Mel B dropped her husband off at A&E on Tuesday – just hours before appearing on a US talk show and admitting they had little in common.
The Spice Girl and producer Stephen Belafonte have been married seven years and in December they both spoke out to deny rumours that Mel, 39, had suffered domestic abuse at the hands of Stephen.
Gossip website TMZ reported that Mel took Stephen to the emergency room at Cedars-Sinai medical centre in Los Angeles on Tuesday and stayed by his side while he was treated for back pain.
But later that day The X Factor and America’s Got Talent judge was seen on US TV show The View with Rosie O’Donnell, Naya Rivera and Nicolle Wallace, where she spoke about her relationship with Stephen.
Rosie asked: “Do you have a lot in common with your spouses?”, to which Mel declared: “No! But I like him a lot.”
Thanks for the well wishes but I'm ok just put my back out! I didn't eat an apple today!! #anappleadaykeepsthedoctoraway

Mel set tongues wagging in December when she was absent from the first part of The X Factor final because she had been hospitalised with a mystery illness. And when she returned to the ITV show the next day she was not wearing her wedding ring.
But the ring was back on for her appearance on The View.
