Former Top Gear presenter and dad of two, Richard Hammond has revealed he was hurt after falling off a motorbike while filming for The Grand Tour.

Richard’s co-star Jeremy Clarkson told The Sun newspaper: “He really did hurt himself quite badly.”

But asked if fellow host Richard went to hospital, Jeremy joked: “We don’t do hospitals.”

It comes 11 years after Richard suffered life-threatening head injuries following a high-speed car crash as he filmed for BBC’s Top Gear in 2006.

The adrenaline-junkie was in a coma for a fortnight following the 288mph accident when a right tyre blew as he tried to set a land speed record at RAF Elvington near York.

He was airlifted to hospital in Leeds and the dad-of-two later revealed he suffered depression, paranoia and memory loss due to brain damage but went on to make a full recovery.

Following his most recent fall, Richard Hammond today assured fans he is “fine” and admitted he had fallen off a motorbike "many times" while filming for The Grand Tour.

In a post entitled “Yes, I fell off but yes, I’m fine. Sorry”, shared on motoring social media platform DriveTribe, Richard confirmed the reports of his latest accident.
