Marc Warren says that he is disappointed about the untimely end of Mutual Friends.
The BBC One comedy drama, which also starred Keeley Hawes, Sarah Alexander and Alexander Armstrong, ran for six episodes in 2008 before being cancelled due to low ratings.
"I did do a series for the BBC years ago called Mutual Friends. I always regret that that didn't do better because I always thought that was a great show, but it didn't get picked up again. That was always a bit of a regret for me," said the former Hustle star.
Marc - who stars in Paul Hills' new film Do Elephants Pray? - is excited to start filming the fourth season of Sky1 drama Mad Dogs.
"I'm really enjoying doing Mad Dogs. We're just about to do the fourth series of that in Cape Town," he said. "I was part of the process of getting Mad Dogs made, so I'm quite enjoying collaborating on stuff and getting programmes developed. I love working with the team, and of course John Simm's in it, and I met John working with Paul Hills back in 1994."
The 45-year-old said he would also consider directing more in the future: "I'll see how this goes; I'll give it my best shot and see if I've got an aptitude for it, because I have no idea if I have or not yet."
