Wolf (1994) | UK Blu-ray premiere – Jack Nicholson sinks his teeth into Mike Nichols’ romantic horror
It’s a bit of a surprise to find such big-name Hollywood stars as Jack Nicholson, Michelle Pfeiffer and Christopher Plummer involved in such an offbeat take on Universal's 1940s horror classic The Wolf Man, which finds Nicholson playing publishing editor Will Randall, who hits a wolf on a snowbound road, at a time when the full moon is at it’s closest to Earth.
Bitten by the beast, Will is soon feeling the first twitches of lycanthropic possession. And although the transformation gives him an increased sex drive and a more ambitious work ethic, he also discovers a strange need for blood…
With a great supporting cast, including The Blacklist’s James Spader, Frasier’s David Hyde Pierce, and our very own Prunella Scales, and a great score from Ennio Morricone, director Mike Nichols conjures up a thrilling modern-day werewolf movie that’s a witty and inventive hybrid of horror film, romantic thriller and biting satire where the real monster is corporate greed.
Indicator presents the film in a new HD re-master on Blu-ray (which is a UK premiere), limited to 3000 copies, and with the following special features…
