Myleene Klass has claimed she will 'take on' the critics of her reality show Popstar to Operastar. The likes of Kym Marsh and Bernie Nolan have taken up the challenge of trying to make it as opera singers - but some reviewers haven't been impressed. Myleene told The Sun: "Criticising the show makes them feel a little bit important. But this archaic and prehistoric attitude is so boring. "It just shows how out of touch they are. It is such an obvious and easy route to take and I think a lot of it is to do with their age." Earlier this month opera critic Rupert Christiansen wrote in the The Telegraph about the show: "I found it deeply depressing, and if anyone else spins me the line about it 'bringing opera to the masses’, I shall explode. "I sincerely hope – and anticipate - that it will prove a massive flop." But Myleene argued: "Who do they think subsidises their baroque CDs, or is the reason they can continue to listen to renaissance albums? It is because popular artists subsidise them." "If the critics thought about it they would see it's wonderful. They are finally getting a different genre of music on TV. "These are pop stars who are trying to embrace a different way of singing."
