A Marvellous role for Game Of Thrones star Isaac Hempstead Wright

Isaac Hempstead Wright is best known for playing Bran Stark in fantasy series Game Of Thrones, but now it seems he's got his sights set on playing another Stark.

The 16-year-old, who has starred in films such as The Boxtrolls, The Awakening and Closed Circuit, says that he would like to play Marvel character Iron Man, aka Tony Stark.

He jokes that he would be the perfect person to take on the role following his role in the Sky Atlantic series.

“I’ve already been one Stark so I guess I could transition pretty well into another,” he says. “If Marvel are listening: Iron Man the prequel.

Isaac, who was 12 when he made his debut in the first series of Game Of Thrones, is to start filming scenes for the sixth series at the end of July. It would mark his screen return, after he was sidelined in the fifth series.

“I can’t say a lot but I am back this season, and it’s going to get particularly interesting with Bran. He has some interesting visions,” he teases.

The actor admits he hasn’t seen any of the fifth series, saying: “I missed the whole of the last season because it was right in the middle of my exams, so I didn’t have the time to watch it. But I’m looking forward to getting with some friends and binge-watching it all.”

Isaac also hopes Kit Harington will also be back as Jon Snow for series six, according to rumours.

“I don’t know (if he will come back). He’s said he’s not,” he says.

“I wish he would because I love Kit and because the character’s so cool. Who knows? We start filming series six at the end of this month (July) so we’ll see.”
