‘I’m a bit of a wuss, really,’ reveals Musketeers star Luke Pasqualino

The Musketeers star Luke Pasqualino has confessed he is not as brave as his action hero character.

Luke (above, second from left), who stars as D'Artagnan alongside Howard Charles, Tom Burke and Santiago Cabrera as Porthos, Athos and Aramis in the BBC period drama, says he finds himself somewhat lacking in fighting spirit.

“I’m a bit of a wuss, really!” reveals Luke. “The musketeers are like brothers and would do anything for each other, and I can relate to that. I’d do anything for my family and friends. But - touch wood - I’ve never had to run someone through with a sword for them!

“We were having dinner in Prague during filming and heard shouting at the other end of the restaurant,” added Luke, “and Santiago, Howard, Tom and I all jumped up! These big dudes were fighting in the corner. That instinct to get involved is definitely there now. Did we actually get involved? No!”

The Musketeers continues on BBC1, Friday, January 9, 9.00pm.
