Michelle is at the centre of the five-part series as new army medic Corporal Georgie Lane. Georgie is thrust into danger when she is asked to join the British Army on a humanitarian mission to the Kenya/Somalia border.

It's a "six-week humanitarian mission," Georgie explains to her boyfriend in the new 16-second trailer. "You won't even no I've gone." But, fast-forward to scenes in Africa, and she's seen in the middle of the action. Her life is at risk amid explosions and fighting.

Luke Pasqualino, who plays D'Artagnan in BBC1's The Muskeeteers, stars alongside Michelle as Special Forces officer Elvis Harte. At one point in the trailer he's heard shouting her name, but will he need to save her from danger?

This is Michelle's first role in an action drama. She made her name playing Tina McIntyre on Coronation Street before her character was killed in 2014, and last year the 29-year-old starred in BBC1 drama Ordinary Lies. She is currently filming Tina and Bobby, ITV's upcoming mini-series about the legendary England footballer. She will play Bobby Moore's wife, Tina.

Our Girl will be on BBC1 in the autumn.
