Former Have I Got News For You presenter Angus Deayton is going back to school with a role in the next series of Waterloo Road. He is joining the cast of the long-running BBC show as world-weary language teacher George Windsor, and is currently filming in Greenock, central Scotland. The show, which was filmed in Rochdale for many years, explained its recent relocation in a storyline in which some of the teachers and pupils at the troubled comprehensive set up an independent school in Scotland. Angus has appeared in shows including the black comedy Nighty Night and One Foot In The Grave. He was axed from Have I Got News For You in 2002, as panellists consistently made him the butt of their jokes after a series of newspaper stories about his private life.
