Tweet by tweet, how Phillip Schofield broadcast for 24 hours straight

Phillip Schofield has almost completed 24 hours live on television, making him the first in Britain to do so.

There’s been no breaks, no back-ups and more than 200 guests. He’s presented This Morning, appeared on Loose Women and presented the weather. He’s also caught up with Ant and Dec in the jungle, spoke to Emmerdale and Coronation Street stars and had a midnight feast with Davina McCall.

Pixie Lott, The Vamps and Union J also joined him throughout the night, but most impressively he interviewed David Cameron live at Number 10 this morning – on no sleep.

Fantastic to help @Schofe and @ITV #TextSanta24 with the first ever live interview from No10's Cabinet room. pic.twitter.com/HjULtvBiD7

It’s all for the six charities supported by Text Santa this year – Teenage Cancer Trust, Guide Dogs, WellChild, Alzheimer’s Society, Together for Short Lives & Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Seemingly everyone has been impressed by the effort put in by Schofield, and have also enjoyed the show.

I don't know how @Schofe is still going and with so much enthusiasm, I've just woken up from 8 hours sleep and I'm knackered! #TextSanta24

Although we think Kerry Katona may have taken it a bit far.

@Schofe #TextSanta24 omg well done Philip you should be knighted!!! Xxx

Strange things happened.

I'm lying in bed at 0449 watching @Schofe eating a hotdog while dancing! #TextSanta24

It didn’t look like he would make it at times.

There's something fascinating about watching @Schofe look at his phone for 5 minutes live on TV at 4am #TextSanta24 pic.twitter.com/EBMrMY42BC

We’ve learnt a few things about Schofe.

Two things we've learnt about @Schofe during #TextSanta24… He can't stand egg whites and he goes nowhere without a lip balm. Fact!

And we got to see one of the biggest mysteries of all… what goes on during ad-breaks.

Loving watching #TextSanta24 @Schofe you never normally get to see behind the scenes of all these programmes, like when ad breaks cut!!

But after all those hours of broadcasting, he still made breakfast for everyone.

As if @Schofe wasn't brilliant enough he goes and does #TextSanta24 Making breakfast for everyone on @ITVLorraine too! @ITVTextSanta

But we think he’s definitely ready for bed now. How comfy he looks in that onesie tells the story.
