EastEnders' Adam Woodyatt: ‘It’s great having all the Mitchells back!’ (VIDEO)

EastEnders star Adam Woodyatt reveals he’s looking forward to the return of Peggy Mitchell (Barbara Windsor) on Monday, but maybe not quite for the same reasons the rest of us are…

Talking to What’s on TV on the BAFTA TV red carpet this evening Adam was keeping his EastEnders' cards close to his chest, but did say this of the long-awaited family reunion between Peggy and Grant Mitchell (Ross Kemp):

“It’s been great having all the Mitchells back because it means I’ve had a quiet week because they weren’t [filming] in my house!"

Speaking about Peggy’s return to Walford, Adam teased… “I may, or may not, visit.”

But he did have this to say about Ian’s moneymaking deal with Costmart: “No matter what, Ian will always be a capitalist. And I’ve got to say, Costmart, it’s a good deal!”

Speaking ahead of the star-studded ceremony in Royal Festival Hall, London, Adam revealed his aspirations for EastEnders’ in the Soap & Continuing Drama category:

“It would be nice to win because it’s Dom’s [producer Dominic Treadwell-Collins] last one and the episodes we put in were Live Week. But… we all know how hard we all work. If Corrie win it again, they get three in a row, well done to them. If Emmerdale win it – they’ve had a good year, and the same with Holby – we all work hard and are trying to make the best programme we possibly can.”

Before he left us to attend the ceremony, hosted by Graham Norton, Adam dropped a surprise revelation - his favourite TV show is MasterChef Australia!

He said: “It’s my favourite TV programme. We stumbled upon it… and have been hooked on it ever since. I think they’ve got the format absolutely right, it’s a great programme!”
