Corrie's Georgia: I won't win soap's sexiest award

Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote says the award for Sexiest Female should go to her co-star Michelle Keegan at the British Soap Awards.

The 22-year-old actress - who plays teen mum Katy Armstrong in Coronation Street - has been nominated for Sexiest Female against co-star Michelle, who has won the award for the last four years.

Georgia said: "I spoke to Michelle not long ago about it and she just said 'really enjoy the whole process and have a good time'. I genuinely think Michelle will get it again this year, it's definitely her award.

"And whatever the outcome we'll all have a good night I'm sure."

The actress also revealed her dad was in a quandary about voting for her.

She explained: "My dad said to my mum 'You'll have to do this voting, I can't vote my own daughter sexiest female, it's a bit strange!' They're really happy about it though, and my boyfriend's really pleased for me."

Georgia insisted she doesn't feel like the sexiest female when she has an early morning call for the ITV soap.

She joked: "I think if you saw me in the morning, I definitely wouldn't be up for this award. It's a good job our make-up girls are good! But it's very flattering and it's nice to think that people would see me like that."

Georgia's alter-ego Katy has started dressing a lot more sexily on Coronation Street since she split from Chesney Brown and started dating Ryan Connor.

Georgia said: "I'm quite a covery-up person, I don't ever wear anything too revealing, so the fact Katy's been wearing really low-cut dresses has been a bit strange for me. I'm always in trackie bottoms and onesies at home. I don't really see myself as sexy, but I'm very flattered."
