Images from the fifth week of auditions from The X Factor 5
Week five of the auditions saw the return of some familiar faces, including onetime hopeful Ceri Rees
The Cardiff auditions got off to a bad start - with Rachel Roberts among those given the thumbs down
Fiftysomething auditionee Susan Keech also failed to impress
While Lisa Meredith's singing partner didn't turn up - and Simon said he wasn't surprised
However girl duo Adante - supported by their entire Welsh village - made it to boot camp
In London, Ryan Cummings appeared over-confident - but made it to the next round
And girl group Pure Elements also left the panel in two minds
Teenager Melanie McCabe divided the judges
Nor could the panel agree on housewife Shelley Morefield
Student Ashiq had sincerity in spades - but it wasn't enough
However it was better news for teenager Mali, who was one of Simon's favourites
Stacey Phipps also made it through
The judges loved new mum Anastasia Baker
And so did office worker Hannah Bradbeer, whom Simon described as one to watch
Adebola compared herself to Whitney Houston - but sounded nothing like her
Louis likened all-female quartet Bad Lashes to a group of hairdressers
And 2005 auditionee Anthony Little returned - complete with his piano key tie
He removed it to reveal a new image - but even that didn't win him a place at boot camp
