The BFI's Monster Weekend to screen three classic horror films at the British Museum in August

As a curtain raiser to its ambitious Gothic: The Dark Heart of Film project starting this August, the BFI will screen three classic 1950's horror films in the forecourt of the British Museum over the weekend of 29-31 August.

These will include Night of the Demon, which will be introduced by its star Peggy Cummins, Dracula and The Mummy, starring Christopher Lee and the late Peter Cushing (whose centenary is being celebrated this year). Both Night of the Demon and The Mummy will be world premieres of a new digital remastering print, while Dracula will feature the new Lionsgate/BFI restoration.
