Sexually forthright Edwina Currie is the jungle cougar on I'm a Celebrity!

Edwina Currie surprised her I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! campmates by opening up about her sexual exploits.

The 68-year-old former MP – who famously had an affair with ex-prime minister John Major – declared herself a cougar as she discussed having one night stands on the ITV show.

Edwina surprised fellow contestants Melanie Sykes, Nadia Forde and Kendra Wilkinson after she flirted with ex-footballer Jimmy Bullard as she watched him work out, asking him, “Would you be insulted if I said you’ve got the most marvellous legs?”

Jimmy revealed: “Edwina is a little flirt. When you’re doing press ups and sit ups, Edwina’s right there saying, ‘You don’t mind me watching you, do you? Oh, I like this.’”

Edwina said afterwards: “It was quite exciting. I could feel my pulse racing.”

Mel admitted: “Edwina has surprised me. She’s very open and very free about her sexuality.”

Nadia added: “Edwina’s not what I expected at all for a Tory politician.”

Edwina said: “Since I was in my early twenties, I’ve liked very attractive young men. I wonder if they’ve heard of cougars?”

Later the campmates were set a task of guessing what percentage of Brits had admitted to having a one-night stand in a recent survey.

Edwina said “Quite a high percentage of people have done that… Well maybe somebody you’ve known for a while and go out and maybe go back to the flat or something like that and you try it and actually in bed he’s no good. And if he’s simply no good, you think that’s it, sorry. I didn’t really enjoy your company, you are rather tedious, you’re not that good looking…”

Nadia asked her, 'speaking from experience Edwina?' and the politician laughed, “Yes”.

Later Nadia said: “She’s very open with her escapades in the past and present so it was definitely a moment of, ‘OK, we’re going there, all right!”

Edwina married her second husband in 2001.
