Diana & I, 9.00pm, BBC2 - NEW DRAMA

Diana and I

The schedules have been bursting with tributes to the Princess of Wales and in tonight’s one-off drama, Tamsin Greig and Neil Morrissey lead the cast in a story of national mourning. There’s the journalist who abandons his honeymoon to cover the biggest story of his lifetime, the florist who has pound signs in her eyes when she hears the news and the boy whose mother’s death on the same day is overshadowed by Diana’s. A refreshing and moving take on a very familiar chapter of history. Rating: ****

House of Games, 6.00pm, BBC2 - NEW QUIZ SHOW

House of Games Richard Osman

Pointless host Richard Osman brings us this brand new weekday teatime quiz, featuring four famous faces who must compete in a variety of games to win points (and rubbish prizes). Tonight’s opener kicks off with Radio 2 presenter Anneka Rice, DJ Clara Amfo and comedians Al Murray and Nish Kumar battling it out. We especially liked the ‘Distinctly Average’ round, in which the contestants have to guess, for example, how much the average UK household spent last Christmas. But ‘Broken Karaoke’ was really tricky. Could you name a song with only the first letters of the words to a lyric as the clue? No prizes for guessing who won that round! Rating: ****

The Davina Hour, 9.00pm, W - NEW CHAT SHOW

The Davina Hour

In an age where 1,000 selfies are uploaded to Instagram per second, and people undergo extreme procedures to change their appearance, is our obsession with body image and perfection out of control? This is the question asked by Davina McCall in the first of a discussion series on modern life’s biggest dilemmas. Davina is joined by experts and ‘real people’ who have problems with image and self-worth, including TV doctor Christian Jessen, who opens up for the first time about his teenage bulimia. Thought-provoking. Rating: ***
