Baby Spice scoops Mum of the Year

Emma Bunton has landed a celebrity mum of the year award - just days after her Spice Girls bandmate Mel C won a similar accolade.

Emma, known as Baby Spice during her days in the girl group, topped a public poll, beating nominees such as Myleene Klass and Holly Willoughby.

The singer - now the presenter of the Heart 106.2 breakfast show - said she was 'honoured' to be be named Foxy Bingo Celebrity Mum of the Year 2013.

More than 10,000 people cast their votes in the annual poll through the bingo firm's website, and she captured almost a third of the vote.

Second place went to Michelle Heaton, who has recently been seen reuniting with her group Liberty X in ITV2's The Big Reunion.

And Steps star Claire Richards, who had a stint in Celebrity Big Brother in January, was third. Presenter Myleene Klass and TV host Holly Willoughby made up the top five.

Emma - who has two sons, Beau Lee Jones aged five and Tate Lee Jones aged two - appeared at the Olympic closing ceremony in the summer, and a musical featuring her Spice Girls hits, Viva Forever, launched late last year.

She said: "I couldn't ask for more this Mother's Day than to have my two boys around me and this award on my mantelpiece. I'm so honoured that thousands of you picked me, thank you to everyone who voted. This award is extra special because this is the most important thing - being a Mummy."

Mel C collected the Tesco Celebrity Mum Of The Year Award earlier this week.
