Cast reunite to start filming Mr Selfridge 2

Jeremy Piven has been spotted having a laugh with co-star Aisling Loftus as filming began for the second series of Mr Selfridge in London.

Polly Walker, Aidan McArdle and Cal MacAninch have been added to the cast alongside Jeremy, who takes the leading role of American entrepreneur Harry Gordon Selfridge, who founded the world-renowned store on London's Oxford Street, and Aisling, who plays employee Agnes Towler.

Polly, who has appeared in films such as John Carter and Patriot Games as well as BBC1's Prisoners' Wives, is to play Bohemian novelist and businesswoman Delphine Day who befriends Rose Selfridge (Frances O'Connor), while Irish actor Aidan has been cast as 'alpha-male' Lord Loxley, the estranged husband of Katherine Kelly's character Lady Mae.

Scottish star Cal, who has been in Downton Abbey and Wild At Heart, will play the flamboyant new head of fashion Mr Thackeray.

Ten new episodes of the ITV drama, which takes place in 1914, four years on from the events of the first series, have been recommissioned.

In the second series, Harry prepares his staff for challenges in the times ahead as talk of war intensifies in Europe. As his focus remains on his store, his relationship with his wife Rose becomes increasingly strained. While Harry runs the business and lives the life of a bachelor in London, Rose has been spending long periods in America with the couple's youngest children.

The second series of Mr Selfridge will be shown in 2014 to coincide with the centenary of World War One.
