Shayne Ward has shared his dramatic transformation as he prepares for his first film role since leaving Coronation Street earlier this year.

The actor – who portrayed Aidan Connor, who tragically took his own life – certainly appears to have shed some of his ‘dad weight’ as he looked in great shape for his upcoming film Stairs.

Shayne will play action hero Will Stanton, alongside his fiancée Sophie Austin, in the Tom Paton film.

Fans seemed very happy with his new role; with many commenting how good he looks in his uniform.

Last week, Shayne paid tribute to Sophie, sharing a photo of his soon-to-be-wife dressed in an all-back outfit while on set.

"What a dream it was to play across from my fiancée @sophieaustin84 for our up and coming film Stairs by @tompatonfilm. Trust me when I say her scenes will blow you away," he said.

Shayne's former co-star Catherine Tyldesley, who played his on-screen ex-wife Eva Price, showed her support by telling her friend: "Can't wait to see it, go team!"
