Pearl will make her debut as Bill in series 10, which will be broadcast in 2017. Peter is starring in his third series as the Time Lord.
Meanwhile, fans on social media are speculating about whether one of Doctor Who’s most famous monsters will make an appearance in the spin-off show, Class.
Fady Elsayed, who will play one of the pupils in the series centring around Coal Hill School, shared an image of himself with a Weeping Angel on Twitter.
The terrifying creatures resembling stone statures were introduced in the 2007 episode Blink, during David Tennant’s stint as the Doctor.
Fady accompanied the tweet with the words: “#DoctorWho #ClassDw”
Class is currently filming in Cardiff, where Doctor Who is shot.
Former Coronation Street star Katherine Kelly, lately seen in the award-winning drama Happy Valley, has been cast as a teacher in Class.
The eight-part series will be available on BBC Three later this year.
