New title for Paul Raymond biopic

Movie bosses have settled on a new name for a biopic about porn baron Paul Raymond starring Steve Coogan following a legal tussle with the late tycoon's family. Director Michael Winterbottom's film was initially due to be called The King Of Soho but the title had already been registered by Raymond's son for a rival film. Now production company StudioCanal, which is backing Winterbottom's film, has said it will instead be called The Look Of Love. Businessman Raymond died in 2008 after amassing a fortune through his properties around the Soho area of London and his string of adult publications, after starting as a stage mind-reader. He famously established the Raymond Revuebar strip club, which featured in the Beatles' recently remastered movie Magical Mystery Tour. The Look Of Love sees Coogan reunited with Winterbottom after they previously worked on 24 Hour Party People - about the Manchester music scene - as well as A Cock And Bull Story and BBC series The Trip. Coogan said: "Like 24 Hour Party People, it's a very British story about an eccentric character at the centre of pivotal events in British culture. "It has that strange combination of comedy and tragedy that Michael Winterbottom manages to pull off with a real deftness of touch. Like very few films these days, it's actually about something without being portentous. Oh, and there's lots of naked ladies in it too." Raymond's son Howard announced earlier this year when the row blew up that he had lined up Tom Hiddleston to play his father in his movie. The Look Of Love, which also stars Anna Friel, Tamsin Egerton and Imogen Poots, is due for release on March 8.
