The US is constantly creating must-see entertainment content and you might be thinking that these programs are only available to US audiences — but that's not the case.
Thanks to these US streaming platforms securing deals with UK broadcasters like Sky and ITV, we can now watch award-winning content from a variety of genres. Although the UK isn't guaranteed the same release date as those across the pond, it saves you from waiting an age until they reach UK screens.
Here are the US dramas available to watch on both UK channels and streaming this week, as well as our top picks.
Boston Blue
Although Blue Bloods has officially ended, the crime drama's legacy lives on with the spin-off series Boston Blue, which follows NYPD cop Danny Reagan (Donnie Wahlberg) as he moves from the Big Apple to Boston.
When Danny's son Sean (Mika Amonsen) is seriously injured in a building fire, he takes a position with Boston PD and teams up with detective Lena Silver (Sonequa Martin-Green), the eldest daughter of a prominent law enforcement family, to investigate the blaze.
The first five episodes of Boston Blue premiere on Paramount+ on 24 September.
American Hostage
Jon Hamm plays a real-life 1970s radio host embroiled in a kidnapping ordeal in this crime thriller on MGM+.
Based on the scripted podcast of the same name, American Hostage "tells the harrowing true story of Fred Heckman, a beloved Indianapolis radio reporter who is thrust into the middle of a life-or-death crisis when hostage-taker Tony Kiritsis demands to be interviewed on his popular radio news program."
Tune in for the first two episodes on 20 September.
Outlander: Blood of my Blood season 2
Epic romantic saga Outlander: Blood of my Blood returns to chart the love story between Claire's parents — played by Julia Moriston (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine), and Jamie's parents — played by Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy).
After the explosive season 1 finale, the second series sees the young couples torn apart once again as the clans are thrust into war when the Scottish Highlands split in two by the 1715 Jacobite Rising.
For Henry and Julia, it picks up from their reunion at the standing stones of Craigh na Dun and reveals a distraught Julia alone with their baby. Henry must grapple with his mental health as he fights to find his way back to her.
Meanwhile, after Brian and Ellen chose each other over their families, they now must prioritise their clan loyalties as Brian fulfils his obligation to fight and Ellen wants to make amends with her family.
