Brenda Blethyn: 'I wouldn't mind hosting The Chase!'

Watch out Bradley Walsh, Brenda Blethyn is after your job on The Chase.

The actress, who reprises her role as shrewd detective Vera Stanhope in ITV crime drama Vera on Sunday, August 25, tells TV & Satellite Week that she would love to oversee proceedings and ask the questions on the ITV teatime quiz.

"I wouldn't mind Bradley Walsh's job on The Chase, I always watch it if I am home in time and then Eggheads straight afterwards," laughs Brenda. " I just love quizzes, puzzles and brainteasers. I think I'd make a good detective actually, I am nosy and I like solving things and figuring things out. I have sat at a crossword puzzle all day without solving a single clue, but I just love the process."
