The long wait is over for Doctor Who fans... the new trailer for series nine has been shown at Comic-Con 2015 and it's revealed a few key things.

Stars Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman and Michelle Gomez and showrunner Steven Moffat spoke to fans at the Comic-Con Doctor Who panel as the new footage was unveiled.

So here are the five key things we learned along the way.
1. The new series will be hitting our telly screens on September 19.

2. Missy, aka The Master, is back, but we still have no idea how she’ll return…

3. Maisie Williams is featured in the new trailer and we’re dying to know who she is.
She can be seen saying to the Doctor: “What took you so long, old man?” All we know about her role is what Peter Capaldi himself has said, describing it as "cosmic".

4. The Doctor and Clara’s relationship has evolved.
Speaking at the panel, Jenna said: "There’s a freedom, I think. It's our glory years. It's really adrenaline-fuelled. It's all about pushing the adventure right up to the edge."
