Alan Titchmarsh: ‘Not completing a garden is my worst fear!’

With the new series of ITV’s Love Your Garden screening on Tuesdays, gardening guru Alan Titchmarsh confesses he’s still not lost his fear of failing to finish a makeover in time.

Alan who presents Love Your Garden with his green–fingered team of Frances Tophill, David Domoney and Katie Rushworth says: “Not completing on time is my worst fear. There’s often a moment where it could go either way and I’m not sure whether we’ll get it done. It hasn’t happened yet, but there’s always a first time!

“For one garden in this series we had eight tonnes of topsoil arrive two hours late. Two hours late in a two-day makeover really throws us, so it’s always a case of ‘will we finish it?’ The worry is the same, no matter how many shows you do.”

Alan, 65, who who’s also presented Gardeners’ World and Ground Force during his 50-year-career, said. “We get hundreds of applications and viewers can expect to see some amazing transformations for wonderfully deserving people in this fourth series.”
