Ben Fogle says it was amazing to go on his latest adventure with James Cracknell, the first since the Olympic gold medallist was badly injured preparing for a cycle challenge in 2010.

The pair, who famously rowed the Atlantic together in 2006, recently returned from a gruelling desert trek in the searing heat of the United Arab Emirates for a new BBC2 documentary to be shown later this year.

Ben told TV Times that it gave them a chance to talk about all their past adventures.

"It was amazing to spend time with a great friend of mine and to reminisce about all the things we've done over the years," says Ben. "It was a real highlight and hopefully the show can represent that well."

Meanwhile, Ben is preparing to swim the Atlantic in 100 days. It will mean spending up to 12 hours a day in the water in order to cross the 3,000-mile wide ocean.
