King Foggy vs every other I'm A Celebrity winner

Carl 'Foggy' Fogarty has been crowned King of the Jungle 2014 – but how does he measure up to previous winners?

We compare and contrast King Foggy with his 13 predecessors to see who comes out on top in the jungle. Ding ding!

Tony Blackburn

It’s a tough ask for anyone to measure up to the first ever winner of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, but we reckon Foggy just about manages it. He may not be quite so much of a national treasure as Tony, and is possibly a little rougher around the edges, but for sheer grit in the face of any challenge he’s the victor.

Winner: Foggy

Phil Tufnell

(Ian West/PA)

As much as Foggy may have won over even those viewers who didn’t know him well to begin with, who can resist the charm and charisma of Tuffers? Sorry Foggy, but Phil is just that bit more loveable, so this time the cheeky chappy wins out over brawn.

Winner: Phil

Kerry Katona

(Yui Mok/PA)

There’s a certain je ne sais quoi about Kerry that means, despite the drama that seems to follow her wherever she goes, she remains a completely down-to-earth, un-diva-ish gal. Plus, if it’s the entertainment factor you’re after, there’s simply no beating Miss Katona.

Winner: Kerry

Joe Pasquale

Joe Pasquale

(Mark Lees/PA)

He of the squeaky voice may have charmed us in series four, but no amount of laughter can match up to Foggy’s steely approach to winning stars. Friendly as Joe was, we know who we’d want in our camp to save us from the monotony of rice and beans.

Winner: Foggy

Carol Thatcher

Carol Thatcher

(Tim Ockenden/PA)

The camp always needs a mother hen, and while Carol more than happily stepped into that role, it’s something that this year’s camp was lacking. Nevertheless, Foggy may not have had the sensitive touch when it came to comforting other campmates, but he more than made up for less mollycoddling by winning meals.

Winner: Foggy

Matt Willis

Matt Willis

(John Stillwell/PA)

McBusted star Matt’s incredible two-stone weight loss is the main lasting memory of his time in the jungle, although he was a team player, too. But given that the main thing we’ll remember about Foggy is that he was so brave for the rest of the camp, we have to name Foggy as the winner again here.

Winner: Foggy

Christopher Biggins

Christopher Biggins

(Anthony Devlin/PA)

Here’s where Foggy’s run of wins hits a stumbling block. Who wouldn’t want to spend three weeks in the company of the delightful Biggins? With a never-ending stream of anecdotes and enough good cheer to carry the entire camp, he has to have been one of the most popular contestants ever.

Winner: Biggins

Joe Swash

(ITV)

Think of the title King of the Jungle and there are a couple of names that always spring to mind – it’ll be a long while before anyone else takes Joe’s place in that hall of fame. His jungle bromance with George Takei was just that bit sweeter than Joggy (Foggy and BFF Jimmy Bullard), and Joe really did come across as one of the nicest, fairest people you’re ever likely to meet.

Winner: Joe

Gino D’Acampo

Gino D'Acampo

(Steve Parsons/PA)

You can’t ask for more than a good camp cook, but in Gino the lucky campers of series nine had a professional chef. Even an unfortunate incident killing and cooking a rat to stock up on sorely needed protein didn’t stop Gino becoming the most voted-for winner ever. Foggy may have provided the raw ingredients, but being able to make rice and beans taste as good as Gino did is an unbeatable skill.

Winner: Gino

Stacey Solomon

Stacey Solomon

(Ian West/PA)

Lovely Stacey was a favourite with her fellow campers as well as viewers, and her good cheer saw her through many a tough time – most notably, a disgusting eating bushtucker trial alongside runner-up Shaun Ryder. Yes, Foggy performed admirably in his eating task, but Stacey just pips him to the post for powering through despite Shaun shouting out a running commentary on the disgusting delicacies she was eating, too.

Winner: Stacey

Dougie Poynter

(Steve Parsons/PA)

Pretty boy Dougie certainly made the camp look good, and he wasn’t shy at getting stuck into tasks either. However, with Foggy known among his campmates as Crocodile Dundee (Jake Quickenden even reckoned he’d head back to camp to tend to the fire after being crowned winner), we’ve no doubt that if it was a contest between the two, Foggy would come out on top in the challenges.

Winner: Foggy

Charlie Brooks

Charlie Brooks

(Ian West/PA)

Poor old Charlie may have been a perfectly decent Queen of the Jungle, but she was the least-voted-for winner ever. While she stepped up to pretty much every challenge set for her, Charlie didn’t quite have the same determination and winner’s edge that Foggy displayed. If they’d been in the jungle the same year, we reckon Foggy would have won hands down.

Winner: Foggy

Kian Egan

Kian Egan

(Dominic Lipinski/PA)

Don’t take it personally, Foggy – this is where pretty much every contestant from now until the end of time will come unstuck. Kian’s good looks, kind nature and bushtucker trials brilliance, plus his unfailing support of anyone else in a task, made him most people’s ultimate jungle winner. Foggy, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with the way you went about jungle life, but it’s difficult to imagine a more ideal winner than good old Kian.

Winner: Kian
