As is the case with nearly every Super Bowl Halftime Show and performer, there’s a lot of mystery surrounding what Kendrick plans to do in his 12-15 minute set. While we do know Grammy-winning artist SZA has been announced to join him, not much else is known about which hits he’ll rap, which songs she’ll sing and which of the pairs many collabs will be on full display in the show. As someone who loves to try and crack a mystery, I opted to take on the challenge of guessing what the Super Bowl setlist will be. Considering Usher’s performance last year consisted of 16 songs and Rihanna’s the year before had 12, I’ve narrowed my mock setlist to 13.

So without further ado, here are my thoughts.

Not Like Us

Of course, “Not Like Us” is making the cut. What started out as a diss track to Drake has easily become the biggest song of Kendrick’s career. Again, it has won five Grammys, topped the Billboard Hot 100, set a record for the number of weeks at no. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart and became a cultural phenomenon that couldn’t be stopped. Now despite Drake’s legal action pertaining to the song, legal experts don’t think courts will stop Kendrick from performing it.

All the Stars featuring SZA

Kendrick and SZA are frequent collaborators and are even headed out on their joint tour later this year. Both on the tour and during the Super Bowl performance we imagine they’ll sing their most critically acclaimed song to date, “All the Stars.” Not only was the track from Black Panther (one of our picks for the best Black movies released in the last 25 years) nominated for four Grammys, but it was also nominated for an Academy Award. It also peaked at no. 7 on the Billboard Hot 100.

From Kendrick’s new GNX album, “luther” proves to be their highest-charting collaboration, and with good reason. Relying on a sample from the incomparable Luther Vandross, Kendrick’s lyricism and SZA’s melody propelled the song to no. 1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and no. 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

I have one word for you, “Mustard.” Kendrick screaming the producer’s name on “tv off” has become quite the source of entertainment in pop culture, and has propelled an already great song even further. The GNX track peaked at no. 1 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and no. 3 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

This may not be a concert for GNX, but the album clearly has a few hits for Kendrick. The lead single from the album is up tempo and can definitely rise to the energy of the Super Bowl. Plus, it’s rather popular and peaked at no. 1 on Billboard’s Hot 100.

Alright

From his third studio album To Pimp a Butterfly, “Alright” may not have climbed as high on Billboard’s Hot 100, but that doesn’t matter as much to me. The song won two Grammys and its overall mantra is one of hope. Most people love to hear messages of encouragement, and believing Kendrick recognizes that, I think you can expect to hear a snippet of the track.

HUMBLE

With DAMN. being his Pulitzer Prize and Grammy-winning album, I strongly believe you can expect to see Kendrick perform a few hits from it, including “HUMBLE.” It’s very catchy, a no. 1 Billboard Hot 100 track and it has lots of energy to keep viewers entertained. In past live performances of the song, he put on quite the show, so I’m hoping he does the same for the Super Bowl.

DNA

Again from DAMN. and again, a high-charting song (reaching no. 4 on Billboard’s Hot 100), “DNA” gives the electricity you want in a Super Bowl performance. It inspires listeners to be proud of their background and heritage, and who doesn’t like a feel-good song like that?

LOYALTY (but NOT featuring Rihanna)

Like I said, DAMN. has hits, and “LOYALTY” is another one, having cracked Billboard’s Hot 100. No doubt the song’s popularity was propelled by the superstardom of Rihanna, but sadly, if Kendrick includes the number in his Super Bowl setlist, I don’t envision her joining the stage with him.

LOVE featuring Zacari

Final selection from the DAMN. album, I’m going with “LOVE.” Not only did it reach no. 11 on Billboard’s Hot 100, but it also features his former TDE label mate Zacari. Considering how proud Kendrick has always been of his work with a label he called home for almost 17 years, I think you can expect more than SZA to appear on stage.

B*tch, Don’t Kill My Vibe

While one of Lamar’s slower tracks, the lyrics and melody of this earlier hit song from him are enough to occupy viewers’ attention. He’ll likely not sing much of it, but just enough to remind fans how far he’s come in his career.

30 for 30 by SZA featuring Kendrick Lamar

While there’s a chance SZA performs one of her solo tracks, I’m betting she decides instead to go with a song where she’s the lead and Kendrick is the featured artist. There’s no better choice than her recent release, “30 for 30.” It’s more up tempo than most of her songs and it likely transitions better with the rest of the setlist I envision for Kendrick. Its current position on the Billboard Hot 100 is no. 20.

Denial Is a River by Doechii

This may be my biggest swing, but just hear me out. Doechii is still considered to be one of the new kids on the block, but she’s earned Kendrick’s respect as he’s called her one of the “hardest out” (talking about her artistry). Additionally, she’s on Kendrick’s former label TDE and is coming off a big Grammy win and performance. Kendrick may be gracious enough to help shine a bigger spotlight on Doechii by allowing her to perform a snippet of her chart-rising hit “Denial Is a River.”

Super Bowl LIX airs live on Fox on Sunday, February 9, at 6.30 pm ET/3.30 pm PT. The Halftime Show is expected to start around 8/8:30 pm ET (5/5:30 pm PT).

When we think of Super Bowl commercials we’re often thinking about funny ads promoting a product, but in recent years the breaks in between the game action have also become a place for movies to grab audiences’ attention of what’s coming soon to their local movie theater (or streamer). That will continue this year, as we are expecting a number of Super Bowl movie trailers to be shown on Sunday, February 9, for big upcoming movies like Jurassic World Rebirth, The Fantastic Four: First Steps and other 2025 new movies.

Deadline reported that Disney, Paramount and Universal Pictures have purchased 30-second spots for Super Bowl LIX. While there’s no official word on what movies from these studios are going to be previewed during the game, we can make some strong educated guesses.

Here’s a rundown of the most likely Super Bowl movie trailers you’re going to see:

Elio

The next movie from heralded animation studio Pixar, Elio is the story of a young boy who finds himself on an adventure of intergalactic proportions when he is abducted by a group of aliens. Zoe Saldana, Brad Garrett, Jameela Jamil and Shirley Henderson are among the voice cast for the movie. The first trailer for Elio premiered a couple of months ago, so it will be interesting to see if a Super Bowl spot will showcase any new footage ahead of the movie’s June 13 release date.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Premiering its first teaser trailer just days ahead of the big game, it seems like a pretty good bet that Marvel’s The Fantastic Four: First Step is going to be among the movie trailers shown on Super Bowl Sunday. Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn and Ebon Moss-Bachrach star as the family of superheroes that are making their official Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. I wouldn’t expect anything too different than what we got in the initial teaser, though Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer was surprisingly absent in the official tease, so it would be fun if she made her debut.

How to Train Your Dragon

Many probably didn’t think we needed a How to Train Your Dragon live action movie, but the first trailer released two months ago certainly got a lot of people excited for the movie. Set to be one of Universal’s big summer movies (releasing on June 13), it wouldn’t be a surprise to see some new footage to ratchet that excitement up some more.

Jurassic World Rebirth

Dinosaurs are likely also on the table for Super Bowl movie trailers, as Jurassic World Rebirth debuted its first trailer this past week and should feature a tease at some point during the game broadcast. Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey and Mahershala Ali star in this continuation of the long-running franchise that picks up a few years after Jurassic World Dominion and with a whole swath of new characters.

Lilo & Stitch

Lilo & Stitch could be another Disney title to get a quick preview during the game. Seeing as Stitch is such a trouble maker, it could be fun to see what kind of mayhem Stitch could cause related to the Super Bowl, which would be reminiscent of the original animated movie’s trailer that saw Stitch pop up in other classic Disney movies.

M3GAN 2.0

Having already shown up during the 2025 Grammy Awards, it wouldn’t be surprising to see the dancing android M3GAN make a stop at the Super Bowl as well. Whether or not it would be the same teaser that was shown during the Grammys or if we’d get a peek at some additional footage is unknown, but after being a breakout hit in 2023, M3GAN 2.0 wants to build off that success, and Super Bowl-sized platform is a good place to start.

Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning

The last two Mission: Impossible movies — Fallout and Dead Reckoning — premiered trailers during the Super Bowls ahead of their release, so there’s every expectation that tradition will continue with Super Bowl LIX ahead of the eighth franchise entry, Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning, premiering on May 23. What better way to get people excited for what could be Cruise’s final mission than by previewing the next big stunt he’s going to pull off.

Novocaine

A lot of these movies are already well-established brands, but should Novocaine get a Super Bowl trailer it could really lift the movie's profile. The action comedy stars Jack Quaid as a bank employee who has a medical condition that causes him not to feel pain. That’s a bonus as he goes to great lengths to rescue the girl he’s been dating. With a March 14 release date, a trailer could have a lot of viewers add Novocaine to their must-see list.

Smurfs

The Smurfs may be small, but their latest movie seems poised to get a big debut with a teaser trailer during the Super Bowl. This adaptation of the classic cartoon series features Rihanna, Hannah Waddingham, Natasha Lyonne, Dan Levy, Kurt Russell, John Goodman, Nick Offerman, Sandra Oh, Octavia Spencer, Nick Kroll and more as part of the cast. With a teaser premiering just days ahead of the game, all signs point to the Smurfs popping up once again on Sunday.

Snow White

Rounding out the animated classics getting a live action remake in 2025, Snow White also seems poised to make an appearance during the Super Bowl. Rachel Zegler stars as the titular princess while Gal Gadot stars as the evil queen. With a March 21 release date, Disney is going to want to drum up some more attention for the remake of its first-ever animated movie.

Thunderbolts

According to the Deadline report, Disney is planning to spotlight two of its three 2025 Marvel movies during the Super Bowl. It would make a lot of sense for Captain America: Brave New World to be one of the two as a final push ahead of the movie’s February 14 release date, most audiences are probably pretty aware of that one. Instead this could be a chance to get them excited for what’s next, Thunderbolts, which stars Florence Pugh and other Marvel “villains” getting to be the stars of their own movie.

Watch Super Bowl LIX (and likely these movie trailers) on Sunday, February 9, on Fox starting at 6:30 pm ET/3:30 pm PT. All trailers should be available online ahead of or after their airing during the game.

Let’s be honest, unless your team is playing in the Super Bowl, a big draw of the big game are the Super Bowl commercials. With that in mind, a CBS special airing tonight, February 5, at 9 pm ET/PT is going to rank the funniest Super Bowl commercials of all time, as determined by viewers live.

Super Bowl Greatest Commercials: Funniest of All-Time is being hosted by CBS Mornings co-host, NFL analyst and Hollywood Squares host Nate Burleson and actress Daniela Ruah from the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, where Super Bowl LIX is being played on Sunday, February 9. Burleson and Ruah will rank their favorite Super Bowl commercials, eventually leading to their top two picks. Viewers will then get to vote live at home via an online vote to decide which of the hosts’ picks is the funniest Super Bowl commercial of all-time. Results will be announced at the end of the hour-long broadcast.

CBS has teased some of the commercials that are going to be included on the list, though did not share any details on where they may rank. Among the offerings are the E*Trade babies, the CareerBuilder monkeys, Budweiser’s lamb streaker, Mt. Dew’s PuppyMonkeyBaby and more.

In addition to Burleson and Ruah hosting the special, Entertainment Tonight co-host Kevin Frazier is also going to be part of the special, providing exclusive behind-the-scenes looks and sneak peeks at some of the 2025 Super Bowl commercials. That is also going to include a celebration of the 25th anniversary of the classic Budweiser Whassup campaign.

Super Bowl Greatest Commercials: Funniest of All-Time is joining CBS’s usual Wednesday night game night programming. It will be pre-empted by an all new episode of Hollywood Squares and followed by a new Raid the Cage season 2 episode.

Let’s be honest, just as important as the Super Bowl commercials or the actual Super Bowl itself is the food that you have at your Super Bowl party. Everyone has their favorite big game recipes, and now a group of celebrities are going to get to show those off under the white tent in a new special, The Great American Baking Show: Big Game streaming exclusively on The Roku Channel right now.

A special edition of the US version of the classic British baking competition, The Great American Baking Show: Big Game will feature show staples Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith, along with hosts Zach Cherry and Casey Wilson, as they welcome five celebrity bakers into the tent to see how they do at baking three different game day dishes.

The celebrity bakers participating are Amy Smart, who starred in the classic football movie Varsity Blues, ESPN personality Katie Nolan, Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf, Jacksonville Jaguars defensive end Arik Armstead and Hall of Fame tight end and current TV analyst Tony Gonzalez.

Many fans of The Great American/British Baking Show will likely be relieved to see Leith participating in this special show. It was announced last week that Leith would not be taking part in The Great Celebrity Bake Off 2025 for the UK’s Channel 4, which may have caused some panic among fans about what that could mean for Leith’s future on the show. However, as was shared at the time, Leith’s absence was expected to be temporary. Her involvement with this special of the American version of the show should be further evidence that Prue isn’t going anywhere.

This is just the latest special for The Great American Baking Show as it continues to build its fanbase. It has previously done holiday specials, including 2024’s The Great American Baking Show: Celebrity Holiday special. There will be another special coming in the near future, The Great American Baking Show: Sweet Summer Special. The same networks and platforms that brought the NFL to viewers in the regular season are going to be the ones you need to watch the NFL playoffs: ABC, CBS, ESPN, Fox and NBC.

All of those networks are going to have games over Divisional round. ABC/ESPN have the Houston Texans vs Kansas City Chiefs, Fox has the Washington Commanders vs Detroit Lions, NBC is airing the Los Angeles Rams vs Philadelphia Eagles, and CBS closes it out with Baltimore Ravens vs Buffalo Bills.

ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC are nationally available broadcast TV networks available to anyone with a traditional pay-TV provider or a TV antenna. If you’ve made the move to live TV streaming services, all four networks are available on Fubo, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV, while Sling TV offers Fox, NBC and ABC (in select markets).

ESPN, meanwhile, is a cable channel available through traditional pay-TV providers and live TV streaming services (all of Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV).

It's officially Super Bowl Sunday and there's a sporty broadcast for everyone, from the pet lovers (Puppy Bowl XX) to the "Lover" lovers (will Taylor Swift make it to Las Vegas in time to cheer on Travis Kelce during the Chiefs vs 49ers showdown?). And even the kiddies have their own pigskin special with Nickelodeon's Super Bowl LVIII Live from Bikini Bottom airing on TV tonight. 

For the first time in NFL history, Super Bowl LVIII will be simulcast in two formats, on CBS and Nickelodeon. The latter, youth-focused edition will feature every big moment of football's biggest night from the traditional CBS broadcast, but with the family-friendly addition of all of your kiddo's favorite Nickelodeon characters, from SpongeBob SquarePants to Dora the Explorer. 

Like the CBS broadcast, the Nickelodeon Super Bowl special will kick off on Sunday, February 11 at 6:30pm Eastern. Nickelodeon is a pay-TV channel included with most cable packages, but if you've cut the cord, you can access the network through live TV streaming providers like FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV. The Nick-ified alternate broadcast will also be available to stream live with a Paramount Plus subscription. 

In honor of the 25th anniversary of Nick's SpongeBob SquarePants, the cast of the iconic animated series will be on hand to offer up some live game coverage, with SpongeBob himself (voiced by Tom Kenny) and BFF Patrick Star (voiced by Bill Fagerbakke) joining CBS Sports analyst Nate Burleson and play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle live in the booth to call the game. Sandy Cheeks (voiced by Carolyn Lawrence) will join the group as a sideline reporter, and Larry the Lobster (voiced by Mr. Lawrence) will provide live commentary.

And beyond the beloved residents of Bikini Bottoms, other Nickelodeon favorites will be popping in for the special broadcast, including Dora the Explorer (voiced by Diana Zermeño) and her monkey buddy Boots (voiced by Asher Colton Spence), who will assist in explaining penalty calls during the game. As well as cameos from SpongeBob's villainous Plankton and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, there will also be surprise appearances from Nickelodeon characters in the crowd.

Along with the fun guest appearances, the Nickelodeon special will feature slime-filled stunts, wacky player facts, original on-field graphics, virtual filters and more for kids and families, including "reimagined end zone cannons that fire Slime, Krabby Patties and pickles; undersea AR jellyfish within the stadium; Slime trails and pineapples" and more, per Paramount. 

It's finally Super Bowl 2024 weekend and even before CBS airs the big game between the Kansas City Chiefs and the San Francisco 49ers, they'll be getting the party started tonight with the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration 25th anniversary special. 

Commemorating its silver anniversary this year, the annual concert event is the first and only "inspirational concert and television special" sanctioned by the NFL, bringing together both professional NFL players and award-winning musical artists onstage for an evening of joy and celebration. The one-hour musical special will feature performances by the likes of Earth, Wind & Fire, Kirk Franklin, Robin Thicke, Rachel Platten, T-Pain, and more. 

The all-star show was filmed at the Pearl Theater at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas on Wednesday, but will make its way to your TV tonight, February 10 on CBS at 8pm ET. If you've cut the cord, you can access the cable channel through live TV streaming providers like FuboTV, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV. The Super Bowl Soulful Celebration special will also be available to stream live with a Paramount Plus with Showtime bundle, or on demand the next day with a Paramount Plus Essential plan.

Cedric the Entertainer and Tichina Arnold, stars of CBS comedy The Neighborhood, will act as hosts of the event. Nate Burleson, co-host of CBS Mornings, will receive the “Lifetime of Inspiration” award, while honorees for NFL Excellence include Damar Hamlin, Markquese Bell and Dak Prescott. 

“I’m thrilled to return to the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration stage in Vegas as co-host of the 25th anniversary broadcast on CBS with my dear friend and The Neighborhood co-star, Tichina Arnold,” said Cedric the Entertainer, per Deadline. “A huge congratulations to Melanie Few for creating this amazing celebration of music, faith, and football.”

“Co-hosting the 25th anniversary Super Bowl Soulful Celebration with Cedric the Entertainer is a true highlight for me. Melanie Few’s achievement in hitting this incredible milestone is a testament to her dedication and the event’s cultural impact,” added Arnold. “I’m thrilled to be part of this historic event, and Cedric and I are geared up to bring our energy, laughter, and soul to this momentous occasion!”

And come Sunday, CBS will air Super Bowl LVIII between the Chiefs and the 49ers beginning at 6:30pm ET with even more music: the national anthem sung by country-music icon Reba McEntire. 

Almost as big as the Super Bowl itself (or more so for some) are the Super Bowl commercials. It's perhaps the one time of year where people actively watch commercials, as Super Bowl ads are often funny and memorable. Ahead of Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 11, CBS is giving viewers a chance to rewatch and vote on some of the best Super Bowl commercials of all time.

Super Bowl Greatest Commercials XXIII: The Ultimate Countdown is a special airing Friday, February 9, at 8 pm ET/PT on CBS. Hosted by The NFL Today analyst Boomer Esiason and actress Daniela Rush, the special looks to crown the "ultimate Super Bowl commercial champion."

To do so, this year's special is taking 12 Super Bowl commercials that have ranked either first or second in the special's history and making them finalists for an all new top 12 ranking. Among the contenders are Coke's Mean Joe, Budweiser's Lamb Streaker and the E*Trade Baby. Esiason and Rush are going to reveal the rankings from No. 12 to No. 3, but then the top two commercials are going to be decided by viewers via a live online vote.

To vote, viewers are going to be able to scan a QR code on their TV screen. One thing to note, voting will only be open for viewers in the Eastern and Central Time Zones.

In addition to the commercials, Entertainment Tonight co-host Kevin Frazier is going to offer some exclusive behind-the-scenes looks and sneak peeks at some of this year's Super Bowl commercials.

This is all part of a full weekend of Super Bowl-related programming that CBS has leading up to Super Bowl LVIII between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. One other example is The Super Bowl Soulful Celebration 25th Anniversary special that airs on Saturday, February 10, at 8 pm ET/PT.

To watch Super Bowl Greatest Commercials XXIII: The Ultimate Countdown you need to have access to CBS. That can be through a traditional pay-TV subscription, a TV antenna, a live TV streaming service that carries the network (Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV) or Paramount Plus with Showtime, which allows subscribers to watch their local CBS station live. If you can’t watch it live, it will be available to stream on-demand on Paramount Plus starting Saturday, February 10.

Only two teams will be competing for the Lombardi Trophy in the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 11, but there are plenty of teams represented by players who are up for awards at the annual NFL Honors ceremony, which kicks off Super Bowl weekend on Thursday, February 8, at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT on CBS.

The league will hand out MVP, Offensive and Defensive Rookie of the Year, Comeback Player of the Year, Coach of the Year and the Walter Payton Man of the Year awards during the ceremony, with players like Lamar Jackson, Christian McCaffrey, Tyreek Hill, TJ Watt, Micah Parsons and Jalen Carter looking to take home some hardware. In addition, the NFL Honors will reveal who is being inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as part of the 2024 class.

All of this will be emceed by actor Keegan-Michael Key, who is hosting the event for the third time.

The NFL truly has made the Super Bowl a multi-day affair. In addition to the NFL Honors ceremony on Thursday, CBS is airing a special featuring the greatest Super Bowl commercials of all time on Friday, February 9, at 8 pm ET/PT. Then on Saturday there is the Super Bowl Soulful Celebration 25th Anniversary, also on CBS at 8 pm ET/PT, that will see big-name music acts perform. When it comes to actual Super Bowl Sunday, special coverage starts at noon and runs all the way up to kickoff at 6:30 pm ET/PT on CBS.

To watch any or all of that programming, you are going to need access to CBS or the Paramount Plus streaming service. CBS is available to anyone with a traditional pay-TV subscription or, going really old-school, a TV antenna to receive local stations. If you're looking for a live streaming service, CBS is included with the likes of Fubo, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV. If you've completely cut the cord on live TV and are a wholly streaming household, you can still watch the NFL Honors and these other events live with a Paramount Plus subscription (some may require you be subscribed to the Paramount Plus with Showtime tier).

With eight Grammys, 18 Billboard Music Awards, nine number-one hits, four number-one albums and more than 65 million albums sold worldwide, Usher is easily one of the most accomplished musicians to date. When you add the fact that he is coming off his widely popular and celebrated My Way Las Vegas residency and embarks on his Usher: Past Present Future tour later this summer, it should come as no surprise that his fans everywhere are ready to watch him take to the stage for the Super Bowl Halftime Show on Sunday, February 11, on CBS and Paramount Plus. 

Although there are plenty of people currently analyzing the Super Bowl matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs to pick a winner, we're analyzing Usher's catalog trying to determine what songs he may perform during his 12-15 minute set. 

To provide some context, when Rihanna performed in 2023, she sang 12 songs and was on stage for just over 13 minutes. (For the record, last year we nearly half of Rihanna's setlist.)

With all that in mind, here are the songs WTW believes the fan-anointed King of R&B will perform at the 2024 Super Bowl Halftime Show. 

You Make Me Wanna… (1997)

It may not have been his first single, but "You Make Me Wanna…" is the song that helped make Usher a household name. The song peaked at No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 1 on both the US R&B/Hip-Hop and US Dance Singles charts. The track is up-tempo and a nod to his beginnings. 

My Way (1997)

"My Way" is another single that peaked at No. 2 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and is up-tempo. With lyrics "What I say, goes. And I'm in control," the song could certainly help Usher set the tone that this year's halftime show belongs to him.

Nice & Slow (1998) 

"Nice & Slow" is Usher's first No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, so it would seem like he'd have to perform the track in some capacity. However, given it's a little more mature, we imagine he'll just use the more tamed parts of the song like when he spells his name. 

U Don't Have to Call (2002)

Another high-charting song, "U Don't Have to Call" provides that high-octane energy that Super Bowl watchers tend to thrive on. It also taps into the carefree vibes that many aspire to have. 

U Remind Me (2001)

The song made Usher an official Grammy winner, so it would be hard to picture him not singing this track. Not to mention, "U Remind Me" was his second No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. 

Yeah! feat. Lil Jon and Ludacris (2004)

Out of all the tracks listed here, we'd bet money that Usher will sing this one. It's the biggest hit of his career, having spent 12 weeks on top of the charts (ranked as the No. 1 song of 2004), sold 8 million units and earned a Grammy. We even think Lil Jon and Ludacris could join the mix to add some Atlanta flare. 

Burn (2004)

The success of "Burn" is only eclipsed by "Yeah!" The follow-up hit may not have stayed on top of the charts as long (eight weeks) but it was wildly successful and became an anthem of the summer. 

My Boo feat. Alicia Keys (2004)

With the commercial success of "My Boo," this track has the potential to be a slower moment in between all the anticipated up-tempo dancing of Usher. Plus, with Super Bowl Halftime Shows having a reputation for surprise guests, superstar Alicia Keys is a great person to pop up on stage. 

Caught Up (2005)

Although it didn't sit on top of the charts, it was a top 10 hit. Also hailing from the massively successful album Confessions, "Caught Up" is a great dance track that Usher has a history of performing well and garnering high marks. 

OMG feat. will.i.am (2010)

If the goal of Usher is to keep viewers dancing, whether that be on their feet or in their seats, "OMG" is a must in his lineup of songs. It's full of energy and it has the futuristic sounds of mega-producer, will.i.am. We aren't as confident the Black Eyed Peas frontman will join Usher though. 

Scream (2012) 

"Scream" matches the energy of "OMG" in terms of tempo and is a nice dive into Usher's pop music era. It will definitely keep the party going. 

Climax (2012)

"Climax" is a smooth R&B track that taps into the star's falsetto voice and seemingly gives him another chance to do some breathing in between all his eight counts. It was No. 1 on the R&B charts. 

Good Good feat. Summer Walker and 21 Savage (2023)

Usher drops his new studio album Coming Home on February 9, and the hit single "Good Good" has been climbing the charts and paving the way for his new track listing. We imagine he'd sing this song to further promote his new album. 

Super Bowl LVIII airs on Sunday, February 11, on CBS and Paramount Plus. 

Millions upon millions of people are going to be watching Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, February 11, as the Kansas City Chiefs play the San Francisco 49ers. But while the game is the main attraction, the commercials are also a highlight for many. In recent years, commercials have included special Super Bowl movie trailers as well, and this year isn't going to be any different.

Paramount, which falls under the same banner as CBS, which is airing the Super Bowl this year, has a number of high-profile 2024 new movies and TV shows slated to appear during the big game. The list includes movies like Bob Marley: One Love, IF and A Quiet Place: Day One, as well as Paramount Plus original series and movies, including The Family Stallone season 2. Some of these trailers will air before the game while others will air during.

Other studios are expected to debut movie trailers during the Super Bowl, including Disney, 20th Century Studios and Universal, while some (Warner Bros., Sony, Netflix and Amazon) at this time appear to be opting out of spending the big bucks it costs to get a Super Bowl spot.

Bob Marley: One Love

With Bob Marley: One Love releasing just days after the Super Bowl (February 14), the latest trailer for the movie is going to get a big game debut to hopefully entice moviegoers to check out the story of one of music’s most iconic stars.

While we wait for the official Super Bowl trailer to find its way online, check out the previously released trailer for Bob Marley: One Love.

The Chi

Hit Showtime drama The Chi is set to return with new episodes, with the trailer helping to lead the way. Reports indicate that this trailer is going to air as part of CBS's coverage before kickoff at 6:30 pm ET/3:30 pm PT. If you miss it airing on TV, it should be available not too long after online. 

Deadpool 3

There's only one Marvel movie currently set to be released in 2024 (we'll see if that helps any possible superhero fatigue), the highly anticipated Deadpool 3, which sees Ryan Reynolds return as the merc with a mouth and Hugh Jackman reprising his iconic role as Wolverine for the first time since 2017's Logan. It's not 100% confirmed that Disney will show the Deadpool 3 trailer, but it's widely expected to air at some point during the game. 

The Fall Guy

Like Disney, Universal hasn't officially shared what movie trailers (if any) it is planning to show, but should they offer an entry, a popular choice is probably The Fall Guy, the Ryan Gosling/Emily Blunt action comedy that sees Gosling play a stuntman who has to rescue the movie's missing star in an attempt to win back the woman that he loves, the movie's director (Blunt). The Family Stallone season 2

Paramount Plus series The Family Stone is back for season 2 on February 21, but viewers are going to get a sneak peek at what is going on with Sylvester Stallone and his family with a special Super Bowl preview, airing before kickoff. There is a trailer available for The Family Stallone season 2 online right now, which you watch directly below. 

Halo season 2

Halo season 2 premieres February 8, but the sci-fi video game adaptation is still pulling out all the stops to draw viewers into its epic drama that sees humanity facing off against an invading alien horde. For fans of the original Halo video game, you may be excited to know that this season is expected to cover the fall of Reach. The Halo trailer is going to stream during the game, but you can watch the previously released trailer right here, right now.

IF

Whether the Deadpool 3 trailer airs during the game or not, Ryan Reynolds is going to appear during the Super Bowl, as his new movie IF will get a special spot during the game. The powers that be behind the movie have already teased its big game spot, having fun with the fact that the movie is directed by John Krasinski by making a callback to a classic joke from The Office. 

Inside Out 2

Another likely entry from Disney is the next big Pixar movie, Inside Out 2. The sequel to the acclaimed 2015 animated movie already released a teaser trailer that introduced a new emotion, Anxiety, along with the original group of Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust. A new teaser that released on February 8 seems tailor made for the Super Bowl, so don't be surprised if you see it some time during the big game.

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes

Another potential summer blockbuster from Disney that could build excitement with a Super Bowl spot is Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. Set to release in early May, the movie picks up many years after the last franchise entry, War for the Planet of the Apes, and follows brand-new characters. Knuckles

Sonic the Hedgehog has proven to be a popular movie franchise, with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 coming out in December 2024, but the franchise is getting its first spinoff with the Paramount Plus series Knuckles, who made his appearance during Sonic's second movie. Watch the spot right here.

Paramount Plus

While there are going to be multiple trailers for specific Paramount Plus shows and movies as part of the Super Bowl ads lineup, the Paramount Plus streaming service is also expected to offer one highlighting the entire service. It's expected to follow the same basic format as other Paramount Plus commercials, where stars and characters from Paramount Plus offerings interact. In fact, it wouldn't be surprising if it was this ad featuring Patrick Stewart, Arnold from Hey Arnold and Creed. 

A Quiet Place: Day One

Horror franchise A Quiet Place is returning with a prequel movie this year in A Quiet Place: Day One that is centered around when the aliens from the first two movies arrived on Earth. Featuring a cast that includes Djimon Hounsou, Joseph Quinn, Alex Wolff and Lupita Nyong'o, the first trailer is now available online (and available to watch below), but expect to see it also have a spot during the Super Bowl broadcast.

Shogun

FX teased its epic new limited series Shogun during the big game, and you can watch the extended trailer right here.

Twisters

It's been 28 years since Twister, starring Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt, opened in theaters, but a reboot is on the way in the form of Twisters. Starring Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones, should the trailer air during the Super Bowl, it'll give us our first look at how the blockbuster movie is being updated for the modern day. 

Wicked

The latest Broadway musical adaptation for the big screen may also be taking center stage during the big game, as the first Wicked trailer is considered a strong possibility to be one of the Super Bowl movie trailers. If so, it'll be fans first-look at Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba and Ariana Grande as Glinda ahead of the movie's November release date later this year. 

Who said bingeing TV shows and movies never pays off? For some lucky viewers, it could give them VIP tickets to Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas. Paramount Plus has announced it is hosting a "Hide & Peak" sweepstakes, where those watching Paramount Plus original shows and other TV shows or movies, classic or new on Paramount Plus, can search for a QR code that puts them in the running for the Super Bowl tickets.

The Super Bowl for 2023 brought us plenty of movie trailers, giving non-sports fans something to sink their teeth into alongside all the football fans.

Plenty of major blockbusters got new or longer Big Game Spots, as they're called, with some released ahead of the game and others only debuting mid-way through it.

We've compiled all the released trailers below for you to check out. Bear in mind that we're not including adverts for products, even if they're based around movies or TV shows (so no Breaking Bad chips here).

Oh, and if you're wondering why so many are 30 seconds, or just shy of a minute, it's because the Super Bowl charges a lot for trailers and does so by the 30 second allotment, so studios are looking to get in as much visuals as possible in that window.

A third trailer for Adam Driver-starring dinosaur survival movie 65 is here, hot on the heels of the second official trailer just a few weeks prior.

65 tells the story of an astronaut crash-landing on Earth 65 million years ago, along with a little girl, and having to survive all the dinosaurs which currently call the planet home.

You only have to wait until March 10 to see 65, though you can watch all 3 trailers on repeat until then if you want.

First up is Air, a new movie directed and starring Ben Affleck alongside his off- and on-screen bestie Matt Damon, as well as Jason Bateman, Marlon Wayans, Viola Davis, Chris Messina and Chris Tucker.

Air tells the true story of the Nike Air Jordans — yes, the shoes — from the perspective of the sneaker salesman who united Nike and Michael Jordan to create the world-famous shoes. It's a similar premise to 2020 documentary One Man and His Shoes, which is currently available on FreeVee in many countries.

While Air was co-produced by Amazon Studios, it's actually going to be released in theaters, with an April 5 release in the US, but we'll likely see it drop on Prime Video in the near future.

Creed III

The third movie in the Rocky spin-off franchise is Creed III, which arrives on March 3, and the Big Game Spot trailer seems to be a remix of snippets we've seen before.

One cool part of the trailer is that it begins with the Roman numerals 'III', with clips from the footage playing in the digits, before they expand like a screen getting wider.

Creed III shows Creed aging past his prime, and receiving competition that he might not be able to contend with, all while balancing family issues at the time.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

An anticipated new movie from Paramount gets yet another trailer: Dungeons & Dragons, Honor Among Thieves is getting a minute-long Super Bowl trailer.

We don't see much footage here that hasn't been already shown in previous trailers — in fact, it feels like a condensed version of the main trailer that was shared in July 2022 — but the tone is a little more serious, talking about deadly evils and the like.

Dungeons and Dragons is coming out soon, with a March 31 release date, and you'll be able to catch it in theaters then.

Fast X

We've finally got a glimpse of Fast X, the 10th entry in The Fast and the Furious' sprawling legacy. While the Super Bowl 2023 trailer is only a minute long, the full cut is a full four minutes in length.

The trailer brings back recurring icons Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriquez, Ludacris and Tyrese Gibson, and also introduces us to new-to-the-franchise stars Jason Momoa, who plays the villain, as well as Brie Larson in a mysterious role. There are one or two fast cars as well.

There are a few months out until Fast X lands on May 19, but we'll probably see more trailers as that release date draws near.

The Flash

The longest Super Bowl movie trailer was for The Flash, DC's next superhero movie which his theaters on June 16.

This movie focus on Ezra Miller's character The Flash, and features time-travelling future-altering shenanigans which see Michael Keaton return to playing Batman after many years, as well as Superman getting replaced by Supergirl (played by Sasha Calle).

The trailer shows Batman, action, time travel, Michael Shannon's returning character Zod and, of course, Batman. 

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3

We've finally got a full-length trailer for an upcoming Marvel movie, following a teaser in late December 2022 (though there's lots of similar footage used).

This Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 trailer is a full 2 and a half minutes long, much longer than the minute-long ads for most of the other movies on this list, feating a cover of 'Since You've Been Gone' and showing lots of the cast of the movie.

The second and final Guardians of the Galaxy sequel comes out in theaters on May 5.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny

The fifth outing of Indiana Jones sees 80-year-old Harrison Ford pick up his whip and hat once again.

This teaser for Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny is a quick one with a few jokes and action setpieces, but most of it will be familiar to people who've already seen the nearly 2-minute official trailer.

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny releases on June 30.

Poker Face

Unlike many entries on this list Poker Face isn't an upcoming movie or TV show, as this Rian Johnson-created and Natasha Lyonne-starring detective show has been dropping weekly episodes for a few weeks now.

This Super Bowl 2023 trailer, which shows Lyonne's Charlie Cale providing commentary on other Super Bowl adverts, was likely intended to drum up continued interest in the show.

Since its debut Poker Face has been a hit for Peacock, the $4.99-per-month streaming service which the show is an original production for.

Scream VI

If your voice isn't already hoarse from screaming five previous times, the trailer for Scream VI is here as one of the big Super Bowl movie showings.

This minute-long trailer doesn't emphasize the movie's new setting of New York City as much as the previous one, and instead re-introduces us to the new cast of characters (many of whom return from Scream, which acted as a fifth Scream movie) and the new story.

With Scream VI releasing on March 10, not even a month after the Super Bowl 2023, this could be one of the last official trailers for it.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts

A short 30-second ad, done in collaboration with Porsche, teased upcoming Transformers movie Transformers: Rise of Beasts.

While you could argue that this is actually a car advert, the footage is (presumably) all from the movie — it just focuses on Porsche car product placements.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts comes out on June 9, and it's the sequel to Bumblebee, a spin-off in the Transformers line of movies.

It's been almost five years since multi-Grammy-winning and chart-topping artist Rihanna has performed live in public. For her millions of adoring fans, known as The Navy, her presence in the music world has been sorely missed. While her musical comeback was teased when she released the Oscar-nominated song "Lift Me Up" for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, it's her return to a big stage that truly has her supporters excited, and what’s a bigger stage than the Super Bowl halftime show? 

As with the musicians that performed before her during the Super Bowl, the details about her plans for the 12-15 minute set have been kept as a closely guarded secret. She hasn't hinted at who may join her on the stage, nor has she revealed what tracks she's going to be singing. 

With all that said, like many of you, we decided to think about what hits Rihanna might entertain viewers with during the NFL's big game. Looking at some previous shows, Beyoncé's 2013 performance included 10 songs, Jennifer Lopez and Shakira’s 2020 set consisted of 15 tracks and Dr. Dre's fueled show featured 10 hits. Using history as a guide, we somehow managed to cap our guesses as to what Rihanna will be singing to 10 songs (which wasn't easy). 

Now without further ado, here is what WTW believes Ms. Fenty will perform at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show. 

1. Pon De Replay (2005)

This was Rihanna's debut song in the music industry and peaked at No. 9 on Billboard's Hot 100. The uptempo track certainly made many listeners move in their seats, and even persuaded some to take their talents to the actual dance floor.  

2. SOS (2006)

Sampling the 1981 hit song "Tainted Love," this Rihanna hit became her first number-one charting song. As such, she would be remiss not to include the pop track in her Super Bowl setlist. 

3. Umbrella (2007)

While the songs that came before this put Rihanna on the map, "Umbrella" made her a household name. In 2007, you would have been hard pressed to find someone not singing the words "Under my umbrella, ella, ella, eh, eh, eh." The track charted seven weeks at number one and earned the musician her first Grammy.  

4. Live Your Life (2008)

"Live Your Life" is technically rapper T.I.'s song that features Rihanna. However, the feel-good message is perfect for a Super Bowl setting and her verse on the track is snippet ready for a 12-15 minute performance. 

5. Only Girl (In the World) (2010)

"Only Girl" was the first single from her Loud album and, you guessed it, was a chart-topping song for the pop music legend. It also won a Grammy for Best Dance Recording.    

6. What's My Name (2010)

Rihanna and Drake have a tendency to collaborate and make nothing but hits. Their first venture together was "What’s My Name," and music lovers simply couldn't get enough of the track. Again, it's a song that peaked at number one.  

7. We Found Love (2011)

Talk about a song that makes you just want to jump and fist-pump. The Calvin Harris-produced track is a ball of high energy and earned Rihanna a Grammy for Best Music Video. Considering how fun "We Found Love" is, we all but guarantee she'll perform it during the halftime show. 

8. Diamonds (2012)

Ms. Fenty is not always synonymous with ballads, but "Diamonds" has to be her best one. It "shines bright" as her 12th number-one Billboard song and is one she tends to gravitate toward when performing melodies of her greatest hits. 

9. Work (2016)

Again, Drake and Rihanna make magic in the studio together. "Work" is a Grammy-nominated record, a chart-topper and it's downright catchy. This makes you wonder if Drake will be a surprise guest during the halftime show.  

10. A new release

There have been rumblings that following her highly-anticipated performance, Rihanna plans to announce a world tour. Considering many artists these days don't go on tour without releasing new music, we envision she has some headed our way. What better way to premiere a song than to millions watching the Super Bowl?

It's as if we're traveling back in time because Alicia Silverstone has decided to pick back up the mantel of Cher Horowitz for e-commerce company Rakuten in one of this year's Super Bowl commercials. 

In her reprisal as Cher, Silverstone is seen walking to the front of a classroom to engage in a debate with frenemy Amber Mariens (Elisa Donovan). Then this new iteration of Cher goes into a spiel about the benefits of using Rakuten, which Amber rebuts with her classic "whatever" response. Take a look at the commercial below. 

Now for those thinking they experienced a hint of déjà vu watching the Super Bowl ad, you wouldn’t be far from the truth. Not only did Rakuten revive the characters of Cher and Amber, but the company also placed its own unique spin on a scene from the actual 1995 film. Check out the original movie trailer to see what we mean.  

With all of that said, allow us to point out that in the '90s, there weren't many coming-of-age movies more iconic than Clueless. The comedy follows the teenage hijinks of a group of Beverly Hills high school students who for all intents and purposes didn't have a clue about the real world of adulthood. From that one film, catchphrases like "as if" and  "whatever" became the popular things to say. 

Then there's the fashion. After the comedy premiered in theaters, countless teenagers flocked to stores to get a standard mini-skirt, sweater and blazer. Oh, and we can't forget, the plaid trend that was ignited. The Clueless looks would even be repeated in Britney Spears' music video for "Baby One More Time" and Iggy Azalea's video for "Fancy." 

Besides its impact on culture, the film also greatly boosted the careers of the actors. Clueless was a springboard for Brittany Murphy (8 Mile), Donald Faison (Scrubs), Jeremy Sisto (FBI), Paul Rudd (Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania) and of course, Alicia Silverstone (Senior Year). 

As we expect more commercials to air ahead of and during Sunday's big game, it was nice to see a nod to our cinematic past. We have to wonder, will nostalgia be a big theme of the commercials this year or can we expect more future-leaning and provocative clips?

Before football fans around the world learned that the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles would be going head to head in Super Bowl LVII, the other most important component of the event, the halftime show performer, was announced in September 2022. We're talking of course about multi-Grammy-winning artist Rihanna. 

The announcement of her performance was a welcomed surprise for her fan club, affectionately called The Navy, as she hasn't performed live in front of a big audience since the 2018 Grammys when she performed "Wild Thoughts" alongside DJ Khaled. Not to mention, before the release of "Lift Me Up" for the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, fans haven't heard new music from her as a lead artist since the debut of her hit album Anti.

The new commercial was teased in December when PopCorners revealed a silhouette of Walter White in the desert. Now that the image has come to life in its full-color glory, Breaking Bad fans are left wondering how the popular character will come to life in the commercial. 

Over the years there have been lots of memorable Super Bowl commercials, many of which quickly entered the pop culture zeitgeist after taking over water cooler conversations everywhere. That honor goes to the lineup of this year’s Super Bowl halftime show — Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, Dr. Dre and Kendrick Lamar. 

The hip hop and R&B superstars are headlining what is arguably the biggest concert of the year — following in the footsteps of last years’ Super Bowl show performer The Weeknd and other recent halftime stars, Jennifer Lopez & Shakira, Lady Gaga, Beyonce, Katy Perry and Bruno Mars. 

Don’t be surprised if these music legends wind up blowing the roof off SoFi Stadium — especially if the epic teaser trailer is any indication (see below).

Pro Bowl Skills Showdown

We all know that all-star games are just exhibitions where the honor for the players is more important than the actual game itself. This has proven to be especially true for the NFL’s Pro Bowl, which in recent years has seen many of its official selections drop out after the rigors of the season or if they’re from the two teams that make the Super Bowl. The game that is eventually played is usually a far cry from the quality fans watch every week during the NFL season. However, what the Pro Bowl has started to do, to bring some fun into the proceedings, is its skills competition.

The Pro Bowl Skills Showdown asks these players to show off their incredible talents in fun ways. This includes seeing the best quarterbacks in the league test their accuracy in precision passing games, or finding out what NFL player is actually the fastest or who can make the most spectacular catches. It is still a competition between the AFC and NFC though, all ending with a game of dodgeball. Now tell me that doesn’t sound like a blast.

 The Pro Bowl Skills Showdown will air on ESPN on Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. ET. 

Super Bowl commercials

Typically, most people would prefer to do without commercials (this is why most streaming services offer options for ad-free subscriptions at an increased price). The one time of year that is not true is the Super Bowl, where for many people the commercials are the best part.

While we’ll have to wait for the game to see this year’s slate of Super Bowl commercials, viewers can enjoy some of the all-time classics in the CBS special Super Bowl Greatest Commercials: All-Time Classics. CBS Sports analyst Boomer Esiason and NCIS: Los Angeles star Daniela Ruah will host the special and countdown their top 10 favorite Super Bowl commercials — leaving it up to America to pick their favorite from the list. Keeping my fingers crossed that Terry Tate, office linebacker, makes the cut.

Super Bowl Greatest Commercials: All-Time Classics airs on CBS Tuesday, Feb. 8, at 8 p.m. ET/PT. 

2022 NFL Honors

While the “awards season” typically refers to the Oscars and other TV and movie-related prizes, the NFL has gotten into the awards show category with its primetime NFL Honors broadcast. 

The NFL Honors are where the biggest awards of the year, including Most Valuable Player, Rookie of the Year, the Walter Payton Man of the Year and more are announced. It is also where the new inductees to the Pro Football Hall of Fame will be recognized for the first time. Plus, it has many of the traditional trappings of an awards show, including a red carpet and a host — this year Keegan-Michael Key — who does their best to poke fun at the nominees, with the added danger they may try and sack you if they don’t like a joke.

The 2022 NFL Honors is on ABC, NFL Network and streams on ESPN Plus, Feb. 10 at 9 p.m. ET.

Puppy Bowl

Football players tackling and throwing a ball around not your thing? How about adorable puppies dressed as football players and running around a faux football field? 

The Puppy Bowl has become an incredibly popular Super Bowl tradition in its own right, with these furry footballers (most of whom are available for adoption) stealing the hearts of millions. Snoop Dogg will get to have some before later appearing in the halftime show later that night, as he hosts alongside Martha Stewart, but its the other dogs that are the true stars of the show.

The Puppy Bowl airs on Animal Planet and streams on Discovery Plus, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. ET.

Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest day in American sports. And Puppy Bowl 2021 is the biggest day in canine broadcasting. Because let's face it — do you really want to watch Tom Brady in another Super Bowl?

We didn't think so.

And that's part of why the Puppy Bowl is so much fun. It's not just another marketing gimmick. It's pure (but almost certainly not not pure-bred) fun. It's puppies being puppies and doing what puppies do best.

And probably the most important part is that all 70 puppy players are available for adoption, with the help of 22 shelters and rescues. And thus far, the Puppy Bowl has gone 16-for-16 with a 100 percent adoption rate.

It's all in good fun — and, yes, it's all about advertisers — but it's also all about the animals.

The growth from last year is impressive, as Fox had a 30% increase over 2019 on CBS. The longer view of growth is even more impressive. The first average online viewership available is from 2014, which had 528,000 people. That figure grew over 640% to reach 3.4 million now.

The growth of cord cutting has contributed to this rise, as has the expansion of the platforms that stream the game. Initial Super Bowl streaming was limited to specific mobile phones and carriers along with web browsers. Super Bowl LIV was available almost everywhere. It streamed on the Fox Sports app and website, along with the NFL app, Verizon's Yahoo Sports app, and on the participating teams' digital properties.

Next year's Super Bowl will be broadcast and streamed by CBS.

The FOX broadcast network, including connected TV platforms, drew an average audience of 99.9 million viewership peaking at 103.5 million in the exciting conclusion to the NFL's 100th season.

Roku and Fox are making the wrong kind of news as Super Bowl weekend arrives, and leaving fans and users looking for last-minute options.

Roku is removing the stand-alone Fox channels from the Roku channel Store. This includes the popular Fox Sports, Fox News, and Fox Now channel apps. The channels already are gone from search results on Roku devices.

This is really bad timing for this to happen, especially for Roku owners who were expecting to stream the Super Bowl. Fox Sports will be streaming Super Bowl LIV online for free, but now Roku owners won't have the channel app to watch it. Fox Sports has already removed references to Roku devices from their Super Bowl LIV website.

Find another way to watch the Super Bowl online & without cable

The official Roku Support account on Twitter confirmed the move and offered an explanation. In a reply to a question from another user, it said the removal of the Fox channels happened because their "distribution contract with FOX Corp is set to expire on Jan. 31".

This isn't the first time this month that Roku has been forced to remove a high-profile channel. At the beginning of January, Roku lost the AT&T TV app from any new installs on the Channel Store. Users who had that app installed previously could continue to use it, but it has still been a bad look.

These situations aren't for either company, but there is usually plenty of blame to go around to all involved. Fox wants as many streams as possible for their Super Bowl numbers, so changing things on customers with days to go won't help them. Roku doesn't want users to have to go out and buy another device just for the Super Bowl, because if they like it then they may not come back.

Roku devices previously had been announced as supporting 4K HDR streaming of the Super Bowl for free from Fox Sports. Now, only Amazon Fire TV devices are listed by Fox as supporting their 4K HDR Super Bowl online. Apple TV 4K will carry the game in 4K with standard dynamic range in the Fox Sports app.
