Nekromantik 2 (1991) | Blu-ray release – The notorious underground German horror in HD

From those champions of all things cult worthy, Arrow Video, comes Nekromantik 2, the notorious 1991 sequel to cult German director Jörg Buttgereit’s underground shocker Nekromantik.

Meet Monika… a twenty something Berliner and necrophiliac who steals the corpse of a suicide victim from a church graveyard to keep her ‘company’. But when she meets mild-mannered Mark (Mark Reeder), Monika finds herself torn between having a ‘normal’ relationship and her desires for her rotting bedfellow…

Famously prosecuted in its native Germany for ‘glorifying violence’, Buttgereit’s 1991 sequel is as shocking as its reputation suggests. But behind the blood-soaked exterior lies a moving romance and thoughtful meditation on loss.
