The three remaining Spice Girls are reportedly in talks to launch their own talent show!

Spice Girls Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Horner have confirmed their return as a trio called GEM with new music on the way and plans for a huge reunion gig next summer.

Now they are also said to be talking to the BBC about branching out into making their own TV show, although a broadcaster is not confirmed.

A source told The Mirror: “It’s early days but Mel B, Emma and Geri are in talks about developing their own show.”

Should Simon Cowell be worried about his Saturday night talent show crown?

He already has competition in the form of Gary Barlow’s new programme Let It Shine, where he’s seeking five singers to form a Take That tribute band.

Mel B has a strong track record with talent shows, having worked on The X Factor and America’s Got Talent.

Geri was previously a judge of Popstars: The Rivals, which created Girls Aloud, and she was also a judge on Australia’s Got Talent.

Emma briefly hosted Channel 5 singing show Don’t Stop Believing.

Earlier this week the trio celebrated the 20th anniversary of The Spice Girl's debut single Wannabe, their producer has said.

Songwriter and producer Eliot Kennedy told ITV’s Good Morning Britain: “We have been in the studio, with just three of them – Mel B and Geri and Emma and we had a fantastic couple of days.

“We wrote a brilliant song and the energy was exactly like it was 20 years ago, just as enthusiastic, just as much to say, just as much to celebrate.”

When asked if the group were in a place to have a reunion, he replied: “I think it’s a great time, it’s 20 years, that’s a serious amount of time and they’ve had such a massive influence on women around the world.

“America’s likely to have a woman President, we’re going to have another woman Prime Minister – women rock!

“Let’s be honest and I think they have something to do with that, the way female artists are perceived in the pop charts nowadays, I think they’ve had a massive effect on pop music and pop culture, so it’s a good time to celebrate.”

In a video posted online by the three women, Mel says: “We’ve been thinking, we have the best fans in the whole entire world… and we want to celebrate and have a party and when we do you’re all invited.”

A message written on screen at the end reads: “We hope to tell you soon what you want, what you really, really want.”

The three singers have reportedly agreed to a London show in July 2017 but Victoria Beckham has previously ruled herself out of a reunion, while Melanie Chisholm has said she is focusing on her solo album.

Wannabe was one of the band’s biggest hits, spending seven weeks at the top of the UK charts and earning them a Brit award for best single.
