Linda Marlowe appears in Casualty this week as pensioner Gloria Rhodes, who holds doctor Dylan Keogh’s future in her hands!
When heavily hung-over doctor Dylan Keogh nearly runs over Gloria and her dog, Waffle, she’s immediately suspicious he’s been drinking! While Dylan (William Beck (opens in new tab)) is treating Gloria she strong-arms him into helping her find a nursing home that will take both her and Waffle – otherwise she’ll report him for being boozed up behind the wheel. Will Dylan be blackmailed by stern ex-teacher Gloria? Or will Dylan discover Gloria’s secrets before she reveals his?
It’s a welcome return to the screen for accomplished actor, Linda Marlowe. And it looks like Dylan has met his match!
During her sixty-year career Linda, 77, has guest starred in iconic shows including Danger Island, The Saint, Grange Hill, Boon, Coronation Street, The Borgais and Doctors.
Linda joined Kathy Burke as one of the few female characters in the BAFTA-winning remake of Cold War classic, Tinker Tailor, Soldier, Spy. Gary Oldman and John Hurt also starred in the 2011 film.
Linda played Sylvia Carter in EastEnders from 2014 – 2017. Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) believed Sylvia was his mum until he discovered she was his grandmother - Sylvia’s daughter Linda is Mick’s real mum! Sylvia died from accidental electrocution in the bath.
