight completely at 22 years old, making him the first blind contestant to appear on Strictly Come Dancing. 

Chris's news, which was announced by Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle on ITV1 show This Morning earlier today, comes after Olympic swimmer Tom Dean reportedly let slip that he was also part of this year's lineup last week. 

The show, which has been surrounded by a huge amount of press recently following allegations made by former celebrity contestants, promises to make this series an extra special one as Strictly celebrates two decades on our screens.

Chris McCausland has been a comedian for over two decades and is a regular face on flagship comedy shows like Have I Got News for You, Would I Lie to You?, QI, The Last Leg, and 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown.

He has appeared on Live at the Apollo three times, hosting in 2021, a year that also saw him make his highly acclaimed debut appearance on The Royal Variety Performance.

The 47-year-old star also hosts his Saturday morning ITV chat show called The Chris McCausland Show which is part of the ITV1 weekend line-up which includes Jimmy and Shivi’s Farmhouse Breakfast and he also recently turned up in an episode of Not Going Out.

Speaking of his new adventure, Chris says: "If anybody out there is thinking 'how the hell is he going to do that?' then rest assured that I am thinking exactly the same thing. I don't dance, I haven't danced, I can't dance, I can't see the dancing I will have to do. What can possibly go wrong? Ok, don't answer that...!”

Usually, the big reveal of which famous faces will be appearing on Strictly Come Dancing is a meticulously thought out process. But it seems British swimmer Tom Dean just couldn't wait to let everyone know that he will be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing 2024! 

With the new series landing on BBC One next month it isn't long before we will have the official celebrity announcements, which are usually made by the BBC on TV or radio shows.

But Tom has already let slip that he will be in this year's Strictly Come Dancing line-up, something he reportedly revealed at the Paris Olympics earlier this week after helping Team GB retain their men’s 4x200m freestyle title.

According to PA news, Tom said: "Naturally you want to take a break after you've had a full Olympic cycle and the opportunity arose. I thought it would be really exciting to try something a bit different."

Swimming legend Tom will follow in the footsteps of his fellow Team GB teammate Adam Peaty, who finished ninth on Strictly Come Dancing 2021, alongside his professional partner Katya Jones.

While the BBC is yet to confirm Tom's appearance, he isn't the first celebrity to be linked to this year's show. DIY SOS star Nick Knowles has also been hinted to be taking part, along with Ted Lasso star Hannah Waddingham and former Arsenal player and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson.

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 will return to our screens in September on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. 

Dancing On Ice judge Oti Mabuse has been spotted leaving Strictly Come Dancing 2024 rehearsals after leaving the show back in 2022. 

Oti, who has gone on to appear in a whole host of other TV shows including Morning Live, The Oti Mabuse Breakfast Show and The Masked Dancer, appeared on Strictly for seven years as a professional dancer between 2015 and 2022. 

The professional dancer was paired with celebrities including former Hollyoaks star Danny Mac and Anthony Ogogo and won the show with Emmerdale star Kelvin Fletcher in 2019. In 2020 was crowned winner for the second consecutive year with comedian Bill Bailey.

However, there is bad news for Strictly fans hoping that her return to the Strictly dance rehearsals might mean she's back on the show, as she was reportedly just there as a choreographer according to The Sun. 

There have been many rumours over the years about Oti returning to Strictly Come Dancing, especially as her sister, Motsi Mabuse, remains part of the judging panel for the show. 

Oti, who welcomed a baby daughter into the world in November 2023, has remained part of the Strictly family by regularly appearing in the audience of the live shows and offering her choreography skills to many of the group dances. 

Strictly Come Dancing is set to return to our screens in September, despite the recent controversy surrounding the show which has seen professional dancers Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima both leave the series. 

The series is celebrating its 20th year on our screens this year, and while we are still waiting for the official celebrity lineup to be announced, it has been rumoured that DIY SOS star Nick Knowles is one of the famous faces who could be taking to the dance floor in this year's competition.

Strictly Come Dancing 2024's next celebrity name has been 'revealed' as DIY SOS legend Nick Knowles. 

According to reports, Nick is one of the famous faces who will be donning fake tan and lycra before stepping onto the famous dancefloor this year amid the recent scandal that has hit the show. 

A source allegedly told The Sun that Nick has been in talks with the BBC about being on Strictly for months and that he has now finally signed on the dotted line. 

The source revealed: "Nick has always loved Strictly and he is so excited. He’s got a great personality, is incredibly driven and competitive and is up for giving anything a crack. He’s going on the show to entertain and to win. He’ll give it his best shot.”

This isn't the first time that the TV star has joined some of the Strictly team on a show. Last year he joined series judge Anton Du Beke and professional dancers Katya Jones and Luba Mushtuk for a special Strictly Come Dancing-themed edition of his hit renovation show DIY SOS. 

Other names that have been linked to the show for this year's series include EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick, who plays popular character Jay Brown in the soap. 

Jamie is no stranger to the Strictly dancefloor, having won the Strictly Come Dancing 2023 Christmas Special when he was partnered with professional dancer Nancy Xu and danced a very impressive Quickstep. Judges were blown away by his performance, and there are now rumours that he will be signing up for the main show this year. 

One other celebrity who has been hinted to be joining the series is Grace Keeling, a social media star who is known online as GK Barry. 

It is thought we should get an official announcement from the BBC about this year's line up in the coming weeks. Usually, we hear who will be taking part in August, with the show then landing on our screens in September.

Ex-Strictly Come Dancing judge Arlene Phillips says she can never forgive the BBC for the way she was controversially axed from the show.

When the series launched in 2004, Arlene was appointed as a judge with Craig Revel-Horwood, Bruno Tonioli, and Len Goodman. Over the next five series, she was much-loved by audiences in the way she critiqued celebrities competing to win that coveted glitterball trophy. 

However, Arlene's Strictly journey came to a hugely controversial end in 2008 when she was replaced by former champion Alesha Dixon. Now Arlene has said she can't forgive the BBC for the decision but she has been able to move on with her life.

Speaking to The Mirror, she said: "Accepted but not forgiven. Yes, I have moved on. I suppose it is something to rejoice, and I can always remind myself, I was there at the pilot, when nobody ever thought this show was going to be a show. And to be the first female judge, there's a lot of accolades I could give myself."

The decision to axe Arlene, now 81, and replace her with Alesha Dixon now 45, led to accusations that the Beeb was being ageist. It caused a huge media storm at the time.

Arlene also spoke about working with Andrew Lloyd Webber for the musical "Starlight Express", which is being shown in London. "This show is so of its time. It always was….musically it was driving so many musical genres and again there's more new ideas and it has always been a show that Andrew has never backed off from. He has always found new ways and new ideas to bring into this musical.”

Arlene has made a host of different TV appearances since leaving Strictly including appearing on I'm A Celebrity. She was on the 2021 edition becoming the oldest contestant on the ITV reality hit. She was a judge on the show So You Think You Can Dance? and was a guest judge on Dancing on Ice.

Giovanni Pernice has been notably left off the 2024 professional dancers line-up for Strictly Come Dancing 2024, confirming that he has left the show. 

The official lineup of professional dancers for the show's 20th anniversary year has been announced today (Monday, June 10) with the news all four judges, Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Craig Revel-Horwood and Anton Du Beke will also be returning for the new series. 

However, Giovanni, who's faced allegations about his teaching methods — which he has rejected — against him from some of his former dance partners, won't be joining Strictly Come Dancing for the show's milestone birthday.

During his time on the show, Giovanni lifted the Glitterball in 2021 alongside former EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis, and made it to the final in 2015 with Georgia May Foote, in 2017 with Debbie McGee and in 2018 with Faye Tozer.

Some of his other partners have included Laura Whitmore, Michelle Visage, Ranvir Singh and, most recently, Amanda Abbington.

The official lineup of professional dancers for 2024 instead includes Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Graziano Di Prima, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vito Coppola.

It has also been confirmed that Tess Daly, who has presented the show ever since it started back in 2004, and Claudia Winkleman will be on presenting duties once again, while the show will also return to the iconic Tower Ballroom in Blackpool. 

Sarah James, Executive Producer says: “This year Strictly marks two decades of entertaining the nation and we will be back with a bang in September as we celebrate in style with our incredible team both on and off screen.”

While we are still waiting to see which celebrities will be taking to the dancefloor, it has been revealed that the show will once again return to our screens in September, so we shouldn't have too much longer before the names are announced.

Strictly Come Dancing star Giovanni Pernice has reportedly been lined up for I'm A Celebrity 2024.

Giovanni has been a professional dancer on Strictly since 2016 and won for the first time in 2021 with EastEnders star Rose Ayling-Ellis.

Now, the Italian dancer could be swapping the ballroom for the jungle as I'm A Celebrity bosses are said to be desperate for him to join the show.

A source told The Sun: "Giovanni would be perfect for the jungle. ITV bosses have wanted him for years and now he is finally free. Everyone is really eager to get him on board - he really would be ideal for those jungle showers.

"They are expected to offer him big money and he's unlikely to turn it down really. He'll have finished touring and will have those months free now he's not doing Strictly. It's definitely a very tempting offer and will be surprise if he turns it down."

Outside of the ballroom, Giovanni and his Strictly co-star Anton Du Beke went to Italy for their travel show Anton & Giovanni's Adventures in Sicily.

The pair then joined forces once again and headed to Spain for Anton and Giovanni's Adventures in Spain.

Giovanni is rumoured to be leaving Strictly to "focus on other TV projects," with a source telling the publication: "He wants to focus on other TV projects, and feels he’s achieved all he can on Strictly, having won the trophy back in 2021 and reaching the final an unprecedented four times.

“He has a lot of other exciting projects in the pipeline right now, and he’s just super-excited to get cracking on them. This, now, is his priority.”

If Giovanni were to appear on I'm A Celebrity, he would be following in the footsteps of former Strictly professionals Vincent Simone, Ola Jordan, AJ Pritchard, Camilla Dallerup and ex Strictly judge Arlene Phillips.

Strictly Come Dancing is marking its 20th anniversary today, Wednesday, May 15, with the exciting news there will be a special episode airing later this year. 

The unmissable one-off show will land on BBC One and BBC iPlayer to celebrate two decades of glitz, glamour and memorable moves. 

The BBC has promised a show-stopping spectacular featuring iconic performances and plenty of heart-warming interviews with past celebrity stars, professional dancers and judges, all to celebrate the global phenomenon that Strictly has become. 

Since the first episode debuted on BBC One on the evening of Saturday, May 15, 2004, Strictly Come Dancing has gone on to become a critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning hit, with the most recent win coming at the weekend as the show won in the Best Entertainment category for the third time at the BAFTA TV Awards 2024. 

Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC says: "Strictly Come Dancing is more than just a TV show, it has become an integral part of British culture, bringing families together and inspiring viewers of all ages to embrace the joy of dance.

While we don't have a release date for the new show yet, we do know that Strictly Come Dancing 2024 is coming back to BBC One in the autumn with a new celebrity line up. So while we might have a bit of a wait to see who we will be adding to our Strictly Come Dancing winners list, at least we have this spin-off to look forward to in the meantime.

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 might be months away, but reports suggest a senior member of the Royal Family could be interested in taking part.

The iconic BBC dancing competition has welcomed plenty of famous faces to the coveted dancefloor, but a Royal has not yet joined the line-up. However, that could all change if recent reports are anything to go by.

Strictly pro Nadiya Bychkova, who has previously been paired with celebrities such as Dan Walker and Lee Ryan, has teased that Princess Anne has expressed an interest in competing.

The Princess Royal is no stranger to competition, having taken part in a number of equestrian sporting events over the years, so could she be trying her hand at a dancing competition next?

Nadiya Bychkova told The Sun: "I met her at a ballet event. She is a Strictly fan and she wants to go on the show — she told me. She did say that. I think she would be good, there’s a lot of personality there, isn’t there?"

In addition to this, The Sun suggests that the Royals are such huge viewers that there have been discussions to film the series at Buckingham Palace.

Nadiya added: “They love it and they watch it all the time. Whenever you see royals at events, they all know what’s going on. I’m not from this country so I don’t know all the royal etiquette, but you learn through situations, and I just try to be as respectful as I can when I meet the royals. It just blows your mind to think how big this show is.”

Additionally, Nadiya said she may even suggest Anne to the producers, because the professionals sometimes get to say who they'd like to see taking part.

She explained: "We get that privilege, and because of the show, we end up in circles with celebrities who love Strictly."

Right now, we have no official confirmation for who will be taking part in Strictly Come Dancing 2024, and it is expected that we will have to wait until much later in the year to find out who'll be performing.

JB was paired with Amy Dowden MBE for the first half of the series, however, Amy was forced to pull out of the series for Icons Week after sustaining a foot injury, which will mean she misses the rest of the series. JB is now dancing with Lauren Oakley.

Wynne Evans - eighth to leave

Wynne Evans, best known for his operatic skills, was the third celebrity to be revealed for the 2024 series. Throughout his 25-year career Wynne has had two number-one classical music albums, has been a principal at most of the major opera houses around the world and has given over 200 performances at the Royal Albert Hall in London. Wynne currently has a daily radio show on BBC Radio Wales and has previously had radio shows on BBC Radio 3 and Classic FM.

Speaking of joining Strictly Wynne says: “I am honestly still pinching myself, a portly balding opera singer, me, taking part in Strictly Come Dancing?! I’m not entirely sure how I’ll get along, if all else fails I’ll just have to learn the art of distraction. What I do know is I will give it my all and aim to make Wales proud. I’m definitely going to try and combine my love of Opera into one of my routines. Plus, after winning Celebrity MasterChef last year, maybe the route to the judges’ hearts will be through their stomachs!”

Wynne Evans was dancing with Katya Jones and when asked by Claudia how he was feeling about finding out who is Professional Dancer is Wynne said “I didn’t have a clue who I was going to get. Obviously, I’m older so I didn’t know who would take me on as it were, then we went to the venue and in walks the cockney Russian!”

Wynne and Katya left the show in Blackpool Week after finding themselves in the dance-off against Montell and Johannes. Speaking of his exit, Wynne said: "It's been wonderful, I've got to say. I feel like it's what Strictly is all about. If I can come and do Strictly and last until week nine, then anybody can get out there and dance."

Toyah Willcox - second to leave 

Singer and actress Toyah Willcox was the fourth celebrity to be revealed. Toyah has been performing across stage and screen for over 50 years. She is an award-winning rock legend with hit singles like ‘It's A Mystery’, ‘I Want to Be Free’ and ‘Brave New World’ and played at this year’s Glastonbury Festival with her husband, Robert Fripp. She has amassed thirteen top 40 singles, recorded twenty-five albums, written two books, appeared in over forty stage plays, acted in over twenty feature films and presented many television programmes.

Toyah was partnered with Neil Jones and became the second celebrity to leave the show, exiting in Movie Week. Speaking of her departure she said: "I was not off first, which meant a lot to me. I've had the most brilliant, life-affirming experience in the last two months. I'm in a good place, really good place."

Punam Krishan - fifth to leave

Punam Krishan, a resident GP on BBC Morning Live and BBC Radio Scotland, is the fifth celebrity to be announced for the show. Alongside being a practicing NHS GP, Punam regularly reports on health news as a broadcaster on TV, radio and national newspapers and has also written her own children’s book with additional books in the pipeline.

Speaking of joining Strictly, Punam says: “This still doesn’t feel real, I am overjoyed to be a contestant on this year’s show. I have watched Strictly every year with my family and it feels extra special that it’s the 20th year, I can’t believe I will be the one getting Strictly-fied now. This is so out of my comfort zone, but I’m up for the journey and will give it my absolute all.”

Dr Punam is dancing with Gorka Márquez, who has scored more tens than any other Professional Dancer currently on the show. On her pairing, Punam said: “Oh I'm absolutely buzzing. I think we are the perfect pairing. I feel honoured, because you've got so many years of experience. I can't wait to take you up north to bonnie Scotland.”

Tasha Ghouri - finalist

The sixth celebrity announced for this year's lineup is Tasha Ghouri and the news was announced on the Kiss FM Breakfast Show. Tasha is a model and TV personality who is passionate about raising awareness for the deaf community. She appeared on Love Island 2022, and since then has amassed a following of over 2.2 million across her social media network. Tasha has worked with Number 10 Downing Street, The Department of Education and MED-AL to champion issues close to her heart. She is a published author with her debut novel 'Hits Different' and has her own podcast, 'Superpowers with Tasha'.

Talking about joining Strictly Tasha says: “Pinch me, I can't believe I'm going to be on Strictly Come Dancing! I’ve been watching the show since I was little – it's a firm Ghouri family favourite - so this is a total dream come true. I know it's going to be an unforgettable experience and I hope to represent and make everyone proud out on that dancefloor.”

Tasha is paired with Aljaž Škorjanec - who is back after a two-year hiatus. She said: “I am absolutely ecstatic! He’s so fun – chaos, but I love a bit of chaos energy. Honestly, we mesh so well, and I’m so excited. He’s already teaching me little moves, and I’m trying to keep up, but I’ve got a very good one here.”

Pete Wicks - eleventh to leave

Pete Wicks is celebrity number 7. Pete is best known for his television appearances and presenting including on the red carpet at the BRIT Awards, Pride of Britain Awards and National Television Awards. Pete first appeared on our screens on the BAFTA award-winning ITV show TOWIE in 2015. Alongside this Pete Wicks co-hosts the award-nominated podcast ‘Staying Relevant’ which has had over 5 million downloads to date and has been number one in the comedy charts numerous times.

Pete says: “Dancing live in front of the nation every Saturday? Absolutely terrifying. But anyone who knows me knows I love a challenge and trying new things, so I'm genuinely looking forward to getting stuck in.”

Pete Wicks was dancing with Jowita Przystał. When asked if having Jowita by his side makes it all worthwhile, Pete enthusiastically responded, “Oh, 100%! The little pocket rocket? I’ve got this in the bag now, I’ve changed my mind – I’m going to win it.”

Pete and Jowita left the show in the semi-finals after facing Tasha in the dance-off after weeks of saying he wasn't the best dancer but thanking fans for keeping him in the show for so long. Speaking of his exit, Pete said: "The past 3-4 months have been nothing short of incredible. I spent 12 weeks saying my time in the show was gonna be over and each week I was wrong… until now."

Shayne Ward - seventh to leave 

Coronation Street favourite Shayne Ward is the eighth contestant confirmed.

Soap fans will remember Shayne as factory boss Aidan Connor, who had a heartbreaking exit from the show back in 2018 when the character took his own life. Talking of his Strictly adventure, he says: "I'm buzzing to see all of the sparkles and magic that is Strictly in real life. I’m no stranger to live TV, but dancing Latin and Ballroom in front of millions is a whole new level. No promises on my dancing ability, but I will give it my best shot!"

Shayne Ward was paired with Nancy Xu but sadly left the show just ahead of Blackpool after finding himself in the dance-off against Wynne and Katya. Speaking of his exit, Shayne said: "I'm going to miss it. I'm going to miss Nancy so much. It's amazing just to see how far we've come together and how she was able to turn these two left feet into one left and one right!"

Sarah Hadland - finalist

Sarah Hadland, who is best known as Stevie Sutton in beloved BBC sitcom Miranda, is the ninth contestant announced. Sarah is about to star in BBC Three sitcom Daddy Issues and has starred in countless other shows including The Job Lot, Waterloo Road, and That Mitchell & Webb Look.

Sarah says: "I cannot believe I am part of Strictly! I feel particularly excited to be part of such an iconic show in its 20th year. I’m so ready for the glitz, glam and glitter and hopefully I can make everyone watching at home proud!"

Sarah is paired with reigning Strictly champion, Vito Coppola. She said: “I am a [Strictly] superfan, I’d be taking it very seriously if I was at home! Depending on which WhatsApp group I was with, you wouldn’t be able to talk during the dances, that’s a very strict rule. You just have to be making lots of mental notes, lots of predictions!”

Jamie Borthwick - ninth to leave 

EastEnders star Jamie Borthwick, who plays the popular character Jay Brown in the soap, was the 10th star announced.

Jamie is no stranger to the Strictly dancefloor, having won the Strictly Come Dancing 2023 Christmas Special when he was partnered with professional dancer Nancy Xu and danced a very impressive Quickstep. Judges were blown away by his performance.

Jamie says: "I had a ball doing the Strictly Christmas special last year, so when I was asked to join for this series it was the easiest yes! This is a fresh challenge and it will be so different to be learning a new dance every week and for the public to have their say!"

Jamie was partnered with professional dancer Michelle Tsiakkas but the pair became the ninth couple to leave the show after they faced the dance-off against Montell and her partner Johannes, narrowly missing out on a place in the quarter-finals.

Tom Dean - first to leave 

Tom Dean let slip that he will be in this year's Strictly Come Dancing line-up at the Paris Olympics after helping Team GB retain their men’s 4x200m freestyle title. According to PA news, Tom said: "Naturally you want to take a break after you've had a full Olympic cycle and the opportunity arose. I thought it would be really exciting to try something a bit different."

Swimming legend Tom follows in the footsteps of his fellow Team GB teammate Adam Peaty, who finished ninth on Strictly Come Dancing 2021, alongside his professional partner Katya Jones.

Tom was dancing with Nadiya Bychkova but sadly became the first celebrity to leave the show, much to the outrage of viewers. Speaking of his exit Tom said: "I've had the best time [over] the last few weeks and getting to work with Nadiya has been incredible. I've had the most fun and I wish we could keep going longer and longer."

Montell Douglas - tenth to leave

Montell Douglas, who is better known as Fire in the BBC hit show Gladiators, is the twelfth celebrity contestant confirmed.

Montell has an impressive CV before joining the Saturday night family show. The star made sporting history by becoming the first female UK athlete to compete at both the Summer and Winter Olympics as part of Team GB as both a sprinter and a bobsledder.

Montell says: "Strictly ARE YOU READY, Fire is here to light up the Ballroom. Wow I am so honoured to have been asked to do the show. It is such an amazing thing to be a part of and I can’t wait to get started. Hopefully a few of my Gladiator moves will come in handy with the Tango or Paso Doble!"

Montell was paired with Johannes Radebe however after facing the dance off a few times, they eventually left the show after going head to head with Tasha and Aljaž. Montell and Johannes performed their Rumba to I’m Here from the musical The Color Purple. Then, Tasha and Aljaž performed their Argentine Tango to Ex-Wives from Six - the judges saves Tasha and sadly Montell's time on the show came to an end.

Nick Knowles - third to leave

Nick Knowles has been officially confirmed as the 13th star taking part after weeks of stories he was in the new series. He's best known for fronting DIY SOS but will his dancing skills need a dramatic makeover?

Nick says: "I'm so, so excited to be doing Strictly this year. People may be more used to me getting stuck in on a building site or travelling the world, but dancing live on TV will be a whole new adventure. I've spent my whole life learning new skills and I've never been afraid of a challenge — there's life in the old dog yet to take on one more big one — being taught how to dance! I'll give it my everything .... and try not to embarrass my kids of course!"

Nick is dancing with Luba Mushtuk. When asked if he thought they would be a good match, Nick said, “Yes, absolutely. I wanted someone who’d be patient. She’s a world-class dancer, so how can it possibly go wrong? Although, it’s a bit like taking an F1 world champion and putting them in a beaten-up old builder’s van to race....we’ll see how it goes. I have had a bit of bodywork done, though – a spray paint, literally.”

Paul Merson - fourth to leave 

Former Arsenal player and Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson is the 14th star confirmed. Paul says: "Joining Strictly is a whole new ball game for me, but I'm going to tackle this challenge head on. I'm ready to swap the pitch for the Ballroom floor, so here's hoping my two left feet can learn some moves and you never know, maybe I’ll be taking home the Glitterball Trophy!"

Paul was dancing with Karen Hauer. When asked about his pairing, Paul responded, “Yeah, I’m well happy. So pleased. You’ve put the two oldest together… and I’m one of them!”

Sam Quek - sixth to leave 

Sam Quek, the final star confirmed, rose to fame as part of Team GB's hockey team when she won a gold medal at the Rio 2016 Olympics. Since then she has appeared on I'm a Celebrity, Celebrity MasterChef and was a captain on BBC quiz show Question of Sport. Sam says: "As a former hockey player I'm used to playing as part of a team, but the thought of dancing on the Ballroom floor in front of a live audience is quite daunting! I’m chuffed to be a part of this legendary show and Quickstep into the shoes of a performer, it feels absolutely surreal but I’m ready for every bit of the adventure."

Sam was dancing with Nikita Kuzmin. Tess asked her what viewers can expect from her as a dancer, Sam said: “I’m so nervous. I’ve never felt nerves like it. It’s the unknown. Look at me, this isn’t me. I didn’t recognise myself in the mirror!” Nikita said: “Everybody spoke of Sam so well. She’s so lovely and she’s so caring, I cannot wait to start.”

Who has left Strictly Come Dancing 2025 so far? 

First to leave - Tom Dean
Strictly fans were left stunned when three-time Olympic champion Tom Dean and his professional dancing partner Nadiya Bychkova became the first couple to leave the show after facing Toyah Willcox and her partner Neil Jones. Speaking of his exit Tom said: "I've had the best time [over] the last few weeks and getting to work with Nadiya has been incredible. I've had the most fun and I wish we could keep going longer and longer. We'll still go out for loads of brunches, I'm sure."

Second to leave - Toyah Wilcox
Toyah and Neil became the second couple to leave the show, exiting in Movie Week. Speaking of her departure she said: "I was not off first, which meant a lot to me. I've had the most brilliant, life-affirming experience in the last two months. I'm in a good place, really good place."

Third to leave - Nick Knowles
After sustaining various injuries, Nick and Luba ended up being the third couple to leave the show after coming up against Shayne and Nancy in the dance off where they performed their Charleston to Rain on the Roof from the film Paddington 2 again. Nick said: “I've really, really been surprised by how much I've loved doing it and by two things that happen. One is how much you care each week, and the other is how much you don’t want to let down your partner. The only reason I could do this is simply because of Luba’s changes, she's been amazing.”

Fourth to leave - Paul Merson
Despite dancing well in the dance-off against JB Gill, Paul and his dance partner Karen Hauer became the fourth couple to leave the show. Paul told Tess: "It's been really good. For anybody I talk to, I would say you've got to go on this show. It's amazing - everybody. There's a Tottenham fan over there called Lincoln and even he's nice! It's been amazing, honestly, amazing. I loved every minute of it, I've had a great teacher. She’s been amazing, absolutely amazing and I couldn't wish for a better coach. I’ve loved every minute of it. I can dance now - I've won because I can dance, I couldn't dance before and I can half dance now. It's a bonus, absolute bonus."

Fifth to leave - Dr Punam Krishan
She failed to survive a dance-off with Shayne Ward and departed during Halloween week. "It's been nice for my patients to see another side to me, we're not just those serious people who sit at the other side of the consultation table," she said.

Sixth to leave - Sam Quek
Despite not being at the bottom of the leaderboard, Sam found herself in the dance-off against Montel during Icons Week. The judges saved Montel and so Sam and Nikita became the next couple to leave the show. Speaking of her departure she said: “I’m mega proud but I still wasn’t ready to go – I feel like I could’ve given more. But that’s the nature of the competition." With Nikita adding: "From our side, the most important thing was seeing Sam improve each week and dance her heart out,” he said. "Strictly is about putting yourself out there. Obviously, we went home so it’s not such a happy ending but I’m still mega proud.”

Seventh to leave - Shayne Ward
After finding himself in the dance-off against Wynne and Katya, Shane became the next celebrity to leave the show - just missing out on Blackpool Week. Speaking on Strictly - It Takes Two, Shayne told Fleur East of the moment the judges were casting their votes: “Weirdly enough I kind of felt like this was it. One thing that Nancy would always say to me is just never give up which I didn’t, and we knew we were going to give it our all. I always turn to Nancy and say, ‘it’s gonna be OK' but yeah, it's a sad ending.”

Eighth to leave - Wynne Evans
After facing Montell and Johannes in the dance-off, Wynne left Strictly in Blackpool Week. "It's been wonderful, I've got to say. I feel like it's what Strictly is all about. If I can come and do Strictly and last until week nine, then anybody can get out there and dance." Katya added: "The smile hasn't left my face since the first day of our training, since the day we got partnered up. I'm sure everybody was jealous because you're the kind of guy that everybody wants in their life. You bring light, you bring laughter, you bring charisma, you fill up every room you walk into with those qualities."

Ninth to leave - Jamie Borthwick
Jamie and Michelle became the ninth couple to leave the show after they faced the dance-off against Montell and her partner Johannes, narrowly missing out on a place in the quarter-finals. Jamie was gracious in his defeat, telling Tess: "Strictly is magic. That is all I can say. Strictly is magic. Not just everyone who you see in front of the camera, these four here [the judges], but everyone who works on this show".

Tenth to leave - Montell Douglas
Montell and Johannes became the tenth couple to leave the show, narrowly missing out of a place in the semi-finals after dancing their Rumba to I’m Here from the musical The Color Purple. They faced Tasha and Aljaž in the dance-off, but the judges decided to save Tasha. Speaking of her time on Strictly Montell said: "There is so much I want to say, so many people I want to thank, I'm so overwhelmed with how to get it all out. My heart is so FULL."

Eleventh to leave - Pete Wicks
Pete and Jowita left the show in the semi-finals after facing Tasha in the dance-off after weeks of saying he wasn't the best dancer but thanking fans for keeping him in the show for so long. Speaking of his exit, Pete said: "The past 3-4 months have been nothing short of incredible. I spent 12 weeks saying my time in the show was gonna be over and each week I was wrong… until now. I couldn’t be happier with the way it ended, there is no one I would have rather been in a dance-off with than Tasha. She is the most beautiful dancer, the most beautiful person inside and out and I’m so proud of her for making the final because she deserves it so much."

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 theme weeks 

As always Strictly Come Dancing 2024 will feature the show's iconic themed weeks, including Movies week, which we watched on Saturday, October 5, Blackpool week and Musicals week. We also usually get treated to a Halloween themed week as well.

However, this year there will be a new theme added to the series to celebrate twenty iconic years of Strictly Come Dancing. A new special week called ‘Icons Week’ will be shimmying onto screens on Saturday, November 2.

In this brand-new special week, which will be part of this series and beyond, the remaining couples will take to the Ballroom floor to honour music icons. Our Strictly Come Dancing stars will pay tribute to some of the most recognisable and influential people in the music industry and this new week will be dedicated to music legends from across the decades.

Marking the debut of ‘Icons Week’ during the Results Show on Sunday, November 3 the Professional Dancers will perform a dazzling Beyoncé medley, with Johannes Radebe channelling his inner Sasha Fierce as the protagonist in the routine. Expect bejewelled cowboy hats, power ballad moves and sparkling sass!

Strictly Come Dancing 2024 professional dancers 

The show's Professional Dancers will once again dazzle viewers with their extraordinary talent and choreography. This year we will see the return of Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez, Luba Mushtuk, Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vito Coppola.

The good news for Strictly viewers is that fan favorite Aljaž Škorjanec has returned to the Strictly Come Dancing Ballroom as a Professional Dancer for the brand-new series after two years away from the show.

There are a few names missing from the lineup for 2024 with Giovanni Pernice and Graziano Di Prima both leaving the show. Both professional dancers have recently faced allegations from some of their former partners about their teaching methods. Giovanni has always rejected the claims and in September he was officially cleared of the most serious allegations made against him.

Of course, the multi-award-winning competition is not complete without its fabulous judges.

The judging panel for 2024 remains the same as last year with Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Head Judge Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke all returning.

Who won Strictly Come Dancing 2023?

Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola were crowned champions of Strictly Come Dancing 2023 on Saturday, December 16, 2023. The couple won the hearts of the nation with their infectious friendship and positive nature, and bowled the judges over with their performances each week - no mean feat considering Ellie had never danced before starting the show back in September!

Ellie and Vito reached the final where they battled it out for the glitterball trophy against Bobby and Dianne and Layton and Nikita. They danced an American Smooth to Robbie Williams’ cover of Ain’t That a Kick in the Head, a paso doble to Insomnia by 2WEI, and their show dance to a Jennifer Lopez megamix, with the public deciding they should be the very worthy 2023 winners.

Strictly Come Dancing favourites Anton Du Beke and Giovanni Pernice are heading back to our screens with their latest travel show, Anton and Giovanni’s Adventures in Spain — and now we finally have an air date. 

The cheeky duo took viewers traveling with them last year in Anton and Giovanni's Adventures in Sicily where they spent time sampling the local delights of Gio's home island, taking in the stunning scenery, as well as getting into many scrapes and even finding themselves on the wrong side of the law!  

But this time it is Anton's turn to become the tour guide for the series as he introduces Giovanni to a place that he fell in love with as a child. 

Having spent his school summer holidays with his Spanish family in the North of the country, Anton is very excited for Giovanni to experience everything Spain has to offer from surfing to sangrias and from festivals to flamencos!

After the second series of the travel show was announced last year, we have got an air date for Anton and Giovanni’s Adventures in Spain at last, and with the show airing on BBC One on Monday, March 18, 2024, at 9pm we really don't have that long to wait. 

After the mischief that the pair got up to last series, there will no doubt be plenty of mayhem to come and with three episodes of the series to enjoy, we have got a lot to look forward to. 

As well as getting a sneaky peak into Giovanni's life in Sicily last year, from where he grew up to meeting his family, one thing fans really enjoyed in the last season was seeing Anton and Gio's friendship shine though as they went on a tour around the island. With Anton now showing Gio where he spent his childhood, we can't wait to find out more about the dancing duo. 

Anton and Giovanni’s Adventures in Spain will air on Monday, March 18 at 9pm on BBC One. The episodes will then air weekly in the same slot and will also be available on BBC iPlayer. 

The lineup for Strictly Come Dancing 2024 has not yet been revealed, but sources suggest that Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz could be joining the show.

A source reportedly told The Sun: "Brooklyn and Nicola are very glam and perfectly fit the profile for the kind of celebs who bosses are after. They’d love to get Brooklyn on the show as he is immediately recognizable to Strictly’s core audience."

They went on to explain why bosses might want the two of them, and not just one, telling the site: "Nicola would be brilliant, but she’s still not very well known [in the UK] despite being the daughter-in-law of our most famous celebrity couple. So to get them on the same show, competing against each other — that would be a producer’s dream."

Elsewhere, another source focused on Nicola told The Sun: "Nicola is known in the US but over in the UK she’s at the bottom of the publicity pecking order in Brooklyn’s famous family.

"She has a team behind her who are keen on boosting her profile over here — and Brooklyn is right behind her. Strictly has been mooted as the perfect show for Nicola.

According to their report, "bosses are in the early stages of preliminary meetings", and they have not yet reached out to any potential names who could be joining the Strictly Come Dancing 2024 line-up.

We've had plenty of firsts for Strictly in recent years, with TV presenter Zara McDermott becoming the first Love Island star to take part, and former Come Dancing presenter Angela Rippon joining at the age of 79. 

It is too early to know who'll be taking to the dancefloor in the autumn, we should start to learn more about this year's competition over the coming months. Strictly Come Dancing usually returns in September.

Former Strictly Come Dancing professional Robin Windsor has died aged 44, with Emmerdale star Lisa Riley among many paying moving tributes.

Riley wrote on Twitter: "My Bestie, My Robin, My Angel... now our forever Angel, who is loved, will always be loved, forever in my heart. I love you, shine your beautiful, electric energy from heaven. SHINE IN PEACE."

The star's death was announced in a statement from Sisco Entertainment, who produced the star's latest project, Come What May, a Moulin Rouge tribute show. It read: "His extraordinary ability to express emotion through movement captivated audiences, leaving them spellbound with every step. 

"Beyond his impeccable dancing, Robin's vibrant spirit lit up the room, infusing rehearsals and performances with infectious energy and warmth. 

"His laughter was contagious, his kindness boundless. His friendship was a gift cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Robin, you will be deeply missed."

Susanna Reid, who was partnered with Windsor for the 2011 Strictly Come Dancing Children in Need Special, also paid tribute to the star on today's episode of Good Morning Britain.

"Robin was larger than life and I fell in love with him and fell in love with dancing when I danced with him back then", Susanna said.

“He was an absolutely remarkable dancer — incredibly strong, so creative. He's just so enthusiastic about dancing. I just adored him. He was the most incredible personality and as soon as I danced with him, there was something very special about him.

"I fell in love with Robin, I fell in love with Strictly — he ignited that passion, as he would have done with every single one of his celebrity partners, all of whom will be feeling devastated, as will his professional partners. It's devastating news this morning."

Robin Windsor was born in Ipswich, Suffolk, and began dancing at the age of three when his parents enrolled him in classes, per his website. Aged 15, he moved to London to pursue a dance career and went to represent England at domestic and international championships. He took part in the main Strictly show from 2010 until 2013, where he was partnered with Patsy Kensit, Anita Dobson, Lisa Riley, and Deborah Meaden.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood released a statement about Windsor's passing, writing: "I have just heard the tragic news my dear friend 'Bobby' Robin Windsor has passed. He was one of the kindest, gentle, honest, funny and caring people I've had the pleasure of knowing and working with. He will be forever missed. My heart goes out to all his family and friends. RIP darling man, you were truly loved x."

Ellie Leach has revealed she is taking to the stage in a brand new role, after being crowned the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2023.

The former Coronation Street actress will make her stage debut in Cluedo 2 - The Next Chapter, which is based on the popular family board game where players are tasked with solving a murder.

Ellie will star in the role of Miss Scarlett, replacing fellow ex-Coronation Street star Helen Flanagan, who was "advised to withdraw" from the play due to medical reasons, according to reports.

Confirming the news, Ellie said in a statement: "After an incredible year I’m so excited to join the cast of Cluedo 2. I am delighted to make my stage acting debut as Miss Scarlett and I can’t wait to work with Jason and the talented cast."

Actor Jason Durr, known for playing David Hide in the BBC One medical soap Casualty, joins Ellie on stage as Colonel Mustard.

He said: "I was a huge fan of the Cluedo board game as a child and the Colonel is such a great character."

Joining Ellie and Jason is Hannah Boyce as Mrs Peacock, Dawn Buckland as Mrs White, Liam Horrington as Mr Black, Edward Howells as Professor Plum, and Tiwai Muza as PC Silver.

Cluedo 2 is touring the UK with dates kicking off in February, taking them to cities like Brighton, York, Newcastle, Woking, and Cardiff. 

The play is an all-new story written by BAFTA Award winners Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran and directed by Mark Bell, who is known for the original UK production of Cluedo and the iconic comedy play The Play That Goes Wrong.

The synopsis for the play reads: "As the bodies pile up, our colourful characters - The Honourable Mrs. Emerald Peacock, Colonel Eugene Mustard, ‘Professor’ Alex Plum, Miss Annabel Scarlett, ‘The Reverend’ Hal Green and the housekeeper Mrs. White - move from room to room trying to escape the murderer and survive the night.

"Cluedo 2 will keep audiences guessing right up to the final moments, and budding detectives of all ages, from 8 to 80 and beyond, can watch for the clues and unravel the secrets, as they try to work out whodunnit… with what… and where!"

Cluedo 2 tickets are on sale now and start from £26.35.

Strictly Come Dancing 2023 winners Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola have revealed they are joining the ITV magazine show This Morning for a very special reason.

The duo revealed that they'll be giving three couples some dancing lessons as part of the This Morning line-up, where they will help them improve their skills and maybe learn some new ones along the way.

Speaking about the opportunity, hosts Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle introduced the segment by saying: "We have got to start with some very exciting news… you are becoming This Morning family members! Can you tell us what you’ll be up to?"

Ellie replied "We are! We are so excited! We are… Well, I’m apparently turning into a teacher. I don’t know how you feel about that! But we are going to basically give three couples some dancing lessons."

Vito added: "Yes, lessons and the best advice."

Ellie continued: "You know when a couple can have an event, a wedding or birthday or something where you’re always trying to get one of them up to dance… my mum’s always saying that to my dad and he’s like ‘I’m not dancing, I’m not dancing’, so we’re going to show couples some moves!"

Vito said, "Anyone can dance and everyone has to dance."

Ellie went on to say: "Dancing has become a huge part of my life and something that I fell in love with and if we can help people feel the same way then it's amazing."

Meanwhile, when asked how she felt about winning Strictly, Ellie confessed: "I don’t think it will ever sink in! I still cannot believe that we won… it was such an emotional time and it kind of feels like a dream - but the best dream ever!"

She also had another confession, adding: "But yeah, I did break the trophy - but my dad's fixed it! He took it to the shed and it’s fixed and it’s on the dining room table and it’s perfect.”

She added, "The Strictly tour coming up is the next exciting thing… I started Strictly as a girl and left as a woman, I’ve grown in confidence so much."

Fans of EastEnders will know there hasn’t been much for poor Jay Brown to smile about recently. But actor Jamie Borthwick is taking a brief break from his heavy storylines for a joyous spin beneath the glitterballs — and he couldn’t be more excited to show off his moves in the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special 2023 !

Speaking to What To Watch during training, Jamie is full of the spirit of the season, and looking forward to dancing his festive quickstep with partner Nancy Xu. 

They’ll be up against the likes of BBC Breakfast presenter Sally Nugent, TV historian Dan Snow and rugby player Danny Cipriani, as they hope their footwork might make the judges smile. Come on Craig, it’s Christmas!

Here, Jamie and Nancy reveal what we can expect from his performance and they tell us he’s been practising everywhere — from the set of EastEnders to the dance floor at his best friend’s wedding!

What made you sign up for Strictly this Christmas?

Jamie: "About a week before they asked me, a friend inspired me to made a pledge to stop saying no to things. I thought it was a good idea because I say no to everything — and then this opportunity came along, and it was the perfect time to put that into practice. 

"Also, I absolutely love Christmas, and what could be more festive than being part of the Christmas Strictly special? So it was a no-brainer in the end, and it’s really nice to do a job that doesn’t involve crying every day and filming on hospital sets like I have been on EastEnders recently, it’s all about the Christmas spirit instead!"

Are you much of a dancer?

Jamie: "Well, I would definitely get up and dance at a party, but to nowhere near the technical standard required for Strictly, by no means am I a natural."

Nancy: "When we first met in training I was watching him jumping around and his moves made me laugh so much, I couldn’t stop. But I’ve had lots of fun with the choreography for our routine, because the Christmas special is less strict than the series and the quickstep is actually a very happy dance. I think Jamie is going to be really good on the night."

Jamie: "I’m a good student, so we’ll be fine! And we’re dancing to Shakin’ Stevens so we’re going to have a right laugh with it — I keep waking up singing that song! In terms of remembering the actual steps we’re OK, but I’m constantly asking Nancy about the finer details."

Have you thrown yourself into the training?

Jamie: "Yes, I managed to get a clear schedule from EastEnders for a few days so I could really rehearse the dance, and I go over the steps in my head all the time. I went to my best friend’s wedding the other day and I was even going over the routine on the dance floor there, grabbing whoever I could find to dance with!"

Have you had any tips from your EastEnders castmates who have danced on the show?

Jamie: "Bobby [Brazier] absolutely smashed it this series (Strictly Come Dancing 2023). He said the same as everyone else, which is that Strictly is an amazing experience, the people are wonderful and I should just enjoy it. I feel like I haven't got the pressure of the main competition, so I’ve got a free pass to have a good time. Everyone speaks so highly of the show, and I definitely understand the thrill of dancing among the pros, I’ve really had the best time so far. Emma Barton said to me, 'Just you wait until it’s time for a spray tan!' I told her I didn’t want one, but once you enter the Strictly bubble you think, 'Why not?!'"

Would you consider signing up for the full series next year?

Nancy: "He definitely should!"

Jamie: "I know I’ll feel a massive low when we finish, and I’ll be sad it’s over, but I don’t think I could cope with the pressure of the main competition. The Christmas special doesn’t feel competitive at all, there’s such a lovely atmosphere and we’ve all clicked as a group, it’s brilliant to be part of."

Are you prepared for the judges to be mean like Ebenezer Scrooge?!

Jamie: "Absolutely, I actually think I will feel a bit hard done by if I don’t get some verbal abuse from Craig — I’ll feel odd if he’s too nice to me!"

Nancy: "It’s Christmas, so I don’t think they’ll be as harsh as usual! This episode is just about fun, and giving happiness to everyone watching. It’s such an amazing feeling being part of it, everyone involved is just enjoying it and there’s pure happiness on their faces."

How will you celebrate Christmas this year?

Nancy: "I don’t celebrate many of the usual traditions, but we’ll have a really nice dinner, and me, my partner and [Strictly pro] Carlos [Gu] are planning to go on holiday to Tenerife!"

Jamie: "I couldn’t go away for Christmas, I need to be in England in the cold! I absolutely love Christmas: the build-up, the hustle and bustle, all the traditions… I love being in the shops at this time of year and going to the pantomime. I’ve had Heart Christmas on the radio since the end of October, honestly, I love it! I’ll drive everyone mad on Christmas Day as I’ll be on TV twice with Strictly and EastEnders!"

Strictly Come Dancing comes to an end this evening - sob! 

The glittering final hit our screens as the three finalists faced off this evening. Coronation Street star Ellie Leach and her partner Vito Coppola took on West End star Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin, and EastEnders actor Bobby Brazier and his partner Dianne Buswell.

But the show had barely started before fans were setting social media alight, praising "the moment of the series".

Tonight's show saw the finalists dance three times. They started by dancing the judges' pick - the routine the judges wanted to see again.

They followed that with their show dances. 

And finally they took to the floor to dance their favourite routine of the series.

It was an emotional evening, with the dancers, judges, audience members and even presenter Claudia Winkleman all welling up throughout the show.

Even notoriously grumpy judge Craig Revel Horwood looked a bit tearful at one point!

But it was a moment right at the start of the show that really had fans sobbing.

When pro dancer Amy Dowden joined the others to take part in the group routine that opened the show.

Earlier this year, Amy was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. 

She's been having treatment for her illness and recently finished her eighth and final round of chemotherapy.

She was planning to join her fellow pros in the dance but suffered more bad luck when she fractured her foot in November, leaving her unable to take part.

BUT the fans at home were thrilled when she appeared in the group dance that started tonight's show!

"The moment of the whole series," said one emotional viewer, while another said: "Amy finally getting the moment she's been longing for all year."

"Am a tad teary seeing Amy dancing in the Strictly opening tonight," one fan admitted.

Us too!

And another viewer said Amy was "back where she belongs"!

Before the show started one fan asked on social media who everyone thought was going to lift the glitterball trophy.

As the group dance drew to a close, a viewer answered the question.

"I think Amy Dowden just did."

We couldn't agree more!

Strictly Come Dancing has a new star! 

And it's not one of the celebrity dancers, their professional partners, the judges, nor the presenters.

It's a golden retriever called Mr Darcy! 

In tonight's results show the professionals kicked off the action with a beautiful group ballroom dance led by Lauren Oakley and Graziano Di Prima.

The romantic, snowy performance ended with Lauren meeting her dream dance partner thanks to his dog - played by Mr Darcy!

The fans loved the new addition to the show.

"THERE IS A DOG," wrote one delighted fan. "I LOVE IT."

And there was a lot of love on social media for Mr Darcy. 

"Of course the only way to top an amazing Strictly group dance is by bringing on a beautiful golden retriever," said a viewer.

And some fans went even further in their praise for the dancing dog!

"Glitterball trophy to Mr Darcy," joked one viewer.

"Mr Darcy gets a 10 from me," said another.

And one smitten fan said: "Mr Darcy just sold the whole series."

We can't argue with that!

One viewer summed it up best.

"DOG ON STRICTLY ALERT!" the happy dog-lover wrote. "PERFECTION IS ACHIEVED!"

Pooches aside, tonight's show was tense as the results would reveal who was going to stay in the show and reach next week's final!

EastEnders star Bobby Brazier and his partner Dianne Buswell had to dance off against tennis star Annabel Croft and her partner Johannes Radebe.

The judges voted to save Bobby and so Annabel - who was widowed earlier this year - was sent home after telling an emotional Johannes he'd given her a reason to get out of bed.

Aww! 

And so the stage is set for next Saturday's final! And we can't wait.

Strictly Come Dancing got very exciting this week as the competition reached the semi-finals!

But the fans have already chosen their winner.

At least, in their hearts! 

This week the celebs and their professional partners had to take to the floor twice as the show reached the semi-finals.

EastEnders star Bobby Brazier, former Coronation Street actress Ellie Leach, West End star Layton Williams, and tennis player Annabel Croft all danced twice.

And though Layton and his professional partner wowed the judges with their Charleston - scooping a top score of 40 from the judges, and Bobby's foxtrot earned him the title of 'king of the ballroom', it was another dancer the viewers at home decided is the show's winner.

Annabel and her partner Johannes Radebe danced a salsa, followed by a Viennese waltz.

Judge Anton du Beke said she was "amazing" and "gorgeous". And even Craig Revel Horwood said her dance was "thoroughly beautiful".

The judges scored her 32 for her salsa, and 33 for her Viennese waltz, leading the dancers and celebs up in the 'Clauditorium' to chant that she was "undermarked"!

The fans watching at home agreed that Annabel has smashed this whole competition.

As a former sports star, Annabel, of course, doesn't have any previous dancing experience.

And she is still grieving for her beloved husband Mel Coleman, who died earlier this year.

And the fans think she is absolutely what Strictly Come Dancing is all about!

"She's great," declared one smitten viewer.

Others said she was the winner due to the 'journey' she's been on.

"Are they the best?" asked one viewer on social media. "No, but they're the most worthy."

"This is what Strictly Come Dancing is all about," said another fan. 

While one viewer simply asked: "Who is your Strictly winner?" Before declaring: "Mine is Annabel."

As this week's competition due to a close, Annabel and Johannes were bottom of the leaderboard, but as we know that can all change once the public vote.

Casualty star Nigel Harman has revealed why he quit Strictly Come Dancing. 

The popular contestant on the show had to leave the competition due to an injury, he revealed to Strictly host Claudia Winkleman.

It was previously announced by the BBC that the Casualty actor had to leave the competition due to an injury sustained in rehearsals, but this is the first time the actor has spoken out about the exit. 

He explained to Claudia Winkleman, “I was leaping off a rostrum and was about to be caught by some very handsome men and, as I flew I was Peter Pan and as I landed, I was in A&E.

"I’ve done something to my rib and it’s quite painful.”

Nigel continued to say that he “loved” his experience on the show, continuing "This really hasn’t sunk in. When I watched everyone come down the stairs, I was a bit like, 'Oh, this is real, I'm not a part of this anymore'."

Nigel's dance partner, Katya Jones, said in response, "It’s quite hard to talk about it, I’m not going to lie. I’ve absolutely loved every moment of us creating magic on a dancefloor. I hope you got something out of this that you’re going to cherish forever."

To which Nigel responded, "The only reason I'm standing here is 'cause of all the work you've put into me. You turn up every day with hundreds of great ideas, you challenge me, you push me, you support me, you make me laugh. But, most of all, you're just part of me now."

The official account for @BBCCasualty sent their messages of condolences, writing on X (formerly Twitter): 'Sending our love to Nigel Harman Everyone at #Casualty is wishing you a speedy recovery! You're welcome in the E.D, we will take care of you.'

Kate Middleton made a secret visit to the Strictly Come Dancing studios this weekend with her children Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. 

As a big fan of the show, it was an exciting visit for the Princess of Wales and her two children. 

According to sources via The Sun, Charlotte and Louis were allowed to sit in the judges’ chairs and cast their own judgment on dancers Katya Jones and Neil Jones. The family was also introduced to presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. 

Prince Louis also reportedly tried on a small gold crown to mark the occasion. How sweet! 

Kate was "really relaxed" and "all smiles" for the occasion, according to a source. 

The source revealed (via The Sun), “Kate and Charlotte are huge fans of Strictly so they were delighted to be invited.

“Kate took pictures of the children in the judges’ seats. She seemed really relaxed and was all smiles. 

"She was polite, sweet and charming with everyone and made sure Louis didn’t get over-excited.

"There was a strict security lockdown on set and staff were told not to take any photos. The children were especially excited and got dressed up. They were thrilled to be on set and to meet their favourite celebrities.”

The royals are all said to be huge fans of Strictly. Back in 2019, Prince William revealed that his wife Kate and his mother-in-law Carole Middleton are huge fans of the show, according to reporting from Hello!

The Prince of Wales said at the time, "I have watched the show [Strictly] a couple of times. Catherine is a huge fan and my mother-in-law loves it."

We're sure Kate and her children were excited to see all the glitz and glamour Stictly has to offer up close!
