1 What’s going on with Kate?

We’ve not seen nearly enough of Simon’s lover-turned-wife Kate (Jodie Comer). What was that mystery wedding present Gemma gave her and was the strange man that Gemma saw her kissing really her godfather? "We will see more of Kate and find out about her," promised Suranne.

2 Does Sian have another secret?

Gemma’s gay colleague Sian (Sian Brooke) knew Simon at university and has reported back on Gemma to him, but is she still scheming? "Sian seems to know more about Gemma than one might expect," hinted writer Mike Bartlett.

3 How did Simon turn Tom away from Gemma?

What awful secret did Simon tell Tom about his mum that led the teenager to pack his bags and move in with his dad? "You’ll find that out," said Tom Taylor, who plays him. "He never really knows who is the more honest parent and his frustration just builds up…"

4 Will Gemma kill Simon?

Is it wrong that we’d love to see Gemma wipe the smirk off cheating Simon’s face permanently? Could the bloodstained publicity shots and Gemma’s access to drugs ensure that Simon’s vow to only leave "in a coffin" comes true? "I don’t want sympathy for Simon but he might get a bit," teased Suranne.

Doctor Foster continues on BBC1 on Tuesday at 9.00pm.

Caren Clark

Caren has been a journalist specializing in TV for almost two decades and is a Senior Features Writer for TV Times, TV & Satellite Week and What’s On TV magazines and she also writes for What to Watch.

Over the years, she has spent many a day in a muddy field or an on-set catering bus chatting to numerous stars on location including the likes of Olivia Colman, David Tennant, Suranne Jones, Jamie Dornan, Dame Judi Dench and Sir Derek Jacobi as well as Hollywood actors such as Glenn Close and Kiefer Sutherland.

Caren will happily sit down and watch any kind of telly (well, maybe not sci-fi!), but she particularly loves period dramas like Call the Midwife, Downton Abbey and The Crown and she’s also a big fan of juicy crime thrillers from Line of Duty to Poirot.

In her spare time, Caren enjoys going to the cinema and theatre or curling up with a good book.
