The BBC has announced it is to show a new forensic crime drama called The Body Farm, starring Waking The Dead's Tara Fitzgerald. Tara plays her Waking The Dead character, Dr Eve Lockhart, in the new six-part series which sees her and her team push the boundaries of scientific research in order to solve crimes at a private forensics facility called The Body Farm. Using her exceptional skills in the area of forensic pathology, Eve is called upon by various law-enforcement forces around the world to provide expert knowledge to help solve difficult crimes. Kate Harwood, BBC controller of drama series and serials, says: "Eve Lockhart is a powerful and brilliant character from Waking The Dead - compassionate but cool and committed she searches for truth and justice in the darkest human experience. The Body Farm visually combines forensic and mortal elements in a cinematic, beautiful, surprising and arresting series." Filming for the new drama will begin in the spring.
