Sir Tom said: "After months of planning, this evening of music and entertainment finally came together, and it truly was spectacular. The music is a joy and I got to perform alongside some absolutely amazing artists and see my career brought to life by some of Britain's best loved comedians.

“It was great fun watching Rob and his friends having a few laughs at my expense! It really was a special night in aid of a very special charity. I hope everyone that came along enjoyed the evening, and I hope people tune in in November to see the show for themselves."

BBC's Children In Need supports around 2,500 projects in the UK that work with children facing a range of disadvantages, including poverty, abuse and disability.

Children from one of those projects, Chickenshed Theatre, a theatre company that promotes social change and diversity, also joined Sir Tom and The Shires on stage for a song.
