Stephen Colbert is extending the three-day holiday weekend that we all just enjoyed and turning it into a whole week off, as no new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is airing on CBS from Monday, May 26, to Friday, May 30. However, reruns of the late night talk show are going to be airing in its usual 11:35 pm ET/PT time all week.

The Late Show takes these week-long breaks from time to time, usually around holidays or if there is special CBS programming that would impact the show’s airing. So with Memorial Day weekend marking the unofficial start of summer, Colbert and his team are taking the chance to get some rest and relaxation. There’s no official word on when The Late Show will return with new episodes, but the earliest date would be Monday, June 2.

Still, if you like to end your nights with The Late Show you’ll still be able to this week, the jokes just won’t be as topical. Here’s a look at the The Late Show reruns that will be airing May 26-30:

Colbert won’t be the only late show host taking a break. According to TV Guide, fellow CBS late night show After Midnight is not expected to air new episodes next week. Nor are other networks’ late night talk shows like ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! or NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is taking its spring break, as no new episodes of the late night talk show are going to air for the week of April 21-25. Reruns of The Late Show will instead air all week at the show's usual time, 11:35 pm ET/PT on CBS.

As for why The Late Show is not airing new episodes this week, Stephen Colbert offered no specific reasoning on his most recent show on April 16, nor has Paramount/CBS, so this just seems like it’s a scheduled break for the show, ones they take from time to time throughout the year. The last week-long break for The Late Show came back in March, during the first week of the March Madness college basketball tournament where games aired late into the night.

But if you like to end your night with Colbert, as we said, reruns of The Late Show are still going to be shown every night this week on CBS. Here is the schedule of recent episodes that are being shown again this week:

We don’t have confirmation yet if The Late Show will return with new episodes for the week of April 28-May 2, but usually when the show takes a break it’s just for one week.

CBS’s other late night show, After Midnight, is also not airing new episodes this week. Nor are NBC’s late night shows, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers. The only one of the major broadcast late night talk shows airing new episodes this week is Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC.

When will we be hearing the classic call to welcome — “Live from New York, it’s Saturday Night” — next? Well, it won’t be this week, Saturday, April 19, as the Saturday Night Live season 50 not airing a new episode. In fact, it’ll be a couple of weeks, as it looks like the next time the comedy series will be back with a new episode is on May 3.

SNL is coming off three straight weeks of new episodes that aired on March 29, April 5 and April 12. Hosts for those episodes included Mikey Madison (and Morgan Wallen’s now infamous quick exit after being the musical performer), Jack Black and Jon Hamm. On average that’s been about how many shows SNL produces in a row this season before taking a mini break.

But if you have made watching SNL part of your weekly habit, NBC is going to air a rerun of the show at its usual 11:30 pm ET time slot on April 19 (we’d expect the same for next Saturday, April 26). You can watch that if you have access to NBC through a pay-TV provider, TV antenna or live TV streaming service. Or you can watch any previous episode of SNL if you are a Peacock subscriber.

As for the May 3 episode of SNL, Abbott Elementary star and creator Quinta Brunson has been tapped to host, joined by musical guest Benson Boone. Abbott Elementary season 4 recently wrapped, which WTW’s own Terrell Smith called the best of the series to date.

This will be Brunson’s second time hosting SNL, she previously hosted during SNL season 48 in 2023. Among the highlights from Brunson’s initial episode was this hilarious sketch depicting a traffic altercation:

We’re approaching the end of SNL’s historic 50th season. While nothing is confirmed, most SNL seasons the last few years have had about 20 episodes (save for 2023, which had 18, impacted by the 2023 Hollywood strikes). Brunson’s episode on May 3 is going to be the 18th episode of SNL this season, so many expect there to be two to three more before they shut things down for the year.

It’s an abbreviated week for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, as there will be no new episode of the late-night talk show on CBS on Thursday, April 10. Instead, a rerun from a couple of weeks ago is going to air on the network, but even that is going to air at a delayed time for The Late Show. So, why is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert not new?

Because of “a tradition unlike any other,” as Jim Nantz would say, CBS plans to air a special highlights show for the 2025 Masters golf tournament on Thursday, starting at 11:35 pm ET/PT. That is pushing The Late Show with Stephen Colbert to 11:50 pm ET/PT. This is the second sporting event this week to impact The Late Show, as it was delayed on Monday, April 7, because of the NCAA men’s basketball championship game, though they still aired a new episode. This time, Colbert and company apparently opted to end their week early.

So, as far as what episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is airing on Thursday, April 10, it will be the episode that previously aired on March 26 of this year, featuring The Studio star and co-creator Seth Rogen and Thor actor Chris Hemsworth (who was recently confirmed to be reprising the role in Avengers: Doomsday).

The Late Show is also going to be delayed until 11:50 pm ET/PT on Friday, April 11, again for the Masters Highlights program. The Friday show will also be a rerun (as is the show’s usual practice). This one from March 13, and featuring an extended interview with actor Gary Oldman, where he speaks about his most famous roles, including Slow Horses, sharing the secrets to Jackson Lamb’s farts.

While The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is not airing a new episode for April 10, CBS’s other late-night program, After Midnight, is. Also delayed until 12:52 am (technically Friday morning), the Taylor Tomlinson-hosted late-night show is welcoming Esther Povitsky, Randy Sklar and Arden Myrin as guests to comment and poke fun at some of the internet and social media’s most notable news and trends.

You don’t need to worry about this being an extended break for The Late Show, as it is scheduled to return with a new episode and at its usual time on Monday, April 14.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert kicks off a new week of episodes on Monday, April 7, though depending on where you live, the late-night talk show is going to start a little later than normal.

For those in the Eastern and Central time zones, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is going to be delayed on April 7, scheduled to air at 12:05 am ET (technically Tuesday, April 8) and 11:05 pm CT. However, for everyone else not in the Eastern and Central time zones, The Late Show is slated to air at its normal time.

This shift in the schedule is due to the NCAA March Madness men’s college basketball national championship game, which sees the Houston Cougars take on the Florida Gators starting at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT on CBS. Coverage of the game is scheduled to conclude at 11:30 pm ET/8:30 pm PT. Should the game go into overtime or go long for any reason, that could push back the start of The Late Show by a little bit for Eastern and Central time zones.

When The Late Show does air on Monday, April 7, Colbert will welcome Senator Corey Booker, New York Knicks and former NCAA men’s basketball champion Jalen Brunson as his guest, while a special appearance from Keegan-Michael Key is also expected for the show.

Because The Late Show is going to air late for Eastern and Central time zones, so will After Midnight on CBS. As of right now, the Taylor Tomlinson-hosted late-night show is scheduled for 1:07 am ET and 12:07 am CT. Again, for those outside of Eastern and Central time zones, After Midnight is scheduled to air at its normal time.

This isn’t the only sporting event disrupting CBS’s late-night shows this week. The Masters 2025 is going to impact the Thursday and Friday late-night schedule as well. On Thursday, April 10, and Friday, April 11, CBS will air a Masters Highlights show at 11:35 pm ET/PT covering the daily action from the golf tournament, which will again push back The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and After Midnight. As a result, The Late Show looks like they may also be ending their week early, as there is no info on a new episode for Thursday, April 10 (Fridays, both The Late Show and After Midnight always air reruns).

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is going to start even later than usual tonight, March 27, for many viewers, but the CBS talk show is still airing a new episode.

Normally airing at 11:35 pm ET/PT, with CBS broadcasting a pair of March Madness Sweet 16 games in primetime on March 27, The Late Show is being delayed for those in the Eastern and Central time zones. As of right now, the expectation is that The Late Show will air at 12:35 am ET (technically Friday, March 28) and 11:35 pm CT, an hour later than its traditional time. However, depending on how long the Arizona vs Duke game goes, that could be pushed back.

For those not in the Eastern or Central time zones, The Late Show is scheduled to air at its usual time (10:35 pm MT and 11:35 pm PT).

As far as which guests are going to be on the March 27 episode, Colbert is welcoming Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer and Michelle Buteau, whose TV show Survival of Thickest season 2 premiered on Netflix today.

With The Late Show being pushed back an hour, the same is happening with CBS’s other late-night show, After Midnight, which is currently scheduled to air at 1:37 am ET/12:37 am CT. However, unlike The Late Show, After Midnight is opting to air a rerun.

The Late Show will get a delayed broadcast again on Friday, March 28, for Eastern and Central time zones, as CBS once again airs Sweet 16 matchups in primetime. However, as per usual, The Late Show will be airing a rerun on Friday.

To watch The Late Show, you need to have access to your local CBS station through a traditional pay-TV provider, a TV antenna or a live TV streaming service (Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV). You can also watch it live on Paramount Plus, as long as you subscribe to the Paramount Plus with Showtime tier; otherwise, the March 27 episode of The Late Show will be available to stream on-demand starting March 28 on Paramount Plus.

TV’s other late-night shows, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, are going to air at their normal times.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is not airing new episodes this week, March 17-21, on CBS, instead showing repeats from recent episodes. As for why the late-night talk show is taking a break, we can sum it up in two words: March Madness.

The annual NCAA men’s college basketball tournament, affectionately known as March Madness, begins this week. While there was no official statement about the tournament prompting The Late Show's hiatus, with games airing on CBS on Thursday and Friday, the network likely opted to give Colbert and his crew the week off instead of doing a partial week.

That being said, reruns of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert are still going to air all week on CBS. Monday through Wednesday the reruns are expected to air at their usual time, 11:35 pm ET/PT, but on Thursday and Friday it is likely that the episodes will air later than normal (TV Guide has the show listed as starting at 12:35 am ET/PT). After Midnight, CBS’s other late-night program that airs immediately after The Late Show, is also going to be taking the week off and showing reruns. The other major broadcast network late-night talk shows, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, are scheduled to air new episodes at their normal times.

If you don’t want to stay up late to watch The Late Show reruns this week but like getting your nightly dose of Colbert, then you can stream the scheduled episodes or other previous episodes of The Late Show on-demand if you have a Paramount Plus subscription. Among the show’s recent highlights was an extended interview with Gary Oldman, where he shared some secrets to his performance of Slow Horses’ character Jackson Lamb.

March Madness games continue on Thursday and Friday next week, but at this time we don’t know if they will impact the CBS schedule where Colbert may be off for a second straight week. We expect that announcement by March 21.

Gary Oldman is one of the most respected and accomplished actors of his age, and he shared a secret to one of the defining aspects to his Emmy-nominated role as Jackson Lamb on Slow Horses — how he delivers those quintessential Jackson Lamb farts.

In a special interview with The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that aired on March 13, the late night talk show host sat down with Oldman as fans await the return of Slow Horses season 5 on Apple TV Plus, where they covered what interested Oldman in doing a TV show, the process of getting ready to play Lamb, but perhaps most importantly, how he delivers those perfectly timed and legendary farts.

“Do you do your own stunts,” Colbert asked Oldman, referring to Lamb’s passing of gas, “Can you fart on command?” No, Oldman admits, those farts we hear from Lamb are not of his doing. “I cock a leg… I indicate,” Oldman explains, which allows for the sound effects team in post-production to work their magic.

With that being the case, Colbert had the fun idea of adding that Jackson Lamb trademark to some other iconic performances from Oldman. He showed Oldman a clip package where farts were added to his performances in movies like Dracula, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Air Force One and even his Oscar-winning role as Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour. It really tickled Oldman, who was brought to tears laughing.

Moving on from the farting, Oldman explained to Colbert how he came to star in Slow Horses. It turns out he was an admirer of the work that was being done in long-form TV. “I would look sometimes with envy and just admiration at these shows. Best directing, best cinematography, some of the best writing, certainly the best acting, far better than what we’re mostly seeing on the big screen.”

Oldman told his manager and producing partner how he longed for his own show to be part of what he (and others) called “this golden age of television.” But he did have some conditions: it would have to be “very well written,” he didn’t want to wear a wig or prosthetic makeup, he didn’t want elaborate costumes or to have to do an accent and he would love it to be in the spy world.

Sometime later, Oldman was on a plane and noticed that his producing partner was laughing as he read a script. He told Oldman, “I’m reading a character who is just about to become your best friend,” which of course would be Jackson Lamb. “It fell from the sky and ticked all the boxes,” Oldman said.

The first ever episode of Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney, the new live Netflix talk show, premieres on Wednesday, March 12, at 10 pm ET/7 pm PT, but who will be the first guests to join the comedian on the show?

They are Michael Keaton, Joan Baez, Fred Armisen, personal finance columnist Jessica Roy and music from Cypress Hill. If anyone remembers what Mulaney’s last talk show on Netflix was like, these guests could be in for a very different experience than other late-night programs.

Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney is a follow-up to the series Everybody’s in LA that aired in May 2024 as part of the Netflix is a Joke Festival. While Mulaney went old school talk show having a sidekick/announcer in the form of Richard Kind (who is back for this new iteration), the rest of Everybody’s in LA was almost like a weird fever dream where Mulaney tried to focus on a single topic each night but things would often just go off the rails, which people seemed to love.

We don’t have any inkling on what topic Mulaney may be focusing on for the March 12 episode of Everybody's Live (though the presence of finance columnist Jessica Roy could be a hint), but Mulaney has quite the eclectic bunch for his first group.

Keaton is an Oscar-nominated actor for Birdman, but is best known for playing Batman in Tim Burton’s 80s/early 90s take on the character (reprising the role in 2023’s The Flash) as well as portraying the character Beetlejuice, including for the 2024 sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice.

Joan Baez is a music legend, who many may have become a bit more familiar with after seeing A Complete Unknown, where she was played by Monica Barbaro. Baez, a folk singer, has recorded more than 30 albums, received a Lifetime Achievement award from the Grammys and received a Kennedy Center Honor in 2021.

Fred Armisen is a comedian best known for his time on Saturday Night Live, Portlandia and Documentary Now! Mulaney and Armisen worked together both on SNL and Documentary Now! Most recently Armisen starred in the Netflix comedy series Unstable.

Jessica Roy currently writes for the San Francisco Chronicle, but she has also written for the Los Angeles Times. She usually writes advice columns on budgeting and spending money in California.

Rounding things out is Cypress Hill, a hip-hop group that formed back in 1988 and has sold more than 20 million albums worldwide. They are best known for their songs “Insane in the Brain,” “I Ain’t Goin’ Out Like That” and “Throw Your Set in the Air.”

We’ve got a new late night host, as John Mulaney enters the fray with a new, live talk show airing weekly on Netflix, Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney.

Mulaney set the internet abuzz with his wacky take on a talk show Everybody’s in LA in 2024, which was a week-long series of episodes that coincided with the 2024 Netflix Is a Joke comedy festival. Fans of the stand-up were interested in Mulaney doing more with the format, and Netflix has obliged them with this new talk show.

Mulaney is one of the most popular stand-up comedians of recent years, with specials that include The Comeback Kid, Kid Gorgeous at Radio City and John Mulaney: Baby J (all of which are streaming on Netflix); he won Emmys for Kid Gorgeous and Baby J.

Mulaney is also an acclaimed writer, breaking out as a writer on Saturday Night Live and helping to create and write shows and specials like Documentary Now, Oh, Hello on Broadway and John Mulaney & the Sack Lunch Bunch. He also wrote a sitcom titled Mulaney, which lasted just one season.

As an actor, Mulaney’s notable credits include Oh, Hello on Broadway, voicing Spider-Ham in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Chip ‘n Dale: Rescue Rangers, Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, Big Mouth and The Bear. He is also a member of SNL’s Five-Timer club, meaning he’s hosted five or more times.

In addition to Mulaney, reports indicate that Richard Kind (Only Murders in the Building season 4) will return as Mulaney’s sidekick on the show, as will the delivery robot Saymo.

For those that watched Everybody’s in LA, you know that Mulaney tweaked with the traditional late-night talk show format. Each night he decided he wanted to focus on a particular topic that dealt with Los Angeles, including occasionally taking calls from everyday people. However, conversations would often veer into a range of directions, sometimes having nothing to do with the designated topic.

Reports say that Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney will continue to mix celebrities with experts in various fields, but the subject is not expected to be Los Angeles. When the premiere date was announced, Mulaney had this to say when he described the show:

“We will be live globally with no delay. We will never be relevant. We will never be your source for news. We will always be reckless. Netflix will always provide us with data that we will ignore.”

So what that all means we’ll just have to wait and see.

Ever wish you could have watched Saturday Night Live’s first episode when it hit the airwaves at 11:30 pm on October 11, 1975, witnessing the start of what has became one of the best TV shows of all time? Well, unless you were alive then or barring time travel, the closest you’ll probably ever get is with NBC re-airing SNL’s first episode on Saturday, February 15, at 11:30 pm ET/PT.

As part of SNL’s 50th anniversary celebration taking place this weekend, viewers will be able to watch Dan Aykroyd, John Belushi, Chevy Chase, Jane Curtin, Garrett Morris, Laraine Newman and Gilda Radner appear on the Studio 8H stage for the first time, with host George Carlin, musical guests Billy Preston and Janice Ian, and special appearances by Andy Kaufman and some Jim Henson muppets (not Kermit or Big Bird).

To watch this special showing of this historic TV episode when it airs on NBC this weekend, you need to have access to your local NBC station, either through a traditional pay-TV provider, a live TV streaming service (i.e. Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV or YouTube TV) or a Peacock Premium Plus subscription. I did just that, watching SNL’s first episode on Peacock, in the fall as SNL season 50 was about to get underway, curious to see some of the ways that the show has evolved. What struck me was how though there were some differences, the show’s format that we know today was pretty much present right from the start.

This isn’t the only way that you can relive the first episode of Saturday Night Live. The 2024 movie Saturday Night chronicles, in near real-time, the 90 minutes leading up to the first ever episode of SNL, as a young Lorne Michaels (played by Gabriel LaBelle) has to manage his young and wild cast as well as traditionalist TV execs or risk the show not making it to air. Of course, the big event for SNL’s golden anniversary is the official SNL50:The Anniversary Special, a three-hour broadcast airing live on Sunday, February 16, at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT, featuring many iconic cast members, hosts and more that have helped define the show over the years. That will air on NBC as well as be simulcast on Peacock.

After all this, we’ll eventually get back to new episodes of SNL season 50, though TBD on just when that’ll be.

Consider it a sweet Valentine's Day gift, SNL fans: NBC and Peacock are celebrating the big 50th anniversary of Saturday Night Live all weekend long, and the streamer is kicking off the occasion tonight with SNL50: The Homecoming Concert, a three-hour musical special featuring A-list celebrity guests and cast members from the sketch-comedy institution.

Streaming live from New York City's Radio City Music Hall beginning at 8pm Eastern Time on Peacock, the event will be hosted by Saturday Night Live alum and The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon, and will honor the show's deep musical history, which stretches all the way back to October 1975 and SNL's first-ever musical guests, Billy Preston and Janis Ian.

Oliver was able to parlay that experience to a deal with HBO for what would become Last Week Tonight. Of the show’s 30 Emmys, he has won 21 of them for writing and producing the show.

Last Week Tonight is filmed in New York City, produced for HBO by Avalon and Peyance Productions. Oliver is the executive producer on the show, alongside Tim Carvell, Liz Stanton, Jon Thoday and James Taylor. Paul Pennolino directs the episodes.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is taking some time off this week, February 10-14, as no new episodes of the late night talk show are going to be airing on CBS. Instead, reruns of The Late Show are going to be airing at its usual time, 11:35 pm ET/PT. But why is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert not new?

Neither The Late Show nor CBS gave an official reason for the break, and Colbert did not reference the fact the show was going on hiatus on his most recent new episode from February 6. So the best we can say is that this is just a week off for the late night program, which it occasionally takes throughout the year; this is the first time it is taking a full week off in 2025.

CBS’s other late night program, After Midnight hosted by Taylor Tomlinson, is also airing reruns all week. The other marquee late night talk shows, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! and NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, are still airing new episodes this week.

To watch The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS, you need one of these viewing options: a traditional pay-TV provider, a TV antenna, a live TV streaming service that carries CBS (i.e., Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV) or be a subscriber to Paramount Plus with Showtime, which gets you live access to your local CBS station. There’s no indication at this time when The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will be back with new episodes, but the earliest date would be Monday, February 17; though with that being a federal holiday (President’s Day), the show might delay things an extra day until February 18. It’s all TBD at the moment.

We all know the joy of a long weekend, but Stephen Colbert is opting for a short one as his The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is airing a special live episode on Sunday, January 26, at 11:35 pm ET/8:35 pm PT on CBS. This is all part of a special day of programming for the network around the NFL’s AFC Championship game.

The NFL playoff game between the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs, taking place at 6:30 pm ET/3:30 pm PT on January 26 on CBS, is expected to be one of the most watched TV events of the year, and CBS is hoping to keep viewers tuned to their channel with a series of special programs following the game. Immediately following the football coverage, CBS is airing the premiere episode of its anticipated new medical drama Watson, which stars Morris Chestnut as Dr. John Watson (of Sherlock Holmes & Watson) branching out on his own.

After a break for local news in most areas, the live episode of The Late Show will then take place. For this special episode, in addition to his usual humorous commentary on current events, Colbert is welcoming the University of Colorado head coach, NFL Hall of Famer and two-time Super Bowl champion Deion Sanders as a guest. Country star Kane Brown is also set to give a performance during the show.

With the live show airing on Sunday, viewers are going to have five straight nights of The Late Show, as the talk show is planning to air new episodes from Monday, January 27, through Thursday, January 30, as it does during a usual week.

One thing to note with all of this special programming on CBS on January 26, there is not going to be any episode of 60 Minutes this week. The news program is being preempted by the football game and then CBS’s subsequent special programming is going to take up any time that 60 Minutes might have otherwise been squeezed into.

To watch The Late Show with Stephen Colbert’s live episode on January 26, you must have access to your local CBS station. That can come via a traditional pay-TV provider, a TV antenna, a live TV streaming service (i.e. Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV) or Paramount Plus with Showtime, which lets you access a live simulcast of your local CBS station. If you don’t have any of these services or you just miss the live show when it’s on, you can stream The Late Show on-demand with any Paramount Plus subscription.

60 Minutes' in-depth reporting is once again being placed on the bench, as the news program is not airing a new episode on Sunday, January 26. In fact there will be no episode at all of 60 Minutes this week, and the reason is a familiar one: the NFL playoffs.

Specifically, the AFC Championship game. The game, which will decide who represents the conference in Super Bowl LIX on February 9, is being played between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs, with kickoff set to take place at 6:30 pm ET/3:30 pm PT.

Coverage of the game is not expected to conclude until 10 pm ET/7 pm PT, but rather than squeeze in a late edition of 60 Minutes, CBS is instead going to use the chance to preview one of its new shows, Watson, a medical drama that stars Morris Chestnut as Sherlock Holmes’ famous counterpart, airing at 10 pm ET/7 pm PT. Local news will follow Watson but then CBS has also announced they are going to air a special live episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert at 11:35 pm ET/8:35 pm PT on January 26.

60 Minutes has only had one new episode in January, which aired on January 12. Otherwise, the news program has been preempted for other programming; first by the Golden Globes on January 5 and last week for an NFL Divisional Round game.

It is not clear at this time if 60 Minutes is going to be back with a new episode on Sunday, February 2. There are no more NFL games airing on CBS after this week, but the network is the broadcast home of the Grammys on February 2. That awards ceremony is taking place at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT, which may impact the network’s decision to air a new episode of 60 Minutes.

Of course you can still watch previous episodes of 60 Minutes in place of the show not being on CBS this week. The last 14 seasons of 60 Minutes are available to stream right now on Paramount Plus (subscription required).

five-minuteSaturday Night Live’s 50th anniversary is a big deal, as over these last five decades the sketch show has become a cultural touchstone responsible for countless moments and catchphrases that we can all recall instantly. But how can you truly examine the different facets, successes and struggles of 50 years of SNL? Having one of the best documentary filmmakers around, Morgan Neville, overseeing a docuseries is a pretty good strategy.

Neville, the Oscar-winning filmmaker behind 20 Feet From Stardom, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, Steve! (Martin) and Piece by Piece, is the executive producer of SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night, a four-part docuseries now streaming exclusively on Peacock, in which each episode focuses on a different component of SNL and its history. “Five Minutes” has many SNL greats recall their five minute auditions to be on the show; “Written By: A Week Inside the SNL Writers Room” is an embedded look at the process of creating a show each week; “More Cowbell” is a deep dive into one of SNL’s most iconic sketches; and “Season 11: The Weird Year” is an examination of the season that nearly brought SNL to an end.

While Neville didn’t direct any of these episodes himself, he was heavily involved in the process of determining the areas of focus, something he says he has been preparing for practically all his life after he started watching the show, admittedly “way too young.”

“My dad, who loved comedy, started watching SNL right at the beginning. And not that long after, when I was a tiny kid, he would have me stay up and watch it,” Neville told WTW in an interview.

For reference, Neville was born in 1967, so when SNL premiered in 1975 he was eight years old. And of course, watching SNL at that time meant staying up to 11:30 at night, as catching up with the sketches on YouTube the next morning was several decades away.

“I felt like I was cool and mature… because this is something that adults loved but I also enjoyed it, too.”

When did you first get introduced to Saturday Night Live?

Morgan Neville: "When I was way too young. My dad, who loved comedy, started watching SNL right at the beginning. And not that long after, when I was a tiny kid, he would have me stay up and watch it. I think as a little kid, you know, things like the Samurai sketch and Mr. Bill, you know those original things — and Steve Martin on SNL in the 1970s — was something I, even as a little kid, totally connected to even though most of it went over my head. But then in high school it was more the Eddie Murphy years and then on and on. But I’ve always paid attention to SNL, I’ve always followed it. I feel like I’ve actually been working on this project for 40 years because that’s how long I’ve been studying SNL."

In the audition episode, Amy Poehler says people often identify “[their] cast.” Who do you consider to be your SNL cast?

MN: "I still feel like that first — [John] Belushi, [Dan] Aykroyd, [Bill] Murray and Gilda [Radner] and Laraine [Newman] and everybody — like that cast. It was just all new and I didn’t know what it was and if felt like it was over my head, but I felt like I was cool and mature, even as a seven year old [sic], because this is something that adults loved but I also enjoyed it too. So I bonded with that cast in a way.

"But I’ve come back to the show again and again. And now that you don’t necessarily have to be sitting in front of your TV at 11:30 on Saturday night. … I’ve always watched the show and now there’s this whole Sunday morning quarterbacking that goes on where you read all the articles where people break down this week’s episode, which sketches killed and which didn’t and the debate about it. That says so much to me about what SNL is in our culture, which is it’s like the utility company that we all have opinions about and we complain about but we all feel like we have ownership over it, in a way. There’s nothing else like that in, trying to think of media, really, barely. It’s one of the few bits of actual broadcasting left that people around the country — not just on the coasts or in the middle of the country — all still connect to."

I really liked how the focus of the episodes hit different steps of the process — from the auditions to getting the script ready, a specific scene to an entire season. How did you settle on those topics?

MN: "From the beginning, I said, as a comedy fan, rather than seeing another survey of SNL through the years, why don’t we do specific stories and do like deep dives, more in like a 30 for 30 kind of way. Let’s have different filmmakers — and some of my favorite filmmakers like Marshall Curry and Rob Alexander and Jason Zeldes and Neil Berkeley — come in and take ownership and make little movies about some specific story. But I wanted those collectively to give you some sense of 50 years of SNL because this is the 50th anniversary year. So we brainstormed up a bunch of ideas, but these four felt like they fit together so you’re not going to feel like 'but you never talked about anything. You never talked about the early 1980s,' or whatever.

"I felt like with this group of films we could touch a little bit on everything but we could still be really specific. So auditioning is really talking about performing and writing is the mechanics of how the show is made. But then like the cowbell idea was the idea I had at the very beginning, which is like can we just get super specific into one sketch, because when you get into that micro detail suddenly it opens up all this other kind of knowledge. And I loved them talking to the costume people and the props people and the sets people and understanding that part of the machinery that makes the show work."

You are a very well known documentary filmmaker, were you tempted at all to direct one of these episodes?

MN: "Oh yeah. And I’m still working on some big comedy projects, which I can’t talk about yet, but this definitely spurred me on to do more work that I’m working on now. I felt like I opened up a door with this project and I’m excited to see what’s going to come."

SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night is now streaming exclusively on Peacock. Saturday Night Live season 50 returns with new episodes on NBC on January 18.

Peacock will host the four episodes of the series and they'll all land on the same day; Thursday, January 16.

You can sign up for Peacock for $7.99 for the Peacock Premium tier. Despite the name this is the cheaper option and it makes you watch ads, but Peacock Premium Plus for $11.99 doesn't make you see them. There are also annual plans for $79.99 and $119.99 respectively.

Can you watch SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night in the UK or Australia

If you don't live in the US, say in Australia or the UK, then you might have trouble watching SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night.

No streaming information has been provided for Beyond Saturday Night outside the US, and it doesn't seem likely that this'll change. That's because SNL itself doesn't air much outside the US, so it seems unlikely that a documentary about it will.

Stephen Colbert must have been really good this year, because he and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert are getting the entire week of Christmas, December 23-27, off. If you didn’t catch the December 19 episode of The Late Show, Colbert announced in his opening monologue that it was going to be their last show of the year. That means not only are there not going to be new episodes this week, but The Late Show will also be off December 30, December 31, and we’d suspect January 1-3 as well (CBS has not released the official schedule for December 30-January 3, but we’d guess more reruns will be shown of the talk show in its time slot). If that's the case, the earliest possible date for a new episode of The Late Show is going to be Monday, January 6.

Stephen Colbert appears to be getting an early start to the holiday season as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is not airing any new episodes for the week of November 25-29; reruns of the late night talk show will air in its usual 11:35 pm ET/PT time slot on CBS though. In what should probably come as little surprise, it seems pretty clear that Thanksgiving being on Thursday, November 28, is the main reason Colbert and company are taking the week off.

The Late Show has taken week-long breaks around major holidays before, so while there is no official word from CBS as to why the hiatus is happening, it seems pretty straightforward. It’s also not the only CBS show to opt to go with reruns this week. Fellow late night show After Midnight is not new all week, nor is the FBI trio of shows, Matlock, Ghosts season 4, Elsbeth season 2, and Friday’s lineup of Blue Bloods season 14, Fire Country season 3 and S.W.A.T. season 8. However, one special show to note is that Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is airing its first-ever Thanksgiving episode on the day, November 28, which will feature appearances by Young Sheldon stars Zoe Perry, Raegan Revord, Annie Potts and Craig T. Nelson on the spinoff series.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is the only one of the other main network talk shows that is taking the whole week off. CBS has not released any information about when The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is going to be back with new episodes, but the earliest at this point would be Monday, December 2.

Jason Kelce is going from playing football at 1 pm to hosting a late-night, sport-centric talk show at 1 am with the ESPN show They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce. The former Philadelphia Eagle and likely future Hall of Famer is shepherding a limited-run late-night show that airs in conjunction with the end of the NFL regular season and the NFL playoffs.

This is the latest experiment with late-night television. In addition to the traditional staples like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel Live!, late night has seen Taylor Tomlinson tweak the format with After Midnight on CBS and John Mulaney do something completely his own with Everybody’s in LA on Netflix (the two sides are currently developing a new late-night show). Kelce’s big personality and sports focus could bring another new element to the world of late-night TV.

If that's too late (or early) for you, the full episode will be available on Jason Kelce's YouTube channel at 8 am on Saturday mornings, with replays airing on ESPN 2.

With its airing on various platforms, there are multiple ways that viewers can watch They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce. Jason Kelce played 13 seasons in the NFL, all for the Philadelphia Eagles. He is a Super Bowl winner and All-Pro center who is all but bound for the NFL Hall of Fame. He retired in 2024 and has since made the transition to being a media star.

Even before his playing career ended, he began The New Heights podcast with his brother Travis Kelce (currently playing for the Kansas City Chiefs), which is one of the most popular podcasts currently streaming. After he retired he joined ESPN as an analyst on Monday Night Football. Kelce was also the subject of a hit documentary, simply titled Kelce, on Prime Video, which you should watch, even if you’re not an Eagles fan.

Joining Kelce as part of the show each week will be the Philadelphia band SNACKTIME, which will play live music for the show.

The show’s format will position Kelce and his guests to dissect NFL topics and storylines, mainly focused on that weekend’s games, in both conventional and good-humoredly unconventional approaches including active participation from the fans in attendance.”

If you’re curious about the name, it is derived from the first full-length NFL Films project, They Call It Pro Football, from 1967. NFL Films is one of the producing partners for They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce.

They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce will be filmed at Philadelphia’s Union Transfer, a music venue that has been in operation since 2011, but is housed in a building that dates back to 1889.

If you live in or are going to be around the Philadelphia area on Friday nights when They Call It Late Night with Jason Kelce is filming, you will have the chance to be a part of the live audience. If you’re looking for your usual dose of Emmy-winning jokes and banter from Stephen Colbert via The Late Show With Stephen Colbert tonight, November 5, you’re out of luck. There will be no new episode of the series this evening on CBS, and unless you’re in the Pacific Time zone, there won’t even be a rerun episode airing.

So why the big interruption? Well, it all boils down to it being Election Day in the US, and CBS, along with NBC and ABC, planning to have news coverage of the election results. This of course means that there will also be no new episodes of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on NBC or Jimmy Kimmel Live! on ABC. Instead of late-night jokes and commentary on pop culture, TV watchers should buckle in for post-election coverage.

This election cycle in the US is hotly contested as the presidential race boils down to Vice President Kamala Harris and Former President Donald Trump. If polls are to be believed, this will be quite the nail-bitter contest. Not only that, but with the US House of Representatives and the US Senate both up for grabs, there’s a lot at stake for Americans as they look to the next four years. Because of the gravity of it all, some late-night viewers may not mind the interruption in regularly scheduled programming.

With all that being said, fans of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert shouldn’t fret about a long break in new episodes as one is scheduled to air on Wednesday, November 6. Colbert will be joined then by special guest George Stephanopoulos and musical guest Lenny Kravitz.

Both Jimmys are also back on November 6, as Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel are set to air new episodes of their respective shows. On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the comedian will be joined by Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie Perez and musical guest Bailey Zimmerman. Kimmel will host Jon Favreau, Jon Lovett, Dan Pfeiffer, Tommy Vietor and musical guest Alessia Cara on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Now for those who absolutely need their daily fix of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, previously aired episodes are available to stream on Paramount Plus.

It certainly seems like The Late Show with Stephen Colbert was planning on taking the entire week of October 7-11 off, but a very special guest may have put a wrench into those plans: 2024 Democratic presidential nominee and current Vice President Kamala Harris is going to be a guest on The Late Show on Tuesday, October 8. That will be the only new episode of The Late Show all week, as CBS will air reruns the rest of the week at its usual time of 11:35 pm ET/PT.

Colbert announced Harris would appear on The Late Show on Sunday, October 6, via his social media channels, with Paramount confirming the news in an official press release on October 7. Harris will be the only guest appearing on the October 8 episode. This marks the first late night talk show appearance by Harris since she secured the Democratic nomination for president, but it will be her seventh appearance on The Late Show since her first appearance in 2018 when she was a Senator.

But again, the rest of the week The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is not going to be new, airing reruns instead. There was no official reason given by CBS, so it was likely just a naturally planned break in the late night show's run.

In order to watch Harris' appearance on The Late Show live this week, you must have access to CBS. That can be done through either a traditional pay-TV provider, a TV antenna, live TV streaming services (Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV) or Paramount Plus with Showtime. All Paramount Plus subscribers can watch the episode on-demand the next day, as well as The Late Show reruns airing this week (or any past episode of the talk show).

This is actually the second appearance of Vice President Harris on one of CBS's marquee programs. On Monday, October 7, she and her running mate, Governor Tim Walz, are sitting down for exclusive interviews for a 60 Minutes primetime election special.

CBS's other late night show, After Midnight, is also on hiatus and airing reruns this week as host Taylor Tomlinson begins her latest nationwide comedy tour. But as for the rest of late night programming, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Daily Show are all new.

It is unclear at this point when The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is going to return with new episodes.

60 Minutes did not air in its usual Sunday night episode on CBS, but for good reason, because the news program has a primetime election special airing on Monday, October 7, at 8 pm ET/PT. Highlighting the program is an exclusive interview with Democratic presidential and vice presidential nominees Kamala Harris and Tim Walz, as well as additional segments focusing on election issues.

60 Minutes correspondent Bill Whitaker joined Harris and Walz on the campaign trail to conduct in-depth interviews to gain insight into Vice President Harris and Governor Walz's platform priorities and values, as well as what they believe voters should know about their choice on election day, November 5. It was originally planned that Republican nominees Donald Trump and JD Vance would also participate in the special broadcast, but the former president dropped out of the interview last week. Scott Pelley, who was going to interview Trump and Vance, will address their absence as part of the episode.

To help fill the hour out, 60 Minutes will now air a report where Pelley visits Maricopa County in Arizona and speaks with their election leadership to discuss measures to secure and criticisms of the balloting process ahead of the election. Lesley Stahl will close out the program with a reflection on the situation in the Middle East one year after the Hamas attack on Israel.

In order to watch the 60 Minutes primetime election special live, you must have access to CBS. The good news is that there are multiple options to get the channel. The first couple are old school: either a traditional pay-TV cable provider or a TV antenna that receives local station signals. Then there are the streaming options, both live TV streaming services (Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, YouTube TV) that give you access to CBS and other channels, and Paramount Plus with Showtime, which allows subscribers to watch their local CBS channel live on the streaming platform. The episode will be available to watch on-demand for all Paramount Plus subscribers.

The rest of CBS's Monday night primetime lineup on October 7 includes an episode of The Prices Is Right at Night at 9 pm ET/PT and then a rerun of NCIS at 10 pm ET/PT (NCIS season 22 airs its season premiere next week, October 14, along with the new series NCIS: Origins).

Vice President Harris is going to make another special appearance on CBS later this week, as she will be a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, October 8.

As the US inches closer to the 2024 presidential election, the time has come for the second presidential debate of the season, hosted by ABC News and airing on Tuesday, September 10, at 9 pm ET/6 pm PT. 

While the first occurred on June 27 between the then-presumed Democratic nominee President Joe Biden and the Republican frontrunner former President Donald Trump, this go-around the bright lights will shine on Vice President Kamala Harris and Trump, as both have officially secured their respective party's nomination. This will be their first time coming face-to-face to verbally spar on camera, which is drumming up plenty of anticipation ahead of Election Day on November 5. Especially considering, this is the only scheduled debate between the two as of publication.

The debate airs live on all the big four broadcast networks, ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC. These broadcast networks are available with a traditional cable/satellite TV provider or via a TV antenna that receives local station signals. You can also access these channels via a live TV streaming service such as Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV (with the exception of CBS, and in some areas ABC) and YouTube TV. 

Additionally, CNN, MSNBC and Fox News are also showcasing tonight's debate if you prefer more spirited coverage. These cable channels are also available with a cable/satellite TV package or a subscription to a live streaming service like Fubo TV, Hulu with Live TV and YouTube TV.

If you cut ties to traditional cable and don't subscribe to a live TV service, no worries, you can still watch the debate.

Other things to know about the Harris vs Trump debate

Looks like Stephen Colbert is squeezing in one more vacation before summer comes to an end, as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is not airing new episodes for the week of August 26-30. Instead, reruns of the late-night talk show are going to air all week on CBS at 11:35 pm ET/PT.

The Late Show has taken multiple weeks off this summer, with this being its fifth week off since Memorial Day in late May by our count. It's not overly surprising however, considering the show produced four live shows last week, August 19-22, from Chicago in conjunction with the Democratic National Convention and we have the final holiday of the summer, Labor Day, coming up this weekend. 

While it's not confirmed if The Late Show will return with new episodes next week (September 2-6), it would make sense that the show will be on more consistently as the fall TV season gets underway.

Colbert isn't the only late-night staple that has been taking extended time off this summer. His CBS partner Taylor Tomlinson and her show After Midnight has been off for multiple weeks as she is currently promoting a new comedy tour. Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been on and off with new episodes, though Kimmel himself has mostly taken the summer off and guest hosts have been filling in. Then The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers have also had their share of breaks over the summer.

Stephen Colbert is on the move this week, as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has picked up shop from New York City and is taking residence in Chicago for the week of August 19-22, where the Democratic National Convention (DNC) is taking place. In addition to the new location, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is going to air live, but will it be live everywhere?

The late-night talk show typically airs at 11:35 pm ET/PT on CBS, though it is taped earlier in the day. There is no information at this time on who is going to be appearing on the Thursday show, and CBS was sure to indicate that these guests are subject to change.

One could only assume we're also going to get to see Colbert take in some of the Chicago sites, as The Late Show's Instagram page features Colbert at the iconic Wrigley Field, home to the Chicago Cubs.

Whatever time The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is airing where you live, you need to have access to your local CBS station to watch it live. CBS is available with traditional pay-TV providers or live TV streaming services (i.e. Fubo, Hulu with Live TV or YouTube TV). You can also catch the show on-demand if you subscribe to Paramount Plus.

This Morning star Dermot O'Leary has landed a huge new job away from the ITV daytime show. 

Dermot will host his own game show, Silence Is Golden, which will land on UKTV's Dave next year. 

Silence is Golden will see the studio give the audience £250,000 to share between them. The catch is that they can't make a sound as they watch a host of comedy acts do everything in their power to make them break their silence.

Dermot, who has been with ITV for 17 years, will be joined by three returning comedy captains, one of whom has been confirmed as former Taskmaster star Katherine Ryan, and around 30 comedians who will all try their best to make the crowd laugh. The more sounds they get out of the audience, all of whom will be mic’ed up, the further down they'll bring the prize pot. Should it get all the way down to zero, the comedians get to give money to charity.

Speaking of his new gameshow with a difference, Dermot said: "I'm so looking forward to Silence Is Golden. When a show like this falls into your lap, you can't quite believe your luck.

"I'm looking forward to having lots of fun with the audience, our comedians and assorted cast of regulars, all trying to make the audience laugh, gasp and giggle."

Dermot has had plenty of experience hosting game shows over the years, presenting  ITV1's The X Factor for 15 years and he has also fronted shows like Big Brother's Little Brother on E4. 

Silence is Golden's Executive producer Richard Bacon said in a statement: “The feeling when you’re not allowed to laugh at a funeral? It’s that – the game show.”

While UKTV's Mark Iddon added: "We’re really excited to bring Silence is Golden to Dave. Dermot is the perfect host to hold this chaotically ambitious show together and we think our audiences are going to embrace this subversive and unpredictable format.

"Silence is Golden is the only show where staying silent is worth its weight in gold. It’s the quietest way to lose a fortune you’ll ever see and it’s time for our studio audience to put their money where their mouth isn’t."

Looks like Stephen Colbert is taking some summer vacay time, as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on CBS is not going to be airing new episodes the entire week of June 24-28. Instead, reruns of the late-night show are going to be airing in its usual time slot of 11:35 pm ET/PT. But why is Colbert taking the week off?

CBS has not shared any specific reason for The Late Show's hiatus, which would seem to indicate that this was a planned break for Colbert and his team. He's not alone; his follow-up late-night show After Midnight is off for the week, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is also not airing new episodes and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver is taking a multiple-week hiatus. The only major late-night show still airing new episodes this week is Jimmy Kimmel Live!, though Kimmel is taking the week off with Martin Short stepping into host with many of his Only Murders in the Building co-stars set to appear, including Steve Martin and Selena Gomez. 

It’ll be a shame that Colbert won't be on hand to offer his critiques of the first presidential debate of 2024 between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump that airs on Thursday, June 27. With a lot of time before the election though, there's still plenty of time for him to offer jokes about the whole process.

Sunak v Starmer: The ITV Debate is the first head-to-head debate before the General Election, which takes place on Thursday, July 4.

With Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer ahead in the polls, he will be extra keen to ensure he doesn't make any big gaffs, while Prime Minister Rishi Sunak will be hoping this will provide a chance to kickstart his campaign.

Michael Jermey, ITV's Director of News and Current Affairs said: "Millions of viewers value the election debates. They provide a chance to see and hear the party leaders set out their pitch to the country, debate directly with each other and take questions from voters. ITV is pleased to be broadcasting the first debate in this year's election campaign."

Meanwhile, the next debate head-to-head debate between Rishi Sunak and Sir Keir Starmer is taking place on the BBC on Wednesday, June 26.

Sunak v Starmer: The ITV Debate is on ITV1 on Tuesday, June 4 at 9 pm and will end at 10.10 pm. It is followed by The ITV Election Interviews, which sees Anushka Asthana invite the leader of the Liberal Democrats Ed Davey, SNP leader John Swinney, Reform UK leader Richard Tice and co-leaders of the Green Party Carla Denyer and Adrian Ramsay to answer her questions in extended interviews. If you're in the mood for irony, the Sunak v Starmer debate is in the same slot as the first episode of Love Island 2024 was shown the previous night!

Wondering why the monologue on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert seems dated this week? That's because CBS's late-night talk show is not airing new episodes for the week of May 27-31, opting for reruns each night at 11:35 pm ET/PT. But why?

An official reason has not been given by CBS, but the most likely explanation is that Colbert and his staff are taking advantage of Monday, May 27 being the Memorial Day holiday and getting an early week of summer vacation in. The Late Show is not the only late-night program doing this, as The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live and CBS's other late-night program, After Midnight, are all expected to take at least some time off this week. Popular cable late-night show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver also took off on Sunday, May 26, for the holiday weekend. These types of breaks are built into late-night schedules to give hosts and their teams some time off throughout the year. 

But as we said, episodes of The Late Show are still going to air at their usual time of 11:35 pm ET/PT, they'll just be episodes that aired earlier in May. Here is a full look at the schedule of episodes airing from Monday, May 27, to Friday, May 31:

If none of those episodes grab your attention, then you can go back and watch other past episodes of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on-demand with a Paramount Plus subscription. There are currently a few options for would-be subscribers interested in the streamer. 

CBS has not released a schedule beyond May 31, so we don't definitively know as of right now when The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is set to return with new episodes. However, the expectation is that the show will be back on Monday, June 3.

After airing new episodes Monday through Wednesday this week, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has wrapped things up a day earlier than usual, as the talk show is not airing a new episode on Thursday, April 11, on CBS. What's more, while a rerun is going to be shown, that is getting a later start than usual, airing at 11:50 pm ET/PT rather than the usual 11:35 pm ET/PT. So why is there no The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on April 11?

Perhaps Colbert is a golf fan, because coverage of the 2024 Masters is behind this schedule shift. Golf's first major of the year teed off on Thursday, April 11, and while live first and second-round coverage is airing on ESPN, CBS is going to have a nightly highlight package airing at 11:35 pm ET/PT, when The Late Show would normally begin.

With the schedule change, The Late Show opted to take the night off, instead airing an episode that previously aired on March 13, featuring Paul Rudd, Cecilia Vega, Jon Hamm and Amy Sedaris. However, for fans of CBS's other late-night program, After Midnight, its Thursday, April 11 new episode is still airing, though also later than usual, 12:52 am ET/PT (technically Friday morning).

CBS is going to keep this little schedule tweak on Friday, April 12, but both The Late Show and After Midnight traditionally air reruns on Friday nights, so it's not replacing a new episode of The Late Show like it is on April 11.

For those interested, CBS is set to take over the live Masters coverage on Saturday, April 13, for the third round and then again on Sunday, April 14, for the final round, continuing — as Jim Nantz reminds us each spring — "a tradition unlike any other." However, if you've cut the cord from traditional live TV providers, you can stream CBS's coverage of The Masters on Paramount Plus, as long as you opt to sign up for the Paramount Plus with Showtime plan.

As of right now, CBS has not shared any details about whether or not The Late Show is going to return with new episodes next week. Usually, details on the upcoming week's slate of shows are released on Fridays.

If 11:50 pm is too late for you to stay up to watch The Late Show tonight, even with it being a rerun, you can watch episodes of The Late Show on-demand any time on Paramount Plus.

If Stephen Colbert's monologues don't seem as timely this week there's a reason for that, as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is not airing new episodes from March 18-22 on CBS. Instead reruns are scheduled to run at the show's usual time, 11:35 pm ET/PT on CBS, Monday through Wednesday, though some viewers may not get any episode of The Late Show on either Thursday or Friday.

To put everyone at ease, there's nothing to indicate this is health related like Colbert's extended absence in November and December of 2023, when the host suffered a ruptured appendix. This looks like a fully planned break for the talk show, likely because of the 2024 March Madness college basketball tournament.

With tournament games airing on CBS starting on Thursday, March 21, the basketball action is likely to eat into when The Late Show would normally air. The last game airing on CBS on both Thursday and Friday is scheduled for 9:40 pm ET/6:40 pm PT (though it’s entirely possible the games could start later). East Coast viewers aren't likely to get The Late Show then at all on Thursday or Friday; those in different time zones should still get reruns barring the games going way longer than expected.

It hasn't been confirmed by CBS at this time, but this could be a multiple week break for The Late Show, as March Madness games will once again take place Thursday and Friday the week of March 25-29 that could impact Colbert from hosting new episodes.

CBS's other late night program, After Midnight, is also going to be airing reruns for the week of March 18-22. Meanwhile, primetime shows on Thursday (Young Sheldon season 7, Ghosts season 3, So Help Me Todd season 2, Elsbeth) and Friday (S.W.A.T. season 7, Fire Country season 2, Blue Bloods season 14) are also not airing new episodes this week.

Saturday Night Takeaway was back on screens this weekend for its 20th series, but there was one particular section of last night's kick-off show that left viewers outraged. 

During the ITV show, hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly played a prank on Britain's Got Talent boss Simon Cowell, who was shown in a clip riding a bike without a helmet. Considering that Simon famously injured himself on an e-bike back in 2020, viewers were less than impressed with his antics and took to social media to air their distaste. 

One wrote on X (formerly Twitter), 'Currently watching #SaturdayNightTakeaway and I'm surprised to see Simon Cowell, a person who injured himself badly on an e-bike, not wearing a helmet. This is him genuinely out for a normal bike ride, pre-shenanigans.'

To which another fan replied, 'Needs knee pads too.'

While another said on the social media platform, 'Considering the guy has had accidents on his bike; breaking his back, his arm.... and other injuries, im surprised at the lack of protective gear or even a helmet.....??'

While another commented after the section aired, 'Simon cycling without a helmet as well. Not setting a good example.'

Back in the studio, Simon was quick to acknowledge his mistake after watching the video, telling hosts Ant and Dec that his son Eric also questioned his lack of a helmet. Simon told the pair that his son had asked him on the morning of the prank, "Aren’t you going to wear a helmet?"

In a move that was sure to enrage viewers further, Simon then sheepishly admitted that he told a white lie to his son and said he was planning to wear a helmet, before changing his mind.

The previous e-bike accident social media users are referring to was an incident in Malibu, California, in the summer of 2020 where the music mogul had to undergo six hours of surgery following serious injuries. 

Make sure you wear that helmet next time, Simon!

Saturday Night Takeaway continues next Saturday 2nd March on ITV. 

Last night's episode of Saturday Night Live was always going to be a tricky one to navigate. After a few weeks of wondering "When is the next episode of SNL?" the sketch-comedy show returned on February 24 with a brand-new episode, this one hosted by a controversial comedian: Shane Gillis. 

Once upon a time, the 36-year-old comic was actually a member of the SNL cast back in 2019—that it, until recordings of him using racist and homophobic language resurfaced online and he was fired a mere four days into his show tenure. However, Saturday Night Live having a history of courting contentious guest hosts, from Elon Musk to Donald Trump, Gillis was invited back to Studio 8H as a host this week, with musical guest 21 Savage. 

And for the most part, it was a largely forgettable episode of the program, save for that disastrous opening monologue. As is tradition when most stand-up comedians host the show, Gillis decided to forgo any song-and-dance numbers or high-production bits and instead chose to simply grab a mic and tell some jokes as his way of welcoming viewers in for this week's edition. 

He addressed his firing early on, joking: “Most of you probably have no idea who I am. I was actually—I was fired from this show a while ago. But if, you know, don’t look that up, please, if you don’t know who I am. Please, don’t Google that. It’s fine. Don’t even worry about it.” However, despite seemingly wanting to quickly sidestep that scandal, Gillis then segued into his usual brand of politically incorrect comedy, including jokes about being gay and punchlines about his niece with Down syndrome. 

With only a smattering of laughs, the in-studio audience seemed very uneasy with Gillis' jokes—many fans noted that the band onstage behind the comic barely cracked a smile throughout the monologue—so much so that the host broke from his routine to acknowledge that his button-pushing humor wasn't made for NBC: “Look, I don’t have any material that can be on TV, all right? I’m trying my best. Also, this place is extremely well-lit. I can see everyone not enjoying it.”

SNL fans are roasting that Shane Gillis monologue

Along with that less-than-glowing reception from the studio audience, Saturday Night Live fans quickly took to social media with their own reactions to Shane Gillis' exceedingly "awkward" monologue:

Ant and Dec are returning for the 20th season of Saturday Night Takeaway, which has been described as a "final-for-now".

After entertaining the nation since 2002, with a short pause between 2009 and 2013, Ant and Dec have decided the 20th season is going to be the last one for now, with the future of the series uncertain.

They're taking a break to spend time with their respective families, but have promised that season 20 will be a great send-off, and will include them revisiting an old Undercover victim to prank them for a second time.

Unsuspecting Simon Cowell is back for the new season, where Ant and Dec decide to prank him again, echoing when they got him the first time back in 2003, which is a fitting end for the segment. 

In a press release confirming Simon's return, Dec said: "We are ending the Undercovers where we started… with Simon Cowell! Our first ever Undercover was on Simon in LA when he was a judge on American Idol.

"So we've gone back and got Simon Cowell again. We went out to LA and gave him the day from hell whilst he was judging on America's Got Talent."

Ant added: "It was even sweeter getting him the second time around because we also got him during his downtime as he’s riding his bike around Malibu, it’s very, very funny."

Meanwhile, in an interview with us, Ant and Dec spilled the beans on how the idea came about, with Ant saying: "We want it to be the biggest send-off, a celebration of the last 20-odd years. And who better for the final Undercover than Simon Cowell? 

"He was one of the first celebs we pranked in 2003, posing as rappers at the American Idol auditions in Los Angeles. We decided to finish Undercover by getting him for the 20th series."

Dec teased that he fell for it a second time, adding: "He was not happy! We had different disguises but got him. We appealed to his ego, saying he was the first and now the last, so that calmed him down a bit."

A first-look clip of Simon's new prank has been shared to YouTube, where they're secretly watching Simon as he's riding his bike. They instruct a man dressed as a police officer to start tailing him, and it goes from there!

Lorraine Kelly has responded to a popular Twitter account that has been keeping a record of her absences from her self-titled morning show, Lorraine.

The presenter has hosted her own ITV program since 2010, having previously appeared on morning shows like Good Morning Britain and GMTV, but recently fans have noticed she's been absent from her show a lot more in recent weeks.

This prompted one user to create an account called Where is Lorraine? using the handle @LorraineKWatch, which currently has over 12,000 followers. The account describes itself as a "Satire account tracking Lorraine Kelly’s attendance", where it lets people know whether or not she's presenting her show that day.

The account has gotten big enough that it's got the attention of Lorraine herself, who has spoken about it during a recent interview, where she admitted she's been away for a little while due to family reasons.

Responding to the account, Lorraine told BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour: "The amount of space I occupy in people's heads is quite bizarre. It's hilarious. It’s fine, I don’t mind, I don’t care. I probably would have cared before, but I really don’t now, it’s absolutely fine."

She ended on a serious note, though, saying: "To be honest… you should never comment on things like that if you don’t know what’s really going on in people’s lives. But I am having to take quite a few Fridays off, because my mum’s really not well.”

The @LorraineKWatch account has responded to her interview, stressing that they never meant for the account to be malicious, and that it was "all for fun".

Linking to the radio interview, they said: "It feels apt to say now that of course we respect that Lorraine may need more time away to look after her mother. There is, and never has been, any malice behind this account. It is all for fun and we are happy that Lorraine seems to understand that."

During Lorraine's absence from her show, presenter Ranvir Singh has been covering on her behalf, with Christine Lampard also taking over for certain episodes of the program.

Recently, Lorraine was unmasked as Owl on the hit ITV singing competition The Masked Singer and has recently published a book called The Island Swimmer, which she has been promoting.

This Morning has confirmed that Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard are the new permanent hosts, taking over from Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield.

Fronting the Friday show on Friday, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary opened by welcoming the new regular hosts, confirming the exciting news that the duo would be presenting regularly going forward.

Speaking on the show, Alison said: "We’re so, so happy that they are joining the family! Ben and Cat, this is going to be great isn’t it."

She also confirmed they'd be joining officially in the spring, saying: "The secret is out! And they're joining us in March so we’re looking forward to that."

The news comes after long-time hosts Holly and Phillip departed the daytime magazine show in May and October 2023 respectively. Since then, we've seen some rotating hosts filling in, but as of March, Ben and Cat will be the permanent ones.

It was also confirmed on social media, with a video of Ben walking down the familiar This Morning production corridor and placing a new photo of Cat on the wall, before turning to the camera as the photo comes to life, with Cat giving viewers one of her signature winks.

Speaking about joining, Cat said: "This Morning is a national institution. Whenever it’s on, it’s like having your friends over — funny, smart, silly, heartfelt, informative and joyful — like all the greatest friendships! 

"This Morning is and always will be the viewer’s show. Ben and I both know how much people love it, and with the help of an amazing team of people, we’re going to do our best to take care of it."

Ben Shephard added: "This really feels like a very special moment for Cat and I to be part of the next chapter of This Morning. It’s an honour to be trusted with the reins, join Alison and Dermot and all the team that work on and off screen and do such a great job. 

"For the last ten years I’ve been waking up with our ITV daytime audience on GMB and I now look forward to spending time with Cat, welcoming the viewers home after the school run or from their early morning routines, with a cup of tea and a mix of everything that makes This Morning so loved."

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.

Jon Stewart is returning to The Daily Show tonight, Monday, February 12, at 11 pm ET/PT on Comedy Central. Stewart, who had hosted The Daily Show for 16 years between 1999 and 2015, returns to the show on a once-per-week basis to help cover the 2024 US presidential election.

Stewart will host The Daily Show every Monday from now through the end of the 2024 election, which takes place on Tuesday, November 5. There's little doubt he will have plenty of headlines to sink his teeth into over that time.

Since Trevor Noah exited The Daily Show in September 2022, the nightly news satire has run through a myriad of guest hosts. Rather than settle on a new permanent host — at least for the time being — Comedy Central is rotating hosting duties between Stewart and its current roster of correspondents, which include Desi Lydic, Ronny Chieng and Michael Kosta.

For his part, after his departure from The Daily Show in 2015, Stewart's biggest projects were the 2020 political comedy movie Irresistible, starring Steve Carrell and Rose Byrne, which he wrote and directed, and Apple TV Plus' The Problem with Jon Stewart, which saw him return to his Daily Show roots by interviewing public figures and commentating on critical issues of the day. However, The Problem with Jon Stewart was canceled by Apple TV Plus in 2023.

Stewart has also popped up a number of times on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, as the two go way back with Colbert getting his start as a correspondent on The Daily Show. In fact, as part of The Late Show's special Super Bowl episode on February 11, the two reunited as Stewart prepared to make his move back to The Daily Show.

J.Lo took to the stage at Studio 8H for live performances of two tracks off her upcoming ninth studio album, This Is Me...Now, which is due out on February 16 alongside an accompanying "visual album," This Is Me...Now: A Love Story. The second performance, a bloom-sprinkled rendition of the album's title ballad, went off without a hitch, but it was during her first of the night—a high-energy, high-kicking delivery of her new song "Can't Get Enough" with Latto and Redman, both of whom joined Lopez onstage—that the singer-actress suffered a little on-air hair malfunction.

In the midst of the number's vigorous choreography, SNL viewers could see one of Lopez's hair extensions coming loose on her head, but rather than let the beauty blunder slow her down, the 54-year-old pop star simply yanked the track from her scalp and didn't miss a beat.  

Fans were quick to comment on the moment over on social media, with many praising the performer's "the show must go on" mentality. "JLO ate up that performance," one Twitter user proclaimed. 

It was an ironic moment, especially as this week's SNL host, The Bear star Ayo Edebiri, recently drummed up some controversy after a 2020 "Scam Goddess" podcast clip of the actress jokingly disparaging Lopez's music career resurfaced in the week leading up to their respective Saturday Night Live appearances. 

Last night's episode addressed the potential awkwardness of their match-up during a "Why'd You Say It?" sketch, where Ayo's character proclaimed: “It’s wrong to leave mean comments or post comments just for clout or run your mouth on a podcast and you don’t consider the impact because you’re 24 and stupid,” she said. "But I think I speak for everyone when I say from now on, we’re going to be a lot more thoughtful about what we post online.”

This Morning has teased a replacement host for Holly Willoughby, with radio host Sian Welby being tipped to host from the iconic sofa full-time.

In recent months, the magazine show hasn't had a fixed presenting duo with hosts like Josie Gibson, Alison Hammond, Rylan Clark, and Emma Willis all taking part, but if reports are anything to go by, this could change soon.

ITV has hinted that a new approach to the show has been found with Dermot O’Leary being paired with Sian Welby, who fronts Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp and Chris Stark.

Speaking about Sian, a source told MailOnline: "Sian has many years of presenting experience under her belt, she is very much earmarked as being a star of the future. She has done really well already on This Morning so the bosses thought it was time to give her the reins to the whole show rather than just segments. Viewers love a new, fresh face on the show so everyone involved in it is really excited."

Meanwhile, Sian has spoken about the exciting news, with a clip shared on Instagram showing her revealing the news that she'll be joining Dermot on presenting duties.

Being interviewed by Josie Gibson, she admitted she didn't know if she was ready and Dermot joked "Well I hope you are because you're presenting with me!"

Despite rumours, an ITV spokesperson downplayed the suggestion, saying that “she is just hosting next week Monday to Thursday", so we will have to wait and see what happens in the long run.

Meanwhile, Holly Willoughby continues to host Dancing on Ice where she's paired with Stephen Mulhern. She decided to leave This Morning after 14 years in October last year, and released a statement explaining her reasons.

She said: "To everyone who has ever worked on the show over the years, thank you so so much. This is such a difficult goodbye, you are incredible and I forever will be proud of what we've done together. Thank you to everyone at ITV for being supportive. To every guest who has sat on our sofa, thank you.

"Most of all, thank you to the wonderful viewers. You've been so loyal, so supportive and the very best company every day. Richard and Judy said 'We only look after this show, it will always belong to the viewers'."

She added: "It's been an honour to just be part of its story and I know this story has many chapters left to go. Sadly, however, I now feel I have to make this decision for me and my family. I will miss you all so much."

Saturday Night Live season 49 is in the midst of its annual holiday break, which has fans wondering: when does SNL come back? 

NBC has been airing re-runs of the iconic sketch show ever since the most recent episode aired, the 2023 Christmas edition on Saturday, December 16, hosted by Barbie star Kate McKinnon and featuring Billie Eilish as the musical guest. As has become custom, the comedy show has since been on a holiday hiatus over those sleepy Christmas and New Year's weeks, giving the cast and crew a much-deserved break from that infamously grueling production schedule. 

But you won't have to wait for new episodes for too long: Jacob Elordi, star of 2023 films like Priscilla and Saltburn, will usher in the new year by making his SNL debut as host of the first episode of 2024, airing on Saturday, January 20 at 11:35 pm ET on NBC. Singer-actress Reneé Rapp—who plays Regina George in the 2024 Mean Girls remake of the Tony-nominated Broadway musical—will serve as musical guest.

Since Saturday Night Live airs on NBC, anyone with a traditional cable subscription or TV antenna can tune in to their local NBC station to watch the show when it is live. If you're a cable-cutter, a number of live TV streaming services also carry NBC, including Fubo, Hulu with Live TV, Sling TV and YouTube TV. Or if you're a Peacock Premium Plus subscriber, you can stream SNL live on the service during the episode or catch-up next day with a regular Peacock subscription. 

There have been eight new episodes of season 49 so far, kicking off in October with returning SNL alum Pete Davidson as host and musical guest Ice Spice. The time between seasons was longer than usual this time around, as the WGA writers' strike that began in May caused production to wrap early on SNL season 48.

In the weeks since, Studio 8H has welcomed the hosting talents of reggaeton superstar Bad Bunny, stand-up comic Nate Bargatze, Wonka lead Timothée Chalamet, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom's Jason Momoa, Poor Things star Emma Stone and Ferrari actor Adam Driver. (And fans have been putting in their two cents about who they think is the best host of season 49 so far.)

We don't yet know who will join Elordi as a 2024 host of Saturday Night Live, as those announcements will be made weekly, but we can expect to get an update during the first episode of the year on January 20. Stay tuned!

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is going with reruns for a second straight week, as there will be no new episodes of the talk show airing between Monday, December 4, and Friday, December 8. The decision was made so host Stephen Colbert could continue to recover from his recent medical procedure.

On Monday, November 27, Colbert shared a message on Threads that he underwent surgery for a ruptured appendix, which must have occurred sometime after his last show on Wednesday, November 22, wrapped up for the Thanksgiving holiday. Colbert showed he still has his funny bone in the message:

"Sorry to say that I have to cancel our shows this week. I'm sure you're thinking, 'Turkey overdose, Steve? Gravy boat capsize?' Actually, I'm recovering from surgery for a ruptured appendix. I'm grateful to my doctors for their care and to Evie and the kids for putting up with me. Going forward, all emails to my appendix will be handled by my pancreas."

Then on Sunday, December 3, he posted again on Threads saying that he is following the advice of his doctors and "continuing to rest and heal."

While it was previously believed Colbert would be able to return December 4 for new episodes, and guests had been announced, the decision to postpone for his return means that there will be another week of reruns in the talk show's usual time slot of 11:35 pm ET/PT on CBS.

This is the second time that Colbert has had a medical incident forcing him to cancel multiple shows in a week. Back in October, just shortly after returning from the end of the writers strike, he was diagnosed with COVID and had to cancel shows as a result.

The hope now will be that Colbert can return for the week of December 11-15.

The last time that David Letterman was on The Late Show was May 20, 2015. Exactly eight and a half years later, the long-time late night host returns to the Ed Sullivan Theater for the first time as a guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, as he is the main guest for the Monday, November 20, episode that airs at 11:35 pm ET/PT on CBS.

Letterman was the host of The Late Show from August 1993 to May 2015 and became a beloved TV figure, with bits like his top 10 lists and some truly memorable celebrity interactions (Drew Barrymore climbing on top of his desk and Joaquin Phoenix's commitment to his rapper ploy chief among them). 

Since Letterman left The Late Show he has hosted the Netflix show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, where he does in-depth interviews with some of the biggest names in entertainment and culture, like Barack Obama, Jay-Z, Malala Yousafazi, Will Smith, Billie Eilish and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. The latest edition, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction season 4, is available to stream on Netflix right now along with the first three seasons.

It won't just be David Letterman appearing on the November 20 episode of The Late Show though, as the show will also feature a musical performance by the band The National. Apparently, Letterman reached out to The National himself and asked them to appear with him on the show. Letterman's love for the band is on the record, jokingly (in an endearing way) describing them as "your saddest friend's favorite band."

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert knows that Letterman's return is a big deal, as Colbert himself shared the news during the November 16 episode of the late night talk show.

Colbert of course was the one who took over The Late Show directly after Letterman stepped down, so it should be fun to see the two hosts talk about the job they've shared.

Letterman is just the first big name guest to be appearing on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert the week of November 20. On Tuesday, November 21, Bradley Cooper, whose Maestro premieres in movie theaters on November 22, is on the show along with world-famous chef José Andrés, who will be giving a cooking demo ahead of Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 23. Then on Wednesday, November 22, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes star Peter Dinklage and comedian Tig Notaro are set to appear.

Wednesday, November 22, is going to be the last new show of the week for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert because of the holiday.

Cat Deeley could be in the running to take over from Holly Willoughby full-time after she presented This Morning for three days.

Cat Deeley joined Rylan Clark on presenting duties, while regular co-host Josie Gibson is taking part in I'm a Celebrity 2023. 

Her stint on the magazine show seemed to go down well with fans, and now reports are suggesting she's been in high demand and producers are interested in getting her involved in the show on a more regular basis.

According to The Sun, sources at ITV claimed producers have been keen to get Cat on the sofa “for a while” after Holly quit last month.

A source said: "She takes live TV in her stride and is really witty and personable with guests. She’s comfortable interviewing both pop stars and politicians.

They added: "Cat would be a safe captain to steady the ship."

Meanwhile, another insider suggested to the publication that Cat might present alongside her husband, comedian Patrick Kielty, and that the broadcaster might be open to considering another married couple.

An insider reportedly told the site: “Cat and Pat has a great ring to it. A married couple hosting This Morning again would be the dream , although to just have Cat would be perfect too."

Cat Deeley is well known for hosting shows like Fame Academy and Stars in Their Eyes, in the 2000s, and has recently presented So You Think You Can Dance on FOX in the US.

But she has not yet confirmed if she is interested in hosting This Morning in a regular slot, leaving fans wondering if she is considering it.

During her third day as host, she said: "It's kind of my last day today, you're finishing me off, that's it, I'm done. I'm done, I'm cooked, I'm done. I'm going home and I'm taking my mug with me!"

However, Wednesday's co-host Craig Doyle joked: "Ah, you'll be back Deeley, you'll be back!"

To which Cat cryptically said: "Do you think? We've got a very busy show for you today."

Earlier this year, Holly Willoughby quit This Morning after 14 years, saying she had made the decision for her and her family. She went on to thank the crew, presenters, and guests in her statement.

ITV has confirmed that the Alan Carr comedy Changing Ends will be back for a second series!

Changing Ends is an autobiographical sitcom that looks back at the Chatty Man's life growing up as a gay teenager in 1980s Northampton as the son of fourth-division football team manager, Graham Carr.

Per Off the Kerb's website, we've learned that filming on a second series will get underway early next year, with the show expected to land on ITVX in the summer. 

Of the news, Alan said: "Looks like we’re heading back to Northampton! Absolutely buzzing that is back for a second series, firstly because who doesn’t love a recommission, but secondly on a completely selfish level I have so many more stories from my teenage years growing up in Northampton to tell, about me, my family, my neighbours and believe it or not football! Shocker!"

The new series will once again be produced by Steve Coogan's production company, Baby Cow. Coogan has also weighed in on Changing Ends' renewal. 

Coogan said: "Alan Carr, brilliant and believed comedian, broadcaster and writer, has made the move into sitcom-making look effortless. As thrilled as I am that Baby Cow are getting to make a second series of Changing Ends (very funny/moving, audiences are bound to love the chapter) I do hope he has to break a sweat this time."

Changing Ends was co-written by Alan Carr and the late Two Doors Down creator, Simon Carlyle, who passed away aged 48 in August, shortly after production wrapped on Two Doors Down season 7. 

Changing Ends producer Mollie Freedman Berthoud paid tribute to the writer, stating that the team feel 'honoured' to be continuing the series he helped create: "Bringing Alan Carr’s life to the screen with the most wonderful cast and crew has been so rewarding and fulfilling, so to be given a second series of Changing Ends is a dream come true. 

"However, we are heartbroken to now have to take these steps without the magnificent Simon Carlyle. We miss him and his infectious laughter so much, but we feel honoured to be continuing the beautiful show he co-created", she added.
