Pete Doherty is reportedly writing a TV drama about the music industry. The indie musician - who now wishes to be known as Peter Doherty - has been asked by the BBC to start work on a pilot episode, reports The Sun. A source said: "They've commissioned him to write a Skins-style show on the dark side of the music industry." They continued: "They want a pilot episode written in the next six weeks which will become a series, if he can come up with the goods. "Beeb bosses think Pete has a creative streak that will produce some gritty TV. "He's seen it all as a hell-raising rock star, so they want his experiences written in." Peter, 30, who has just released his debut solo album Grace/Wastelands, can write more than just songs. He won a poetry competition aged 16 and went on a literary tour of Russia organised by the British Council. Get exclusive access to your favourite stars. Subscribe to TV Times magazine
